Astrology questions in comments
As I've said in my last post, here are some unanswered questions that has been published in the comment section of my posts and I'm going to answer them here but without publishing the names of the people who made this asks due to privacy. I hope it resonates with you all.
Lilith opposite Midheaven (MC)
Hmmm... I've been thinking about this aspect for a long time and it seems to indicate that you have an inner dark side that could be hidden from others. Maybe some people can sence this dark part of yourself, maybe a highly sexual energy too, but they can't figure it out if that energy is real or not because you keep it very much hidden from others since it conjuncts the IC, the most private part of ourselves. Only with very close relationships that you trust, or on your own, you release this dark and sexual energy.
Bless conjunct Venus in Midheaven (MC)
Having the asteroid Bless in your tenth house and conjuncting your Venus could signal that you will have a benefic and loving time in your career. If you have a creative, fashionable or artistic side that you want to pursue as a career, this aspects can tell you that your career will be blessed. On the other hand, your career or work time could bring you oportunities on forming loving and, sometimes, romantic partnerships with your coworkers. With these aspects alone, there won't be many hard times in your career.
Vertex in the 9th house
Vertex, in general, talks about "points of fate". The house, signs and aspects this point makes in the natal chart indicates the areas in which you will face certains types of themes that can change or affect your life deeply. Having this point in the ninth house indicates that you will face life-changing events or situations either when you enter university, study or travell to other places. Maybe the way you see the world or your faith will face certain situations that will challenge and expand the way you are as a hole since, in my opinion, the Vertex not only affects one specific area but our entire chart as well.
I hope you enjoyed this post. As always, I send love and light to you all.

Me, to my new date: doctor who thinks it's a sci-fi story because the Doctor thinks it's a sci-fi story and because the companions think it's a sci-fi story, but it's really just a story about ghosts. a story about an ancient creature carrying the ghosts of everyone they have ever loved, meeting new people, and seeing them only as future ghosts. they are haunted by the future and the past and the present because they are the only constant in a world constantly in flux, and they are running as fast as they can to things before they burn and fade to dust but everything will always end, you understand, because this is the only thing the Doctor understands and yet they keep going. they love too much to stop. doctor who is not science-fiction, it's horror and optimism and spiritual more than anything else, it's religious unto itself, the TARDIS is a haunted house and a church and a graveyard and a hospital and the Doctor is the most haunted being in the universe but more than anything, this is a love story, because how can you love something without being haunted by it- hey, what are you doing?
My date, shoving breadsticks in their purse: I have to go-

Saturn the father you always wanted and always have. Saturn in da houses, and why your life sucks. Im blunt here so don't complain don't read if you can't handle the reality of saturn. Saturn in the first house - okay you don't like to try when you present yourself, you think people should just instantly respect you because youve been through many trials in life... well people usually dont know how to talk to you because you have a stick up your ass. Saturn in the second house - everyones greedy, but when you are, its not cool. Well it isn't because when you are greedy you act like a goblin. be more mature its okay to be greedy but your acting like its a virtue stfu. Saturn in the third house - everyone thinks your dumb af, and you are only because you lack confidence to drive your points home. you just need to learn how to communicate better, your not dumb but you act like a dumbass. Saturn in the fourth house - sad boy/girl now everyone knows you had a rough childhood but would you grow up already, everyone else has but your still stuck being sad about how life has treated you (or your momma/dadda) grow up your not getting any younger you can't change the past stop wallowing. the past has taught you well, use it to your advantage or let it hold you back. Saturn in the fifth house - pretend players who get played everytime. Always gotta pretend like they are fun but whenever you do try to have fun with them they are annoying. yes you could be fun in the bedroom simply because everyone knows your too sensitive to break someones heart... because your heart is the most broken. Saturn in the sixth house - the real try hards always putting in 100%. suck ups to there boss or whoever is above them. but when there authority disrespects them they go rogue and try even harder just to spit in there boss's face. i respect it because i got cap here Saturn in the seventh house - if your a bad person good luck in this life, because your karma is received ten fold by your partners, they always like to complete your karmic cycle because thats just how it works idk. so better act right or your partner will ruin it before you ruin yourself.
Saturn in the eighth house - will do anything to get to the top. no pain is too painful. well it all is, but the ends justify the means. when they put there foot down the whole room shakes. so when your making a move make sure its the right one because your power plays are on display for everyone and itll make or break you more than the other placements. Saturn in the ninth house - lazy asses, always looking for an easy way out. they know what the right thing to do is, but the likelihood of them doing it is never. its because saturn restricts there luck/ mind and they just have woe is me energy and its annoying make better choices, and if you dont stop crying about it. but if they act right saturn blesses them the fuck up. Saturn in the tenth house - okay these people think they are better than everyone and deserve everything, but they never receive the applause they crave. its never enough even if the whole room is looking at them they suddenly don't want it anymore. there karma everyone can see, and if its too good it feels like a curse, and when its bad and reality comes crashing down they just want to hide but they cant. own your life or it will own you. Saturn in the eleventh - there community will give them there karma, always these people dont have a place where they feel safe. because they never make anyone feel safe around them, then cry when no-one gives them that favour. stfu and treat us better and maybe we will do you better. Saturn in the twelfth - okay apparently this is where saturn is in its joy, and i guess its because god/ spirits judge you. and i guess thats a good thing because if anyone should judge you its him. except the pain here is you have ultimate freedom, you rarely get signs on what to do. will you make the right choice or the wrong once? well they are lucky because they always get there karma quickly so they can always recover fast. but these people struggle to empathise because they don't feel the energy of the room. sooooo just grow up you got the best saturn, and your karma resides is in your empathy. disclaimer - saturn wants you to be the best. and no one is.... so i like to think if you want a sense of direction (where are you going wrong) look at the saturn house and if you are successful congrats your doing saturn right. but be careful he always thinks you can do better, and he loves to humble you. so be-careful out there.

Planets in the 10th house
The Tenth House, often called the House of Social Status, gently encourages us to explore our societal roles and career paths. It speaks of authority, recognition, and community contributions. This house prompts us to contemplate aspirations, drive, and wielding influence. It also nudges us to reflect on wider impact and lessons from authority relationships. It's a journey of growth, securing goals, and learning from boundaries. It’s ruled by Capricorn and the planet Saturn.

astro notes: jupiter through the houses pt.4
Symbolizing wisdom, luck, and spiritual growth, Jupiter guides us through journeys of abundance and higher learning. As it rules Sagittarius and Pisces, and co-rules Pisces with Neptune, its reach extends to philosophical pursuits, foreign travel, and spiritual exploration. From its exaltation in Cancer to its debilitation in Capricorn, Jupiter's placement illuminates our beliefs, aspirations, and sense of justice. Throughout this exploration of Jupiter's journey through the houses, we unravel its transformative power and guiding light, embracing its blessings of prosperity, abundance, and divine guidance.
Jupiter in the 10th House:
With Jupiter gracing your tenth house of career and public recognition, you are blessed with a strong sense of purpose and a deep desire to make a positive impact in the world. Your leadership abilities are strong, and you may find that you are drawn to positions of authority or influence where you can inspire and empower others.
Success in your career is likely with Jupiter in the tenth house, especially in fields such as education, law, or spirituality. You may find that you are respected and admired by your peers, and that you are able to achieve your goals with relative ease. Your optimism and self-confidence are infectious, and you may find that you are able to inspire others to believe in themselves and reach for their dreams.
However, it's important to guard against the tendency to become overly ambitious or power-hungry in your pursuit of success. With Jupiter's influence here, there may be a temptation to prioritize external recognition and material wealth over more meaningful measures of fulfillment and happiness. Remember to stay true to your values and principles, and to use your influence and resources for the greater good.
Overall, Jupiter in the tenth house blesses you with success, prosperity, and recognition in the public sphere. Embrace the blessings of leadership and achievement, and use them to create a positive impact in your community and beyond.
Jupiter in the 11th House:
With Jupiter gracing your eleventh house of social connections and community involvement, you are blessed with a wide network of friends and acquaintances who support and inspire you on your journey. Your social circle is diverse and eclectic, and you may find that you are drawn to people from all walks of life who share your ideals and values.
Your ability to connect with others and build meaningful relationships is one of your greatest strengths. You may find that you are a natural leader within your social group, and that you are able to rally others around common goals and aspirations. Your optimism and enthusiasm are infectious, and you may find that you are able to inspire others to join you in making a positive difference in the world.
Community involvement is especially favored with Jupiter in the eleventh house, and you may find that you are drawn to causes and organizations that promote social justice and equality. Your generosity knows no bounds, and you may find fulfillment in giving back to your community and making a difference in the lives of others.
However, it's important to guard against the tendency to become overly idealistic or unrealistic in your expectations of others. With Jupiter's influence here, there may be a temptation to believe that everyone shares your vision and values, and to become disillusioned when reality falls short of your expectations. Remember to celebrate the diversity of perspectives and experiences that exist within your social circle, and to embrace the opportunities for growth and learning that come from engaging with people who are different from yourself.
Overall, Jupiter in the eleventh house blesses you with a rich tapestry of social connections, community involvement, and opportunities for growth and expansion. Embrace the blessings of friendship and collaboration, and use them to create a brighter, more inclusive world for yourself and those around you.
Jupiter in the 12th House:
With Jupiter gracing your twelfth house of spirituality and transcendence, you are blessed with a deep sense of inner peace and a profound connection to the divine. Your spiritual journey is one of profound depth and significance, leading you to explore the mysteries of existence and the nature of the soul.
Your intuition is strong, and you may find that you are able to tap into hidden realms of wisdom and insight that lie beyond the realm of ordinary perception. Your dreams are vivid and prophetic, offering guidance and illumination on your path to self-discovery and enlightenment.
Charity and compassion are central to your sense of purpose, and you may find fulfillment in acts of selfless service and devotion to others. Your empathy knows no bounds, and you may find that you are drawn to support those who are suffering or marginalized in society. Your ability to offer comfort and solace to others is a gift that brings light and healing to the world.
However, it's important to guard against the tendency to become overly escapist or avoidant in your approach to life. With Jupiter's influence here, there may be a temptation to retreat into fantasy or illusion as a means of avoiding the harsh realities of existence. Remember to stay grounded in reality and to face your fears and challenges with courage and determination.
Overall, Jupiter in the twelfth house blesses you with spiritual insight, inner peace, and a deep sense of compassion for all beings. Embrace the blessings of transcendence and enlightenment, and use them to bring light and healing to yourself and the world around you.

"A Blessing from God"
Tumblr media
Pairing:Melissa Schemmenti x Reader
Gender: hurt, very fluff.
Warnlings : (+18) strong words, mention of sex, vulgar language, homophobic coments, church talking and mention of God.
Summary:Melissa decides to accompany Barbara to church one day, she never thought she would find the love of her life there. When she realizes that the priest, meaning, your father, is homophobic, treats you badly and hurts you , decides to defend you from him and take care of you.
DON'T FORGET TO REBLOG ❤️
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-"Come on! come with me to church, I always ask you and you never go! The other day you said you'd be willing to kill for me, so come on, come on Melissa, you'll have a good time, I promise."- Barbara begged her friend for the tenth time in the same day and the redhead looked at her seriously, taking off her glasses and putting aside the notes she was reviewing
-"Barbara, killing someone is easier for me than going to church for the first time in ten years, plus I have a feeling that if I go to church, the moment I set foot inside, I'll set myself on fire or be struck by lightning and I'm too beautiful to die" -The redhead commented, laughing at the sight of her friend's face
-"Please Melissa, my husband won't be able to attend and I don't want to go alone, plus it's not a reunion thing, it's just a day of recreation in the church park, there will be food, games and music. Please think of it as a return for that time I threatened a church member because you asked me to do so to get funds for the school"-The brunette looked at her earnestly, and she sighed
-"Okay, I'll go with you, but only because I love you and because there's food, but if they try to do a group hug or want us to sing together, I'll leave," Melissa said and her friend clapped her hands excitedly
-"Perfect! I'll be waiting for you on Saturday! Really, thank you Melissa, I appreciate it so much" - The eldest replied and the redhead waved her off with her hand.
When Saturday arrived, Melissa tried to think of an excuse not to go, it's not that she didn't believe in God, her house had a couple of crosses and she wore a chain with one around her neck every day, even her family was very religious. Her faith wasn't the problem, she just didn't like going to church, she found it tedious, God was everywhere all the time, not limited to one place.
The redhead sighed, honking her horn at her friend's house and waiting for her to come out so she could drive to church. When they arrived, the two friends were a great contrast, Melissa was serious and frowning without greeting almost anyone, Barbara was smiling from ear to ear waving and talking to everyone. The eldest was very happy to be able to share this with her friend, she liked to be with her and share aspects of her life, especially those that were happy occasions like that one.
After having greeted almost everyone, along with Melissa's complaints about so many people who wated to hug her, they went to the appetizer table. While they were choosing what to eat, something, or rather someone, caught the redhead's attention. A young woman in her twenties something or thirties in a flower dress was teaching and playing with some little kids. The children looked at her adoringly, following and paying close attention to what the girl told them, she smiled the hole time looking at them with great tenderness and exaggerated her expressions to make the children laugh and keep their attention, she even made funny voices and that made the redhead laugh when she heard her talking. The children were entranced by the woman who was teaching them, and Melissa was in the same state, unable to take her eyes off the young woman, she had never seen someone who looked so angelic, even the sunlight seemed to go from her hand every time she moved, accompanying her in every step she took to establish her beautiful smile. Apparently, Melissa had stared at the young lady so much, that she had felt it and looked up scanning the crowd looking for someone, a small smile appeared on the lips of the youngest when she saw the redhead looking at her, she barely nodded her head in greeting, to return her attention to the children. So bewitched was the red-haired woman watching her that she didn't hear the five times her friend called her name, it wasn't until the older one gently tapped her arm that Melissa came back to reality
-"Where were you? I lost you for a moment, I was talking to you and you didn't listen to me"-Melissa turned to see her friend smiling like a fool
-"I was in paradise, I believe the spirit of god came into me and blessed me with a beautiful vision"-Melissa spoke jokingly- "What did you need?"
-"I was telling you that there was going to be a talent show, in case you wanted to go and see"- the eldest spoke and her friend nodded accompanying her to the stage that people had set up in the middle of the venue. As they watched the various "talents," children dancing, groups playing instruments, some comedies, and a puppet show, Melissa couldn't avoid her eyes from wonder off to the woman she'd seen before, who was closer to her than before, because she was also watching the talent show with the children. A particularly horrible singer made Melissa look back at the stage with a disgusted face, her friend laughed at the sight of her
-"I know, he sings horribly, and yet every year he comes back on stage to sing... Years ago, when the pastor's daughter showed up to sing, no one else did it because no one could compete with her, that young woman was a blessing for the ears, everyone always knew that she was the guaranteed winner, no one could overshadow her. But since she no longer performs, many dream of singing like she did..."-Barbara commented, and Melissa looked at her curiously
-"What happened to the pastor's daughter? Why doesn't she sing anymore?" - The red-haired woman asked and followed with her gaze where her friend was pointing, she was surprised to see that she was pointing to the young woman who had caught her attention since she first saw her-"Is that the pastor's daughter?" - She asked and her friend nodded sighing
-"That young woman has been through a lot, she was dating another woman from the church, when her girlfriend cheated on her and she found out, she broke up with her girlfriend, but the girlfriend got angry and told the pastor that they had been a couple for a while. The pastor couldn't bear to have a lesbian daughter so he began to punish her for her 'sin', forbade her to sing in the band where the young woman was, forbade her to participate in the church choir and removed her from all activities where there were other women. He only lets her work taking care of the children, otherwise she has to be by his side all the time... Her mother abandoned her when she was little because she couldn't stand her father anymore, her grandmother took care of her but since she passed away two years ago, she has been alone with him, suffering how he punishes her only because of her sexual orientation. He's a good man to others, but he treats her like garbage. I tried to do something for her, but since he's the pastor, they didn't pay much attention to me. In addition, the other elders and members of the church treat her like the plague because they also think that she is a sinner, as if they were not worse, cheating on their partners, having lovers and stealing money from the church..."-Her friend spoke without holding her tongue, used to speaking freely with her friend. Melissa listened very carefully to everything the eldest said about the pastor's daughter.
-"Let's say hello to her, so you can introduce her to me formally and she doesn't feel left out because some people don't greet her because of who she is" - Melissa commented and her friend agreed by walking next to the young woman
-"Good morning (Y/N)" - Barbara said, catching your attention, making you turn around smiling kindly
-"A good morning indeed dear Barbara, how are you? How is your family?" -You asked sincerely and looked at the redhead too - "Good day for you too, it's nice to see new faces here" - You said smiling at her and Melissa was convinced that miracles did exist, miracle was to see you smile
-"The family is fine, my husband had to work and that's why he didn't come, but I brought a friend to keep me company"-said the eldest waiting her friend to introduce herself, but Melissa was too dumb looking at you to interpret the situation
-"I guess you're Melissa Schemmenti, Barbara talks a lot about you, she always tells me stories from school that make me laugh, I like you even though I didn't know you before"-you replied sincerely smiling and the redhead laughed silly listening to you and clarified her voice
-"I hope she only told you the good things, a pleasure to meet you"-She kissed your cheeks in greeting and made you blush a little
-"Sadly she only told me the good things, although I still think the bad things are more fun to hear" - you replied and the redhead laughed loudly, she didn't waited that answer from you
-"Do you have time? Because I have a lot of funny stories to tell you then..." - She smiled seductively and you couldn't help but see from the corner of your eye how your father approached, making you tense, the eldest saw your change of attitude and turned to find a tall man, dressed in a suit, looking at you with seriousness, without a doubt it was your father, the pastor.
-"Good morning ladies, daughter"-greeted the man, you and Barbara returned the greeting but Melissa didn't, she just looked at him seriously.-"I couldn't help but come to say hello to the new face, it would be nice to see you again in the church, it always makes us happy to have new people" - your father commented and Melissa nodded looking at him with superiority
-"Don't worry, you will definitely see me again, I found something in your congregation that caught my attention enough to keep coming" - commented the redhead with a double meaning looking at you out of the corner of her eye, your father didn't notice thinking she was talking about the church, but Barbara and you did, making you blush, you apologize to them and walked away to continue taking care of the children. The redhead couldn't get another chance to talk to you that day.
Melissa went to church several weeks in a row after that interaction, enduring the pastor's tedious sermons, only to see you for a few minutes and talk to you. Her friend Barbara was happy to spend more time with her friend, even though she knew the true purpose of why she was going to church.
Seeing the redhead so regularly, you began to take a liking to her, she always spoke to you affectionately and made you laugh with her unexpected comments. You never imagined her as a religious woman, but you were happy to see her go to church every week. After talking to her so much, the two exchanged cell phone numbers to, according to her, "make an arrangement to go out so she could tell you more funny anecdotes".
After a couple of casual 'dates' (they weren't dates, but they weren't outings like you used to have with your friends either) you ended up going to school on open house day, Melissa invited you to hang out since according to her, many parents never attended those hours, so it would be a good time to distract yourself and laugh for a while. After you had made a homemade pizza, you went to the school to visit her. You breathed a sigh of relief when you saw a familiar face when you passed Barbara, who looked at you in surprise to see you there. After explaining to the eldest that her friend had invited you, she explained where the redhead was and you went in search of her.
You spent the whole night with her, eating, chatting, taking a tour of the school and her classroom, even playing poker together. Melissa had so many more entertaining and funny stories, you could spend hours listening to her. Unfortunately you had such a good time with her that time was always short, it was never enough. Before you knew it it was time to go home, without much encouragement you said goodbye to her and left.
Melissa was gathering her last belongings when her friend Barbara entered the room, a small laugh escaped the older one when she saw how the redhead smiled, whenever she saw you she smiled much more than usual, even her mood was better
-"Someone's happy... It had never occurred to me that you would invite her here, it's one thing to go to church to see her, but it's another thing to invite her to your work and introduce it to all your colleagues..." - the eldest commented and Melissa raised her shoulders smiling
-"We've become good friends over the past few months, I like her company, she is funny, she is nice to be around, she..."-she started talking without thinking and smiling like a fool thinking about you
-"I think you don't just like her company, I think you like her... Could it be that Melissa Schemmenti is in love with the pastor's daughter?" - The older one joked and Melissa just laughed
-"Don't talk nonsense Barbara, let's go or they're going to close the school with us inside" - The redhead said and walked into the parking lot with her
-"Since you're such good 'friends', did she tell you that tomorrow is her birthday?" - Barbara asked and the redhead denied -"they are going to celebrate it in a restaurant, you should come with me, I'm sure it will make her very happy to see you there"-The redhead nodded excitedly but couldn't help the pain she felt at having to find out from someone else that it was your birthday and that you weren't the one who invited her.
The next day, the red-haired woman dressed in her finest clothes and went to the address her friend gave. It was a very fine restaurant and with almost all the tables occupied, in one of them, there was you, your father, a girl with a baby that she didn't know and some people from the church, Barbara hadn't arrived yet. At the end of the table sat your father and next to him you, with a very serious face and she saw that you were uncomfortable, whenever he was close to you, you looked uncomfortable.
Melissa came to your side smiling and hugging you from behind, she hoped that it would make you happy to see her, but you only looked surprised and a little sad
-"Melissa... What are you doing here?" - You whispered and didn't hug her back, that hurt a little bit but she didn't let it show
-"Barbara told me that today was your birthday, since you never told me or invited me, I thought I would surprise you" - commented the redhead seeing how your eyes were a little watery-"Doesn't it make you happy that I'm here?"- she asked with pain in her voice
-"It's not that, I'm happy to see you" - you replied quickly-"it's just that..."
-"Melissa!" - Your father interrupted you to greet the redhead, who barely looked at him, she didn't like your father and she didn't do anything to hide it-"It's good to see you here, I asked my daughter who she wanted to see on her birthday but she didn't tell me anyone, so I invited who I thought she would want to see, sorry for not thinking of you."-Your father said in a kind tone that hid contempt
-"I didn't tell you anyone because I didn't want to celebrate... And you came up with the idea of inviting my ex with his partner and his son, among people I barely talked to...Thank you for that, father"-You commented sarcastically, you weren't in a good mood, you hated your birthday, and your father knew it
-"I invited more people, but they didn't want to come because they know what you're... And I only invited her because I thought she would be a good influence to you, you used to be very good "friends" and she is now with a man, I invited her to see if her way of being sticks with you"-He commented defiantly and you sighed, it was too early on the night and there were too many people to argue so you just put your head down, there was no point in responding to that comment. Melissa stood between you and your father, acting as a human shield with her body, preventing your father from looking at you
-"Really? Is the woman who not only had sex outside of marriage, but committed adultery and cheated, a good example? A woman whose only reason to confess her sin is that she couldn't abort that child because she realized too late that she was pregnant of her lover , that's your good example? I knew you were homophobic but not an idiot and a moron too-Melissa said angrily and turned to look at you, but you were no longer behind her, you were no longer in the restaurant. After searching for you for a few minutes, she found you outside the restaurant hugging yourself because of how cold the night had gotten. She carefully walked over and pulled her leather jacket over your shoulders
-"hey... Are you okay honey?"- She asked with real concern and saw that you were crying when you turned to look at her
-"I wanted you here... I wanted to spend my birthday with you, you're probably the only person I want to spend it with... But I didn't invite you because I knew this was going to happen, I hate celebrating my birthday, I don't have anyone to spend it with, I don't have my mother, I don't have my friends anymore and thanks to my father no one from the church wants to be seen with me. I hate my birthday because since my grandmother died, there is nothing about this date that makes me happy, there is no one to celebrate with me, celebrate me. This date is only useful to tell me everything I've been doing wrong all the years of my life. I didn't invite you because I feel like you're the only good thing left in my life and I didn't want to ruin that by getting you together with my father"-You sighed in pain and teary eyes, immediately the redhead hugged you to her chest, hiding you in her embrace
-"I'm sorry sweetheart, I didn't know, you don't deserve any of this, your father doesn't deserve to have you" - she whispered and kissed the crown of your head-"I've got an idea. What if we leave right now? We're already outside..."-she smiled
-"Where? What about my dad" - You asked just walking away from her so you could see her face but still hugging her
-"He can suck it, let's go home, I can cook for you, maybe gnocchi, I remember you telling me it was your favorite food when your grandmother cooked for you. We can watch a movie. If you want we can invite Barbara and the guys from school, you know they love you, maybe put a karaoke on TV and sing a little, I also have ice cream at home. What do you think?-The redhead asked with a big smile looking into your eyes, she wanted to do everything to make you happy. Without you being able to think or process what you were doing, you kissed her. No one had ever cared enough about you to defend you from your father and take care of you as she did. The redhead was shocked and stood still, causing you to pull away in embarrassment. Even if she didn't reciprocate the kiss, she did grab your waist tighter
-"I'm so sorry Mel, I don't know what got hold of me, I wasn't thinking clearly... I'm sorry..." -You murmured quickly and she caressed your cheek affectionately
-"Don't apologize sweetheart, you didn't do anything wrong, but is better if we go home, then we can give each other as many kisses as you want, but not here because your father can come out at any moment to yell at us, and I don't know if this time I will be able to contain my desire to hit him"-The redhead spoke in her strong Phili accent and you nodded as you got into her car.
After a short trip, the two arrived at Melissa's house. You really appreciated what she was doing for you, she was a woman who was very protective of her personal space and didn't invite just anyone to her home, you felt privileged to be there. While she was cooking, you looked at the pictures that were all over the house, she looked so happy in all of them, even the ones where she was fighting with her sister. Your body jumped a little when you felt the redhead hug you from behind, she ran her hands around your waist and rested them on your abdomen, resting her head on your shoulder
-"The food is almost done" - she whispered in your ear, you smiled and relaxed in her arms leaning more against the woman's body - "How are you feeling? Do you want me to invite the others?" - she asked softly and you shook your head
-"No, I just want to be with you, if that's okay with you. I'm calmer now, I feel relaxed and safe..." You commented sincerely, and the redhead smiled as she heard you.
-"It's your special day, we'll do everything you want"-the eldest whispered and kissed your cheek, carefully, she reached into her pocket and took out a small delicately wrapped package and put it in your hands-"happy birthday darling" - you smiled looking at her and when you opened it, you found a chain with a gold cross, you looked at the woman's neck and saw that she was missing her cross, the gift was her necklace, the one she wore every day and that you always admired because of how delicate it looked. You examined the gift, you saw that it was engraved "God loves you just as you are." You smiled more with your eyes a little watery
-"It's beautiful"-You whispered smiling, she took it out of your hands and placed it on your neck gently, giving you a small kiss on your lips, barely noticeable but it made you blush
-"Now you'll have something to remind you of me and remind you that there's nothing wrong with you, you're perfect" - she whispered and kissed your forehead, her thumb wiping a small tear that run down your cheek, then she hugged your waist-"Now let's eat before it gets cold"
Carefully and still hugging you, she led you into the kitchen and made you sit on the counter while she put a large portion of gnocchi on a plate with a great amount of cheese. Delicately she spread your legs and positioned herself in the middle with the plate in hand, with the fork, pricked a couple of potato doughnuts, blew them and put them in your mouth for you to eat, it was fucking delicious. You stayed like that for a long time, the two eating from the same plate in comfortable silence while looking at each other adoringly.
When you finished, Mel put the plate on the counter and took your hand gently caressing it
-"Would you like us to take a bath together? Maybe watch a movie in bed together after that..." - she whispered and kissed your hand-" or do you want to do it alone?... "
-"I would like do it with you"-You answered just in a whisper and she nodded going up the stairs with you and guiding you to the bathroom of the room, once there, she began to undress after having filled the bathtub. For your part, the only thing you could do was admire her, she was a beautiful woman and her body was too, her body was not like a young woman's, it was the body of a experienced lady, some marks here and some there, but that only made her more perfect. Melissa turned to see if you were undressing, but when she saw how you looked at her, a shiver ran through her body, you didn't look at her with lust, you looked at her with all the love in the world, as if she were the most beautiful woman in the whole universe. Carefully she came over and hugged you by the waist making you come out of your trance, delicately she put her hands under your blouse and helped you undress, then together you got into the bathtub, she behind and you in front of her, resting your back on her chest and closing your eyes. Not a word was shared, but it wasn't necessary at all. Mel carefully stroked your hair, massaging and washing it, kissing your shoulder every now and then
-"Mel?" - Your voice broke the comfortable silence, she hummed encouraging you to continue. You turned your head sideways to look at her out of the corner of your eye, and she smiled- "Why do you do all this?... The food, letting me come to your house, confronting my father, the necklace, the bath, the affection?..."
-"Because you deserve it, you deserve to be celebrated and happy, you deserve to feel loved, you deserve all the love..."-The redhead took your cheek and caressed it- "You deserve to be happy and I want to be one of the reasons that make you smile" - She smiled looking into your eyes and kissed you gently, as if you had all the time in the world, as if nothing and no one else existed. She kissed you like if you were all she needed to live. You had a long time kissing and enjoying each other's company, until the water got cold and you had to get out. Melissa carefully dried your body and then gave you one of her squared shirts to wear to sleep. Together you lay on the bed and you snuggled up on her chest to watch a movie, before you knew it, you had already fallen asleep while she was hugging you and playing with your hair. The best birthday of your life.
The next morning, you woke up late and Melissa was no longer in bed, you carefully went down watching her make breakfast while she hummed a song, you carefully hugged her from behind and rested your head on her back, the redhead smiled and turned to hug you against her chest kissing the crown of your head, the aroma of food and her perfume relaxed you more
-"I don't think I've ever slept so relaxed and peaceful in my life, I feel safe when you're near me" you murmured and kissed her lips softly
-"I'm glad to hear that... By the way, you look beautiful in my shirt" - she commented and you laughed against her lips-"We need to have breakfast quickly tho, I have one more birthday surprise" - she murmured smiling and you frowned
-"Another? You've already given me a gift and done a lot for me, I don't want anything else" - you replied and she made you sit at the table serving you a plate
-"Believe me, you want to see this gift" - she whispered with a knowing smile. After you had breakfast, you changed and went out to where the redhead had planned, she didn't want to give you any clues. She parked at the church and that confused you
-"Mel, I don't want to go to church today, I know it's Sunday but I don't want to cross paths with my father... Not after he saw me go with you last night, a woman he noticed I was attracted to. He will put us to shame."-You whispered and watched as the redhead opened your door, reaching out for you to take her hand
-"Do you trust me?" -She asked and you nodded taking her hand and getting out of the car -"Then come on, I promise not to leave you alone and if you feel bad, we can leave."
The two of you walked through the doors, seeing how your father was already on stage. After welcoming everyone, he said something that left you frozen
-"Since today, I will step down from my position as priest, I have not fulfilled my duties as a loving father or as a loving guide of this church, for which I ask forgiveness. So I'll be replaced by a new priest..."-After he had finished introducing the new priest, he stepped off the platform and walked over to you, his hands in a fist and his teeth clenched. Never in your life did you imagine that your father would leave his position, much less admit in front of everyone, what a bad father he had been. He would have preferred you to disappear than leave his position and lose his influence. You knew he didn't feel any real regrets from his heart, but it was progress anyway.
From one second to the next, your father was in front of you, watching Melissa hold your hand. He glared at the redhead angrily
-"Are you happy? I did everything you said..." - He muttered under his breath
-"Almost, you need to sincerely apologize to your daughter" - The older woman commented authoritatively
-"I'm..." - Your father started to speak but gritted his teeth as Melissa hugged you around the waist, he shook his head and narrowed his eyes looking at you -"My daughter, what are you doing? Think things through, I already told you that if you start dating her or any other woman, I don't want you to go back home or to church, you'll become a bad influence, a bad person if you do this. You won't go to heaven, please think about it... You don't want God to stop loving you, huh?"-You sighed listening to him, it was always the same, manipulative shit to make you feel bad about yourself.
-"Okay, that's enough" - Melissa stopped him - "I see you're not going to apologize, so say goodbye to your position forever, also to all your 'powerful friends' and to your reputation, I'll make sure you don't get taken back in any church around the world. If your daughter wants to go back to church, she can do so, but you can't. Oh! And your daughter isn't coming home anymore, you know why? 'Cause she's going to move in with me and we'll have a lot of lesbian sex all day long"-The redhead said, facing your father. The color left the man's face, Melissa knew something you didn't, something that could ruin your father's reputation and life forever. He no longer had power over you, which made you feel relief and proudly stick out your chest
-"You know what dad? I may no be the best person, but I'm far from the worst. All my life you made me feel ashamed of myself, you made me feel that because I loved someone different that what you wanted, I didn't deserve to be loved by God or anyone else. I'd rather go to hell for having loved than for having hated like you hate me. I hope that now that you've lost your position, you really see what people think of you... I hope you change your horrible way of being, because you do have things to change, things that should make you ashamed, but I have nothing to be ashamed of. Thanks to Melissa I saw that, because she really loves me, not like you, who only pretended to show me affection when there were people around. Good luck living alone, you don't even know how to make toast... And one more thing, I want this to be the last thing you remember about me"-You commented and kissed the redhead very passionately and then walked out of the church hugging Mel.
When you two got in the car, the adrenaline left your body and you started laughing nervously
-"You threatened a priest, my father, for me?"- you asked looking at Mel and she nodded as she drove-"What if you go to hell?"
-"I had already earned my place in hell years ago, but I'd better make sure of it by defending my favorite girl from her abusive father" - Melissa smiled and placed one of her hands on your thigh while still driving
-"Thanks for that... For all of the things that you have done for me... But Mel, it is true that I have a place to stay with you? - You asked barely audible and she nodded
-"Yeah hon, we're going to go get your stuff right now" - she smiled as she stopped at a traffic light and gave you a peck on your lips- "I've already experienced once what it's like to sleep next to you, I'm not going to let you go... Also, we have to inspect every corner of the house together, if you know what I mean..."-she said with double meaning and laughed at your face , ypu were exited and very eager. This woman turned your life upside down from one moment to the next. From the first time you saw her, she was a true blessing for your life.
Bonus Lore: Crowns of Old, Part III
[ Part I | Part II ]
Back with another lore drop from the Patreon!! This time we'll be looking at the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Crowns ✨
The Eighth Crown: Bargiran of Great Mercy
When speaking of Crowns that are of more humble backgrounds, Crown Bargiran is the one that comes to mind first. Due to the plague that swept through Arsur during the reign of Crown Lorîcan, Bargiran lost both her parents and was orphaned at a young age. Her older sister did her best to take care of them both, but she was only barely an adult herself, and they struggled greatly. Many nights were spent sleeping on the streets and begging for scraps of food.
It was Bargiran's great fortune that they were found, yet it was even greater fortune to Arsur. Bargiran had an uncanny talent in healing magic. Many of her days as an orphan was spent helping at a public health clinic in exchange for food, where she quickly discovered her talent for magic, and especially her talent for healing and alchemy.
Shortly after, Crown Lorîcan received her vision, which showed her Bargiran. At this point, Lorîcan had already imprisoned her previous Sorcerer months before. As the plague continued to sweep through the lands, unabated, she knew that she was running out of time to find her successor. There was a real risk that Bargiran could die before Lorîcan could find her, in which case there could be an unprecedented crisis in Arsur.
No one knew what would happen should the successor die before they could officially receive the Blessing of the spirits during their coronation. Some scholars worried that it would bring the line of Crowns to an end. As such, no resource was spared to find Bargiran. Thankfully, she was found before disaster could strike.
Unfortunately, Lorîcan's tutelage was extremely short-lived. Only weeks after finding her successor, she would show signs of being infected herself, and within days she passed away. Bargiran became the Crown at the young age of sixteen--the youngest a Crown has ever taken the throne--and made it her sole purpose to put an end to the plague. Either by finding a cure, or by curbing it as much as possible.
It was upon her coronation that she chose the name Bargiran for herself, meaning "one whose burden is heavy". She knew it would be an incredibly difficult task. It would take ten years before Bargiran, together with expert healers from all over Arsur and even beyond, would find a cure. The need for it became even more dire for Bargiran personally when her sister fell ill.
Bargiran worked herself to exhaustion, famously fainting during a court meeting and falling off the stairs of the throne room, nearly breaking her neck were it not for her Royal Protector. Eventually, her efforts bore fruit, and after a long, devastating decade, Bargiran found a cure at the young age of twenty-six years old.
However, it was a great tragedy that she could not find the cure in time to save her sister. People far and wide considered Bargiran to be one of the greatest Crowns in history, likening her to a savior, yet Bargiran never forgave herself for not being able to cure her sister in time. While she helped Arsur heal from its wounds, Bargiran would never be able to heal herself.
The Ninth Crown: Beloved Dila
Dila became the Crown during a time of relative peace; there were no wars to be fought, and Arsur had finally reached a point of stability. Dila’s reign was best known for the flourishing of arts and culture within the Empire. In fact, it was during her/their reign that pleasure houses grew into the influence they now possess.
Crown Dila was known for being a beauty without compare. It wasn’t solely their looks, but also their innate charm that drew people to them; rather, her charm enhanced her appearance into something of almost mythical proportions. A few historians have encountered accounts that say that Crown Dila’s magic itself was the cause, that she possessed a peculiar aura that wasn’t quite elemental in nature, but rather one that enchanted onlookers. These accounts were not verified, however, and officially Crown Dila’s magic is listed to have been an Earth affinity.
Centuries later, poets still compose verses referring to Crown Dila, describing rosewater flowing from their darkly coiled tresses, or the light of the moon held in the night of her eyes. There is even a famous story written of Crown Dila’s encounter with the peri queen, where it is said Dila charmed even Queen Nis and was granted a blessing by her that would ensure a long, peaceful reign.
During their lifetime, Dila had the most lovers out of any Crown to date. Their royal concubines numbered into the two dozen at their largest recorded size, though Dila formally courted only four people during their reign; all four became Jewels of the Crown as well. Dila was very free with her affections, but also selective in who she romanced, even casually.
Their royal concubines were almost all artists, of various kinds. Painters, sculptors, dancers, singers, musicians, poets, writers and storytellers, even weavers of cloth and carpets—Dila greatly admired and loved all kinds of artistic expression.
Being a royal concubine usually meant to be committed to the Crown, but Dila went against convention and allowed their concubines to court whomever they wished. Many of Dila’s concubines were artists who worked for pleasure houses, and thanks to gaining Dila’s favor, their pleasure houses rose in status as well.
The Tenth Crown: Love-blind Jiyan
Jiyan was known for her/his/their love for life. It was undoubtedly the influence of their mentor, Crown Dila, who was famous for guiding Arsur into an age where the arts would flourish. This continued under Jiyan's reign, as he was equally fond of all the best things life had to offer. Perhaps to an excess.
While Jiyan was a very capable Crown, especially good at navigating difficult diplomatic relations, they were also a very passionate person who tended to have an impulsive streak. Early in her reign this was brushed off, as everyone assumed Jiyan would mature into her role. He was only crowned at the age of twenty, after all, and would gain wisdom with time and experience.
Unfortunately, no one could anticipate the disaster that Jiyan's impulses would drag Arsur into.
It started as an innocent flirtation. Jiyan noticed the provincial army commander of Zerat during one of their court meetings. The commander in question, Asin, reported to the Crown regarding conflicts with some rebellious nobles within the province.
Jiyan was immediately taken with him. Commander Asin was of equal age to Jiyan, very accomplished at only twenty-eight years of age, and also said by some to have an appearance that was quite pleasing to the eye. Jiyan would find excuses to talk to him while he stayed at the palace, and Asin--very flattered the Crown would give him any attention at all--indulged her quite readily.
Soon, Asin found himself seeking out Jiyan as often as Jiyan would visit him. With the Royal Palace being in Zeratun, where Jiyan preferred to stay, it was very easy for the two to see each other whenever they wanted. Before either of them realized it, what had started as playful banter quickly spiraled out of control over the next few weeks.
It became a whispered rumor among the servants that the Crown had started to invite Zerat's army commander to his chambers. Jiyan's Sorcerer and Royal Protector already knew, of course, but they didn't think it necessary to intervene. The Imperial Court, however, had other thoughts.
They confronted Jiyan on her relationship with Asin during a court meeting. While some were clearly taking advantage of the rumors to weaken Jiyan's position, others had sincere reservations about whether it was a good idea to take a subordinate in charge of a sizable portion of the military as a lover. Zerat's army was the largest and strongest out of all the provinces, eclipsing even the Imperial Army at the time.
Jiyan dismissed their concerns, and the matter was closed, albeit not settled. While Jiyan and Asin's relationship had started out well, over time, they started to argue more and more. Not about their relationship, but about military matters. It soured their romance, both having part of the blame. Asin started voicing opinions on the Imperial Army which was far beyond his station, and Jiyan started belittling Asin's opinions on matters he did have expertise in.
The last straw came when Jiyan ordered Asin to round up the rebellious nobles and officially imprison them. Asin knew it would inflame the situation, but he was also incensed to be condescended to yet again, for a moment forgetting his rank. His outright refusal infuriated Jiyan who, in another moment of impulsiveness, stripped Asin of his rank.
To Asin, it felt like betrayal of the worst kind. He was disgraced, humiliated. To the servants and guards who witnessed the huge blow-up between the two, it came as little surprise when a few weeks later, reports came in that Zerat's provincial army had joined the ranks of the rebels and had begun an uprising in earnest.
Jiyan was struck with shame and regret, at many things. How he had treated Asin, and even having begun a relationship with Asin to begin with. The civil war that followed was a bloody one, though it was confined to Zerat and put down within the year.
The Crown was not present for any of the battles, or for Asin's eventual capture and execution. She never spoke of him again, and it was understood that one should never mention his name in Jiyan's presence.
The civil war that was waged during their reign became known as the War of Lovers.
A guide to surviving the House of the Hearth
── ୨୧:arlecchino & reader
୨୧﹑synopsis :: as the newest addition to the ever-growing house of the hearth, it is important that you are very acquainted with the rules of living there and what it means for your life from now on, for better and for worse
୨୧﹑genre :: I still don't know what this is
୨୧﹑content :: gn reader, child reader, reader doesn't explicitly show up but is referenced as if they are being spoken to, reader is implied to be mute
୨୧﹑words :: 1k
I promise you honeys I am not dead but I did like go through the wringer a bit like I was PROPER living the a/n life I like got sick for a whole week then I fell and slid on concrete and it was a whole thing yet somehow my glasses stayed on?? anyway you did not come to hear about what an accident waiting to happen I am have this food
Tumblr media
I started working on two separate fics that require the House of the Hearth recently which means that I had to come up with hcs for it. So, little one, I bring you the rulebook on how to survive your stint in the Tenth Harbinger's orphanage.
How did you even find your way there? Well, you were far too young to remember it, but it was something that caused Arlecchino to find you, uneager to be seen and hardly enthusiastic about conversation. Somehow she had managed to make herself seem more inviting than the underside of the bed you were hiding under, soft and inviting—a gentle guiding light holding out her hand to lead you to safety.
Rule one. While all children may be messy, they are not to leave their messes about. Any toys should be packed away, any spills should be cleaned, as should any utensils that happen to find their way into the hands of children. Nothing should be dirtier than it was when you found it, even if that means asking one of the matrons how to get blood out of fabric and the hardwood floors.
Rule two. You're to eat as much of your food as you can at the table. Not liking it is hardly an excuse, especially if you won't even try it. Receiving food at all is a luxury for orphans who would otherwise be uncared for and on their own. Picky eating will only get you in trouble. Even if you don't like it, stomaching it with a grimace is a break in your composure that will only be a detriment to you in the future.
Rule three. All children should be blessed with the ability to read and write. It is just as valuable as the skill to fight. Silent communication is very useful, also a reason to be familiar with sign language. The importance of knowledge should not be understated, because once you learn to read and write, you have access to anything and everything in literature, even things people don't want you to know as you peek quietly over their shoulder.
Rule four. It's a pivotal skill to know how to play nice even in the face of spats and disagreements with your playmates. If you can't, people won't like you, and you'll be all alone. Everyone is family, and family puts each other first, even if not related by blood. You have no family anymore and are in most desperate need of one. Everything else was just like you once, and they're always happy to accept a new little bird like you.
Rule five. Honestly is important, but only to the right people. Outsiders don't know the luxury of the House of the Hearth the way those inside do. They don't know how wonderful your childhood is now compared to before and they're raring to send you back to that. You shouldn't allow anyone to learn too much and shouldn't let someone ignorant of that speak on your behalf. The people should only know lies, while the matrons should know everything.
Rule six. Your bedtime is the same as everyone else's, and you are to sleep when told. A good night's rest is important when you spend the next day hard at work running and jumping. You need lots of energy to lug heavy weaponry around and it's always nice to have a bit more rest to get you through the day.
Rule seven. Slackers who don't so their chores are sent to timeout, and there no joy in timeout. No fidgeting, no sitting, no noises out of you, even the ones you make when you need something. You will have to stand in the corner and wait until a matron decides you're ready to cooperate and contribute like everyone else. But you won't need to be warned that way, will you?
Rule eight. Playtime is a gruelling thing sometimes and that's good. Children push, and adults are not easy to face. The world you will grow into will not be kind to you, and in return you mustn't be kind to it either. You should know how to handle yourself, and how to survive when the situation is against you, especially if you can't call for help. Those who can't play shouldn't expect to know how to live in a world that doesn't want them.
Rule nine. Fatui affairs are not for the eyes of children, and you shouldn't stick your nose in them. Once you know too much, there's no way to have your little mind, and the consequences are…well, you shouldn't listen to how bad it can be, even that is more than enough to scare you. You won't break that one, will you?
Rule ten. It is because of Father that you are able to live this life and treasure your childhood, and her word is more important than anything else. Arlecchino is your overseer and the one who enables you to live such a spoiled life as you do now that you live in the House of the Hearth. You must repay her generosity handsomely.
Children who don't make the cut are sent off to the Doctor, children who disobey the rules are sent off to the Doctor, and children who aren't grateful for the new lives they've been given are sent off to the Doctor and it is not to get a checkup. You don't want that, do you?
Arlecchino is a lenient Harbinger by the standard of the Fatui, generous enough to believe that every child has its own uses, even those with what would seem like drawbacks to the untrained eye at a glance. The children must give back in return, and you will surely be doing a lot of giving from now on.
the pawn in every lover's game (part one)
Aemond Targaryen x Lannister!Reader
When you’re ten, your father sends you to King's Landing to befriend a princess and woo a prince.
A lioness growing up amongst dragons is a dangerous thing indeed.
crossposted on ao3
word count: 3.2k
Reader is a Lannister with she/her pronouns but she's not described. Her mother isn't described so I'm leaving her up to reader's choice for her appearance
On your tenth name day, a squire tells you that your father requests that you go to his solar after you break your fast in the morning. It’s an odd request - Jason Lannister, for all his friendly charm, was hardly made to be a father, especially to the gaggle of five girls that the Gods had blessed or cursed him with depending on who you asked. Your mother’s face seizes at the request, her eyes turning sharp, and your eldest sister, Cerelle, looks anxious.
You didn’t question it. You were, at the end of the day, only a girl, your father’s third daughter, and who were you to question things?
When you leave the dining room, your mother, Lady Johanna Lannister, follows behind and when you enter your father’s solar, she doesn’t leave your side to stand by her husband’s. She stands tall next to you, hands folded delicately in front of her, as she stares down the Lord of Casterly Rock.
Jason merely smiles, gesturing a hand out to you from behind his desk. “Come here, sweet girl,” he says and, after a moment of hesitation, you walk to stand next to him. His hand grasps yours, covering it completely.  “You’re ten now. That's a very big occasion.”
You nod, knowing that your father doesn’t really want a response.  His smile grows and he opens a drawer in his desk, pulling out a beautiful golden box. He hands it to you and you glance over at your mother in question. Her face reveals nothing and you open the box.
A golden necklace glimmers back at you, a shining sapphire sparkling in the centerpiece. Your mouth drops open - you’re a Lannister, a daughter of the richest house in Westeros, but your father had never given you such an expensive gift before. You were only a girl, not even flowered yet. The time for such jewels would come later when it was time for you to secure a husband.
Your mind suddenly catches up and your hands tighten on the box, feeling the weight of the necklace as if it was the size of Casterly Rock itself.
Your father doesn’t notice, however, and his hand comes down heavy on your shoulder. “You’re nearly a woman now,” he teases, voice warm and teasing. “I imagine you’re growing tired of being here, underfoot Cerelle and Tyshara, and caring for your younger sisters. How would you like to go to stay with your uncle? See the capital and all it has to offer?”
It’s phrased as a question but even at ten, you know better. Regardless of what you say, your father will get what he wants. You offer him a smile, your face feeling as if it’s frozen. “I would like nothing more.”
“Princess Helaena needs a friend. Would you like to be that friend, sweetling?”
Another command framed like a question.
You nod, feeling the walls closing in. Jason smiles and lets go of your shoulder, giving your cheek a pinch as he rises to his feet. “Tyland will be arriving by the end of the week to fetch you. You will leave soon after. The princess… she has brothers. Perhaps you could be a companion to them as well? I hear the oldest two are both near your age.”
There it is.
You glance over at your mother and she’s a second too slow to wipe the expression off her face. She looks vengeful as if she could reach and strike Jason down if she thought she could get away with it. You look back at your father and nod again, this time more slowly.
Jason beams and you idly wonder if your father has ever looked quite so proud of you as he does at this moment. “You will bring honor and strength to House Lannister, my sweet girl.”
By being a dear friend to a princess or by snagging myself a prince?
You smile at your father and he gives you an awkward pat on the head before he strides out of the room, no doubt heading somewhere where he was free to ignore his duties as Warden of the West.
Johanna crosses the room to you, lowering herself to look directly into your eyes. “Speak the truth,” she says, her voice gentle even as her eyes are sharp and searching. “Do you want to go to King’s Landing? Do you want to be tied up in the royal family?”
Your immediate answer is no. You never want to leave Casterly Rock, never want to leave your shining castle by the Sunset Sea. This was your home. The thought of riding across the continent to live in a famously stinking city, away from your mother and sisters, and surrounded by liars and cheats fills you with dread.
But then your father’s words repeat themselves in your mind.
Honor and strength to House Lannister.
You were a third daughter. Cerelle was the grandest prize amongst the Lannister pride, the firstborn and the heir if your mother didn’t bear a son soon. She would have her pick of the lot and lords from the Westerlands and other kingdoms would sue for her hand. Tyshara was a great beauty and there was no doubt that your father’s bannermen would scramble to secure a marriage with her. There would be no such fight for you or your even younger sisters.
Securing a prince would bring more than prestige to House Lannister. It would give you the power to protect your younger sisters, the power to make them matches worthy of them. You could throw the weight of the royal family behind them. Your house was strong but it could be stronger still and you could be the one to raise its standing.
All it would take was claiming a prince as yours.
You nod sharply. “I will go to King’s Landing, mother.”
She looks at you carefully, eyes scanning for a sign of weakness before she smiles slowly. Despite her looks and Westerling origins, Johanna Lannister has always been more of a lion than your father. “Remember, little one, you are a lioness of the Rock. You are the blood of kings. Not even two hundred years ago, princes would be fighting for your hand. We may have bent the knee to the dragon but you will never cower before them. What are our family words?”
“Hear us roar,” you reply, feeling your chest grow warm and suddenly, the sapphire necklace in your hands doesn’t feel as heavy as it use to.
Your mother’s smile grows.
--------------------------------
Princess Helaena reminds you of your younger sister Jeyne. She’s quiet and reserved but, when you sit with her as she plays with her bugs, she practically lights up. She leans in close, never touching even if her hair falls into your face, and holds caterpillars and centipedes with the same care most girls show puppies and kittens. She tells you facts about them, rattling off information while keeping her eyes glued to whatever small creature she held. It’s so charming that you can ignore the fact that the objects of her affection slithered and squirmed in her pretty hands.
“The praying mantis always kills her partner after mating,” Helaena whispers as if she’s telling you a salacious secret. The green bug crawls over her knuckles, making its way up her dress sleeve. “And a lioness will burn blood to protect her pride.”
You pause, hands stilling over your embroidery hoop. “What do you mean by that, my princess?”
Helaena blinks at you before smiling slowly. “Has your mother not explained mating to you? Or your septa?”
You stare at the princess but her face doesn’t shift from anything but her teasing smile. You let out a sigh. “Somewhat,” you confess absentmindedly, still thinking about her strange words as you continue to work on your stitched handkerchief. She did that often. Sometimes she would look at you as if she was looking straight through you, off into the distance. When she first met you, rather than her name, she had said “Claws of gold tearing through the sea, claws of green shattering delight.”.
Even your uncle with all his wit had not been able to think up a response.
Weeks of serving as her companion have taught you to ignore it when she has her moments but it still alarms you when it happens. Helaena can never explain herself after, either feigning or truly forgetting whatever strange thing she said. Sometimes, she would clam up entirely and no matter how long you sat with her and tried to coax out something, she would refuse to speak.
Even still, Helaena is possibly the sweetest person you’ve ever met with even her oddities carrying charm.
“Your brothers are arriving back today, aren’t they?” You ask as you finish off the golden mane of your embroidered lion.
Helaena nods as she gently places her praying mantis back in its glass container. “Aegon and Aemond at least. Daeron will remain in Oldstown.”
You nod. “It’s nice that your brothers could accompany him to his wardship.”
“I was supposed to go too until… Well, I got to say goodbye to him here,” Helaena finishes lamely and you wince.
Until you.
Your arrival hadn’t been a big deal by any means but apparently, the Queen Alicent had insisted on Helaena being there to personally receive you. The royal family, it would seem, was desperate to remain in House Lannister’s good graces, and leaving you, a daughter of Casterly Rock, unaccompanied would have been an insult to you and your house.
It was yet another way that Helaena proved her sweetness. If you had been the one kept back from accompanying one of your sisters to their new home for a stranger, you certainly wouldn’t have had it in you to be kind and friendly.
“Are you excited?” You hastily ask, trying to fill in the awkward silence before it had a chance to grow.
Helaena nods, folding her hands in her lap. “Aegon can be mean sometimes but he does care. He brings me toys and other things he finds. Aemond likes to read with me when he has time. He’s always studying or training otherwise. I think you’d get along if you can drag him from his books.”
You tilt your head, thinking about what you had heard about the two. Prince Aegon was a notorious flirt, more known for chasing the skirts of the servant girls than anything else. You didn’t imagine you would be much interest to him. While your looks may be tempting to him, it was not as if he could get away with deflowering you as easily as he could with his preferred girls especially considering your age. He wouldn’t have any interest in you for a least a couple of years - at least, no interest that would help your plans. Prince Aemond could be easier - you liked to read though perhaps not as much as the prince himself.
All you really know about Aemond is his lack of a dragon - it was all most people talked about when King Viserys’s second son was brought up. When you had pressed Uncle Tyland for details, he had confessed that he didn’t know much more about the prince in question, just that the Queen adored him and he was quite the studious young boy.
Helpful information but not much.
You sigh, pushing your needle through your handkerchief. “I’m eager to meet them.”
Helaena grins, looking even more girlish than normal. “I’m sure.”
“And what do you mean by that, my princess?” You ask, shooting her a sideways look.
She laughs. “I remember how badly you liked the song the singer was playing for us last night. The one about the prince and his lady wife.”
“The sad one where they both died and couldn’t be together?” You sourly ask, attacking your embroidery with a bit more vigor. “I cried over it, my princess. I didn’t love it.”
“Love and tragedy are bedfellows if you allow them to be,” Helaena replies, her tone flat and empty, and when you look up to question her, your needle slips from your fingers, punching straight into your finger.
You cry out in pain, leaping to your feet, and Helaena, alarmed, follows. Tears jump to your eyes and, scowling, you swallow thickly to force them down. Your wound isn’t too bad but it’s embarrassing to see the blood trickling doing your finger and it stings something awful.
“Are you alright?” Helaena frets, wringing her hands anxiously, and you nod, sucking in air, as you reach for a spare piece of fabric to press against your wound.
“It’s not bad, Helaena,” you reply, too caught up to remember your courtesies. “It’s just… I have to let it staunch itself.” You look up and Helaena looks paler than normal, nearly as white as snow, giving you pause. “Are… Are you okay?”
She waves her hand, looking away from you pointedly. “I just don’t… I don’t like blood.” She finishes quietly.
You let out a sigh, feeling something clench in your heart at her tone. She really is like Jeyne. “Shall we head to the gardens instead? I’ll find that one book about Dorne and its beetles to read to you.”
Helaena nods, still looking rather peakish, and you send her off, giving the excuse that you need to find the book when the truth was that you needed to wrap your finger up better. You didn’t want her around to see the sight of your blood for much longer.
With a sigh, you unwrap your finger and wince. It was slightly worse than you expected - the angle you had been holding your hoop meant that your needle had pierced through a chunk of skin to the other side, leaving a rather gnarly-looking wound. Not serious enough to warrant the maester but bad enough that you needed to actually clean it.
Sighing, you look around the sitting room, spotting the jug of water some maids had left for the two of you across the room. You walk over and, lifting it up, prepare to soak a spare scrap.
At least, you would have if the door had not slammed open at that exact moment.
You squeak, surprised, and your hold on the jug loosens to the point you almost drop it entirely. You recover, awkwardly enough, but end up splashing water on yourself, soaking the front of your gown completely.
Wonderful. At least the damned jug didn’t break.
“Are you alright?” A voice calls and you turn to them with a scowl, ready to curse whoever it was for frightening you in such an embarrassing way.
Only to blink in shock.
A boy who can only be a Targaryen stares back at you, amethyst eyes wide with shock. He’s dressed in a dark green tunic and pants, his features fine and pretty and framed by shining silver hair, looking exactly as you had imagined a son of Queen Alicent Hightower to look.
He was one of the princes you were meant to secure in a marriage.
And there you were; bloody finger, caught off guard, and soaking wet.
It truly was a miracle he wasn’t begging your uncle for your hand in marriage already.
“Yes?” You say, the word coming out more like a question than anything else. You clear your throat, reigning in your fluster. “Yes. I’m fine. I just, uh, caught my finger while embroidering. My apologies, my prince,” you drop in a curtsey, cheeks flaming.
He tells you to rise and a quick glance reveals that he’s just as caught off guard as you are. “I think I’m at a disadvantage. You know who I am but I don’t know who you are.”
You tell him your name. “I’m Lord Jason and Johanna Lannister’s daughter,” you clarify. “My uncle Tyland is your father’s master of ships. And… at the risk of sounding impertinent, my prince, I’m afraid you’re mistaken.”
The boy blinks, obviously confused. “How am I mistaken?”
You smile. “Now you know who I am but I don’t know who you are. I know you’re a Targaryen prince, that much is easy to tell, but there are three of those. Are you Prince Aegon? Or perhaps Prince Aemond? You could even be Prince Daeron, having decided that Oldtown isn’t to his taste.”
He stares at you, scanning your face, until finally, he smiles, shy and hesitant. The sight of it stuns you entirely that you take a second to recover.  “I’m Prince Aemond. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
After a moment, you think you’ve gathered your wits enough to reply. “Small mercies then,” you laugh. “Your sister told me that you and I would get along.”
“She did?” He asks, completely baffled. “Me? And you? But you’re so…”
You nod, finally placing the pitcher back on the table, and pouring some water on your rag. You begin to clean your wound. “She said you liked to read? And study? I’m no great scholar but I like to read the histories of the Westerlands and the other kingdoms. It’s important to know our past to be best able to predict our future.”
Aemond nods slowly, still looking out of his element as if he was waiting for you to reveal that you were lying about being excited that it was him. “You like histories?”
“Of course,” you say. You’re not lying. Maybe exaggerating but out of all of your studies, you did prefer history to anything else. You begin to rewrap your wound. “Perhaps you can share some of your favorite books with me? I’m about to go meet Princess Helaena in the gardens. You could join us?”
He stares at you, eyes wide with shock before he flushes slightly and ducks his head. “I would be honored, my lady.”
You beam happily as you finish tending to your cut. “I’ll meet you in the gardens then! Please allow me to get changed and could you inform Princess Helaena that I’ll be late?”
He stammers out “Of course” and you leave the room, heading towards the apartments you shared with your uncle and household. Your heart beats fast and heavy in your chest and you clasp your hands together, taking deep breaths. Your cheeks feel like they’re blazing and you wonder if you managed to come across as effortless as you had tried.
When you enter your apartments, you find Uncle Tyland sitting in the main area, surrounded by piles of scrolls and paper. He blinks at your appearance but before he can manage to get a question out, you move to stand in front of him.
“I’ve decided, Uncle Tyland,” you declare, meeting his eyes with as much intent as you can muster. “If I’m to have one of the princes, then I want Prince Aemond.”
Tyland raises a brow. “Not Prince Aegon? He is the firstborn son of King Viserys.” And the rightful heir is the quiet and treasonous additive that follows.
You’d be his queen is the implied reason.
You shake your head. Aside from the rumors swirling around him, Helaena didn’t have much to say about her eldest brother and the little she did say didn’t inspire much confidence in his potential as a husband. “I want Aemond.” And I’ll have him.
Tyland scans your face, looking for any sign of hesitancy or reluctance before he ruefully shakes his head, a small smile playing on his lips. Your uncle has always been more clever than your father. “Then I give you my permission to try and… court him, for lack of a better term, though I don’t think you came here asking for my permission.”
You smile. You hadn’t.
Daughter of Steel and Bronze ~ HOTD
Ch 1 - To King's Landing
Targaryen!OC x Harwin Strong (eventually lol)
Warnings: none
Prologue
Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"In 107 AC, the King held a seven-day celebration in honor of Princess Rhaenyra's tenth name day. The young Princess was named 'the Realm's Delight' by the minstrels at court. Rhaenyra was a precocious child, bright, bold and beautiful. She became a dragon rider at only seven years old, riding her yellow she-dragon, Syrax. The tourney would also mark the return of Prince Daemon to King's Landing. He spent most of his time away in the Vale, with his lady wife, Rhea Royce, and their young daughter, Princess Daena.
Princess Daena was a lively, cheerful girl only a year younger than her cousin, Rhaenyra. She became a proficient huntress in thanks to her lady mother. Some at court frowned, saying it was inappropriate for a lady to hunt down animals and cover herself in dirt and blood, but Rhea and Daemon paid them no mind, letting their daughter do what she liked. 'She's not just a lady...she's a Princess of House Targaryen. Dragons don't fear blood' Prince Daemon was heard saying in defense of his daughter."
(Fire & Blood, Being a History of the Targaryen Kings of Westeros, by Archmaester Gyldayn)
~
107 AC, King's Landing
This was Daena's second time visiting King's Landing. Well third, if you count the time her parents brought her when she was a baby so that her great-grandparents, King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne could meet their newest great-granddaughter. It was said the Good Queen wept tears of joy when she held Daena in her hands for the first time. The Queen was old and frail, having to walk with a cane. Nonetheless, the Queen gave her blessing and proclaimed that Daena would be a great beauty one day.
Now, Daena and her father, Prince Daemon, were visiting King's Landing once again. This time because of her cousin Rhaenyra. Her uncle, King Viserys I, was holding a great tourney in honor of Rhaenyra's 10th name day. Even after 14 years of marriage, Viserys and his wife, Queen Aemma Arryn, only had one living child - Rhaenyra. The King was known for spoiling his only child with many things, and "seven days of celebration for her name day seemed only appropriate", according to His Grace.
Daena spent much of her childhood at Runestone. She was taught how to ride a horse and hunt with a bow and arrow by her lady mother, Rhea Royce. Her mother was a strong, intelligent woman and was the ruling Lady of Runestone. Daena was very proud to be her daughter and always strived to make her mother proud. Daena didn't look much like her mother. She looked more like her father's side of the family. With fair skin, long silver hair, and lilac eyes, she looked nothing short of a true Targaryen Princess. Nonetheless, she knew she had many other things in common with her dear mother.
Her mother didn't join them. She said she needed to look after Runestone, that it was her duty. But even as a child, Daena knew it was because her mother never liked her father and she simply didn't want to spend time with him. It made Daena sad, that her parents disliked each other, but they tried to be cordial with one another for her sake. She once asked her parents if she would ever get a sibling. Her mother choked on her wine while her father frowned and told her not to be silly and ask stupid questions. She never asked again.
~
"Are we there yet?" Daena asked Amanda, one of her mother's nieces who went South with them. Lady Amanda was from the cadet branch of House Royce - House Royce of the Gates of the Moon. Amanda was a pretty maid of 16 summers. Nearly a woman grown, Lady Rhea sent her young niece to King's Landing to look after her daughter and also for a potential marriage.
 Amanda had long dark brown hair and round brown eyes. Daena liked her very much. She was fun and kind and taught Daena how to sew. "We'll be there in a short while, Princess," Amanda answered while looking out from the small carriage window.
Daena didn't like that she was in a carriage. She wanted to fly with her father on Caraxes but he refused her, saying she was too young. So, she would travel by carriage. She looked out the window and saw a giant castle made of red stone.
"The Red Keep..." Daena whispered under her breath. She has never seen King's Landing. She did visit in 101 AC, when her great-grandfather, Jaehaerys passed away. But she didn't remember much from that whole ordeal. She only remembered that everyone was sad and quiet.
Daena was 9 years old and slightly taller than most girls her age. She was thin and slender and had long silver hair she liked to keep in a single long braid. Father said it made her look like Queen Visenya. Daena would love nothing more than to be like the legendary Visenya.
"Do you think Rhaenyra will let me see Syrax?" Daena quietly asked Amanda. She would never admit it, but she was a bit jealous that Rhaenyra had a dragon. Daena's dark purple egg never hatched. She still had it, it was held back at Runestone, but she didn't like looking at it.
It made her sad and angry. Some kids back at Runestone would mock her and call her Daena the Dragonless. The words of her mother's House were 'We remember' and in keeping with that, she never forgot or forgave the people who mocked her. She hoped that since she was in King's Landing, she could claim an already hatched dragon.
"I'm not sure...Perhaps a bit later." Amanda said cautiously. She knew how important dragons were to the Targaryens and it hurt her to see Daena so sad.
"Open the gates!" A guard shouted. They were already there. They were about to enter the Red Keep! Daena sat up straight and smoothed her red and black silk dress. Her silver hair was braided at the top to look like a crown. Small ruby earrings dangled like blood droplets from her ears. The gates were opened and the carriage entered the courtyard.
Tumblr media
The doors of the carriage opened and Daena could see her father dismounting his horse. A page boy helped her get out. Once her feet hit the ground, a guard announced them.
"Prince Daemon Targaryen and his daughter, Princess Daena!" Her father beckoned her over and so she quickly walked over to him. He put his arm around her little shoulders.
"Prince Daemon...Welcome..."A voice said. She finally focused on the person standing in front of the castle doors. It was Ser Otto Hightower - the Hand of the King.
"Princess..." He greeted her as well, though he sounded and looked like he didn't want to be there. She didn't curtsy to the lord, she didn't have to as a Princess. She felt her father protectively pulling her closer to him.
"Ser Otto...", her father managed to say through gritted teeth. Even as a child, she could tell the two men heavily disliked each other.
"Amanda, take Daena inside. Visit the Queen if you can. I'm sure Her Grace would like that" Daemon told Amanda. The young Royce girl nodded and took Daena's hand and they walked inside. Once they reached the Queen's chambers, they entered the spacious room.
"Princess Daena, Your Grace", a maid announced Daena. The Queen was heavily pregnant and was sitting on a chaise lounge in front of a big window and was propped up by lots of pillows. Her silver hair was down and fell freely. She wore only a nightdress and a pretty, pink, embroidered silk robe. The Queen turned her head and smiled lightly at her young niece.
"Daena, my dear...How you've grown. I haven't seen you in ages." Aemma said softly as she looked over Daena. The young princess curtsied to Aemma. The Queen beckoned her and gave her a warm hug.
"Your Grace," Daena said politely.
"Come, sit here." Aemma gestured to a nearby chair. Daena sat. Aemma looked over Daena's shoulder and saw a pretty brunette in the corner. Daena noticed.
"Your Grace, this is Lady Amanda Royce of the Gates of the Moon. She's my cousin. She came here with me, I hope you don't mind." Daena introduces Amanda to the Queen.
"No, not at all. It's a pleasure to meet you, my lady" Aemma greets the Royce girl.
"The pleasure is mine, Your Grace. Thank you for having me" Amanda says and bows to Aemma. The Queen and Daena talk for a while, about the Vale, about Runestone, and how much Daena has grown.
"If I may ask...where is my dear cousin Rhaenyra? I haven't seen her yet." Daena asks after a while. Aemma sighs and fans herself with a fan.
"I believe she's having her lesson with Septa Marlow" Aemma explained. Daena hums in acknowledgment.
"Princess Rhaenyra", a maid announces after a while. In came Daena's older cousin. She was fair-skinned with pretty purple eyes. She was a bit shorter than Daena, but they both had long silver hair.
"Cousin! It's been so long!" Rhaenyra greeted Daena with a warm smile and a tight hug.
"Nyra!" Daena exclaimed in joy. Rhaenyra greeted her mother and they talked for a few minutes.
 "Come, dear cousin. Let's go for a walk." Rhaenyra suggests and takes Daena by the hand.
"Your Grace, I hope you have a nice day." Daena bid the Queen politely. Aemma smiled sadly at the two girls.
Tumblr media
Daena and Rhaenyra were walking in the Royal Gardens in the afternoon sun. They sat under the weirwood and talked for hours. In the distance Ser Harrold Westerling, Rhaenyra's sworn shield, was keeping guard. At sundown, Amanda came around and told them they were summoned for supper with the King.
"Will you show me Syrax one day?" Daena asks.
"Of course, I would love to, " Rhaenyra answers.
"We can even fly together once she gets big enough" Nyra adds.
Once they were ready, Ser Harrold escorted them to the dining chamber where they were to have supper. As they entered, Daena could see her uncle, the King, sitting at the head of the table. To his right was his wife, Queen Aemma, who looked tired. To his left was her father, Prince Daemon. To Aemma's right was Princess Rhaenys and her husband, Lord Corlys Velaryon - the Sea Snake. Daena was surprised to see them there. Shaking her head, she sat next to her father. Nyra sat next to her.
"Girls, we've been waiting for you for some time," King Viserys says lightly scolding the girls.
 "Forgive us, father. We were talking and we got distracted." Nyra says sheepishly. Viserys smiles and looks over to his niece.
 "Ah, Daena...I haven't seen you since you were a toddler. How you've grown..." Viserys says to Daena. She smiled awkwardly and the food was served. The adults talked amongst themselves. Daena and Rhaenyra quietly traded gossip with one other. Daena tried her best not to look at the Sea Snake and his wife. Rhaenys was her aunt, but she always found the woman kind of scary, though she would never admit it.
After supper, Daena bid her cousin goodbye and left with her father to their chambers.
"I'll see you in the morning Nyra" Daena says and hugs Nyra. She and her father enter her chambers.
~
"Wow..." Daena gasps as she sees her room. Her chambers back at Runestone weren't nearly as big.
"I already told the maids to fix you up a bath," Daemon says to her. He walks over to her and pets her head, caressing her silver hair. She hugs his waist and looks up at him with tired eyes. He smiles at her.
"Issi ao ēdrugī, riñītsos?" (Are you tired, little girl?) He asks her. She nods her head.
"Come here..." He says and picks her up easily and puts her down on the bed. He starts unbraiding her hair. He knew most men wouldn't even consider doing something like this. He didn't think he had it in him to be like this. So soft, and gentle...and caring. But the second he held her when she was born...he knew he would do anything for her. He would burn the entire world if it meant she was safe and sound.
Once he was done unbraiding her hair, he turned her head toward him. He studied her face. She looked just like him. Silver hair, lilac eyes, it was all him. But she had her mother's oval face. He didn't like his wife, whatsoever. But she helped him create Daena. His precious Princess. His little girl. His little dragon.
"I'll call Amanda. She'll help you bathe." He told her and got up to leave. Before he was able to leave, she caught him and pulled him by the sleeve of his shirt. He bent down to her level.
"What is it, sweet girl?" He asked her.
"Sȳz bantis kepa. Avy jorrāelan" (Good night Father. I love you) she told him sleepily and planted a kiss on his cheek. He smiled once again and kissed her silver hair.
"Avy jorrāelan tolī, dōna riña" (I love you too, sweet girl). He told her and left her chamber.
Brothers in Arms Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Part 9
W/C: 6.5k ish…
Tumblr media
With Ari’s blessing, you stayed in Boston for a few days.
Okay, maybe blessing would be pushing it a little too far. It was more like a begrudging acceptance, punctuated with sarcasm about how you favoured that asshole to your own brother.
You knew he was mostly joking, however. That said, when you got news that Ari was being discharged, you flew back to New York, to be there for your brother.
Three days after that, Ransom was given the okay to return to Queens, under strict instructions to take it easy.
When the two of you had talked, you’d made it clear that your reconciliation was taking place at your speed. You hadn’t been quite ready to jump all the way back in just straight away. Instead, you wanted to take it slow, build what you had back up from the very foundations which had been shook.
So far you had spent most of your days with Ransom at the mansion whilst he was still recovering. Be it watching TV or taking short walks around the grounds. You cooked or ordered in, snuggled up together but each night you’d drawn the line in the sand and headed back to Ari’s, your intimacy not passing the kissing stage.
Ransom hadn’t argued, he hadn’t pushed. He’d simply agreed to give you the time you needed, his only request being that if you still weren’t ready to move back in by the time the baby arrived, you at least agreed to stay in the house and he would go back to his penthouse, to allow you and your future son or daughter somewhere comfortable to begin your life together.
You’d agreed, although you knew deep-down it wouldn’t come to that. You wanted to move on. You forgave Ransom, you had to if you wanted to make things work. You just needed the time to navigate this new start, but you were confident you could.
You smiled at Ransom, as he stood in the open doorway as you pulled up the drive.
“You should be resting.” You looked at him. He was dressed casually, in a pair of dark blue denims and a cream cable knit cashmere sweater.
“I’m fine.” He rolled his eyes as you stopped in front of him. You stood on your toes to peck him on the lips. He then moved back to let you walk into the hallway.
You smiled a little at the Christmas decorations that had been installed over the weekend. Usually you liked to decorate yourself, but with everything that had been going on, and the fact you were now two weeks into December, you’d agreed to let Ransom pay for someone to come and do it.
“Have you drunk enough water?” He asked and you couldn’t help the chuckle. Today was your first ultrasound, the first time you’d get to see your baby and hear its heartbeat. And of course, Ransom had been reading up all about the process.
“I…yeah, I guess. I mean I’m peeing every fifteen minutes or so. In fact, I need to go now.”
Ransom snorted as you headed off and made his way to the kitchen to wait for you. Soon you joined him, and he slid a small water bottle to you from the fridge, along with some carrot sticks which seemed to be a snack you couldn’t get enough of at the moment.
“Carter or Blanc can drive us today.” He offered, “I would myself but…”
“You’re not allowed yet.” You chuckled, swallowing your snack. “I can drive, it’s no issue. I drove here.”
Ransom popped a shoulder. “I’d prefer it if you let them, please.”
You looked at him and then smiled softly, deciding to let him have his way. “Okay.”
“And I thought if you wanted after, we could go for lunch.”
“Sounds great.” You nodded.
After a quick cup of coffee, decaf for you, you headed out to the car and we’re soon pulling up outside the private clinic.
Ransom stepped out first, and you didn’t miss the little wince he gave. You sighed and then leaned between the seats to speak quickly to Carter.
“Thank you, I know you know what’s going on.”
“Don’t know what you mean, Miss.” he shot back, flashing you a wink.
With a smile, you moved to step out of the car and took Ransom’s hand.
“Do we find out what it is today?” Ransom asked as you walked into reception, and you laughed.
“No, I’m only…well, about 8 weeks or so. We won’t see that for a good few months. That is if we decide to.”
“Oh.” He then blinked. “You don’t wanna find out?”
“I dunno.” You shrugged, “maybe, maybe not. I like the idea of it being a total surprise.”
Ransom smiled and pulled your hand up to kiss your wrist, “whatever you want, baby.”
Soon enough, you were called in after waiting in a small, comfortable room and you led on the bed, the cold jelly spreading over your stomach as the doctor moved the wand. Your ears then filled with the rhythmic thumping and your eyes caught the first glance of your baby on the little screen.
You smiled and glanced at Ransom, his eyes were fixed on the image, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed.
The Doctor smiled, then showed you where your baby’s head was, their heartbeat.
“And from the size then, yes, I’d estimate you’re between seven and eight weeks. So that gives us a due date of…the 29th of July.”
You swallowed and dropped your head. You’d secretly been hoping for s miracle, that you wouldn’t actually be that far along. But you knew deep down that had been stupid. Because no matter how much you did the maths, no matter what apps you keyed the dates of your cycle into, it still came back to the same thing. That your baby was likely conceived at any point really from 28th October to 12th November. It could belong to either of the twins.
“Can…can I get a copy, can we get a copy?” Ransom asked, his eyes still on the screen as he raised your hand to his lips.
“Absolutely.” The Doctor smiled. “I’ll grab you one now and we’ll get you booked in for your next ultrasound and I’ll get you some information leaflets on our Lamaze classes.” She smiled as Ransom leaned over to kiss your head. You spluttered as you wiped your eyes. “Is there anything you wanna ask me?”
Ransom launched into a myriad of questions about what you could and couldn’t do, what you had to stop eating, drinking and you couldn’t help but some out, instead focusing on his face.
You took a deep breath, and as you watched Ransom intently listening to the doctor, your heart swelled. Your momentary wobble flew from your mind as you were reminded that it didn’t matter. He was all in, you could see that. As far as Ransom was concerned, this baby was his. And when you logically thought about the odds, it probably was.
You’d agreed when you’d decided to make things work, not to dwell on any of this. And now it was time for you to live up to the bargain. Your baby was a Drysdale, not a Rogers.
You heard the Doctor tell you she’d be back soon, and you smiled as she wiped the gel from your stomach and left.
Ransom turned to you, your hand still held in his. “You okay, Princess?”
“I’m fine.” You nodded, “that was just…”
“Yeah…did you see him?”
“Oh, it’s a him?”
“Yup.” Ransom nodded, smirking. “My son and heir.”
“You know, it might be a girl. Girls are just as capable of being bad asses.” He playfully wrinkled his nose, and you slapped his arm. “Oh, wait till I tell Natasha your opinions on-”
“Err, there’s no need for that.” He cut you off, chuckling. The room fell silent, and he took a deep breath, his hand round yours as he looked at the floor. “Listen, Y/N. I know…I know we said we’d take things at your pace, and I’m, well, maybe happy to do that is the wrong phrase, but I understand. I know it’s what you want, and it’s the least I can do after…after everything I did, because I don’t deserve you.”
“Ran, please…we agreed not to dwell-“
“No, I know…lemme finish, please baby.” His blue eyes bore into yours, imploring you to let him have his day and you closed your mouth. You watched him, as the hand that wasn’t wrapped around yours moved into his pocket. When he brought it back out, you blinked as you recognised the small ring box he held in his palm. “I’d like you to have this back. It’s yours. And…maybe when you’re ready, you can put it back on. Whenever that may be…if you…if you ever are.”
You licked your lips and swallowed the lump in your throat, but it stuck in your chest. You inhaled through your nose and sighed out of your mouth. You bit the inside of your cheek. The look in his eyes appeared defeated. It didn't sway the way your heart felt. Your eyes flicked back to the box. Then you nodded and gently took it.
Ransom exhaled loudly as you smiled and nodded towards your bag.
“Imma need to put it in there…”
"Okay," he nodded. He figured that was what you wanted.
He passed it over and you stored the box carefully, zipping it into the compartment for safe keeping.
Soon enough, the two of you were on your way, copied of the ultrasound pictures with you. He took you to lunch in the Harbor. The changing of the seasons didn't make for a great view, but the gesture was there. The pair of you chatted, in a way you’d always been able to. About anything and everything.
Certain subjects were off limits, elephants in the room. But it was smooth. The ride back to the mansion was quiet but not unbearable. Your mind whirred. So much had gone on in the last few hours it seemed, and it had you thinking. Your eyes would flick to your bag at your feet, and you'd chew on your cheek.
“Princess?”
"Hmm?" You hummed softly.
“Are you coming in or do you want to head back to…to Ari’s?”
"I'd like to stay a little longer," you admitted.
“You can stay as long as you want.” Ransom took a deep breath. “If it was up to me you’d never leave.”
You softly smiled at the sentiment as he opened his door. He strode round to yours and offered you his hand.
You took it and allowed him to help you out of the car. His hand settled on the small of your back as he led you to the front doors. Once inside, he took the time to follow you into the foyer and then toward the kitchen where you left your bag on the island. You took the ultrasound images out of your purse and set the on the marble.
"Can I keep one?" Ransom asked as he stood behind you, his arms snaking around your middle to rest his hands on your stomach.
"You can have more than one." You turned your chin, so you looked up at him.
“Yeah?” His lips curled up at the side.
"Yeah, you can have half if you'd like, they gave us six," you chuckled.
Ransom snorted as he kissed your neck, “I think I’ll stick one to the fridge.”
"Oh my, that's a big step," you sniggered. "Big Mob Boss Ransom Drysdale puts a picture on the stainless steel."
“Hey, that’s my future son and heir.”
"Or daughter."
“Whatever.”
"I'm only kidding," you leaned back into him a little.
“Me too, sorta. I don’t mind what they turn out to be. As long as they’re healthy.”
"Me either. But it'd be interesting to see you with a daughter. It'd be entirely comical to see you with a son."
“Why comical?”
"Because I can see it." You turned in his arms and wrapped your own around his neck after they slid up his chest. "A little boy with your eyes that reins terror over this house and your kingdom. God help you when they're sixteen."
Ransoms brows flicked up before he gave a lowly chuckle, “well, maybe having a girl wouldn’t be so bad. There’s one obvious upside to that too.”
"Which is?" You cocked your head to the side a little as you looked up.
“They’re more likely to be like you, less like me. Not quite as fucked up.”
Your face softened, "Ransom." Your eyes welled up, "don't you ever say that again."
He licked his lips and hung his head, “I’m sorry…”
Your hands moved from around his neck to his jawline, your fingers spreading over his cheeks. "You're not a perfect man, but you're not fucked up either. You fell from grace, but that doesn't mean you can't change, or you haven't already made changes. I see you for what you're worth, Ransom. Our children will too."
At that he swallowed, his eyes misted over before he frowned a little, a soft smirk spreading across his face. “Children?”
You gave a soft smirk and a little pop to your shoulder, "I won't rule it out."
Ransom opened his mouth, but closed it again, and instead his hands cupped your face. “I don’t deserve you.”
You could see the turmoil in his eyes, he felt guilty. Guilty over what he’d put you through, ashamed of what he’d done to you, how he’d hurt you the way he did.
"We're gonna get through this," you encouraged. "It doesn't feel like it, but we will. I still love you."
“I love you too, so fucking much princess.” He sniffed.
You swallowed and sniffed, "I know."
He leaned down to you, his nose bumping yours gently before he kissed you.
There was something different to this kiss than the others you’d shared since you agreed to work things through. It was laden with emotion. Your eyes fluttered shut, the tenderness behind his lips made your stomach somersault. Your fingers pressed into the nape of his neck as a small whimper slipped through your throat.
“Fahk…” Ransom wrenched his lips away and pressed his head to yours.
You were a little breathless and lightheaded. "Ransom...."
“I know…too soon.”
"Just kiss me again."
With a surprised blink that merged into a soft smile, Ransom did exactly as you asked.
Again, the kiss was heady and needy. You needed him, no, you for the first time in a long time, you wanted him.
“Take me to bed.” You whispered, your eyes closed as he pulled away, lips mere centimetres from each other.
"Yeah?" It was barely a whisper, in fact you weren't sure he spoke at all, but you felt the word on your lips.
"Yes."
His lips were back on yours, those hands that cupped your face slid down your arms to your hips before they curled around your thighs.
In an easy movement he lifted you off your feet, your legs wrapping around his waist. He grimaced slightly, but made no moves to set you down.
"Be careful," you spoke gently. "You're still healing.”
“I’m fine, princess.”
"Okay," you kissed him again.
Somehow you ended up in the bedroom you once shared, him having carried you up the stairs.
Ransom set you down gently on the bed, bending at his waist to continue kissing you. When he pulled away for just a moment, you saw a hunger in his eyes you hadn't seen in a long time. A hunger that made you tingle and a spark that set your inside on fire. But there was a softness behind the hunger that made you want him more. You easily took the lead and grabbed the side of your sweater, pulling it up and over your head, tossing it to the floor.
Ransom wanted to touch you, put his hands on you. Felt desperate to have your skin at his fingertips. You waited on bated breath for him to do something.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," he swallowed.
A step forward closed the space between you, and he settled between your legs. His hand cupped your face and settled into a cradle against your jaw. He rubbed his thumb across your cheek bone then slowly dragged along the column of your neck until he reached your sternum. With a flat palm, he gently pushed until your back hit the mattress.
You couldn’t help the little giggle that flew from your lips as your head hit the soft surface of the comforter.
You watched as Ransom pulled his own sweater off, tossing it somewhere over his head.
Your eyes glazed over with desire as you watched him kneel against the mattress and began to cover your body with his. But you didn’t miss the scar that ran along his side, where his brother had done his best to take his life.
It was still red and raised. A mark that wouldn't fade for a long while. Your fingers reached out and lightly grazed it.
Ransom swallowed as he watched your eyes follow your fingers before your gaze flicked to his.
“It’s the only thing left of him.” He shook his head, as he reached for your hand. “And soon, it’ll fade to nothing. Like he has.” His lips kissed the pads of your fingers.
You nodded, your lip tucked between your teeth. It was the only truth you needed. The baby in your belly was his and only his. Nothing else mattered.
He let go of your hand and leaned over, his lips brushing yours before they moved to the hinge of your jaw.
Your mouth parted in a sigh as you bent upward to kiss him. You traced the seam of his lips with your tongue and Ransom eagerly responded but kept allowing you to lead the pace.
There was a fear in the back of his mind that you'd change your mind, tell him to stop. That all this was a mistake. But the minute your hand slid up over his shoulder, nails caressing the short hair at the nape of his neck, that fear left him.
He kissed your lips, your jaw, your neck. He nipped gently at your collarbone, fluttered kisses between your bra covered breasts and you hissed as he palmed your left one with his right hand.
"Are you okay?" Ransome wondered against your skin.
"Just sensitive," you smirked.
“I don’t wanna hurt you.”
"You won't."
“Tell me if I do.”
“Ransom...."
Yeah?”
"I want you. I want...I want this. Stop stalling."
“I’m sorry.” He sighed.
You cupped his face, "no more sorry."
Okay…” he nodded, as he took a deep breath. “I love you.”
"I...we love you."
With a soft expression on his face, his lips were back on yours.
With tenderness you knew he was capable of, he stripped you, kissing every inch of skin he could find.
You sighed and gasped, hummed and whimpered. You were already wet between your legs and by the time you were naked, you were squeezing your thighs together for relief.
As his knee nudged your thighs apart, his hands reached up and his fingers slipped between yours.
You felt his tip kiss at your slit, and you titled your hips upward. Ransom slid in with a slow and shallow thrust.
"Oh my god...”
“Shit, princess. Fahk…”
"You feel so good, baby...."
“You too…” he groaned as he pulled back, and then pushed deeper into you with a roll of his hips.
Your back arched off the mattress as your body curled around him completely. You crossed your ankles at the small of his back and squeezed his fingers between yours.
His lips crashed back to yours in a desperate kiss.
Your tongue forced upon his and he growled against your kiss. You whimpered at the thrust he reciprocated with. It only made you speak against his lips.
"Faster," you begged.
With a low moan, he gripped your hands tighter as his hips began to thrust.
"Oh fuck, thassit, Ransom..."
“Oh, baby…” he choked, his lips latching onto your pulse point, “I missed this. I missed you.”
“Oh shit," you whined. "Me...too..."
“My Queen…” he whispered, his nose brushing the shell of your ear.
"My King," you rasped.
You felt him shudder, a soft whimper escaping his mouth and it made your insides burn. The power you held over him, the way you could reduce him to a quivering wreck. Such a ruthless man in his business, ruling his kingdom with an iron fist and yet you could undo him simply with words.
"S'close, Ran," you moaned.
“Me too, baby.”
"Just...right...."
He knew how to read your body like a cartographer knew how to read a map. He knew where to touch, where to kiss, where to brush gently and where to grab a little more firmly…
The beginning flutters of your orgasm coiled around his cock and your fingers began to squeeze his a little harder. "Ransom, I'm....I'm gonna..." You sighed with a high pitch to your breath as you came. Your body tenderly tensed around him as your heels pressed against him, your toes curled.
“Oh, thassit…” his eyes watched your face. He loved seeing you fall apart, the way your jaw laxed, how your eyelashes kissed your cheeks like the fluttering wings of a butterfly.
He wasn't far behind you. His body flexed above you, his fingers tight and palms pressing the back of your hands into the mattress.
When you opened your eyes, you saw the look on his face before he whimpered and let himself press into you a little more, his face buried into your neck.
"Oh, baby," you cooed.
He didn’t reply, simply nuzzled into you more. And it was only when you felt the wetness against your skin that you realise he was crying.
Your eyes stung, too. There were a lot of emotions that came through the course of the day, and it seemed to have settled between the two of you at the end of your physical reconnecting. You kissed his shoulder and whispered that things were okay. That you were okay, and the two of you were okay.
Eventually he pulled back, and you wriggled your fingers free from his. With a soft smile you reached up and brushed back the longer strands of hair that had flipped forward over his forehead.
"I wanna come home," you whispered wetly.
“You are…” Ransom’s voice cracked, “you don’t ever have to leave.”
******
You stayed that night. And you stayed the next night. And the night after that. On the fourth day your engagement ring was back on your finger, and by the seventh most of your stuff was back from Ari’s. The items you left, which Carter had put into storage instead of being destroyed as Ransom had instructed, were returned to their rightful place and it was as if you’d never been gone.
Christmas came and went, you spent it at home, just you, Ransom and Ari. The New Year passed, the snow melted, the spring flowers emerged. And, as the seasons changed, so did your body. Your bump blossomed like the trees, your eyes shone like the diamond on your hand, and to Ransom you were simply more beautiful with each day that passed.
Before you knew it, six months had passed. Things on Ransom's 'business' end were still a tight ship.
He hadn’t attempted to seize Brooklyn, instead he’d left the power vacuum to sort it sort itself out. His personal involvement with the ‘dodgy dealings’ had become less and less, his outside focus mainly on the Publishing Company. His attempt was to at least appear more straight on the outside, the unborn baby in your belly his number one priority.
He didn’t want your son, or daughter, being born into any kind of turf war, despite him joking about them being heir to his empire. He wanted safety, security for them, and if that meant appearing to go straight, so be it. He kept peace with the other factions and mobs in the area.
But he still ruled his own with an iron fist.
One particular day in April, you’d met your friend for a spa day, a bit of pampering whilst he held a meeting in his office.
“So, whaddya want me to do boss?” Langley asked, “send a message? I mean, do we want the Maximoffs muscling in on this?”
Ransom pondered for a moment, then looked across the table to Stark. “What do you think?”
Tony wrinkled his nose, “it depends, do you wanna rock the boat?”
Ransom tapped his fingers on the desk, “leave it be, it ain’t important. Let them take their shipment. It won’t have a big effect.”
“You’re the boss.” Langley shrugged.
An hour or so later, the rest of his men had left, leaving him and Langley alone.
“I gotta hand it to you, Dysdale, you really have calmed down a lot. Impending Fatherhood suits you.”
Ransom merely flicked his brows.
“I know what happened with Rogers was shitty, but… well, looks like it all turned out for the best, huh?” Langley stood from his chair, “whoever it was that sent that photo to you did you a favour in the long run.”
Random cocked his head to one side, studying the man in front of him through narrowed eyes. “Hmmm.”
“Anyway, I have stuff to do so I will see you tomorrow, Boss.”
“Sure.” Ransom nodded, reaching into his desk drawer.
With a final nod, Bryce turned to go, but stopped dead when he heard the loud click of a gun mechanism being cocked.
“You know, I knew Walt had to have someone pushing his buttons. The Iago to his Othello, so to speak, but I never expected it to be you.” Ransom’s voice was cool and collected as Langley turned to him, his eyes narrowing.
“Boss, I’m not-“
“I told no one I’d been sent those photos,” Ransom chewed the inside of his cheek as he rose gracefully from his seat.
“What?” Langley’s voice was a whisper as he swallowed, realising his mistake. His eyes were fearful as he watched Ransom round the desk and advance on him, like a tiger stalking its prey.
“So, the only possible explanation for you knowing is if you were the one who did. And, if you knew Rumlow was going to be there, with Walt, then you had to have known about it from the start.”
Bryce floundered like a fish outta water, looking for a viable story on a dime. His eyes flicked from Ransom, then to the gun which was trained at his head.
“Why?” Ransom exhaled, “come on, humour me. And don’t try and tell me it was all Walt, because we both know if brains were dynamite he wouldn’t have enough to blow off his eyebrow. He might have wanted the head seat at the table but there’s no way he’d have come up with something so elaborate. So, here’s your moment. The big confession before I blow your brains out.”
Langley blinked, before his jaw set, and an angry look crossed his face. Ransom recognised it as resignation, and he openly smirked. He knew his childhood friend too well, Bryce understood his time was up and he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to explain, gaud Ransom one last time.
“The plan was to get rid of you and Steve, frame it as a rivalry gone wrong with the Maximoffs. Then Walt would take the lot, the business, inheritance. I’d get twenty percent, plus Brooklyn.” He clicked his tongue, “only Rumlow fucked the hit up, hit Peggy instead. It could have screwed it all up-“
“Then Steve killed Rumlow…and you saw your next opportunity, right?” Ransom arched a brow, “I played right into your hands, I listened to you, and I didn’t give Steve an alibi for Rumlow’s murder.”
“You always listened to me,” Bryce scoffed, “Walt was right, you were too soft. You’d have done it for him, despite everything that had happened between you. But I convinced you and then we had a new plan. We’d wait, bide our time, feed Steve a little metaphorical ammo and then he’d come after you.”
“So, you’re the reason he thought I organised the hit?”
Langley nodded, “I expected him to kill you, take out a hit of his own…but as time went on, it never came. Then it all went to shit. We didn’t expect Steve to get out as quickly as he did, not before we had come up with another plan. I mean, I wasn’t bothered at first, I expected him to kill you, not to…well…anyway, he totally fucked the whole thing up. And I knew it would only be a matter of time before you both started digging and the truth came out.”
“So, you panicked.” Ransom felt the nerve in his jaw tick. “You sent the photos to get yourself off the hook.”
Langley licked his lips, “when I heard that Levinson was looking into it, yeah. I cut my losses and sent him the photo with the intent of leading him to Walt. Then that asshole Barnes stabbed him so…”
“You sent it to me.” Ransom finished.
Langley nodded.
“Ransom took a deep breath. “You seriously did all this for money? You caused all this for…”
“No, it wasn’t just for money!” Langley’s face grew red, and Ransom notices with some amusement the man was shaking, a combination of fear and anger no doubt. “I wanted my share, what I was owed, what is my birthright!”
“What are you talking about?” Ransom narrowed his eyes.
“Your shit head father?”
“What about him? He’s been dead for fuckin’ decades….”
“He was my shit head father too!”
For the first time since the confrontation began, Ransom wavered. His gun lowered slightly, “he…you’re my…”
“Half-brother? Yeah, that’s right, he was fucking my mother, and he left her pregnant and penniless! You two got the big house, the private education, the family business…I got fuck all!”
“I…I had no idea.” Ransom shook his head.
“Neither did I until a few years back. But would it have made a difference?” Bryce scoffed.
Ransom hesitated for a moment, before he licked his lips, “you know, had you told me before all this…honestly? Yeah…yeah it would. I’d have done something…I mean…I was always closer to you than I was to my own twin!”
Ransom swallowed. This betrayal was hard to take. He’d always loved Bryce as a brother and had often wished he were his twin, not Steve. They’d been inseparable from the day they met, and Ransom had done everything he could to help Bryce. It had started with sharing sweets and toys, and in the end becoming his right hand man, paying him a wage he knew would set him up for life.
But all that…all that was crashing down around him.
He ran his hand over his face, groaning a little. “What a fuckin’ mess…”
“Ransom…” Bryce spotted the chink in the mob boss’ armour and jumped on it, “look, we can…I know I fucked up, but we can get through this.”
Ransom lowered his gun even more, and Langley let out a breath of relief, as Ransom looked at him.
“See…the thing is, Y/N.”
“What about her?” Bryce frowned.
“She’s my world. I killed my own twin because of what he did to her. And then I…I hurt her even more because of my anger and stupidity and I was so goddamned easily manipulated and twisted by what he did. I’ll never forgive myself for being so cruel and fucking weak.”
“But she’s forgiven-“
“And now I find out… all that was down to you and Walt.” Ransom finished, cutting Bryce off and the man stuttered.
“What, no, I-“
“Steve did what he did because he thought I killed his wife. Which, I suppose is understandable. I’d have done the same, well maybe not the exact same but I’d want revenge.” Ransom pondered for a moment and Langley waited, his entire body tense as he watched Ransom slowly raise the gun again. “Y/N has suffered the way she has because of Walt and your actions. You arranged the hit, you then let him think it was me. And for that…”
Ransom pulled the trigger, blowing a hole right through Langley’s eyes, exactly the same way he had done with Steve. He grimaced as, once more, bits of blood, bone and brain matter splattered across his face. This time they belonged to his half-brother.
The door to the room flew open and Carter bustled in, gun raises. He stopped dead as he looked from the smoking pistol in Ransom’s hand, to Langley, then back again, “boss…what-“
“He was in on it,” Ransom jerked out of his trance and turned to Carter. “With Walt.”
There was a moments pause and Carter let out a soft sigh, and Ransom saw the man’s eyes full with tears.
“I’m…I’m sorry none of this will bring Peggy back,” Ransom licked his lips, shaking his head a little, “I only hope you find comfort from knowing the men truly responsible are dead.”
Carter nodded and opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by Ransom’s phone. He reached into his pocket and a smile spread across his face.
“Sweetheart?”
“Yeah, erm, I’m just on my way home.“ your voice was soothing, as it always was, and he took a deep breath.
“How was the spa?”
“Amazing…erm, do you mind if we just get pizza and a film tonight instead of going out? I…I just wanna curl up and relax now. Plus, our little bean seems to be doing the tango on my bladder…”
“Whatever you want.”
“Okay, have you finished your meetings?”
“Yeah,” Ransom glanced down at Langley’s body, and the mess in his office, “I just need to tidy up a couple of things then I’m done.
“Okay, well I’ll see you soon. We love you.”
“Love you both, too.”
He slipped the phone in his pocket and looked at Carter. He drew his shoulders back and wiped the forearm of the hand that still clutched the gun across his face, smearing the blood and gore over the sleeve of his shirt.
“Get someone to clean this up.” He instructed, his tone still softer than normal and Carter nodded.
“Boss.”
With that, Ransom stepped over the body of his dead half-brother and swept from the room, without so much as a glance back.
He was done looking over his shoulder. The only thing he cared about was you, and his baby.
And no one was ever going to threaten what the pair of you had ever again.
Favorable Houses in Astrology That Lead to the Money 💰
Strong Second House Placements 🏦
The second house rules over material possessions, bank institutions, and our “values”. Having benefic planets such as Sun, Venus, and Jupiter in this house are likely to yield positive results in the financial field. These people may be naturally inclined to handle financial matters, attract wealth, and have a positive money mindset.
Strong Fifth House Placements ☀️
With a strong fifth house or planets such as Sun, Venus, Jupiter, or Mars in this house. The native is blessed. The fifth house is the house of fun, creativity, and children. This house is also ruled by the Sun. This house is simple do what you love and it’ll bring you absolute joy! I have Venus in Libra here and yeah it’s a beautiful placement. It’s also a great house for attracting love and partners who also value money. These placements attract money through self-expression and creating. Creating art and also creating bonds.
Strong Eighth House Placements 👑
Some people may argue that this is a bold statement to make but the eighth house opposes the second house and also has an effect on financial matters. It’s usually the malefic planets such as Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto that are able to yield the best results from this house. I personally have Mars in Capricorn here and it’s been a huge influence in the way I look at money. Pluto transited this house for me and it wasn’t until the end of the transit my outlook on money matters changed. The eighth house rules debts/inheritance, losses/gains, legacy, and the occult. Usually if a person has these above Planets here they could be born into money or be blessed with money. A person with these placements could likely see there money fluctuating over time. Or they could experience not having money in youth and having money when they are older. This is the rags to riches house as I like to call it.
Strong Ninth House Placements 📚
With a strong ninth house influence money can flow to the individual by way of them sharing their knowledge with world. The ninth house rules over higher education, long distance travels, and spiritual practices. Planets such as Jupiter, Sun, Mercury, and Saturn can yield positive results. These individuals thrive in higher education thus leading them to become qualified for many opportunities in life. With Jupiter you could find yourself with knowledge in multiple fields and maybe even numerous degrees. Sun and Saturn here may give you mastery in a field. Although with Saturn this could take time like getting a masters in the law and science fields. Mercury here is favorable here especially during primary and secondary education. They may find themselves having to work a little harder as they climb the education ladder.
Strong Tenth House Placements 💼
A strong tenth house can insinuate that an individual has a prominent career and leading to favorable outcomes in money. If a person has Sun, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, or Pluto it can lead to the best outcomes with money. Sun here may have no choice but to express themselves through careerism. Saturn as well. Jupiter could have multiple paths they could take or a lot of connections. All in all your tenth house ruler will lead you to the most money throughout your lifetime.
11th house in Astrology
The Eleventh House is the home of aspiration, wealth, gratification of desires, friendship, and abundance.
Any planet in it is seen to be strong and favourable, and its potential is fully manifested here. It is protected from pests because it is also the home of upachaya, thus it keeps becoming better over time. Malefics in the eleventh house provide people the ability to overcome challenges and exhibit their greatest traits. It displays the results of our labours and brings dreams to life because it is the second house from the tenth.
This is the place where one can express themselves and achieve their goals. At a high level, he is connected to spiritual development and contribution to society via his gifts and prowess. It is especially advantageous if Leo or Pisces, Jupiter, the Sun, or any of their aspects to this house are present.
A strong position, though, also betrays a desire for notoriety and recognition. If the Sun is in the autumn, it may be a sign of a willingness to use dubious methods to achieve fame in any way. The placement of Mars in the 11th house is also advantageous.
Undoubtedly, such a person will be able to reach a high financial position. He will do everything it takes to achieve his goals. Wealth is also frequently indicated when the 11th house is connected to the 10th or 9th. Any planets in the 11th house, in general, represent the potential for realisation in that field.
Venus, for instance, speaks of artistic expression, whilst Saturn is favourable for politicians. By the way, Saturn does best in the 11th house. With this position, the native can start from extremely humble beginnings and go on to achieve great success in life and their careers.
A person with Ketu in the 11th house has good organisational abilities, optimism, and fortitude. They can solve any problem and find a way around any obstacle. Rahu is in a pretty fortunate situation at the moment.
Typically, these people are well respected in society, are friendly and outgoing, are strong leaders, and achieve great things in life. Nevertheless, despite all the blessings, the 11th house has its drawbacks. Being the sixth house from the sixth, it occasionally portends illness, challenges, and hurdles.
They will particularly show up at times when planets connected to the 11th house are afflicted by PAC.
