this is so far from being finished, because I still work on another. I have a lot of artworks with Iryth and Bridget, waiting to be painted. There’s gonna be a lot. I just don’t have much time, that’s it.

Name Iryth comes from Irithyll | Dark Souls 3 not from my real name even if it looks so, lol. This OC appeared that time and was connected to the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. In short - was a citizen and the outrider knight, before Pontiff Sulyvahn and then - Iryth the Blade of the Darkmoon. Maybe a cliché and not original but I like it.

This is just a sketch so far, I still haven't decided on the color scheme, lighting, etc. I'm also undecided on how to paint. BW with gradient maps or the old way I used to? Meh.

Elden Ring has too many greatswords

Darkmoon Greatsword is still my absolute favorite.

Blasphemous blade is really good, but I never really liked using it as a greatsword, and ash of war spam is kind of boring.

I think that about a lot of weapons in Elden Ring. It's not really an issue with the game, you have approximately a bajillion options for weapons spells and ash of war combos and it's good that way, but I occasionally dislike how important weapon skills can be and how spammable some of them get.

...Says the darkmoon greatsword enjoyer.

Movesets still matter and you can always just not spam that weapon art.

#me vs elden ring #Darkmoon is like. Perfectly balanced to me. Very powerful but demanding #not always the greatest choice #and that buff runs out faster than you think and costs. What it should! A decent enough chunk #that especially if you're a spellcaster main rather than doing a dedicated moonlight greatsword build #is going to be competing with your spells to a degree that I like #it also really eats up your stamina #but I also like just two-handing it and using r1s #blasphemous blade has a shorter range than I'd like. Despite it's amazing abilities I think I'd rather use the claymore #on a strength/faith build #I think that's partly nostalgia though. I've often used a Claymore on faith builds #since dark souls 1 #bloodborne lets the moonlight greatsword be a moonlight greatsword *and* claymore it's kind of crazy #unmatched poking potential honestly

Out of strength for spellcasting, unable to draw his bow back, he'd finished the kill with one of his emergency daggers instead. He was kneeling still on the ground next to the dead guilty, all his weight still on the hand clutching the hilt of the knife, gasping in ragged breaths through aching lungs, his normally-pristine moon-white robes stained red with his own blood. Maybe he'd aimed above his ability, choosing this one to hunt, but reading their list of crimes in the book—

Barely able to think through the pain and exhaustion, instinct still picked up something red prickling at the edge of his vision—because of course they were never alone—but he couldn't do much more than raise his head to look at his attacker, unable to will his body to move—

Cold steel pierced the attacker's chest from behind, and when they were pushed off the blade to fall limp and dead beside Emmet, he vaguely made out black robes and knotted dark string in his off-hand. A Pardoner. Safe.

"They're worse than common criminals, using such deceit against a Darkmoon Blade," says an unfamiliar voice, and then any further words slip into a haze of darkness.

Viewing the solar eclipse today was fun, got to take a break from work to go watch it with the rest of my coworkers. We were almost right there in the zone of totality. About halfway through I remembered that I was wearing my Blades of the Darkmoon necklace and my brain really did just say "Woah, this is just like Dark Souls!"
