The Darkmoon Knightess and Gwyndolin were actually very close before she became undead and joined the Blades of the Darkmoon.

some of the reasons for you to vote for darkmoon knightess:
● she is a badass female 'inquisitor' who hunts and punishes sinners in the name of gwyndolin;
● she is both knight and a firekeeper so she's a woman of great talents;
● just listen to her noble, deep, and soft voice!!! https://youtu.be/FQaxuL7ooCM
● her armour design is unique and has a beautiful elegant silhouette. just look for all this embellishment!
● she is DEVOTED to gwyndolin with all her heart. she thinks about him before her death if you kill her in ds1. in ds3 you can see her corpse near the tomb: most likely, she fought to save gwyndolin from aldritch. she died trying to save her most precious deity. THEY ARE LITERALLY KNIGHT/PRINCE(SS) DYNAMICS. they are god tier.
glory to the blades of the dark moon! if thou art a true disciple of the Dark Sun, cast aside thine ire, and vote for Gwyndolin's bravest soldier.
i found some pics to add :)

Could you imagine Poor Oscar of Astora/Knight of the Undead Asylum having to Rank Every Women from Dark Souls in a Tier List Thing even though he didn’t wanna do this...
(also i wanted to add more women in this picture like filianore, sieglinde and the desert sorceress but some characters didn’t have transparent background and i can only put 30 hashtags anyway plus i know gwyndolin might be a feminine dude since they use he/him pronouns but they are still “malewife” enough to be with other women so why not, Right????)

A new duo (soon to be trio) in my CotA AU. Silver Knight Ledo and the Darkmoon Knightess, who I've named Kat (>:3). They're looking for Havel, so far to no success. Then they come across Alvina.
___
*Ledo and Kat enter the Royal Woods, only to meet a peculiar feline in the ruins of a building.*
Alvina: Wanderers in such a time like this? How strange. Thoust lost? I say thou leave quickly before the beast devours thee.
Kat: The feline speaks a human tounge...
Ledo: Odd...Never seen such things.
Alvina: Yet hark. Naught but horror lies ahead. There is no time to abide here.
Ledo:...We come in search of a dear friend of mine. Once we find him, we will leave. We just need help, any help.
Kat: Yes indeed. That is all. As you know these recent times have been beyond difficult, simply...undescribable.
Alvina: Hmm...Methinks still leave for thine own safety. These woods are haunted by the walker of the Abyss himself. He shalt hunt thy very souls should thee stay any longer.
Ledo: You don't understand. I can't leave him behind-
Alvina: Avuant!...Lest thou feel the plague drip upon thy pate. The Abysswalker draws near. This is no place for thine foolery. Make haste!
*Ledo and Kat glance at each other as they hear a distant noise.*
Kat: So be it.

The more I think of it the more I realise that there is something eerie about the Darkmoon Knightess being where she is and welcoming you into Anor Londo. Firelink Shrine is supposed to feel like home, despite it's decrepitness it is and feels and looks like a safe place. After all it is a bonfire, a place of rest but it is not the kind of rest and relief the player feels when seeing the Sen's fortress or Blightown bonfire, no, Firelink Shrine is a place of rest and relief for the character, for the Chosen Undead with its greenery and the circle of rock and the familiar grumbling of the Crestfallen knight.
We are told from the intro cutscene that fire is life, is power, is holy and yet where is Anastacia of Astora? The living, breathing embodiment of these Holy Powers?
She is chained, prisoner in a small cave under the bonfire, her tongue cut "back in her village, so that she'd never say any God's name in vain". Helpless and yet stubborn as she refuses the player help even if her soul is brought back from the dead after defeating Lautrec.
Compare it to the bonfire in Anor Londo where you find the Darkmoon Knightess. It is *not* a place of relief for the Chosen Undead, it is a small room, dimly lit and with strong shadows, it feels almost claustrophobic compared to the rest of the architecture of Anor Londo seen so far and yet, there, there you find the Darkmoon Knightess, the Lady of the Darkling.
She does not "stand guard" nor does she stand tall and proud, she appear relaxed, almost bored, she doesn't need to be imposing to feel dangerous, and yet when she speaks she speaks surprisingly softly to the Chosen Undead, in a sense she feels more "homely" than Anastacia.
She is not here for the comfort of the Chosen Undead but rather for the comfort of the player. She *is* Anor Londo with the golden lights and the long shadows.

Every time I use the June Reblogs tag even though I mostly use the name Olya like everywhere all the time, all I can think about is "I'm Bill, but you can call me Tom"
