For Black History Month, I draw one black Poptropica character a day.
Today is Charlie from 24 Carrot Island!
She owns a tool shop called Charlie's Carrot Surplus Co. When her cat named Whiskers runs away and the player brings her back, Charlie gives you a crowbar that will help you later on.

folasade collection 🪴
i really wanted to do something special for black history month by collaborating with another black free cc creator so i teamed up with the incredible @yuyulie to create the folasade collection! named after the wonderful folasade “sade” adu, the folasade collection is an earthy, bohemian, and neo-soul inspired collection with 10 items that are perfect for your nature loving, free-spirited, and eclectic sims! pls download yuyulie’s side HERE (it’s amazing!!)
download my side via simsharefile (sfs) or on patreon - ALWAYS FREE!
in-depth details and cas pictures below!
for this collection, i created 3 different braided hairstyles (10 versions in total): the imani double braided buns (3 versions), amala high braided ponytails (3 versions), and the maliyah afro with a braided front (4 versions). each hair has a version (v1) without the side braids, a version (v2) that is compatible with yuyulie’s beautifully designed hair beads that can be found in the piercing section, and a version (v3) that has the side braids but with the base game wooden beads. the maliyah afro has an extra version (v4) that is a fuller and slightly larger version of the v1 afro. enjoy! 🫶🏾
base game compatible (bgc)
maxis palette (24 swatches)
teen-elder
fem frame (it’s enabled it for both frames)
not hat compatible (some accessories can fit!)
clipping might occur with the side braids (depending on a sim’s face, earrings, and/or body shape)
maliyah afro v4 slightly high poly (12k)!!

Welcome to Black Excellence 365, where we celebrate all things Black and Excellent every day of the year. This month, for March, we will be taking a look at a new theme and source of pride & expression: Hair ✂️.
This month is all about hair, and its importance to Black style, culture, music, history, politics, and, most of all, Black Excellence. Black hair is an essential part of the Black experience. You name it, we’ll look at, explore, and celebrate it: cornrows, box braids, natural coils, knotless braids, goddess braids, twists, pixie crops, locks, wavy hair, crochet braids, and everything in between. Black hair goes hand-in-hand with every aspect of Black life and touches every corner of the world. Care for Black hair is a labor of love ❤️and a long, long process that involves washing, detangling, combing, oiling, braiding, twisting, and decorating the hair, which creates not just a sense of beauty but honors its spiritual power. And this legacy lives on today across Black life. In the 60s, the Afro was a big expression of Black power, pride, connection, and revolution popular with artists, performers, youth, and activists. Some artists would use their hair as an expression of art, as they do today, while young Black Americans would ‘fro their hair to emulate the style of the civil rights heroes like the Black Panthers and convey Black pride, as pioneered by the Queen, Angela Davis. Since that time, Black hair has become a symbol of celebration, a reminder of our roots, and a call to embrace heritage while politically rejecting Eurocentric ideals. Today, the Natural Hair Movement is carried with pride and power. Black hair has always been political — in the same vein, in 2019, The Crown Act (sign the petition|email your legislator) was passed as a starting point to support Black Folx in their appreciation of their hair — their CROWN 👑. Whatever the period, whatever the style, It is all Black Excellence and is here to be celebrated 24/7.
But BE365 is nothing without you: so POST your favorite hairstyles, iconic Black cuts, shapes, and styles, and your cutting-edge hairdressers and stylists who turn Black hair into art, and Black Excellence. And don’t forget to tag your content with #blackexcellence365 for the chance to be featured. And last but not least, join us for our celebration and of the very best in Black hair of every shape and every style. Make sure you join in, follow, and smash that share button using the tag #BlackExcellence365.
Welcome to March in #BlackExcellence365 ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽!

Heyy
So, this is mostly just a fun timeline I made with little research backing it, but I thought it might be cool to share?
It goes through what historical events happened throughout Alastor’s life that might have impacted him and sets the stage for what his life might have looked like. It does hinge quite a bit on US history, so I will also touch on parts of that for our friends who aren’t from the US and don’t know : D
Now keep in mind that this is more of just a list of fun facts that i’ve shoved into a readable outline, than anything put together lol.
Alastor is said to be in his 30’s or 40’s when he died in 1933, this puts his year of birth at a rough range of 1890-1900. For the purpose of this timeline, I will be assuming that Alastor was born in the year 1902 because I want to. This would make him 31 at the time of his death.
In 1892, the supreme court ruled on Plessy vs Ferguson, which was what established the idea of ‘Separate but Equal’ <- (i'm assuming people know what that is and stuff, if you don’t know, feel free to ask, I can give more of a history lesson)
From 1900-1909, education past the 5th grade did not EXIST in New Orleans for black children. This is a large part of why I believe a birth year of at least 1900 would be more accurate for Alastor, as he would have been 7-9 (2nd-4th) when middle school (6th-8th) became available to him.
In 1917, McDonogh No. 35 High School became the first public high school for black teens. Alastor would have been 15 in my timeline. This means that he would have likely been out of school for a year under the assumption that he wouldn’t be able to go anymore. (There were a couple private schools, but those were Expensive!!)
1920: KKK reemerged in Louisiana <- (again, assuming people know the history on this, if you would like a quick history lesson, lmk!!)
In 1921, Alastor graduated! Yay!! He is now 19!
Now, a fun fact! Throughout all of this, radio has not existed as a Thing in New Orleans. Alastor would not have grown up listening to the radio. It would have been new tech for him!!
In 1922, the first radio station came to New Orleans!!! It’s called WWL and it runs … drumroll please … ADS!!! In an attempt to raise funds for Loyola University! Exciting, right? : D
By 1927, the Federal Radio Commission was established in an effort to help organize airwaves, which had become messy and disorganized from the abundance of unlicensed, random people broadcasting.
1933: Alastor dies D:
Also 1933, oddly enough, A newspaper somehow managed to get radio stations in New Orleans legally banned from airing news from the last 24 hours?????
An interesting note. This ban went through in the summer. Deer season is in the winter (Dec-Jan), so it was either banned 6 months before or 6 months after Alastor’s death
1934: FRC is replaced by the Federal Communications Commission
This is pretty much all I have. I also am including some of the links to sources that I thought were interesting. Super open to discussions and questions lol. Hope someone enjoyed reading all this lmao
And also @nunalastor cause you seemed interested and I finally got everything together lol

Eden Gray
some eden facts!!!!
she's 24 and a cancer
she grew up going to school with noelle and had the biggest crush up until sophomore year when she realized they were better off as friends (yes she's met avery and is absolutely terrified of him)
she had braces for 3 years in middle school but ripped up EVERY photographic proof of them
she was bullied relentlessly in school for her weight but now those same guys hit her up almost every day she gets a sick twisted pleasure from screenshotting all their dick pics/nasty messages and sending them to their moms <3
she doesn't know her birth dad he lives somewhere in Colorado now with the woman he cheated on her mom with. Her mom remarried when she was 14. She considers him to be her actual dad and is very close with both of her parents
Both her mom and dad are professors, so she gets free tuition baybee!!! She's majoring in art history and minoring in ceramics
she once sent money to a girl for a plane ticket so she could visit her. She never showed up and she found out the girl lived in her city and blocked her when eden texted her about her money. After everything she still hooked up with the girl a month later after being unblocked 😒
shes absolutely terrified of the dark and will get panic attacks. She sleeps with a cute little night light next to her bed that's in the shape of a fat bunny. Her dad installed reactive lights to their driveway after she ran face first into their front door because she forgot to leave their porch light on and it was pitch black outside
her favorite drink is unsweetened black peach iced tea
her favorite colors are white, brown, orange, and baby blue
she hates coffee and diet soda (it's not the same 🫵🏼🫵🏼)

Everyone’s forgotten about Lizzie.
She’s sure of it. They must think she’s dead, and if they didn’t, they wouldn’t help her anyway, because they hate her.
That’s what she tells herself. That it’s deliberate ill intent, and not that any memory of her has just completely slipped from everybody’s mind.
It’s less painful that way.
And Lizzie’s been left on her own, falling through the void, darkness all around her.
She isn’t even sure if she’s falling. She might just be floating, untethered. There’s no wind here, and everything is just black.
The worst part are the whispers.
Lizzie didn’t know who they are. She’d tried asking them, but when she opens her mouth no voice comes out, which terrifies her. She might be deaf, she doesn’t know. She can’t see or hear or feel anything.
It means that if she cries for help no one would hear it. The whispers seemed to have been behind that.
The whispers.
A soft, steady pattering into her head 24/7 (if she could know the date) that would probably drive her insane if she hadn’t already and is just hallucinating.
She wants it to stop, so bad.
The communicator pings over and over. She watches the other players going on with their lives and deaths, the playful bickering, the serious reports, and so many, so many deaths.
She keeps wondering. Imagining scenarios whenever she sees a message. Etho dying to Scar’s hands. The Heart Foundation rambling about gifts and favours. Life continues, without her.
It’s as if she was never there at all. When Jimmy dies she hears the whispers discussing the players’ grief, of their shouts of anguish.
When she died there was just silence.
It’s no use. She’ll never know the circumstances, never know about the world going on above her while she falls.
She can’t send messages, blocked by solid code, only receive them. She concludes that it’s a cruel joke on the part of the whispers.
One day the whispers stop.
Lizzie is hopeful that this means a change in her situation, in which she’s completely helpless.
But then she checks the chat, and realises there’s no one else left on the server but Scar. The whispers have grown bored.
The ghosts leave the game, one by one.
Days pass. Could be months, or hours. Lizzie sees the last sign of life leaving the server when Scar’s death message pops up in chat, and she instinctively yells, “No!” and instead of the silence that would come before when she tried to speak, her voice emerges instead, hoarse from days of neglect.
Ironic.
She can only speak when there’s no one to hear her.
She knows Scar will happily respawn in Hermitcraft, congratulated on a stunning win. If it was stunning. She hasn’t seen anything but black for who knows how long, and she can’t even tell if her eyes are open.
She doesn’t say anything again, left in complete silence as she falls through the void, wiped from history.
-
people trying to justify canary curse with the “lizzie is still alive” theory are focusing on the wrong person in that hypothetical
i’ll write a happy ending if at least one person tells me to, which i don’t think will happen so i get to kick up my feet in the meantime
