So just because I'm running out of ideas on what to post and would rather die than be one of those accounts you thought you could rely on for fic recs but then suddenly goes inactive for 7 years which then causes irreversible trust issues for any idiot who thought it would be a good idea to trust anything to do with me, I'm gonna say a bit about my favourite authors and their best fics.

Okay so my baby girl lala is such an amazing writer and in my opinion captures bkdks dynamic the best of all the fics I’ve read. She somehow writes gripping plots, leg opening smut and the most hilarious banter. Her character construction is incredible. Effortlessly funny and she clearly knows how to write. Okay now where to go with this. Rtwl has always been a more intense read. Especially brothers keeper it felt a bit…bitter. But not in the way it lacked plot but the author is so talented they always manage to evoke emotions out of me. I think this author wins really good story progression but then again all these authors write incredible plots. Their stuff usually feels more intense, maybe even gritty, but don't trust me on that because I honestly don't even know what it means :)

warschach definitely has a very distinct way of writing bkdk. I feel like their depiction of bkdk is a little more playful or lighthearted than the stuff with rtwl or lalazee but still constructs great plot and effortless humor. I don’t really know how to put it in words but bakugou especially feels a little more awkward and a little more modernised in their stuff. Yes modernised is the best way to describe it. So basically all the ‘extremities’ of his personality are toned down a little and his character kind of adopts the traits of your typical swag high schooler.

okay is is MAJOR whump, read the warnings before you read the fic and take them seriously. that said, I love loved this fic to bits and peices and it triggered a search for similar material that I just couldn't find. basically:
"Katsuki is blinded. Izuku is muted. Both of them are kidnapped. Things get worse."
ktdk are kidnapped and are forced to depend on each other, slowly losing their senses of selves and triggering major co-dependency. it has a happy ending and god the way it's written is just so good. I cannot reccommend it enough, it really takes you into their viewpoints and how vital it is that they know exactly where the other is as they grow dependant, and how they start blending together to the point that if one is taken away, the other feels like their world crumples and aspj;oerjjepgijiegwe READ IT

I am obsessed with their characterisations in this fic. especially katsuki's, which is so hard to get right and I'm jealous how accurate the author makes him. ktdk in this fic love each other so so so so so much and they are so ride or die. it's exactly what it says in the summary, what it doesn't mention is how the first chapter will make you clench your jaw with tenseness and then melt into a pile of mush for the second two.

Bakugou gets kidnapped, and Izuku is surprised that nobody else knows what to do. It's a normal childhood occurrence, right?
this isn't technically ktdk but it's adjacent-ish. it's back in the LoV kidnapping arc where izuku, used to a lifetime of kidnapping events, goes and singlehandedly gets kacchan back. i don't know how to describe it any better than that, I just love fics where izuku kind of comes out of left-field with skills that people don't realise he's had because his life-experience as a quirkless person means he's been exposed to different things. plus, he's badass and i always love reading aizawa's reaction to his problem child going off and causing him problems

okay the summary for this one is too long for a tumblr post that's already long so I'm making my own
Katsuki and Izuku grew up with each other in a forest deeper, bigger, and more mysterious than any usual gathering of trees. they are seperated when soldiers come to burn down their world; Izuku is taken to a city of sand as prisoner, ending up as the prince's advisor, while Katsuki is taken to a camp to train as a soldier for those in the city. They struggle to find each other and go back home once more
if you love intense world-building, political/smart!Izuku, bamf!Katsuki, and ktdk willing to burn the world for each other (and if you're coming here from OEL then you probably do) then this is the fic for you. i haven't had the extra brain power/time to immerse myself and finish this just yet, but i'm halfway through and i want to take this fic by the shoulders and snuggle it, maybe chew on it's fingers a little bit. I need to become one with the fic. it's amazing

IVE BEEN PSYCHICALLY BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ME THIS THANK FUCK!!!!! ok SO. i have my own particular lists of fic recs. theyre all organized in diff ways depending on how im feeling, but for the sake of aligning with the fics i rec'd in that post, im gonna suggest long and plotty fics!
warning that some of these fics have triggering topics and/or are nsfw! so be sure to read the tags n protect yourself as needed ^^ all fics have a wordcount of 5+ digits
FIRST you got the fandom classics. the way you used to do, incinerate, zero: birth of the worlds best hero duo, and fire lily -- these are all EXTREMELY plot heavy n angsty, meaning you'd kinda need a break right?
SO then you have your fluff monsters. surprise reunions and childhood rekindling and you left a sour aftertaste by my wife, @lady-of-snails, sugar stardust, and dance with me
then you move on to the canon divergents! not too much of an AU to leave heroes, but enough to alter the plot. before midnight, second chance, landscape after cruelty, and while you were sleeping,
and then then THEN you get to the REAL AUs. the shit thats out of scope. fluff monsters were kind of these, but i had to separate it cause these next ones are ANGST BEASTS.... someone borrowed, mechanical bull, and beyond sea and storm
but at the end of the day, we all gotta return to the basics at some point right? so here i end it with the naturally fluffy (relatively shorter) canon compliants and future aus. grief counseling, play it cool, do not disturb, and sneku

I finally get to share my piece for the 2022 BKDK Big Bang!
Summary:
The Hero Commission has a major problem. The burnout rate is at an all time high and they can’t seem to figure out why. Rookie Pro-Heroes DynaMight and Deku could tell you why: they’re underpaid, overworked, and barely hanging on by a thread. And by being at the bottom of the barrel, they get the worst of the worst. In an attempt to incentivize their heroes to have more work-life balance, the Commission is giving all married heroes a 30% raise.
No one would take advantage of that, right?
