Manwë took a deep breath and froze.

The air tasted bittersweet, carrying thrilling notes of desperate fear.

As he took flight, he knew not what he was going to find, but he trusted his element and his instincts unquestioningly.

Someone was reaching out to him, weaving their call for aid into the invisible ocean through which the Lord of Winds surged so effortlessly.

The avian Maia—young and endearingly innocent-looking—was perched on the edge of a crumbling nest, his bright blue eyes glistening with tears.

“Fear not, little one,” Manwë spoke. “You shall be part of my family henceforth!”

Jon gives up his freedom with the wildlings, then he tells the truth of what he did Beyond the Wall, and becomes a bird in a cage for it, put there by a predator that had already helped cage Sansa and even when he kills Slynt, he’s still trapped in the cage that’s been made for him

This is the only one I remember, Bran wishing all the Starklings being ravens living together in Master Luwin's rookery:

The trees remember, but men forget, and so now they write the messages on parchment and tie them round the feet of birds who have never shared their skin."

Old Nan had told him the same story once, Bran remembered, but when he asked Robb if it was true, his brother laughed and asked him if he believed in grumkins too. He wished Robb were with them now. I'd tell him I could fly, but he wouldn't believe, so I'd have to show him. I bet that he could learn to fly too, him and Arya and Sansa, even baby Rickon and Jon Snow. We could all be ravens and live in Maester Luwin's rookery.
