Bill Laurance - Aftersun - new album from Snarky Puppy keyboardist
For his third album, Bill Laurance decided to reduce his music to its roots. He eschewed orchestration in favour of inviting the celebrated St. Louis-based percussionist Weedie Braimah into the fold, allowing his deep understanding of West African rhythm to inform the direction of the music.
Alongside Bill's Snarky Puppy bandmates, Michael League and Robert "Sput” Searight, Laurance and Braimah bring danceable percussion to the fore, combining deep grooves with Laurance's signature genre-bending exploration.

I’ve made this joke SO many times but in my fics I have this headcanon that Dante and Laurance basically just both have two jobs in order for them to keep up with all the bills they need to live on mystreet BY THEMSELVES compared to the lives they used to live with their roommates to even out the bills but now it makes me sad now that I’m putting it into words like :(((

Too much stuff from my mystreet rewrite
Werewolves primary pant to cool down and only sweat around their wrists
Like dogs werewolves will correct baby werewolves behaviors by pushing them on their back
But sometimes they forget other parents don’t do that so there have been moments where a kid is acting up in a store and a werewolf just shoved them onto their back
Aaron does that to Nana if she ever gets in someone’s personal bubble
Nana isn’t stalkerish like in the original she just has a hard time remembering that people have boundaries around physical touch
Zane tried it on Garroth once and Garroth always retells the story like it was mufasa’s death
Ein and Aphmau were actually really close when they were little and they tried a bunch of stupid stunts
He started drifting away from her when they were around 12 to 13
Nicole met Katelyn when she was “running away” because her dad set up another play date with Garroth
Garroth and Nicole never hated eachother but after their parents kind of forcing them to hang out they kept their distance in their teens
They make up when they are adults and bond over destroying/blowing things up
Garroth was a very destructive kid and his parents had to get him very strong toys or else he would break them within two days
Vlayd wanted to be exactly like garroth and Zane and he copied everything they did
It was normal to see Vlayd walking exactly like Garroth and Zane around the house
Aphmau has known Laurance since they were 8 because Sylvanna would always buy Laurance and Cadenza toys and clothes
It’s very hard for werewolves and meif’wa to find clothes that fit around their tails and ears they normally have to cut holes in hoodies or pants
Cadenza started a little business in middle school and she would sell special clothes that fit tails and ears and sell them for two dollars
She was being sponsored by Garroth’s parents
Depending on the weather the hoodies would have holes for the ears to poke through or pockets for the ears so they stayed warm
Aaron’s parents “home schooled” him until he went through puberty and his ears fully developed
It wasn’t really home schooling him and more keeping him locked inside so no one could see his ears and tail
Sylvanna wasn’t fond of Aaron because he looked like a delinquent until one day he confided in her about his parents leaving out the werewolf bit
When she finally met Aaron’s parents she gave one word answers and was very condescending when talking to them
Sylvanna didn’t hate boys because of aphmau and ein’s dad instead she is very cautious around any potential love interest and warns her kids not to get into relationships without knowing who the person really is
All of the Ro’Maeve boys are big mama boys because their mom always stuck up for Zane and Vlayd when their dad showed favoritism
When all of the boys are in college Zianna divorces Garte since the boys college was already fully paid by him and she didn’t have to rely on him or put up with his treatment of her kids
Zane, Katelyn, Aphmau, Aaron, and Travis tried playing the game of life once
Aaron was the banker and they yelled at him when he had to give them 40k and tried giving them 50k and get 10k back
They didn’t want to give him money and demanded he give them 40k in only 10k bills
They also all screamed at eachother throughout the entire thing
Katelyn tried to bargain with the other players to replace her children with pets
It didn’t work

I think I saw this somewhere else, but Do you have any thoughts/ideas on Nimona MCD AU
OMG!! Hold on let me gather myself here
Okay, I haven't seen Nimona in a minute so I might be off on some things, and I am a slut for garrance so ofc this is a garrance au, but you could throw some other gays at this and make a great au.
So Garroth is Ambrosious. This fits well with him being the golden child of O'Khasis and the head guard of Phoenix Drop. He is someone who others look up to and he has a certain image he must maintain.
Obviously Ballister is Laurance. Come on, he's perfect for it. Laurance angst is my fav and there is so much here. Laurance was an orphan, he wanted to be a knight so he did everything he could to get there, but is still looked down upon by his peers. I like to think he is adopted by the Zvahl's shortly after becoming the first knight not from a noble bloodline. Speaking of the bloodlines
The knights would probably all be descendants form divine warriors, which would make Aphmau/Irene as Gloreth perfect!! Mirroring the way she is worshipped in mcd. But then who is Nimona? Well this is gonna be a weird one, but I think Sasha fits the bill. She's someone who's seen as evil and has learned to deal with it. She would be looking for a fellow outcast to team up with (like her and Gene in canon, you could also make a case for Gene as Ballister here). And idk, smth about Sasha and Aphmau filling these roles here scratches my brain just right.
Now the juicy stuff, who is the director? This would be a nice role to put Ivy into. She's someone with a lot of power in mcd, she's got close ties to the Ro'Meaves, and it would make sense that she doesn't want an outsider join the ranks of the knights. And the Queen would be Zianna cuz she's an easy pick, and it adds more angst with Garroth and Laurance (or Gene, if ur going with that)
Anyway, this doesn't have the most popular characters in it, but I think it's the best fit character for each role. Ballister is the one role I could see changing the most, there are a lot of morally grey characters it would be fun to see.

okay okay ik this idea is probably shit but what if Garroth and Laurence were Bill and frank?
WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME BRAIN WORMS I AM NOT ALONE. their relationship and arc together is so similar to laurance and garroth’s (specifically MCD) and frank reminds me so much of laurance. garroth and bill both start off closed off and lonely until they meet someone who is their polar opposite but somehow is able to see them for who they truly are. in tlou frank so effortlessly peels back bill’s walls and bill doesn’t retreat and that is sooooooo garrance MCD season 1. my brain goes to the argument garroth and laurance have at malachi’s castle about the encroaching danger of okasis possibly invading phoenix drop. laurance calls out garroth for selfishly running away and not being transparent with aph about the possible invasion. he challenges garroth’s hard exterior.
in a perfect world garrance would’ve been written with the same grace and care as bill and frank’s story
