My Twilight Saga film ranking with my brief thoughts

1. New Moon - literally so amazing idc if it’s ‘boring’ it’s interesting to me. You get Volturi, Jacob NOT BEING CHARACTER ASSASSINATED, Alice being a mega slay, THAT ONE VICTORIA VS JACOB FIGHT THAT WAS SO GOOD and a banging soundtrack (like this film GAVE US ROSALYN)

2. Twilight - blue overlay supreme. It’s some cute stuff I won’t lie, most of the cast look so so good and cool. I want to go to there. Not much to say, it’s a classic and it’s worthy of everybody’s respect for the shit the crew had to do to make the film happen.

3. Breaking Dawn Part 2 - honestly Michael Sheen saved the film idc. It suffers because it took the worst book of the saga and split it so it’s boring but what’s good is WE FINALLY GET TO SEE THE SWANS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS (we never see that)

4. Breaking Dawn Part 1 - it’s part Bellward fan service and half body horror. I can respect it, it’s boring yes but I do respect the dedication to Bellward. Like if you can have 2 scenes where the wife is happier with her husband’s sister and her best friend than the husband and imagine a better honeymoon than the one she has and STILL be so dedicated props to you. The wedding was the best scene in the film it was gorgeous. Why was regamond even born? Character holes for DAYS. Like dude how is Edward so scared to kiss Belle because ‘venom in system’ yet he shoots it casually up her cooch no condom? Confused a bit. I’m convinced that Ranaldo has some sort of immortal child quality and manipulated Bella because why would she think she’d be a perfect copy of Big Ed? Renepoopoo is a loser.

5. Eclipse - confusion the film. I don’t like the story much lmao so I didn’t have much fun. Everyone is such a dick in this book for no reason, and this is the character assassination of Jacob. Both love interests act like such dicks and that assault scene was painful. The taking the engine out of you car also isn’t great. And the ending is just…what? It’s like in Bree Tanner, the volturi guard made a deal with Vicky to attach them in 5 days. But the whole thing in Twilight is SHE DONT GIVE AF. She lives how she wants to live, she doesn’t let the Cullens or the Volturi define her and James. She just wants to eat and fuck her hubby. I’m just so confused.

𝙀𝙙𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖 + Kisses

While Christasia and Julia and Gabriel celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, and Bellward celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, Hessa was not legally married at all (good morning, if someone didn't know).

I love such photos so much in which you do not want to stop kissing with your soul mate, but you need to breathe a drop of air during the break.

But the ways I do now think Twilight copied Buffy and Angel, tbh. And it doesn’t really bother me, because I think most stories are secretly a copy of something else. But I also get why most Buffy fans probably know this and are pissed.

Buffy and the Bella part of Bella’s name being the same number of letters. And Bella Swan is the same initials as Buffy Summers.

The stalking thing. And Angel sometimes coming into Buffy’s room through her window. Though usually Buffy was awake for this, and they’d talk. But kind of like Bella and Edward, there were a few times that Angel and Buffy would spend the night together (but not doing anything. Also, Angel sleeps, unlike Angel). And there’s a moment where Angel is watching Buffy sleep, but I feel it’s not as creepy as Edward. Because it’s after they’ve spent the night together, and Angel wakes up before her and is admiring her. Angelus, though, does break into Buffy’s room one night when she’s sleeping, and strokes her cheek and leaves a drawing of her by her bedside. Also, Buffy at least corrects Angel about the whole stalking thing once... but then proceeds to never really care again. Though to be fair, Angel does do it way less than Edward. But he still does it. She does get mad at him for secretly spying on her and protecting her in the Thanksgiving episode--after they’d broken up and decided to go their separate ways--but it was more because he wasn’t sticking to their agreement, and because he got to see her but she didn’t get to see him.

When they first kiss, both vampires temporarily lose it.

Angel gives Buffy his black leather jacket, Edward gives Bella his black leather jacket.

This is more a movie thing... but I know Buffy has a line where she tells Angel “so don’t go” after he was thinking of doing so. And this reminds me of the Twilight movie, where Edward says “I don’t have the strength to stay away from you anymore”, and Bella says “So don’t.”

Both Buffy and Bella became so enamored with their vampire boyfriends, that they were really the only things they saw of the future and didn’t really see any of the obvious issues ahead.

There’s a Sadie Hawkins dance in Buffy (and a guy asks Buffy... and I think she even goes “Isn’t that girls’ choice?” And he goes, “Well, I was kind of hoping you’d ask”, that Buffy doesn’t want to go to because of how she just turned Angel into Angelus and never wants to date again. In Twilight, boys keep asking Bella to the dance (and she reminds them it’s girls’ choice). And she says “no” to all of them. But she later says that if Edward had asked her, she probably would’ve said yes.

Though it’s for different reasons, both sort of have a “Can’t Ever Have Sex” relationship. 

Both pairings go to prom together, after the guy has already decided to leave the girl so that it’s sort of a “last dance”.

I feel Bangel and Bellward’s breakups are pretty identical. Buffy: “I want my life to be with you.” Angel: “I don’t.” Buffy: “You don’t want to be with me?” Edward: “Bella, I don’t want you to come.” Bella: “You don’t want me?” Edward: “You’re just not good for me, Bella.” Bella: “Not good enough for you.” And both girls are hearing things that aren’t there, because of their own insecurities, and aren’t realizing that they’re doing it for them. Actually, Buffy somewhat knows this--and even agrees with it, deep down--but still somehow tricks herself into thinking Angel doesn’t want to be with her in that moment? And that he’s not just doing it for her own good? Oh, and both Angel and Edward leave their girls... but come back (though only sometimes in Angel’s case).

Both pairings are written as soulmates.

Both series have vampire sex leading to broken houses.

Both Edward and Bella and Buffy and Angel have offspring... though in Buffy and Angel’s case (in the comics), they gave birth to an entirely new universe. And you know what? At this point--after Twilight had become a popular thing--I get why there are Twilight references in this part of the Buffy series. Angel has a secret identity called “Twilight”. And Buffy says to Twilight--before she knows he’s Angel--something like, “Twilight? That’s what you decided to call yourself? You know, I did that whole thing first. And my vampire was cooler.”

Angel and Edward both think they’ve done awful things (which is true) and brood, but they sort of wake up and find their callings through these girls.

I guess both sides initially tried to fight their feelings for each other.

Both Angel and Edward are probably doomed to Hell, but will try to do good, anyway (moreso in Angel’s case).

There are maybe other things that I’m forgetting.

And I guess both Buffy and Bella are special. Buffy for sure, as the Chosen One Slayer (and the best Slayer ever), and Bella as someone who was born to be a vampire, etc.

And I feel like Edward looks a bit like Angel did, maybe.

And tbh... there are abusive elements to both relationships. Yes, even with Buffy and Angel, and not Angelus. And I can kind of excuse the Angel moment, where he wanted to kill himself and Buffy was trying to stop him (and he then kind of attacked her) and stuff like that. But still.

Buffy and Bella both eventually having the kind of depression where you feel nothing.

Buffy being like “How am I supposed to stay away from you?” matches a lot of Bella’s thoughts about Edward.

Angel and Edward both trying to kill themselves through the sun, but in somewhat different ways.

The talks of forever.

This is everything.. Robert and Kristen kissing each other so deeply and Rob’s hands are all over her body ready to make out then and there while they were supposed to shoot their 1st kiss after Bella becoming a vampire 😁 it seems like they really had hard time to resist to each other and they never cared about the crew ( they’re like a drug to each other, their own brand of heroin 😜) .. Dear Edward Cullen, I literally have no words for you. You are the sapphire emerging from blue. In the century where loosing virginity is considered cool, I am so moved by your pious thoughts. Yes, it is right when they say 'Old is Gold.' You were not ready to have sex with Bella until you both got married and may be that is why you have millions and trillions of female fans all over the globe. We women are in search for someone who falls in love with our soul, not with our body just like the way you fell in love with Bella. You are such a role model for all of us. You didn't only resisted your blood lust for her but also was even ready to sacrifice yourself for her good. You left her in middle of nowhere just to make sure she is safe from Volturi. You offered your own self to them just to protect her. You were ready to take every possible step for her safety. You even stalked her. How can be a man so good and so perfect? Well even after watching twilight more than a dozen times, I am still amazed. You are our new inspiration of love. After Romeo and Juliet, Bellward is our new ship. You beared it even when Bella kissed Jacob. You even tolerated it after knowing Bella loved him too. Even after everything you have been through, you still seeked Jacob's help even when you didn't wanted to just for Bella's sake and allowed him to leave his wolf impression on Renesmee for her safety. You stood up with your family. You fought for your daughter. You allied with werewolves to protect your loved ones. You were just and honest. Indeed, you were a perfect son, a perfect husband, a perfect brother and a perfect father. God! I wish you were in real life. You are just so perfect that I cannot describe it in words. You are the man of virtues, man of honor and principles and yes our generation lacks people like you. If everybody around starts following your footprints, then rape cases and molestations will reside no more in this world. I just can't get over with you.
