Idk how to say that acknowledging Larian's racism regarding Wyll but then turning around and saying he's bland/poorly written is still racism on your part. You're still refusing to pay attention to his character and you're still just dusting off your hands and repeating what everyone else says because you can't take two seconds to actually see him as more than the hero trope the way you delve into the other characters.

I love how the show makes Private smart and a competent fighter despite his squishy, naive personality. Some media these days is so bad with its characters being one-dimensional and boxed to a single personality trait, but tpom actually has really in-depth characters

svsss thing i cant stop thinking about, and im hoping its not a case of i just misinterpreted a thing but i'm pretty sure we got a just casual reveal of the fact that Shen Qingqiu didn't kill Liu Qingge
like, in that dream sequence where SQQ sees the events and deaths in the original story/gets his limbs ripped off, he sees LQG going through his qi deviation, and LQG stabs himself. SQQ doesn't stab him. like sure he didn't save him like Shen Yuan does but he didn't go into that cave with the intent to do a murder
idk it just really struck me, and it was so casual and there was bigger stuff happening in that dream sequence but with everything else we learn about SQQ/Shen Jiu the fact that he spends the whole original novel being 'LQG's murderer' and he just. he didn't do it. he did a lot of other crap but he didn't kill that one guy you expected him to kill. i think about it a lot

the obsession with painting aang as a hypocrite is hilarious because
this fandom will claim he’s the most stagnant and least developed character because he allegedly stuck to the same moral code from birth...
and then give you a list of all the times he didn’t do that in the next breath 💀
this is not @ any one person in case someone trying to be messy. I was just reminded of that youtube compilation lmao

this is conon but coryo has panic attacks and i just feel like we need to focus on that more
like he’s so fragile by keeping up this image that it just all cracks??? that’s such a good character detail and shines a light on his humanity
that was something that struck me so much when I first saw the film and then when I started reading the book (I still haven’t finished it, things have been getting in the way😭)
But it’s even more palpable in the book??? Especially the Capitol zoo scene and also the part where Highbottom talks to him in the beginning like the book represents that so well since we get his inner thoughts.
I think that is one of the crucial parts of his character, that really grounds him and makes him realistic and like you said it shows his humanity!

blow to brad’s ego? blow to brad’s ego!?! try, blow to the carefully crafted persona he’s build for himself to protect himself that was brutally ripped from him by his brother and is now falling apart as his mental health issues get worse, his eating disorder is starting to bleed into conversations and his work while he is powerless because he saved jo from GOING TO PRISON by putting the blame on himself and losing everything.
but yeah i guess you could say it was “a blow to brad’s ego”.

I'm late but I want to join the speculation.
RM - started out very straight and then opened his pov and now doesn't use a label (though still basically straight because he's too emotional for queer romance)
Jin - straight
Yoongi - less bi/pan than people want him to be but not strictly straight
Hobi - straight
Jimin - I lean towards straight. Not sure because I think a lot of what gets pointed to as indicating his sexuality is more about gender expression. He has been vocal for years about breaking down stereotypes of what is considered "manly".
Tae - queer - though I don't think he does labels. I think it's about being, in his own words "free".
JK - queer - but I also think he's not one to vibe with labels. I also think his intentional engagement around gender expression doesn't get enough credit.
(Random sidenote: I think a lot of the "proof" about JK/JM's relationship comes from early days when they were two young boys figuring out how to navigate the gender stereotypes ("manly muscles" and "cute boy next door") that they had and that were being put on them as opposed to how they started to understand their own desires around what they wanted to express and how. I also think that's where JK's resistance on being "cute" comes from.)
Namjoon being still “basically straight” after he got traumatized by his ig bf situationship is very funny to say 😭
I agree about Jimin! He fought really hard to break the early days image people (the company) wanted to push on him, and most of his actions revolve around gender expression.
I also believe labels are important for some people and while I agree on Taehyung, I think Jk would probably use a label. And you’re right, he’s also very involved with genderless brands.

No wait, please come back and talk about Ichiro and Nemu's perceived lack of sense of self that comes from confidence issues. Or not; I'm not the boss of you.
i am quite literally always down to talking about ichiro and nemu lol
i’ve been looking at it like neither ichiro nor nemu have had the opportunity to explore who they are and grow up as themselves because they really aren’t at a place to do so
for ichiro, he’s crafted himself to being the perfect big bro he thinks his brothers need. like, he’s so focused on not being anything his brother’s don’t need it took nemu unlocking buried childhood memory #896 for him to recall a food he enjoyed enough to call a fav 😭😭😭 in the tdd manga, you see a lot of ichiro’s less than savoury sides of his personality, his hotheadedness, his very brash way of speaking, and a touch of ruthlessness. it’s all facets of himself that helped drive jiro and saburo away so he buried them once he got the chance to be the ‘adult’ figure in his brother’s lives out of a fear he’d drive them away again
nemu, on the other hand, is doing great lol unfortunately, she just got brainwashed just as she was coming into herself. however, because of she views herself as weak, she’s blind to the fact she’s always stood her ground in the face of wrongdoing. her standing up to otome??? her standing up to samatoki’s brand of violence??? her not even flinching when terrorists threatened to kill her??? that strength’s always been in her character but since she had to rely on her brother (and that reliance led to fuel samatoki’s violent lifestyle), she doesn’t see that about herself and only views herself as a damsel

Omg I loved the fic!! Alhaitham's such a good daddy🥺🥺 and as always you write so beautifully. That first image of them laying on the coach with the sun and everything is so nice. Lazy weekends with him sound like a dream. Love the bit of brattiness in the reader too!! Can't wait to read what else you write !! Take care Clari💓
aaah thank you so much anon!!! i’m super super happy to hear it!!! <333 he really is eeee like personally i think he’d be a stern and strict but good Daddy, a Daddy who actually cares and wants you to better yourself instead of a toxic Daddy who merely wants to own you and make you his prized possession, his favourite toy. i think alhaitham contains toxic traits, of course, but in terms of the type of Daddy he’d be, i think he’d genuinely be splendid at the job—or, at least, a hell of a lot better than the other Daddies i usually write ehehe (*/ω\*)
yes!!! i headcanon him to be a serious brat tamer that needs an exceptionally bratty sub who he consistently has to put in their place (and who also always keeps him on his toes, always keeps him challenged, always keeps things interesting and unpredictable). thank you thank you thank you sweetpea <3 i’m so excited to share more of my genshin writing with you!!!
