And he laughs! Because you’re rolling your eyes at him even though he’s right. But he’d follow through with giving praise, there’s definitely a mental barrier where he hates that he’s giving you it, but then again, your reactions to it are turning him on so much, he can’t stop it.

I have the beginning of a concept brewing hear me out
some sort of academic award ceremony/gala, maybe you’re being awarded something over him, and he can’t admit that he’s proud of you and that you do actually deserve it.
at the gala he’s doing so many little things to piss you off, whether it’s purposely stepping on your dress, bumping his shoulder into yours, sending you certain looks that only you know what they mean. His comments are always a little snide and passive aggressive and he’s got that stupid grin on his face the whole time.
then you go to the bathroom and of course he’s standing right outside because he ‘needed to talk to you’ and it leads to maybe the best sex the two of you have, pressed up against a stall in the bathroom or in a nearby supplies closet, where he’s fucking you rough but for the first time, he’s muttering praises to your ear and lips and skin.
praises about how good you’re making him feel, how much he loves fucking you, but also how smart you are, how much he hates how smart you are, etc.

academy coryo would not do pda at the academy but he would always hold your hand or thigh under the table during lecture
answered an ask about this but !!!
I agree though, I think pda is always very minimal for him (academy coryo specifically), like he’d want people to know you’re his, but he’d never wanna overdo anything, so handholding is all he’d really do, or a hand in your lower back.
But when you’re next to one another in class, his hand can easily rest on your thigh, squeeze it, rub it, even get a little too touchy if he’s feeling confident enough
