#it’s so hard to look at these photos#I’m hoping maybe putting them here will help me face the pain and trauma associated with them#I think it’s especially painful because they were all such sweethearts#actual angels who were so gentle and patient with baby me#if i could go back in time and save all of them I fucking would 😭#max the malamute 🖤#best boy in the world he was such a good dog#my cousins family gave me him as a puppy#the torties were named Romeo and Juliet (even tho they were both boys 🤣)#(yeah boy torties are from the same litter! idk what happened! 🤣)#Garfield was the orange cat (and mama to the torties)#best girl in the world so sweet. she was almost completely deaf and blind#German shepherd was buddy#sweet playful boy 🖤#I didn’t get to know him very well because he (all my pets did) lived with my dad and at that point I stopped going to his house a lot#bear was the rottie#sweet boy he died really tragically my dad loved animals but was fucking stupid sometimes#and the black puppy… also died really tragically. never even lived long enough to get a name.#some of these might be pushing into 00-4 maybe#the ones of buddy are probably from then because I’m pretty sure we got him while I was in middle school#I drafted this post a few months ago and honestly doing this + writing about them really did help me process my feelings towards them#so now I’m ready to share :)#I just love the idea of seeing the world through a child’s eyes#this is what little me thought was important! lol

Life has been throwing curveballs, and my sweet baby rottie has been sick since early this morning and it's got me and my mother very worried. We have taken her to the vet and got meds so we're hoping for the best but she's not herself and it's so sad to see her in pain. If you can please keep her in your thoughts it would be most appreciated. I love her so much 🥺😭💕

#ive lost like all fear of dogs at this point. i realized that earlier today when a massive rottie started a fight with my boy#and my first instinct on seeing flying teeth was to sprint towards them and shove my body in between#its very possible it was also just all self preservation leaving my body because i am absolutely going to protect my pup#i would probably fight a bear for him there is no question that i would forcibly shove another dog off with my forearm#but fuck. despite the fact that i /know/ better sometimes i have a real real bad fatigue week and i use dog parks. i have like.#a selective list of ones that i will go to categorized by 'least likely to become a boxing ring'. tons of space. multiple separate areas.#i go only at off times when its not busy! i watch dog body language and keep an eye on him at all times.#ill rotate areas if i spot a potential problem. i have him under verbal control and wouldnt even be there if i didnt. but! like!#despite all that. just fucking anyone can go there. Definitely the type to randomly just cling onto you. Like you will just be gaming and he'll plop on your lap and hug you like a giant teddy bear. It'll be random so you have no idea when it's gonna happen.
Omg when you two are cuddling, he loves to hold you tight like a teddy bear too. No matter what position, he will be clingly. And everytime he's with you, he will just be smiling ear to ear.
He loves to hold your hand and have a arm around your waist in public. If physical contact isn't being made, he will have the biggest pout and frown on. He loves you so much it's not even a joke.
Happy chaos is very much protective when it comes to others. Even if it's your own parents. He'll just be like "hey, 5 feet from my partner and we won't have a problem".
I feel like he isn't much of a baker but if you encourage him to do some baking, he'll do it if it's with you. Of course it might taste a little odd but happy chaos doesn't mind the taste.
Definitely a sucker to watch shows and movies with you in his lap as you both eat popcorn. He just loves it. He gets to watch something that makes you and him entertained and you're together!
He also loves taking you on car rides. It's not a full day until you both have a relaxing car ride after a wild day full of antics. Definitely also the type to hold your hand and occasionally kiss your knuckles.
I feel like you help him feel grounded and not losing his mind every other day, and he appreciates you for that and tells you alot how thankful he is for you and how you mean the world to him.

The Artful Dodger has the vibes of an episodic 20+ ep show despite fitting the serialized 8 ep streaming model: an analysis
I think one of the things I love so much about The Artful Dodger is that it feels so much like the old 20+ ep format of shows. And I’ve been trying to place why, and I think I’ve pinned it down to a few things. Also this is going to be a long post so bear with me.
Each episode has a beginning middle and end and they connect to each other but also there isn’t really a super strong overarching conflict across all 8 episodes.
Instead, there’s multiple mini conflicts that connect to each other but are also each their own contained plot. Episode 1 and 2 deal with the issue of Jack’s gambling debt and that’s a conflict that we see the full resolution of. But that plot line introduces the issue of the stolen money and Darius which is the focus of episodes 3 and 4 and something we again see the full resolution of. The beginning of episode 5 is part of the aftermath of Jack and Belle’s argument in episode 4. Episode 6 connects through episode 5 a number of ways but especially through Jack and Belle’s romance. And episodes 7 and 8 focus both on a new plot line, Oliver Twist, as well as established ones, Gaines and Jack and Belle’s romance.
The main plot line is made up of multiple plot points that each have a conclusion while still connecting to each other and the overarching story. But also, there isn’t a super strong overarching conflict and I don’t mean that there isn’t a main plot, but rather than centering the main plot line on a single conflict like Jack’s gambling debt, they instead keep it centered around a single character, Captain Gaines and the many different issues that he causes for our main characters. It’s genius because allows for there to be different central conflicts to be dealt with in different episodes while still feeling cohesive.
There’s also multiple subplots that occur and cross over into other episodes which provide variety so we’re not even stuck on the same conflict within a single episode and instead get to cut between different things. But since these subplots carry over, they still weave seamlessly into the main plot points and overarching story. Obviously a big one is the romance which is a subplot turned main plot. But also each episode generally has a surgery subplot happening as well. And we have the continued conflict of Belle’s condition that’s given to the audience in bits and pieces but isn’t explicitly revealed until we find out with Jack. Rather than relying on a single main conflict to connect the episodes they allow for the main conflict of some episodes to be resolved then and there and instead use the sub plots to solidify a stronger connection. It’s satisfying and so incredibly genius.
Another big reason I think the show feels episodic is that there’s a distinct feeling of the passage of time between some episodes. Part of this is through things that come back up like Charlie making a reappearance, Rotty having a scar, but also just things in the dialogue and way the characters act. The whole show in general has great control over the passage of time in the sense that it’s very clear when time is supposed to have passed and when it hasn’t. Episode 8 clearly happens right after episode 7, but then between episodes 4 and 5 with Jack and Belle fighting and then Jack deciding to do a heist you get the sense there’s been a couple days between the two events.
I also feel like the repeated sets aid in this feeling but am not quite sure how to articulate why.
Anyways TL;DR one of the things I love about The Artful Dodger is that despite fitting the standard 8 episodes an hour long each streaming format, it actually has a more episodic feel reminiscent of the days of 20+ ep seasons that’s very satisfying and genius for a variety of reasons.

This is definitely WAY shorter than part one, but I can promise you, there will 100% be a part three :) It should be up within a week or so.

You hadn’t expected Brekker's team to welcome so quickly. Jesper had quickly taken a liking to you, and Inej.. Well she didn’t hate you. Kaz mentioned a few others, including a heartrender, and a demolitions expert that he’d hired who had yet to show up. Nina Zenik, was the name of the heartrender. As for the demolition expert’s name, that was unknown.
“So, how exactly are we going to successfully break into the ice court?” you asked Jesper. “I’m not entirely sure myself.
, but when he says he has a plan, it usually works because he has at least 6 other backup plans that come along with the first plan.” You raised your eyebrows. “Six?” You asked. Jesper nodded. “It’s not entirely unbelievable if you’ve known him long enough.” You hummed in agreement, sipping your tea.
“How many outrageous plans has he pulled off in the past?” You asked. “Enough.” Both you and Jesper turned around to see Kaz standing at the bottom of the stairs.
“Wylan and Nina will be here soon enough, then we’ll figure it out.” He said. “Wylan is?” Jesper asked. Kaz adjusted his gloves before he responded, “Our demolitions man.”
As Kaz had said, both Nina and Wylan arrived within the hour. Kaz had the club emptied save for a few he most trusted, Rotty and Muzzen being amongst them. Wylan and Jesper sat next to each other and Inej stood in the shadows. Nina stood next to you with Kaz explaining how this heist would go down.
“First, we break into Hellgate to retrieve the Fjerdan. We’ll pose as spectators to see the fights, and have Nina tailor him to look like him.”
“How do you propose we do that?” Wylan asked. “Glad you asked. That’s where you come in, Jesper. You and Wylan will let the wild animals from the arena out. While the guards and spectators are distracted, we’ll escape beneath the arena and we’ll then head to the docks. From there, We’ll head to the Ice Court.”
“I’m assuming that’s not all of it.” You said. Brekker shook his head. “That’s just the first half of it. Wylan, we’ll need you to draw a map of the Ice Court while we’re on the ship to Fjerda. Matthias can then help us form the rest of the plan, and we’ll go from there.”
Everybody around the table nodded. “Then what are we waiting for?” You asked. “Let’s do this.”

Kaz doesn’t quite remember the liminal space between waking up in recovery and being moved to a room. He has some vague recollections of someone cheerfully telling him how well he did, being bumped and jostled, a nightmare of hands on his bare skin and the rising waters, then a blissful void.
He’s awake now, half reclined in an uncomfortable hospital bed, and far more lucid than he particularly wants to be. The room is dimly lit, dark outside the shaded windows, with a light coming from the door and a dim bulb shining on a white board with Kaz’s name and the names of the nurses. A clock above is just obscured enough in shadow that he can’t quite read the numbers and with his right leg bandaged, braced, and propped up on a foam block, he can’t move any closer.
Someone has thoughtfully left his phone on the tray table and after fumbling for the button past the IV tubing tethering him to the bed, he finds it’s just past midnight.
It’s just past midnight and he hurts.
Kaz is no stranger to pain. He’s been navigating the world with a broken, never quite healed right leg since he was fourteen. He spent his teenage years getting into fights and coming out the other side of them with injuries that might have killed someone else. He’s been compensating for his broken leg for so long and in ways that made his doctor visibly blanch when she heard about it, and he’s done more damage to himself in that compensation than anyone could reasonably countenance.
He understands pain. He knows it and he gets by with it, and he uses it to leverage other people, either the fear or the reality of it.
His doctor had said about the surgery and the subsequent recovery, “you’ll feel worse before you feel better, but you will feel better.”
He had been ready for pain, especially if it meant that he would have another decade or more of walking before his leg couldn’t bear weight at all.
What he wasn’t ready for was the feeling of utter helplessness that comes with being in a hospital. No matter that this was his choice, that he had thought through the possibilities, the worst cases, everything that could possibly go wrong; his plans B, C, and D. He had let his brain spin out every possible scenario and decided at the end that this is the right choice.
And the continuing right choice is to stay exactly where he is and let his fucking leg heal.
What a fucking joke.
He’s committed to this course of action right until he hears the window open from the outside. In a moment of wild panic, he thinks of everyone who could possibly have found out that he was here, helpless, unable to defend himself, even as he is trying to figure out how to disentangle himself from the leads and tubes and wires, and where is his damn cane? Who did Jesper tell? Did someone hack his email? Did Rotty sell him out?
The window shade rustles and from behind it, someone drops soundlessly to the floor. The absence of sound soothes Kaz’s alarm the way nothing else could and his heart drops back into his chest where it belongs.
“Inej.”
“Why didn’t you tell me you were having surgery?”

Here are some things you should know about Cuddlebear: He loves cuddles, playing with his doggy friends, playing fetch, and chewing on his toys!
Cuddlebear is a fun, bouncy, and very loving boy! His favorite activities include snuggling on the couch with his person, keeping himself busy with his toys, and giving and receiving attention.
When he’s not cuddling, Cuddlebear is quite the explorer. On walks, he loves to climb up every stoop and sit on the top step like he owns the place. He takes in all the sniffs and is curious about the new scenery around him. Cuddlebear will frequently stop on his walk just to give you some kisses or lean into you for pets. He gets excited with puppy playful hops when people pass by- he appreciates the opportunity to say hello and get some love from everyone.
In his foster home, Cuddlebear is working on potty training and learning how to be the best pup for his family. He is able to be crated, though he may charge a fee of some of your finest meats & cheeses. Once in the crate, he settles quickly and takes the opportunity for a snooze. He is a good puppy & sleeps through the night as well.
Cuddlebear is working on perfecting his manners as he can be unaware of his size at times & insists he is a small lap dog. He is still working on mouthing and jumping up, but has started showing improvement and responds well to correction.
Cuddle Bear is available immediately for rescue pick-up.

anon I kiss you on the forehead like the godfather please bear in mind this was all bits me and my friend were doing anyway the lore is they were all in an opera troupe with mag and marni, they opened for the blues brothers in chicago and had a contract with god that among other things stipulated they never sleep with an italian. somehow they all met rotti and he just kind of started wifing one after the other but all of them also left him for nathan plus because they broke the contract they were now cursed and died horribly. red one is luigi's mum and was killed by him, blue one is amber's mum and a class traitor and was repo'd, ourple one is pavi's mum and was killed by a parasite because me and my friend had just watched venom when we made all this up. I don't think anyone would know they were cursed especially not the troupe since they kept marrying rotti but them being cursed by god is really important to the lore peace and love <3

Okay, but I was watching the Making of PJO special, and one guy called it "Percy Jackson season one" and now I'm almost certain they're going to adapt the other books.
Also I can't not mention the five seconds of Star Wars props in the background. I see you, Grogu, Chewbacca, and Boba. Don't think I don't.
Walker, Aryan, and Leah really do have amazing chemistry though. And Walker's chemistry with Charlie.
They really put so much into this series, and it shows. There's something about watching the BTS, watching it happen that makes it feel so nostalgic both toward my childhood and the books themselves.
"She can really scream." 😂 Walker is Percy Jackson.
This is the best thing about watching BTS footage. Watching the cast bond, watching them become a family, watching them teach each other and lift them up to their full potential. I miss when BTS releases used to be more common. I'm very glad that this show got theirs released.
Walker is actually very inspirational though. He's so talented, and so invested in his work- I can only imagine how his career will develop. He deserves the attention he's getting.
I will never not say how much I love that Cerberus is a Rottweiler. All the the creatures are amazing in this show, but as someone who's owned a Rottie-Lab mix, there's something so personal about Cerberus.
Something, something, the producers hiring teachers to continue Aryan, Walker, and Leah's schooling while they create this. And the way they remain so positive throughout juggling both.
Bear McCreary is underrated.
I knew the casino gave me mall vibes. Good use of something that was never completed, though, and I like that it's not being wasted.
There's also something really awesome about the younger cast interviewing the actors of the Gods.
Coming back to my first note, Walker just said "next season." They are totally doing all the books, right? Right?? 🥺
Also, Walker's dad deserves a shout-out for being so supportive. It's so wholesome.
