The two sims I had that I loved the most of them all were Oliver and Bruno Maynard-Moon. They started out as a challenge for myself to see how long I could keep a werewolf and vampire living together while pretending to be human (not doing anything obviously spooky in from of the other basically) and turned into an epic romance I’ll never be over them
#so oliver maynard was a vampire and bruno moon was a werewolf#my story was Bruno was recently turned and wanted to move out of moonwood mill so became roommates with a lonely vampire#(I had to cheat to get them to not hate each other on sight cries)#eventually the gig was up when Bruno transformed right in the hallway so#they started working on their cures together and became a lil romantic#Oliver started working on his writing and Bruno started off in the gardening career#(he career hopped a lot poor Bruno)#they became romantic and agreed they wouldn’t marry until they were both cured and turned back human#Oliver cured himself first and Bruno was so happy for him he proposed right there#I made them cloudgaze together then bcus it was a sunny day I near cried I tell u#then Bruno got himself cured and the wedding was on!#they had accumulated some friends across all this as well#they were married on a winter afternoon and it was v cute#then they had a lil honeymoon in sulani cute vibes#Oliver was actually a really successful author at this point he was like 3 star celebrity?#idk#then they moved to a house on the windenburg island for some more space#bcus they wanted to adopt#they adopted a girl named brenda who had some issues from foster care but they loved her#she was such a lil smartie <3#oliver actually passed when she was a teen which made me Sad#bcus I made him slightly older when he cured himself hcus like hey he’s a vampire that’s how it Works#bruno lived a while longer bcus he had the active trait#he and brenda were best friends for the rest of his life#he was there to move her in with her high school bf#he was there for her when they broke up#and he died the day after he learned she was engaged to her new bf#now brenda and her husband afu have two kids: oliver and nalani#she’s a freelance artist and he’s a lawyer#rip Oliver and Bruno I cri every tim /srs

Sometimes I remember that Ashfur and Ferncloud are siblings and how different they are in spite of that, and I wonder:

Meanwhile Ashfur spent his entire life and afterlife chasing after Squirrelflight, no matter the fact that she wasn't interested him, no matter the fact that she consistently chose Brambleclaw over him, no matter the fact that she had Brambleclaw's children (including both her adopted and biological litters), no matter the fact that Ashfur literally tries to kill and humiliate her family to force her to be with him and feel pain for rejecting him

you joke but thats LITERALLY his entire thought process at first. he's so isolated and arrogant that he couldnt possibly comprehend the idea that luz wouldnt see him as her father despite the fact he literally told hunter he was going to be her older brother and never once encouraged hunter to see him as anything but an uncle.
i attribute this to the fact that philip is an orphan who only ever knew his blood brother as his only caretaker, so he sorta took having a brother for granted and didn't realize that was something you could want rather than something that just Is.
(also caleb was the only person philip ever truly knew + loved and even well into his 300s he never once picked up a child psychology book and realized that Perhaps His Worldview Was Skewed Because Of That.)
he literally like. could not comprehend the idea that you could even choose your own family outside of like. being adopted by someone. thats the other thing with him being so annoyingly christian in this AU, he was taught that your blood family (esp yr parents) is always the most important thing in your life & you should always be grateful to them no matter what.
(this is another factor into why he keeps making grimwalkers. in his own twisted viewpoint, it's him giving caleb another chance. and another. and another-- at least in this specific characterization of him.)
philip thought that him adopting luz would mean she would immediately be eternally grateful to him and call him father and the whole nine yards. but he forget to actually express that expectation until it was too late (aka until he heard her call him uncle for the first time)
honestly, hes not MAD about it. he's just sorta :( about it bcus hes not actually insane and can still logically think like "she did say she had just lost her real father to an illness its perfectly reasonable for her to not want to replace him" (he doesnt think it outloud but he also enjoys living thru her vicariously
but also later on as she gets older it gets to a point where he's like "ok its been years now why isnt she trying to replace him yet" bcus he thinks its a normal + healthy part of the grieving process to replace the person you lost (figuratively or, in his case, Literally)

Wanted to share a quick OC fact 'fore I dip for the day, or next 4-5 hours idk-
Adelaide's parents divorced when she was young so she was put into foster care bcus neither of them were mentally equipped enough to care for her, and her grandfather was too old to care for her
She did have some families adopt her before being brought back, but she does luckily get adopted by Vargas
Idk I just like that since he's based off of Gaston and she's Belle, they have a father-daughter relationship

less of an ask but more of a ramble!
I was recently reading through the OotA module (a great read for Underdark content) and I find it so charming that out of all the drow patrol encounters, the one with Bregan D'aerthe mercenaries is the friendliest.
They're outright described as 'gregarious and jovial'! Also after their encounter, they toss the party a platinum coin (granted the PCs are amiable towards the drow).
I like to think Jarlaxle's more friendly disposition is rubbing off on his mercenaries. Granted it could be something he expects of them, but I do enjoy the idea of the former.
I haven't read far into the Drizzt series myself (most of my knowledge of FR comes from flipping through modules and their assortment of games). Still, it's incredibly charming that Jarlaxle is this beam of sunlight in the underdark, in his own way.
(also, apparently the undercommon word for 'light' is an expletive used by drow)

didnt know about that last point!! had a drow pc who adopted a human baby and named it Ta'ecelle (drow for sunlight) or sunny in common

"What would it take for a single woman to be able to foster?" Jane asked. Her heart sank. A spare bedroom. She didn't have one.
But she knew someone who did.

"I expect you to clean up after yourself. I work long hours, so Angela will be here most of the time, and Jane will be able to look after you until she's cleared for work. And my sister, Cailin, has offered to help out as well. She's at BCU, she's said she can tutor you." Maura shook her head nervously. "I know you don't need looking after, you've been taking care of yourself for years, but there are certain legal obligations I need to fulfil. I expect your good grades to continue. I've asked Frankie, and he said the Switch is the least violent console, so there's one over there, but you'll need to get your homework done first."
"Thanks," Tasha said quietly, looking around in wonder. She'd had a shower before she left the hospital, but her backpack was full of her clothes - Jane had gotten them washed somehow - and her schoolbooks, and this house was - it was immense. She felt small and dirty in this big, tasteful house.
"If you need anything, just ask," Maura said. She sighed. "I was adopted, I know it's hard to ask. I'd rather treat you like a young adult than a charge in my care, if that's okay?" Maura licked her lips. "I'm not - I'm not good with people. But Jane - she doesn't have a spare room." Tasha's head whipped around.
"Wait, this isn't your - I mean it is your - Jane doesn't live here?"
"For now she does. But she has a condo West of here. Only the one bedroom, which is why I've done all your paperwork."
"I thought..." Tasha trailed off and shook her head.
"She was ready to be a parent," Maura said. "I was too," she added sadly. "You're not... you're not replacing the child she lost. She likes you for who you are, you know that, don't you? And I find you exceptionally intelligent and good company. I know Cailin's going to find you just as - and Angela, and Hope. I might not be everything you need as a foster parent, but my village is strong -"
"Its okay, Maura. All I needed was to not be in a group home."
"Is she here?" Tasha heard from the hall, then Jane rounded the corner, looking at Tasha with that soft look she'd given her when she'd found her - both times. She looked at Maura with that same look a moment later, and Tasha wondered again why Jane didn't live here. Commitment issues? Jane came forward and took Tasha's bag, slinging an arm over Tasha's shoulder and leading her to a room. Maura followed cautiously.
"I guessed your size and bought you some - similar style, I asked Cailin, she's 19 - you don't have to -" Tasha went to put her clothes away but the wardrobe was full. Clean, new clothes. Nothing fancy like Maura wore, and not Jane's style either. Things Tasha would have chosen for herself. Usually she cashed her social security and went down to the thrift shop. But she'd found herself looking at the kinda of things the other girls wore, wanting to fit in, to look like them. She nodded, holding back tears. "And if you need anything else..."
"My room's across the hall," Jane said. "Maura's is upstairs. Ma makes dinner, and she'll yell if you're not ready when it is. She doesn't mean anything by it." Jane shrugged, and Tasha laughed. Angela had visited her the moment she'd been allowed to. Jane and Maura were great, but they were just adults. Tasha didn't need mothering, but Angela needed to mother, and Tasha could take the heat off off Jane for a while.
"One last thing," Maura said, leading the way down the hall. She opened a door, stepping into a large room, door from ceiling to floor in built-in bookshelves. Leather-bound journals, atlases, gold-embossed spines.
"This is like Beauty and the Beast," Tasha breathed in wonder. "You even have the ladder."
"Welcome home," Maura said, putting a light hand on Tasha's shoulder. Jane's hand landed on the same shoulder, casually, and Tasha could feel the warmth when their hands met, could feel them smiling at each other over her head.
"C'mon, let's get some Mario Kart in before dinner," Jane said, squeezing Tasha's shoulder. Tasha smiled up at her. She'd not only be able to study here, she'd be able to relax. She'd not only be safe, but she'd be trusted. "I got to get you trained up before Frankie comes over so you can kick his ass for me," Jane chuckled. Tasha nodded dutifully. It seemed a steep price to pay, to have to learn video games, but she'd read the dexterity studies and she could live with that.

Facts:
If you think the cast hasn’t been forced to watch the entirety of the BCU (Barbie Cinematic Universe and as of 2023 currently sitting at 42 films 💅), you need to spend more time with Barbie.
Barbie and Mrs. Verner will never get along … at first. Barbie isn’t one to not have the first AND last words in a conversation. (Definitely not my way of saying the office scene with R would turn out any different but…. 👀 Mrs. Verner will know she’s making a mistake even if it means Barbie has to talk over her to get her point across.)
But I also like to think that they would swimming get along once they have a common interest (cough R cough) because Barbie sees Mrs. Verner as a respectable, powerful woman. Hopefully Mrs. Verner can also see that in Barbie.
💕RO’s:
💕B - They are so in tune with each other that they unknowingly copy the other’s movements. Literally the bestest of friends. Would have shared a bed with B because why wouldn’t you want a week long sleepover with your bestie as you explore your childhood town!
💕S - Once they are in a deeper relationship, Barbie and S would braid each other’s hair. Barbie also adopts adding a pink section of hair to match S’ cerulean. Mrs. Dorian would also have so many pictures of S and Barbie napping on the couch.
💕R - R once broke Barbie’s Barbie in a game of keep away in grade school, which made Barbie cry in front of R for the first time. R promptly had Mrs. Verner buy them a new one to give to Barbie. Barbie also had an Ken/Barbie doll that she forced R to play with (“Because you both have blonde hair and live in a cool, dream house!”) and eventually gave them before they left. I like to think that R still has that doll :).
💕J - Their matching necklace is actually two half’s of a butterfly that magnetically connects to make a whole butterfly. If there was an option to hug J though-out the story, you better bet your bottom dollar that Barbie would hug them through-out.

I was thinking about JJ’s speech about the unsub’s motivations to Hotch in 3x17 In Heat, the way she said it, and her reaction to the conversion camps in season 8. I kind of have a hc that her mom may have sent her to a conversion camp when she was young, maybe not a camp that was as bad as the one on the show but still enough to traumatise her and make it hard for her to express herself freely.

okay, oh my god? idk know how this has never crossed my mind; i, too, have a hc of her mother bein a homophobic cunt so idk how i didn't consider this idea especially cus i am obsessed w moments where she says things that u jus know if she reflected for 2secs more, she'd unlock some things about herself.
i feel like it would explain a lot about her. cus yk there are several little moments throughout out the show where she says something n it sounds like she's right there. it sounds like she's 🤏🏾 this close to opening that door about herself n then she just... doesn't. n then she moves on n keeps living her comphet life. it's almost like she's always in front of the door of self acceptance and she even might touch the doorknob sometimes, but, at the end of the day, she always opts out of opening that door. w the conversion camp therapy memory in the back of her mind, i think she only allows herself to be the strongest of "allies" (hence those slip up moments) bcus while she's too afraid n unpacking that for her would b too painful for her, she hates the idea of other queer people feeling and living in her constant state of fear n strive for being the patriarchal idea of "perfect" n "normal".
my comphet lesbian jj hc that i posted once was that she's not as unknowing about her sexuality. she was just basically in denial n rejecting it the whole time n when she got close to maybe fully unpacking, she met will decided to try one more time w guys, jus to b sure, only to end up pregnant. my hc was by the time she got pregnant, she knew emphatically that she was a lesbian but she made the practical choice n opted for traditional "normalcy". i feel like ur hc of her having been to a conversion camp as a kid fleshes that out a lil bit. w that tidbit, i feel like her pregnancy n that man gave her an excuse to not fully live in her truth. she took as a " well see ig they were right im not supposed to b w women" n once again decided not to unpack bcus she was afraid of facing what she's been thru.
i like this hc. i like it a lot.
it also ties into another version of jj that i have n am currently working on a fic for. it could work this that particular reiteration v well actually. she's honest w herself there but i can still easily see how that experience would shape even openly gnc lesbian jj's life n mindset n how she navigates her gender identity.

Okay, buckle up, this is a headspace I exist in A LOT, so prepare for a huge wall of text!! (And a lot of extra Zenitsu content, bcus i can't ever shut up about my son <3)
Alrighty, so, first thing's first, Giyuu and I are married! We never really had a dating period in mainline canon we just ended up married by the end of the series, but in modern AU (which I also exist in almost just as much if not more than mainline) we did have a dating period before marriage! So I'll tell you a bit about our modern AU!
I had already adopted our boy Zenitsu before I even met Giyuu, so going into meeting him he figured that out fairly quickly. Though there was a moment in the AU where (he's the gym teacher at Zenitsu's high school, while I was teaching English there before I started a different career) he was confused on our relation and if I was just a really nice teacher who cared about him, but when he was called in about his "unnatural hair color" BY Giyuu with request of parental attendance, he soon figured out that yes, that is Zenitsu's hair color and yes, I am totally his mom (that he definitely didn't have a crush on).
But that lead to us talking more, and he was really flustered about it since I was one of the only other teachers that liked to hang out with him, and I even would buy him some raisin bread every week because of my huge crush on him. Then all that lead to another and, well, here we are!! You wouldn't believe Zen's face when I first invited over Giyuu over to our house-- that boy looked like he had seen a ghost 😭😭
But now Giyuu has evolved into a father figure for him! And I'm hoping eventually they'll grow even closer since both of them mean the world to me and more. That's one thing I really appreciate about Giyuu, is his willingness and understanding that Zenitsu is vital to me, he's my baby boy!! (Not a baby but, he's baby to me 😭) He really committed himself to being a good influence and helping him, teaching him about life and going on those long ass grown-up stories that have some kind of moral of the story at the end, because he really thinks it'll help him! I love seeing them come home together after going shopping or something and discussing dinner plans, or they went to the arcade with his friends and brought me home something nice! I love to see them bond more than anything else ❤️❤️
Some things about Giyuu that I find absolutely adorable that he does for me would include:
His need to make sure I'm okay, just small things like grabbing an extra blanket when he can tell I'm cold and cuddling closer. Making dinner for me when I'm busy with working and bringing it to me. Also this really cute thing he does where he insists on having me try a first bite of everything in a big meal that he will personally feed to me (he's hard up on it being him, it's very cute ❤️😭😭) He loves introducing me to new foods he think I'd like because I'm so picky (due to the tisms), and food can go very wrong for me very quickly. It's a silent love language he likes to express, because he thinks he's not so good with his words. So those small, silent gestures mean the most to me because I know that's his way of expressing his devotion and undying love ❤️ Also his interest in my creative endeavors! He's always asking about it, and very willingly listening to all of it. He does love having long conversations, despite popular belief. It's all a matter of being comfortable, and I am his safe space!
Plus just sitting with him while we both do something by ourselves is very nice, just being close and content, safe and sound. Feeling safe is a big part of our relationship, we both have been through too much so providing that for each other is vital! He takes that very seriously, and will devote a lot of time in making me feel safe and well. He also takes my health very very seriously (because I tend not to OTL), so it's always taking me to doctors appointments, making me take breaks when working, and accommodating my disabilities. (Also reminding me to take my vitamins, because yes, he even goes to those lengths)
So there's some insight!! I still have a butt-ton more, but I thank you so so much for asking!! Always happy to talk about Giyuu!!
