I hope you're doing well! 💚

Welcome to TFS, and no worries about your questions. Seeing asks about the W and ??? would be confusing to a new reader. These are characters you'll meet in Book One, including within the demo of it. The W is the waiter/waitress who works at the Fernweh Diner, except there is much more to them. (They have a romance pathway that can be hard to trigger, but they are a hidden/mystery RO. If you would like tips for how best to pursue them, check out the guide: here.)

The ??? is more of a mystery, yet ??? is technically the first character encountered in the series. It refers to the bold/italicized text and it seems to orchestrate the MC's nightmares/taunt them throughout.

it's been forever since i had a cas bg that wasn't solid & i'm loving it!!! look how cute!!! and it fits val's vibe so well!!!

this is my fernweh saga mc valerie 💛 (she goes by val but i love that james always calls her valerie 😭) she's snarky, irreverent, impulsive, emotional, empathetic, and creative. in my vision, she's an art teacher but recently moved to a new city and was freelancing/substitute teaching while looking for a new position before returning to fernweh. val is artistic and retrocognitive, usually agrees with sofia, is besties with becca, and likes ruby a lot more as an adult.
