Femslash February: Batherine | Bonnie Bennett x Katherine Pierce (The Vampire Diaries)

Magic isn't just a candle flickering to life, or some fancy firework-like sparks. It isn't just an object moving on its own from one side of the room to the other, or a book suddenly flipping to the exact right page.

Magic is also a splitting migraine that starts at the base of the skull and then spreads like wildfire, seeping into every crevice and wrinkle of the brain. It's lethargy that deadens limbs and makes even the eyelids too heavy to lift, crushed under the weight of the world only a few hours ago.

It's hot. Literally - it burns as it travels through the veins, right down to the tips of the finger, emanating across every nerve and muscle until the entire body is consumed with the heat of something indescribable and unknowable. It's metallic, like the blood that drips down into the mouth.

But none of that is enough to stop the enchantment of something so bitter; so unpredictably and deliciously dangerous. Those drawn in by the flicker of light in the darkness accept the risk of getting lost in it, consumed momentarily by an irrepressible desire.

Bonnie knows she is on the verge of being lost as she stares back into the dark eyes peering up at her from behind her own arm, fangs lost in her soft flesh. The white-hot flames beneath her skin push and pulse until she is sure she is actually going to catch fire. Magic is oxygen, it is the thing that fills her lungs and is stolen from them almost immediately, and it is the indescribable sensation that ripples through her when Katherine's resolve breaks, becoming too lost in the moment to keep it up any longer. Her eyelids flicker and she laces their fingers together with a soft moan.

Maybe lost is what they both are. Lost to a world that lost interest in them. Maybe magic is finding each other when the world has long-since stopped looking.

i love when redditors use a throwaway account and then provide a a bunch of potentially identifying information anyway.

theyre like "throwaway because my friends are redditors and theyd kill me if they found this post. my friends "wenjamin" (24m) and "batherine" (22f) and i all work at a bespoke cheese shop owned by my stepdad, "jamuel" (41m) in a city on the west coast that ends in a vowel. "wenjamin" is 5'6" and bald and "batherine" has just graduated from a small liberal arts college with a degree in sports journalism. they both own bichon frises.

Basically, I have a Sims 4 legacy save where I've been playing a growing number of families and households. I was trying to keep track of them using what I named a snapshot, but my technique is lacking and I think it would be easier to chain individual posts by replying to myself and stretching the shit into the infinite, or at least linking to myself. What have you.

Wish me luck.

In case anyone is looking, the generations are lettered by first names (except half the first gen, whose surviving members I did rename in-game but couldn't rename in my head).

So first gen are either random names/letters or a weird modified version of their name that now starts with an A. (Cleo York became Aleo, Freddie became Arddie which became Arty, two of my more guilty ham fisted attempts.)

Maybe half of B has normal B names while the other half are forced adjustments (Banice is a good example).

C is mostly normal C names except Cirk.

All of Gen C were born to played Sims, I intend for things to stay that way as much as possible.

Last/family names are mixed from the parents, whose are mixed from their parents. Manning and Falcon became Falman, and when Falman and Blackburn got together, they became Falburn.

When two of the same names have babies (usually because sibling affairs with in-laws), I mix it up. Once, it was a lady who seduced a mother and son, so Beckman plus Scales became Scaleman and Beckscales. I tend to keep it at 1-5 syllables at most, generally 2, so it's not too messy, but I definitely start losing great grandparent names.

So, my original cast included (but was not limited to, because I can't remember them all) sorted by household

The Pancakes, renamed Abob and Aliza to keep my records

The Angels, a married couple and their teen daughter and child son.

Jana Puckett as a teen and the old lady I had live with her until she died. (I think her name was Jasmine) I renamed her Artemis, but I can't make the name stick in my head. She even looks like an Artemis. I think she's game generated, but I might've made her in CAS, 'cos I remember wanting to check out independent teens

Freddie Knapp, YA, an alien businessman (renamed Arty). He has a story all of his own, which I will tell in its own post. Game generated.

Jessie Boston and Kian Padgett, Game generated and I'm not sure if they were NPCs I stuck in the same house to mess with aliens or what.

Imani Falcon, Colleen Manning, I'm pretty sure I made Imani manually in the CAS.

Jennifer Overton and her son Maddox, game generated, and her roommate Lisa that I think I moved in and lost the last name for.

The Cullen house, game-generated, Old lady Anna (I think) and her teen son (I think) Valentino. A and B that way.

The Pike House, game-generated, Mother Abrielle (Gabrielle) and Father Rory (Aory hahahahaha), and two children, Shawn and Jordan. I did rename Jordan Bordan, but not Shawn for whatever reason.

The York House, game-generated, Mother Aleo (Cleo) York, teen daughter Batima and child Amahd renamed Bahmad. I know.

The Pace House, game-generated, Mother Atrina (Katrina) Pace, teen daughter and child son (there's actually at least two more that I can think of, too, the game gave me a lot of these) Befferson (Jefferson) was the boy and Bristina (Kristina) was the girl

The Scales House, game generated, mother Shiew (I think?), teen daughter Banice (I wanna say Janice) and child son Dawson, renamed Bawson.

The Holloway house, another Mom-Teen daughter-Child son set. Asana was the rename and her children are Barry and Bavagaline (Avangeline with B gen, bwahaha)

The Brice house, game-generated, a married couple on the rocks and their teen son. Dad was evil, Renamed Adine and Achad, presumably Nadine and Chad, Son is Balton, probably was Walton.

The Whitfields, Craig and Dana, with teen Katherin and son Stetson, renamed Batherin and Betson.

The Kit-Lewis-Davis bunch, everyone knows these ones, they're the ones you boot out of the big house on the hill. Child daughter's name became Bolivia, I didn't want to skip straight to gen C at the time.

The Heltons, two elders and a young adult Dillon and teen Fernanda game-generated, pretty sure they come with the house, too. Unfortunately, the game doesn't consider the siblings related because they lacked common parents. Blegh.

The Pfeiffers, a Single Mother and Teen Daughter And Child Son, who were my first to Gen C and therefore have not been played in AGES.

The Blackburn household, a married? couple of musicians.

The McFarland house, an elder and a teen boy he adopted, Called him Gen A but he ended up with someone Gen B so honorary gen B with technicalities for qualifications.

The Landgrabbs

The Bankses. I think these two come with the houses.

The Walters, a married couple I think I put in the game.

The Caruso house, a single mother and her teen son Judah. The game forgot his mother. I renamed him Budah.

The Harms house, an alien woman named Elsa, who I renamed Alsa. I think she was the only one in her house to start with. In fact, I think she was an NPC I knocked up with Freddie.

The Merrill household, I think game made? Mom and son, maybe teen or maybe child

Ava Tinsley the gym mentor is also the mother of at least one kid in town, because I liked her face.

Tiffani (Affani) Hobson also joined the bunch from the NPC townies and moved in with Holloway after she got pregnant and had a baby.

Sera Cerda is an NPC that didn't have babies and has entered Socialite status in town for the sake of it.

Not the Goths, as I didn't want to mess with that narrative.

(10/30/22) I'm pretty sure I'm 99.5% done with this. That .5 will be corrected over time. And probably actually reduced.

Bonnie Bennett Fic Recs

In regards to my last post, I thought it would be fruitful to make a post containing my favourite Bonnie Bennett fics I've come across throughout the years. I'm extremely grateful to all fanfiction authors out there and have so much admiration for your extremely selfless, talented and creative souls. As someone who is not the biggest fan of romance but a fiend for very- and I mean VERY- slow, slow-burn fics; my favourite fics are heavily narrative-focused with ships taking a back seat. I also plan to do review-posts for each as some of these have truly encapsulated and impacted me in such a profound way that I HAVE to let the authors know just how phenomenal they are. So without further ado and in no particular order- here are some of my favourite Bonnie Bennett fics of all time; multiple ships, finished & unfinished.

Spitfire by gabrieeella

Klaus seeks Bonnie out for a pleasant little chat concerning the whereabouts of his missing coffin. Friction ensues, however, when Mystic Falls' favorite witch is more of a spitfire than the Original bargained for. Slight language and roarin' UST.

The Second by aslightjump

In which the Gemini Coven does not hold a monopoly on Prison Worlds. Or, 'Everything in Bonnie Bennett's life has gone sideways thus far, so ending up in an Original's hell world probably shouldn't be the surprise it is.' Back in the real world, Kai Parker is learning life lessons he honestly would rather not. 'How to Feel Guilty' is at the top of that list.

Bonnie is finally settling into life as the bridge between the living and the dead. That is until Kol Mikaelson shows up and refuses to leave until she does him a favor: give a message to his family in New Orleans. Of course, that is just the beginning.
