this is how i designed my custom bald cypress trees!!

I grew up seeing these trees all over the place, so making them in Minecraft was very happy for me. They're some of my favorite trees and are great for many Southern-US ecosystems (both wet and dry)!

Another image from the Bald Cypress photoshoot (Taxodium distichium), Cat Island NWR, Louisiana, USA. Taken in December, when the swamp was dry, I was able to directly access the tree off the boardwalk. Although my intention before arriving was to enter the yoni-shaped center of the tree for the shot, I soon discovered the silhouette of a man just on the inside, who I believe is the spirit of a Native American or slave who found refuge in the feminine-shaped vessel. The entire swamp felt haunted, filled with a community of spirits, and I very carefully asked permission to be there and did not over-stay my welcome once dusk arrived. I was also given a warning from the guardians of this tree, a nest of biting ants, who made it known I was not to get too close.
