Chloé: "You should ask Queen Bee for some help."
Cat Noir: "We're doing okay for now, but I'll remember that. Thanks, Chloé."
Chloé: (shrugs it off and runs without complaining)
Me: "You did well, my child. I'm so proud of you."

In Scarlet Beetle, how will Kim and Max react to Rolland’s racism? I know it will not be pretty
How will Nathaniel react to Rolland’s racism also?
I have been waiting for this!
Nooroo: Nathaniel! Why’d you akumatize him? He seems awful!
Nathaniel: It’s quite simple, Nooroo. I want Scarlet Beetle and Ikati Black to kick his racist old ass.
Nooroo: Ooh… Valid
Bakerix: *Says something racist*
Scarlet Beetle: …
Ikati Black: …
Parisians: …
Monarch: …
Scarlet Beetle: Did this old-as-dirt motherfucker just call me-
Ikati Black: Okay, fuck his age. I’m gonna put this bitch in the ground.
Mendeleiv’s class annoying Bakerix just by being themselves
Simon: I’m an Irish Catholic demiboy dating a Cuban female-presenting nonbinary bodybuilder who can bench press me while I am constantly on my phone!
Marc: I’m a gay as fuck teenager boy with the looks models kill for! Also, I wear makeup!
Ismael: And it is I! A transgender Pakistani boy in a platonic relationship with my friend who is a Lesbian!
Reshma: But get this! I am Demiromantic! And here to explain is our gender-nonconforming friend who is an actor!
Jean: Today’s song is about the AroAce spectrum while my good friend Cosette annoys you with facts about the first black President of the United States! Well~
Cosette: *Random Obama facts*
After Bakerix calls Aya and a few of her customers a degrading name (Because he a fucking racist. Let’s all say it), Monarch appears in his hologram form and revokes the Akuma right in front of them all
Rolland: Who do you think you are?!
Monarch: … I'm a Jewish whore, currently enjoying premarital sex with my atheist Latinx boyfriend who interns at a Planned Parenthood where the dress codes requires men to wear dresses and they give hormones to disabled homeless trans veterans for free. So, hail Satan, and have a lovely afternoon, sir.

I just finished season 4 and unlike with the others I didnt have a whole lot to say as a was watching, mainly because I was actually enjoying myself and thought the season was mostly really good ? absolutely wild. Nevertheless I have some thoughts
I LOVE Alya and Marinette working together, its a delight. When I talk about "man can you imagine if MLB did like a magical girl show and focused on female friendships instead of catfighting" THIS is what Im talking about!! And Idgaf about how this affects the Love Square at this point, this is all Ive wanted! Also, I feel like Alya and Nino knowing each others identities cheapens the Love Square conflict more than anything but I cant fully articulate why so I'll just leave it at that
The Love Square is in a very strange place where, when the identity reveal finally does happen, its simultaneously going to feel like its too little too late (a la the destiel confession bc this fucking show is just straight queerbaiting) and rushed because like. what kind of development is there between these two. They barely focused on romance this season (which is definitely part of why I think its better lol) but I dont mean that in the sense that we had less catfights and Marinette making a fool of herself for no reason, I mean that in the sense that it barely felt like they interacted at all, atleast to me so thats kinda odd
In the past Ive complained about how the civillian plotline usually feels very disconnected from the superhero/akuma plotline and I think theyve done a much better job, my favorite episode of the season is probably Qilin both for tying the akuma into the civillian plot and for having a somewhat unique conflict resolution. In general, I liked that we had people rejecting akumas as well as preventative measures in form of the charms, although I do think it sucks that a few episodes afterwards Shadowmoth just figures out a way to circumvent them and then its back to business as usual. I feel like a better workaround would be that the charms can only protect you from one akumatization each, so like, the charm Ladybug gave her grandfather in Simpleman can only protect him from becoming Simpleman again, but if he turns into Bakerix, she needs to give him a different charm. But I do find the charms cute
The new heroes all suck tbh, the only design I liked was Purple Tigress and Pigella came close to looking kinda good but then they made it this intensely unflattering shade of pink, which I find impressive because Rose is already wearing an completely different intensely unflattering shade of pink in her civillian form. One thing that I appreciated about whatever Mylenes superhero form is called, Pigella and Purple Tigress is that they had more justifiable reasons for Ladybug to pick them than most of the heroes in the last season, who were mostly just picked because They Were There ig. And then Penealteam rolled around and we were back to doing exactls that kind of bullshit. great.
Also, Ive already talked about this in a seperate post, but if they absolutely insisted on looking for a replacement for the Bee, it shouldve been Sabrina and they shouldntve invented a whole new character for it
Adrien got a little more focus this season and we actually got some insight into his character when hes not either The Object Of Marinettes Idolization or Ladybugs Punny Sidekick Thats Slowly Becoming Obsolete which I enjoyed because he has a lot of potential from a dramatic standpoint what with being Hawkmoths son and all, but hes usually so bland that I dont really care too much so this was pretty nice. And it only took us 4 seasons for him to get some focus, yknow, the other superhero in the title? Well better late than never I guess
Speaking of Adrien, Ive made quite a few posts where I said that this season would be ruined for me the second the Sentiadrien reveal happens but it never did, we're getting that in season 5 and I am not looking forward it especially considering the small taste Ive already gotten of it with Adrien being very obviously controlled by that ring. Like, I'll probably talk about it in more detail when it gets fleshed out in the show but for now I'll just say it doesnt make the stakes higher like the writers seem to think, it make the story wayyyy less interesting and it feels like its supposed to be an explanation for Adriens behaviour towards his father when we absolutely do not need one beyond "hes being abused"
I know I said that I thought this season was really good and now Im just just complaining mostly like I always do but idk, Im not as good at formulating my positive thoughts as my negative ones. The last thing I'll say is that I loved Scarabella and I loved her design and I loved the whole episode she was in, as well as the entirety of Sentibubbler, Alya really served this season
Thats it, thanks for reading :D

MLB - Season 3 - Episodes 2 and 3
Animaestro
Introducing, Astruc's self-insert.
Marinette is being very normal about Adrien. Again.
Chloé and Marinette bonding over petty shit would be the funniest thing ever. Unfortunately, the creators decided that Chloé can't get her life together, even though she's a 14yo who has had precisely 0 good rolemodels up until recently.
Gabe... Gabe... you're in public.
Bakerix
Ah, yes, Marinette's grandfather, who definitelly stopped talking to his son over bread and not because of racism. The things everyone's dancing around is racism.
Even the mice are judging him.
"Looks like Ladybug is unveiling a new method of air transport." Yeah, it's called YEET.

Are that any MLB characters that WON'T appear in any way in your AU? (You mentioned Marinette is not in Paris, does that mean she'll not even appear? Or will she switch places with zoe/Have went do NY because of the fashion career Audrey has offered her?)
Also, You mentioned something about keeping the specials. Are you gonna keep all of them? Are you including all the special characters? And most importantly, are you keeping the Prodigious and the heroes of NY or are you changing that?
And will you only use the main miracle box, or will you somehow plan/write other boxes as well (like the NY one)?
There are some I wish I didn't put in, like Andre (Glaciator) or Marinette's grandfather (Bakerix), and they might appear, but some of them wouldn't be very relevant, I think they'd still have to appear even minimally. Oh, the guy of Action, he definitly will not appear. About Marinette, she'll appear, but not at the beginning of the comic, since she went to Shanghai, the most I can say is that apart from being nothing to do with fashion, it was more like therapy than a hobby, apart from her meeting Fei. Oh, and Zoé is in Paris, sort of a "supervisor" for Chloé. And about the part of me saying that Derision is canonical, I'm only referring to the flashback part, because, even if the characters are 2 years older, I'm considering the beginning of the origins as the beginning of the comic, so what happened to Marinette in this ep, that originally she would have been 12 years old, happened with her being 14/15 years old (I'm sorry for leaving this information a bit ambiguous).
Regarding the specials, I was referring to the specials I created "chaotic weekend" and "worst choices" (again sorry for leaving it ambiguous), I can't say much about them, as for the official specials, I can even fit them into the story, really, it would work very well for the development of some characters, thanks for the idea! If I were to put it in, the only one I wouldn't put in would be the one in Paris/the reverse, because considering the powers of miraculous, at least in this universe, it wouldn't be possible to see the villainous holders. About the prodigious, I can see it happening, of course with a big change in the story, and a bit of how it works, as well as the change in appearance, not to mention that Kwami guardian, I would love to use, but that will be a bit later for me to define these new specials. No kidding, but I hate the way they did the New York special, everyone is a hero? No secret identity? With powers? It's nice that they established the idea that there are other jewels, and it's nice that they showed that there aren't just miraculous, like in the case of prodigious, but now, you can just born with powers, that's something that really bothers me, most of them have powers, I'll see what I can do about it, but depending, I'll create new jewels or miraculous to justify it. Obs: if the Brazil special comes out and I like it, maybe I'll put in.
My initial idea is only for the main box, which in the story is just a cluster of "domains", being separated into Yin-Yang, Elementals and Zodiac. Well… about other boxes and miraculous, it would depend a lot, as I said, the case of NY, maybe, outside of that, I doubt it very much, but maybe, who knows.

Quick Thoughts on Silencer, Bakerix, and Onii-Chan
Thoughts under the cut because spoilers abound :) And I’m sorry if they don’t seem to make much sense? I’m taking a study break so my brain is meh (yay finals).
So... what a mix.
I’ve rewatched Silencer and saw Bakerix and Onii-Chan for the first time tonight. And I have many thoughts, particularly in tune with how the fandom is treating new episodes.
I apologize if some of these opinions are not in the majority, but we’ll get to those when we do. We’ll go in the order I saw them and (I think) how they were released.
Silencer
I really really really really loved this episode. I don’t know why, but it seemed written kinda well for once? The Akumatization of Luka (which I’d always dreaded being something contrived) felt warranted, which was something I felt hadn’t happened in a while. Also, Lukanette is cute. I’m a hardcore Love Square shipper, but man is legitimate Lukanette refreshing to see.
Also, “LuCKy ChARm, lUCkY cHaRM, LUCKy CHarm, LUckY cHarM” is forever my favorite Chat Noir moment.
Bakerix
This was obviously meant to be one of the more light-hearted episodes, and I think it shows. It’s goofier and over-the-top (my sister said Marinette’s Grandpa lowkey sounded like current baby boomer mindset and I swear I died laughing, I love her). This is where I felt the Akuma was a little weak - not in power, but in reason. Like... I’m sorry, but bread??? Bread???? Like, I was surprised when Hawk Moth showed up like, “hmmmMMMM”. The Akuma didn’t have that big a resonance, but then again, I don’t think it was supposed to.
Bread. That is all.
Onii-Chan
I saw a lot more spoilers for this before I saw the episode. And, I gotta say, the fandom scared me a lot more than for what the episode delivered.
Lila was still a piece of garbage. Like... a very serious piece of garbage. But we’ve seen this before. She lies, gets what she wants, etc. It (for once) kinda turned on her, but nothing new there. And it was nice to see Kagami again. I always enjoy her.
Except for when they write her kinda OOC.
Kagami loves Adrien - this has been established. Well good and all. But she is not obsessed with him, which I think is the angle they were going for. And that doesn’t make sense for who she is as a character. The archetype she’s mostly filling, at least (reserved and strong af female), is usually shown to be extremely OOC when having a “debilitating crush on male protagonist” cliche moment.
Also - having three (four if you count Chloe, but she seems to be strangely out of the picture a lot this season) recurring characters all fighting over “perfect boi” Agreste is exhausting and crowding to watch. They don’t have any room to develop, except for Marinette, who has been the show’s protagonist since the beginning and we’ve seen her develop. My thoughts are jumbled a bit at the moment, but considering that Adrien knows Lila is a liar, Kagami is basically his friend (and maybe part-time ‘it’d be nice’ crush), and only has eyes for Ladybug, there’s no real grip here, especially when he keeps finding reasons to go for Ladybug over the other girls.
I don’t know, romance-oriented plots rub me the wrong way. Also, I agree, Kagami deserves better than Adrien.
Finalities
Silencer - love me a good Lukanette
Bakerix - bread
Onii-Chan - too crowded and the must-protect-Adrien side of Marinette is getting really tiring
I have a little more for Onii-Chan but I might make a separate post for that. Or, most of my opinions on it are already reblogged in my blog and I might try to bounce back off of those.
But I really gotta get back to studying uwu

Miraculous Ladybug: Episode 'Bakerix'
Marinette never met her parential grandfather. When she askes why he stopped communicating with his family twenty years ago, all of Marinette's relatives're very embarrassed and answer he's 'old-fashioned' or 'full of traditions'. The show demonstrates that Rolland fell out with his son because Tom changed the traditional bread recipe by adding rice to it. But it's clear this's not about baking. In fact, twenty years ago, his French son married a Chinese woman. And the bread with rice is just a metaphor for their union, which Rolland disapproves of because of his 'traditional' (okay, racist) views.
It's funny Rolland actually married an Italian woman (he also doesn't like Italian culture), although hypocrisy is typical for all racists.

I noticed that mari have a LOT of her grandpa in her personality, we already see in bakerix at the end when chat wanted to eat the bread with jelly and both of them didn't liked that idea.
Well she is in fact very much like her grandparents, much more than her parents which is very funny to me.

Every day I wake up, and every day I learn that another Miraculous character’s name has been an ace attorney-esque pun this whole time. First Marc, then Rose, and the Couffaines, and now... I feel like an idiot.
I was just minding my own business and suddenly I think about how odd it is that Marinette’s grandpa spells his name with two Ls since it’s usually “Roland”. Then it hit me. Rolland Dupain. Rollin’ da pain. Rolling the bread. GOD DAMN IT. It’s so obvious and it only just clicked for me.
Fandom, can we please make a comprehensive glossary of the puns?

huge W today for the dupain-cheng family
god i love how her grandpa and marinette bonded together over cooking together that was so fucking adorable
this episode also really fits a good example of like how normal life is just casually interrupted by akumas like if u take out the whole middle section it straight up just flows casually as marinette cooking with her grandpa lmao

I am going to start this by acknowledging that I watched bakerix once and that was at least a year ago, but I was thinking about Marinette and her family and the relationships WITHIN her family and like... it feels so unlikely? For Gina and Roland to actually? Have been in love? Their core personality traits are so completely incompatible, and opposites attract is only true for the little things in love.
So I was thinking- what if they only stayed together/got married for the baby?
Twenty-something Roland, with vague notions about the importance of Tradition, starting to slowly take over his parent’s bakery, goes out for drinks with friends one night and get absolutely trashed. There, he meets twenty-something Gina, beautiful and alluring and the definition of free-spirited, and they go back to her house and make a Mistake. They swap numbers bc they both find the other attractive and they had fun, and why not?
And a month later Gina tells Roland that she’s pregnant and also that she’s sure it’s his. She asks for like, occasional visits. Some monetary support.
Roland panics and insists they get married because TRADITION, and Gina agrees because there’s always stigma against single mothers, no matter what, and also because she has no idea how she would support a child on her own. There’s some love there, and the potential for more, but at this point they’re really just casual friends who now have this HUGE RESPONSIBILITY.
It doesn’t really... go well. They both love Tom, and Tom loves playing with his mom and baking with his dad, but they keep teaching him lessons with opposite messages, and Gina always wants to be out and DOING something while Roland always wants to spend quality time at home, and Tom is a big old people-pleaser who struggles to choose between them and does his best to keep the time he spends with each if them equal.
And then Tom starts dating Sabine. (We can all acknowledge that the “rice flour” issue was a euphemism for racism, right? Right.)
And Roland keeps making all these seemingly-harmless little remarks that add up over time, and the tension in the house is rising fast, especially because Gina is always gone, and when she’s not gone she’s ALSO causing tension with Roland because she already loves Sabine and is perpetually ready to Throw.
So Tom just. Moves out one day, quietly, and goes to live with Sabine in their own little apartment and so he succeeds in removing himself from the Roland situation, but in the process he practically abandons GINA, too.
So now Baby is grown up and feuding with dad, so Gina says “screw it”, divorces Roland, and decides to travel the world on her motorcycle and get by with odd jobs, while Roland slowly devolves into Grumpy Grandpa, living in his bunker-house with his mice.
This is, of course, just speculation, but I feel like Tom being the reason Gina and Roland both got together and split apart is pretty plausible! Of course, feel free to chime in with your own opinion and let me know if I forgot some relationship-relevant detail that was mentioned in canon.
