what are everyone’s thoughts about marinette’s guardianship and potentially losing her memories in the future?
i know it’s been *checks watch* three years (?!? wtf) since master fu passed on the guardianship and lost his memories but i just re-watched Miracle Queen and i had a thought???? a theory, mayhaps???????
when master fu (transformed as jade turtle) relinquishes the miracle box, he names “ladybug” the new guardian
and i mean, yeah. he was standing directly in front of mayura and hawkmoth so it’s not like he could’ve been like, “HEY EVERYONE I’M NAMING MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG THE NEW GUARDIAN. SHE LIVES ABOVE THE BAKERY AND GOES TO FRANÇOISE DUPONT” like no…. obviously he couldn’t, so he named ladybug instead.
but ??? what if!! WHAT IF THAT’S THE LOOPHOLE I’M LOOKING FOR???? because i’ve been RUINED over the concept of marinette eventually losing her memories. it could happen during the battle with monarch, it could happen years and years later when she’s too preoccupied being a boss ass fashionista to be the guardian? she could choose to pass it on at any point and it would be HORRIBLY UPSETTING. and i’ve read seemingly every rendition of marinette losing her guardianship in fics and seen it captured so beautifully in fan-art… and it’s been heartbreaking! bittersweet! occasionally including happy endings, but…..???
WHAT IF BECAUSE “MARINETTE” WASN’T NAMED SHE WON’T FORGET WHEN SHE NEEDS TO PASS ON THE BOX???? “LADYBUG” BEING NAMED MIGHT HAVE SAVED HER MEMORIES??????
am i being crazy? maybe. but i cannot deal with the idea that we went through all this bullshit thus far just for a potential future where marinette forgets everything from age 13 onwards. idk. im choosing to live in a world where she’s never going to forget and this is the excuse i’m using to corroborate that
I’ve been working on a MariChat story for MONTHS!* Standard MariChat affair: Chat Noir has made a habit of coming over to Marinette’s room nearly nightly to hang out with her.
Chat Noir doesn’t know Marinette is Ladybug.
The story is set post-Season 3 (but deviates from the finale of S4).
Marinette is the Guardian.
She interacts with Tikki throughout the story.
I JUST NOW REMEMBERED THE OTHER KWAMIS!!!!
HOW THE HECKEN HAS MARINETTE BEEN HIDING THEM *NIGHTLY* FOR MONTHS/YEARS!? HOW HAVE THEY NOT LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG BY ACCIDENTALLY INTERACTING WITH CHAT NOIR!?
HOW HAS MARINETTE NOT INTERACTED WITH THEM THIS WHOLE STORY!? HOW DOES TALKING TO THEM HELP/HINDER EVERYTHING!? ARE THERE NOW NEW COMPLICATIONS TO ALL OF THE MARICHAT INTERACTIONS BECAUSE OF ROGUE-KWAMI SHENANIGANS!? HOW MUCH OF THIS PLOT DO I HAVE TO REWORK NOW!?
HELP! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
*Well, off-and-on for nearly 2 years, but consistently for the last 3 months or so...
I was watching 'Revelation' and I noticed something interesting
If you look closer at Adrien's lunch tray, you can see something very peculiar included in his meal choices
There's a whole large stack of camembert just sitting there on his tray, just out in the open for his friends to see, and being as how it has been inferred that Adrien doesn't like Camembert, this must be so confusing for them to watch.
Just imagine the bewildered and baffled faces of Marinette, Nino, and Alya as Adrien piles on the cheese onto his platter, only for him not to touch it and then surreptitiously toss it all into his backpack.
I just realized of all the Miraculous Marinette uses she never uses any of the time based Miraculous. She gives Sass first to Adrien and then to Luka and otherwise never uses him. Even during Miracle Queen she gives Sass to Chat Noir/Adrien again. In Evolution she gives the Rabbit Miraculous to Chat Noir/Adrien.
There are a lot of reasons for this that are more proper (i.e. showing trust in Chat Noir when he thinks he lost trust in Ladybug) but the funny one I haven't seen mentioned is the simplest.
Marinette is horrible at time management and bad at using time thus she does not want to use a time miraculous because she is bad enough with time as it is.
Had a revelation about Adrien’s adverse reaction when Marinette started acting like a Texan in psychomedian, and now I’m inconsolable. Nobody touch me, I think I require sedating
I just want the viewers that are into the show but not necessarily into soccer/football to know that there are No out players in the men’s premier league. There are no out players in Any of the top men’s leagues. That’s what Colin as a character is facing in that universe.
miraculous ladybug is fucking insane and i am living for it. how do i explain this show to anyone coherently. like the last couple episodes a 15 year old girl briefly became mayor of paris and sent her robots to send anyone who disagreed with her into a giant pit where theyd be mocked by a huge tv screen of her yelling at them 24/7, adrien and kagami are locked in basically solitary confinement with one item each so their parents can fuck around and be evil, marinette found out her boyfriend, his weird cousin, and her friend are sentimonsters (and also their very dark family history) from a bizarre minimalist stage play she hallucinated while alone sobbing in her prom dress in the art room of her school, marinette and adrien have their first kiss on the steps of a private jet while they are simultaneously being FORCED APART by adriens bodyguard and a random airport(?) worker. this moment has been built up since 2015. also lila apparently had a wig on this entire time hahahaha
I never come on here, but I wanted to discuss something since I've seen a couple of salt posts discussing Adrien's "sudden" shift of feelings towards Marinette in season 5, and I don't think some of you are understanding the whole lovesquare arc. Adrien has ALWAYS loved Marinette, ever since the umbrella scene. His feelings gradually grew more and more, but since he had already taken interest in Ladybug, he suppressed those feelings. This was the whole point of the "just a friend" phase. It was DENIAL, not genuine disinterest. If you go back and rewatch the show from the beginning, you'd notice that Adrien unconsciously behaves in a way that makes his crush on Marinette obvious. Ex:
Feeling uncomfortable kissing Chloé in season 1, but feeling perfectly comfortable with Marinette.
The constant heart eyes we got throughout the show.
He carries her lucky charm with him all the time, and he even made a gift especially for her
He called her his "everyday Ladybug", which we all know how much that means coming from him.
Effortlessly dancing romantically with her, TWICE.
Etc, etc. Keeping all that in mind, what happened in Puppeteer 2 isn't when he started DEVELOPING feelings, it's when he started REALIZING those feelings. He said it himself, the way he reacted to her going ahead and kissing him shocked him. Not to mention that in Chat Blanc, he straight up told her in his confession that he had always felt this way, he just didn't understand what he felt.
All their interactions thus far had Marinette somehow friendzone their encounters, so Adrien never had the chance to think about his own feelings, except in Weredad, but he was too preoccupied with his intense feelings for Ladybug to notice. And it's because of that, that after Marinette kissed him, he started noticing the similarities between her and Ladybug, causing his feelings to grow even further.
"You remind me of the girl I love."
Then, he started paying more attention to her, and noticed how she always cheers him up and makes him laugh, and is always there for him when he needs her.
Finally, we reach the season 4 finale, and he realizes that Marinette truly understands him for who he is, not the image he kept up, and it's THEN that he fully realizes there is something there, but he is too confused to know for sure, which is directly supported by his confession in Chat Blanc.
That is when Determination comes into play, and Adrien finally realizes what the butterflies in his stomach meant this entire time. This is also why that every time he discovers Marinette is Ladybug, he is instantly relieved and overwhelmed with joy, because that makes the two people he loves the most one person, and there is no more dilemma in his heart.
So this is it, a summary of Adrien's development of his feelings towards Marinette, which also explains why it's so sincere from his end. It's not sudden for sure. Yeah, it could have been written a lot better, but what do we expect from MLB writers anyway? If you've made it this far, thank you for reading, and let me know what you think.
