The fact that AWL is kind of the black sheep of the series, both in the original and remake, vexes me. Both because it's the one i grew up with and i'm annoyed that the other games don't take inspiration from it, but also:
there's zero fucking good guides for it.
Even the people who like farming games who make videos talked about it for like a month and then moved on to the next big thing. And a lot of those videos they DID make were poorly researched and/or just used data from the original, which were wrong.
I go to look up a list of the hybrid crops to see which ones grow in which season, and all of the videos are like "HOW TO UNLOCK HYBRID CROPS REAL NOT CLICKBAIT"
the best guides are like. compiled datasheets on various reddit posts, which are really annoying to sort through!!
and in contrast to something like stardew valley, which has very simplified mechanics:
(seeds need water once a day, quality is determined by farming level/RNG, crops need [x] amount of days to grow, you can automate basically every part of the farm except for day 1 of each season, etc)
(this isnt a criticism, it has those mechanics because its more focused on farm customization and seasonal events and the community center and whatnot)
AWL actually benefits way more from a guide because its much more obtuse:
Plant growth speed depends on how often you water them, a plant that grows "quickly" can grow in a minimum of 5 days or it can grow in a minimum of 7 days, if you don't water it consistently it might take up to 10 days. Some crops that grow in multiple seasons need to be planted on day 1 of the first season because they wont be ready until day 5 of the second. to get max quality you either need to use fertilizer twice a day (not always guaranteed, fuck you) or they need to be crossbred with a certain flower that only grows in winter one at a time (you only get 10 flowers per year), the only way to make the best crops and actually be able to afford all the upgrades is to crossbreed them yourself and balance selling them with how many you need to make into seeds for next year, there's no such thing as ancient fruit or a greenhouse that lets you print money from fruit that grows year round, etc. etc.
this isnt even getting into things like cow breeding or tool upgrades or raising your child or cooking (some recipes sell for more money! some recipes restore a lot of stamina! some recipes do neither!! figure it out yourself!!)
this isn't a complaint, i like it more because it is more in depth. but also. i would like to be able to look shit up sometimes. why is it that cooking 1 banorange makes banorange jam but 1 peach makes a plate of burnt charcoal.

I'm a bit late to this but ! 🍐
There's no time frame on these: I'm always happy to get asks 🤗 Link to the full fruit salad
🍐 Is there anything in canon that you absolutely hate and love to fix in fics? A wrong choice made, a f*-up in characterization, a misunderstanding never cleared up, a conversation never shown onscreen, etc…
Oh, I absolutely think fanfic is made for situations like this! There have been so many times when I've looked back on a series or a game and thought "Wait, what about x...?"
It's so much fun to fill in the blanks when there's an asset or a feature left over from a previous build of the game, or a scrapped storyline etc. Like the shed that you can never get into on your farm in AWL. Or where Murray sleeps at night? Or what Mukumuku's story is?
I think the biggest one for me was what happened to Cliff’s sister in FoMT? It always bothered me that he never got closure on that, which was why I wrote Photograph.
But I don't think there's anything I actively "hate" in Bokumono canon. I suppose the closest I've come is Rock's attitude, which I had a go at expanding on in On Rocky Ground.
Aside from that, I think the stuff that tends to frustrates me in the franchise is more gameplay related than lore, so it's a bit hard to write a fix-it fic for that 😅
Thank you for asking ❤️

Got back from Earthskills Rendezvous and boy oh boy do I have thoughts!
So, Earthskills Rendezvous is a non-profit organization that facilitates a large week-long event twice a year. This has been going on for decades. The event is centered on... well, earth skills. A smattering of survivalist skills like fire building, a lot of foraging and wild craft like bowl and spoon carving and tanning leathers, and also some workshops on the more... let's say spiritual side of things.
Basically it's a free-range adult summer camp.
It's a very cool event and it has a strong community with wonderful elders and experiences that you don’t normally get in your day to day life - unless you're one of the people within that group who have made it your lifestyle. More on that later.
Now, why am I posting about this on my heathen blog? What does this have to do with paganism? Well, see, I have opinions, and here they are.
I came to this event for a couple of reasons. The first was to learn how to make cool shit. Which I did! So much cool shit.
Tumblr media
(deerskin moccasins, wisteria vine coiled baskets, recycled leather sheath for an axe, an awl in-progress, and a set of crochet hooks made from roadkill deer bones)
Is there anywhere in my life I will wear deerskin moccasins? No. But they were fun to make. And the rest of it I do actually use frequently, so there’s that. The baskets I use for gathering up garden fruits!
The other reason I went was to try and connect with other pagans. That went... not as great.
To be honest, most of the spirituality expressed at this place was in the form of energy work, group therapy (there was a grief circle) and vague non-denominational new age. Which is fine! Not a problem with that.
Except... well. There’s a bit of a problem with it. And it may be just my perception, biases based on experiences! But just in case it’s not...
Yeah, this place was very, very insular. Welcoming! But uh... the perception was young, white, heterosexual. At least on the week I went. And a lot of the side conversations I either participated in or overheard were, to put it lightly, shallow.
Which is to say: a conversation about shadow work that completely divorces the concept from spirituality and does not acknowledge the spiritual traditions they come from... does not lend itself to meaningful work. As an example.
Being there for almost a week, I could not identify a single other pagan. I saw more earth-centered spirituality representation at my local ren faire. Which blows my mind, because if there’s anywhere I should be seeing fellow pagans, it should be at an event whose emphasis is on earth skills and connectivity.
But what I saw was a lot of well-meaning but cringey younger white kids who talked about their spiritual “experiences” in the same ways that the kid who studied abroad for a semester comes back and dreamily talks about how the experience changed his life. I’m sure that it did, but it’s tourist talk. It’s a shallow understanding of a broader world. They’re better for the experience, but they’ve idealized it and it’s now divorced from any real-world context. They talk about spirituality like they read about it in a book one time, took a “shamanic journey” for 8 weeks with someone they paid a couple thousand dollars to teach them, and now they don’t know what to do with it.
It’s annoying and frustrating, is what I’m trying to say.
It’s a very neo-liberal kind of thing, I think? For lack of a better way to describe it. Welcoming and accepting to the point of blandness. The event leadership makes efforts to attract POC to the event, but from what I observed it’s not been very successful so far. As far as queerness - I saw very little of that either. Overall it reminded me of a hippy commune vibe: plenty of naked babies and packs of children running around freely and a loose community sense, drum circles and blankets laid out on the grass and communal fires. But for the dozen or so obvious het couples (I say obvious meaning cuddling at the very least) I saw exactly one queer couple other than myself and my wife. It honestly made me slightly uneasy, despite knowing this was a safe and welcoming space.
Anyway, I’ll attend again because it is honestly a fun and interesting event with great people - but the next time I’ll know not to expect anything deeper than “come learn how to make a wood bowl”.

Parsha 18. Mishpatim. “The Tenets.” From Exodus 21:1 - 24:18.
Mish= to supoort
Pa= to break
Tim= to honor
Tumblr media
The Torah was written in partnership between God and men called Founders in order to give continual rise to sentience within all human generations. There are 7, starting with Adam and Eve, who are One Flesh, and then six male and six female couples that follow.
They form what is called the Menorah, or Lamp that has provided the basis for the Light of Reason for thousands of years. The Decrees provide law and order so the fire dancing on the wick of the Seven Flames does not go out.
The Mishpatim, the "vows to be broken and kept" are subtle versions of these, explaining choices the mind must make as to the master it is going to serve: truth or delusion.
At this stage of the Torah, we are around 11 or 12 years old; we have been told we can't stay home in Egypt forever, and the way to adulthood is laced with requirements and responsibilities including the laws of mankind the practice of religion as context.
We don't get to lose our innocence until Joshua breaches Jericho sometime in the future.
First are the Rules:
Laws About Slaves
SLAVES are traits we force into service of the Skills, the 12 and the 70. Analyze these verses using this as the basis for their firm understanding.
Threes, Sixes, Sevens, and Tens refer to the Days of Evolution and the Decrees.
Copulation is between ideas and their desired fruits. Jacob, the Follower, fuchked Leah, the Bountiful Cow and produced sons and one daughter. Sons are the ambitions, girls are the means.
ex.
The “unloved” Leah bore seven of Jacob's children—six sons, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun, as well as a daughter, Dinah.
Follower plus the working cow=
Leadership, honor, unity, praise, friendliness, the village of honor, and government.
"When a good student intercourses with work, honorable leadership in a government that unifies the people through friendship an honorable nation is the result."
All of the Torah is a massive mantra just like this.
Hebrews are "those that have crossed over, have grown up." Hebrew slaves are highly desirable:
21 “Now these are the hrules that you shall set before them.
2 When you buy a Hebrew slave,1 he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing.
3 If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him.
4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out alone.
5 But jif the slave plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’
6 then his master shall bring him to kGod, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever.
The Master is the intellect, and it must undergo evolution, and it must partner with other skills and traits if it is to earn its adolescent male slave boy self freedom in society at large.
Daughters are boys too, they like real girls can get filthy from intercourse with persons of fell ideals; they are supposed to be redeemed by healthy intercourse with the very best boys, for free, unless she is a really really good whore then money [effort] is no object:
7 “When a man lsells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. 8 If she does not please her master, who has designated her2 for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has broken faith with her.
9 If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter. 10 If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, or mher marital rights. 11 And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money.
=Bat Mitzvah.
see
Maimonides (Hil’ Avadim 4:2), based on Talmud Kiddushin 20a, writes that a man should sell all his possessions, including the clothes off his back, to avoid having to sell his daughter. Furthermore, if after selling his daughter he comes upon more money, he is immediately obligated to redeem her from bondage – and the courts force him to do so if he is unwilling (Kiddushin 18a). Thus, clearly, selling one’s daughter into slavery is viewed as an absolute last resort – where the father’s poverty has become so dire as to leave him with literally no alternative. Nevertheless, since poverty does and always has existed, the Torah does permit carrying out such a sale when the circumstances truly require it.
In terms of the details of the sale, the laws are not as severe as might first appear. First of all, a girl is not sold into absolute bondage. The buyer does not own her in body as a true slave. She is more the equivalent of a domestic servant – who works for her master while being paid in food, clothing and shelter. She can only be sold when she is considered a minor in Jewish law – i.e., under the age of twelve (Bat Mitzvah) and before she has developed signs of maturity. As soon as she does reach this stage, she immediately goes free. She also goes free after a maximum of six years of bondage or when the Jubilee year arrives, whichever comes first – as does a male Jewish slave (Mishna Kiddushin 1:2). And as above, as soon as her father acquires the money to buy her back he must do so.
5 But if the slave plainly says, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’ 6 then his master shall bring him to kGod, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever.
This is best explained by Deuteronomy 15 which explains slavery to the one who brings you to God is everlasting, God will always have your ear and you will always have His:
15 At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts.
2 This is how it is to be done: Every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made to a fellow Israelite. They shall not require payment from anyone among their own people, because the Lord’s time for canceling debts has been proclaimed.
3 You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your fellow Israelite owes you.
4 However, there need be no poor people among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you,
5 if only you fully obey the Lord your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today.
6 For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
12 n“Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death. 13 But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place to which he may flee. 14 But if a man willfully attacks another to kill him by cunning, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.
"A cunning man understands his steps." The Proverb says.
From Proverbs 14: 8-14:
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,     but the folly of fools is deception.
9 Fools mock at making amends for sin,     but goodwill is found among the upright.
10 Each heart knows its own bitterness,     and no one else can share its joy.
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed,     but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 There is a way that appears to be right,     but in the end it leads to death.
13 Even in laughter the heart may ache,     and rejoicing may end in grief.
14 The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways,     and the good rewarded for theirs.
15 The simple believe anything,     but the prudent give thought to their steps.
16 The wise fear the Lord and shun evil,     but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.
17 A quick-tempered person does foolish things,     and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.
18 The simple inherit folly,     but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
15 “Whoever strikes his father or his mother shall be put to death.
16 r“Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found sin possession of him, shall be put to death.
=Hypocrisy.
17 “Whoever curses3 his father or his mother shall be put to death.
18 “When men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with his fist and the man does not die but takes to his bed, 19 then if the man rises again and walks outdoors with his staff, he who struck him shall be clear; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall have him thoroughly healed.
=Don't be so hard on the Beav, man. A bed, a stone, a staff, this is the dream of Jacob before he became Israel.
20 “When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod [ruff!] and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged. 21 But if the slave survives a day or two, he is not to be avenged, for the slave is his money.
=Slaves are aspects of self one must force to do work. No one dies while they are being forced to grow up, no matter how hard it seems. To be struck by a rod means someone with an adult penis has the right to make persons without one to work without question or recompense.
As for "striking":
22 “When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and vhe shall pay as the wjudges determine.
23 But if there is harm,4 then you shall pay xlife for life, 24 yeye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26 “When a man strikes the eye of his slave, male or female, and destroys it, he shall let the slave go free because of his eye. 27 If he knocks out the tooth of his slave, male or female, he shall let the slave go free because of his tooth.
Eyes= attitude, goodwill towards others. There are good and evil eyes.
Teeth= teeth grow up and fall out. Bad habits are very much the same.
Hands= protection. Protection is given it is also provided.
Feet= acts of submission to the Tenets.
Oxes: Oxes are preachers. They represent the strength needed to fathom the Lessons.
28 “When an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the zox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner of the ox shall not be liable.
29 But if the ox has been accustomed to gore in the past, and its owner has been warned but has not kept it in, and it kills a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death.
30 If aa ransom is imposed on him, then vhe shall give for the redemption of his life whatever is imposed on him.
31 If it gores a man’s son or daughter, he shall be dealt with according to this same rule.
32 If the ox gores a slave, male or female, the owner shall give to their master bthirty shekels5 of silver, and zthe ox shall be stoned.
-> Stones are the Skills in the Ephod. Obviously if a preacher boy gets out of control, get him stoned.
-> -> Obviously we can't Oxboys, Rabbis, goring and butting people using the Tenets as his horns.
->->-> 30 is the number of "common things" one must use to pay their master if one acts like an Oxboy.
Here is what the Talmud says about the number 30:
Avoth Chapter 5 MISHNAH 21. HE USED TO SAY: FIVE YEARS [IS THE AGE] FOR [THE STUDY OF] SCRIPTURE, TEN-FOR [THE STUDY OF] MISHNAH, THIRTEEN-FOR [BECOMING SUBJECT TO] COMMANDMENTS, FIFTEEN-FOR [THE STUDY OF] TALMUD, EIGHTEEN- FOR THE [BRIDAL] CANOPY, TWENTY — FOR PURSUING, THIRTY-FOR [FULL] STRENGTH,[1] FORTY — FOR UNDERSTANDING, FIFTY- FOR [ABILITY TO GIVE] COUNSEL, SIXTY-FOR MATURE AGE, SEVENTY-FOR A HOARY HEAD, EIGHTY [IS A SIGN OF SUPERADDED] STRENGTH, NINETY [IS THE AGE] FOR [A] BENDING [FIGURE], AT A HUNDRED, ONE IS AS ONE THAT IS DEAD, HAVING PASSED AND CEASED FROM THE WORLD.
30 was also the age Joseph began his reign over Egypt.
Laws About Restitution
33 “When a man opens a pit, or when a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it, 34 the owner of the pit shall make restoration. He shall give money to its owner, and the dead beast shall be his.
-> Donkeys are the Messianic process. Pits are places in which refined men (oxes) and donkeys get stuck. Oxes and Donkeys are the source of all hope in this world. They are expensive and one must pay whatever is needed to rescue them in time and effort.
35 “When one man’s ox butts another’s, so that it dies, then they shall sell the live ox and share its price, and the dead beast also they shall share. 36 Or if it is known that the ox has been accustomed to gore in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall repay ox for ox, and the dead beast shall be his.
Stealing. Stealing is to steal hope. it is the opposite of Chesed or Grace.
The inner dimension of tiferet is "mercy" or "empathy" (rachamim) - the ability of the soul to feel for another person. Stealing (or robbing) is obviously the direct antithesis of this: in order to steal, an individual must forget about the other person's feelings. Stealing and robbing thus blemish, i.e. weaken, the power of tiferet above.
This is the mystical significance of the double restitution, for the thief causes a blemish above, in the concealed levels, while the robber causes a blemish in the revealed levels.
22 1 “If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and cfour sheep for a sheep. 2 2 If a thief is found dbreaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, 3 but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He3 shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. 4 If the stolen beast fis found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox or a donkey or a sheep he shall pay double.
Stealing. Stealing is to steal hope. it is the opposite of Chesed or Grace.

->Five Oxen for One, Four Sheep for One, the only place this happens is in the battle of Four and Five Kings.
5 “If a man causes a field or vineyard to be grazed over, or lets his beast loose and it feeds in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best in his own field and in his own vineyard."
For this we need Isaiah 5: We must not let Israel and its people, the vineyard and the vines get trampled. If we were to do that, we would have to rebuild and provide the world with a new one:
The Song of the Vineyard
5 I will sing for the one I love     a song about his vineyard: My loved one had a vineyard     on a fertile hillside. 2 He dug it up and cleared it of stones     and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a watchtower in it     and cut out a winepress as well. Then he looked for a crop of good grapes,     but it yielded only bad fruit.
3 “Now you dwellers in Jerusalem and people of Judah,     judge between me and my vineyard. 4 What more could have been done for my vineyard     than I have done for it? When I looked for good grapes,     why did it yield only bad? 5 Now I will tell you     what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge,     and it will be destroyed; I will break down its wall,     and it will be trampled. 6 I will make it a wasteland,     neither pruned nor cultivated,     and briers and thorns will grow there. I will command the clouds     not to rain on it.”
7 The vineyard of the Lord Almighty     is the nation of Israel, and the people of Judah     are the vines he delighted in. And he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed;     for righteousness, but heard cries of distress.
Woes and Judgments
8 Woe to you who add house to house     and join field to field till no space is left     and you live alone in the land.
9 The Lord Almighty has declared in my hearing:
“Surely the great houses will become desolate,     the fine mansions left without occupants. 10 A ten-acre vineyard will produce only a bath[a] of wine;     a homer[b] of seed will yield only an ephah[c] of grain.”
11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning     to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night     till they are inflamed with wine. 12 They have harps and lyres at their banquets,     pipes and timbrels and wine, but they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord,     no respect for the work of his hands. 13 Therefore my people will go into exile     for lack of understanding; those of high rank will die of hunger     and the common people will be parched with thirst. 14 Therefore Death expands its jaws,     opening wide its mouth; into it will descend their nobles and masses     with all their brawlers and revelers. 15 So people will be brought low     and everyone humbled,     the eyes of the arrogant humbled. 16 But the Lord Almighty will be exalted by his justice,     and the holy God will be proved holy by his righteous acts. 17 Then sheep will graze as in their own pasture;     lambs will feed[d] among the ruins of the rich.
18 Woe to those who draw sin along with cords of deceit,     and wickedness as with cart ropes,
6 “If fire breaks out and catches in thorns so that the stacked grain or the standing grain or the field is consumed, he who started the fire shall make full restitution.
=Thorns are immaturity. We covered this at the feet of Sinai. If someone starts gossiping, lying and propagandizing, he needs to stop and start telling the truth.
7 “If a man gives to his neighbor money or goods to keep safe, and it is stolen from the man’s house, then, if the thief is found, ghe shall pay double. 8 If the thief is not found, the owner of the house shall come near to God to show whether or not he has put his hand to his neighbor’s property. 9 For every breach of trust, whether it is for an ox, for a donkey, for a sheep, for a cloak, or for any kind of lost thing, of which one says, ‘This is it,’ the case of both parties shall come before God. The one whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.
10 “If a man gives to his neighbor a donkey or an ox or a sheep or any beast to keep safe, and it dies or is injured or is driven away, without anyone seeing it,
11 han oath by the Lord shall be between them both to see whether or not he has put his hand to his neighbor’s property. The owner shall accept the oath, and he shall not make restitution.
12 But if iit is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to its owner. 13 If it is torn by beasts, let him bring it as evidence. He shall not make restitution for what has been torn.
14 “If a man borrows anything of his neighbor, and it is injured or dies, the owner not being with it, he shall make full restitution. 15 If the owner was with it, he shall not make restitution; if it was hired, it came for its hiring fee.4
To borrow "being Jewish" from other Jews is to "see the Creator's Purposes become actualized. "
You may not practice Judaism, go to temple, or call yourself an Israelite, ie, borrow it from a relative or neighbor then defame the faith by engaging in corruption or hypocrisy or rebranding in anyway.
If you do this, you have to look good, feel good, and do good or it is as if you have not borrowed and returned on the investment properly or made restitution.
It is also appropriate to support the faith with money, time, practice and a stellar reputation. The best to pay the price for being a Jew is results: The world must grow, change, and benefit from life beamed to it through a Jewish filter.
Laws About Social Justice
16 j“If a man seduces a virgin5 who is not betrothed and lies with her, he shall give the bride-price6 for her and make her his wife. 17 If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, jhe shall pay money equal to the kbride-price for virgins.
18 l“You shall not permit a sorceress to live.
=A sorceress is the mother of anti-Semite. Just Kill the bitch.
19 m“Whoever lies with an animal shall be put to death.
=Do not have sex someone who acts like an animal. If you lie with an animal, you will surely regret it and then you must get bitten by the Bronze Snake in order to recover. This is also what is meant by the next Tenet:
20 n“Whoever sacrifices to any god, other than the Lord alone, shall be devoted to destruction.7
"God, not the gazelles." Too many gazelles creates a herd. Just saying.
21 o“You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. 22 pYou shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child.
23 If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, 24 and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
25 t“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him. 26 uIf ever you take your neighbor’s cloak in pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down, 27 for that is his only covering, and it is his cloak for his body; in what else shall he sleep?
"And if he cries to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate."
28 “You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.
29 “You shall not delay to offer from the fullness of your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. xThe firstborn of your sons you shall give to me. 30 yYou shall do the same with your oxen and with your sheep: zseven days it shall be with its mother; on the eighth day you shall give it to me.
31 a“You shall be consecrated to me. Therefore byou shall not eat any flesh that is torn by beasts in the field; cyou shall throw it to the dogs.
23 d“You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a emalicious witness. 2 You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, 3 fnor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit.
4 g“If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall bring it back to him. 5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying down under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it; you shall rescue it with him.
=Religious intolerance is not permitted in Judaism.
6 h“You shall not pervert the justice due to your poor in his lawsuit. 7 dKeep far from a false charge, and ido not kill the innocent and righteous, for jI will not acquit the wicked. 8 kAnd you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right.
9 l“You shall not oppress a sojourner. You know the heart of a sojourner, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
Laws About the Sabbath and Festivals
10 “For six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield, 11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the beasts of the field may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard, and with your olive orchard.
=Seven Years are extensions of the Seven Days. At the end of the Seven Years' cultivation of the Tenets, the world should be covered in vineyards and orchards with more "food animals" being reared in the "fields".
Vineyards are civilization, olive orchards are the dividends, peace on earth, goodwill towards men, plenty to eat, plenty of work, plenty of fun.
12 “Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant woman, and the alien, may be refreshed.
Thus ends Parsha Mishpatim, "the Tenets", numbered 18 of 54 contained in the Holy Torah.

Cold Chain Warehouse and logistics in India is one of the current research and development priority areas in Supply Chain Management, and there is a lot of potential for it to grow as well as an urgent demand for it. India is the world's largest producer of milk, the world's second largest producer of fruits and vegetables, and it produces a significant amount of fish, meat, and poultry goods. However, due to the inexperienced cold chain supply, there is significant food and agricultural product loss. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, around 1.3 billion tonnes of food are lost each year, accounting for one-third of global food production. These losses are estimated to be between USD 8 and $15 billion each year. To avoid these issues, AWL India is determined to make use of efficient Smart Warehouse Solutions to overcome the complex challenges that are involved in the cold chain sector.

I remember the color yellow, somewhere else around your face,
Blasted wet with press-on shapes black and red on moonshine plates,
Turning blue-eyed and blind and laughing-hued, soft white teeth breaking through,
With rocks half-sharp jutting up like new bones in our backs, pearls of lime kicking inwards over leaves of glass,
On bike tires streaking, heavy set upon the hill,
On beat-down flip-flops, lucite-veined on the hedgehog’s brow,
On black, on white, on agonized strife, on dexadrine highs and gay largactyl streaks,
On daysick dreams held much too long, on mattress sweat and heaven rope,
In words left empty,
In fruits unpeeled,
In placemats pressed with the clearest dirt,
In socks left crumpled underneath the floor,
Like a ray of light peaking over my doorhenge, yellow blest me awl for life--yellow blessed and      breast, twenty years forever gone--turn back another day.
Amen.

WIP Update 22 Jun 2022
A reasonably productive week as I push forward on my deadlines!   I touched 4 fics (3 WIPs & 1 new work) for a total of  2229 words.  @psychiccatpanda   and I posted the sixth chapter of our WinterIronHawk ‘accidental demon summoning’ collab fic.  I also posted a fluffy Stuckony ficlet for to fill squares for my @stb-bingo  and @buckybarnesbingo cards, and the next chapter of  Never More to Go Astray over on Ao3,  while here on Tumblr, I  posted an excerpt for an upcoming chapter of the same fic  for last Friday’s @flashfictionfridayofficial  prompt and a @stb-bingo prompt,
I’m sitting at 9 active WIPs  (with a couple of maybe TBCs)  with my current   deadlines being the Steve/Tony/Bucky bingo, which wraps up the end of this month, as well as my A Warm Light ‘zine fic, which is due on the first.    I  got my @starkbucksbingo - card (event open for signups thru today!) and the  @tonystarkbingo  which is open for signups through the end of June.  (Yes - I like collecting bingo cards!)
On the crafting side, I have one Stuffed With Character commission slots open for July at the moment - am pretty busy with commissions & prepping for cons!
See below cut for the WIPs  (arranged more or less by bingos/challenges/etc) I am working on  -   feel free to send me prompts or plot bunnies as well as asks regarding any of these projects   (or any other WIPs I’ve got out there) – they really help feed the Muse and keep me motivated!
The Devil Is in the Details (Sign on the Dotted Line)
This is the  WinterIronHawk ‘accidental demon summoning’ fic  @psychiccatpanda and I had So Much Fun with!  We ended up with seven chapters of Tony  and Clint and Bucky shenanigans - kicking off with Ty as an Awful Boyfriend  before bringing in a couple more members of the gang! Chapter 6  posted last Friday and we’ve got 1 more coming - so stay tuned!
A Warm Light Zine - Due 1 July
I got accepted as a writer for  A Warm Light Zine - dedicated to 2012 Avenger era Stony and coming hopefully sometime this autumn!  I was assigned the 2012 canon-compliant category for a 2-5k fic.  While I can’t share much about it here, I do want to at least keep track of my word count.  I think I’ve got my first draft finished at roughly 3500 words - just need a beta to look it over.   There’s a few bits that are semi-self-plagarized and I’m hitting  multiple 2012 Avengers tropes along the way.  I hope it’s reasonably well-received.
Steve | Tony | Bucky Bingo Round 2 [STBB R2]  (Runs thru 30 Jun 2022)
Twelve fills, and two WIPs.  Taking advantage of the One Fill, One Bingo opportunity, and might get a Column G  bingo as well.  Will have to lean hard into this now that I’ve got my AWL fic pretty much complete.
* B4 - Working Out -  this came from a Bucky Barnes Bingo server party:   Binging Avengers Exercises -   the team posts their workouts online and modern!Bucky spends entirely too much time watching the channel - especially Captain America and Iron Man.  I banged this out late last week - it’s sitting at 446 words and will probably get posted early next week.
*  N2 - AU: Western  - crossover with MWAPB  Next Door Neighbors  – I have a decent idea for this one  (semi-inspired by a recent re-read of  Laura Ingalls Wilder A Long Winter)   and finally got some actual fic words down.  It’s sitting at 690 words and is maybe a third to halfway  done…?
* N3 - FREE  -  Filling this prompt with Chapter Five  of  Never More to Go Astray  - my Stuckony MCU/Star Wars fusion.  It came in at  1083 words and  I posted it this morning.
* O4 - Lazy Sunday Morning  -  Pivoted on this, combining with my BBB Soft square and wrote a fluffy Stuckony ficlet during the BBB Discord party.   A Fruit Dispute came in at 357 words and was posted on Monday.
*O2 - “A Mind at Work”  - I wrote an excerpt to fill this square and last week’s  Flash Fiction Friday prompt  [#FFF157 Need More Space]  that is intended to be part of Chapter Six of  Never More to Go Astray  - assuming I can get it stitched in and completed in the next week  😬  The excerpt came in at 284 words and I have another 245 kicking off the chapter.
Finally wrestled my One Fill, One Bingo badge fic  into submission:      I’m combining    B5 - “Aliens, again?”, I5 - Lifeguard,  N5 - Barbeque,  G5 - River Rafting, O5 - Wakanda into   Ain’t No Party Like a ‘Saved the Universe’ Party   Avengers + Guardians in a partying mood = a huge headache for T’Challa.  It’s not one of my best works, but hopefully a couple of y’all will enjoy it.  It will post sometime next week.
Avengers Bingo [AvB] (Runs thru 24 Dec)
Two  fills posted and 0 WIPs - I decided to further challenge myself by pairing up each square with a unique combo of 2 original MCU Avengers! With the help of the STB Enthusiasts Discord folks - I’ve got all 16 squares   planned out, at least in terms of who to write about, and half of them have some sort of idea or crossover square to go along with them. Feel free to toss other plot  bunnies my way…
* A2 - On the Run  - Natasha & Steve - crossover with  MWAPB - Farmer’s Market?   post CA:CW Wakanda ?
*  A4 - Mutual Pining  - Steve/Thor - crossover with  MWAPB - Thor.
* A3 - Reunited  -   Clint & Natasha  -  Endgame Ronin scene?
* B1 - Death - possible crossover with  MWAP Crying square – post Snap Bruce & Steve  mourning?
*  B3 - Road Trip  -  Bruce & Thor  - Post Grandmaster, pre-Thanos  space shenanigans
*  C1 - Opposites Attract - Clint/Thor  - there was a fun Tumblr  headcanon going around about a Bumbling Foreigner whose ignorance of  local customs  results in him flirting with/proposing to the prince -  this seems like a perfect matchup!
* C3 - Reincarnation AU  -  Natasha & Tony  - post-Endgame
* C4 - Bodyguard AU  -  Thor/Tony  -  young!Tony - crush on Cap plays into attraction  (obvious title - Thunderstruck)  - holding on this til next round of TSB.
* D1 - Friends w/ Benefits  - Clint/Steve - crossover with MWAPB Hawkeye/Clint Barton.
D2 - Romeo & Juliet AU  -  basic idea:  Steve (jock) & Tony  (geek) trying out for title roles in R&J - despite their respective  friend groups thinking it’s a terrible idea.  Both cliques end up  becoming friends.
*  D3 - Bed Sharing  -  Bruce/Natasha - AoU compliant.
Man With a Plan (Steve Rogers) Bingo [MWAPB] (Runs thru 31 Dec)
Four fills, 1 WIPs and several Vague Ideas/potential cross fills with other bingos.  Prompts cheerfully accepted!
* B2 - Next Door Neighbors  - see  STBB   AU: Western  above
* B3 - Farmer’s Market  - see  AvB On the Run above
* B4 - Powerless AU  - if Sunqueen and I decide to continue   Wrong Number, Right Call ,  this would be a good fit.
* B5 - “I don’t really want to wake up just yet.”  - this would probably be a good fit with Chapter 5 of   Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’) which has been stalled for a bit at 747 right in the middle of a smutty scene.  Planning to circle back to this next month.
* I1 - Steve is here for TFAtWS  - this might go well with my BBB  “Oh, hell no"  square - Steve trolling  Bucky & Sam by sending the old man in with his shield?  (moodboard & ficlet?)
* I2 - Found Family  - see STBB One Fill, One Bingo above.
* I3 - Thor  - see AvB Mutual Pining above
* I5 - Dogsitting - possible crossover with  BBB “Run”  square - Steve & Bucky dogsitting for Lucky?  (moodboard + ficlet)
* N1 - School AU/Teacher AU  - if I decide to continue on with Technicalities (see Stucky Bingo  College AU above)  - I could fill this square  :: ponders::
* N3 - Online shopping - this might be fun as a crossover with BBB Thighs …?  (even tho lingerie is a “nah” for me) Steve and Tony buying a new wardrobe for Bucky  that show off his ass-ets?
* G4 - Canon Divergence post CA:TWS - possible  crossover with BBB  Kill List Bucky wreaking havoc on Hydra bases and  Steve & Sam catch up with him
* O1 - Crying - see AvB Death square above
*  O2 - Sex Pollen  -  Teenage Groot pollen =  aphrodisiac  hi-jinks. Quill & Gamora  warn the  couple (stucky)/throuple (Stuckony)  ahead of time, so no  dub-con.
* O3 - Hawkeye/Clint Barton  -  see AvB - Friends w/ Benefits  above.
Bucky Barnes Bingo - Round 4 [BBB_R4] (Runs thru 7 Jan 2023)
Eight fills and  three WIPs -  looks like I’m already in good shape to start with  a Row 4 and/or Column K bingo!
* B3 - Sam Wilson|Falcon - this would be a good candidate for a continuation of After One Or Two False Starts
* B5 - Soft - see  STBB  Lazy Sunday Morning above
* U2 - AU: Roommate  -  Still wanting to use the Meet Ugly prompt:  02. I bought a house three months ago but I’m finally moving in and discover you’ve been squatting because you’re homeless    -- probably WinterHawk with  recovering!Bucky being the squatter in Clint’s apartment building.
* U3 - Steve Rogers - Filled with  Chapter 5 of  Never More to Go Astray  which posted this morning.
* U4 - AU: Arranged Marriage - will probably pick Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion  back up for this one.
* U5 - Kill List -  see MWAP  - G4 - Canon Divergence.  Post CA:TWS above
* C2 - “Oh, hell no” - possible crossover with MWAP I1 - Steve is here for TFaWS
* C4 - KINK: Aftercare -  probably holding onto this until the TSB bingo 😁
* K1 - Thighs - possible crossover with MWAP: N3 - Online Shopping.   We had some fun in the Discord Bingo Party last weekend combining these prompts with Summer Holiday - here’s my summary:
Thanks to the wonders of the internet,   Sam had found the perfect outfit for his boyfriend to wear during their beach holiday -- a high cut brief-style swimsuit - grey with a red star on one hip.   It would show off his thighs of betrayal perfectly.
* K2 - Comics - sew the  Stuffed Marvel Classic Comics Bucky Barnes I drew up last month.
* K3 - KINK: Edging  - I have a smutty WinterIron idea for this - saving for the TSB bingo as well.
* Y1 - “Do you trust me?” -  Using this for Chapter 5 of Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’) - Mission Four: Pour Some Sugar: Part 2.   Chapter 5 picks up mid-sexytimes with Steve and Bucky and is currently sitting at 705 words. Current Last Line:  [a little too NSFW]
* Y2 - Never the fall that kills you -  this might be the title for the remix I want to do of   Seeds of Love  (by the super-talented @hddnone) Holding off on this til I get my TSB card, as I wanted to carry over my Secret Admirer  square for this as well.
* Y3 - “Run”  -  see MWAP I5 - Dogsitting above.
* ADOPTED1 - Peggy Carter - possible crossover with with MWAP - G3 - USO Tour (Peggy regaling Bucky with stories of Steve’s exploits while touring the US) or  N4 - Soulmates  (WW3some shenanigans!)
StarkBucks Bingo - Round 3  (SBB_R3) - Ends 31 Dec
Got my card late last week and haven’t  done much checking to see what I could use as crossfills.  There’s some fun dialog prompts I am looking forward to writing for!
I4 - Canon: Avengers Academy  - will probably do Stuffed Marvels sketches of Tony and Winter, as I know very little about the game/canon.
Steve Rogers Bingo - Round 2  (SGRB_R2) - Ends 31 Jan
One fill posted,  1 WIPs.  I got my square swaps and have  Grand Plans for crossovers with the upcoming  @steverogersweek event - we’ll see how many of these I manage to get done.  I need to hit these hard starting next week!
* A2 - Team Cap  - crossover with SGR Week: Day 3: Family or Howlies
* A3 - Domestic  - crossover witth SGR Week: Day 2  Lost Items or Clothes
* D1 - Pre-War Era - crossover with SGR Week: Day 1 - Birthday Wrote up a Stucky Bucky POV ficlet for this last week - it’s coming in at  277 words and is kinda sweet if I do say so myself!   It will post on 7/4 for the Steve Rogers Appreciation week event.
* D3 - Body Painting - crossover with SGR Week: Day 6 - Art or Pets
* D4 - Avengers Compound - crossover with SGR Week Day 4 - Food or Traditions
* E1 - Scars - crossover with SGR Week Day 5 - Touch or Shield
* E2 - Comics Nomad Steve  - SWC sketch of Nomad!Steve
————
On other creative fronts:  I have a  a Gritty in progress with Argoman, and another Gritty in the works. I currently have 1 July slot available.  Am also gearing up for a classic monster/horror con in October and a  superhero con in March - so need to build up stock for both.
if  you’re looking for one of a kind gifts (for a friend or something for yourself!)  you can plan ahead for  the next holiday season and check   out Stuffed With Character    over on Facebook for a full list of my designs (now over 80!).   They’re  mostly Marvel and monsters, but I have some Star Wars, Star Trek, DC   and Disney figures as well. Plus I love to take custom design  requests  for any fandom!

For the Fruit Salad ask Game: 🍊, 🍈!
Thank you for the ask 🤗 Link to the full fruit salad
🍊 Who’s a character you don’t write for that often, but keep meaning to write for more? (They’re so interesting! But maybe you have trouble pinning them down, or keep getting distracted by another blorbo…)
I want to write for all of the Forget-Me-Not/Forgotten Valley characters, but I feel like I'd need to play AWL/DS again to really get into the right mindset for them. With the remake coming so soon, I'm hopeful that it'll give me the boost I need. But no promises 😅
I'd especially love to write for Celia/Cecilia. She's one of my favourite characters anyway, but I feel like she gets overlooked a little in fics in favour of the more interesting girls like Muffy or Nami. Her backstory isn't quite as obviously dramatic as theirs, so I understand, but I think there's a lot of unexplored depth to her that we haven't seen yet. It could be really fun to explore who she is underneath, whilst still staying true to who she is.
Tumblr media
🍈 Who’s your blorbo and what are some of your favorite headcanons/ideas about them that repeatedly show up in your fics? Free pass to rant about blorbo opinions.
I've already talked about Celia, so let's gush about my other favourite Bokumono character: Harris!
Tumblr media
Where do I even start with this man?
Headcanons:
I'm not even sure if it's canon, or just the way I write him at this point, but I definitely think of him as quite a shy, reserved person. I headcanon him as very softly spoken.
I headcanon that he didn't choose to become a police officer; his father pushed him into the role. But he's always lived in his father's shadow, so he's never actually thought about what he wants for himself.
Tbh, I think his role in HM64 fits him better. I keep forgetting he's a policeman, not a postman in HM FOMT!
Because his sprites in HM:FoMT seem quite slim, I've always pictured him as more of a tall, skinny man than the chubby figure he's portrayed as in official artwork.
I think he gets his gentle, quiet personality from his mother. Where she is, I'm not sure, but the fact that's he's so empathetic to Gotz over the loss of his family, makes me think Harris probably knows grief too.
He strikes me as the kind of guy that would like English cricket over other sports like football or baseball.
While the idea of moving to the city is nice, he's a country boy at heart, and he feels most at home in the town he grew up in. Harris would be miserable if he had to live in the city longterm.
In fact, that's why things didn't work out with him and Aja. She was desperate to move to the city, but even though he loved her dearly, he couldn't bring himself to follow her.
He's actually quite shy, and doesn't have many close friends, despite being a very friendly person. Gotz is really his only true friend in town, before the Farmer moves in. But he grows so close to the Farmer that he eventually comes to them about his love life, trusting them with his deepest secret.
And, I'm gonna stop there, or we'll be here all week 😅
Thank you for sending the ask ❤️

El Sumo Sacerdote. Art by Chicome Itzcuintli Amatlapantli, from Tarot Yohualli Ehecatl.
The Hueytlamacazqui card is the card of the Hierophant, the High Priest who interprets the world of the spirit for the world of man. He represents established religion, received wisdom, the knowledge passed down by our ancestors as understood and codified by our elders. He is the masculine counterpart of the Priestess, Ciuhatlamacazqui. He stands at the door of the temple of Quetzalcoátl, the Lord of Creation, whose statue can be seen in the dark recesses of the temple over his shoulder. He is the high priest of Cholula, which was the religious capital of the ancient world, and was called the Quetzalcoátl, for he was given the name of the Lord of Creation as a title. In the distance can be seen the great pyramid of Cholula, which is the largest in Mexico, and behind, the volcano Popocatepetl. He carries a book, an amoxtli, on which is painted the glyph which means “wisdom,” in red and black in, which are the colours symbolic of wisdom. The book represents the Tonalamatl and the other sacred books of our ancestors, with which our elders have passed on their wisdom, and which the Hueytlamacazqui will pass on to us. He points up, towards the heavens, guiding us in his wisdom towards the Thirteen Fold Heavens, towards Ometeótl in his sacred place of Duality and knowledge. He is dressed in white, with the red belt and headband of a follower of the Middle Path, and his skin is painted black, the color of the mysteries of the divine, which is the color of the body-paint of priests. In his headdress is inserted a bone awl, tied with three paper bows. On each leg are also tied three paper bows. These represent the three levels of the body and the cosmos. The Heavens, the Earth, and the Underworld, as well as the Tonalli, the Teyollia, and the Ihiyotl, the three souls which link us to the world of the Spirit. He wears a white Tilma, a cloak, which only men in positions of high authority could wear, to symbolise his temporal power. Into his red head-band is also inserted a maguey spine. Maguey spines were used to pierce the tongue and earlobes in mystical ceremonies of self-sacrifice, by which to show our duty to the Teteo and pay back the sacrifices they have made for us. His cheeks and ear are red with spilled blood, from the ceremonies he has undertaken, piercing his earlobes with thorns. Behind him, at his feet, is a Zacatapayolli, a grass ball into which are inserted bloody maguey spines. This will later be burnt as an offering to the Teteo, and is a symbol of his piety and sacrifice. Before him is an incense burner, whose smoke carries his offerings to the Teteo in the proper way prescribed by our ancestors through the ages. A man and a woman kneel before him. They are both dressed in white, and like the Hueytlamacazqui, wear the red headbands and belt of the faithful. They touch the ground, and bring their fingers to their lips, in the ancient sign of respect before the Teteo and the holy of “eating earth,” and show their humility before him.
This is the card of religious and received truth and wisdom. Before we can make our own choices or follow our own path, it is wise to first follow the path of the wise who have come before us, to listen to the elders who have learned the ancient knowledge, and who can pass on to us the wisdom of our ancestors. The Hueytlamacazqui speaks, and his acolytes listen, and from him learn the ways of the Teteo, and the path towards living a good, fruitful, and proper life. He is the mentor who nurtures their spiritual awareness, who help them to access the divine through ancient tradition. This card suggests a need or a desire to remain true to tradition, a necessity to learn the principle before one can truly explore.
A third acolyte (again, a reference to the three-part cosmos) holds up an umbrella, adorned with an image of a plumed serpent. The umbrella shields the Hueytlamacazqui from the sun. This is a sign that, while he has much to teach us, true wisdom must in the end be discovered on one’s own, on a private and personal path. He points at the sun, yet is shielded from it. This is not because he lacks wisdom. He has followed his own path, and can only teach so much, before we must each strike out on our own, and find the truth of Ometeótl in our own hearts.

You woke up to an empty bed. It was normal after Didi was born but she was now 2 years old and could go through a whole night on her own. It was just something you would have to get used to with another baby in the house.
You walked into Ollie’s nursery and saw Spencer sitting in the rocking chair, cradling the baby on his chest. You wanted to stare at the sight for hours.
“Hey. I heard him crying about an hour ago, so I came in and he kind of just fell asleep in my arms. I was able to make breakfast though. Eggs are on the counter.” He whispered as he rocked back and forth.
“I love you so much. I have to run to the store after I eat, are you gonna be okay here?”
Even though Spencer was still on call, he guest lectured online for the community college on Saturdays.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. Didi will probably want to sit in with me anyways.” He smirked.
You woke up Didi and made sure she ate before heading out. The thunderstorm outside surprised you and you had to take the car instead of walking to the dollar general on the corner like normal. You only needed to get a couple of things like cereal and fruit snacks for Didi, so you were back before Spencer’s classes started to take Ollie from him.
Ollie was playing with his teething ring in his crib and you were sitting in the rocking chair next to him when the power went out. You heard a scream from Spencer’s office and picked up Ollie, holding him to your chest as you walked through the darkness and into the room you knew your distressed child was in.
Didi was sitting in Spencer’s lap, face red and wet with tears. He bounced his leg up and down, shushing her.
“Where did awl my fwends go?” the toddler whined.
“The power went out, Didi. They’ll be back later. It’s okay.” Spencer said, repeatedly kissing her forehead.
“What now?” You asked.
“Well, I’ll email my students with my phone, and Didi over here can finally dig into the rainy day box I have hidden in the closet! Come on, Didi!”
She leaped off of his lap and ran to your shared bedroom, Spencer in front of her. You sat on the couch in the living room, still holding Ollie. A moment later Spencer walked in holding quite possibly one of the largest boxes you had ever seen.
“Seriously? All of that just for a small power outage?”
“What? Power outages are fun!” He said, pulling out multiple candles and flashlights from the box.
Ollie started to fuss in your arms so you pulled your shirt down to reveal your breast and letting him latch on. It was easier to not wear a bra when Ollie was nursing instead of hassling with an extra clothing item. God, Spencer’s kids were just like him.
Didi had climbed onto the couch next to you, Spencer on the other side of her. He pulled a scrapbook out of the box and started flipping through it.
“This used to belong to your grandma, Miss Diana Reid. It has pictures of me when I was as little as you.”
“Really? Daddy, why were you so tiny?” Spencer chuckled at his daughter.
“Because, everyone is a baby at one time or another.”
“A baby? Like Ollie?”
“Yep. Exactly like Ollie. Momma was even a baby once. I can show you those pictures.”
“Oh absolutely not, Spencer. I love you but if you show our daughter that I might have to cover Ollie’s ears and have a talk with you.” You burst into laughter with the family around you.
“I can handle that.” He closed the leatherbound scrapbook and placed it back in the box, taking out a smaller, newer one, “Do you wanna see you as a baby, Didi?”
The four of you sat there, occasionally laughing at the pictures of before and afters of your pregnancies.
“I think that’s all we have so far. How about a puzzle?” Spencer dug back into the box.
You watched as Didi picked out a puzzle that would show the image of a butterfly when completed. Your family was so perfect. It was everything you had ever wanted.
Eventually you presumed you had fallen asleep, because when you woke up you were back in the bed you started your day in. Spencer had taken Ollie back to his room and put him to sleep. The exhaustion from the new baby had finally subsided for just a little bit when you realized that the bedside clock read 10:12 and that you had probably slept all day. Spencer climbed into bed behind you.
“So, Spencer, what did you do with Didi after I fell asleep?” You asked, rolling over to look at him.
“Well, we finished the puzzle, and then smelled something weird from the fridge. It was a super old take-out box. Probably from before she was even born. It was a good opportunity to teach her about mold though. I threw it out and then we read practically every book on her shelves. I ordered pizza for lunch and dinner.” Spencer had never been one to like cooking.
“Is the power still out?” You noticed the lights still weren't on, and a candle had been placed on the bedside table.
“Yep.” Spencer confirmed.
“Good. We shouldn’t have power more often.”
“And what? Go back in time and kill Thomas Edison?”
“Thomas Edison can kiss my ass.”
“Not if I do first!”
