Listening to the Hunger Games audio book cuz I’m having a bad week and it’s a comfort series and
It’s such a testament to Peetas general likability and kindness that he doesn’t come across as creepy haha. Idk how to put it into words. It’s so subtle. There’s a gentleness and a whole hearted caring aspect to him. He has this quiet calm resigned sadness to him that just rings so sincere. Maybe it’s his low key (high key) self deprecation/hatred? The fact he so genuinely wants her to live over him? Idk. But like if literally any other character was like “I watched you growing up and always loved you silently from a distance and now we’re trapped together and you feel pressured to kiss me to get food” I’d be like Burn Him Alive.
But ???? It’s like, he is completely lost in the moment and it’s literally just Katniss who is faking it and the poor love sick kid is like This Is It - it took being in a killbox to get to talk to the girl I like and I’m just ?? That’s so dumb and cute??
There’s no malice or expectations or pressure or hidden agenda. He’s just genuinely grateful for every moment with her. And she’s on the other side literally not understanding the concept of unconditional love.

hello i have ocd and i saw your kate with ocd post so i am here to talk about Her!! i specifically have contamination, harm, checking and order/organisation ocd so this will kind of just focus on those? actually i want to not make it fucked so i'm keeping out of the harm ocd headcanons definitely.
Bucket checking compulsion. She checks her bucket a specific number of times every day (for me whenever i check something i end up checking it 25 times), people keep telling her she should stop wasting time but she doesn’t think of it as wasting her time if she’s preventing all the bad things by doing this one thing
She cleans a lot, especially to calm herself down, if i recall details correctly. So i say she has contamination intrusive thoughts and she cleans surfaces and objects to avoid getting other people sick, like buys-sanitiser-spray-for-furniture, doesn’t-touch-public-bathroom-walls, wipes-down-restaurant-utensils, carries-two-sanitisers-on-her type cleanliness
Counting things until she gets to a Good Number, eg counting her steps and then she just Stops Walking once she reaches that number and she has to wait for the thoughts to pass
Religious/Moral/Superstitious thoughts because she grew up in such a diverse environment she was definitely exposed to some superstitions and moral values. For instance she believes in how if someone takes scissors from your hand it means they’ll fight with you, and she’s afraid of fighting with someone she loves, so she always puts the scissors down first
Checking on everybody compulsion, when they’re all together she checks if they’re fine; at the farm she checks on all the animals, her dad, and moocho. If milligan isn’t there she spirals and overthinks his mission, but he knows & always calls as soon as it’s safe for him to do so <3
I’d say if she exhibited any symptoms especially harm ocd in the orphanage she would be made to feel like a Bad Person
Whenever she thinks of a bad thing about a person she has to “overcorrect” and think of x number of good things about that person
Finally she gets the chance to get exposure therapy tasks for her ocd? Like they expose her to x thing that she thinks will make her/her family sick, and not let her clean her hands/body after, so she faces that through. It sort of minimizes the ocd intrusive thoughts in the brain once it proves that [bad thing] won’t happen if you do x task
I also have multiple thoughts on autistic kate but that is irrelevant right now

Hi hello and howdy
Since I can't contain my thoughts here's all the "Mirage" logicistics. Basically they either swap or enhance ones personality, heres a few examples:
Mirage Lenore is way more looney and impulsive, with a practically nonexistant off switch having to be dragged off screaming before she sets anything on fire, her group mainly sticks with her for fear of their own lives and she and Annabel are ALLOWED TO BE GAY!!! HOORAY!!! They still have the pretend to hate each other thing but thats mainly due to Annabel's paranoia
Mirage Duke is a shit magician who constantly looses parts of his tricks, he's also like WAYYY too overdramatic, the kinda mf to fall over if you steal his chip,

"Its... its just a crisp.."
"I WAS GOING TO EAT THAT!"
"Oh my god..."
So yeah, pathetic cringefail looser LMFAO, but he is the kinda person to pull a "OMG MY BEST FRIEND! MOVE!" And shove whoever out of his way
Mirage Pluto is if you took a wet cat and made him a golden retriever. He's very hyperactive, social, easily distracted. Mf is like "wanna hear abt my hyperfixations?!" Talks and doesn't wait for an answer a neat thing i did with some characters Mirage's is i inverted stuff abt them like hair, emblems, all that. He still thinks M! Duke's magic is cool
Mirage Berenice is a feral little creature, constantly biting or nibbling on things (mainly Eulalies arm, or her own. I dont think chewlery exists in the victorian era). She's also the queen of being unhinged, in spectre form shes somewhat normal at least. For the most part she's in her own world
Mirage Eulalie is the mean autistic, less into creepy/old things n thinks their lame and/or weird. She's the one dragging Berenice around and keeping the gang from falling apart. Her and M! Morella really out here sharing the only group braincell, shes also blunt as fuck and wont hesitate to tell you you look bad. I wanted to lean more into the japanese part of her character so she just kinda- speaks more of it now (lol idk how else to explain it)
Mirage Morella, like M! Eulalie, is a mean autistic. She's less emotional, and more of "I dont give a damn just get me out of here.", sticks with whatever group she's feelin that day tbh. Won't tell you you look bad, will probably just call you a dumbass and leave
Mirage Annabel is kinda like regular Annabel but without the "Life is like chess" mentality. So more jumpy, kinda a walking talking mental breakdown waiting to happen. Excess paranoia and increase of hallucinations cus pookie and I decided we aren't giving her a break
Mirage Prospero is no longer fancy and polite, he is sopping wet germaphobic wet cat. He will go through great lengths to avoid disease, faints around blood and puke, screams at the sight of his own rats (or just rats/bugs in general), actively raising his and Annabel's blood pressure with how scardy he is.
Mirage Montresor is imo the funniest one cuz he's just a polite little gentleman, doin all the chivalry shit like opening doors, pushing chairs in and out, saying his pleases/thank yous/welcomes, he's even calling everyone "Sir" and "Ma'am". He's still an asshole, but you really gotta provoke him to see that
Tbh, I didn't think much abt Mirage Will since Will to me is kinda just there as Monty's lackey who gets kicked around. SO he's less of a pushover, more demanding, up and refuses what people tell him, bullies M! Monty, he tried bullying M! Ada and M! Morella but bro got his ass kicked. On top of it, he's unfortunately more sexist and stubborn. No more people pleasing ig 🤷♀️
Finally, Mirage Ada. What I wanted to do for her is have her be an absolute girlboss who is always serving 100% of the time. Everything she does is her choice and for her and her friends, and and and shes Aroace too, pretty chill when she has to reject someone just like:

"Oh! I don't feel the same but we can still be friends?"
"Ok"

what fae like qualities do you believe aaravos has?
I don't know enough about the fae to say definitively (I've read some works depicting fae, such as The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser from the 1500s, A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare, some other folklore myths) but I try to stay away from sources that are too Christianized for stuff that's more Pagan / northern and western Europe and the 1500s has plenty already.
When in doubt I'm loosely using wikipedia / old class notes for reference but if there's a site or source I think is cool and helpful I'll note it down below.
There is some that are generally common knowledge, such as:
Fae being mischevious tricksters with very particular phrasing. They don't tend to often be outright malevolent as a motivation, but often do harm to humans anyway either due to ignorance or blue-orange morality.
Blue-orange morality (for those who don't want to watch a video) is basically when a creature or being does not have a morality that operates that we would define it (on a spectrum of ethical right or wrong actions per consequence or intention). A good example is the spirits from ATLA (not LOK) or One-One from Infinity Train. He's a helpful little robot guy and he loves his friends, but he is ultimately bound and operates within the Train's rules. It's not that he can't deter from the Train's rules without distress or that he doesn't want to, it's that deterring from the Train's rules just doesn't compute to him as even a thing to do. He's operating on his own unique level and it's what turns him from a S1 ally to a S2 antagonist (but not villain).
There tends to be an emphasis on names, deals, and exchanges, i.e. if a Fae says "Can you give me your name?" and you tell them it, they own it and you by extension now, stuff like that. Also have a tendency to give humans they like, or humans who do nice things for them, gifts (whether it's actually a beneficial gift is sometimes debatable).
The Fae often lure humans away from the Ordinary Realm into the Faerie Realm, where time and magic work differently. Sometimes this means being whisked away, or unknowingly stepping through fairy rings. This can include both the Seelie and the UnSeelie Court (Scottish folklore).
Examples of the Fae in popular culture include Spirited Away (don't eat the food!), changeling myths (faerie leaving their babies in place of your own, nowadays seen as a connection to old stories of Autistic individuals), arguably Coraline (film and book), will-o-the-wisps, and other figures in Welsh, Cornish, and broad European folklore, etc.
Variants / similarities include huldufolk (Icelandic and Faroese folklore), sirens (Greek), kelpies (Scottish), etc. Over time Christian (bc of course) associations have also been applied as both demoted angels and tempting devils, but that sort of works given one of Aaravos' most prominent comparisons is Lucifer, and Prometheus, who were as crafty and clever as they come.
Basically:
Aaravos emphasis (or lack thereof) regarding his name and the general mystery surrounding it — "My name would mean nothing to you" even in the face of Viren's demands
We see the emphasis on phrasing given that it's been stated by the crew that Aaravos never lies, but we know he purposefully obscures and omits information
Entering into deals and exchanges with humans, giving them gifts and promises (Ziard's staff, Viren's rule for himself and Viren's life for Claudia)
Him seducing Viren yes I said it / everything with Sir Sparklepuff tbh
Fae can also sometimes set trials to pass or tasks for people to fulfil, similar-ish to Aaravos giving Viren a little fetch quest for them to communicate / "Those who fail tests of love are simple animals."
We don't know what Aaravos actually wants, exactly, or why, but given the indifference of the other Startouch elves to humanity's plights (and the fact they've let Aaravos wreak havoc and have never stepped in to stop him) it's a far bet their long, illustrious lives have given them a decidedly warped morality, and that Aaravos is pretty indifferent to other people's immense suffering at this point, too
His mirror realm being its own sort of faerie realm that he can bring Viren in and out of
Aaravos having multiple names and monikers — the Fallen Star, the Midnight Star, one of the Great Ones — much the way the Fae folk have many — the Good Neighbours, the Fair Folk, the Kind Ones, the Wee Folk, the Others (citation).
This isn't as much of a thing but all the nature motifs surrounding Aaravos (Elarion as a flower, the nature-esque patterns on the box that held the Key and that match the key, the flower and vine emulations on his mirror).

i swear to god people are so fucking weird about autistic characters. chill your shit. quinni was showing darren why she masks becuase the real her isnt 'socially acceptable' yes, this is an autism thing, but lets step back from that for a second. in season two quinni is discovering how to be herself, and who she really is, like EVERYONE ELSE in the show because theyre literally SIXTEEN. shes learning to prioritise her own needs over other's needs, because shes been living for everyone else her whole life, this is not an autism thing, anyone can learn to listen to their needs, quinni's needs are just different to her nt friends, which is the thing that people dont get.
and my next point, if you want to say shes annoying, thats not ableism, you are legally allowed to dislike a character, do whatever the fuck you want. tbh everyone in the show is a little annoying at times. but if quinni is the only one you hate and its because of her unmasking then screw you tbh (also she is my princess queen and youre not allowed to hate her, says the law /not srs). anyway sorry if this comes off agressively its just that every fandom ive been in with an autistic character this shit comes up. shes not 'getting a pass' because shes autistic, it just contextualises her actions, youre not autiomatically ableist if you dislike quinni, do whatever you want im not your dad, unless you hate her for her autism and autistic traits, then fuck off

Favorite character: Polly Perks or Agnes Nitt (agnes is so underrated, give my girl her flowers)
Least Favorite character: I'm not gonna pick a villain bc I feel like that's a cop-out. Sooo for more or less "good" characters I'd say Fred Colon. I respect the space in the narrative he inhabits but I wouldn't want to hang out with him
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Shipping isn't the main way I partake in Discworld tbh, but here goes - Pollymal (duh), Susan/Lobsang (what could've been... even just as a friendship!), Angua/Sally (yeah), SamSybil (pure fluff tbh), maybe Lofty/Tonker or Agnes/Andre (the pianist from Maskerade).
Character I find most attractive: Sally von Humpeding, baby! Snarky butch vampire? I never stood a chance. I just wish we got to spend more time with her.
Character I would marry: NGL being married to most Discworld characters would stress me out. I think Susan Sto Helit and I could have a good marriage because we're both educators and she tries so hard to have a normal life lmao.
Character I would be best friends with: I think Agnes and I would get along. That girl would love karaoke night
A random thought: I have mixed feelings about the new audiobooks. Some of them are good but the audio balancing is weirdly off between the narration and footnotes. I think they should have just got Nigel Planar to do all the books he hadn't done and same with Stephen Briggs so that all the fans would be happy /j
An unpopular opinion: Not as unpopular on Tumblr but Pterry isn't above criticism! He's clearly one of my fave authors and I think he did a lot of good writing but he obviously had faults and it does him a disservice to pretend he was some kind of saint.
My canon OTP: This one is hard bc there aren't actually a ton of canon ships in Discworld, but my fave is SamSybil. Mostly I'm just a ride or die for Sybil and Sam makes her happy so I will always ship it. Lofty/Tonker is also up there.
Non-canon OTP: PollyMal even though like its bascially canon imo. But y'all already knew this about me
Most badass character: Truly how can you answer this for Discworld. I'm gonna go with Tiffany Aching for beating the Queen of the Fairies at 9 entire years old! (I also read this when I was about her age so I have a soft spot for her.)
Pairing I am not a fan of: I am an autistic aroace Vetinari truther and so I simply cannot get behind V/V. I'm glad y'all are having fun with that though
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I wanted more Agnes. I think she was going to be the up and coming witch before Tiffany came on the scene and I LOVE Tiff but I still wish Agnes could have had a more concrete arc.
Favourite friendship: This should've been the ship question, I feel like friendships are where this series shines. Angua&Cheery is really sweet, Granny&Nanny is so funny and you can tell they care so much about each other.
I'm adding a question for my top 5 books in the series: Monstrous Regiment (duh again), Thief of Time (oddly a companion book to Night Watch, read it!), Carpe Jugulum, Wyrd Sisters, The Fifth Elephant. (I know the Watch subseries is the most popular, but guys the other books are so good!!!)

Mitch doesn’t have much lore to him in all honesty
Just the dude that got terrorized by eyeless Jack (nawt Jack Nyras whatever the fuck La mishi mishi named their twink ass version of EJ)
But like. . . Maybe it’s just me being an EJ irl or just how much Mitchell fascinates me for no reason at all, hands down one of my favorite “background” CRP characters to a popular/mainstream one.
To sum up the eyeless Jack story told in Mitch’s point of view

Actual thing —>
In the original story, a man named Mitch moves in with his brother Edwin after his house is foreclosed. A week later, Mitch wakes up with a large gash on his cheek. After going to the hospital, the doctor reveals that Mitch's left kidney had been surgically removed overnight. Around midnight that night, Mitch wakes to see Eyeless Jack over his bed, wearing a blue mask with black liquid dripping from empty eye sockets behind the mask.
Mitch manages to grab his camera and take a picture before Jack attacks, clawing at his chest. Mitch escapes and flees into the woods, where he trips and is knocked unconscious. When Mitch awakens in the hospital, it is revealed to him that Edwin had been killed the previous night. His parents drive him to the house to collect his belongings. When he enters, Mitch sees Edwin's corpse and a small object lying next to it. He observes it find that it is his kidney with a bite taken out of it, covered in a black substance.

I guess I really like the fact that unlike other victims of different EJ stories (or just any slasher / CRP story) Mitch isn’t a complete dumbass and he fights and flights against EJ. The media of Mitch that is out there indicates the man has either blonde or black hair , blue eyes , and pale skin.
My guy is most definitely in his 20’s (assuming he is mid - late 20’s) and while not having a canonical full name (that I know of) I’ve seen multiple sources saying it’s Mitch(ell) Harlan’s / start w a H?? Idk. EJ’s story is left to be a mysterious one that is easily bended to fit anybody’s creative imaginary. That goes the same way for Mitch as well.
I ALSO SEE ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY THAT MITCH IS EYELESS JACK WHICH I FIND VERY VERY COOL
if EJ doesn’t kill its victims, or they manage to escape, they fall under a certain illness that basically mutilates their appearances. ( not canon at all plz I just wanted to mention this )

There is this sooper dooped cool artist on toyhouse, and while their eyeless Jack isn’t the victim (aka Mitch) and just happened 2 have the same night I still I love their interpretation of EJ.
