so many of the trans community's arguments fall apart when questioned but nobody is willing to sit down and follow through a conversation about it. for example, i can't count the number of times i've been told i need to educate myself and talk to trans people and then i won't be such a hateful terf. when i say to these people, i am educated, i came out as trans ten years ago, i'm on testosterone, i live the same reality as a transgender man - i still don't believe you can change your biology, and i still think men and women are socialised differently and gender is a patriarchal construct, and changing your gender only serves to reinforce that construct - what now? now that you understand i'm like you, i'm not hateful, i just don't share your beliefs, do my opinions hold some validity? invariably i get blocked, told that i must be lying about my own dysphoria, or branded some flavour of -phobic. if the trans community wants to be taken seriously they need to address their collective fear of being questioned or divulging from the acceptable narrative. they need to be able to have conversations where the other person uses 'incorrect' language or questions something that should be a god-given truth (ie. trans women are women) without shutting that person down or deflecting with accusations of hatred and transphobia. i am yet to find a single trans person willing to sit down and talk to me and defend their own views in a reasonable manner - instead, i get accused of things they assume radical feminists do and believe (wanting trans people dead, hating gnc women, upholding racist beauty standards), receive personal attacks on myself and often my disability and ethnicity, or most commonly just get blocked. i believe anyone is entitled to hold any opinion, but when you're demanding everyone else adhere to that opinion you need to be able to defend it, be open to criticism and be able to explain exactly why you believe what you do without using roundabout logic. do better.

I have not seen this website posted yet so gyns I am happy to present to you "The Grand Map of Non-Happenings"
Tumblr media
All you have to do is zoom in and click on the red tent and it will tell you of a reported instance in that area of a crime committed by trans identified males (even though it totally never happens)
Tumblr media
Best of all, it's crowdsourced, and you can submit articles not already listed right at the top of the map
Tumblr media
Gyns I pray you make use of this website and to publicize and bring to attention of these crimes that "never happen". Share it, use it, whatever you need. And donate to The Red Tent Collective if you have the means to do so!

what the actual fuck? all of the comments were supporting this dude even after this disgustingly misogynistic comment. I feel so bad for the women at that event.
"I don't even act like a man" yes you do. you're just completely delusional. @redditreceipts

So fucking tired of trans backstories. 99% of transwomen’s (men’s) stories and 99% of transmen’s (women’s) stories are the exact same.
MtF (male): Sometimes in my early life I actually didn’t feel like a braindead muscle man and then later on I REALLY started emphasising with girls in porn. I got SUPER deep into forced feminisation probably bc it was the ONLY thing that allowed me to be a sexy girl (and got my d*ck hard) and then I was like what if I could be a hot girl with big mommy milkers irl???
FtM (female): Sometimes in my early life I WASN’T constantly only thinking about dresses and gossip and the colour pink. Also I got kinda uncomfortable thinking about my body compared to what society determines attractive women’s bodies should look like, and my ultimate life goal isn’t to be barefoot and pregnant. Then I was like, what if I could be treated like an actual HUMAN, not just a “girl,” irl???
That’s literally fucking it. And somehow they still don’t realise how ridiculous they are. My year-long stint of identifying as a “transman” fits perfectly into the second category, and it honestly just makes me cringe recalling it.

i think part of why so many young women struggle with substance abuse is because we stop being treated as children/minors the second we admit to it half the time. I was fourteen the first time I told a therapist I was worried about my substance abuse and her first question was about how it'd affect my income and if I could still raise my brother correctly. again, I was fourteen and she was mainly concerned about my childrearing abilities more than the fact I was also a child and using hard drugs to get through work, school, and helping w my brother. other female addicts I met, they were asked a lot about how their substance use would impact a potential fetus more than why they were 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 years old and on dilaudid and heroin and coke and xanax and meth and the like.
when I went to NA, there were grown men there with children. they weren't asked once about how their substance use impacted them. they were called good fathers for trying to get better. the women there were told they were doing the minimum to even think of seeing their kids again. I saw fifty year old men treated less maturely than I was as a teenager. and we wonder why female addicts die and end up homeless and trafficked when every service available to us is judgmental as all get out. fuck

So phrases like "people with uteruses" or "people who have periods" never really bothered me as much as more overtly dehumanizing phrases like "bleeders" or "birthing bodies", but I saw a post today talking about the abnormal symptoms women experienced after getting tear gassed protesting, that ended with something like "we don't know the full effects of tear gas on people with uteruses". And what struck me about that is that's not really correct, because female people without uteruses (either bc they were born without one or bc they had a hysterectomy) will still experience different symptoms after being tear gassed than male people. Women metabolize substances differently than men, our immune systems are different, our hormonal cycles are different, our skin has different thicknesses, etc. All of those things have potential effects on tear gas reactions, and are not dependent on whether or not we have a uterus. They're dependent on whether or not we're female. So saying "people with uteruses" when what is meant is "female people" is not really accurate. And I realized that a lot of times when people use those kinds of phrases, they aren't being accurate.
For example, I'm sure we've all seen people say things about how the repeal of Roe v Wade will harm people with uteruses/people who can get pregnant/etc. And while yes, it definitely harms those people, the full truth is that abortion bans harm *female* people, *regardless of if they can get pregnant or have a uterus.* Because female people who don't have uteruses can still get pregnant, and in those rare cases will 100% of the time need an abortion. Female people who deal with infertility and can't carry a fetus to term can still be jailed for miscarrying. Female people who are completely sterile (for whatever reason) can still be denied medications/medical treatment on the grounds that the treatment could theoretically harm a fetus. Female people who may currently have no uterus/no longer be able to get pregnant but who have had an abortion in the past will face increased stigma.
Here's another example:
Tumblr media
It seems pretty straightforward- menstruation stigma is experienced by people who menstruate. But again, that's only half true. Period stigma is experienced by all female people, regardless of if they menstruate. Think about the fact that we are told female people should not hold political leadership because "what if a female president has PMS and starts a war", despite the fact that almost all female presidential candidates are old enough that they would have experienced menopause. Female people have their feelings dismissed because "it must be that time of the month", regardless of if they're too young to menstruate or too old or if they have a condition causing amenorrhea. Female children grow up seeing periods- a natural function of their bodies- portrayed as disgusting, dirty and gross, as making them unclean, as something to dread and fear. This affects them before they experience menarche, this affects them even if they never experience menarche. It affects all female people.
I could come up with more examples, but you get the idea. Reducing female people to singular body parts and organs inherently denies the reality of femaleness. All parts of us (both biological and social) interact with all other parts of us to form an experience that can't be understood by chopping us up and putting our individual functions under the microscope. In order to get an accurate picture you need to look at the whole (female) human.
