Feeling yet another piece of popcorn hit your cheek, you turned to glare at Audrey. All you received in return, however, was a view of her smirking profile. Before she could do anything to stop you, your hand reached into the bowl between the two of you, grabbed a handful of popcorn, and threw it in her direction. 

“Okay!” she exclaimed, finally turning to look at you. “I’ve never thrown that much at you!”

“Yeah, whatever,” you chuckled.

Audrey’s gaze remained on you as you looked away. Your focus returned to the movie on your television. It was some old horror movie that only Noah seemed to know about, but he had finally convinced the two of you to watch it. In your head, he was anxious waiting in his bedroom, phone in hand, for an official movie review. 

“You still seeing what’s-her-face?” asked Audrey, after a few seconds of silence.

You smiled in amusement, knowing who she was referring to. Recently, you had gone on a few dates with a girl from one of your classes, but it didn’t pan out to anything special.

“No,” you muttered. “She’s nice, but probably a better friend than girlfriend, I think.”

Audrey hummed. The satisfied tone of it, however, made you raise your eyebrows, “Wanna elaborate on that hum?” 

“Oh,” shrugged Audrey, “it’s nothing.”

You huffed, then muttered, “Doesn’t seem like it. Jealous?”

“And what if I am?” 

You paused, unsure of how to respond. However, you couldn’t stop a small smile from growing on your face. 

“You’re cute when you’re shy. Have you always had a crush on me?”

You shook your head at her. You didn’t even need to look at her to know Audrey had a wide smirk on her face.

“Shut up, Audrey.”
