Thinking about Reverend Daughter Gideon again.

Like Harrow Nova is tragic on a outrageous level, two hundred murders that did nothing, but Harrow knew what her parents done when she was very young and the thought of a tiny baby Gideon learning that she should be dead but isn’t is just…. Her attempted murderers are now acting like her parents while their actual child (the only companion she knows) is treated like trash right in front of her.

Our Harrow tries to be the best because of massive guilt, that even though she knows she can’t ever make up for what her parents did she has to at least try. Reverend Daughter Gideon, however, would be driven by fear. The only thing that kept her above being treated like Nova is being a necromancer, if she’s a bad one she might just lose everything.

something I haven't seen said (although obvs I could have missed it, it's not like I can read the whole tag lol, and I don't have anyone to talk to about this) is how Crowley is still in communication with Hell in some way (Shax, at least, and then Beelzebub bringing him back down and letting him go - although in hindsight there were clearly other reasons for that), but he tells Shax that Heaven doesn't talk to Aziraphale anymore. and I imagine for Aziraphale, whether he knows about Crowley talking to Shax or not, that has to really, really hurt. the first time he has any contact with Heaven in four years (as far as I can tell from my single watch) is the archangel fucking Gabriel showing up at his door.

and yeah you'd hope that he'd learned something about Heaven's priorities after the Not-pocalypse, but even after "our side," even after the hellfire/holy water, even after "to the world," he still believes in God (because he never actually got to talk to the Almighty), and so he still thinks that if he could just get in touch with the right people, he could fix everything. and I think that's perfectly in character, even if it makes me want to shake him until his single brain cell falls out.

imagine being someone at new rome university and not knowing percy is the same guy as “percy jackson, son of poseidon, two-time hero of olympus, former praetor” because the thought doesn’t even cross your mind. like… he’s percy. he’s a total frat boy. on a normal night, he walks into a party, refers to everyone as bro or dude, socializes with every living (and not-living) person in the room, makes at least 50 sarcastic comments, plays 12 rounds of beer pong, drinks way too much, and then skates around campus on his skateboard yelling “I LOVE NEW YORK” (which makes no sense, because they’re in california) until someone calls his girlfriend to come get him.

and then one day there’s an attack, and frat boy percy is all of a sudden a fighting machine. he’s yelling battle cries alongside the praetors frank zhang and hazel levesque as they lead everyone into battle. (why is he with the praetors? and why…. why in the world do the praetors seem to be following his lead?) his sword slashes through armies of monsters faster than you’ve ever seen. he’s controlling the entire river surrounding the camp, creating huge waves as tall as skyscrapers that crash down all around him, wiping out monsters and causing mass destruction to his enemies’ ranks. the sky is suddenly dark above you, ice-cold water droplets are slashing through the air, and the wind is blowing so aggressively that it’s making it hard to stand up steadily. because he’s somehow created a hurricane.

and he looks terrifying. you can feel the power radiating off of him. he’s like a god. or maybe a monster. it’s hard to tell. you’re a little scared of him, to be honest. but also in total awe, because it’s extraordinary. he’s extraordinary.

it really does bother me how no one can seem to answer the question “what even is romantic attraction, really.” like some people are like “it’s who you wanna kiss and cuddle <3” and I’m like ok well kisses and cuddles can be either sexual or platonic depending on context. “It’s who you feel passion/desire/arousal for” well that just sounds like sexual attraction which you can have without even knowing somebody so I fail to see how that’s romantic. “It’s who you want to go on dates with” I go on dates with friends all the time plus “date” is a social construct anyway there’s really no innate difference between a date and hanging out. “it’s who you have deep feelings for” great news for you that can be literally any type of relationship. my friend told me she defined it as “who you wanna give roses to” and I’m like do u hear urself??? like the more I talk to people the more I’m convinced romance and romantic attraction is an elaborate socially fabricated illusion that has no real defining characteristics. and like there’s nothing Wrong with it being a constuct but why people are so attached to defending the supremacy of it is something I cannot for the life of me figure out
