Of course my dear Micky :) I hope you had a lovely birthday!!

You can't blame him. You'd like to damn him, his careful hesitation, but you can't. Until about an hour ago, you were almost certain you couldn't stand the man.

Frankly, you're not completely certain that you could stand him now.

You take in the flush that's risen in his cheeks, the bright-eyed, stunned way he watches you. He peers up at you like you're the sky, the sun, the stars—like you're everything. His hands flex in the fabric of your jumpsuit, tightening for just a moment before he loosens his grasp. Poe's hand smooths up your back, curving you closer again where you've drawn back to get a good look at him.

You roll your hips slightly as you adjust, resting your hands on either side of his head and looking down at him.

"We can stop," You offer. You think that must be why he went still—because he can't decide where he wants you, how he wants you—if he wants you.

Poe's hand raise to cup your heated cheek, to center you and keep your gaze on his.

"I don't want to stop," He murmurs, "I want to savor."

"Savor?" You repeat, dumbfounded.

Poe's smile widens, gaze sweeping your face.

"Look at you," He shakes his head. "I feel like I've never seen you before."

Your stomach flips with nerves, and you begin to draw back a little. He tightens his hold on you, slipping on hand up beneath your shirt, his course, warm palm skimming over the chilled, tender skin of your lower back.

"You've seen me before," You insist.

"Not like this." Poe shakes his head. "I like it."

"That so."

"I think I could get used to it." He pushes himself up a touch, pressing a kiss to your neck. "I want to get used to it." He sits all the way up, drawing you close as you straddle his hips. You slide your hands up into his hair, drawing in a breath as he sucks a kiss to your neck.

"You want me to get used to it?" He murmurs, the words humming against your skin. You grin, shifting your hips down against his.

"I want us both to get used to it."

do you have any thoughts on mike and the other boys taking care of davy when he’s all baby?

Of course I do!

Taking care of Davy makes Mike feel needed. As exasperated as he is when the guys get into trouble, he loves being their leader and helping them because it gives him a sense of purpose. As the older brother of many (according to monkee mother), Mike always finds himself doting on the others. They obviously look to him when they’re in trouble but for the little things, Peter just lets it happen but Micky always protests because ‘I am a legal adult, Mike’. Davy on the other hand, is like the holy grail for Mike because Davy needs doting on. He’ll help him do all the little things like brush his teeth and button his shirt. At first Davy pretends he’s going along with it for Mikes sake but he finds himself relying on Mike when he goes baby. Davy’s always clinging to Mike, holding his hand, attaching himself to his leg, getting a piggyback ride, or grabbing onto his arm. It helps Mike feel grounded and he gets less negative thoughts when Davy’s hanging out of him because he’s physical proof Mike is wanted and needed.

The Monkees have a plethora of bath toys but… no bath. Whenever Mike thinks Davy needs some sensory play he’ll get out a big bowl and fill it with water and bubbles and put the toys in and let Davy play. They sometimes do this out on the beach with a hole of seawater Micky digs but it gets them a few odd looks. Davy loves playing with water the same way he loves playing with sand (like that one scene that I’m pretty sure made it into the season one theme where he’s just running sand through his hands).

The little kid costumes (Monkees mind their manor, monkee vs machine, captain crocodile, Goldilocks sometimes) are clothes that Davy just wears sometimes. When he’s all baby one of the other guys will pick out his outfit and help him get dressed. Davy can do it by himself but he likes the others pampering him. He also puts up a fuss and refuses to put his arms through the holes because he thinks it’s funny.

Like @androcola ‘s posts (that I think were based off an ask by @scoobydoomidnightblue ), the Monkees have communal naptimes. I think this mainly stemmed from Davy needing a nap but refusing so the others had to pretend it was for their own benefit as well (they do love it though). I think even when he’s all baby, Davy’s still stubborn as ever so he’ll protest all kinds of care but love it really. He’ll enter a room silently, all ready in his jammies with his blanket in his hands, and the other guys are like ‘nap time!! Everyone down!’ And they all cuddle and fall asleep.

Peter takes care of Davy a lot more than the others expect him to. Peter loves taking care of Davy because 1) he loves Davy, simple as and 2) it makes him feel responsible. Since they share a room in S1, Davy always crawls into peters bed after a nightmare or just when he’s feeling extra soft and snuggly. Peter sings him to sleep and plays with his hair. He sometimes braids Davy’s hair and that’s why his hair is left so long. Peter also has no concept of money so whenever he has some, the fridge may be empty but Davy always has a new comic or something to play with.

Davy always gets too distracted to eat. The cereal boxes on the table get his full attention during meals and he’ll always be doing the crossword or whatever game is on them. Because of this, Mike has to spoon feed him. He’ll tuck a towel or napkin into Davy’s shirt as a bib because when Davy’s not paying attention he forgets to open his mouth and spills some milk and they do not have the cash to keep going to the laundromat. (Micky always gets up early to find whatever toy is in the box, then puts it back for Davy to find.)

Sometimes Davy goes full baby and the others drop everything to take care of him. Davy will go mute and communicate through pouts until he gets what he wants. The others bundle him up and cuddle with him and Mike will read to them, or Micky will tell/act out an animated story. Like irl Davy, Davy needs to be close/touching someone to sleep so he always makes sure he has a point of contact with all three of them before he settles down.

The other adults around also know about Davy, so when Davy’s feeling baby and Babbitt comes over, Mike will warn him and Babbitt will take Mike into another room and wont raise his voice. The older ladies next door will bring him treats or old kid stuff they found in their attics (toys, teddies, books, etc). Their neighbours don’t find it weird because 1) its one of the least weird things about those monkee kids and 2) one look at Davy with his pouty lips and big eyes make them all coo so they get it. Micky also gets very protective over him and though he is canonically a weakling, he’ll threaten anyone that says anything bad about Davy.

Let me explain the lore to you;

At some point after the showverse cannon Peter Tork left the Monkees. He moved back to New York and tried to try and get famous however back in California the Monkees finally started getting known. As the 70s roll around and glam gets more popular Micky starts to convince the band to move further into the glam aesthetic. First it’s costumes, then it’s makeup, then it’s reworking their songs for a different sort of rock flavor and as they really figure out their brand they start to take off. Peter is in New York, his musical career has failed but he starts teaching to make money. As the 80s start to come The Monkees are getting more popular as a glam rock band and they show up in New York doing a show for a New York broadcasting company which Peter sees. He remembers the good days and he goes to find the monkees, first talking to Davy (his ex) who is mad at first but finds it difficult to remain like that. He can’t truly hate someone he loves can he? But Davy can’t just take him back. Peter hurt him and besides, Davy and Micky are dating now and have been for a while. Davy ends up talking to Mike about his conundrum and Mikes tenderness only makes it harder for Davy to know what to do. Davy’s heart is just too big for his own good. What’s the solution? What can a man do when he has a boyfriend but still loves his ex and is developing a crush on one of his best friends? I’ll tell you a secret, it’s polyamory

Hi I've come to be a nuisance again because this idea has been tormenting me all day

Having Christopher Pike meet a woman while stuck in another universe, someone that he was falling for, someone who sacrificed their life for him to make it home

Him feeling this loss, but doing his best not to wallow as the ship and crew move on, pulling himself together to meet the new cadet joining the Enterprise

Only for this new cadet to be this universe's version of the woman that he lost

okay first off, the VIOLENCE of this

secondly, I'm losing my mind over the idea of this, over the possibilities??? and the angst, oh boy, the angst potential -

because he sees this cadet appear on the transporter pad, sees the woman he knew from another universe and for a moment everything just sort of stutters - his heart stops, he can feel the blood from his face draining and the ground has just shifted beneath him - and then he blinks, and this cadet, this stranger wearing the face of someone who could have been so dear to him, is looking nervously between him and Una, the smile on her face flickering, dropping because Christopher's just standing there, frozen in shock. And he shakes himself, smiles, extends a hand and welcomes the cadet on board, before passing her off to Una as quickly as possible without being truly, overtly rude.

And then he tries to avoid her, at the very least, without making it overly obvious. Because of all things, of all things the universe to throw at him - facing his own mortality for the time crystal, facing the consequences of his warning the cadets about the accident - Christopher never would have expected to see another version of the woman who caught him so off guard. But then again, after all the things he's seen, everything he's been through - why wouldn't their paths cross again? A one in a billion chance of being sent to an alternate universe, so what are the odds he'd run into another version of someone who was dear to him, could have been everything to him.

A fixed point in space, anchoring together.

But she doesn't know him. All she knows are the stories she's heard, of the Enterprise, of her crew, of her captain - stories that left her with stars in her eyes and a burning determination to earn her place aboard. When she finally does, it's everything and nothing like she imagined. The crew is amazing, the work is interesting and the ship, my god, the ship is everything she could have dreamed of. But the captain...well. He's friendly enough, but he's standoffish in a way that surprised her, more than a little. After everything she'd heard, all the stories she'd been told, the reports she had read, she thought she would have been welcomed a little more warmly, maybe even been invited to one if those famed dinners she'd heard about.

But Captain Pike's distant with her. Cool, even, which was startling to say the least, especially when she considered how he interacted with the rest of the crew, especially his bridge crew. So for her to be on the receiving end of that polite but distant attention - it hurts. More than she thinks it should, but there's an echo to the hurt she doesn't understand. She pushes through, because he's not displeased with her, and she earned her place aboard the Enterprise, goddammit. She won't let some jumped up flyboy's displeasure over her presence get in the way of the one posting that will make or break her career.

A fixed point. Two stars, anchoring each other, repelling apart - would it be total destruction or the creation of something new?

I have a creepy toy monkey from the 60s and I can think of is Micky bringing it home from an antique store and the others just staring at it in fear

i know micky had one of those creepy cat clocks that's eyes tick back and forth and when mike was still sleeping on the couch, he'd sit and stare at it cuz it made him scared 😭

I was rewatching the christmas episode and I love the part where Davy says he uses a security blanket, I know it was just thrown in to be funny but it’s actually really cute to think about. do you have any thoughts on it or similar headcanons about him?

It IS really cute!

I do have some thoughts on it. Probably many. These are going to be very disorganized and probably a bit overwritten, I warn in advance.

There was an interview that irl Davy did right before he died when he talks about needing someone there while he sleeps and I know when he was little (still real life davy) he had a “security pillow”. So I kind of stick those into my headcanon of tv show Davy sometimes. I think he likes having human contact and obviously we know the boys have zero personal space so he gets lots of it from his monkee brothers.

of course I’m a sucker for little tiny baby davy because he’s totally a spoiled brat toddler sometimes and he’s a fricken cutie whether i like it or not but i have some little thoughts that go more along the lines with that as well as contributing to him needing human contact I guess.

throughout the show when davy gets scared he tends to cling onto people (see clinging onto mike’s arm in the adorable monkee bed, or clinging onto micky’s arm when they think peter falls off that balcony in some video for a song that I can’t think of right now. maybe for pete’s sake?) or he jumps into someone’s arms and they carry him away, or he calls for out for Mike (see the circus episode when the guy starts throwing knives at him. like honey, what is mike gonna do? he’s a skinny little scarecrow man. michael tries his best.) OR he gets all jumpy and overstimulated and then devolves into nervous little giggles (see the wild monkees episode when he thinks the biker is gonna kill him but it turns out she’s a girl and starts kissing him and he’s nervously laughing and she can barely hold onto him. he’s definitely panicky and overstimulated there.)

but basically i think that when davy’s scared, he kind of just turns into a kid in certain ways. He wants the security of someone there to take care of him. he’s all bark no bite. he acts all tough because he probably grew up needing to act tough or else he’d get picked on for being small, but now he’s got his friends to help him and i think it allows him to feel safer and to be able to rely on others more.

This connects a bit to another portion of davy’s real life that I connect into the show headcanon even though it’s clearly not meant to be within the written show. real life Davy lost his mom when he was young, and I sometimes think about the implications of if that had happened to davy in the show even though show davy has probably honestly never felt any real pain in his life. in certain ways I think that could be a reason he wants that security in the show, if he lost his mom.

I think this is a reason he clings onto mike, who’s very obviously the “protector” of the group (he’s their mama hen!! and they’re his little baby chicks following him around!! but i digress…) and mike has become a bit of a surrogate mom for Davy, and gives him what he lost as a kid losing his mom so young.

THIS IS SO SO LONG SO FAR IM SORRY

but mike being a mama to the boys, especially to peter and davy because i think micky’s more older brother type and they’re more of the “little ones” (don’t get me started on peter’s connections to mike. they run deep and peter is very much a very complicated kid in certain ways. he needs a lot of love and has deep down a fear of abandonment that i don’t think he even realizes he has, and mike is trying to help him through it. davy also helps with peter. they all help with peter, peter is so loved. anyway this is not about peter). Mike being the mama is so important to me and I love it so much and im gonna ramble about it so im sorry in advance (the monkees cuddling and making each other feel safe is so very important to me. they’re just my warm squishy comfort characters and i project everything onto them)

I made a post i think on my main blog about all of the monkees using mike’s big hands to stim with (people put davy as the “neurotypical one” but i don’t think he is. idk what he kind of neurodivergent he is but he’s something, he just conceals stuff well. i don’t even think he realizes or may ever realize. this is the 1960s we’re talking about) but I touched briefly upon my thoughts that davy just lets out his toddler energy when him and mike are on the couch and he just plops down in mike’s lap and grabs mike’s hands and occasionally bites them, but also grabbing his fingers and straightening them and stuff and making mike clap and things. Mike is just used to this at this point (davy is spoiled. don’t tell davy. he’ll deny it.) but sometimes it can be too much and I think mike has to set some boundaries about how much he can handle as a “mom” at points and Davy listens. In some of my thoughts I think Davy and Mike have known each other the longest (they just have that easy groove, i don’t know) and I think they’re able to talk well so mike can communicate if it’s just too much for him and davy’ll listen.

also Davy totally just parks himself in mike’s lap a lot and clings onto his shirt and just sits. Sometimes he just needs a nap or something and mike is warm and comfortable and davy knows he’s loved. The monkees full-group cuddle position on the couch watching the television is often peter and micky on either side of mike (pete sometimes sits on mikes lap but he’s a bit heavy and davy has a tendency to kick him off of it. davy be nice!). and davy on mikes lap and they’re all very sweet and nice and i love them.

i keep getting more and more thoughts im sorry…

one more thing i guess. davy wishes mike could pick him up. hes like a little purse dog and sort of internally wishes to be able to just be carried around on someone’s hip all the time. Mike has tried but it hurts his back. micky can do this a bit but davys just too heavy for him and he can hold him better carrying him “bridal” style like he does when davy gets scared in the show. peter is the only one who can really pick Davy up on his hip because he just doesn’t realize davys heavy because monkee logic, and davy is very startled by this at first because peter can just scoop him up and carry him around.

okay. that’s all. i’m gonna leave it at that. this post is so long, i apologize dearly. but i have many many thoughts so thank you for the ask anon!
