(Oh Boy by Man Repeller)
i think i haven’t ever listened to a more real and soul-shattering episode of oh boy than this one.
jay buim and ashley ford talk about anxiety and how to overcome it, about how to be true and honest to yourself while still experiencing major self-doubts.
i basically want to be both of them. their talk made me tear up several times and when it ended i felt like crying all over again. ( the past few days have been harsh on me, i’m constantly sobbing all over the place )

Haunting Memories-Self Para
Ashley sat in her room on the edge of her perfect white post bed on top of her perfectly made pink sheets in her perfectly clean room. Everything appeared perfect on the surface but the bed hid bottles and packages of weed underneath it and the sheets hid tears shed into the pillows late at night.
It'd been a month and a half since Karissa was gone. Ashley didn't know how she'd ended up in this state. All she knew was that her baby sister was gone and it was all her fault. There were so many things she could have done to prevent the accident, but she didn't. She could have let the driver take her life instead. She would've in a heartbeat. But now...now it was too late. All she had was her beer and her pot and her new friends. She wasn't her old self and she knew that and part of her hated it. The other part however, wanted this. She needed that beer to forget. She needed the pot to forgive herself. She needed to move on with her life.
She looked around the perfect room and smiled. Just like it she would be perfect on the surface. Absolutely shiny and brand new as if nothing had ever happened but under it all, she would always remember. The screech of the tires and the look on Karissa's face just before it happened. She knew this all was going to help her forget...to forgive.

I felt like someone's little girl.  And I'd been waiting a long time to feel like somebody's daughter.

When you don't grow up with a certain kind of affection, even if you know you're worthy of it, it can be hard to accept in adulthood.
