Regarding Ash's released Pokémon in the Poké Beast AU, I can see the following happening:

Butterfree: Breaks out of behavioral school with his new swarm and goes full on folklore cryptid status.

Lapras: Never goes back to the herd after being rejected for the first time; Ash is more important and the baby has tasted blood and taken down a Moltres.

Larvitar: Is too rowdy to stay at the preserve and given back to Ash.

Goodra: Stays with Ash after resolving the conflict in the marshlands but ominously promises to return if anything else happens.

Greninja: Kalos caused the problem, Kalos can fix it. Kalos hurt Ash, so it owes the region no loyalty.

Naganadel: Is usually mistaken as the second coming of Necrozma due to the level of feral.

Nebby: Is waiting for a chance to go supernova on Ash's enemies he really wants his Meema to say yes.

…. I really wanna read a fic where Nebby, once evolved at the alter, just lowers their head and growls at Gladion before allowing the class on his back. Gotta but that boy back in his place.

Alright! Ranch time! (This is going to be a LONG post and I’m on mobile so I’m sorry I can’t put a read more on it)

So originally I had The Ranch as a giant piece of property is Ash’s dad’s name that was passed down to Ash but Delia had given the deeds to Oak for safe keeping and subsequently forgot about them. It wasn’t until Oak found them again in a box in his attic while spring cleaning right after Ash leaves for Sinnoh.

Ash’s father comes from a long long line of royalty in Kanto and Johto though it has dwindled down greatly over the years. Now without any real responsibility, there’s none but in Ash’s dads old journals he kinda infers that there are, all he has is the 30,000+ acre plot and the extensive amount of money that he’d given Delia in his will.

Again the property is over 30,00+ acres though it actually used to be a kingdom in the far past. Now given that the giant ass castle is where Ash lives now while the village ruins lay far in the forest surrounding the castle. Taken over by foliage and wild Pokémon. Said castle puts a lot of other castles across the world in shame by its size. Comparing it to the size of a real world castle, it’s about 1.3X the size of the Malbork castle.

It takes over 67.6 acres and is smack dab in the middle. It still, somehow miraculously through all this time, has a lot of the old furniture which get donated in a deal Ash makes with Lance and the head of the Kanto research and restoration museum later on. Obviously things need to be heavily fixed like the entire three wings of kitchens and the entire back part of the castle where the stables and on sight farm had been.

Oak had thought this was a perfect as Ash is slowly becoming more of an adult by each year and has greatly surpassed in adult hood already compared to his same aged peers that still live in Pallet Town. As well has it could teach him a lot more about his fathers side then he or Delia could ever tell him because Ash’s dad told them absolutely jack shit. This also solves another problem that both Oak and Delia didn’t really realize that Ash had been keeping from them and it was money.

Ash hadn’t inform them, and begged the league not to inform them, that he’d been receiving truck tons of cash for saving the world. He had tried to initially refuse the cash or at least most of it but the international league wasn’t having it. Stating that they had to give Ash back something because he had given himself and his team in aiding to the survival of each region over the incoming years.

Basically guilt tripped into keeping the money, Ash had created a new bank account, with the help of Lance and who ever was in the room, and the money was transferred there. Though he does come clean to Delia and Oak about the hidden account once Oak brings the property up gently with the help of Delia over a shared dinner at the Ketchum’s house.

The actual process takes over a year and isn’t done until Ash is about 1/3 through Kalos but strangely enough Gary had the most work out into the castle. He had come home with Ash after Sinnoh and while Ash was off challenging the Brain Gary, Oak, Lance, and a head representative of RARM - Restoration and Reforming Museum - and headed out to the very large property.

It was quickly concluded, after a two hour scouting flight with all of them around the entire boarder, that the destroyed Village in the dense forest would be left alone. As it was taken over quite a lot by foliage and Pokémon that it would only cause harm to the eco system to destroy or disturb it and that all their focus would be restoring the castle and the surrounding grounds.

This also solves another problem that initially Oak was having and thought that Ash and his Pokémon moving here would be beneficial for every party. Oak isn’t used to housing a trainers entire party. one or two yeah, five at the most sometimes, but not over fifty different species and verities. The Pokémon even helped everyone with the restoration of the building!

It didn’t help that Lance personally sought out to trick up the entire castle in the latest technology but still somehow keeping the Victorian theme. It was personally paid for by the international league as another thank you.

Ash visited the finished castle grounds when he comes to Kanto with his Kalosian friends, though he left them in Pallet town at Professor Oaks house stating he had some important family business to attend, and tried his best to familiarize just a tad with the new technology. Funnily enough his Pokémon took to it like Magikarp to water unlike Ash who still somewhat flounders to this day.

The grounds are welcomed to all and its not uncommon to see wild Pokémon respectfully helping themselves to the various items in the garden. Under keen eye from Ash’s Pokémon just incase an asshole decided to take more then they could eat for themselves. Even a mother Pokémon would use one of the various sheds in the back to nurse her babies when it gets particularly cold.

I’ll get into the interior and what’s actually in the castle in another post!
