Hello, everyone! The Satogou Week tumblr is back again this year!

As you know, Satogou Week runs from December 1 to December 7th... buuut, don't worry if you run out of time and post later in the month! What's important is having fun as a community!

Here's the version without filters. By the way I want to point out that the BG used in this fan art is a screenshoot from the show itself (ep 21). I only painted and edited the missing parts and added some filters.

so does anyone remember the fight they had when they went camping?

well in the English version he says : where through ash! (or something like that) but It sounded like he was breaking up with him ! 😭😭

like come on he felt like a tsundere idk whyyyy

and before he says the stars look nice like that awfully alot like : The moon looks nice wich is like a confession in Japan 😭 and ge said it while talking to ash

and even ash had his moments like the way he talks to him and acts around goh is kinda sus 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈👈

So yeah my little brother and I watched the two episodes and he said it felt like a romantic anime I watched with him 😂

I will never get over Pokémon Journeys. Holy hell that show was so good. Especially Ash and Goh, no matter if you see them as romantic or platonic they're just so adorable. The show isn't just Ash and his Journey with some friends number 8. It's so different in a really good way, not to mention how it's really focused on Satogou more than anything else. I could ramble on about my favorite moments of them forever but i gotta say just the way that they're always together, the way they're so in sync, the way the are always touching each other, the way Goh straight up fell on love with him on the rooftop in episode 2. Jesus Christ even Ash's mom ships them, as seen with her telling Goh to take care of Ash, also in episode 2, and of course the pictures of Satoshi and Goh she has in her house with the flowers. Fuckin love them I'm gonna cry

Pokémon Ultimate Journeys

P3:E42 “This Could Be the Start of Something Big!”

[dreamy music]

Ash and Goh are on riding on the back of Lugia, who is flying. Pokémon on both of their left shoulders. They admire the scenery below.

“Whoa!” The word comes out of Ash’s mouth as more of an exhale. Barely audible to the viewer.

“What a sight!” Goh exclaims with awe. Nearly a second passes before he continues. “Amazing!”

Ash’s eyes are staring off into the distance. When he hears these words spoken, for a second, his eyes are on Goh. Before returning to look elsewhere again, Ash agrees. Eye trained on Goh while doing so.

“Yeah!”

𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬:

Every frame of an animated show is important. Why else would an animator take the time to add it in? Therefore, this leads me to believe that Ash’s attention on Goh, when agreeing to what he said, holds significance.

Ash’s “Yeah” is saying that he too thinks the sight is amazing. Yet when saying this, he looked directly at Goh. Why? He was already looking at the scenery. They could have had him agree, not changing what his eyes were set on. The animators did not go that route though.

The way Ash’s attention was on Goh made me wonder if he was directing those compliments towards him. It can be viewed as either both or one of the pieces of dialogue spoken by Goh.

For those who aren’t a fan of the ship, I do believe that at the very least, this moment was Ash indirectly admitting to seeing Goh as awesome. Admiring how far he has grown from the beginning to the end of their shared journey. Lugia inducing nostalgia from when they first met.

For those who are fans of the ship, it can be taken as Ash referring to Goh as the amazing sight. Admiring how much of a good friend he is and/or possibly more. Ash’s lack of experience in this department means that even if he did feel something, he wouldn’t know what.

That is the end of my weird obsession with this scene that has popped up seemingly out of nowhere. Anyone who read this to its end, thank you! <3
