“Slithering in our grasp” Triple A (Asa, Akemi, and Amaya) and Keiichirou (@gingerall ‘s oc!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Well… Its been super long since I made a fanfic, hasn’t it? Not to mention I barely made a fanfic with someone else’s oc! After a long long time, I finally got to writing my OCs with @gingerall’s OC Keiichirou which takes place in one of his fics called Eden and its downfall. I really hope I did him justice for you! Also I’m really curious as to how he would react to my OCs, especially Akemi…👀👀👀
The Sakamaki manor’s atmosphere seemed to have changed over the past few days. Never mind its usual macabre atmosphere and the faint stench of death from corpses past present it the earth below.
No. That is not the case, it all started when the current sacrificial bride decided to bring another man into the manor’s doors, for a school project, apparently. It was a strange school project not even the sadistic triplets knew or even heard in class, that is if they even paid attention in class. “I swear on it, Reiji! There is no project! That bastard is playing with us!!” Ayato exclaimed, running his hands over his ruby red hair in frustration, clearly starting to doubt himself and his memories of school fogged over the random things he thought of during class: Takoyaki, basketball, big breasts, whatever.
Reiji removed his glasses to wipe them, “Like I said, it would be beneficial for her to learn from Mr. Seong, her grades have been slipping as of late this year.” He explains cooly as he pushes his glasses back on. Ayato looks over at his older brother angrily before storming off in a random direction. “Stupid Reiji! What is he trying to fucking pull here? How dare Chichinashi bring another guy in her room who isn’t Ore-sama?” Ayato grumbled as he stomps his way down the corridor, paying no mind to the expensive porcelain on display, the assortment of portraits of several people he didn’t give two shits about hanging on the walls with their black stares nor did he pay any mind to who was in front of his way, fumbling over his phone as Ayato bumped into him.
“Oi, watch where ya going, you idiot!” The youngest snarled, the grip around his phone tightened as he scolds his older narcissistic brother only to curse out again as his phone beeps, “Fuck! Why won’t she pick up? Come on, come on already…” Subaru groaned in frustration while dialing the number on his phone again, his ear pressed harshly at the recently cracked screen to hear the phone ring. “Hah? Says you! You’re blocking my way! Why the fuck are you on the phone for?!” Ayato questioned the youngest, grabbing the phone from his hand without warning to look at the screen. “Shut up, I’m trying the get that jerk out of here! Give me my phone back!” Subaru hollered as he tussled with Ayato over the cracked phone that was still ringing in his palm.
“Subaru! Whatcha calling me for? Me and the others are just about on our way back from shopping. Did you want anything? Snacks? Some trinkets for your emo outfits? I can ask the familiars to go shopping again if you want since we’re like, in the car so you have to send me a list.” A preppy voice calls out, filling the room and stopping the two vampires from their fight, emerald eyes widen in recognition at the sound of the girl’s voice from the phone. Ayato takes the chance to push Subaru away, “Oi! Give the phone to Ghost Eyes for fucks sake! It’s urgent!” Ayato demanded, pressing his ear against the phone harder in hopes of hearing the girl better through the low signal as Subaru tried to claw at him to retrieve his phone. “Huh? Did you want to talk to Asa? She’s busy now, working for your father, remember? It’s Thursday, her busiest day?” Amaya stated bluntly, her voice choppy over the phone, “Anyways, Me and Akemi are just about on our way back anyway, why are you so bossy with me Ayato? Where’s Subaru? Why do you have his phone?” Before Ayato could answer, Subaru finally snatched the phone out of the other vampire’s grasp. “YUI BROUGHT A SHADY FUCK OVER! HE’S IN HER ROOM RIGHT NOW!” Subaru yelled at the phone frantically, shaking his phone as the call went quiet.
After what felt like forever, the moment of silence finally broke, “What do you mean?!! How did this happen??” Another voice rings out, her voice grows pitchy and high with worry. “Akemi, wait! Don’t pull at the phone! I’ll put it on speaker right now!” Amaya urged, the sound of static and shuffling can be heard from the other side. Subaru’s face softened slightly, trying to calm himself down after his outrage, “So? When are you coming back? Are you nearby?” He asks carefully in hopes of calming the distressed girl as white noise rings out from the phone. “It’s just trees and more trees at this point. I’m not sure if we’re even halfway?” Akemi groaned in frustration, “Yesh, it's been like, what? Almost a century since we came here and we still live neck deep into the forest- WAIT A SECOND, I THINK I SEE THE MANOR ALREADY, HOLD ON-“ Amaya squealed over the phone, the sound of a door opening and a pair of footstep can be heard from outside and in the phone, Ayato and Subaru wasted no time to dash over to the manor’s doors and slammed them open, letting the two other vampires inside. “Subaru, Ayato! Please stay put while we go to her room, don’t do anything rash, got it?!” Akemi hollered, already making her way up the stairs with Amaya close by, trailing after her.
Panting. Amaya does her best to catch up to her sister, running as fast as her legs can carry her as Akemi turns to another corner, “Akemi! Wait up a moment! Come on! Slow down!” Amaya yelled frantically, reaching her hand out towards her sister’s hand, and clasping it between hers. “DON’T TOUCH ME!“ Akemi cried out, her breath hitched in shock, causing her to stop abruptly and almost fall to her knees as she looked at Amaya over her shoulder, eyes wide and alight with small flames flickering at her blond lashes. “Hah…Haah… haah… hah” Akemi panted, yanking Amaya's hands off hers as beads of sweat stuck to her bangs and face which had grown paler with worry. “Akemi…?” Amaya called out carefully, making sure she didn’t step too close to her sister’s space, panicked, fiery blue eyes never left hers until the licks of flames had dissipated. “Kemi… you good now...? … You know I didn’t mean to do that…” Amaya whispered, trying to find the courage to stretch her hand out for her sister to hold. Akemi pursed her lips together and shook her head to get herself together, “Yeah, I’m fine… thank you, Amaya.” she breathed out as she took her younger sister’s hand in hers to pull herself up on her feet. Amaya’s dark brows furrow at the blonde “You gotta stop pushing yourself when it comes to stuff like this, Kemi.” Akemi could only nod once as they made their way to Yui’s room, hands linked together, “Come on, that ‘shady guy’ might still be inside Yui’s room,” Amaya urged, tugging at Akemi’s hand as they slowly reached to Yui’s door to the vampires’ surprise, was slightly ajar.
Just open enough for the two to hear light laughter through the door.
“Really, Keiichirou-san, I’m so grateful for your help.” A familiar voice chimed from the open door; Akemi quickly peeked through the small gap to inspect further. She presses her hand against the door and the knob with the other, careful not to make the door move as she looks through the gap to find Yui perched on her bed, a genuine smile on her lips towards what Akemi can only guess to be the young man that Subaru mentioned over the phone, an enigmatic student that she never bothered to interact with until now. “Hey, please don’t say such things, sweetheart. Remember what I said earlier?” A deep voice rings out from the room, Akemi frowns but stays where she is to not alarm the culprit behind the door, “I appreciate you; I hope you won’t forget it, Yui.” Keiichirou states softly as he pulls the small blonde girl into his arms, hugging her so intimately that Amaya lets out a small gasp at the sight.
Taken aback, Akemi tears her eyes from the two humans before her to silence her younger sister, “H-hey! Don’t look at me like that! I didn’t know Yui had a crush of sorts!” Amaya whispered fiercely, waving her hands dramatically as she tried to contain her excitement. “Did you see those shoulders??? He must be the handsome type! Aren’t you curious to see his face, Kemi?” Amaya squeaks as she peers at the gap, trying to glimpse at the red-haired human’s face as she presses herself against Akemi’s back. “Amaya, hush. They’ll hear us, keep it down.” Akemi scolds her fangirling younger sister, gently pushing her away from the door. Letting out a huff, Akemi turns back to the door to keep her eye on Yui and this ‘Keiichirou’ man. Hoping he was too focused on Yui to notice them.
Until a pair of icy blue eyes met hers.
Akemi forced herself from flinching away from this man’s gaze, to stand her ground and wait for his next move as his red lashes fluttered toward Yui, “That’s strange, it seems like I’ve forgotten to close the door properly…” Keiichirou noted to himself out loud, causing Yui to jump slightly, “I-Is that so? I can go close it just in case…” she slowly stuttered out until Keiichirou lifted his hand to reassure her with an easy smile on his face, “No no, no need, I can do it. It would be worrying if someone was sticking their nose where shouldn’t be.” He laughed lightly as he sauntered his way toward the door, his eyes flickered toward Akemi’s as he flashed her a knowing smile, sending shivers down her spine. Akemi’s mind started racing, ‘If he opens the door and exposes us, Yui will depend on Keiichirou more… but I don’t want to leave her with him, in her bedroom of all places!’ the blonde vampire cursed under her breath at the thought as Keiichirou gets closer, his long fingers grazing against the doorknob.
Thinking quickly, Akemi knocks on the door.
Keiichirou cocks his head to the side, curious.
“Yui? Are you in your room? We just got back from the mall.” Akemi calls out, knocking again for good measure as she glares at the red-haired human through the gap. Keiichirou’s soft lips parted, his eyes never leaving Akemi’s, even as Yui brushed past him to open the door. “Akemi-san! Amaya-san! Welcome back.” Yui exclaimed, giving the two vampires a small polite smile as Amaya pulled Yui into a tight hug, “It’s good to be back, you must have been lonely, haven’t you? Who’s your friend over there, hm?” Amaya hummed with a smile spread on her lips as she looked over to the red-haired human with questioning eyes. “Seong, Keiichirou Seong, pleased to meet you. I came here to help Yui on a school project.” he introduces himself, holding his hand out as he gives both vampires his best genuine smile. Akemi purses her pink lips as she takes Keiichirou’s hand in hers, shaking it firmly, “Pleased to meet you… I’m Akemi Sakamaki, this is my younger sister Amaya.” Akemi explained, pointing at her younger sister who gave Keiichirou a small wave, “Um… thank you for helping Yui out with the project while we were out. We were kinda busy.” Amaya mumbled, twirling her long black hair between her fingers. “Haha, it wasn’t too bad. We just finished it just about now.” Keiichirou laughs as he pulls out his phone to look at the time, “Oh dear, would you look at the time? I’m sorry about this but I need to call my driver to take me back home. It's such a shame, I would have liked to talk to you more.” Keiichirou lets out a sigh, feigning disappointment as his eyes find his way to Akemi once more, who only gives him a small, exasperated huff. "Well, it's quite late now, after all, I’m sure you have other places to be.” Akemi waves a dismissive hand as she lightly pushes at the boy’s wide back towards the other side of the door.
“Well then, farewell, Keiichirou Seong.”
Before Keiichirou could turn around, the door shuts in his face, leaving him alone to stare and huff in annoyance at the polished wood. On the other side of the door, Akemi turns her head towards the sacrificial bride, her delicate features now twisted in fear. “Akemi-san… why did you do that?” Yui asked quietly, “It’s all my fault, he didn’t do anything wrong, I promise…” She stuttered before the two vampires, her hands shaking as warm hands enveloped hers. “No… no, it's nothing like that, I promise. We were just worried” Akemi hushes, squeezing the human’s hands gently. Yui’s pink eyes cast down to the floor, her blonde bangs hiding her frown, “… But he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. He treats me like I’m… normal…” Yui pressed firmly, her lips trembling as she tried to bite back her grief. Amaya’s face softens at the sight and places her hand on the girl’s shoulders, “Hey, come on, Yui. I know that your situation is not… Ideal in any way but if this keeps happening, you and this guy could get into big trouble if this continues…” Amaya murmured, trying not to wince at the sight of Yui’s expression growing more detached as she tried to reason with her.
“… I’m grateful for your concern but can I be alone for a while…? I’m kind of tired.” Yui mumbled quietly, retreating herself away from Amaya’s grasp, “I’ll be sure to think about it… I’m not sure if he even knows that both of you are vampires.” Akemi eyes widen at the human’s words as Amaya lets out a soft gasp, “O…ok, we can leave right now… see you later?” Amaya stuttered, unsure what to do but her feet were already making their way out of the human’s room. “That didn’t go well…” Akemi sighed, combing through her blond curls in frustration as they walk down the manor’s hallway, “No shit, we sounded like assholes to her.” Amaya groaned in return, thinking back at her words and Yui’s crestfallen face, “…Maybe they should at least hang out in school in between classes? Keiichirou seems nice?”. Akemi shook her head, looking over the large window of the manor, catching a glimpse of Keiichirou leaning against the gate, “I don’t know, he seems a little off to me.” She frowns at the thought, watching the young man’s red hair get blown in the cold night’s wind with a faint line of smoke emitting where his soft lips should be. Akemi crinkles her nose at the pseudo-scent of cigarette smoke filling her nostrils, she shakes her head at the memories filling her head, rubbing her hands together, dissipating the small blue embers in between. Even after all the years of practicing, old habit seems to die hard.
“Keiichirou Seong… just what is he planning to do?”

ruki--mukami · 1 year
Note
On Halloween night, a cluster of midnight black butterflies flew to the Mukami Manor in search of the eldest of the family. Catching the sight of dark hair, the butterflies flew to Ruki and landed on his palm revealing a white envelope amidst the delicate black wings. On the back of the envelope read “From Amaya to Ruki”, a faint scent of perfume wafted on the envelope, it smelled of the lily of the valley and musky wood.
The letter says the following:
Dear Ruki,
Happy Halloween! Or should I say, “All Hallows?” The moon looks like a Cheshire smile tonight, and I am writing to you from the Sakamaki Manor, which is as ‘lively’ as ever.
My sisters and the others tried to bond over pumpkin carving, and I think it is going well for the most part. I think I saw Subaru trying to feed… no, more like trying to gag Laito with pumpkin guts because he wouldn’t stop teasing him.
What a shame that I and my sisters couldn’t greet you in costume this year, I was almost tempted to borrow one of Akemi’s white dresses and put a ribbon over my eyes to create a ghost costume of sorts… although I would have looked more like a damsel in distress if I did do that.
That reminds me, you didn’t meet Asa, my eldest sister, is that right? Well, she managed to get out first and couldn’t come back for us. Oh, don’t worry, all three of us were able to go back home safely.
Asa had to go and visit the cemetery this year, she plays the violin as Shu does, did you know that? Maybe one day you can hear Asa play the violin while Akemi plays the piano. As for me… I guess I could sing a song?
Besides that, I do hope you’re enjoying Sweet Bean Paste! I hope to show you more books in the future when we meet again. In school perhaps? Do take care, and I hope you and your brothers have a safe Halloween.
Sincerely,
Amaya Sakamaki
The moment Ruki was about to see the postscript of the letter, he hears the violin playing, the sound was coming from the dark woods across the Mukami manor.
In the distance, the forest cast a faint glow despite the lack of moonlight, the eerie icy blue glow glazed against the leaves. Slowly, the light glowed brighter as the music from the violin played faster, faint screams could be heard in the distance, and the screams were distorted and echoey and accompanied by the violin’s melody.
Confused, Ruki looked at Amaya’s letter in hopes of an answer and read the postscript.
P.S. If you see glowing blue light in the forest with Paganini playing on the violin, that’s most likely my sister, I don’t recommend going near her as of now.
https://youtu.be/oY9Dg-OlA3E (for reference, this is what Asa was playing haha)
A/N: Happy Halloween to you! I hope you have a wonderful time at this spooky time of the year. Congrats once again on finally being free from the shadowban!!
"—?! Butterflies…? These aren't just any insects. They're quite beautiful, in fact, almost too alluring to just be an ordinary sight found in nature. I can only assume this is someone's doing—" he glanced down at the name of the sender, "—ah. That makes sense… Amaya. To what do I owe the pleasure of receiving this, I've no idea. But I suppose she has her reasons for mailing me instead of approaching me outright."
Unraveling the contents of the envelope with a delicate grip, he carefully lifted the flap to reveal the parchment in its welcoming aroma. How considerate, he thought. The letter boasted a fragrant lily of the valley and musky note, much to his pleasure. Not like the eldest Mukami was one to sniff every letter that came his way, but one could easily smell the inviting scent emanating from it.
"Oh, I see. A Halloween letter… Interesting. The idea of Vampires exchanging mail back and forth on the night of such a frivolous human tradition must be what all of those mortals dream of in their fantasy books and nonsensical fiction, but I do appreciate the gesture. I can't imagine what those Sakamakis must be doing for Amaya to put 'lively' in quotation marks as she did, but I digress."
Steel-blue hues scanned further down the message, reading about the pumpkin carving attempts. A slight chuckle in disbelief slipped past his lips at the image of Subaru unleashing his rage through a failed suffocation attempt on the skirt chaser known as Laito. Aside from that, he found himself wondering what kind of designs they would choose for their pumpkins and how intricate they would be. Would the sisters carve bats, witches, a typical jack-o-lantern face? Who knew.
"A white dress, huh. Given Amaya's looks, people might mistake her for Sadako. It's been quite some time since I last read that series... I suppose it'd make for a fine Halloween costume, but I can see why she wouldn't want to be seen as a damsel in distress. Vampires are anything but that."
The eldest continued to read, eyes lingering on the name 'Asa.' Although his meeting with Akemi was brief, he wondered what kind of eldest sibling Asa was towards her younger two sisters. Was she similar to himself, strict and protective? Or did she take a more laid-back approach like Shu? Curiosity suffused him just at the thought.
"Oh, it seems they're musically sophisticated. I didn't take Amaya for the singing type whatsoever, though it's definitely not a topic that arises easily in just any conversation. I look forward to seeing what kind of lovely melody she is able to carry with her voice."
Tumblr media
Upon being reminded of the book she lent out to him during that dreaded night, Sweet Bean Paste, he reminisced on its compelling story. Of course, the Vampire had already finished reading it. Not only was the novel short, but also the language was easy to comprehend and speed through. However, simplicity aside, he found the story itself rather enlightening.
Three companions, all shedding light on the plight of the disabled in Japan. Those who suffered from Hansen's disease still faced discrimination and isolation even long after being cured, which Ruki found curious to say the least. The food of sweet bean paste itself stood out as a metaphor for how people's determination and hard work shows in their results as Tokue's cooking outshined that of the less motivated Sentaro and his crippling debt.
Perhaps this was Amaya's way of trying to indirectly tell him to think of their relationship as more than just transactional as Ruki always did.
"It's very atypical of what I usually read, but yes. I should tell her about it when we meet at school. Even simple reads such as this one are enjoyable every now and then," the Vampire admitted to himself. "Prejudice often dictates the meaning we assign to our lives. I learned that lesson in my youth, yet this book only reaffirms that revelation."
Before he could read the postscript, a cacophony of shrieks and violin among the chaos caught his attention. The ominous azure glow from the forest illuminated an otherwise pitch-black surrounding. How fitting for Halloween, yet the screams indicated to Ruki that it was more than just some intimidated trick-or-treaters.
"What is the meaning of this...?"
Following the sound of the violin's cadenza, he headed towards the woods, unaware of the foreboding message in hand until he stood at the forest's entrance. When he finished reading the letter, realization clicked.
"So, this is Asa's doing, then. Even though Amaya warned me to keep my distance, I cannot help but wonder what's transpiring at the heart of this forest. Especially on a night dedicated to frights and thrills for humans," he sighed. "Perhaps she's luring in prey of some sorts to quench her thirst around this time—or something else that I haven't considered that's possibly linked to her reason for visiting the cemetery. Rarely ever do Vampires honor the memory of those who have passed, so why...? And why Paganini in particular?"
The eldest found himself with a plethora of unanswered questions.
"Paganini was accused of selling his soul to the Devil for how remarkable his violin skills were, so it's possible she's forging a contract this very moment. Humans essentially forsake their soul alongside their blood once they yield to us."
Turning around from the forest, Ruki folded the letter and placed it back inside the envelope to safeguard it.
"Or perhaps she is the Devil herself."

🧩 Ahh, thank you so much, Happy Halloween in advance to you as well! I ended up listening to the song for the whole duration of writing this answer so thank you for that, haha. It's great that we are both finally out of the shadowbanned realm and back in business. 😩 🧩

Você poderia fazer uma headcannon sobre como os Sakamakis e os Mukamis reagiriam caso descobrissem que suas respectivas noivas são (na verdade) híbridos de humano com demônio? Bjos ♡ ♡ ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
₊˚.❰❪↷ — oiiiee ♡ (deculpa a demora ;;) confesso que eu dei uma empacada na hora de escrever sobre os personagens que eu não tenho tanta afinidade cof cof kanato e kou cof cof. Espero que goste ^^
Sakamakis
Tumblr media Tumblr media

1.- Would you rather wear Carla’s Scarf or Shin’s eyepatch?
Carla’s scarf because I tried wearing an eye-patch once for a costume and I only lasted like 10 minutes because it made me feel dizzy XD (how I’m going to manage when I finally get all of my Shin cosplay together, I don’t know).
2.- Which moments has been the most shocking to you? (Game, Manga, CD Drama, Stage Play, Anime)
To be honest I think the fifth track of Shin’s More, More Blood CD shocked me the most because I just really didn’t see it coming >_> I’m not going to spoil it here but yeah... Also I think Kanato’s HDB ending two where Yui murders all of the other Sakamaki brothers is pretty shocking.
3.- Have you had a Diaboy whom you hated (or had very little interest) and now you love him?
While I didn’t hate him, Carla did scare the absolute crap out of me for a while and I didn’t want to be anywhere near him (this is mainly because my introduction to him was the Carla vs Shin Versus II CD in which he straight up impales Shin through the chest then chokes and threatens to kill you within I think about 10 minutes of his introduction...). Once I got to know more about his character, I understood why he is the way he is and realized I could actually relate to him quite a lot and now he’s my second favourite.
4.- Which moments (Game, Manga, etc) has made you laugh the most?
Oh man DL has some great funny moments. I think maybe Shin’s More, More Blood bonus CD featuring Asa the hamster is the one that made me laugh the most though because it’s so funny and cute (I ramble about it in this post).
The drama CD where they search for socks is also very funny.
5.- Which moments has made you cry the most?
I’m more likely to cry because I find something touching than because I’m sad, so I think the scene that made me cry the most is actually the last track in Shin’s BTD CD. It’s just so soft that my heart can’t really handle it...
The scene between Carla and Shin in Shin’s LE vampire ending also gets to me quite a lot.
6.-Which moments has been the scariest for you?
KANATO’S HDB ENDING 3, HOLY CRAP. There are quite a lot of scary moments in DL but there’s something so horrifying to me about the idea of Kanato trapping Yui’s soul in a teddy bear that I can’t even...
Also while it’s not scary I think Subaru’s LE brute ending deserves a mention here because it’s so messed up >_>
7.- Which moments has made you the angriest?
Anytime a character in the games is a dick to Shin. There are three moments that have had me yelling at my console and these are (warning, spoilers ahead):
- Shin’s DF manservant ending when Richter makes Shin kneel at his feet and then what he does afterwards... (I remember very specifically internally willing Shin to spit on Richter’s shoes, I got so mad).
- Carla’s LE ecstasy epilogue when Kino sneaks into Shin’s room with a bunch of the ghouls and attacks him. I was mad at Kino for quite a while over this... (even though I know Shin has done worse so it’s very hypocritical but... eh...).
- When Carla whips Shin in Shin’s CL route. Again, I remember really strongly wishing for the option to get Yui to throw her shoe at Carla because I got so upset (Shin sounded like he was in so much pain >_>).
I also got fairly mad at portrait!Shin in Shin’s Zero CD... so I guess I really do just get mad when characters are mean to my boy X’D
8.- Would you like to be a student at their nocturnal school? Would you stalk/see what the Diaboys are up to? Who? (Only pick 3 diaboys!)
I think going to a nocturnal school would suit me as I’m almost nocturnal as it is when I can get away with it >_> I don’t think I would try to see what the diaboys were up to as I’d be too worried about getting caught and then trying to explain why I was spying on them ^^;;
9.- Have you had any DL Dreams? if so… Tell us your favorite or your most recent~!
I haven’t had any recently but I did have one dream where I got to ride on Shin in his wolf form which was pretty cool ^^
10.- Is there something/habit a diaboy does that bothers/annoys you?
Hmm... I mean I don’t really like it when Ruki calls you/Yui “livestock”. I know that’s his nickname and it’s not like the other guys’ nicknames are nice either but idk, I just don’t like it :/ (I’m also not a fan of “sow” either...).
11.- Is there something/habit a diaboy does that makes your heart flutter/melt?
Nearly everything Shin does? Okay but Shin’s laughter when you tickle him always makes me melt ♡^▽^♡
I’m going to tag @sleeping-platinum, @akumacaron, @bloody-croissant and @dlgenderbend (sorry if any of you have done this already).

— (s/n)? — chamou, entrando no quarto. — S-sim? Você segurou as flores e as cheirou delicadamente.

10. top 5 characters you would die for 11. worst 5 characters
Yay ! Thanks for asking Anon (and sorry for the late reply… lazyness took over me)
10) top 5 characters you would die for : Honestly ? No one. Okay, I may sound terrible and may look like an horrible person but I won’t die for no one, expect my mom and brother maybe ^^ but in a non-serious way, I’ll say :
- Tsunemori Akane (PSYCHO-PASS)
- Hinazuki Kayo (ERASED)
- Sakamaki Reiji (DIABOLIK LOVERS) or maybe that’s my OC who will sacrifice herself for him
- Nagakura Shinpachi (HAKUOUKI)
- Twelve and Nine (ZANKYOU NO TERROR)
11) worst 5 characters : it depends ? In which way, like the one I hate because of their personality or the one I hate because they’re useless and have no characterisation? I honestly don’t know…
- Gasai Yuno (Mirai Nikki) okay, I just want to say that I didn’t watch Mirai Nikki or read the manga, I know the story and the big lines and I really desliked it.
- Sakamaki Kanato (DIABOLIK LOVERS) I think I have big problems with yandere in general.
- Big-Mom (ONE PIECE). Yes, I think she is a really bad character. She may be strong, but that’s the only thing about her.
- Asa Shigure (SHUFFLE!) I only watched the anime when I was in middle school. I hated her and I still think that she has no personality. (KAEDE MY BABY)
I honestly can’t find others. I wanted to add Iba Hachiro but I think I’ll try redoing his route and have a definite opinion on him. It’s really hard to do chose 5 worst characters in anime because there are characters which I hate the personality but are needed and serves the story (Light Kagami, Mika Shimotsuki, Nagumo Kaoru and I could go on)

A Century Without You (TRIPLE A BIRTHDAY SPECIAL!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: I… I think this is the biggest fic I have ever created… But still, it’s so worth it. To everyone who stayed and listened to my stories, to my mutuals, thank you from the bottom of my heart. So please enjoy my fanfic! ✨✨✨
August 22, 1940
It was rowdier in the manor that day, even when the sun and its overwhelming August heat were now long gone and replaced with the warm breeze now that night has fallen. Groaning in irritation, Ayato kicks his feet up on the couch and scratches at his red locks. "Damn it, why is it still hot?" he complains, sweat still clinging to his back as he tries to soothe his dry throat. His eyes find the blond vampire with her back facing him, swinging a pair of shoes in her hand. "Oi, you! Yeah, you! Make takoyaki for Ore-sama! "Ayato yelled out, he can recall that two of those girls had the same hair color as Shu, yet even after those three were taken in by that Old Fart, he never bothered with their names and just stuck with whatever he called them in his head.
Well, if he can differentiate between the blond ones, that is.
The blond vampire turned her head to face Ayato."...What?" she asked, a mixture of confusion and annoyance lacing around her voice. "Oh! So, you finally came out of your room today, Shut-In? Make me takoyaki!" Ayato hooted, not moving an inch from the couch he lays on. Akemi could only narrow her eyes, clearly exasperated by his behavior. "What on earth would you think that I know how to make takoyaki? I don't even know what that takoyaki is."
Ayato clicked his tongue, annoyed at Akemi's avoidance. "Tch, then get Crazy Eyes to make me takoyaki! She's the one who can cook, right? Oi! Don't ignore me!" The red-headed vampire raises himself from the couch, making his way to follow Akemi. "Go away, Ayato." she hissed, her eyes finally glowing an intense shade of blue. "You don't get to boss me around, Shut In!" Ayato claimed, grabbing Akemi's wrist, "You better make it up to me for wasting my time, so give me your blood." Akemi glared at him in disbelief, "MY GODS, what's with you and why can't you take no for an answer?" Akemi shouted, already feeling her blood boil, literally.
"Haha! So that Four-Eyes was right all this time! Your blood can get hotter! It actually smells good from far away... You might as well be Ore-sama's!" Ayato laughed in wonder, tightening his grip around Akemi's wrist, making her yelp. Before Ayato could bring Akemi closer, a familiar voice rings in the hallways with no one to be seen. "Ore-sama this, Ore-sama that, you get on my nerves." Ayato clicks his tongue in annoyance, "Tch, always ruining my fun. Oi Subaru, I know that it's you! Come out!" Akemi’s eyes lit up at the sound of the youngest’s voice as she takes her chance to escape and run away from Ayato, much to his dismay.
Not getting a chance to grumble at his failed attempt on finding food, Subaru finally shows himself and pushes Ayato against the wall, “What the hell were you going to do to her?” he grunted, his knuckles growing white when he digs his hands into Ayato’s shoulders. “Heh, why do you care so much? That was none of your business!" Ayato snarked, baring his fangs against the younger vampire. The red-headed vampire grunted and pushed his younger brother off him, "Fine, whatever, you just had to ruin the mood. Go run after her for all I care." Ayato huffed in frustration, shoving his hands deep into his pockets as he stomped away, leaving Subaru alone in the hallway.
"Tch, not again..." Subaru muttered under his breath after his eyes shifted to the painted wall, he pinned Ayato to, now covered in cracks from the impact caused by the youngest's strength. Yet the fact that Reiji will scold him about how that wall needs a new paint job didn't scare him as Subaru finally looked around and realize the blonde vampire he just rescued was nowhere in sight. "Shit... Shit! Where the fuck did she run off to?" he asked himself, starting to rush down the stairs to that one place where she would most likely go to find some sort of peace.
That place where laid his eyes on her for the first time.
From then on, he found himself running back to her, calling her again and again...
"AKEMI!"
"OI AKEMI!"
"AKEMI, WHERE ARE YOU?"
After minutes of running around the garden, calling out to Akemi, Subaru finally found her making her way into the forest behind the garden, jumping over the bushes and throwing her shoes behind. "The fuck are you going? Are you trying to get yourself hurt again? Hey!" the younger vampire yelled, grabbing the pair of shoes that were left behind and crossing over the rose bushes, his eyes not leaving her silhouette as branches snap under his leather boots. "Why are you following me too? I just want to go outside!" Akemi asked as she hopped onto a recently fallen log, putting her barefoot in front of the other like a balancing act. "What are you trying to do? You know you can't run away from here!" Subaru yelled, finally catching up to Akemi to reach out for her hand only for her to pull away from his grasp, causing her to almost fall off the log until she regained her balance.
Just as Subaru was about to scold her again, Akemi placed both her hands on his shoulder to support herself, the log giving her enough inches to tower him. "Relax, running away from good food and a soft bed is not a good idea to begin with." Akemi frowned, letting go of Subaru’s broad shoulder and pulling her long dress to her knees as she lands back on the grass. "I just want to go out, I remember there was a lake nearby and wanted to confirm. Let a girl explore." After having his question answered, Subaru only let out a huff, putting his hands in his pockets, "Fine, but don't blame me if you get hurt or anything. I won't carry you back." Akemi scratched her nose at him. "Yes, sure, could I have my shoes back? Or are you going to keep holding it?" she asked, noticing her shoes in Subaru's hands, he grunts and throws them back to her waiting for her to lace them up before they continued walking to the lake.
The pair stayed silent for the most part, aside from the younger's complaints and the blonde’s cool replies, the atmosphere around them felt calm and almost peaceful. Perhaps it's because they were far from the other brothers? It did not take long for Subaru to break the silence again, "Why did you leave now of all times? You barely left your room in the beginning." Akemi let out a hum, seemingly lost in thought as she picks up the stones off the ground. "Well... It's still summer here, right? What day is it today? August 22, right?" Subaru's brows furrowed. "What about it?" Akemi gave Subaru a small smile, a moment of silence filled the forest around them. Akemi tries to make the small stones in her fingers skip across the water to no avail.
"It's going to be our birthday in two days," said Akemi, those words tasted so sweet in her mouth.
Our birthday. Not mine. Ours.
Subaru could feel his undead heart drop to his stomach, the gears in his head finally understanding what Akemi meant "Ours? Y... You never told me..." Akemi just shrugged, seeming apathetic about her birth. "Both of my sisters were still being found, I didn't know if they were dead or not... It never felt right to celebrate without them too... so I never told any of you," she whispered, hugging her knees, and placing her chin on top, hiding her face from the youngest and he watched her intently.
The pair did not visit that subject again, even as they walked back to the manor.
-----------------
"Of course, I know about their birthdays, why are you telling me this of all times?" Reiji asked, sorting through the tubes in his lap. Subaru huffs as he gets up from the chair. “Hah? How?” Subaru asked, restraining himself from smacking the tubes away from Reiji’s hands. “The new one told me while I was tutoring her, Amaya,” Reiji recalled, her Japanese was still broken, still resorting to hand gestures to talk to him, a habit he will need to break as soon as possible. Before Subaru could talk again, Reiji intervened, "If you are so worried about the celebration, I have already prepared a list of what to do for the occasion" he explained carefully, pulling his gloves off as he makes his way to the sink, and starts washing his hands vigorously. 'How the fuck did he make preparations? We don't even have a week to pull this off.' Subaru thinks to himself, knowing he only found out about their birthdays just recently. “As much as this needs to be fully elaborated, we should put this conversation aside for now. We will discuss it later after we gather everyone, is that clear?” Reiji asked Subaru, watching the youngest who only crossed his arms. "... Fine," Subaru muttered as he slammed the door behind him.
Reiji pushes his glasses back up, his hands now dried, "Good grief... where to start?" he sighs, finally letting the triplets' birthday dawn on him, and realizing he may not know where to begin. He knew that the manor housed many mortal girls and very few had the chance to celebrate their birthday once, he even recalls the many times his father told him and his brothers to attend balls and parties in the Demon World to entertain vampire nobles and ladies for many occasions. Despite all of this, Reiji still wonders if the girls follow the customs of the Demon World or have long adapted to human customs. "Hmph, it seems this will be more difficult than it seems," Reiji confirms to himself, pulling a new pair of gloves over his hands as he makes his way downstairs. After all, a birthday party cannot be planned by itself.
"So, I have gathered you all today for important news." Reiji starts, already eyeing his good-for-nothing brothers who seemed distracted except for Subaru who seemed the most interested, which surprised him. "Tch, what is it now? Is there a new bride coming or something?" Ayato asks, leaning against the chair, already feeling impatient. "It must be, I won't forgive you if you're lying to me and Teddy." Kanato cried, hugging his stuffed bear closer as Laito let out a laugh. "Aw, come on everyone, it's Reiji we're talking about, it must be suuuper serious, right? ~" Instead of snapping at his brothers, Subaru remained quiet until he couldn't help it. "It's Akemi's birthday next week..." Subaru explained before Reiji could announce the news, causing everyone's eyes to be on him at the sudden revelation, the youngest feels his face grow hot. "I…It's also Asa's and Amaya's... they're triplets like you three..." Subaru added, turning his face away from his brothers.
“Hah? Them? Triplets like us? Impossible!!” Ayato exclaimed, slamming his hands on the coffee table. On the couch, the eldest Sakamaki sighs, combing through his blonde locks, “It’s not impossible, triplets are just rarer than twins. Honesty, you can’t seem to understand something so simple.” Shu muttered, annoyed at the sudden outburst. Feeling a migraine coming, Reiji inches between in brow in hopes of alleviating the pain, “Yes, as you all know thanks to Subaru, Asa, Akemi, and Amaya are triplets, and their birthday is coming next week. Hence why I had to exclude them, for now, to inform you beforehand.” He elaborated.
Laito perks up at the news while a shadow looms over Kanato’s face as he tightens his hold on Teddy, “Ehhh~ Now this is interesting news after all! Three pretty ladies sharing the same birthday~” he exclaimed, clapping his hands in delight. “Oi, don’t think about anything funny, you pervert!” Subaru snapped, his fist colliding against the wall. “Now calm down, Subaru, I know how much you love playing The White Knight when you’re with lil Pretty Akemi, but I thought that we as brothers could make their first birthday here more special by making this a surprise? Fufu~” Laito chucked, not missing a beat, and catching the youngest's attention with his idea. "... I suppose that we can follow Laito's idea for the triplets' first birthday together." Reiji hums in approval as he adjusts his glasses, "So for our itinerary, we will follow human customs for their birthday, which means we will need to prepare decorations, cake, and their gifts. Does anyone have any ideas on where to host the event?" Reiji asks his brothers.
"I will not allow them to go to my doll room!!" Kanato yells as his grip on Teddy tightens. "THAT WOMAN HAS THE NERVE TO BOSS ME AROUND AND DOES WHATEVER SHE PLEASES YET FATHER DID NOT PUNISH HER ONCE." he wailed, fat tears rolling down his round cheeks. Now awake from Kanato's tantrums, the eldest sits up from the couch, "How bothersome... just host it in the garden or something. They would like flowers, won't they?" Shu sighs as he rubs his ears. "No way! The food will get cold and blown away and shit! Let's just do it in the dining area, Ore-sama will show them the wonders of Takoyaki!" Ayato protested. Subaru can feel his jaw tighten as he clenches his teeth, "Shut up! That's just something you want to eat! Stop acting like it's your birthday." he snaps, stomping towards the red-headed vampire.
Before Ayato could snap back, Reiji claps his hands together "Settle down everyone, we must make the most out of the ample time we have before the occasion." Subaru let out a huff in frustration but let himself back down... for now. "Okay then, so here's the plan as of now, I will handle the decorations in the dining room, Kanato, and Ayato, I will give you a list of ingredients of what to buy during the weekend as well as instructions on how to prepare them. I will handle the decorations and tableware in the dining room. As for the rest... I suppose you can gain insight on what kinds of gifts to give them." Reiji suggests, his eyes glaring daggers at the eldest who somehow found sleep again, "And Shu, you better help on your part, these girls are not just any vampires picked off the streets, they are our cousins from our mother's side, taken in by Father himself. So do us a favor and stop being a good-for-nothing starting now." Awaken once more, the looks over at his younger brother, still unphased by his endless disdain towards him.
"It can't be helped, can't it... Pwahhh, what a pain..."

August 23, 1940, 7:00 PM
When Reiji calls everyone down for dinner, Amaya darts her eyes around the table, looking over at the brothers’ expressions. ‘Despite everyone behaving the same as usual, the air around them seemed to have changed’ she ponders over the thought as she munches on her fish. Unable to contain her curiosity, she reaches towards her eldest sister, “Alice- I mean… Asa, do you think the brothers are acting weird?” Amaya asks in Romanian as she tugs at her sleeve. “They’re an odd bunch, but I’m not sure I’m following your train of thought,” Asa replies, also in Romanian, looking over at Ayato who was poking his food around, clearly not feeling an appetite over the tuna on his plate. Amaya’s brows furrowed, “Are you sure? They- “
“Miss Amaya, it is impolite to talk while others are still eating.” Reiji cuts Amaya off as he places his cup down on the saucer, causing Amaya to jump up from her seat, “Also, might I remind you we are residing in Japan, do try and speak Japanese outside our lessons. No one else will speak in Romanian to you.” he adds before going back to eating. “Okay…” Amaya mutters as she grabs her fork, staring over at the sausages far from her grasp. The black-haired vampire stretches her neck forward, noticing the sausages were in Shu’s direction. “Shu… Shu…” Amaya called out, her voice loud enough to make the sleeping vampire stir in his sleep.
Eventually, after Amaya's insistent calls, the eldest opened his eyes, "Mmn, what is it?" he asks, "The sausage..." Amaya whispers, pointing at the platter near him.  The blonde's brows furrow in confusion, still not fully awake, "Cârnat... you want the carrots?" Shu mutters groggily, pushing the plate of vegetables towards Amaya who only looked at the plate in shock and confusion. "No no no, sausage..." she asks once more, only for her pleas to fall short, "Here, get what you want." Shu yawned, already closing his eyes once more to drift off to sleep leaving Amaya pouting at her dilemma.
The predicament did not go unnoticed, “It’s the sausage, right?” Akemi asks her younger sister sitting across from her, Amaya nods aggressively at her sister’s question. Akemi furrowed her brow at the vampire sitting next to her, his auburn hair already setting her off as she taps at his shoulder, “Laito… the sausages please…” she grimaced as she watches a smirk stretch across Laito’s face, “Oh~ Mademoiselle, I thought you never ask, here you go~“Laito purrs as he drags the platter to her direction, Akemi forces  herself to smile, “Thank you.” She grumbles as she gets hold of the plate, tempted to tear Laito’s bony fingers off her hand as he attempts to intertwine their fingers together.
Akemi takes a deep breath, trying to alleviate her anger, “Amaya, here, get what you want.” She sighs, letting herself smile for a moment to see her sister’s happy face, still somehow in disbelief that it’s been months since Amaya arrived, that she’s still sitting across her, alive. Asa shoots a worried glance, Akemi can already hear her sister trying to say, ‘Are you okay?’ from her frown as she waves her off, plastering a bigger smile to lift her eldest sister’s worries. “Maybe later? After we’re done eating?” Akemi whispers, Asa gives her another glance before she nods, and goes back to eating, leaving the clinking of utensils to fill the silence.
-----------------
“You will not sit next to Laito under any circumstances. Ever. Again.” Asa declares as she paces around, the clacking of her heeled boots echoes in Akemi’s bedroom. “… It wasn’t as bad as last time. It’s getting a bit better.” Akemi sighs, holding Amaya close in her arms as they sit at the foot of the bed, watching them both, painfully oblivious to what her older sisters were discussing.  Asa stops in her tracks to face Akemi, "Absolutely not, I will ask Reiji about the seating assignments and make sure none of us are too close to the triplets." she refutes, finally letting herself sit on an armchair, "Oh... Why must this happen? I know me and Kanato don't see eye to eye but then I hear what Ayato and Laito did to you, and it was only today? To think you spend five years like this and I wasn't around-" Akemi frowns at her eldest' sister, not wanting to meet her eyes, "Okay, okay, we will address this to Reiji another time, he's been busy lately." Akemi concedes as she lets Amaya leave her grasp, letting herself make herself at home in Akemi's bed. "Do you think they're planning to do something cool for our birthday? It’s tomorrow now." Amaya asks her sisters in Romanian as she rolls around in bed.
Akemi's eyes widen at Amaya's question, "I'm not exactly sure if they're even planning for our birthday in the first place." she ponders to herself, making sure Amaya doesn't fall off her bed from rolling around. "Besides, even if they're preparing to celebrate, I would rather do the cooking. I can't imagine them in the kitchen at all, they might as well blow up the entire everything inside to pieces." Asa adds, shaking her head at the thought of even Ayato in the kitchen, that alone seems impossible. "Hmm, I guess we can plan our birthday? Should we? It's been too long." Amaya asks her sisters again, the determined look in her eyes did not escape her sisters' eyes.
Asa gave her a smile in return, "I suppose so? Well, we will only need a cake, won't we?" she questioned as she gets up from the armchair to sit beside her sisters. "Is there any flavor you both want for tomorrow?"
-----------------
August 24, 1940, 4:00PM
“Would you lot behave for once? Is it so hard to mix both dry and wet ingredients?” Reiji exclaims, beholding a horrifying sight. The once spotless kitchen was now covered in a mixture of batter, flour, and broken eggs. “I ain’t doing this on purpose, ya know! Oi! Kanato put that damn bear down for fucks sake!” Ayato hollered at the purple-haired vampire who only glared at him, “Shut up! You don’t get to boss me around! You’re going to soil Teddy’s vest.” Kanato snapped, almost tearing Teddy’s head off from the commotion. “Oi! What the hell is going on there?!” The youngest shouts as he makes his way into the kitchen, holding several gift boxes in his hands towering over his head, “Uwah, what a mess, take the rest of the gifts, Subaru-kun, place the gifts somewhere safe. I feel like this cake is almost beyond saving.” Laito exclaims, tossing the bags in his arms in Subaru’s direction.
“Ahh?! The fuck do you think you’re doing?! Laito, come back here!!” Subaru shouted to no avail as Laito makes his way to the kitchen, not listening to the youngest. Left with no choice, Subaru slowly makes his way to the dining hall and lets out a breath of relief as he plops all the gifts down on the dining table. “Che, those assholes… making me carry all this… Shit, is ‘that gift’ okay?” he frantically sorts through the gifts, trying to remember which gift belongs to whom until he found a small box that he remembers picking while he and Laito looked around. “Phew… it didn’t break…” Subaru sighs in relief, as he opens the small box, tracing his fingers at its contents. “… Pwaah, you’re not planning on proposing to that girl this soon, are you?” Shu asks, lying down on the floor as he catches the youngest off guard. “H… Haah?!! No! W… What are you talking about??!!” Subaru stuttered out, shoving the box down into his pocket, far from sight.
“I’m just saying, if it wasn’t your temper, that may be the thing that scares her off… Haah... I’m tired.” Shu yawns, turning to his side as Subaru stacks the gifts around the eldest, hiding him from plain sight. “Just shut up! What I’ll give her later is none. Of. Your. Business.” Subaru grunted between his gritted teeth, trying to exercise caution as he places the bags and boxes on a table next to the sleeping vampire. Just as Subaru finishes sorting through the gifts, loud blasts ring from the kitchen.
“Uwah… This is more hopeless than I thought.” Laito huffed as he inspected the oven, which had been charred black alongside what should have been a cake. “Well, I guess we still have one more shot at making this cake, don’t we, Ayato-kun? ~” Laito asks, looking over his shoulder, “Oi Kanato, what are you trying to put in the damn batter? This is our last chance to make this cake work!” Ayato yelled, grabbing Kanato by the shoulder to reveal a bottle held close to his chest. Reiji snatches the bottle from Kanato’s grasp to inspect it, “…! I’ve been searching for this for the past few days… Kanato, were you trying to poison the cake?” Reiji interrogates the petite vampire who just glared at him, his nails clawing at the stuffed bear, ripping it open. “SHUT UP, SHE DESERVES EVERY SINGLE DROP OF IT, I’LL FORCE IT DOWN HER THROAT!!” Kanato wailed, his flailing arms pushing the bowls and utensils down to the ground only to stop midway with a crazed look in his eyes. “Fufu, I’ve talked it out with Teddy, We’ve already decided to kill her, and you can’t change our minds.” Kanato giggled hysterically, unaware of the stuffing falling from the stuffed bear, soaking up the fallen egg yolks.
“Kanato, cease what you’re doing at once! Father has instructed us not to kill them!” Reiji fumes, heat rising to his temples as he tries to stop the purple-haired vampire’s tantrums, “Ayato, bring your brother to his room to calm down, I’ll take over from here.” he instructed as he grabs a rag to wipe the counter. Ayato clicks his tongue in annoyance. “Tch, Oi, hysteric, quit crying already and take a shower, you reek of eggs!” he ordered, hoisting Kanato over his shoulder as he makes his way up the stairs, Leaving Laito and Subaru in the ruined kitchen. “Good grief… How are you three able to destroy this kitchen more than you’ve already done?” Reiji shuddered, pushing his glasses back to his face, debating whether he should lay his eyes on the mess again.
“Well, it appears I’ll have to handle the rest of this by myself. Laito, go upstairs and clean up. Most importantly, make sure none of the girls ever come down until everything is ready. They should not see anything- “Before Reiji could finish, he suddenly held his tongue once his eyes darted to the door, revealing the blonde vampire looking over at the state of the kitchen with a frown on her face. “Reiji, what’s the meaning of this?” Asa asks as her brows furrowed, trying to comprehend the situation at hand. “T… This is none of your concern, besides, what are you doing in the kitchen so suddenly?” Reiji chastised, attempting to deflect the question Asa gave him, “That’s right, Asa-chan~ You looked rather fatigued today, do you not? Let Reiji take care of this mess while I escort you back upstairs! ~” Laito suggested, while he grabs at Asa’s shoulders, forcing the blonde vampire out of the kitchen.
Taken aback, Asa struggles in Laito’s hold, causing his fingers to dig deeper into her shoulders. “Laito, let go of me, I’m clearly fine.” she demanded, turning her head to face the vampire behind her, “Aw, Miss Asa, can’t I show concern towards you? It would be a shame if you didn’t spend time with your sisters as much as you want, won’t it?” Laito laughs, ignoring the blonde vampire who only glared daggers at him. “That is none of your concern, I went to the kitchen to- “ Just as Asa was about to finish explaining, Laito quickly pushed her into Akemi’s room. “Yes, I’m sure you have your plans, but the kitchen is currently occupied at the moment, I’ll see all of you later at the dining hall, don’t leave the room till we say so, Bye now~!” Laito exclaimed cheerfully, slamming the door behind him.
Akemi jumps from her bed in shock at the sudden noise, “Wha… Just what’s going on down there?” she asks, clearly shaken from the noise. Frustrated, Asa drags her hand down her face, already feeling the pressure in her temples, “If I’m being honest right now, I’m loathing the fact that I was right about the kitchen blowing up.” She sighs, plopping herself on Akemi’s bed only to hear a yelp of pain coming from an unusual lump under the rose-patterned bedsheets. Taken aback, Akemi crawls towards the lump, pulling the bedsheets back to see Amaya rubbing her head in pain. “Amaya?! When did you get here?!” Akemi exclaimed, inspecting the youngest head for injuries. “Sorry… I just… I don’t want to be alone right now… It’s too loud.” Amaya whimpered, laying her head down back on the bed, “Shh, it’s okay… It’s not your fault.” Asa cooed, patting the youngest’s head.
“Both of you, I’m truly sorry… If I haven’t been so caught up with… everything. Maybe we would have at least had a candle to blow out.” Asa apologizes, looking down at her sisters with a melancholic look in her eyes. “Whatever disaster going on downstairs is not your fault.” Akemi protested as she grabbed Asa by the shoulders, “It doesn’t matter, we’re finally together after… who knows how long…” Akemi whimpered, trying to hide her grief, “If it helps… I’m sorry it took so long for me to get here… I truly owe it to that man for finding me.” Amaya apologizes, shuffling closer to wedge herself between her sisters.
Just before anyone could speak again, three precise knocks came from the door, “Akemi? Are you in there? Are your sisters with you right now? It’s Reiji.” Confused, Akemi lifted herself off the bed and made her way to the door, revealing Reiji, who looked more gaunt than usual. “Good gods… what on earth happened to you?” Akemi gasps, inspecting the plum-haired vampire only to be pushed back slightly, “That is not important right now. Do dress up in your best and take this with you.” Reiji ordered as he handed Akemi small but intricately decorated box. “Wait… what-“ Akemi stuttered and before she could call out to Reiji, he already left.
Curiouser than ever, Amaya perked up and made her way to inspect the box, Marveling in its intense red color. “Oh? What do you think is inside? Can we open it?” she asks, her fingers snatching the smaller box and cradling it in her hands before opening its contents. “Let’s see… ‘Please come down to the dining hall in your best.’ Asa reads, looking over at her sisters. Squealing in glee, Amaya clasps Akemi’s hand, “I knew it, there is a birthday party for us! Akemi, help me pick what to wear!” Akemi shakes her head, trying to hide her smile caused by her youngest sister’s infectious happiness.
“Okay…Okay, let’s go and get dressed.”
-----------------
August 24, 1940, 6:00 PM
“I can smell something sweet coming from downstairs!” Amaya exclaimed as she made her way down the stairs, “Slow down, Amaya, you’ll trip on your skirt.” Asa called out, pulling her long gloves over her arms while Akemi attempted to smoothen out any wrinkles on her evening gown. ‘It can’t be… there’s no way that they could pull something like this in less than a week…’ Akemi ponders as she makes her way to the dining hall, only to be met with the once-dark dining room now flooded with bright lights from the flick of a switch.
“Happy birthday, Asa-chan! Akemi-chan! Amaya-chan! We prepared all this just for the three of you!” Laito exclaimed, his arms spread wide, revealing the room decorated with several balloons scattered across the floor, The tables now have different kinds of food on display as well as a large strawberry cake, surrounded by gifts in different sizes. “Took you three long enough, does that mean we can dig into the Takoyaki, right?” Ayato grumbled, looking over at the plates. "That’s right, I too am sick of waiting, we can finally have the opportunity to eat some sweets. Don't you think, Teddy?" Kanato cooed, now cradling Teddy who is now stitched back together.
Amaya looked over her shoulder to meet her sisters’ gaze, trying to contain her excitement, “See??! I told you so! Isn’t this the best thing ever?” she squealed as she tugged Asa’s hand, pointing at the decorated room with so much wonder in her eyes. “… I… so that explains the fiasco in the kitchen. You let your brothers handle the cooking? It caused so much of a racket.” Asa hummed in thought, looking over at Reiji. “Well, we had to split up the tasks to prepare for this occasion as best as you can with only two days. If it concerns you, I did end up cooking most of the food in the end. Well then, you three, take your respective seats next to each other.” Reiji explains as he adjusts his glasses again, his eyes looking over Amaya and Asa take their seats, leaving the chair between them empty. “Akemi, what’s wrong? Over here!” Amaya waved at her sister who stood still with her lips parted in surprise.
“Hmm? She seems to be frozen in place. Oiii~ Akemi-chan? Earth to Akemi-chan~” Laito chimed, waving his hands in front of Akemi, only to be taken aback by the tears trickling down her face. “O… Oi, why are you crying? Akemi?” Subaru stammered as he made his way towards her and reached out to hold her gloved hand, squeezing it in hopes of bringing her comfort. “Haah… You better sit down first. Otherwise, this party won’t start. Shu sighs as he watches Subaru help Akemi take a seat between her sisters. “… Are you alright? Is there something on your mind?” Asa questions as she hands her sister a handkerchief that Akemi takes while Amaya watches her, keeping quiet. “Ah… I thought I’d never be able to celebrate like this after all this time… It was so hard for me to even mention it.” She sobs, clenching the handkerchief in her hands as more tears run down her face.
Subaru looks over at the weeping vampire, after letting himself think, he eventually turns Akemi’s chair to face him, kneeling to her level in hopes of seeing her face. “… Don’t be so glum, they’re here now, aren’t they?” he asks, his eyes not leaving Akemi’s as she stares at him in disbelief, “You don’t need to be swayed by these unnecessary thoughts anymore… I… Your sisters can keep you company now.” Subaru corrects himself, gripping the edges of Akemi’s seat, feeling more at peace once her tears have ceased. “Oh, Subaru…I…” Akemi murmurs, trembling slightly at the gesture as she reaches for his face.
“Besides, I wanted to give this to you. Happy birthday.” Subaru huffs as he pulls a small box out of his pocket and places it in Akemi’s hands, piquing her curiosity. “… Ah? What are you trying to pull off? Are you trying to tie the knot with her or something?” Ayato prods, “Oooh~ that reminds me, it was me and Subaru who thought about what to give you girls on your birthday, He was so secretive about what he wanted to give you, nfu~” Laito exclaimed, causing Amaya to perk up and look over at Akemi, “Oh… Oh! What’s going on??! Akemi, what’s going on between you and Subaru??” Amaya interrogated as she jumped from her seat, eager for an answer.
Subaru feels his face getting hot as red paints his cheeks “Sh… Shut up! It’s not like that! Quit it, both of you!” he yells, causing Shu to chuckle at the youngest “Sure, it’s definitely not like what everyone is imagining.” Shu smirks. “Hah! No wonder you’re clingy with her. Can’t blame you though, she’s really easy on the eyes. “ Ayato snarks, causing Subaru to glare at him as Akemi opens her gift. “Oh… this is…” Akemi gasps as she pulls a small tin case from the box, opening it to reveal rouge with a dusty-pink hue. “I didn’t know what color you wanted, so I just picked whatever… You can just throw it out if you want-” Subaru mutters until he is shocked as warm hands cupped his face. “No, I love it. I love it so much! Thank you! Thank you so much!” Akemi cried as she wrapped her arms around his neck, letting Subaru stroke her hair.
“Wait…Does that mean I also have gifts?” Amaya asks, looking over at the pile of gifts keenly”, Reiji places a hand on her shoulder, “Not yet, we will open the gifts after we have eaten. Come everyone, the food will get cold at this rate.” He ordered, causing a wave of excitement amongst the hungry vampires. “About time! Oi, you three, you better try some of the Takoyaki made by Ore-sama!” Ayato claimed, shoving Takoyaki onto Asa’s plate. “Ah, how thoughtful of you.” Asa thanked him as she inspected the pile of takoyakis on her plate before distributing the bigger ones between her sisters “Here, try this.” Asa smiles. “It looks tasty.” Amaya squeals, Akemi nodding along to her sister’s statement. “Huh? What did she just say?” Ayato squints, at Amaya, suspicious about what she just said. “She said it looks tasty.” Asa replied as she patted Ayato’s shoulder “Of course, I helped in the kitchen after all!” Ayato boasts, a grin plastered on his face.
“Why can’t we cut the cake already? I’m sick of waiting, aren’t you too, Teddy?” Kanato whines, looking over at the strawberry cake. “It does look pretty, doesn’t it?” Akemi chimed, causing the petite vampire to look at her, “Do you like strawberries, Akemi-san?” he asked, “Strawberries are my favorite, raspberry is nice too.“ Akemi replies, Kanato smiles at the answers, “Fufu~ Of course that’s the right answer. Right, Teddy?” he asks, holding the now-mended Teddy close. “Che, save it for later. Eat first.” Subaru grunts, his words heavily contrast with when he tucks a blonde lock behind Akemi’s ear.
“Before we eat, I would like to make a toast” Reiji declared as he raised a glass of champagne, “I would like to this glass to my cousins, Asa, Akemi, and our new addition, Amaya. Despite all the hardships you may have faced during your years apart.” A pause filled the room as Reiji noticed that Shu was fast asleep in his chair. Giggles filled the room as Reiji made his way to shake Shu awake, causing him to stand up and pull a crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket. “Pwaah…Now we celebrate not only your birth but the first year you are now together after so long. Cheers to the three of you.” Shu declared, raising his glass high up before taking a sip.
Smiling amongst themselves, Asa, Akemi, and Amaya raise their glasses with their new family.
“Cheers!”

“No, I do not really feed on souls. That is more complicated. But I can hurt them. Make them disappear and yet exist forever in pain…but I do not need to do that. It just happens.” – Nunnally did not really feel like explaining everything to Asa – “How about you? Do you take care of souls or just lure them to you?”
The girl was grateful that Asa was trying to console her. Her touch was nice and smoothing. Nunnally’s aura remained dark for a longer while, but then started to fade away. Nunnally seemed relax till the moment when Asa introduced herself. Then she stiffened and pulled away. She looked at her from half closed eyes uncertain what she should say.
“So, you are in my father’s custody.” – she finally said – “Nice to meet you, Asa.” – was she really pleased? Nunnally did not know. Usually, she was not allowed to meet her father’s…well, she was not sure what to call them...adopted children? – “I hardly ever meet persons that my father takes care of. Apart from my brothers, of course. So, I do apologize for my confusions. Are you staying in the manor or in the castle?”

Running through the corridors of the Sakamaki manor, Nunnally heard the screams of Ayato following her. “Good!” – she thought to herself – “He got what he deserved. He will not be forcing me to cook again.”
Taking another corner, she saw Asa walking slowly the corridor. “It would not be good if she run into mad Ayato” – Nunnally thought and running close to her, without stopping, she grabbed Asa’s ahnd and started to pull her with her.
“Run! There is mad Ayato after me. We have to hide. To Reiji’s lab. Quickly!”
@lured-into-wonderland
Asa thought nothing of Ayato’s screams, brushing it off as another day in the Sakamaki manor as she walked down the hallways. Hearing footsteps coming towards her, Asa turned around to find Nunnally grabbing her hand and dragging her to Reiji’s lab. “Nunnally? What happened? What did you do?” Asa questioned, confused as to why the girl wanted to drag her to Reiji’s lab of all places.

Amaya’s School Life in Ryoutei High ( a complete wreak)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• She was placed in a different section far away from her sisters due to the Principal because there were already 6 Sakamakis in the same grade.
• Asa, Akemi, and Laito are on one class while Amaya is stuck with Ayato and Kanato (oh joy-).
•Thanks to this she got VIP tickets to Kanato’s mid-class tantrums and watching Ayato get scolded by the teacher when he ditches classes.
•The worst part is that the teachers would go point at and go “You're their sister, right? Tell them to calm down.” As if they would listen to her??? Be for real.
•When Yui entered the picture, Amaya was assigned to take care of her during class and make sure she doesn't get dragged by the gremlins when they get hungry.
Additional fact: Asa is the one who helps Yui study and get notes for Yui in case of any emergencies (aka anemia due to the vampire gremlins)
• Ayato talks to Amaya the most, mostly to annoy her and ask where she hid Yui so he can snack on her. Sometimes he would throw his notebooks on his desk and demand that she helps him with with his math homework last minute. (all the whole calling her Googly-Eyes)
• And every time, Amaya looks at him and says “Not my problem.”

MORTAL DELIGHTS (Akemi and Yui, ft. Maya)
(OC of @summercreolefanfictioner )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Damn I’ve been working on this for 3 weeks… I hope you guys like it, I worked really hard on this and asked Summer just to make sure I portray Maya right. Who knows? I might write another oneshot with Maya featuring another sister. 👀
Time has passed through Yui’s fingers as she spent weeks and months in the Sakamaki Manor. It felt odd to her that she could have died so many times and yet she’s still alive… Was it because they wanted to toy with her? Or was it because of those female vampires protecting her? As if that wasn’t enough, her world turned upside down once more when that girl… the new doll-like maid who never spoke a word. Maya Sakamaki.
Not that it mattered to Yui, if anything, she was happy to have another girl in the manor, a human girl to be exact. Deep down, Yui even hoped that she could spend more time with Maya soon and they can do simple things like baking or having sleepovers in each other’s rooms. Yui kept thinking to herself as she looked through the library, trying to recall where a certain book was placed. “If I remember correctly, I think that book is supposed to be around here?” Yui muttered quietly, her hand stops at a leather book, the book was too high up and it cause Yui to stand on her toes in hopes to reach it.
Eventually, Yui just barely managed to take the book off the shelf and almost fell to the ground, book in hand. “That was close…” Yui sighed in relief, pressing the book to her chest as she tries to calm down. Curious, Yui finally opened the book and flipped through the pages, only for her to find herself confused by the contents. ‘This language… I don’t think I’ve seen this one yet…’ Yui thought to herself, her eyes darted through the letters and pictures, and she could only deduce that she did get a book about pastries.
“Bitch-chan, what are you reading? Is it something naughty~? Nfu~“ Yui could only yelp in shock as she took a few steps back only to find the fedora-clad vampire’s green eyes staring right at her, his smile seemed to grow wider as Yui grew more nervous.
Laito’s cat-like green eyes scan through the book in his hands “Hmmm? Can you even read this, my silly little bitch? The text is in French you know?” the vampire cooed towards the human, Yui could only keep her mouth closed, too scared to talk back. “French is such a beautiful language, ma petite chienne. It feels good on the tongue and pleasant to the ears.” Laito sighed in pleasure, a blush forming on his cheeks as if he were reminiscing about a lover. Yui’s pink eyes darted in different directions, her hands started to feel clammy as she continues to try and find a way to escape.
That is until Laito said something that caught her off guard.
“The way Akemi speaks gets me so aroused, till this very day. After all, that man found that pretty little thing in France and brought her to us.” Laito laughed heartily as he recalls the day, he first laid his eyes on her.
A slim body shivering on a winter night, sapphire her blue eyes were blown wide like a frightened fawn, and yet still so willing to bite back.
Yui can feel her cheeks flush with embarrassment at what the vampire had just said. Yet she couldn’t help but perk up when Laito mentioned Akemi. “Is that true? You found Akemi-san in France?” Laito gave the petite human in front of him a Cheshire grin “Why yes, she can! But my little bitch, wouldn’t you rather have me as your tutor? Think of all the fun we could have-“ Not letting Laito finish his sentence, Yui dashed out of the library as quickly as her legs can carry her before the fedora-clad vampire could be shocked at her sudden disappearance. As Yui ran across the hall, she finds herself at another vampire’s chambers with the owner of said chambers fast asleep, her long golden hair framing her face like a golden halo.

“Akemi-san”
“Akemi-san”
“Akemi-san”
“Akemi-san… can you help me make this pastry?” Confused and disorientated, Akemi rose from her bedsheets to look at the trembling human before her. “Hmm? Can you say that again? I didn’t hear you.” Akemi yawned, brushing her blond curls away from her face. Trying to find her confidence, Yui points at a picture in the book in her hands. “This one? I don’t know how to pronounce this… or even know what it says…” Yui mumbled in shame as sleepy blue eyes scanned the book in front of her.
“Ah, you want to make clafoutis? Why is that?” The vampire asked as she slowly rolled out of bed, adjusting her nightgown to appear more modest before the human. “My apologies, dear. You caught me at a bad time.” Noticing this, the human started to sputter, covering her eyes with her hands to preserve Akemi’s dignity as the vampire gave Yui a gentle smile. “Hey, don’t act so shy, we’re both girls here. I’ll help you bake some pastries.” Akemi laughed at Yui’s reaction while she got out of bed and walked to her wardrobe. “Do you mind if we meet in the kitchen in a bit? I still need to… get changed.” Akemi explained carefully, her hands motioning to her nightgown.
“Ah, I’m sorry. I’ll be on my way” Yui nodded excessively; her lips pursed. “I’ll try to be quick. Can’t afford you running into one of the triplets behind my back. Please don’t wander around too much.” Akemi hollered out from her dressing screen, throwing her nightgown off to the side to get her skirt and top laid on top of her chair. Yui nodded, “Ok… I’ll do my best. Thank you, Akemi-san.”
While the human made her way out of her room, Akemi gazed out of the window, seemingly lost in thought, silence fills the room. The vampire sighed, now dressed, and looked at herself in the mirror even if her face remained unchanged for all those years. “There’s nothing to be grateful for when you’re a feast for inhumane men until they spit you out.”
In the 17 years of living on Earth… Yui would have never thought she would make pastries with a vampire of all things.
‘Oh, I have to mix the dry ingredients while Akemi- san is pitting the cherries.’ Yui thought to herself as she grabbed the eggs from the tray and cracked them one by one into the bowl. ‘Who would have thought that someone like Akemi-san would cook? Actually… now that I think about it, Amaya-san also wasn’t as scary as I thought she would be. If anything, they all act more like humans.’ Yui pondered, pursing her lips shut just in case she accidentally says something out loud.
“Oh, I haven’t asked you yet. Yui, who is this pastry for? Is it for the little newcomer?” Akemi asked, her hands making quick work of removing the cherry seeds and tossing them into the nearby bin she placed beside her. Yui looked up to the taller woman beside her as she continued to mix the ingredients, “Y-yes, that’s right. I thought it would be nice if we made something for her since she just arrived…” Akemi nodded at Yui’s explanation, letting out a small hum, “Is it as a surprise of sorts? It’s just that if you wanted this as a surprise, I can’t exactly help with hiding it. None of us are.” Akemi explained carefully, recalling the fact that Maya didn’t smell like anything when she first arrived.
Before Akemi could talk more, Yui let out a small yelp which caused Akemi to stop cutting the cherries in half, her knife not leaving her hand. Across the kitchen counter stood a petite young lady dressed in a traditional maid outfit, her black hair framing her expressionless face. Sighing, Akemi placed the knife aside as she walked toward the doll-like human, “What are you doing here, little one? Is your head ok already?” Akemi questioned the smaller human in front of her, her hand reaching out to Maya’s temple.
Thankfully, Maya gave Akemi a nod and started writing on the board. “I’m fine, thank you. May I help you bake?” Maya wrote out and showed it to the vampire in front of her. “You wanted to help?” Akemi pondered carefully, turning her head back to the bowl of batter and cherries on the kitchen counter. “Well me and Yui-chan are almost done baking, you don’t mind helping us set the batter and the cherries into the tray, don’t you Maya-chan?” Akemi asked Maya, the doll nodded again and made her way to help the girls bake the pastries that were meant for her.
Tumblr media
“I never thought you would cook, Akemi-san, this is delicious,” Yui exclaimed, finishing her slice of clafoutis. “It’s not much, I had to learn how to cook to fill my stomach, I wasn’t always living in a manor,” Akemi replied while she chewed, tasting the tart flavor of the cherries in her mouth. Maya put her fork down and started writing again, “I agree with Yui-san, thank you for the food.” Maya bowed, Akemi gave Maya a gentle smile, and patted the doll’s head, “Well, I’m glad you like it, both of you.” Maya looked up at Akemi and her eyes traced her gentle features, everything about the vampire just felt warm to her.
It felt nice.
Tumblr media
Eventually, Maya found herself sitting in the kitchen watching Akemi talk to Yui while they pack away the leftover clafoutis. “I made extra just in case Kanato wants some. Honestly, he would throw a fit at me if he found out that we ate without him.” Akemi chuckled exasperatedly; the thought of the 4th Sakamaki brother paying more attention to her was enough to give her a migraine, never mind that he didn’t hate her as much as he wanted to kill her older sister. Despite that, Akemi found it amusing that Maya would react more at the mere mention of Kanato, even if she never saw what Maya saw in him.
The heart wants what it wants, never mind if the heart wants a man-child who promises to kill you with a spoon if his treats are not sweet enough.
“Akemi-san, do you think we can do something like this again?” Yui asked as she set the tableware aside to dry. Akemi turned around to look at Yui, she found it odd that the human remained positive despite being sent to the manor. If Akemi would recall, a normal bride would have been driven mad by despair within days and given up on finding a way out of the hell they have been placed in, it has always been that way for decades. Some were lucky to have swift deaths.
Now there’s a human that that man told his sons not to kill and another girl who isn’t even a bride. It was too strange to think about.
Nevertheless, Akemi looked at both of those humans and smiled, “Yeah, I’m sure we can bake again someday. Amaya and Asa would love to join you two.” Her response gave Yui a hopeful look in her eyes, Maya remained expressionless and nodded once more.
Despite all that, Akemi still remained doubtful that there will be a next time.

D-O-L-L-H-O-U-S-E, I see things that nobody else sees|| Asa and Kanato
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: goodness, this has been in the back burner for a long time and now it’s finally done!! This is the first work for Asa and I hope all of you enjoy it
The Sakamaki manor wasn’t everything that Asa had expected. It was quiet and cold like the warmth has left every crevice and a husk is all that remains. The only noise Asa could hear would be from the brothers bickering and fighting amongst each other. She even noticed the sudden crashes of rubble and concrete from the youngest, Subaru.
Despite not remembering every name, Asa paid the Sakamakis no mind, as long as she was together with Aurelia… or that new name she picked, Akemi, she was happy. That man, Karlheinz just needed to find her youngest sister and all three of them can reunite again. Asa felt torn, she wanted to help in the search for her sister but she didn’t want to leave the other alone with six other men.
It worried Asa as she paced in her new bedroom, her senses put off by her new environment. The bed feels too soft, everything smelled so clean and fresh that Asa can catch a whiff of the phantom stench of the streets that she dragged her feet in until they bleed and dried up, turning into twisted makeshift shoes. Guts and feces galore and she would dance around the cold stone path, trying to avoid the slimy texture of dried blood, puke and corpses… oh the corpses.
However, Asa knows she is not in danger… not anymore… with this new name and “Alice” became a secret to hide in a box.
The hours seemed to stretch on as Asa flipped from page to page of the cookbook she found in the manor’s library. Her eyes glazed over the numbers, words, and bright illustrations of desserts. Her hands stopped at a page talking about snickerdoodles. I wonder if Aurie would like this? She always likes sweets when we were younger.
Getting up from her seat in her new bedroom, Asa strolled down the stairs, book in hand as she made her way to the kitchen. The soft creaks of the wooden cabinets filled the extravagant kitchen while Asa peered over the ingredients without having to grab a stool or tiptoe. Back then, I had to ask help to grab the ingredients. Asa recalls more peaceful times, it felt jarring to her, knowing she had grown so much, almost tall as the men in the new country she now resides.
I've done this before, I can do it again. Asa let out a small exhale in hopes to calm down as she set the ingredients down on the counter. Flour, eggs, cinnamon, sugar... Carefully fold everything in a bowl with a spatula, roll them into balls, and put them on a baking tray. Asa stared at the small glass window of the oven, watching the cookies bubble up into balloons and settle down near the end.
Satisfied, Asa plopped the cookies down on a plate. All the while waiting for the cookies to cool, Asa continued humming a nameless tune, pouring some milk into the glass, and finally setting everything on a metal tray.
I wonder if this is good? I guess I should try one. Asa picked one of the cookies from the plate and took a bite, nodding to herself in satisfaction. It would suffice.
Carefully, Asa made her way back to the stairs, the tray held with both of her hands. Her eyes never left the glass of milk to make sure that it doesn't spill. Just about when Asa reached Akemi’s door, a soft voice suddenly spoke out.
“Did you make those cookies?” Confused, Asa turned her head to find Kanato leaning against the wall with the stuffed animal in his arms. “Well… yes, I did,” Asa replied while she watched Kanato peer at the cookies she made with childlike wonder.
“Where’s my share?” Kanato asked, his cocked to the side, holding his stuffed bear closer to his chest, and his lavender eyes staring back at Asa. Taken aback by this question, Asa instinctively kept the tray further from Kanato’s grasp. “I made this for my sister, I haven’t seen her in so long. Would you please move out of the way? I need to see her.” Asa refuted, her hands still grasping the tray of cookies and milk in her hands.
Kanato walked towards Asa and grabbed onto the tray, defiant. “I don’t care, if you can understand your place here you would give these cookies to me.” Asa furrowed her eyes in annoyance. “Absolutely not. If you wish I will make another batch for you if you're patient.”
In a flurry of rage and tear-filled eyes, Kanato started tugging the tray even harder and started wailing like a banshee. “I DON’T WANT TO WAIT, HOW CAN YOU BE SO INCONSIDERATE???! YOU’RE SO CRUEL TO ME!!” Kanato accused angrily, growing more and more frustrated when he realized the tray hasn't budged from Asa’s hands as she just watched him disapprovingly. “WHY CAN’T YOU JUST GIVE IT TO ME?! I WILL RIP YOUR FINGERS OFF IF YOU CONTINUE TO DEFY ME LIKE THIS.” Even so, Asa looks at the shorter man throw tantrum after tantrum, undaunted by his threats.
“What is the meaning of this?” Exasperated, Asa looked over Kanato’s shoulder to find Reiji. “Reiji... She won't give me cookies, it's not fair.” Kanato sobbed, hot tears trickling down his round porcelain face.
“Asa, let Kanato have some of the cookies,” Reiji asked as he carefully cleaned his glasses of Kanato’s tantrums and spit. Before Asa could answer, Kanato snatched a handful of cookies, grasping them tightly in his pale thin hands, almost crushing them and leaving crumbs on the floor. Asa was left in shock as she watched her cookies get snarfed down by this... brat.
Almost in an instant, the boy’s demeanor changed.
“Make it sweeter next time, don't you think so Teddy?” Kanato cooed at his teddy bear, getting crumbs over its brown face. Asa felt her eyebrow twitch in anger and she glared daggers at the stuffed animal to avoid the urge to punch the shorter vampire in the face. How childish.
Help me... Help us...
Asa brought her fingers to her ear, confused. Did that teddy bear just talk? For a moment Asa denied it and yet the voice she just heard sounded like a girl’s and the voice seemed to come from somewhere other than the bear. “It seems the problem is resolved. Both of you must refrain from making such a scene in the hallway.” Reiji stated curtly, fetching his pocket watch from his breast pocket, Kanato was long gone. “Well then, I shall take my leave. Please excuse me.”
“Wait.” Exasperated, Reiji turned to find Asa looking at him with daggers in her eyes. “Clearly, this kind of behavior is unacceptable but why must I be blamed for your brother’s tantrums?” Asa jeered icily, still annoyed by the lack of responsibility that she had to witness. For someone who’s such a control freak… everything seems to be out of his hands, pathetic.
“I believe what I did was fair, it's quite shameful that you refuse to take responsibility for your actions.” Reiji refuted, cold and precise in his answer. “What responsibility? I’m not your brother’s keeper. If anything, you should be disciplining them, not me.”
Before anything could spiral out of hand, Asa let out a huff while trying to open Akemi’s bedroom door with her shoulder. “The milk will get cold if I don’t deliver this to my sister, do excuse me.” The door let out a gentle click as it closed, leaving Reiji alone in the hallway.
“Aurelia, it's me, Alice.” Asa called out, finding her younger sister standing near the balcony, her blonde curls swaying gently with the breeze. “Pfft, haha, you really created quite the ruckus in the hallways, huh? I can't blame you.” Asa shook her head as Akemi made her way to get the cookies made for her, munching her cookie In bliss. “It's not my fault that I'm still adjusting to the brothers. The milk is not warm anymore..” Asa muttered in her grievance, Akemi only smiled, taking the glass in her hand and dipping her finger in the glass, waiting until the milk started to boil.
When Akemi looked up, she almost burst into giggles the moment she saw Asa’s face, looking at her in disbelief. “Oh Aurie, did you even wash your hands?” Asa sighed, letting herself sit on Akemi’s balcony, hands clasped together. “I already did, thanks so much for the cookies.” Akemi chirped, making a beeline to the edge of the balcony to rest her head on Asa’s shoulder, still sipping on her warm milk. “Alice... Can I ask you something?”
“What is it?” Asa asked, her calloused hands combing through Akemi’s hair. “Ever since you arrived, you tend to space out a bit. Why is that?” Akemi questioned, wrapping her arm around Asa, the half empty glass still in her hand. “I can hear and see things that are not supposed to be seen. The dead to be more specific.” Asa explained, slowly as her eyes drift to Kanato, walking with that bear in his arms, Asa glared at its beady eye as it stares back at her.
“Can you hear anything now?”
Asa’s brows furrowed. “… it’s too quiet here.”
“Then that’s supposed to be a good thing, right? You don’t have to hear the ghosts anymore. At least, not when you're here.”
Asa's eyes continue to drift to the purple-haired vampire as he opened a pair of large doors, disappearing into the unknown room. “… it’s more unsettling when I can’t hear them.” Akemi nodded, trying to comprehend what her sister had to face ever since they got separated.
Carefully, Akemi placed the empty glass on the floor of the balcony and reached out to hold Asa’s hand. Her older sister’s hand felt colder, colder than what she tried to remember, rougher around her fingers from the many times the skin has torn itself apart and mend itself once more. “I don’t know how to help you but… I… I’ll be here when you need me.” Akemi proclaimed, gripping Asa’s hand as tight as she can, calluses and all.
In her surprise, Asa turned to see her younger sister, her mouth curving up to a gentle smile. “Thank you…“
Sighing, Asa ruffled Akemi’s curls, much to the younger’s dismay. “I’ll go and retire to my room, don’t stay up too late… I’m glad that you’re here with me, Aurie.”
“One day… all of us will be together again.”
Tumblr media
It was almost dawn when Asa woke up to the feeling of chills down her arms despite being covered in her blanket. “What is it now?” Asa groaned out, still trying the shake away from her slumber before she felt a firmer grip on her hand. “Miss, we're trapped.” the voice called out again, pleading and its silhouette grows fainter by the second. Straining herself, Asa's eyes start to glow a pale blue. “Please, please don’t hurt me!” The ghost cried out, shielding her face, her arms were all blue and purple and they only grew more and more opaque as the ghost continued to take form in Asa’s eyes.
To the ghost's surprise, Asa immediately stood right in front of her, not a hint of fear in her eyes as she approached the ghost. “You... You can see me?” the ghost marveled, reaching out to try and hold Asa’s arm, only to be surprised to feel her cold skin.
“I can hold you?” the ghost asked, her mind in a frenzy, how long did she wander the halls long after her passing without ever feeling the carpets below her feet? The wallpaper on her fingertips?
Every sensation felt so new yet familiar… Asa pitied the ghost.
“Only one? Where are the others?” Asa questioned, gentle and coaxing. If there was anything that Asa would know about the brothers, she knew that they were hot-tempered, cruel, and sadistic. They were everything that a vampire should be and Asa couldn’t comprehend the possible number of innocent girls that died in their hands.
So only having one soul in an old manor didn’t make any sense to Asa.
The ghost’s form shook with fear. “I… I don’t want to go back there.” Asa places her hand on the ghost’s, surprising her. “I’m not going to send you back. I just need to know where the other girls are.” The ghost’s brows furrowed, reluctant to the vampire’s request. “I… I can take you there… but I will stay outside of the room.” The ghost relented, trying to give herself confidence, something she slowly lost during the days she was alive as the Sakamaki brothers stripped everything away from her, bit by bit.
To the ghost’s surprise, Asa nodded, grabbing an oil lamp at her bedside. Wrapping herself in a shawl around herself to keep herself warm. “Lead the way.”
Tumblr media
“This is as far as I want to go.” the ghost stuttered as she and Asa reached a large pair of doors. “It's alright. You can wait here.” Asa assured the ghost, slowly walking towards the same pair of doors that Kanato walked into. Only to be taken aback when she heard a rattle from the inside, causing the door to shake ever so slightly.
Nevertheless, Asa still reached for the handle, opening it to find a room… and her heart sank at the sight of the dolls. If you can even call those things dolls, and the hollowed out sobs that Asa could hear… it felt jarring to Asa that she’s so used to those cries, even feeling out of place in whatever quiet the world can conjure. Perhaps its one of the many disadvantages of living amongst humans.
Another ghost cried out, banging her head against the floor, her brown hair covering her features. “Laito said he loved me… he said he loved me and yet…”
Asa quickly covered her ear with one hand, overwhelmed by the sudden presence of multiple ghosts. Trying not to drop the lamp in her hand.
“I hate him! How could he do this to me? I was almost done making his stupid sweets for him and his stupid bear…” Another ghost wailed, her voice came out in a croak, stab wounds covering her nape and throat. Asa assumed it was a fork when she looked closer.
Cries of the memories of poison seeping into one’s veins, Gurgles of aches and pains that comes with broken limbs and misery rose in a twisted symphony with no one to hear… until now.
Several pairs of eyes stare back at Asa, gazing at her in wonder and desperation. Immediately trying to claw at her while the other shriek in fear at the sight of her.
“No! No please! Shu, please don’t hurt me!” A bride cried out, huddling at the corner at the sight of Asa’s face. The glints of light flicker, the room grew colder and colder around Asa, she still did not flinch.
A bride snarled in her anger. “Where’s Reiji? Let me out! Let. Me. Out!!! He needs to pay for what he’s done!!” Her voice drip with venom, yearning for retribution.
Help me. Save me. Give me peace. Avenge me.
Asa’s ears starts to ring, voices overlapping with one another in a blend of pleas and demands.
“That’s enough.” Asa snapped, the room grew once more, other than the quiet muffles coming from the brides’ lips, trying to open their mouths to no avail.
Asa raises her hand to press against her temples, feeling a migraine coming.
“Alright, if I can make you talk again, will you tell me everything? One at a time.” The brides nodded in unison, desperate to have a chance to speak again. Keeping their promise of silence when Asa let go of their lips.
“There are only two options all you can have, so listen well.” Asa prompted amidst the quiet. Heads snapped towards her direction, the ghosts’ glassy eyes almost bulging out of their sockets while they wait for the vampire to propose her offer. “You can continue to haunt your killers for all long as they live, most of them can't even see you or hear your cry out.” The other brides stayed quiet, other still found the courage to wail more. Stuck in a cold room while their killers run around, still free.
“What then? What is your other offer?” A bride hissed out, her once sweet face contorting in anger and disappointment. All these years they were forced to live in a vampire’s den till they met their inevitable demise, until the moment they opened their eyes again, breathing into the afterlife, stuck in one room, for as long as they can remember. It was too painful to think about. “Don't you want to leave?” Asa asked, watching the ghosts gaze at her... with a glimpse of hope in their faces.
Slowly, one of the brides made her way towards the vampire. Despite her shivering frame, her eyes were clear, filled with determination, for a moment, Asa could have mistaken her for one of the living if it weren’t for the blood trickling down her neck, stuck in a twisted loop. “Then… may I go first? If it’s true… then we can be free.” the girl whispered out, her coal black hair hiding part of her face.
Asa lends her hand to the black haired ghost. “We can try.” she says solemnly as she and the ghost walk towards the doors, the brides watching the pair on with the bated breaths that they can no longer hold. Their unwavering eyes never leaving the wooden doors as shuts them out, tearing away the glimpse of the gardens outside.
All they had to do was wait… and wait… and wait…
Tumblr media
The dolls looked the same as Kanato remembered, the corpses were pale, smooth to the touch, ornament-like. Paranoid, Kanato floated up to the displays, examining every single detail of one bride. Coal black hair and equally black eyes, a deep contrast to her white wedding dress and painted lips. Her real name long gone and was given the name ‘darling’. Stripping her off her identity with no one to tell her who she really is, forever a mystery.
It looks like nothing was out of place and yet, ‘darling’ looked more lifeless and paler. The remaining life of the girl’s husk seemed... emptied. His doll-like eyes not blinking as he examines every crevice of her porcelain face that he carefully preserved for decades in molten wax.
“Teddy… what is going on?”
