"No bubblegums, I told you". His voice was stern as he walked down the corridors of the enormous Fatui headquarters in Snezhnaya. The long coat draped over his shoulders trailed along the floor following Zandik's decisive, echoing footsteps.
You grunted and rolled your eyes as you put the still wrapped chewing gum back in your pocket. What never ceased to surprise you was the fact that he heard everything and saw everywhere even though his eyes were covered by a mask.
"Good". He didn't even turn.
"Whatever". If there had been anyone else in your place, they wouldn't have lived another second, but you were you and the scary crow who occupied the second place of the Harbingers liked you.
"Faster, darling. The meeting is about to start and we're late".
You were not in a good mood: your acid reflux acted out again and that day it seemed particularly awful. You were out of energies and your throat had been burning since that morning. Your stomach seemed to be very displeased by everything you tried to eat and made you throw up before you could even finish your breakfast.
Dottore was there with you and as soon as he saw your mood starting to falter, he gently dragged you away from the table with one arm and wrapped you in a hug, not giving a single shit about the string of saliva dripping from your lips.
He cradled you in his arms - a sweet action that only you got to see and experience, being the only person Zandik had allowed to get so close to him - until you cried your last tear and sniffled one final time. He then kissed your forehead and flashed you a soft smile.
He demanded that you drink at least a quarter of a liter of water and then escorted you to the bathroom to brush your teeth - "Bile is acidic, you have to rinse it all out", he said - and prepare you a good bath, because "It will help", he promised.
And while you bathed, he cleaned the mess you accidentally did on the table himself, knowing full well that you hated it when people found out about your problem.
You didn't want him to know about it, too, but he eventually discovered it by analysing you with his medical eye.
In the beginning you thought that your disease would compromise the sweet bond that was forming between you two, that he would be disgusted, maybe even mad at you. But no. He was comprehensive, to a level you had never experienced with anyone.
"A doctor who is disgusted by illnesses fails every part of their work", he told you many times, "Even though medicine is not the only field I studied".
But he was still a doctor, and after the initial sweet reassurance he made sure to be understood, severely. Especially by you, since he cared about you way more than the others and wanted you to always feel at your best.
You arrived at the meeting door a minute late. Before entering, he turned to you.
"Are you feeling better?".
"A bit. My throat is still aching, though".
He analysed you with a glance. "I already told you, but you can wait outside if you don't feel too good".
"It's okay. My presence is needed anyway".
He sighed and put his hand on the handle to open the door, but he stopped as he seemed to remember something.
"Your chewing gum. Give it here".
"What?". You were surprised, eyes wide open. Doctor's sixth sense, you thought. Must've understood that you would've put the gum inside your mouth as soon as he was distracted. You knew it wasn't healthy, especially for your acute acid reflux, but you were stressed and you needed to chew on something that wasn't the inside of your cheek.
"You heard me", he reiterated, showing you the palm of his hand.
You rolled your eyes and gave him the bubblegum. He smirked and finally entered the room.
But he didn't notice the smile forming on your lips once he turned his back to you. He especially didn't notice it when you started to chew on another gum you had kept in your sleeve.
But he definitely did notice it when your eyes widened and started to water.
Your chest was burning and you could feel the bile slowly but surely coming up.
You looked at him, pleadingly, and he sighed.
He brought you out of the meeting room just in time.
When you recovered a bit, he scolded you until he was sure that you wouldn't have done it again.
And you did understand, but your whole situation didn't seem fair. The more you thought about it, the more your heart ached, until you broke down and he wrapped his arms around you comfortably for the second time that day.
Without you realizing it, he signaled one of the guards along the corridor to clear the passage and leave it completely empty. He didn't give any reason, but as you two headed towards your Harbinger's office, you wondered if all that silence and lack of staff was his doing.
He comforted you until you felt better, brushed your teeth another time and made you sit down to rest.
When a smile finally appeared on your lips, he kissed the top of your head and excused himself, momentarily leaving the room to "teach that fucking ginger head a lesson, because he shouldn't have dared to give you those chewing gums and make you feel sick".

Lingoget Reviews - Don't Buy Without Reading This [Updated 2022]
Expand Your World By Using These Personality Techniques
Don't be discouraged when you don't see quick results from your personal development. There are many good plans that just don't work because you don't really Lingoget reviews have the information that you need to make them successful. If you are looking for success, you will find some sound advice in the article below.
A great self help tip is to force yourself to be social even when you don't feel like it. It's common for depressed people to isolate themselves and become a bit antisocial. This can ruin your friendships. Even though it might be uncomfortable, forcing yourself to be social will help you fight your depression.
Tumblr media
Try using affirmations to make yourself see how great you really are. Repeating phrases like "I am strong,""I believe in myself," "I am healthy," etc. can really help you feel better about the kind of person you feel you are. It really helps increase your self-worth and personal strength to achieve your goals.
Keep lists of your progress daily. When you have completed these lists, don't be so quick to throw them away. Just because the lists are complete does not mean that you are done with them. Try surrounding yourself with your progress by keeping them and displaying them. This can give you drive and let you know that you can accomplish your goals.
Try working in blocks of 10 minutes to get more work done. It's true that 10 minutes is not an eternity or a great deal of time to accomplish everything, but when used correctly, you can get so much done in that short period of time. After that time is up, take a break and start again.
When you are trying to better yourself, set a deadline. Decide how long you will need to make up your mind and stick to that time-frame. How much time do you need to reflect and gather information? When you decide, set your deadline and tell your self that you are ready to live a better life.
Keep all of your household notes in one notebook. Arrange them chronologically. Write down your shopping lists right under your conversation with the utility company. Date everything and that way you will be able to easily locate your notes just by thinking about the approximate date you made them.
Things that may limit your personal development primarily stem from a negative state of mind. This inhibits your ability to become more and attain more as a human in regards to your career, finances, and your emotional and physical states. If you limit your beliefs and disregard all of the positive qualities about yourself, you will not be able to move forward with your development.
Having faith is essential to the well-being of a person. Faith is believing without seeing and then acting on your belief. It's not enough to say you believe; you must put your faith into action. This means instead of just thinking you can get better, claim that you have been made whole. Show some faith!
You only need to remember one key to live and lead a successful life. You need to chose to actively participate in your life instead of being a spectator. Don't be a spectator who isn't participating in your world. Take action and live!
A good self help tip to combat anxiety is to go to a small get together with friends. This is like a low key party, so you will be able to socialize and get comfortable around groups of people, but you should not get overwhelmed as there are not too many people there.
Instead of focusing on how you perceive your body may look to others, focus instead on Sterilize x reviews how your body feels to you. After all, you are more qualified than anyone else to determine how your body is or is not performing. Boost your self-esteem by looking for healthy activities and hobbies that satisfy both requirements of looking and feeling great.
Remember not to measure yourself based solely on your performances. Benchmarks, goals and achievements are all great things, but when you base your self-worth merely on these aspects you are setting yourself up for failure later in life. Try to develop yourself as a complete person, including in your social and family life.
If you want to have a more positive attitude, then create positive affirmations that you wish to live by. Affirmations are essentially positive thoughts. Living with a positive attitude will help lead your mind to a positive action, which could change your behavior, attitudes, habits and reactions for the better.
Don't rely simply on your memory for knowledge, invest in understanding things completely. You need to approach life and learning not only with the goal of understanding the 'how' and 'what', but also of understanding the 'why'. When you begin to grasp why something occurred, you are are opening up a layer of knowledge that many people ignore.
Take the time to pamper yourself. If you find that you are not able to find any other way to relax, take a day to make yourself feel pampered. Whether this is a day at the spa or just a long hot soak in a bubble bath, it will surely help you to release the stress of your hectic life.
As you found out from the beginning of this article, successful personal development is not a matter of quick results. Having the right information to use to make your plan successful, is as important as sticking to your plan. Using the tips in the article above, is just what you need for success.

Janice As Deus Ex Machina: An Essay
Janice Litman-Goralnik (née Hosenstein) is a once-a-season staple on the classic television sitcom, FRIENDS. The character is oftentimes overlooked by the FRIENDS gang but plays a crucial role in the development of the characters.
Janice’s character is developed as a plot device and as a guide for the characters, in particular her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Chandler Bing. Janice acts the sitcom’s Manhattanite deus ex machina, where her inclusion in the story allows Chandler, as well as Joey as he becomes her friend, and Ross as he realises he's been neglectful to his friends when he sees how attentive Janice can be, to mature so that he can grow up and partake in more serious and sensible relationships. The ancient Greek literary term refers to “a concept or character introduced for the purpose of resolving a conflict and leading characters to the correct path of their journey.” She enters the story at precisely the right time to ensure positive character development. Her presence is short-lived but purposeful, whereby she acts as an assistant to Chandler Bing’s destiny but is not, and cannot be, part of his destiny herself, as she is sometimes misconstrued.
For Chandler Bing, in particular, Janice’s arrival in the episodes of FRIENDS mark moments of low self-esteem and times where a perspective from outside the occasionally dangerously co-dependent group is necessary to grant sage advice. Often, Janice’s ephemeral presence also grants Chandler a chance for important personal growth.
Below is a more in-depth analysis of Janice working as a deus ex machina for Chandler Bing:
1. 105 The One With The East German Laundry Detergent
Breaking up with Janice allows Chandler to experience and participate in a break up that doesn’t end in heartbreak for either party. Here she shows Chandler that breaking up does not have to equate to heartbreak, he’s been afraid of them for as long as he can remember, (almost as afraid as he is of commitment) having witnessed his parent’s devolution into terrible role models when their marriage broke down. She also gives him a chance to get to know Phoebe a little better, she’ll be important in his life as she teaches him to be comfortable in his skin.
2. 114 The One With The Candy Hearts
In a time of self-doubt and job dissatisfaction, Janie again appears. This time with different advice. Here she is a friendly face for Chandler when his two best friends are preoccupied with others, in the immediate environment Joey has neglected Chandler for his date, but the more long term issue is the loss of Monica as she is preoccupied with helping Rachel fit into their group. The other thing she highlights for Chandler is that romance need not be permanent. Chandler has tried since his parents’ divorce to create permanent relationships in his life, he has trouble letting go of people and suffers when they let go of him. Janice leads him to the truth that not all relationships last forever.
3. 203 The One Where Heckles Dies
Janice is pregnant when she meets Chandler next, (clearly over Chandler) and as a result, Chandler considers the place for children and a family in his future.
4. 224 The One With Barry and Mindy's Wedding / 301 The One With The Jam
Chandler Bing has watched all of his friends pair off and is looking online for love, Janice shows up to show him he has options. She also shows up just as Monica breaks up with Richard, allowing this break up to be the first Monica has to deal with without her best friends Chandler. In doing so, Monica realises, perhaps not to the extent of comprehending it to be romantic love, that she needs Chandler’s presence in her life.
Chandler gets a chance to experience his first real relationship, he is forced to reevaluate his priorities to make room for a new person in his life and to deal with the messier aspects of relationships like custody, ex-husband’s, and disapproving friends. It is destined to not last but he gets to experience an almost-healthy relationship for the first time in his life. They break up not long after and again Chandler gets the chance to learn he is different from his father and mother. He also learns to put the happiness of someone else before his own.
5. 306 The One With The Flashback
Janice nudges both Monica and Chandler towards their long-buried feelings for each other.
6. 415 The One With All The Rugby
Janice's appearance in this episode is an uplifting one. Having lost all his confidence, Chandler needs her outside perspective that he is both a valuable person and a desired one. Her presence also allows him to realise he was never in love with her, rather, in love with his own, as well as her, infatuation.
7. 707 The One With Ross' Library Book
Planning a wedding and realising the sacrifices necessary to combine two lives, Chandler's run-in with Janice proves to both him and his fiancee that the love he and Janice may have shared was fake, flimsy and based on the unsustainable Hollywood portrayal of "movie love," ultimately assuaging any doubts he may have had about Monica and his relationship being fated, showing him that anything else is a silly idealised version of love and that what he and Monica share is takes time and effort, yes, but is real and rewarding like no other love they have been in with anybody else.
8. 824 The One Where Rachel Has A Baby
Janice arrives just as Chandler and Monica plan to start a family, reminding Chandler there is no other woman he'd like to raise a family with. And there are no other features he would want on his biological babies than Monica's nose and dimples.
9. 921 The One With The Fertility Test
Janice's surprise presence here reaps disastrous results for Chandler's sperm count, resulting in the adoption journey he and Monica take that leads them and their twins to ultimate happiness. It also ensures that the pregnancy two years later comes as a completely wonderful surprise.
Janice's role here is also to calm Chandler's fears about being a father. His friends are too close to him to see that their fruitless efforts are grating on their souls and Janice lends an outside perspective that reminds Chandler of what he's always though and felt in his heart, he and Monica are meant to be together and they're meant to have children.
10. 1015 The One Where Estelle Dies
Janice, emulating her role from season 7, gives Chandler another chance to stand up for himself, to fight for his future and his family against the force of nature that she is. He twists her words and issues guilt so that she will leave him and his family alone, finally learning that not only can he stand up for himself, but that he can do it without being hurtful and instead use his talent for wordplay and manipulation to his advantage and for the betterment of his family.
And if you don't want to read Janice as Deus ex machina, read her as the relationship that allows Chandler to grow up and stop idealising live, realising that the real this is work and takes time and is with Monica. But she does drop by like an ephemeral agent of destiny rather coincidentally when Chandler needs a boost, guiding him to happiness but never the solution to his loneliness.
There is also evidence of her guiding the other characters as well. She forces Joey to learn tolerance in a time when he has no friends outside the group. He's just lost his job and she attempts to show him how to cheer up a little. By dumping Ross she illustrates to him how ugly his moping and whining is, plus he gets to see that maybe he hasn't treated his friend, Chandler, so well if he keeps returning to this woman who smothers people with affection. And she reminds Rachel that her first priority should be Emma not her status with Ross for a time, letting her know that she has to learn to be self-sufficient and reliable to herself because no one else is going to help her raise Emma.

I'm a POC who writes mainly white characters but after seeing all the "diversity" posts on this site I'm wondering if I may be subconsciously prejudiced and now I don't know what to do. I feel like I've been doing everything wrong and yet I don't want to change my stories/characters to suit everyone else while not liking them myself.
To Write (or not write) with Diversity
No one can force you to write inclusive stories. Inclusive meaning media that consists of marginalized people, because that is what diversity really is - including people who have always been right there, but have been purposefully left out and erased from the pages of books and scripts. Those who are, when finally represented, are overwhelmingly assigned small, unflattering, and / or stereotypical roles.
Pages like Writing With Color are an offering. Our presence here is for those who choose to write with diversity. We aim to make being inclusive easier because we all believe in the importance of it. But as much as we know how enriching diversity can be, we cannot convince you to do something you don’t necessarily believe in.
Don’t do it because you feel forced
As you mentioned, you’ve read the posts. You know the facts. The decision cannot be forced upon you.  If anything, including diversity out of obligation alone could lead to bad representation. Forcing people to do things without motivation usually means it’ll lack effort, or be done with spite. Trust me when I say marginalized people don’t usually want to see themselves represented by someone who does not want them there. That unwelcome feeling shows. In short: Lack of representation hurts. Bad representation hurts worse.
I only ask that you have accountability.
Now that you’re aware that your works default to white, you have a choice to make. I think a lot of us grew up reading and writing very white stories - both as PoC and white people - but once you possess the knowledge that things can be different, your next step is a conscious one. You’re not on auto-pilot anymore when you make everyone white (and/or straight, able-bodied, etc). You know better now. Own up to your choices.
So ask yourself: why have I chosen to write without diversity?
I’m afraid to write People of Color.
Being uncomfortable writing People of Color is a big reason why people stick to writing white people, and only garnish their stories with PoC, if that. White people have long been the default, the everyman. White perspectives are “neutral” to approach. It’s daunting to go from feeling you can portray characters in whatever way you wish to suddenly having the weight of good versus harmful representation on your shoulders.
You don’t want backlash from getting it wrong. You also don’t want to be insensitive to groups. It’s easy to avoid writing them altogether, right? Sure.
Be aware, though:
You’re making a choice to exclude people out of fear.
Of course, new things are scary. But that’s okay! Courage is the ability to do things that frighten you. Face your fears. Will you shrink away from the challenge, or use it to your advantage?
Let the fear fuel you to do better and to know better. Your concerns about writing PoC can drive you to get the research right in order to best represent people. If your fear is leading to more effort into thoughtful creation, you’re putting it to good use.
Let me tell you right now - you will mess up.
Maybe in small ways, perhaps in a big way. But mistakes will not kick start the apocalypse. Ideally:
Do your research to avoid the most obvious and devastating mistakes from the jump.
Equip yourself with the right beta-reader and sensitivity readers to catch those things.
Even with errors, your story can be quite enjoyable for people who hardly see themselves represented. Yes, mistakes and all.
As a Black woman bookworm, if you write an exciting story about a Black girl on adventures and falling in love but mention a few questionable things about how she takes care of her hair…I will wince, but it won’t ruin the book for me. I’m willing to overlook some things, for the sake of my enjoyment, and let the author know how I felt about those parts in hopes they can improve.
Say you get something real important wrong. People call you out for it. I suggest you apologize, listen to their critiques, and do better. If possible, pull back the story and re-release when you’ve improved the piece. If that’s not an option, fix it in future works. Getting a finger wagged at you doesn’t mean lock up in fear and never write with diversity again. It means you improve.
Research PoC like you would on any topic:
For comparison’s sake, consider writing People of Color (or any group different from you) like writing other topics you’re unfamiliar with in-depth.
For example: You may know the basics on Medieval England. The knights, royalty, and so on. But i’m sure there’s a lot of misconceptions mixed in there from television or unreliable sources.
To write people from this perspective, you would do lots of additional research… right?
If someone mentioned how you messed up on some of the facts, you would take note and dig into it more for the future…right?
You might even have more experienced persons check your facts for accuracy beforehand to do the best job possible.
Approach researching PoC in the same way as other topics. There may not be hard facts on how to write an X character, but there are portrayals to avoid with explanations why, and roles people want to see themselves in.
I don’t like to be told what to write.
There’s this misconception that writing with diversity restricts creativity. I get it - there are things you’re being told not to do when writing certain groups. The lists of No’s can get dense. This reflects how poor representation has been for People of Color as there are a number of stereotypical portrayals folks are tired of seeing and has been detrimental to them.
Fiction simply reflects real life: People of Color being viewed through the lens of preconceived notions means being written on with those stereotypes in mind. It is a vicious cycle. Stereotypes are more than an annoyance - they can and do lead to real life consequences.
Being treated like a stereotype lowers our quality of life. Experiencing racism and daily microaggressions has a psychological effect - from insecurity, depression and PTSD - it is serious. (X)
Viewing People of Color by their stereotypes is what makes, say, a Black person who speaks with passion no matter what it’s about (and even if they’ve been wronged) too hostile and “Angry” to take seriously. If anything, they’re now a serious threat. And that’s dangerous for them.
Put yourself in the shoes of the overly typecast.
Think of a time someone misunderstood you. You had a bad day and acted grumpy. Well, being a grump defines who you are now. When asked, people describe you as crabby and humorless. Every new person you meet sees your every action through that lens.
Strangers tiptoe around you, as they can just tell you’re ill-tempered. Peers choose their words carefully, afraid of what might spark your wrath. Your children even inherit the title; teachers discipline them more and take other students’ word over theirs- your kids are snappy, difficult, and known to not play well with others, after all.
Wouldn’t that get old? Wouldn’t you feel it was unfair to be reduced to a label, and that you’re sick of being defined by it? Wouldn’t you have the desire to be seen for who you truly are, and can be? Perhaps you do get grumpy sometimes, which is just being human. You’re so much more than a grouch.
Stereotypes are not creative.
Writing outside of stereotypes open up so many more possibilities. How many times have we seen the Black Best Friend play out in media? You’re not being silenced when readers criticize your sassy sidekick. Your message has been heard, loud and clear - again and again and again. People are upset because it’s not anything new - in fact, it is quite old.  We want multiple portrayals. Why not create something new before you decide to write so closely to how we are always written?
OP said: I don’t want to change my stories/characters to suit everyone else while not liking them myself.
This should not be the case. Avoiding stereotypes has nothing to do with making unlikeable or even perfect characters. Simply make Characters of Color who go beyond stereotypes! Characters who are best friends without being arc-less doormats. Characters who are fierce and emotional and stand for something without being simplified to irrational, hostile, and angry.
Knowing the difference between stereotype and culture is important, too. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing something wrong when their bias means they perceive your character as being stereotypical, or problematic, when they’re not. (See: Stereotyped vs Nuanced Characters and Audience Perception.)
If anything, writing beyond hard labels leads to complex characters. Writing about new cultures is interesting and can be exciting.
If you only like your East Asian characters when they’re geniuses or your Black girls when they’re angry without a cause…do some self-reflection. Why do your Characters of Color only seem “right” to you when they are flat, or confined to stereotypes? Why not allow them to be complex humans?
I’m not convinced that representation matters.
Well, representation does matter. A lot. While it has been written on so much, and there being countless studies, statistics, and personal accounts to support this, I would like to mention…
Representation (or lack thereof) lowers self-worth.
Studies show TV boosts the self-esteem of white boys. The confidence of People of Color and girls of all races, on the other hand, decreases when watching TV (X X).
“If you want to make a human being into a monster, deny them, at the cultural level, any reflection of themselves.” -Junot Diaz
The Racial Empathy Gap.
I want to be brief (too late, right?) so let me just mention another point of research for you: the racial empathy gap. Stereotyped depictions and the limited roles for People of Color are internalized by society, leading to lack of empathy towards People of Color and the enforcement of stereotypes in real time. Lack of empathy actively affects how PoC are treated, such as the belief that Black people experience less pain than others and therefore are misdiagnosed (their illnesses and pain are downplayed) and under treated (X X X).
Fiction Increases Empathy.
In addition to the racial empathy gap, look into the studies on how fiction improves empathy. For example: reading about vampires increases empathy towards vampires. Imagine what non-stereotyped, marginalized depictions in fiction can do for empathy.  (X, X)
The strength in which people are against representation speaks volumes.
If representation does not matter, then why are some people so angry when it’s there? Let’s take book to movie depictions:
A Character of Color depicted as white simply means they were the best actor for the job, according to a vocal presence in social media.
However, even a verified Character of Color being depicted as such leads to boycotting, accusations of being “Politically-correct”, and wide complaints that they can’t relate to the characters and they are poor actors. Never mind that so many Actors of Color attend prestigious schools only to get so far.
The hypocrisy speaks to a need for more representation, and a prevalent lack of empathy.
The People Want Diversity!
On a positive note: shows that reflect the real world, aka include diversity, continue to get high ratings despite many obstacles: those who don’t want them there, lack of advertising or inconvenient airtime for shows with diverse leads, the ole bait-and-switch method, and hasty cancellations. Not to mention media simply refusing to be inclusive even when they know “diversity sells” (X X). Gee, I wonder why….
Audiences are more drawn to projects that feature a diverse cast, a new study finds, though mirroring the population in the United States remains a problem.
“Less-diverse product underperforms in the marketplace, and yet it still dominates,” said Ana-Christina Ramón, the report’s co-author and assistant director of the Bunche Center. “This makes no financial sense.”
-Diversity in Hollywood Pays Off in Ratings and Box Office, New Study Finds
Diversity simply reflects the real world accurately.
There is nothing forced about diversity. People of Color exist in the real world, go out and about, and have lives. Creators including marginalized people only seems strange because media actively scratches them out as much as possible, pulling the marginalized out of focus to zoom in on white characters. That is what’s unrealistic.
Ultimately, you, the writer, will write what you want. Just ask yourself why you have decided this is what you want to write. Are you okay with that reason? Despite all the progress that is being made, you’ll blend in just fine with all of the other mostly white books and movies out there. And as people become more conscious and bored with the same stories, we can and will choose to ignore whitewashed media.
The good thing is that there’s so much awareness and activism going on with representation; the path has been paved for you and it is not lonely!
There are resources out there, and WWC continues to be one of them.

The endorphins released by physical activity result in a sense of well-being and happiness. You can also better your self-esteem and confidence by getting in shape. This means you may be a few workouts short of happiness. In order to better improve your game of volleyball, you should aim to improve your contact skills. One great way to work on these is through the table game of foosball. This is a game that requires both keen reflexes and excellent hand-eye co-ordination. Once you have developed the skills for Foosball, you can transfer them to volleyball. It is important to take a break when your body is telling you that you need one. Some personal trainers advise only resting when you are finished with a set. In reality, listening to your body should take priority over listening to your trainer. Do not hesitate to pause when needed. If you do not there is a chance you will hurt yourself. Try lifting weights while running. Many runners don't think about resistance training as a supplement to their jogging, but it is wise to reconsider this notion. Research has proven that runners who regularly strength-train run faster and farther than those who do not. Roller blades can be fun and also act as a great fitness tool. Although roller blading is no longer as trendy as it once was, it remains a great, and fun, method for burning calories. Another benefit of rollerblades is that they are very easy to find. Now that you read the information from above, you should be aware of what it takes to achieve a good level of fitness. Nothing can stop you from reaching your goals when you are motivated and continue to do the right things. You will quickly see benefits that will last for the rest of your life.

Questions To Ask On Uncomplicated Methods Of Canada
The tax-recovery figures were compiled by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, the Washington-based organization that co-ordinated global reporting on the Panama Papers. The ICIJ was able to get data from 15 countries, among them Mexico ($27 million in unpaid tax recouped), Lithuania (a modest $377,000) and even the tax haven of Malta ( $9.4 million ).    The CRA, meanwhile, says it is still auditing 123 taxpayers tied to the Panama Papers, and it is far too soon to talk about how much money could be collected from them. "These files are complex and will take time to complete," spokesperson Patrick Samson said in an email, explaining that, among other things, the CRA has to wait until taxpayers exhaust any appeals before it can collect from them, which can add years to the timeline. "The CRA has reported on collections related to offshore projects in the past, some four to seven years after the projects ... started," the agency said. One such example is a 2008 leak of banking records from HSBC in Geneva that ultimately led to more than $60 million collected by the CRA and Revenue Quebec.  "The CRA will report on the Panama Papers project collections at a similar stage of the project." That means the agency likely won't provide a number for how much — if any — unpaid tax it might recoup from the Panama Papers until at least spring 2020. Another factor that is slowing down the tax-recovery process: The CRA isn't allowing anyone identified in the Panama Papers to make a voluntary disclosure, except under what it called "exceptional circumstances," so that they don't get the amnesty from penalties and criminal prosecution normally provided under the program. That means CRA auditors will have to grind through potentially thousands of pages of paperwork to trace hidden money, without the benefit of taxpayers volunteering the information. But Sen. Downe said the CRA's inability to point to any money it's recovered so far from the Panama Papers, while more than a dozen other countries can, shows the agency doesn't take offshore tax evasion and avoidance seriously. "Compare that to domestic tax evasion, where the revenue agency does a very good job if you're trying to hide your money in Canada and not pay taxes. But on overseas tax evasion, they give people a free pass," he said.

Best Tips On Becoming A Great Basketball Player
Countless people derive euphoric thrills from playing or watching the game of basketball. However, the truth is that many people have a lot to learn about the sport's benefits. Check out the article below for some simple ways to learn more about this great sport. Figure out how to perfect your free throw. This is something that seems simple, but in reality it can be hard. You should practice as often as possible with this technique. Start out by holding the basketball right in front of you. Keep looking towards the goal and think about the ball getting into that goal. Then shoot! Shoot the ball in the trajectory you imagined. Free throws require both mental and physical abilities. Making the right physical motions is easier than having the right mind set. Stay relaxed and just focus on the goal and you will increase your free throw rate. To learn how to pass well, drill without dribbling. It's tough to play basketball minus the dribbling, and it causes you to pass accurately. Work through the initial frustration and see how the challenge will improve your game in the long run. One of the keys to becoming a great basketball player is developing core muscles. That means their hips, lower back and abs. The core is what holds the body in balance and allows the limbs to work well. Building strong core muscles will allow your to jump higher, run faster and maintain your balance. Build your core strength and focus on your legwork when you train for basketball. Your body will be more stable and easier to move when you have strength in your core muscles. Don't forget to also work out muscles in your back, buttocks, abdomen and hips. Jumping rope is great for improving your footwork and also helping you to gain speed. Have your games taped so you can play them back later and observe your court presence. Are you able to see what you've missed or things that you could improve on? Evaluate what you see honestly, but don't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes you have to face reality about your skills and just not dream about how you want to be. In order to perfect your layup shooting technique practice, take off with your left foot if you shoot with your right hand and vice versa. So, if you shoot using your left hand, launch with your right foot. Your body will be better balanced and moving in the direction of the basket. Your body will also be kept between the defender and yourself. Good footwork can really help you to get those rebounds. You'll have a defender coming at you and this means you have to figure out what can be done to get around them. You are able to rebound the ball without fouling someone. If you want a 2-3 zone to be turned into a machine that traps, your two defenders that are guarding should wait until your point guard is around ten feet past mid court. Then, they ought to trap the point guard. It also lets you have forwards on blocks sprint to the wing players. Their point guard will probably hurl a pass that is easy for your own forwards to steal. Basketball is something you can get benefits from by playing it, or just by watching it. But, to really ensure that you are getting everything basketball has to offer, it pays to get as informed on the topic as possible. Hopefully, everything that you read here brought you much close to helping you understand this sport.

So I guess what I'm saying is, I don't want my cousin to resolve to starving because of a youtuber she idolizes. she's far from fat, but she is a lil bit chunky and I've noticed it really bothers her. I don't know how to help her, cause I think she's been influenced by Eugenia (and possibly other pro Ana people) to starve and it worries me, cause my aunt doesn't really think much of it and I don't know how to help her before it actually gets out of control.
The only way you can really help people like me who are anorexic or just desire to start starving themselves like that is to just be there for them. There’s really not a lot you can do. You can help by bringing her her favourite foods when she hasn’t eaten in a while if you’re close enough to her to do that. Just think “What food will be irresistible if I bring it home to her?” That’s how my mom got me to eat when I had starved myself down to 90lbs. I’m very sorry that she looks up to someone so awful. Therapy helps, as well. If you could get her into therapy, that would be a way to help. Professionals can help a lot more than anyone else can. But, really, all you can do is be there for her and say positive things to her. . .compliment her. Say “You’re looking good today” or something similar that alludes to her appearance. A simple compliment like that can go a long way for someone who is anorexic. Boost her self esteem with compliments and being there for her if she needs someone to talk to. Don’t ever say anything negative about her appearance or weight. And if she starts losing weight via starving, don’t say things like “Wow you look so skinny” or “Congratulations on your weight loss”. Those kind of comments may seem like a compliment, but to an anorexic person, that’s basically the same thing as saying “I hope you keep starving yourself” and basically congratulating her for doing something completely unhealthy. You don’t want to do that. When I was down at 90lbs, I got so many comments and compliments on my weight loss that it literally almost killed me because it felt like no one wanted me as an overweight or healthy weight person. It felt like I finally knew what all my “friends” and “loved ones” were thinking of me when I was 120lbs before I got down to 90lbs. It made me want to starve even more. And every time someone compliments me when I lose weight, I get very triggered on the inside but secretly love it, as well, which makes the starving get severe because I want more praise. It’s like pavlovian conditioning. Praise her and she’s going to be more likely to starve for longer periods and will grow up starving herself.
My entire family has anorexic mindsets. Even my grandmother does. Albeit they don’t starve themselves, they are all obsessed with weight and losing weight. My mom especially. So I get lots of compliments and praise when I lose weight and it makes me feel so fucking awful about myself that it causes me to get self harm and suicidal urges. Because if I’m getting complimented for losing weight, then what could these people have possibly thought about me when I was a higher weight? It’s toxic to get caught up in the compliments. Please just don’t ever compliment her on losing weight. And don’t act like you’re happy when she loses it unless she has done it through a healthy diet and exercise.
Maybe offer to go exercise with her? That could really help. I know I feel ridiculous working out on my own; I need someone to work out with me otherwise I lose confidence in what I am doing and I won’t be able to get out of bed to do it due to how badly I feel about my body. I also suggest finding a way to talk her out of watching this toxic youtuber. No one needs toxic vibes in their life and that’s just one more toxic thing for her to get into. Maybe introduce her to some REAL idols. Emma Watson is a good person to obsess over, as an example. Focus on positive traits in people and find a good role model for her and introduce her to the person’s work.
Also, sit down with her and talk with her about this. Don’t just leave your worries inside you. Actually talk to her (giving her compliments along the way) and make sure she understands how it’s affecting you and show her that she’s important to you and that you love her just the way she is and that a lot of people are going to love her just the way she is. Try to illustrate that there’s nothing wrong with the body she has and that she’s beautiful the way she is.
This may all fall on deaf ears, though. Sometimes the only thing that works with anorexic people is time. For me, personally, it didn’t matter how many people cared about me and were worried about me. I didn’t think it truly affected anyone but myself. Try to also illustrate that it will affect all the people around her if she goes down this path and that she will cause everyone in her life a lot of pain. Don’t try to make her feel guilty or anything. . .just calmly explain how anorexia can destroy relationships. But like I was saying, I didn’t stop or want to stop or even try to stop until I reached where I am now (at the age of 25).
I used to eat paper instead of food when I was very little because I was under the impression that you had to eat something to survive but I knew even then that food made you fat, so I just ate paper instead. This was in elementary school. It wasn’t until I ended up very sick and in the hospital that they sent me to an eating disorder clinic and I overheard them telling my parents that there was something wrong with me. I thought they meant physically at the time, so I remember going up to them to tell them that my tummy didn’t hurt and I didn’t have a cold, so “can I go home now?” They tried to explain to me that I was having psychological problems but I didn’t understand at that age. I developed anorexia due to my parents always commenting on my weight and the things I was eating. That’s why it manifested at such an early age because I had to be “the perfect child” and “no child who is fat can be perfect” according to my parents. All I wanted was to please my parents and be the perfect child they wanted so I just ate paper in place of meals for the longest time and continued getting very sick from it. I was rewarded by my family when I lost weight coz they were so proud of me (again, still in elementary school) so I got it into my head that I needed to keep losing weight in order to be praised. Your cousin doesn’t need that kind of anguish in her life so you need to talk to her about this and be open with your feelings. But, again, it might just take time. Years, maybe. Just be sure to be there for her and completely understanding during this rough period in her life.
But remember. . .you can’t really get help unless you want it. As long as she doesn’t want to be helped, she’s not going to get help. Even from a professional. I was put into mandatory therapy when I was 18 following a trip to my first psych ward. The therapy didn’t help one bit, despite my therapist being an excellent practitioner, merely because I didn’t actually want help. Same thing for ana. If your cousin doesn’t want help, there’s no way to force it on her. But you can let her know what she’s in store for if she starts starving. Look up the side effects of starving and show them to her. Make sure she understands what she’s getting herself into. You literally can’t really go out and have fun with friends if you’re starving yourself because your body is so weak that all you can really do in life is lay in bed and cry because you haven’t been able to leave the house in such a long time. Especially because of the constipation and diarrhea. And when she does actually eat something, it will be so painful to her stomach that she won’t be able to get out of bed. If someone really wants to starve themselves, they better really like laying in bed and never seeing anyone because that’s the life of an anorexic person. They also better really like going to the hospital because there’s going to be a lot of complications along the way that wind you up hospitalized. And they’ve better like being locked up. . .because sooner or later, they’ll be locked in an ED clinic.
But anyways. . .I hope I helped in some way. I’m not sure if any of this is very helpful. :/ I really suggest you ask a professional. I’m merely someone with an eating disorder and I don’t hold any psych degrees or anything like that. Never even been through a single psych class. A professional can give you actual, good advice, unlike me. I really hope you can get through to her because ana is a very dark place to be in. Idk what would really help other than time because that’s the only thing that helped me.
But please note I’m still only just beginning my recovery from anorexia. I still starve to this day. I keep going back and forth being “just starve yourself. You’re not skinny enough.” to “just get it over with and eat the thing. You’ll feel better.”
Also there are medications you can put someone on to literally force them to eat because of the insatiable urges they invoke. And there are medications to help someone gain weight if her weight gets too low. They can be prescribed by a family doctor, even. . .no psych required. These medications are literally torture for an anorexic person like me and I would never use them, but if it gets bad with your cousin, there’s ways to help with medication.
Although the one thing I can say for sure is that therapy is a staple need for people with anorexia. Especially if it’s severe like mine is. And along with anorexia sometimes comes body dysmorphia so watch out for that, too.
Again, I really hope this helped somehow. I’m not too great at giving advice. I really hope everything goes okay and that your cousin will stop watching this toxic person on youtube.
