I agree with you re Tartie. Much better as friends. And it felt incredibly lazy forcing them together at the end. Why can’t they be single?
It's such a "we don't know what else to do with them" move. I hate it when stories feel the need to leave everyone with a love interest, it reinforces such archaic ideals of what a happy ending is. I think Tartie's happy ending would have been becoming a platonic power duo. Or, if they had to get back together at least have more of a buildup than a single scene in A Wedding suggesting they'd settle for each other if no one else came along. Come on, that's just sad.
Again, I don't have anything huge against them as a couple and deffo not against the people supporting Tartie as a romantic ship. And I also understand Jenna and Kevin themselves pushed for a Tartie endgame. I just think it falls very flat.

Some unpopular opinions…please don’t block me.
- Sam was a terrible boyfriend to Mercedes, especially in S5B. They had chemistry but I wish he learned to treat her right and it stuck.
- Sam is praised for the bare minimum which puts me off him.
- Finn, Quinn, and Brittany have nice voices.
- I like Tartie more than Tike since we saw more of them and got to know their characters better. They’re one of my favourite endgame couples.
- S1 Finn was the best Finn. S4 Finn called a child a slur and beat up Brody, which soured him for me there. S1 Finn was horrible for calling Kurt a slur but I genuinely think he wanted to make amends and educate himself (until the next Slur Sunday comes around… 🙄)
- Carole deserves as much praise as Burt.
- Previously Unaired Christmas is the best episode in the entire show.

+ Agree. Honestly I blame most of that on Sam's character assassination. Likeee he was chill and well meaning at first and then they kept bouncing him between Finn 2.0 and a total bonehead (so Finn 2.0) and it was upsetting. It is hard for me to get into Samcedes fr in canon bc of how weird their relationship canonically is

What made you ship Tartie?
Well, I started liking it in S1, before I actually cared too much about Tina as an individual character. I though it was cute, but I didn’t pay much attention to it. S2 and S3 they broke up and Tina got together with Mike which prevented me from getting any more invested in it, though I didn’t start shipping Tike, although they were very cute.
Then starting from Props I think, I became more interested in Tina’s character? So by default I was more interested in her pairings. Since S4-5 came after and Mike was booted off the show I still didn’t become into Tike, neither the creepy Blaine crush. I liked her relationship with Artie, and liked his character since S1, so I started hoping they would get back together.
Frenemies is what sold me. Hear me out, I’m a sucker for Friends to Enemies/Rivals to Lovers so that helped, plus the Pezberry parallels were just the cherry on top.
And then they were endgame so
So anyway, that’s how I became a Tartie fan. Thanks for asking anon!
