Some good news.. 18TH ANNUAL BLACK AND WHITE SPIDER AWARDS HONORS PHOTOGRAPHER KOEN VAN DAMME FROM BELGIUM LOS ANGELES NOVEMBER 22, 2023 - Professional photographer Koen Van Damme of Belgium was presented with the 18th Annual Black and White Spider Awards 2nd Place - Merit of Excellence in the category of Architectural at a prestigious Nomination & Winners Photoshow streamed Saturday, November 18, 2023. Innovative and super-aethestically-pleasing interior remodel in the East Bay by architect Sky Lanigan, @skylaniganstudios. This was a really fun project to shoot: textures and colors and broad design strokes - and a practical space for living.

Photography by @fedekufoto "M 5605 is a horizontal property building located in the Villa Urquiza neighborhood with ten functional units, on a small corner lot measuring 8.80 × 12.72 m. It is located in a medium residential fabric, adjacent to the F.F.C.C. Mitre. Multiple contextual relationships are proposed, from incorporating the public space into the interior of its entire ground floor, from a single floor. Like the recognition of its pre-existing boundaries, inferring possible relationships and distances from its expansions. Exploring the Temple of Literature: Stepping out of the van, I was immediately drawn to the majestic gates of the Temple of Literature. Despite our guide's warning about pickpockets, the day unfolded peacefully. Trees embraced the heritage site, and four tall pillars greeted me on the road leading to the Great Gate.

Journeying through the second courtyard, the expansive middle gate revealed a rare sight: lotus flowers, a rarity in my homeland.

The allure of Khue Van Pavilion guided me to the Well of Heavenly Clarity, housing statues of Vietnam's Holy Creatures—the Turtle, Dragon, Unicorn, and Phoenix.

In the sacred fourth courtyard, Confucius and Chu Văn An's statues stood amidst lacquer-finished columns and distinctive shell-shaped roof tiles, unique to Vietnam.

Entering the fifth courtyard felt like a voyage to another era, hosting a museum and a temple for learning/ crafts. Learning about its history, I discovered it's a space designed for students and their classrooms.

Reflecting on the overall layout of the entire complex is organized, starting from its welcoming gate, guiding you through pathways, trees, gardens, and ponds. In the third and fourth courtyards, you walk spiritually before delving into learning and studying. The fifth courtyard marks the end, where I realized that it is a step-by-step process to learn. It's amazing that Vietnam has built a place honoring the educated.

Ryan Companies built the newly developed 2-acre vertical farming greenhouse for Eden Green Technology in Cleburne, Texas.

The facility will produce approximately 1.8 million pounds of greens annually in the 62,500-square-foot space that will grow more than 200 products. That’s 11 to 13 harvests per year compared to 1-2 harvests that traditional farming methods produce. This greenhouse module strives to use 99% less land and 98% less water than soil-based farms. Eden Green donates 10 percent of their yield to charity. The rest is pre-sold to retailers and distributors.

Stained glass windows Christ Church Cathedral Sparks St. The old church but in built in 1824 was to small for the growing parish so a new church was proposed. The chief corner stone of the new building was laid July 3, 1872. The building was designed as a cathedral 120 years ago.

The cathedral was designated for its historical & significant architectural interest or value by the city Ottawa in 1974. In 1990 architect Julian S. Smith carried out a $3.5 million restoration. Although some small grants came from the provincial & federal government the restoration was mostly funded by parishioners, parish groups & outside well wishers.

This an English Gothic style architecture. The 1st service was Held on Sept 29, 1873. Captured in downtown Ottawa, Canada Oct 24, posted Oct 25, 2022.
