heyyyyyy, this totally isn't Synth....gimme some Arial lore pls and thank you
-Sincerely, 💾 Anon
Ok, here goes a lore dump lol:
Arial is about 18, she likes to cook with Papyrus despite not liking to taste his food (She often gets food from Grillby’s cause she’s the only 1 with taste buds). She likes to go to Alphys’ lab tp hang out with her crush Val (Another half monster half human oc), in the Pacifist route if you befriend her (only pacifist routes in the past) she will appear and help you rescue sans and papyrus (blocking some attacks etc), if you’ve done a nonpacifist route in the past u will have to save her too (genocide mechanics do not apply to this battle tho), she does the following attacks during the pacifist fight; bones, knifes (regular knifes) , and blue soul magic like her brothers. During the genocide battle she does the following attack; Bones, knifes, soul magic etc. (type of magic is shown in gem on her sword | blue magic = normal blue magic stuff, orange magic + pale blue magic = normal magic stuff, yellow swords = similar to blaster attack, red knives = determination knives, which deal 1.5 more damage then the regular knives, kindness knife heals arial and shields her from the next attack if it hits you, it doesn’t damage you though it just helps arial, unless you hit the middle of the attack bar to which it will hurt her), Purple magic= strings like muffits but there are knives on the strings and you have to avoid them (Regular knives will cut the strings and give you less room to move as it gets smaller and smaller). During the genocide route, she will dodge like sans, but since she is less experienced your attacks will graze her, but not enough to kill her, she dies like sans when you hit her head on while she is exhausted, however she doesn’t fall asleep, more like knows you are going to kill her so she kneels down and cries apologizing to everyone she couldn’t avenge, and you have one last change to reset and spare her before you kill her and complete the genocide route (her fight takes place after you kill Asgore and Flowey). She also has this mechanic where if she kills you 15 times, on the fifteenth death she resets, and if you decide to start a genocide again, she will come into the ruins and kill you (Think of it as still part of the same run, kind of like in pacifist it divides into two sections, like that) and you won’t be able to befriend her again, as she will always glare at you, and fight you before you get to the lab, even though it isn’t to the extent of the genocide route fight. Her favorite food is chocolate and her favorite flower is buttercups (even though she never really knows why). She likes to bake and watch anime with Val, Alphys, and Undyne even though something deep inside her tells her it isn't human history. She hates puns, however she doesn’t let Sans know that as she will ask him to tell her some jokes whenever she sees he is feeling down. She has ADHD, PTSD, and Depression (although those last two are because of you and the resets, and the trauma they cause). She can teleport like sans, however she isn’t the best at it, so she always teleports under Sans supervision. She loves dogs and even brought one into the house. She named it Toby but eventually had to get rid of him when he chewed up Sans’ slippers and stole Sans’ leg. Ok now for a question I get asked a lot whenever I show this character and explain some of the lore why doesn’t she just reset whenever she knows Frisk is doing a genocide route, and why is she able to kill Frisk. The answer to the second question came from a random thought I had in my head which was, if other humans have a determination soul, then how can humans kill them? And the solution I came up with was that if a human kills another human, then their soul ability doesn’t function, and since Ariel is half human that counts. The answer to the first question is similar to why Flowey can’t reset when you join the underground, it’s because your determination is greater than his. Human determination beats Flowey’s determination, and since Flowey is pure determination, it beats Ariel's since she only has half determination.

Michael and Gerry petsitting puppy Tim
Characters: Michael Shelley, Gerard Keay, Tim Stoker
Verse: the Magnus Archives, human pet au (Tim is a half human half canine pet owned by John and Martin.)
“Instructions for taking care of Tim,” Gerry began, flicking through the booklet John and Martin had given them when they dropped him off to be looked after for a few days. He was lounging on the sofa whilst Michael was sat on the floor next to Tim who was laid on his large dog bed, stretched out smiling with Michael rubbing his belly. Tim’s eyes were half lidded, a smile on his face as if he’d reached peak contentment. “I think John is taking this a little far, you know.”
“Well, they’ve not left him before. And he’s not very good at being alone,” Michael pointed out. “And he’s such a good handsome boy,” he added to Tim, who gave a little content bark in response.
“Wow, this guy eats better than we do,” Gerry said before clearing his throat. “For breakfast, he likes bacon, sausages, and/or eggs - his favourite is scrambled. For lunch, usually we give him bread, cheese, and some sliced meat, and sometimes he has sausage rolls or a steak slice from Greggs. For dinner, he’ll basically have what we’re having. He gets a sweet treat once after dinner. Do not give him: anything too spicy - it makes him sick, or too many snacks in between - I have given you the maximum amount of jerky and lardons to give him over three days. Portions are the same as you would give yourself.”
“Wow, who’s a gourmet puppy,” Michael said, giving Tim scratches behind the ear.
“Oh, he’s given us money to cover it,”
“Do you want some treats?” At this Tim’s two ears perked up, at one point they were hidden from how overgrown and dishevelled his hair was. Now his waves are much neater and his two reddish ears pointed up and flopped a little at the top.
“I dunno, we’ve only got a limited-” Before Gerard could finish, Michael had grabbed the jerky from Tim’s bag. Tim spun onto his knees his eyes lit up as Michael threw the treat a few feet away causing Tim to run after it, grabbing it in his mouth and wagging his thick reddish tail.
“Okay but-” Gerard began as Michael threw Tim another. Gerard sighed and kept flicking through the booklet. “Apparently he humps things and if he does we’re supposed to tell him to go fuck his toy or one of his teddies depending on if he is just scratching or wants to fuck something.”
“I dunno, he’s pretty. I’d be okay with him humping my leg,” Michael said as he looked at Tim’s green eyes and defined cheekbones. When he came back to him after fetching the jerky he stroked his back where the red fur met his pale skin.
“We are not sending him back to John and Martin twenty pounds heavier and humping everything in sight,” Gerard frowned. Tim looked at him with a tilted head before bounding over to him and jumping on the sofa. He patted at his arm with his hands that were folded over like paws, Gerard put an arm around him and scratched his back. “Wait, are you allowed on the furniture?” He asked flicking through the booklet.
“He is now,” Michael grinned.

Mixer jackbox party pack 5
Tumblr media
The main game mode(s) revolve around chucking opponents off levels and into hazards to be the last jelly humanoid standing, and matches descend into chaos the second they start, with stages falling to pieces as the contenders lollop around haphazardly. It's an anything-goes physics-based brawler where colourful blob people toss one another around, and the unpredictability of the systems and inherent fiddly nature of the controls makes for many a hilarious moment. Gang Beasts is a very silly game, but that's the point. And while multiplayer might not be the main focus, it's a fantastic addition all the same - this novel experience is even more enjoyable as a shared one. The art style feels a little off but animation is decent, and there are some pretty great deep cuts on the licensed soundtrack. Note streaks in music games are typically little more than a means to reach higher scores, so seeing tight timing turn into more effective combat here gives The Metronomicon a real sense of reward. While you can play solo just fine, it's way more fun to get some friends involved and play one role each, levelling and gearing up your individual characters until you've got your own powerful and unique dance troupe that is capable of decking dragons. The beat-matching action is a simple four-directional affair akin to DDR in its presentation, and each of your four party members has their own chart above them. The Metronomicon is similar in approach to those greats, fusing RPG structure and mechanics with rhythm-action gameplay to surprising effect. Google Hangout apparently also has very low latency but I haven't tried that yet.Slamming two completely different genres together can lead to some truly original gaming experiences, from match-three RPG Puzzle Quest to musical roguelike Crypt of the Necrodancer. Nowadays it can even be shared through only a single link, meaning not even a Steam installation (and afaik not even a Steam account) is needed at the viewers/clients end. This puts Steam Remote Play maybe on an even better spot than Discord in this field. The input transfer is not important for Jackbox directly as the interaction from the viewers works over anyway, this fact does show that this service is completely focused on ultra-low latency screen sharing because that's what's needed for playing local coop games online, even more than for Jackbox Games. In contrast to Steam Broadcast, the 2019 released service Steam Remote Play streams not only the screen from the host to the viewers but also button inputs from the viewers to the host, as it is designed for any local coop game to work over the internet. This is probably the easiest and best way for anyone to play Jackbox Games over the internet. As they are so relatively limited in terms of viewer count, it allows the stream to have way less latency. These are still limited to few people (compared to Youtube and Twitch) but enough for any Jackbox Games round. Apparently there are ultra-low-latency modes in Youtube and Twitch (look up this link) and they are "fine" but it's still meant for streaming for a big crowd, so it's still not the best way do play Jackbox Games.ĭiscord supports screen sharing in private calls and in voice chats on servers. While Twitch and Youtube (and Steam Broadcast) still focus on massive amount of viewers (obviously), latency still takes a hit with that services. Just for 2021 and onwards a new view on this topic:

Nyx x Tamlin’s daughter
Okay so literally no one asked for this but I gotta write when inspiration strikes 😭😭but I got like a whole story line for these two in my head so if people like it I’ll write more
"They're late."
"They'll be here. Just give them a moment."
"I told you they wouldn't come. Tamlin has never gotten over his grudge."
"Anyone else think this is lame?"
"Why are we even doing this?"
"We need to make peace with the Spring Court. This stupid feud has gone on long enough." Feyre declared from her spot at the dinner table.
Nyx thought his presence at this meeting was pointless. It was not his duty to befriend his mother's ex-lover. Alas, Violet, his youngest sister, and him seemed to have been roped into this evening.
"It's been over a hundred years and Tamlin is still pining over you? Yikes." Violet unhelpfully chimed in. Nyx rolled his eyes at her.
"He's not pining over me. I do not know why he has held a grudge all these years, but that's what this meeting is for." Their mother responded. She was obviously nervous from the amount of squirming she was doing in her chair. She had yet to remain still since they all sat down together.
"My High Lord and Lady, Lucien has arrived with your guests." One of the guards entered the dining hall. Feyre let out a deep breathe and adjusted her crown. Something she always did when she felt nervous.
"Send them in."
Nyx had never met the High Lord of the Spring Court, so he was not sure what to expect. Tamlin walked in with more confidence than Nyx would have assumed. He certainly exuded authority. Shoulder length blonde hair, tall, strong build, sharp facial features. Nyx could understand why his mother was so smitten with Tamlin at first. Nyx quickly lost interest in Lucien and Tamlin when the third guest walked into his line of sight. It was a beautiful woman. He could already tell she was young for fae years, but her tattoos and scars revealed she had to be old enough to have lived through the most recent war. Her white blonde hair was pulled up into a half bun much like Cassian often wore his hair. The pieces that were down barely reached her shoulders but a few of the pieces were braided by her ears. She was almost as tall as Tamlin and athletically built. She was built like the Valkyries, all muscle. Nyx thought it made her more intimidating; though, the tattoos on her face made that apparent enough. She had black markings that started above her right eyebrow, curved around her temple, and stopped at her cheekbone. They appeared to be similar to the Illyrian tattoos except hers were harsher, blunter lines. Most Illyrian tattoos flowed and ebbed with the body. These facial markings had defined endings. Perhaps it was a language that Nyx did not know. The tattoos did a good job of emphasizing her sharp facial features. Prominent cheekbones and a long sharp nose along with bright green eyes and large lips made her face more intriguing than conventionally beautiful. She walked with so much confidence that Nyx was certain she was well sought after by many suitors. He would just have to get in line it seemed. He continued to observe her as they all took their seats at the table and exchanged pleasantries. Her face remained impassive though. She gave nothing away. She wore a pale pink dress that Nyx knew was meant to make her seem less threatening. He would not underestimate her no matter how much Tamlin wanted him too. Pleasantries were exchanged all around the table except for the woman who remained silent. Tamlin was less than social which ended up making the greetings more than a little uncomfortable.
"I apologize, but I do not think we have met before." Rhysand began. "Are you Tamlin's wife?"
Nyx wanted to laugh at that. She was much too young to be the High Lord's wife. Besides, if Tamlin had gotten married, Nyx would have heard of it. He was certain his parents would have too. A small smile finally graced her lips as Tamlin snorted a laugh himself.
"I am Isa." Is all she offered. Nyx watched as the small smile continued to play at her lips. She was toying with them. She enjoyed that they didn't know who she was.
"Isa is my daughter and heir to the spring court." Tamlin finally answered after a long pause. Nyx watched as his mother's jaw hit the floor which caused Isa to giggle. It seemed so out of character for the intimidating looking female that Nyx decided to make a game out of it. How many times could he get her to giggle like that in one evening?
"I was not aware you had a daughter, Tam." His mother tried to recover and seemingly failed. The nickname that slipped so easily from her mouth had the high lord's face hardening. Nyx stifled a groan at that. His mother wondered why this high lord did not prefer her company? Perhaps she should stop insinuating that they have known each other intimately at one point or another.
"That would be by design." The woman answered with a slight accent. He didn't hear it when she first spoke, but he could hear it now as the last word was sharper. He couldn't place the accent though. It did not sound like a spring court one, but it could be an eastern accent. It did not make much sense for her to have lived in Hybern or any of the other eastern countries, but he was not sure where else that it would come from.
"What do the tattoos mean?" Violet quickly changed the subject. She was too curious for her age and asked the first thing that popped into her head often enough. She was clearly as intrigued by Isa as he was.
"They protect me from the evils of man." The accent was heavier, but Violet was clearly in awe. Nyx would not be surprised if Violet came home with face tattoos tomorrow. The table became unusually quiet. His mother and father studied her with identical cocked heads. Lucien cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Witch." Amren accused from her spot at the head of the table. Isa's lips twitched into a half smirk, but Rhysand and Feyre were clearly unnerved. Nyx contemplated this new information. It would explain the accent. Young witches grow up in their coven completely isolated from the outside world. Most of the witches he had run into had a variation of this type of accent.
"Tamlin, I want this meeting to broker peace between our two courts," Rhysand started wearily. "But your daughter may not practice any witchcraft here. It only brings chaos and destruction."
Tamlin seemed unphased which put Nyx at ease. If her father was unworried then was she truly a threat? Only if Tamlin wanted her to be, Nyx supposed.
"You will find my daughter more accommodating than myself. If you want something from her, I suggest you ask her."
Rhysand looked towards Isa with raised eyebrows.
"Your lack of knowledge and ignorance of witchcraft is insulting at best. However, I suppose I shall limit my abilities to that of my natural magic for the remainder of the evening." She gave a shrug and finally made eye contact with Nyx.
She sent him a quick wink before turning back to Rhysand with the look of pure innocence on her face. Nyx knew in that moment that she would be trouble, and unfortunately for him, he loved trouble. Nyx looked towards his parents and began to feel unnerved by their expressions. They must know something about witches that Nyx did not.
Nyx had discovered quite a bit from them as he often liked to share a bed with them. They proved to be up for anything with no expectations or strings attached. He would not be surprised if they had a bad reputation though. He rarely paid attention to his history lessons and the witches he interacted with seemed innocent enough.
"My husband meant no offense." Feyre interrupted before Rhysand could say anymore. "We would love to learn more. Perhaps you could give our son lessons on your culture." She gave Isa a wide smile and offered her the first bowl of food. None of the food had been touched even though it sat ready to eat. Nyx guessed tensions were too high for anyone to think about eating.
He narrowed his eyes at his mother. If he were to take lessons from Isa, it would not be to learn her culture of witchcraft, but an excuse to spy on her and learn her strengths and weaknesses. His mother was more cunning than the fae gave her credit for. Isa seemed unphased by this offer, but accepted the bowl of food nonetheless. She was the first to begin eating. Once she took her first bite though, everyone else joined in.
"I would be much more interested in a marriage proposal than a cultural lesson." She said so nonchalantly that most of the table just stared at her blankly as Nyx spit his wine out.
"Sorry." He spluttered, quickly trying to wipe away the wine that dribbled onto his chin. Nyx looked to Tamlin to see that the High Lord was vaguely amused and his daughter was giggling. He noted the giggle in his head as one point in his game to get Isa to giggle. He was still counting it even if it was unintentional this time around.
"We are not arranging political marriages for our children." Nyx's father quickly recovered, only to watch Isa warily as he spoke. "We are allowing the children to marry as they see fit."
Nyx wished his dad would shut up. A beautiful female basically throws herself at Nyx and his father is shooting her down for him. He groaned internally. Nyx could have his pick of females. It was not as if he was lacking in that realm, but he wanted this particular female who was bound to cause chaos. Not that he wanted to marry her, but he had a feeling that she did not want to truly marry him either. After tonight, he had a feeling that the new rule would be that Nyx could marry whoever he wanted to as long as it was not Tamlin's daughter. Though it did seem like a smart move politically. Ever since his mother left Tamlin for Nyx's father, there has been bad blood between the courts. A marriage would be a good way to heal that after all these years.
"Does it appear that my father speaks for me?" Isa smiled as she asked the rhetorical question. Nyx could tell his father did not exactly know how to take that. Was she disrespecting him or being genuine? Nyx couldn’t truly tell either. Although, he had a sneaking suspicion it was the former.
She smiled more than he initially would have thought. Grant it, most of the smiles were sarcastic, but he assumed she would be more like Nesta just based on looks. From this small interaction, she already seemed more like Elain.
"Isa can marry whoever she wants." Tamlin waved his hand as if to say none of it really mattered. Nyx found it interesting that Tamlin would not seem to mind if she were to marry his ex-lovers child.
"Isa is a very odd name." Azriel noted. He had been observing the entire conversation, but had yet to speak until now. Tamlin rolled his eyes. It surprised Nyx how casual the high lord seemed. All the stories he had been told painted Tamlin as someone who demanded proper manners at all times. Isa giggled once again and Nyx was annoyed that he was not the one to win the sound from her.
"Her mother thought it was funny." Was the only explanation he gave. Isa, however, felt the need to embarrass her father.
"It is short for Isabelle and Belle means beauty as does Feyre. My mother thought it amusing to name me after the lover that jilted him."
Now it was not Nyx choking on his wine, but his mother. Violet began laughing at that.
"She sounds like a peach." Amren muttered while sipping on a glass of red wine. He would never have spoken back to the small, scary female, but it appeared that not much frightened Isa.
"She never took life too seriously. Everything was something to laugh at. She was good for dad." Her accent was heavier and her words sharper. Azriel's shadows began to change as if seeking more information on the mysterious mother.
The mother was a point of contention clearly. Nyx kept that thought bookmarked in the back of his brain for when he may need it next. Tamlin cleared his throat and sat up straight in his chair. He looked every ounce a high lord as he started to speak.
"We did not come here to discuss her mother." A tough topic for him as well it appeared. "Some day my throne will be hers and I do not want to leave her with shambles. I was hoping that not only could we come to some sort of alliance, but that if Isa were to find herself needing guidance, then you and your court might aid her in that."
"Why would we need your alliance? Other than a unified Pyrinthian, I see no reason for us to help clean up your messes." Feyre narrowed her eyes at the male. For all her talk about bringing peace between the two courts, she was quick to antagonize the High Lord. Nyx thought his mother was more petty than she ought to be considering the circumstances.
"My court still suffers from your petty vengeance. I would not be so quick to forget, Feyre."
"It is not my fault that your lack of leadership has led your court astray. Perhaps if it was so easy for me to wreck your court, it was not strong to begin with."
Nyx cleared his throat as a signal to his mother that she was getting off topic. He could see his father squeezing her hand as well.
"You will find," Isa interrupted Tamlin and Feyre's back and forth, "that you might prefer me as an ally rather than an enemy." Her tattoos started to glow as if to emphasize her words.
Nyx could not remember ever experiencing glowing tattoos with previous witches, but Isa was also part High Fae which made her more dangerous. Their lack of knowledge coupled with her obvious strength made her someone he did not want to make an enemy out of. At least not yet. He would want to discover the scope of her abilities first.
"Would your coven aid us in war if we were to be allies?" Nyx said instead of allowing his parents to continue to antagonize them. Despite his parents ignorance, Nyx actually did know a few things about witches and where there was one there was many. Best to have them on their side in any sort of issue.
His parents gave him identical glares that cause Violet to muffle a laugh. Azriel and Isa stared at him with curiosity though.
"Would you beg for it?" Her words were heavy with insinuation. It had Violet and Lucien laughing hysterically while every other fae at the table gave disapproving looks. Nyx's eyes widened. She was much too bold for a princess. He needed to assert his authority once more. She had the upper hand against everyone too many times tonight.
"A witch has never asked me to beg before."
"There's a first for everything."
"Unlikely."
"I do not speak for my coven, but if it was found that aiding in war pleased the spirits, then perhaps." She answered seriously as she took a bite of her chicken.
"Or if it prevented extinction of your kind?" Nyx knew their numbers were dwindling which was a point of contention for many of the witches.
"Yes. Or that." She pursed her lips. Obviously displeased that Nyx knew more than his parents. He did not know much more than that, but he would never allow her to know that. He kept the upper hand as long as she was unaware of how far his breadth of knowledge went.
"We would not be able to return the favor. If your coven ever needed help, we could not give it." Nyx cringed as his father continued to insinuate that the witches were less than.
"We would never ask for your help." Her nose crinkled in disgust. "You have no respect for magic and therefore would never be able to help us with our own conflicts."
"I respect my magic."
"No. You feel entitled to your magic. You think you are owed magic because you are a high lord. Witches understand there is a balance to all life. A give and take. We would never take something we were not willing to give. My own father is proof that you do not view your magic in the same way. He was willing to align himself with the enemy for Feyre, only to not get Feyre in the end and be stuck in a deal with the enemy."
"Do not lie to my face. I am too old for that and I know that witches deal in blood magic all the time." Rhysand finally switched to his High Lord voice. It demanded the respect that Isa did not want to give.
"Because they are willing to give what is needed. It is not without consequence when we invoke blood magic. High fae, however, can use their magic for good or evil with no consequences either way. Do you view your death lords as better than us? Your own sister could have ended the world and still reaped the benefits, yet you view my kind as evil? Tell me, where is the justice in that?"
"Enough, Isa." Tamlin snapped.
"They sit here and disrespect my culture, Mom's culture, and yet you reprimand me?" She was incredulous that her father was not defending her. Nyx did not think it would help any even if he did.
"We meant no disrespect-"
"You have done quite enough." Tamlin glared at the High lord of the Night Court.
"We will use this as a learning experience. Ignorance is stupidity. If they choose to be stupid, allow them. Never lose your temper during a diplomatic meeting."
After a very tense pause, Feyre gave Isa a curious look before asking a question.
"What do you shape shift into?"
The question would have appeared to come from out of nowhere if Feyre did not know that Tamlin was attempting to keep his daughter from lashing out. Whatever she shape shifted into was dangerous. After a moment of stiff silence and a staring contest between father and daughter, Isa turned to me.
"I think I need some fresh air. Mind showing me the gardens?"
"It would be my pleasure."

Downsides of Thievery Pt. 11
~ Previous Part ~ Next Part ~
Gavin wouldn’t really say he was a good judge of character, the amount of friends in low places he had was a testament to that. However, even he could tell that this new alteon that had appeared was bad news.
There was something about the way the guy held himself--it was cocky and arrogant, as if he was certain he was the most important person in the room. Not to mention the sleazy little smile he was wearing that seemed to promise trouble. But what Gavin hated most was the way the guy looked at him. It was hard to describe, but the only thing Gavin could think of to equate it to was how middle school bullies looked right before they were about to trip some poor kid in the hallway.
The green-eyed giant had been speaking in the same language that Gavin had heard a couple times throughout his time in the alteon dimension. Of course, he couldn’t understand any of it, which made him nervous for some reason.
“Not really much to look at, is he?” the new alteon remarked, now switching to English. “I know all humans are pretty pathetic, but I was expecting someone a bit tougher looking.”
Gavin scowled. This guy had intentionally alternated to speaking in a language Gavin could understand so that he would be able to hear the insult. Why was he being purposefully antagonistic? Yeah sure, Gavin was a criminal, but even Rael hadn’t been that big of a dick at first.
“Ashryn, I suppose you’re stationed here? Rael inquired. Gavin could tell he was trying to change the subject, to shift this “Ashryn” guy’s attention elsewhere.
“Why can’t he just tell this asshole to screw off?” Gavin thought to himself crankily. He tried to catch Rael’s eye but was unsuccessful. It was like he was very intentionally keeping his eyes up and forward.
“Hmm? Oh yes, that’s right,” Ashryn responded absentmindedly. He was apparently too preoccupied with staring at Gavin to give Rael his full attention.
What was it with these alteons and staring unabashedly? Just because Gavin was a comparatively tiny person from an alternate dimension didn’t mean they had the right to gawk at him like he was some sort of zoo animal. It was like all their manners flew out the window when it came to humans.
Ashryn stepped closer, a crafty smile still on his lips. “This is your first time dealing with a human up close, isn’t it?” he said to Rael while still not looking away from Gavin. “You don’t really realize how entirely inferior they are until you get close to them,” he continued. “Sure they look tiny and pathetic from afar, but up close you can really get a sense for how insignificant they are.”
Gavin really didn’t have a short temper, it was one of his few good traits actually. For the most part, he’d learned to just brush off insults and move on. He had given up on being well liked the moment he decided to become a thief. However, even Gavin’s temper had its limits, and he had just about reached his.
Springing to his feet, Gavin glared up at the massive elf-eared bastard standing in front of him. “What’s your problem?” he demanded, hands clenched in fists at his sides.
If this guy really wanted to insult Gavin and the rest of humanity so badly, why couldn’t he do it in his own native language? Oh yeah, because he was a complete ass. Ashryn didn’t just want to disparage humans, he wanted Gavin to know about it. For whatever reason, this alteon had decided he wanted to start a fight.
Next to Gavin, Rael had tensed up. The human hardly even noticed, he was too busy shooting daggers at Ashryn. Besides, Gavin was none too pleased with Rael at the moment anyways. He was basically just letting his comrade, or whatever they were to each other, run his mouth freely.
The grin on Ashryn’s face grew only wider at Gavin’s outburst. He took a step closer. “Rael, I think I’ve angered your little human,” he commented with a chuckle.
Gavin didn’t wait to see how Rael would’ve responded. Forget getting him to defend him. Who cared if Gavin was miniscule compared to Ashryn? He was going to stand up for himself. Someone needed to teach these giants some manners. Gavin was already in trouble, so it might as well be him.
“Okay you big, pointy-eared asshole,” he started with a bang. “Just because you’re bigger than humans doesn’t make you better than us--in fact with an attitude like yours, I’d argue you’re substantially worse than most humans I know...and I know some pretty shitty humans.” The words were flying out of his mouth almost of their own accord. It was like he’d opened a floodgate that he couldn’t close. “You’re clearly just a pompous dick who--”
“Enough!” The words echoed around him like thunder. At the same time there was a rush of air, a flash of movement, and then a thud that vibrated up through Gavin’s feet.
It took a moment for him to register the giant hand next to him, and a few more moments for him to realize it had just slammed down beside him. Gavin looked up, following the arm connected to the hand, expecting to see it attached to Ashryn. Instead, he was met with the rage filled face of Rael.
And then all of a sudden he was back in that clearing, pinned under a hand bigger than his entire body. The fear, the intimidation, the betrayal--it was all the same, probably even worse now actually. The worst part was that he didn’t understand, he didn’t understand why Rael was staring down at him with nothing but fury in his teal colored eyes.
Despite their turbulent relationship, Gavin had...well he had come to trust Rael. For god’s sake, he’d nearly considered the alteon to be something akin to a friend. So why...why had this happened? How had Gavin screwed this up?
“You will show some respect,” Rael growled down at him, and it was like Gavin was looking at a completely different person to the one he’d been talking to only a few minutes ago.

Why had he been put in this situation? Why did the guard outside the office have to be Ashryn? Why did Gavin have to snap like that? These questions swirled around inside Rael’s head as he looked down at the fearful human standing mere inches away from where he’d slammed his palm down on the bench.
“You had to do it,” a dark part of Rael’s mind told him. “If you hadn’t, Ashryn would never respect you, and he’d defame you to the entire Imperial Guard.” It was true--if Rael had failed to scold the human that was in his charge after he’d blatantly insulted an alteon soldier, he would be viewed as a failure among anyone who was anyone. Still, he hadn’t enjoyed doing it.
It wasn’t like last time, when Rael had trapped Gavin under his hand. There was no sense of satisfaction or pleasure derived from the action. All he could feel was a mess of anger and guilt.
He was furious that Ashryn had essentially manufactured the situation, but he was also angry with Gavin for quite literally forcing his hand. If the human had just kept his mouth shut, if he’d ignored Ashryn’s goading, then none of this would have happened. Why couldn’t Gavin have just made things easier?
“Well,” Ashryn spoke up with an appreciative tut. “I must say, you certainly know how to put a human in their place.”
Rael shifted his gaze towards the alteon. He couldn’t stand looking at Gavin anymore, seeing the fear and betrayal in those hazel eyes only deepened the heavy pit that was forming in his stomach.
“And you apparently know how to rile them up,” Rael muttered as he moved his hand away from Gavin and placed it back on his own lap.
Ashryn gave an amused chuckle. “Maybe so,” he answered with a satisfied grin on his face.
Despite having a primarily amicable relationship with one another, Rael had never much liked Ashryn. While they were about the same age and had gone through most of their training at the same time, Ashryn was regarded more highly within the Imperial Guard. Rael attributed this largely due to the fact that Ashryn’s family has had a long history of involvement with the Guard. Perhaps that also explained why the man was so pompous and smug all the time.
It was then that the door to the Emperor’s office opened for a second time. This time, it was a group of some of the top Imperial advisors exiting. They all eyed Gavin as they passed, however none of them said anything, only acknowledging the two soldiers with brief nods. Rael noticed that the last advisor out failed to close the door behind her, leaving him with a view inside the office.
There, sitting at his desk, was the Emperor of the entire realm of Iaela. He wore a calm smile on lips and waved a beckoning hand at Rael. “Bring in our human guest,” he called, his tone authoritative yet somehow still polite.
Ashryn was quick to assume his position beside the office door. He stood up straight, his arms behind his back like a perfect soldier. However, the part that the Emperor wouldn’t be able to see was his face--with that, Ashryn smirked over at Gavin. “Why does he look like he knows something that we don’t?” Unfortunately, there was no time for Rael to ruminate on his uncertainties. The Emperor was the very last person to be kept waiting.
Rael turned to Gavin. The human had gone pale and his body was so tense that it looked like the guy might bolt at any second. Rael was sure that the last thing Gavin wanted was to be picked up after what had just happened. However, there was no choice. There wasn’t even time for Rael to allow the human to walk onto his palm of his own accord.
As gently as possible, Rael carefully scooped the human up into his hands. Thankfully, Gavin didn’t put up any kind of fight; he gave a quiet gasp, but otherwise made no audible complaints. Once Rael was sure he wouldn’t drop the little man, he began to make his way into the Emperor’s office.
Immediately upon getting past the doorway, Rael felt a whoosh of air and heard a soft thud, indicating that the door had been shut behind them. This left him and Gavin entirely alone with the most powerful person in the realm.
This wouldn’t be Rael’s first time speaking with the Emperor, however it was certainly his first time alone, without any advisors, scribes, or guards around. Rael swallowed hard. He couldn’t mess this up--he had to prove himself to be a proper soldier worthy of being accepted into the ranks of the Imperial Guard. He wasn’t a peasant anymore, he was a proud, noble soldier.
“Rael, correct?” the Emperor inquired, the name sounded so foreign coming from his lips.
Rael nodded silently as he dipped into a low bow, which proved somewhat difficult while keeping his hands horizontal and steady for Gavin.
“Very well, Rael, could you place that human on my desk please?”
(Also, as a side note, I fixed up some continuity errors in chapters 6 and 9 if you feel like skimming through and seeing the minor adjustments)

[ I present to you the long awaited part two of the All For One request. The first part is located here. I know there was an ask that I had received that requested a part two. I have no idea what happened to it. But, regardless. I hope you enjoy, I also hope the length makes up for the long wait. As usual, please excuse any spelling errors. ]
Tumblr media
[ It’s been over a year since you agreed to become All For One’s successor. Your disappearance baffled those you used to hold dear, including your classmates and your father. However, under All For One’s guidance. You learned to channel all your hatred into one goal. Though wanting to kill Izuku Midoriya and your father seems a tad irrational. Your mind is too far gone to believe otherwise. The destruction that follows would prove to be one that hero society wasn’t prepared for. ]
The story of the missing UA student went viral almost overnight, there were several internet articles, even theories revolving around your sudden disappearance. Every news station in Japan did some type of report on it, the police were involved in several investigations which caused the UA campus to be littered with authority figures. Each one trying to gather clues that would lead up to a possible explanation for your disappearance. The hospital staff was asked several questions as well, such as when you were brought in, and if anyone had seen you leave.
The records showed you were not released from the hospital, so that led most conspiracy theorists to conclude something like you had been abducted or someone had used their quirk on you which effectively made you vanish from existence. But, the biggest surprise was your father, Toshinori Yagi also known as All Might, expressing his concern for you. However, what shocked the world most was when he revealed that you were his daughter. You found the confession pathetic. Truth be told, it had been over a year since your disappearance and part of you wondered if anyone even thought about you.
If your father felt any remorse knowing he was the cause of your disappearance. Given the pain and anger he had caused you, it was what he deserved. You should have had One For All passed down to you, but no. Your father chose someone so unworthy, so unfitting. Izuku Midoriya was now your sworn enemy and you wanted to see him and your father fall. All For One promised he would assist in your goal. It was almost amusing, your father’s worst enemy helping you. Treating you like an equal, believing in you. Acting more like a father figure than your actual father.
Still, the day after you agreed to become his successor, he introduced you to the League of Villains. You knew they were small in numbers, but you learned rather quickly that Tomura Shigaraki was not to be messed with. His psychotic drive to rule over the hero world and cast it into darkness was scary, but the fact that nothing would stop him from his goal was admirable. It almost inspired you, though when you first met him. He threatened to kill you, especially knowing your connection to All Might. He argued that no purebred hero, one who carried All Might’s DNA, should be deserving of becoming All For One’s successor.
You came to understand that All For One had adopted Tomura when he was a child, apparently, he had no where else to go. He was a lonely orphan and All For One took him under his wing. However, he seemed to know that Tomura desired to go down his own path as opposed to the one All For One laid out for him. Which led him to find someone else that would step into the position and effectively destroy All Might and his successor, Izuku Midoriya. That, someone, happened to be you and he knew you wouldn’t disappoint him. You had also met Dabi, Toga, Twice, and Mr.Compress.
You found Dabi to be rather standoffish while Toga was the exact opposite. It was strange having someone latch onto you and immediately go off about how happy they are to make a new friend. Mr.Compress was more polite than anything, but you got the feeling he didn’t exactly like dealing with kids. Twice was...an interesting character, who immediately treated you like you were a member of the family. But, you didn’t get to spend much time with anyone. All For One took it upon himself to immediately start your training, at first it was simple.
Running trails to assess your current ability, considering your father’s quirk wasn’t genetically passed on. Still, your quirk was impressive nonetheless. You had some extra physical strength and you could momentarily fly if you kicked off the ground hard enough. It wasn’t an aspect of your quirk that you normally used, considering you preferred being on the ground. You had tactical intellect, but you were a little slow when it came to using it in the heat of battle, and that disappointed All For One. Still, he found your skills impressive enough and fairly warned you how intense the training would become.
Warned that even if you were battered and bruised, you had to continue. You had to stand up on your feet again. At first, you thought he was exaggerating, but your assumption was wrong. As the training continued, you were beaten until you were a bloody pulp. All For One insisted it was to better yourself, to make you faster, quicker, sharper. More violent, more determined. You had to give him credit, just as he promised. He would show you more love than your own father, he’d always pull you into his arms after every training session.
No matter how much blood covered your person, he’d run his fingers through your unruly hair and whisper how proud he was of you and once again remind you that you were his successor. That all this pain and training would be worth it in the end. Six months in, All For One introduced you to the miracle that was his quirk. “My young successor, you’ll be more powerful than you know. I will give you a copy of my power when you finally prove yourself to me. For now…” you’d never forget how he reached out and the pain that coursed through your body as soon as his fingers touched your face.
You fell to your knees, clenching your jaw as All For One generously transferred one of his quirks to you. It was almost as though your body couldn’t handle the sudden surge of limited power, you swore you felt your heart stop just before blacking out. All For One seemed most forgiving as he understood the limitations of quirks to one's body, but made it clear he still expected the best from you. It was a strange feeling, possessing another one’s quirk and learning how to use it, what triggers made it click or appear.
You couldn’t help but think back to Izuku, was this the way he felt when your father passed One For All to him? You had to admit, it was a challenge. But, All For One insisted on intensifying your training. Believing that the added stress would quicken your quirk ability. Come 9 months, he bestowed another quirk onto you and he was rather pleased how well you received it. Unlike before, you didn’t blackout. Despite the toll the quirks took on your body, you were more than grateful to All For One and continued down your path as his successor.
Come 12 months, you had mastered your gifted quirks and learned to control them alongside your birth quirk. You knew it was finally time to unleash your anger, you would locate Izuku Midoriya and finally prove to your father just how worthy you were. All For One had gotten you a special outfit just for the occasion, you thought it was strange at first. Seeing as it resembled the suit that he normally wore, the same aspect went for the mask that was a part of the getup as well. The rest of your costume consisted of a long-sleeved shirt, made of a special material that would allow better movement and usage of your quirks.
That same material made up your pants and on your feet were heavy boots which All For One insisted would better keep your balance and cause more damage if you chose to use your kicking power. You took a deep breath, it was funny. You could barely recognize your reflection in the mirror and your mind was busy replaying the past year. Your memories of the first year at UA and the hospital where All For One convinced you to become his successor. You had changed so much since that simple time, not only was your heart blackened. You had physically changed as well, both because of the quirks All For One gave you and his training.
You had gained an impressive amount of muscle and learned how to shut off certain emotions. Despite that, you could hear that small voice in the back of your head ‘Is this the right thing to do?’ you shook your head. Of course it was, this is what you wanted from the very beginning. You nearly gasped when a hand grabbed your shoulder and watched as All For One’s reflection appeared alongside yours. You could tell there was a smile on his face before he leaned down next to your ear, “You look beautiful my successor,” he said before leaning up, you swallowed hard when you felt his hand run through your hair.
The image of your father doing the same popped into your head, and you couldn’t help but close your eyes. “Thank you,” the words were whispered, maybe you were a little anxious for whatever happened next. Still, you turned around, looking at All For One with a determined glance, “What now? I want Izuku Midoriya to fall, you promised you would help me achieve that,” you said with a hiss and your fists tightened as All For One laughed, was he mocking you? “Now, now…” he reached out, once more running his fingers through your hair.
“All in good time, be a good girl and do as I instruct and Izuku Midoriya will fall into your lap,” he promised, knowing that you were growing rather impatient. You had waited for this day, and he was rather eager to watch you cause destruction. In addition to knowing it would cause pain to All Might, which he particularly favored. The only remaining detail was how to get Izuku Midoriya to come to you. There were many ways you could do this, including pretending to be a civilian who needed help and have the unsuspecting hero run after you. Perhaps corner him and pounce.
But, All For One suggested something a little more traumatizing, you’d reveal yourself to Izuku and the world all at once. After all, the game of cat and mouse was quite entertaining. The well-known fact about luring Izuku to you was that All Might, the former symbol of peace, would no doubt follow. So, you were rather happy knowing there was a chance you’d be able to take both of them out. “Very well, when do we start?” you questioned and watched as All For One smiled, which was something you were more or less used to. He then turned, raising his hand.
You were a tad confused when he motioned you to follow him, but you knew better than to disobey his order. Regardless if it was a verbal command or not. You trailed behind him, exiting the rather gloomy room that had been your bedroom for the last year. You walked down a darkened hallway and the only source of illumination was coming from a nearby elevator that you stepped into with All For One. You remained quiet as he pressed a button and the elevator began going up. You pressed yourself against the nearest wall and almost shyly glanced at the man.
The one who took you in, the one who trained you, the one who was helping you essentially get revenge on the ones that hurt you. Once more you felt your stomach twist and tried to push the small sense of guilt down. No, your father and Izuku deserved this. They deserved it. Your thoughts were shattered when you felt a hand come to rest on the top of your head, you jumped in surprise and All For One chuckled. “Thoughts bothering you again?” he questioned and you parted your lips to answer, but ended up glancing to the side.
“Hm,” he frowned and reached down to grab your chin. You hissed as he forced your head up and wrapped your hand around his wrist. Despite the fact All For One had no eyes, you couldn’t help but widen yours in fear. His grip was menacing and it only reminded you that if he truly wanted, he could easily kill you anytime he pleased. “Do not let guilt rule you, I have taught you better than that. Focus on your goal and only your goal,” he reminded you yet again before releasing your jaw, you could feel your skin lightly throb and partly wondered if he had left bruises.
Yet, small bruises meant nothing in comparison to the numerous injuries you had received throughout your training. When the elevator finally stopped and the doors opened, you followed All For One out and realized you were on the rooftop overlooking part of the city. Though it looked far away and the sun was setting which caused the buildings to illuminate, you could make out the lighted windows and a nostalgic feeling came over you. A powerful gust of wind came and carried your hair with it, oddly enough you recalled a memory.
Yes, you and your father had done this. Though you had to admit, your father was a tad odd and not the brightest when it came to educating children. Still, somehow or another he convinced you to join him on the rooftop of UA, something that you thought was against the rules. But, it was shortly after you had gotten into the hero course. It seemed like a lifetime ago now, but you recalled the way your father smiled and proceeded to tell you to do your best. Your hands curled into fists, that was the only real advice he ever gave you and now he’d be paying for it.
Your best was never good enough for the symbol of peace. You took a deep breath and walked over to the edge of the building, laying your hands on the cold metal railing. All For One remained standing behind you, uncharacteristically quiet. You partly wondered if he was waiting for you to speak or simply enjoying the sunset. Still, you turned to him with narrowed eyes. “When can I finally-” he held his hand up to silence you, “I said to be a good girl, I brought you up here to observe,” you raised your eyebrow and turned back to the distant city.
“Observe what!?” you exclaimed, arms out and hands moving all around as if something interesting would actually happen. All For One chuckled and laid his hand gently on your shoulder, “Look at the city, how quiet it is,” he began. You blinked, “Yeah?” you wondered where he was going with such a statement, “Imagine the chaos that will occur once you bring Izuku Midoriya down, you will be able to take this city. Crush anyone who dares oppose you, this is my gift to you,” he explained as his hand reached up to grab your chin, he was less forceful this time and gently turned your head.
You wore a blank expression as you stared at him. He remained silent except for the smile on his face, “Now,” he released your chin, “enjoy the moments prior to your victory, you start tomorrow,” he said as he turned to walk back to the elevator. Your eyes widened and you quickly spun on your feet, “T-Tomorrow?” you questioned, your voice coming off as clueless and rather shaky. He told you to wait and be patient only to tell you that your plans will be set in motion tomorrow? It didn’t make a lot of sense to you, however, you recalled being taught that villains were dangerous and their radical way of thinking often drove them to the point of madness.
Thus why a hero always had to be careful when facing a potentially dangerous threat, many heroes lost their lives to carelessness and this time, it would be Izuku Midoriya. The thought alone brought a smile to your face and you quickly adjusted your mask before following All For One into the elevator. “Tomorrow,” you whispered as the doors closed behind you. The following night was calm, though you couldn’t help but feel a sense of happiness as you laid in bed. All For One usually checked on you every hour or so.
You recall he did it more when you first agreed to become his successor. You assumed he checked on you to ensure you hadn’t escaped or were trying to. But, after a while, it turned into something that he did out of care and in a way, it helped you sleep. When you woke, you went through your normal morning routine which included getting ready for the day, eating something, and your usual training session which lasted until noon. After that, All For One ordered you to get into your costume which you happily did and once you were ready.
You followed him to the rooftop. “I assume you remember the plan, my successor,” you took a deep breath, the world seemed so still around you. “Mmhm,” you responded with a nod, but your eyes remained focused on the city landscape. A moment of silence filled the air before you climbed onto the railing, perfectly balanced. “Go,” All For One gave the single command and you jumped like a perfect obedient puppy.
But damn, you couldn’t help but feel alive as you descended toward the ground below. The wind whipped through your body like paper, your hair blew everywhere, and yet you felt utterly weightless. As you prepared to land, you angled your body just so and activated one of the quirks, All For One was generous enough to give you Forced Quirk Activation. This caused black jagged limbs to extend from your palm, you also had the option to use your fingers. Normally this quirk was reserved to activate others' quirks against their will, but it could be doubled as a weapon of sorts.
Easily piercing through human flesh, among other things. Either way, it proved useful as it split the pavement below. You clenched your jaw as a small pain radiated through your hand but you ignored it. More than likely, it was a sign that your body was continuing to try and reject your gifted quirks. You knew that a quirk was essentially an evolution of the human race and if you were special, you were gifted with more than one. An example of this was your old classmate, Shoto Todoroki. Ice and fire were his gifts.
His body was capable of handling those quirks while your body was merely a test dummy. But, you didn’t care. The pain was only a reminder of your goal, you focused your attention forward and continued to move. Surely you were noticeable and rather scary as you continued to close the distance between yourself and the city. As one would expect, as soon as civilians saw you overhead, they began screaming. This effectively caught the attention of the authorities, but they weren't worth your time.
Still, it was rather annoying watching as the cops scattered and barked commands into their radios. Your eyes narrowed as you continued down the crowded streets of Tokyo, more jagged limbs grew from your shoulders which gave your palm a rest. You paused a moment and looked at the lines of blood which dripped from your palm and seeped down to your wrist. “Worth it…” you muttered just as a few police cars sped toward you. The glare from their flashing lights irritated your vision.
Did they truly have to make such a scene? You were merely looking for something or rather someone. But, this was the ignorance of the hero world. Even if you were being “innocent”, merely on a stroll. They had to interfere with your business. You narrowed your eyes as one officer stepped forward and through their megaphone commanded you to surrender. You glanced at the pathetic barricade of police cars they had formed, did they truly think such a thing would stop you?
You couldn’t help the chuckle that left your lips and gave a wicked smile, “I’m just looking for someone, but if you’re going to be difficult…” you trailed off and raised your hand. You could feel vibrations course through your fingertips before a powerful air shock wave came. You watched in amusement as the city vibrated, almost like an earthquake. Causing the pavement to crack and the windows of the police cars to shatter violently. The nearby buildings seemed to shake, cracks appearing across their structure and broken windows.
As expected, the display of your power caused a panic. A single scream pierced through the air before civilians began to run to safety. Pushing each other down in an attempt to save their own life, pathetic. Yet, it somehow made you smile. In the distance, you could hear the sound of a helicopter. More than likely coming to do a report on your attack on the city. You’d deal with them later, instead, you retracted those jagged limbs and fell to the cracked street below. Landing on your knee with your arm outstretched to support you.
The civilians who were still running made sure to evade you as you locked your eyes on the remaining authority figures. At least some of them were brave enough to keep standing, did they think they were being heroic by living up to their duties? That was pathetic, however, you noticed one of them was standing in front of the others. More than likely the chief, the ones that stood behind him had their guns up and pointed in your direction. Rather a foolish thing to do when innocent lives were rushing around.
The heavy feeling of fear continued to linger in the air which only made your next set of words, somewhat terrifying, “Please, don’t be foolish.” you could see they were all shaking which caused those guns to tremble as well, you half expected one of them to fire theirs prematurely. But then again, surely they were too frightened to properly use those guns. But, you thought taking care of them first would be best. So, without hesitation, you held your palm out, and once more those air shockwaves came.
You didn’t care if they got injured as a result, nor that sickening crack that followed as their bodies hit the ground. Several gunshots sounded, more than likely triggered by their harsh impact. Luckily no bullet hit you. Yet, the chief seemed to have taken less damage. Having been thrown against one of the police vehicles, causing the driver door to get dented in and it appeared their arm was bleeding. More than likely from the shattered glass of the window. They seemed disorientated for the moment. But, that didn’t stop you from approaching them.
You leaned close and with a happy smirk on your face, you spoke, “Scared? Don’t worry, I won’t kill you...yet,” without warning, you wrapped your fingers around their neck. Your nails sunk into the flesh of their throat and you chuckled as they weakly reached up to try and claw at the back of your hand. But mere scratches didn’t bother you. A growl sounded before you pulled them forward and menacingly looked them in the eye. “I’m looking for Deku,” you growled, “Give him to me or...well, I won’t be responsible for my actions,” the sound of that helicopter grew louder and you glanced up.
You could clearly make out the members of the local news crew, and the reporter that was hanging out the open doors. Microphone shoved in their face, more than likely dribbling nonsense. How about that, you would be on the news.  You partly wondered what they were saying: “This just in, All Might’s missing daughter on villainous rampage. Looking to kill or severely injure a certain bastard that stole her father’s attention away.” Did that sound too selfish? Well, too bad. Actually, “Hm…” you continued to look at the helicopter, perhaps you could use them to your advantage.
You chuckled softly before releasing your hold on the cop’s throat. They dropped to the ground like the pathetic scum they were. However, your eyes remained locked on the helicopter and you shifted your feet just so. Your arms were by your sides and your palms were facing down. The surge of pain came as those limbs reappeared and lifted you into the air, you stretched your legs out and maneuvered your hands. Once more using the gifted quirk to thrust yourself upward from a building roof.
Your world blurred for a moment, but you knew you were heading straight toward that helicopter and yet again used your quirk to piece through the blades of it, effectively causing it to spin out of control. You could hear alarms going off as the pilot tried to regain control and the news crew hung onto the emergency handles for dear life. Your body was thrown around like a ragdoll, however, you once more used your quirk. You positioned one of your hands so it was facing the ground below and your fingers morphed into small jagged appendages that you used for leverage to steady yourself.
In one motion you pulled your arm back and fell toward the city below. You couldn’t help but grin as you watched the helicopter spin and crash into a series of buildings. Causing several explosions, would be a shame if someone was actually in those buildings. More than likely they would have died from the impact alone. But, whether or not anyone was alive, wasn’t your concern. You dropped to the ground once again, noticing the street was now covered in dirt among the crumbled pieces of building and broken glass.
You quickly made your way to the location of the fallen helicopter, noticing the way it had landed. On its side, the metal blades bent and broke, and the wires underneath it sparked. You could make out the news reporters however, seemed they were injured but more than capable of moving. You slowly approached, watching as they helped each other out of the helicopter and onto the street. You noticed one of them was still holding the camera and you pointed your finger at them. “You…” the word left your lips ominously and it was almost entertaining to watch their heads turn and the look of fear come to their eyes when they saw you.
“Point that camera at me,” you demanded with a menacing growl as you curled your bloody hand into a fist. Perhaps you were overusing the Forced Activation Quirk, even so. You weren’t willing to die until you faced Izuku Midoriya. “NOW,” you demanded before stomping your foot, which caused the ground to shake underneath you. The news reporters cowered and you watched as the individual hesitantly hoisted the camera onto their shoulder, you could see a faint red light blinking on the side of it. Good, that meant there was a chance you could get your message through.
“Are we live?” you questioned in a gitty fashion. “Regardless…” you pointed at the camera, “My name is Y/n, daughter of the former symbol of peace, All Might. Yes, shocking isn’t it? I am here to settle a score of sorts, take something back that was mine. I am calling you, Izuku Midoriya. Come face me or...well, perhaps I could have fun killing off more civilians, burying their bodies under the remains of the buildings. Your call…” you chuckled before signaling them to drop the camera. “Hopefully, he makes the correct choice,” you muttered before activating Airwalk, a quirk that allowed you to levitate in midair.
It was almost entertaining, looking down at everything. You chuckled as you watched the news reporters scamper to safety. You took note the police officers had vanished as well. You were more than certain no pro hero would try to interfere now that you had made it clear what you wanted, and considering the damage you already did. It would be unwise for any hero to try and step in. You had established yourself as a threat and a very fearful one at that. In the distance you could see more flashing lights and crowds of people, more than likely the authorities were closing off this section of the city. Which was an impressive move or rather a smart one.
You chuckled and reached up to adjust your mask, you wondered if All For One was proud of you. He was always so gentle with his words, always encouraging or speaking to you kindly. You wondered if there was a possibility All For One enjoyed playing the role of a parent. You knew very little about his past, apart from the fact he had a brother who was seemingly quirkless. Regardless, you had never felt more encouraged in your life and you’d make him proud. Still, you couldn’t help but feel a tad bored.
“Mm…” you reached up, tapping your cheek before taking a struggled breath. Was it growing difficult to breathe? You could feel your heart racing inside your chest, was that from adrenaline or happiness? Well, you’d find out. You could see some buildings were left undamaged, time to change that. You grinned and raised your arm, feeling your skin tingle and expand as you used Air Cannon again.
The ground vibrated and you watched as the buildings that once stood tall came crashing down. It was satisfying to watch the city fall piece by piece. You let out a sigh as you lower yourself back to the ground, taking a few steps forward. Being careful to avoid tripping over your feet or over any garbage that was in your way. You paused momentarily when you thought you heard something, at first you thought it was your imagination. But, you quickly realized it was someone calling for help. Oh dear, was someone trapped under the rubble?
A hum sounded in your throat as you followed the noise, surprised to see an opening within one of the ruined buildings. You carefully stepped over the metal rods and glass, up a pile of dirt to look inside the dimly lit opening. Sure enough, you could see someone laying on the ground. They were dripping blood from their forehead and it appeared like their leg was trapped under something, maybe a metal beam. You weren’t sure, and frankly, you didn’t care. Still, you thought it was rather foolish of them to call out to you of all people for help.
You could only chuckle, “Of course, I’ll help. Death is an easy solution,” the words came off your tongue with a purr and you lifted your arm once more. However, you paused and looked out of the corner of your eye. You could barely make out the green streaks, more so you could barely dodge. Your ears rang as Izuku screamed your name, but you were too busy literally bending over backward. Your eyes widened as the world slowed down and you could clearly see Izuku’s fist gliding past your face.
The impact that followed caused your mask to fly off. Where it landed, you didn’t particularly care. You stumbled back, your facial features twisted with disgust and anger. Your hair had bits of dirt and blood in it and hung lazily in your face. “Izuku…” you growled, though you were a little shocked to see him handling that quirk without breaking any bones. Had he finally learned how to control it? Damn, you missed a lot.
But, you had trained under All For One himself. You had multiple quirks and there was no way Izuku could beat you, yes...One For All was powerful. But, in the wrong hands like Izuku’s, it would prove worthless in battle. This is the only thing that gave you some confidence as you walked over to him, he was on one knee with his hand pressed against the cracked pavement. You imagined several pro heroes, including Endeavor and Best Jeanist were standing around, unable to do anything but pray that Izuku could stop you.
“Did dear old father come with you?” the question left your mouth in a teasing tone. However, a moment later your hands curled into fists and Izuku stood back on his feet. You had to admit, perhaps he had gotten taller and you could clearly see he gained more muscle. “Of course he came…” you hissed out, “Anything to protect his dear little, Izuku. Yet, he would never do ANYTHING for me!!!” you screamed, ignoring the way your throat strained. You could feel your eyes water, must be the dirt.
Izuku didn’t seem entirely phased by your words and only shook his head. Lowering his defenses a moment, you could see those familiar lightning-like streaks disappear. “Y/n…” he began, his eyes focusing on the ground, more specifically your feet. “You disappeared...a year ago, I…I w-was so worried something b-bad might have...happened to y-you…” his hand reached up, pressing against his chest. However, you rolled your eyes. “You damn well remember what happened in that hospital a year ago!” you snapped, accusingly pointing your finger at Izuku.
He only narrowed his eyes, “What happened to you, Y/n?! Why did you come back?! O-Only...only to c-cause this much d-destruction?! T-This isn’t you...y-you’re a...you’re a hero!” the very word made you gag, hero. Sure, a hero whose father ignored her and chose someone else to pass his quirk to. Cared for someone else more than his own flesh and blood, someone who kept the fact you were his daughter a secret. Some hero. “Don’t insult me,” you spoke in a low voice, you highly doubted you were ever actually a hero.
Back when you could still call yourself innocent, you had only wanted to become a hero to please your father. You wanted so much to be like him and have people look up to you. Well, they looked in fear now. Either way, you were getting the attention you so desired and no doubt people would be talking about you for years to come. “I-I’m not insulting! I t-thought something bad r-really had happened! T-To see you...here...p-part of me...just w-wants to hug you and...a-and make everything better!” you let out a frustrated growl and that Forced Quirk Activation came to surface.
Your fingers morphed into those menacingly dangerous limbs and they were aimed at Izuku. However, you might have underestimated just how quick of a reaction time he had. The dagger-like limbs embedded themselves into the pavement, instead of Izuku’s body like you had originally wanted. “Hm, and here I thought you were going to make this boring!” you snapped and quickly raised your other arm, once again those limbs came out and you smiled as you watched Izuku’s eyes widen.
He had jumped to avoid your attack and now he was falling through the air. But, it almost looked as though he were hovering, more than likely thanks to that quirk of his. The one that should have been yours, perhaps that saying could finally die along with Izuku and possibly your father. If you were lucky enough for that. ‘I won’t be able to dodge in time, but I’m sure this will work. Just have to wait for the right moment…’ Izuku thought as your quirk closed its distance. Once in range, Izuku held up his hand and you could hear a snap.
“What the hell!?” your arms instantly went up, shielding yourself from the dust and glass that was a backlash result of Izuku’s action. Your foot went back, trying to steady yourself from getting blown away. Damn it, you had to do something. Regardless of where Izuku was, more than likely he had hit the ground by now which meant you had a chance of hitting him if you used Air Cannon. You cleared your mind and extended your arm out, once more that familiar painful tingle came as the pressure built.
A moment passed before you finally released it, the ground around you cracked and fell apart. The surrounding buildings already bent, came crashing to the ground and their impact only added to the strong vibrations from your quirk. Izuku had indeed touched the ground just before it began to shake violently, his only option was to jump yet again. Believing your quirk wouldn’t reach him the sky, however, he mistakenly believed that your quirk was causing earthquakes as opposed to airwaves.
He let out a cry when his body was hurled back and you could hear the loud crash as he collided with part of a building. You couldn’t help the smirk that came to your face as you walked over, seeing the dust cloud from where he had made an impact. As it cleared you could see his body lying there, his arms stretched out as well as his legs. There were some cuts on his person, and you hadn’t taken into account that Izuku wasn’t in his hero costume.
His legs were exposed because of the shorts he wore and they were covered in a thin layer of blood and dirt. “It’s a shame you had to make me go and do this Izuku Midoriya, but All For One seemed to have thought it best. Unlike my father, he’s rather encouraging when I fail. Not that I will when it comes to killing you. But first, I’d like to have a little fun,” you chuckled, despite the line of tears dripping down your cheeks. You raised your arm and your fingers morphed, this time you’d pierce him with your quirk and you’d enjoy watching his reaction.
You couldn’t tell if he was conscious or not, but it was almost pathetic how easily he seemed to be defeated and by a simple airwave, no less. Well, it didn’t matter. You smiled as you watched those jagged limbs pierce through Izuku’s flesh and it seemed to jolt him back into reality. His back arched as he let out a scream which was music to your ears. You had pierced through both his shoulders, his legs, and his stomach. Sounds painful, but this particular quirk wasn’t known to cause much, if at all, any pain.
It was simply a way to force one’s quirk to activate against their will and it was a delight watching Izuku struggle as his body illuminated and One For All appeared. Surrounding his body in that almost cosmic energy, “How does it feel, Deku? I only wish this quirk could cause you pain. Does it feel uncomfortable when your quirk is activated and you’re not the one in control? Yeah...that’s similar to how I felt throughout last year, always watching you with my father. Using the quirk he bestowed onto you instead of his own blood!” Maybe that’s another reason why All For One had chosen you because you each shared a want to have One For All to yourself.
Still, you had never once imagined you’d get so much happiness out of watching Izuku struggle, his cries growing louder. His body moving every which way despite the minor cuts that scattered across his body. It must be so uncomfortable to wiggle your body like that when on top of a pile of rubble, not that you cared. No, you were enjoying the show at least for the few blissful moments it was occurring. Your eyes narrowed when you noticed a dark circle beginning to grow on Izuku’s stomach, it almost looked like a black hole.
“What the hell…” you muttered before suddenly blackness shot out. You watched it manifest into what resembled whips and honestly, you were too shocked to process what was actually occurring. You tried retracting your quirk, but you were too slow and felt one of the whips wrap around your ankle. “Oh no…” your world blurred as you were hurled through the air, it all seemed to happen too quickly. The next thing you felt was the impact of the ground against your shoulder and a loud crack echoed. This was only followed by a surge of pain that traveled past your collarbones to the opposite side of your body.
You grunted, your hand now clenching your aching shoulder as you struggled to get back on your feet. You clenched your jaw in an effort to keep the whimpers that threatened to escape silent. Allowing them to pass your lips would only be a sign of weakness. You took a deep breath, All For One had not gifted you the quirk of Regeneration. He stated you were strong enough on your own and that the experience without rapid healing of any kind, would only continue to strengthen your character.
He had also promised that if you got severely injured despite your best efforts, he would take care of you. Something that you appreciated, but not as much as a healing quirk. “Just...walk...it...off,” you muttered as you stumbled to turn around, the sound of your pants filling the air. Your eyes settled on Izuku as he crawled across the rubble and much like you, stood on shaky legs. “Try that a-again!” you shouted as you took a sloppy step forward. All you needed was a little adrenaline and the pain would numb on its own.
Izuku sucked his breath in and shook his head, “You need to stop t-this...Y/n. Is t-this...because of what happened with A-All Might? I get he’s your f-father and all, but…” the last thing you needed was a lecture from the King of Muttering, “Shut up!” you snapped, obviously angered at the mention of All Might. “You know nothing about my life!” hell, no one did, “You know nothing about being a true hero, I have already destroyed this city. Oh, and if you’re such a great hero,” you grinned.
“Then tell me, why haven’t you saved that poor civilian trapped under one of these destroyed buildings?” you spoke in a mocking tone, if anything to get a reaction from the green-haired boy. “Oh wait, they could be dead. My Air Cannon could have sealed their fate…” you chuckled and slowly removed your hand from your shoulder, “Let’s see if you can actually outrun my quirk this time, Izuku Midoriya,” you found amusement in the way his eyes grew wide and his face twisted with anger.
Yet, you continued to smile, “I’d race you...but,” you took another step forward, “no promises,” you said before activating Air Walk. Izuku almost seemed memorized as he watched you ascend into the air, but his expression quickly changed into that of horror. You had decided it was time to try combining the quirks All For One had gifted you, though it was tricky and took a lot of energy. You took a deep breath and focused, channeling Air Cannon, Forced Quirk Activation, and Rivet which allowed rivet-like growths to appear on your arm.
Your eyes focused forward, you could still see the flashing police cars off in the distance and you could make out the heroes that stood among the police officers. One of them was glowing like a torch so you assumed it could only be Endeavor and it appeared your old teacher, Shota Aizawa, was also there. They weren’t exactly the ideal audience members you wanted, but there was little to be done about it now. They had decent seats for witnessing what was about to occur.
“Ready Izuku? I’d suggest you start running...now,” you growled, as those jagged-limbs extended out from your arm and the rivets that appeared alongside it, vibrated and would also help stabilize the increased power of your Air Cannon. The pressure that was building felt wonderful and honestly, you were quite proud of yourself. The wind came and ruffled your hair, you could feel it brush off some of the dirt that stuck to your face. Your shoulder though still radiating with pain, could move. But even if it couldn’t, you’d make it move. You felt such a strange sense of happiness fill you, they say power is dangerous.
But, if it gave you this much of a high. Hell, it was worth it. Izuku, on the other hand, had great power as well. But, unlike most, he hadn’t used it for evil purposes. No, he had chosen to be a hero. Even at the cost of his own life, he’d stop whatever villain stood to harm others and at this very moment. That villain was you. “One For All! A hundred percent!” he screamed just before kicking off the ground, the pavement already cracked and abused began to cave in on itself. You could faintly hear running water and you could only assume that you had busted a water pipe when you previously used Air Cannon.
Either way, it was amusing to see Izuku blindly racing forward. He had no idea where this civilian was. But, it didn’t matter. You grinned and released your combined quirk. The air shockwave came as a powerful force of energy, ripping apart what remained of the buildings and the pavement below continued to cave in, creating an abyss of sorts. You moved forward, thankful for your position in the sky. You had lost track of Izuku, which was somewhat amazing considering he had his quirk activated. However, when it came to justice and doing what was right.
He could move as fast as he needed to, the sound of his shoes slamming against the pavement echoed in his ears  “Hey!” he shouted, “D-Does someone need help!?” his question went unanswered. Which upset him, but he couldn’t afford to give up. He knew at any moment there was a chance you’d release that quirk and then this innocent civilian would die. He wasn’t about to allow that, no. The innocent should never die, “Answer me! I’m here! I’m Deku! I’ll save you!” he shouted again, his jaw clenching as he continued to run past what used to be buildings.
His eyes looked every which way, “Hello!” he desperately called out once more before he felt the ground shake, he lifted his head and gasped. In the distance, he could see the pavement splitting apart. “I have to think fast!” he declared, “Think of where they could be, they have to be an open area within what remains of the buildings. They must be further into what’s left of the city as well,” he couldn’t waste any more time. He dug his feet into the ground and jumped into the air. This would be faster than walking and he’d have more control over where he landed.
He covered an impressive amount of distance and he could see the resulting occurrence of your quirks. What was once the street was nothing but a dark strip. He clenched his jaw and nearly stumbled when he hit the ground. It was a tad tricky to keep your balance when the ground below you continued to shake. “Can anyone hear me!?” he screamed, ignoring the way his heart rapidly echoed in his ears. “Dang it,” he took off running, “Someone, anyone!?” he called again, passing by yet another building. He recognized it, he passed it most days.
A growl rumbled in his throat, he couldn’t fully understand why you had done this. What was turning into a villain proving? Obviously nothing, but then again. Most villains aren’t meant to be understood, some are just too crazy or too damaged. Sure sometimes life deals you a bad hand, but you had to stand up again and learn how to overcome it. Like he was trying to do, he was once a quirkless boy who dreamed of becoming a hero, and now...despite all odds, he had achieved that dream. His fists tightened, “Why...why would Y/n, d-do this?” he questioned before lifting his head.
He blinked and looked around, “Hello?” he thought he heard someone. He cautiously took a step forward, the shaking was growing more violent. He was running out of solid ground. He remained quiet, listening for the sound again and sure enough, he would hear faint cries. He wasted no time in running to the source, no surprise it appeared to be coming from underneath a pile of rubble. But, it had a small opening which provided him with enough light to see the outline of someone.
By the way they were laying, Izuku immediately assumed they were trapped or too injured to move. But, a good hero always made sure of someone’s condition before going through with a rescue and evacuate mission, “Excuse me! Are you injured?!” he questioned, either way, he’d have to be careful. “I’ll get you out, don’t worry I-” before he could finish he heard the road behind him crumble. You smirked as you watched the city become no more, it was quite satisfying to a point. You willed your quirks away, revealing your torn and bloody arm. Dark circular bruises appeared where those ridges had pushed past your skin.
You paid no mind to it as you hovered just above what was once the street, nothing more than an abyss. “Hm…” you reached up, cupping your chin as you made your way to the opposite side of the city. Surely Izuku couldn’t have outrun the destruction caused by your quirk. Your eyebrows knit together, maybe surveying the area would be a wise idea. You knew that Izuku was strong in the sense that he never gave up. He’d beat himself to a bloody pulp if it meant protecting someone, but could he stand a building falling on him?
You hovered past several piles of glass and plaster, carefully looking for any sign of Izuku or that one unfortunate civilian who happened to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. You placed your hand on your hip, despite the movement aggravating the injured side of your body. Maybe you should switch to your good side, then again. Much like Izuku, you’d let your body become nothing but a ragdoll if it ensured victory. Still, your lips formed a pout. Had Izuku actually been crushed, was he buried under one of the piles?
That was disappointing, however, a gasp escaped you when you noticed a splatter of something against a piece of what you assumed was now a broken window still. You blinked and crept closer, your eyes widened when you saw it was dark and had a red tint to it, almost like, “Blood…” you whispered in disbelief, your eyes then drifted to a piece of ripped fabric. It was hanging off a nearby rock and you recognized it as a piece of the shorts Izuku was wearing. You carefully lowered yourself onto the pile of debris, letting out a cry when you almost slipped.
You quickly regained your balance before reaching out to take the piece of fabric in your hand. Sliding your thumb across it, feeling the rough texture of it. A frown then came, despite your injuries. You had thought this fight would be more...exciting. It clearly wasn’t, which was a disappointment. “Always the loser, huh, Deku?” you released the piece of fabric and watched as it was carried away by the wind. It was then that you heard something which caused you to raise your eyebrow. You curiously looked over your shoulder, swearing you saw the slightest of movement.
Turning around, you watched as several pebbles began to shake. Almost like an earthquake was coming, but you had already finished using your quirk. Surely there was no aftereffect, so what was causing the movement? You took a step back and suddenly something clicked. You let out a cry and crouched down as dirt, glass, and combined pieces of building flew everywhere. “Dammit!” you hissed as you stumbled over, now against the uncomfortable surface. You could feel it poking and proding your body.
But, you kept your arms up. Covering your face and shielding your neck, your legs were curled up into your stomach. Izuku had tried a desperate move and channeled One For All to his legs, giving him an advantage as he raced forward to save the civilian trapped under the rubble. Unfortunately, just as he feared their foot was trapped underneath a metal beam. At that moment, he did the only thing he could think of. Stood above them and activated his quirk, his arms facing out and palms ready to hold back the weight as the remains of the building collapsed onto them, possibly further trapping them.
His legs were shaking and he clenched his jaw as his trembling arms continued to hold back the weight, he couldn’t afford to die at this rate. His veins were glowing that pink-red color and those green streaks that were often accompanied when he activated One For All danced around his arms. He knew it might be a bad idea, but he yet again, made a desperate move. He channeled his quirk to his dominant arm, “Detroit smash!!!” he cried, and as soon as his knuckles made contact. A blowback of power occurred. The result of which built-up pressure and finally forced it to escape.
His panting filled the air as the dust cleared and he stood tall, the civilian cradled in his arms. Though their foot was bloody and bent in a way that wasn’t humanly possible. They looked limp in his arms, however, Izuku had received most of the damage. He was covered in cuts and pieces of glass were embedded into his skin. His legs were black and blue, blood coated each one, and it was possible he had broken a bone or two. His arm was darkened in color almost as though he had gotten burned. His fingers and knuckles were the same, the skin around them dark and blood was dripping along the length of the damaged skin.
He had a cut on his lip and one that ran horizontally underneath his right eye which looked swollen. Once everything settled down and you heard that panting, you pushed yourself up. Eyes growing wide when you saw the state Izuku was in, you looked at the civilian as well. Honestly, you didn’t care what happened to them. But, knowing they would remain alive was a little disappointing. Still, a chuckle left your lips and you stood on shaky feet. A small amount of blood was dripping from your mouth, maybe you swallowed glass.
The taste of iron was a tad distracting, but you couldn’t help the wicked smirk that came to your face. “Impressive, I should have expected such from a hero,” you commented, finding some amusement in the way Izuku clenched his jaw and his eyes burned with hatred. You were kind of giddy to see such an expression and directed at you nonetheless. “Are you mad at me, Izuku?” you questioned, “Good,” you chuckled and held your good arm out to the side.
Your hand curled into a fist and you watched Izuku’s expression change. His pupils shrinking in size and his lips parting. More than likely you assumed he knew he couldn’t move too quickly, else he’d cause further injury to the civilian he held in his arms. You remained silent, in such close range any one of your quirks could potentially knock Izuku off his feet, even your original quirk. Which you had neglected in place of your new ones. But, it seemed you favored using Air Cannon more than anything and that familiar vibration coursed through your arm.
The smirk on your face only grew when Izuku took a step back, clearly, he knew by now there was no trying to talk his way out of this. “Are you happy this is what your actions caused, Izuku Midoriya? Because of you my fath-'' suddenly a sound echoed through the air, one that filled you with disgust and anger. Yet, a sense of familiarity and memories. Talk about perfect timing, you had hoped your father would make an appearance. Seemed whatever God or otherwise chose to answer your prayer was being rather generous. “Y/N!!!” came All Might’s voice, though it was hardly intimidating.
You were well aware your father had lost all use of One For All, the result was him remaining in his true form. That of a skinny, weak, old man. You stood there a moment and glanced to the side, part of you didn’t even want to look at your father. Feeling as though such an action would cause you to become nauseous, but you knew you had to. Especially if you wished to cause some well-deserved harm. “Hmph,” a soft growl rumbled in your throat before you lowered your arm and turned around. Sure enough, there he was. Toshinori Yagi, previously known as All Might.
The former symbol of peace, your father. You said nothing, only crossed your arms. A growl escaped you as you narrowed your eyes and fought the urge to smash your fist right into his face. You could hear movement behind you, more than likely Izuku running off to protect that no good civilian. But, surely he wouldn’t leave All Might alone. Your father was quirkless while you had multiple quirks. Fairness didn’t come into the equation here. Yet, you could see your father’s eyes widen. “It is you…” he whispered as he looked at you from head to toe.
You were covered in dirt and blood, your clothes were ripped. Your hair was messy and stiff. Bruises littered one arm and fresh blood continued to drip from your mouth which in a way, ironically was something that happened to your father frequently. You assumed it was due to that stomach injury he had received years ago when he faced down All For One. Still, you rolled your eyes. “Back from the dead,” you mocked and All Might frowned, “Y/n...I…” you growled and closed the distance between All Might and yourself.
You partly wondered how he had gotten this far considering the damage you had done to the road. But, you knew as a previous pro hero, he had his ways. Both of you were standing near the edge of what was once the road. One misstep and you’d fall into nothingness. “You can take your apology and shove it up your ass!” you snapped, acting like an angry child and essentially you were just that. Angry, pissed off, loathing the very concept of your father’s existence.
“I don’t care what you have to say, I only care about ending you. But, before I do. I want to know, did it hurt?” you questioned, however, your father looked confused. You had to admit, you were under the impression most were intimidated to be standing in front of a villain. Your father, however, continued to stand tall. You somehow knew he wouldn’t back down unless you forced him to and you’d get to that soon enough. “Did it hurt when you thought I disappeared? Tell me, did you think about that night? How you always favored Izuku over me!? Do you wish you could have hugged me instead? Do you ever regret treating me like shit!?” you snapped, your bloody spit flying as you grew angrier.
All Might held his hands up, “Y/n...of course I-” you interrupted him, “You wanted to keep me a secret from everyone, right!? Didn’t want your heroic name tainted because you had a bastard child, is that it!?” you growled, your teeth scraping together and you hoped your glare would physically make him burst into flames. Yet, you watched as his eyes softened and he lowered his hands. He glanced to the side and silence filled the air, “WELL!?” you snapped, clearly wanting an answer. Instead, you heard him sigh and he slowly looked back at you.
“I...I was never ashamed of you, Y/n. I…” his response made your stomach twist and you nearly gagged, his words were sickening. “You’re so full of shit,” you said with a low chuckle, “It’s funny, I never thought the former symbol of peace would be a liar. How does it feel, father? To know this destruction, all of this!” you exclaimed as you held your arms out, hands and fingers curling in an almost happy motion. “Is because of you. I should have had One For All, I should have been your successor. But, you never...you never wanted that did you!? No, instead you chose a pathetic little weakling to carry your precious quirk. Well, you know what. I’m here to kill him,” All Might’s eyes widened.
“Oh, here’s something else you might find shocking, I hope it hurts. I didn’t just disappear from the hospital, no. In fact, long before that. I had gotten a mysterious text, somehow the person who sent the text knew I was your daughter. One thing led to another and I came to find out, your sworn enemy. You know, the man you inflicted pain upon, took away his pride and his eyes. Came to me,” you saw a flicker of hate shine in your father’s eyes. “He saw potential in me, where you didn’t. Promised I could become something that the world would look up to, he believed in my skills, unlike you. He even asked me to be his successor which I gladly am!” you growled before bending your knees, your tongue came out to swipe across your lips.
Though you tasted dirt and iron, “Now that you’re a quirkless loser, I think this will be easy,” you activated your original quirk, it was nothing compared to the more powerful quirks one could be born with. But, it was strong enough to get the job done and you wanted the satisfaction of being able to kill your father with your own power. Hear that jawbone snap and watch as his blood spilled. With that blissful thought, you kicked off the ground. Bending your body so you could perform a direct uppercut to his jaw, it seemed All Might was still in shock. Which meant, he had no defense.
He could only accept the fact that karma was finally here to bite him in the ass. You smiled as you got closer, hand raised and fingers curled tightly together. But, as usual, nothing was ever that easy. You could hear a scream, and just before you turned your head to look. You saw Izuku’s fist come, “Leave him alone!” he cried and you quickly turned your body in an effort to stop him. Instead of your fist reaching All Might, it collided with Izuku’s. You could feel your knuckles snap and break, which caused pain to shoot through your already damaged arm and shoulder.
You growled, feeling the impact begin to force you back. Your feet were being forcibly moved along the limited ground despite the fact you were desperately digging them into the earth. “Stop. It,” you demanded with a hiss, you knew any further and you wouldn’t have solid ground. Your eyes were half-lidded and through the swirling debris, you could make out his facial expression. No surprise, he was pretty pissed. “You’re not going to hurt him or anyone else!” Izuku screamed and your eyes widened when he pulled his arm back.
You cursed yourself for not dodging or at least attempting to create distance, for that fist came back and collided with your face. Your head forcibly turned to the side and your jaw, along with a few select teeth broke. This only caused more blood to fill your mouth. A cry of pain left you, only to be swallowed as you choked on the blood that found its way down your throat. The next thing that occurred was your body flying, only to be stopped when your back collided with the sharp jagged edge of what was once the street.
Blood dripped down your chin, thick lines making their way down your neck and soaking into the collar of your tattered shirt. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as you then fell forward, your body disappearing into the darkness. You felt the impact of several metal pipes hit your body, it almost seemed like they were working together. Every hit to your body caused an agonizing surge of pain and you partly wished you had just died. A weak cry escaped you when you finally hit solid ground.
You had fallen into a puddle of water and you could hear the sound of mice squeaking in this otherwise quiet place. You groaned in pain, feeling every part of your body ache. You were too afraid to move, knowing the slightest of movement would cause a violent wave of pain that was enough to paralyze you as a whole. You knew your jaw was broken, you doubted it was still connected on the side Izuku had punched. Blood continued to pour from your mouth and you swore one of your ribs had pierced through your lung.
Every time you tried to breathe, you ended up weakly coughing blood back up. Another groan came and you quietly spoke, “D-Did...I...do...good?” the question went unanswered and darkness clouded your vision. On the surface, All Might was still in shock. “Y/n!” he cried as he ran to the edge of the caved-in road, it was almost like a sinkhole. It would be hard to spot a human down below, but All Might still tried to make out your figure. He was clearly angry, his small skinny body trembling as he curled his fists and turned to face Izuku.
“What the hell were you thinking, kid!?” he snapped, which confused Izuku, “I…I was only trying to p-protect you, All Might. She w-was going to hit you and-” All Might shook his head, “That’s not how you handle a situation like that, if I was her target-ah. Forget it,” he growled before pointing, “Go down there and find her!” he snapped and Izuku took a step back. He was almost afraid All Might would hit him if he didn’t follow through with the order. He opened his mouth, about to speak his opinion when a dark and eerie chuckle came.
All For One was watching the whole spectacle from a distance. He felt rather amused during the first half of the battle, he was quite pleased to know how much pain and damage your body could take. How well the quirks he gave you were adjusting to your body, though he believed you had poorly chosen when to use your quirks and for what purpose. Nothing more training couldn’t fix. Still, All For One used his Warping quirk to appear before All Might and Izuku. Foolishly, Izuku activated his quirk. Ready to jump and attack, but All Might put his arm out and pressed it against Izuku’s chest.
A fair enough motion to get his point across, “Seems you’re a little shocked, All Might. I must say, I expected a little more fight out of your successor. Of course, I suppose enough of a punishment for you is not only seeing your successor fail just as you have failed but knowing your own selfish actions caused your only daughter to turn against you,” All Might lowered his brows, his lips turned in a frown. Yes, there were many ways he could have been a better father to you. Showed you he cared and took your feelings into consideration. But, nothing would change the result of this.
Izuku growled, desperately fighting the urge to jump and start another fight. Despite his body already being damaged, everything made sense now. All For One corrupted your mind, made you turn against your loved ones. His jaw tightened and his fists shook as he lowered his head, “All Might...I c-can’t forgive him, he...he poisoned Y-Y/n’s mind!” he hissed, feeling his anger slowly begin to consume him, and while All Might agreed. It didn’t appear like All For One had come to cause more damage, more than likely he was only retrieving you.
It made your father sick thinking what further corruption All For One would expose you to. It hurt him, knowing he couldn’t save you. Knowing he had no choice in the matter of your fate, “I know…” he whispered sadly as he lowered his arm, believing Izuku would behave himself. “Don’t worry, you’ll see, Y/n again. Very soon,” his words almost seemed like a threat. Another warp gate appeared beside All For One and Izuku had already assumed the villain had collected you.
He screamed out when the evil man disappeared into the darkness of that warp gate and All Might immediately restrained him. Wrapping his arms around the green-haired boy, though it wasn’t an easy task. “Calm down! You’re already injured enough. There is nothing we do for now,” he tried to reason, but Izuku continued to carry on. Violent tears streaming down his face, yet there was a hint of determination shining in his eyes. He would save you, he would make this right.
You could feel yourself floating, at first you assumed you were dead. However, you could still wiggle your fingertips which you took as a good sign. But, you still felt weighed down by something. Slowly you opened your eyes, seeing your world was tinted blue and air bubbles floated past your vision. Your hair was floating in separate strands around you and it quickly clicked you were submerged in water. You reached up, touching the mask that was strapped to your face and your fingertips brushed the plastic tube that came along with it.
More than likely that was the source providing you with oxygen. You then looked at your hand, noticing it was scarred up. Your arm seemed to be the same, long jagged dark lines ran from your wrist to your inner elbow. You assumed a massive amount of scar tissue made up your shoulder, but at least the pain you remember having before blacking out was gone. You weren’t sure if that was something you should be grateful for.
You glanced around, you could make out several machines on the outside of the glass. Each one flashed with a particular sequence of lights, which confused you. However, the most familiar thing was a small television in the corner of the room. You could see shots of the damage you had done to the city, you couldn’t read the headline that flashed on the bottom of the screen. But, your eyes widened when you saw the scene switch to your father.
You leaned forward, pressing one hand to the glass as you watched your father speak. He looked tired, shocked, and utterly disappointed. You could tell there was hurt in his eyes, well...it was what he deserved, right? You leaned back, nearly choking on your own gasp when you heard the sound of a heavy door open. You could hear chattering, but to you in your water prison, it sounded like nothing but water currents. You saw two figures come into view, one was short and wore a white lab coat, and the other you recognized as All For One.
“How pathetic, All Might begging for his daughter back,” he hissed, clearly disgusted at such a thing. It was amusing to a point when a hero fell, but now it was just pitiful. He crossed his arms before turning to look at you and for some reason, you felt a small amount of fear consume you. He walked over and pressed a hand against the glass that separated you. “Don’t worry now, my beautiful successor. You did well, I am very proud of you. Don’t be scared now, your body should be stable enough to handle more quirks,” he leaned closer, and his shadow cast over you.
Though his words were unrecognizable to you, the feeling of uncertainty made your stomach twist. “Then you’ll succeed where I failed, All Might won his battle against me, yes. But you, you will win against his successor and pave the path for a better world.” you shivered when he tapped the glass and turned away from you. Becoming All For One’s successor was not an easy task, you knew this from the start. But part of you couldn’t help but wonder what step was next and if you truly wanted it.

((Azazel's abilities(and some combat abilities for the other Missionaries as they continue to be side characters when this event ends)
Azazel is ridiculously powerful. He's easily the most powerful member of the Missionaries, after Nyarlathotep.
Shame about the chains that keep his power and true form locked away.
Rule of Revelation (Sacred Artifact: Bible "Eyes of the Fallen")
Azazel's Bible is always on his person. He does NOT put it down and does not give it to people except those he trusts. He's willing at times to show its contents to people but he won't let most anyone hold it.
If you do get a hold of it it will stop working/won't show you anything. It will just become a book with glowing symbols on/in it or a regular Bible with an eye on the front.
Eyes of the Fallen allows Azazel to view and proccess anything the pages see, including outside of Missionaries territory.
In order to use Eyes of the Fallen, Azazel needs to expose his chains, causing him to remove his cassock.
Azazel can move the pages wherever he pleases. They're magical so there's some resistance in them, however they are paper and thus easily destroyed or removed or displaced.
Large eyes made of light will appear in the sky over large areas he's searching.
Within Missionaries Territory Azazel can see anything without the aid of his Artifact.
Azazel can see anything there is to be seen and a bit more. Though he can't see "how" someone came to be who/what they are, he can see their current form and see them for what they really are(MC has 24+ souls and he can see and identify them all; Nomad is a human modified into a tiger and he can see his human soul; Shino is a Shadow/ghost/etc and he can see that he's no longer really alive/his original form; when Raphael made them all see zombies and the Fisher King he was able to confirm they weren't real zombies but the memories of a past occurrence; etc)
He can both see and hear things, however the other senses don't work.
There are little to no combat capabilities to Eyes of the Fallen.
Healing capabilities slightly described below.
Magic & Game Unit Skills
Azazel is insanely powerful to the point that his Summopedia page described him as being the most powerful of the Missionaries. However his chains prevent him from accessing his true form or power.
Azazel is able to use bursts of Aether(equivalent Light, Holy, etc) magic despite being a Fallen Angel.
They're not super strong, but they do have a decent range. He can use them more or less infinitely due to his huge power reserve that's otherwise restricted to him.
He's able to heal himself and others. In-game limits this to using Eyes of The Fallen/his Charge Skill and only to allies in his immediate vicinity, so I'll consider this healing happening through use of the pages of his Artifact over wounds.
Applies the effect 'Blessing' to his allies around himself(heals over time temporarily.)
Can remove a debuff of people he hits; weaken(defense) of people he hits; temporarily prevent use of skills of those he hits; heal allies after damaging opponents
Taking damage can strengthen allies(increase their charge points, which isn't really a concern in terms of writing since they can use their powers more or less instantly)
Misc
Azazel has wings he can magically produce/retract. He can use them to fly.
Azazel's pain tolerance is obscenely high. He responds to pain as though it's pleasure.
Azazel cannot be killed. Killing him will change him into his true form.
Breaking his chains(accessible only to beings with powers on level with a Supreme God/King of Gods; Archangel Raphael; and entities with Rules that can cut through/break/open things absolutely(MC's Rule of Rending, primarily) and a few others) will also change him into his true form and return to him his powers.
Eyes of the Fallen and some other things can make his tail turn from a goat tail into a snake tail. His scales are slightly keeled and more keeled when agitated/fighting, making them spiky like a spiny bush viper
Exists but is inaccessible--a spear with the Rule of Corruption inherit in his true body. Cannot access it unless chains are 'loosened' by an Archangel or are cut enough maybe????? I haven't decided how this headcanon works since he can't use it anyway
Under the cut a small rundown on side characters' powers
Arsalan:
Artifact is a shamshir that can spray an infinite amount of sacred oil
Oil is fired at a speed that can knock one off their feet or knock weapons out of one's hand
Oil is obviously slippery and heavy enough to prevent use of wings as well; holding things and maintaining footing is very difficult
Allies are adept at fighting through/with his oil and thus are uninhibited except if their wings get too oily
Always covered in oil himself, hard to hold on to
Oil has healing properties(Unction), hurts enemies after they've been hit by Arsalan(Unction Weakness)
Oil is flammable, Zabaniyya controls his flames and uses the oil to spread Hellfire if need be(see: Zabaniyya)
Sword is strong against demons in particular; sacred oil is all over his body and makes him strong against/resistant to demons as well
Rarely uses sword as weapon, sticks to oil and physical combat unless given permission by Jacob or in a desperate situation that requires it
Physically and mentally extremely strong and resilient, uninhibited by his own oils even when manhandling enemies via wrestling
Sword allows him to resist oil and temptation as well
Teeth and claws are very sharp
Incredible leader, almost all of Aoyama Guild will obey him without question
Maria
Artifact is thorns that can move pain to and from others and herself(including painful memories)
Thorns are able to grow just about anywhere, including inside, and cover spaces
Applies Stigma to herself and those she hits or is hit by(applies damage over time and reduces defense)
Heals self and allies, especially by transferring damage from them to enemies through thorns
Temporarily disable skills
Leader of the Aoyama Guild, obeyed by most of the current members
Gabriel
Rule/Sacred Artifact(undisclosed? May be a microphone?/magical girl wand?) allows her to drive others to madness through the power of moonlight. Dubiously part of her Rule is her ability to make others fall for/obey her simply by commanding them
Likely also has a sword Artifact, rarely uses it, similar circumstances as Arsalan
The latter usually is used to make people stop attacking(Charm)
Very support-based, strengthening, healing, and motivating self and allies through song and magic
Has wings, can fly quickly
Maddened people are probably controllable by her, or at least they adore her and will probably listen and attack allies that threaten her?
Zabaniyya
Role of the Torturer; Rule of Hellfire; Sacred Artifact is a fiery spear, however he doesn't use it, similar circumstances to Arsalan
Fights using martial arts, mastering the 'Fiery Spear Hand' in which he channels his weapon through his hands
Can also fight from a distance using fire, but rarely does
Inflicts internal and external burns through his Artifact. Rule of Hellfire under the Role of the Torturer causes eternal pain.
Internally burning all the time, high pain tolerance, considers pain a penance and doesn't shy away from it very much; probably essentially immune to fire? Basically a firey tank. V high defense.
Applies Stigma and deals additional damage to those afflicted with Stigma and Burn; also applies Stigma to those who hit him
Can harm others from a distance using a chain of cross-shaped flames if they're afflicted with Stigma; chains are probably homing?
Heals allies apparently???
Rule of Hellfire purges people of sin and evil through flames, thus likely more effective against demons
Can ignite flames of passion/love, although he refuses to do this
Has wings, can fly, rarely uses them
Will not fight unless ordered by appropriate parties or the enemy has broken divine law
Kimun/Wen Kamui
Rule allows him to strip others (of their growth). Artifact is the 'Mankiller Sword' which he uses on himself as Kimun and others as Wen.
Mankiller Sword, if it's able to strip someone of their clothing, fur, hair, or flesh, is able to spawn a copy of the person's past self for them to fight--losing the fight against themself will cause them to lose their growth. If they win, the copy disappears.
Can spawn multiple copies if he cuts them multiple times
Can duplicate himself this way as well
Copies(of himself or enemies) might not cooperate with him although they mostly obey, depends on the person and their traumas/what they're struggling to grow or move on from/etc
Temporarily can't attack after doing this????/after using his Charge Skill
Can copy enemy buffs
Able to heal self and allies
Very high defense and pain tolerance due to his role/rule causing him to strip himself of his own skin/pelt/fur to give it to others
Hurts you even if he misses.
Unable to be frozen
Can apply freeze(lowers defense, damage over time) if he misses
Jacob
Sacred Artifact is a Pillar allowing him to remember all previous loops; connected to the Tree of Life in Eden; cannot be killed
Sacred Artifact is the Archangel Uriel's whirling sword of flame. Doesn't use it in flame form most of the time, only uses it to enhance his punches and kicks and movements; it also guides him around due to his blindness; also able to restore people's memories from previous loops(including people he doesn't know and he "can reach even those who have never appeared in this Tokyo with his Rule") and makes a pillar of holy light that leads to the Tree of Life in Eden, making him more effective against either angels or the undead(hard to tell because it was used against undead angels, possibly both)
Blind, thus unaffected by anything that requires sight
Leader of the Aoyama Guild, although a lot of people aren't aware of it due to his absence, thus obeyed by most of its members(if not all of them because the Admins obey him)
Can multihit/punch very fast. He's no Captain Falcon but his fists are Dangerous.
Relies mostly on sound for navigation but can also be guided by his Artifact. Can probably blind others with the massive pillar of light from it.
Cannot be forced to move backwards. Can pull people in a certain range towards him/get in people's personal space easily to fight since he fights with his fists
Weakens enemies, applies Blessing(healing over time) to himself
Artifact heals him, removes ALL debuffs, and makes him highly resistent to damage temporarily
Artifact also provides him a shield that keeps him from being exposed to life-threatening conditions(Korpokkur's blizzard is how we learned about this--also keeps him warm and guides him to people and things he should meet)
Takes less damage from other close range fighters using their bare hands/fists(and any enhancements like knuckles, claws, etc--basically if you're a Blow unit/hit in a singular space in front of you he takes less damage from you)
Can use his Artifact as a sword but generally refuses to. It's a big, spinning sword of flame and would apply burn but he avoids using it because he hates weapons
NPC Angels
Primarily attack in a group. Always guarding the Church and its activities and almost always accompany its admins. The church is rarely unattended.
Fight with spears which can be thrown. Some level of magic?
Apply stigma to hit enemies. Deal more damage to Stigmafied enemies.
Can heal surrounding allies.
Nyarlathotep
You just die. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tumblr media
Tedious. At least, that’s what it should’ve been. Yet instead of feeling the normal bouts of irritation at the lack of control he had over the situation at hand, he felt...unnerved. The imaginary seed that was implanted in his stomach all those months ago seemed to only gain in mass.
“...Who are you?”
He shouldn’t have allowed himself to grow these...feelings. Not only did he feel contaminated and utterly sick to his stomach, but the strange ache in his chest did nothing to help soothe his frazzled nerves as those curious yet dim (e/c) hues peered into his sorrowful golden ones.
“...My name is Chisaki Kai...”
“Oh! Hello Chisaki.”
A bout of coughing and another grimace as the pain in his chest amplified tenfold at the horrifying sound. It disgusted him. It truly did, yet instead of feeling the need to get away, he wanted to get closer to her. To comfort her-- hell to shake some common sense into her. Even if it meant he would break out, he just had to do something.
“I...apologize if this seems rude...”
“What is it?”
“...what happened to your arms?”
“...I lost them because I was careless. This...I suppose, is my punishment.”
Her curious stare continued to wash over him as he felt the prickle of goosebumps rise on his shoulders. Turning away, he kept his gaze on the vacant wall of the hospital ward. This was torturous. She was torturous.
Yet still she managed to worm her way into his heart, and he didn’t know whether or not if he wanted to ask for cardiac surgery or to embrace this newfound emotion.
All he really knew was that if he had only been smarter-- hell maybe even faster at coming up with the quirk-destroying drug he could’ve prevented this. He could’ve gotten rid of the parasite that lurked in her veins.
➽───────────────❥
6 Months Ago
“Patient name: (y/n) (l/n). Quirk: Amnesiac.”
Trudging down the corridor, the man once known as Overhaul, walked in step alongside his parole officer / attending doctor. It hadn’t been too long since his arrest and...amputation. In all honesty, he wondered why he was being granted this rare privilege.
An assistant for a patient. That’s all they had told him. Of course Kai had to scoff. How on earth was he supposed to help? With the lack of usable limbs and knowledge limited to that of basic medical needs he didn’t really find a real necessity in this patient’s apparent ‘recovery’.
“...Amnesiac?”
“As it’s name implies, it’s a quirk that deals the user amnesia--- yet in our patient’s case it not only forces her to lose her memories, but practically breaks down her body’s physical state.”
“...In simpler terms?”
“In short every time she loses her memory her body deteriorates along with it. It’s as if her body is, in a sense...rewinding itself forward to make up for the fact that she lost those memories.”
A grimace. If he could, he would’ve spat out that he had been right in his assumption that quirks were just an infestation to the world, this patient clearly being a poor victim of it.
“...And what is my purpose of ‘assisting’ you?”
“As far as I’m aware, you’re pretty damn heartless and selfish. So it should be easy for you to not catch feelings for her whilst being a constant in her life right?”
“A...constant.”
“Yeah, just someone who she sees everyday until well...”
“She passes.”
“I mean...yeah. Damn you really are heartless.”
“Tch. This is a waste of my time is what this is.”
“Hey, you’re helping me whether you want to or not man. It’s just a visit everyday for like, an hour or two at most.”
Another grimace was given as Kai felt a shiver run down his spine. Despite the place he would be in was a hospital, it still brought the ex-yakuza boss a sense of dread. Especially with the amount of infested bodies that littered the place.
“...how long?”
“Holy shit dude, I get that you don’t want to do this but seriously---”
“How long until she loses her memory you dumbass.”
“..Oh. Well, from what we gather they can last from a day, to a couple of months. Though the longer she stays in a...well, let’s call it a session, the more it harms her body.”
“So say she forgets me tomorrow.”
“Then her body moves forward a day.”
“....After a month?”
“She lurches forward a month.”
“Thus leading to a quick progression in her deteriorating health.”
“...Exactly.”
It was, to say the least, unsettling to hear. Never had he heard of such a sickening twist for a quirk. No matter, the deal was simple. If he was lucky, this would last a year-- as fucked up as it sounded, the sooner she passed the less she would suffer in the long run.
As they neared the door, the clear unease that settled on his features was one that his parole doctor could see from a mile away.
“Chill dude, it’ll be fine.”
With that, the door cracked open, and there seated quietly whilst reading a book was a woman. By any standards she was normal, average, easy on the eyes with a slight fae-like feel. Though really it was most likely the early evening glow that cascaded into her room the moment they entered.
All Kai really knew was that it was the moment when gold met glittering (e/c) hues that a seed lodged it’s way into his stomach.
➽───────────────❥
It had started off easy-- well in Kai’s opinion it had. Every other day seemed to be a new start to the ritual that was re-introducing himself to her and making small talk.
In all honesty, he wouldn’t admit it, but the simplicity of being able to have a normal conversation with someone brought a sense of peace in him. Of course this didn’t mean his usual snark and calculating ways-- or so he says.
For Kai, this change in routine was oddly enough, welcomed. With everything he had gone and the collogues he had imprisoned god knows where, the opportunity to engage in small talk was to say the least, enlightening. It had surprised him. As someone who sought out tactical moves in reading his opponents, he found himself at ease with the simplicity of where he was at.
Granted it was albeit dull in comparison to the interrogations he goes through, it was still a part of his routine that he refused to change. Not when he’s been so invested in it.
That changes when the day he enters her room to find that instead of having to reintroduce himself to her, she remembers him. She flashes him a gentle smile with an endearing, “How are you?” and that in itself has the former yakuza leader lose his breath as he can only comically blink at her before forcing himself to adjust to this strange change.
No later did another change occur that brought a wave of new emotions in him. She had touched him. A caress to his cheek, and unsurprisingly in that moment he broke out in hives. His sight blurring as panic shot through his system at the abundance of thoughts that struck his head as the irritation from the hives had him reeling away from her.
He didn’t see her distressed face. Nor did he see the tears that streamed down her cheeks as she desperately sought out someone to help him. Instead, he awoke to his room laying down with his hives treated.
He felt violated. Disgusted, yet still. Even with that he found himself at her door a week later. Prepared to start a new with her and a possible replay of what had happened a week prior. Instead, he found her bowed deeply at the waist as she tightly clutched at the thin fabric of her hospital gown.
“I’m so sorry Chisaki! I didn’t know...I deeply apologize for what had happened!”
“...You...remembered?”
“Of course! You’re someone I can never forget.”
The pit in his stomach grew tenfold as his feet began to walk towards the awaiting lounge chair. Golden hues met truthful (e/c) ones as she shifted uncomfortably in her seat before once again bowing.
“I really am sorry...I shouldn’t have reached out to you like that...”
“...just be more aware next time.”
And like that, the pit in his stomach continued to grow. With each passing day she retained her memories, the more the pit swelled in size, and the more she began to work her way into his heart.
➽───────────────❥
Present Day
He didn’t know why he felt an overwhelming pressure in his gut. The lack of food he ate was odd enough, but to actively avoid something out of his daily routine? It was unheard of. He even made that stupid request to ask his parole doctor to grab (y/n) that stupid drink she liked.
Mentally shaking his head, Kai lightly tapped his shoe against the door before sliding it open.
The sight bestowed upon him though was one that could’ve brought him to his knees as the pang in his chest seemed to duly ache as he dragged his feet into the room.
“...(y/n)?”
It was quiet. The warm beams of the spring sun settled on her pale features as dim (e/c) orbs glimmered at the sight of him. He should’ve seen this coming. Especially after she had remembered him the day it set everything out of pattern. Instead, he turned a blind eye. Out of pure ignorance? He wasn’t remotely sure anymore. All he knew was that she shouldn’t be like this.
She should be her stupid lively self, cracking jokes and sharing her stupid stories with him. Not laying there like a corpse.
“Ah...Chi-- Kai, sorry you caught me waking up from a nap. I’m sorry I don’t look more presentable...”
“Nonsense. Now, tell me what you’ve done today.”
“Straight to the point huh? Sometimes I wonder how you’d ever date anyone.”
Though weak, the teasing tone she held in her voice was one that added more weight to his chest as he seated himself in what she declared the ‘(y/n)’s best friend’s chair’. A stupid name if you asked him, but he wouldn’t tell her that.
And like that, she spoke of her day, simple tasks and duties she’s done during her stay at the hospital while Kai listened to her as the best friend she claimed he was.
As for the new name basis, Kai couldn’t tell anyone when it picked up. All he knew was that it didn’t piss him off as much as it should’ve.
As the time neared for him to leave, she stopped him. A look of hesitance on her face as irritation seemed to grow on his own.
“What is it?”
“....Can I hold your face?”
“What?!”
“With gloves on!”
The statement caught him by surprise. Already he felt the disgusting voices in the back of his head whisper at him yet instead of acting on those voices he found himself mutely staring at her as she fumbled over her words.
All he could really pick out was the light blush that was on her cheeks. The spark of color that brought his feet towards her bedside as she stared up at him with shock in those (e/c) eyes.
“Tch. What are you waiting for?”
Caught off guard, she could only stare at him for a moment before giddily shifting herself to get off the bed. A noise of distaste left his throat at her motion as she merely rolled her eyes and shushed him as she went to fervently clean her hands before snapping on the gloves.
Yet as she did this he couldn’t help but feel the ache in his chest grow even more at the sight of her frail hands and the subtle appearance of a bruise around her wrist at her careless motion of snapping the gloves on. This was immediately forgone as she walked up to him, mindful to keep a distance before she hesitantly held her hands out in a flower cup motion.
At first, Kai had no idea what she was doing, but as he grew to analyze the situation-- as well as remember the odd videos and photos she decided to show him as she sought a sort of relationship herself-- he carefully put his chin into her hands. The hesitancy of her fingers brushing his cheeks pulled a new sort of fondness in his chest as he finally relaxed his cheek against her shy hand.
Golden eyes peered deeply into glimmering (e/c) as he watched her face light up with the most color he had see on her that day. Satisfied, he waited until she finally let go.
“...Thank you, Kai.”
“No problem.”
“No really...thank you...for everything.”
Unease quickly overtook the fondness in his heart as he straightened himself out. Confusion was clearly matted onto his features as he stared down at her.
“...Why are you saying that?”
“What? I can’t say what I want for once? You let me all the time so just let me say this too!”
Finding the whole situation uncomfortable, Kai made his way to the door once more. Though before he left he motioned with his head for her to get back into bed. In response, he got her usual snark as she stuck her tongue out before carefully getting back into bed.
“If you’re on good behavior tomorrow, I’ll have your doctor bring you that drink of yours.”
The light in her eyes was enough to satisfy him and his worries as she nodded quickly before giving him a mock salute as she excitedly got herself comfy in the bed.
“Alright, you promised Kai~!”
➽───────────────❥
“Who are you?”
It should’ve have hurt him as much as it did, but after 6 fucking months. 6 months of her being a daily part of his life where she did not forget him for a single moment came crashing down. The tremble that clutched tightly to his words as he re-introduced himself went unnoticed as he slowly made his way towards the lounge chair that was once considered to be (y/n)’s best friend’s chair.
“...My name is Chisaki Kai.”
“Oh! Hello Chisaki.”
He could tell she was straining with keeping up a happy front. Her appearance was frail. So delicate that he feared anyone who touched her would be the cause of her disappearing before his eyes. The drink he had requested for her sat innocently on the bedside table as she gave him a reassuring smile.
“It’s going to be okay...”
“...what?”
“You look...distressed, I wanted to just reassure you things will be okay.”
No they won’t. He wanted to scream it at her, that the rasp in her voice was punching holes into his gut. That the frail breathing she had was worse than his quirk being taken away from him.
And in that moment, they stayed in silence. Merely watching one another with mixed emotions before he broke back into the routine he once thought would be meaningless.
“...What did you do today?”
Her words, though slow, told him of a peaceful day. One with little adventures and many simple moments that he’s come to slowly appreciate in his own life.
Though as the hour of his leave came, he found it hard to get up from the chair. His feet staying practically cemented to the floor as he watched her peer out the window as the warm rays of the early evening sun cascaded over her. Much like it had that day he first saw her.
Forcefully pushing himself up from the chair, he made his way towards the door. Yet each step he took towards it the more the aching feeling in his chest grew as the fear of his last day in that room came to it’s due date.
“...Kai? Can you turn around for me...just once?”
The words caught him completely off guard as he turned to face her. Those eyes no longer were filed with guarded walls. Instead he was met with the face of (y/n). The woman he came to slowly adore within the past 6 months.
He didn’t even think. Instead he surged forward, practically bruising his legs at the force he decided to stop himself with. Though he didn’t care. The bruises be damned, she remembered him.
“...Can I hold your face? One more time? I promise I won’t ask again. I’ll even wear gloves!”
“...No need.”
The aching in his chest grew tenfold as he found it hard to speak. The overwhelming emotions that sat in his chest were ready to burst out of him. Though he wasn’t sure how. Instead he bent down slightly, finding her confused face even more endearing before he rolled his eyes.
“Well?”
“B-But...the hives---”
“I don’t care. Hurry the fuck up.”
Like that, the confusion vanished as she gently put her hands together in that familiar flower cup motion. Worry was clearly evident in her eyes as she looked at him, but before she could even question again he placed his chin into her awaiting hands. Already the prickly sensation of the hives began to pool as he could feel them form across his skin.
“K-Kai--”
“It’s fine. Shut up. You said you won’t ask again.”
“T-That’s true...”
“Tch. You can make it up to me by getting better so I can show you the world.”
“...when you’re not in prison anymore, right?”
“Right...”
It was hard to speak now. The lump that once was in his stomach had traveled to his throat as he watched her warm (e/c) glisten with unshed tears as she gently caressed his cheeks, ever so mindful of his hives as she tried to at least move her hands. Instead, the male pressed himself further into her touch as the tears began to fall. If anyone noticed the strain in his voice, they didn’t mention it.
“...If you’re gonna be greedy that do what you’ve been wanting to do you romantic obsessed moron.”
With that, she shifted forward before pressing a sweet kiss to his forehead as the tears came down harder. The lump in his throat making it almost unbearable to talk.
“...Thank you Kai...thank you so much for these six months...”
“.....”
“Don’t forget me...okay?”
“Idiot...as if I could even forget the one dumbass that made me breakout after my imprisonment.”
A weak laugh was given as she finally pulled away. With her eyes rimmed red, she shifted to make a call for a nurse, though that was cut short as Kai surprisingly climbed into her bed. No words were exchanged as she reluctantly shifted herself down into the bed-- though it did take time, she managed to curl herself in a way where she left distance between them.
“...aren’t you supposed to go?”
Featherlike and faint, he strained to hear her as he shifted himself down to properly face her as he melted in her (e/c) gaze. The slow dimming of life in her eyes was enough to tell him that it was time. However, he refused to believe it. If anything he’d find her awake the next day with that silly smile on her face. Yet even as he thought about this, the tears that he once thought were impossible for him, slowly began to stream down his cheeks as he nestled himself closer to her.
“....one day won’t kill them.”
“...mmm...”
“....go to sleep angel, I’ll be right here...”
“...and...you’ll be next to me?”
“...always.”

Meta – Wanda & Vision Having Children Naturally: Pregnancy, Medical Complications, & Caring for the Twins
[ Trigger Warnings: Heavy medical and hospital themes having to do with pregnancy and babies ahead! ]
This meta contains all my headcanons for Wanda getting pregnant naturally by Vision, what that means for her pregnancy and health, and what raising real, half-human, half-synthezoid children is like. I’d like to have some threads with Wanda and Vision regarding the twins if possible, so I’m getting everything written down here for reference purposes. If you have any questions or comments about anything in here, let me know!
POTENTIAL AUS IN WHICH THIS COULD HAPPEN
Without Vision – Wanda has Vision’s twins, but he remains dead. Either he’s harvested and repurposed into a weapon by SWORD as he was in WandaVision, or Wanda is able to reclaim his body for burial, but he remains dead and Wanda, at least for now, is a single mother. I would be willing to write this AU either as Wanda or as another character relating to Wanda if someone else wants to write her.
With Dad!Vision – Vision’s body is taken by SWORD, but either in the early stages of her pregnancy or after the twins are born, she confronts Hayward as she did in WandaVision. Except this time, instead of leaving after she determines that she can no longer feel him, Wanda has an emotional burst of magic (like she did when she created the Hex) that, instead of creating a temporary new Vision, infuses Vision’s original body with the energy from the mind stone that she’s been storing inside her. This essentially restores Vision’s soul, memories, and personality. All that remains is to reassemble him. In an AU where Tony Stark survives Endgame, he could help Dr. Cho not only reassemble him but also restore his organic content as well, which would otherwise have rotted away during the five years he was dead. Or… a huge fudge could be done and we could just say that Wanda reassembles him and restores his organic content herself as part of her emotional magical outburst. Vision would then be restored to Infinity War status, as himself, with all his memories and emotional capacity intact. He can then help Wanda raise their twins and would likely ask her to marry him, which he was planning on doing before everything went to hell in a handbasket in Infinity War anyway. I would be willing to write this AU as either Wanda or Vision.
PREGNANCY AND BIRTH: SPECIES INCOMPATIBILITY AND LIFE-THREATNING MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS
I tend to get very detailed and realistic when I flesh out topics like this, so I didn’t just want to gloss over things and say that Wanda has a normal pregnancy. She really shouldn’t. Even if Vision is capable of reproduction (which my version of him is) and conception can occur, there are a lot of issues with Wanda carrying partially-synthezoidal children. Their genetics would be combined, and as such, their physiologies would be a blend of human and synthezoid. What does that mean for them as far as their health, appearance, and capabilities? I’ll get to that later. But first… what effect does this have on Wanda’s health as the pregnancy progresses?
Early on, the pregnancy is fairly normal, or at least there isn’t enough wrong to set off any warning bells with regard to her health. But as it progresses, Wanda will start to experience metal toxicity and vitamin deficiency symptoms. She’ll have balance problems, she might slur her words at times, she feels weak, shaky, and has fainting spells. Her skin will also become very pale, almost translucent. This occurs because most of the vibranium atoms that were contained in Vision’s… donation to Wanda, eh-hem… have already been incorporated into the twins’ bodies, and now they need more. In the absence of more vibranium, they start to compromise by drawing away other vitamins and minerals from Wanda’s body. Whatever vibranium atoms were not incorporated into the twins ended up in Wanda’s blood and organs, causing her various potentially life-threatening side effects.
The result is that neither mother nor babies are doing very well, but by this point (probably at around three months in), Wanda’s health would be noticeably bad enough for her to get help or for anyone who sees her to reach out to get her medical assistance. Eventually she will be placed under Dr. Cho’s care. Why? Well it was her technology that created Vision’s physical body, and aside from Tony, she’s the one who would know the most about what might be required by offspring of someone with such a body. Tests will need to be done on Wanda and on each of her babies to determine what is going on in their blood, which would then give a clearer picture of what was wrong, missing, etc.
Basically, it is determined that the twins need an influx of free vibranium atoms to incorporate into their bodies as they grow. They also need a specialized panel of vitamins and minerals to grow properly. Wanda, on the other hand, needs the normal human amounts of certain vitamins and minerals for herself, but then also needs to be protected from vibranium toxicity and unwanted substances ending up in her blood. Wanda lives where Dr. Cho’s laboratory is located, and is mostly told to rest as much as possible. The less she stresses her system, the better. Twice a week, her blood needs to be cleaned of any toxic substances via a filtration process not unlike dialysis. She’s placed on a strict diet as well. Ports are carefully placed for each twin that allow for vibranium atoms and essential nutrients to be directly injected into the babies.
Because this is an extremely delicate and precarious procedure to place the ports without disrupting Wanda’s pregnancy or harming the babies, she’s basically bedridden to limit the potential for tears and other injuries. Very quickly, Wanda is forced to confront and overcome her fears of doctors, labs, and needles, which is a daunting task for her. The only thing that gets her through it is the very real knowledge that the pregnancy might fail without this intervention. At this point, Vision would likely still be dead in either AU, and so Wanda views her babies as the last living parts of Vision. She’s willing to do anything, no matter how painful or frightening, to carry her twins to term.
At around 7 ½ months, however… things begin to look grim. Despite the blood filtration processes and other attempts to keep Wanda as healthy as possible, her health begins to decline again. The stress and strain of carrying two unique babies whose genetics and biochemistry are partially incompatible with her own begins to take its toll. Dr. Cho and likely Clint or anyone else who’s been frequently caring for or staying with Wanda eventually need to have a very difficult conversation with her. If she continues with the pregnancy, there’s still a chance it might fail early, but the longer she can hold out, the better chance her babies will have of surviving after they’re born. However, the longer she holds out, the greater chance that life-threatening complications will occur, such as more seizures, strokes, and toxicity conditions. In short, she’s told that she could deliver the twins early and survive, but because the twins are unique beings, there is no guarantee that they will have developed enough to survive at this point… or… she continues to carry them, and she may lose her life. Wanda chooses to continue, because she’s willing to die to give her twins the best chance they can possibly have.
Wanda is able to make it to 8 ½ months before something changes and her health declines rapidly. When she loses consciousness, the decision is made to deliver the twins by C-section. Once that’s done, Wanda is stabilized, and a potential tragedy is averted.
CARING FOR INFANT TWINS
The twins are kept on much the same supplements of vibranium, nutrients, and other minerals as they were in the womb. A powder is basically custom-designed for Wanda that she can mix into their milk. In addition to breastfeeding them, once a day she bottle feeds them milk containing the dissolved vitamin supplement. This ensures the twins have what their bodies need to grow properly. Otherwise, they’re normal, happy, healthy babies that mostly appear human to those who don’t know their unique genetics.
At only a couple months old, however, Wanda begins to notice a few interesting things about her sons, and the reasons why they required vibranium atoms begins to become apparent. Occasionally while dressing or changing them, Wanda notices patches on their bodies that look just like Vision’s “skin.” They’re red, they’re textured, sometimes they’re hard, and at other times they’re soft. The patches don’t remain, but rather they come and go, seemingly at random. At times, Wanda even catches it happening in real time, seeing their skin ripple and change, just like Vision’s did when he was employing his human disguise. The curious thing though, is that the twins are not synthezoids, but neither are they human. Their genetic code, their blood lab results, and various other statistics come back inconclusive, anomalous, or otherwise different than normal humans. They are their own unique beings, a hybrid species.
As the twins grow and become more mobile, crawling around and such, Wanda notices that sometimes the synthezoid skin would appear as a result of impact trauma. In other words, if Tommy hit Billy while careless flailing his pudgy little infant arms, that area of Billy’s skin would ripple and form hard synthezoid skin which is stiff to the touch, like armor. Or if Tommy crawls around and bumps his head on something, the same would happen where he was hit. It’s almost as if it’s part of some kind of defense response in their bodies to armor-up if they’re being injured.
CARING FOR OLDER TWINS
Once they’re older and eating solid foods, their supplements are still mixed in once a day with whatever they’re eating. The older they get, the more the twins are able to control the transformation of their skin at will instead of it just being a passive physiological response. Billy takes after Wanda with regard to his powers, and Tommy resembles Pietro’s with his, but there are indications of Vision’s abilities in them as well. Billy is able to control his density to some extent, and Tommy’s eyes have extra lenses and extended irises that allow him to adjust his vision to better see in the dark, and while moving at high speeds. He can also see a much wider spectrum of light than humans can. Billy tends to take after Vision more in personality, being more introspective, gentler, and being a sponge for information. Tommy takes more after Wanda or even Pietro (which, Wanda would inherit a lot of genetics similar to Pietro’s with them being twins, so that makes sense), being more impulsive, a prankster, and quicker to anger.
In an AU without Vision present, as they grow and develop these abilities, they begin to ask Wanda a lot of questions about the things they can do and parts of them that aren’t like her. Wanda waits until they’re at an age to understand well enough before she tells them about their father. She’s able to find video footage of Vision to show them, and she explains as much as possible about who and what he was. Above all, she makes it very clear that he would have loved them both so much. Billy is very curious about Vision and will sit with a tablet and look up information about him all on his own. Tommy… is a bit more defensive and doesn’t like to think about Vision, because it makes him sad and angry that he had to grow up without a father. The twins are very close, however, and sometimes he watches things with Billy when they’re alone.
In an AU with Vision present, he can teach them about the synthezoidal aspects of their bodies and abilities himself. He is the proudest, happiest, most hands-on and involved dad ever. He explains what he can, shows what he can’t explain, and otherwise tries to guide his sons as best he can… in amongst loving on Wanda, of course. He becomes very much like Westview!Vision as far as personality, just happy and living the dream.
That’s all I’ve detailed for now, but if I think of more, I’ll add it here. Let me know your thoughts if you like! =)

Hi there everyone. This is my first tumblr post so I hope I leave a good first impression. Anyway, I’m a big fan of Geoff Johns’ Green Lantern comic book run and also a big fan of Elena of Avalor. Before I continue, fore those of you who don’t know, lantern corps that use lantern rings that are powered by different emotions. I’ve seen quite a few fan made pictures and essays throughout Google, Deviantart, and Tumblr about what lantern corps would be best suited for certain Disney characters like some of the Disney Princesses, Disney Princes, Jack Skellington, Stitch and the like but I’ve never seen one picture or essay of the lantern corps dedicated to characters from Elena of Avalor so I figured why not make one of my own for both myself and everyone else to enjoy. For now, I’ve decided to mainly focus on the characters of Princess Elena and her immediate family and friends because there’s just too many characters to go around. Also, for personal reasons, I’ve decided to look at their characters as they are before Coronation Day. This was also inspired by @lanternringsonallthethings Lantern Corps Phineas and Ferb post. Be sure to check out his tumble posts. With that out of the way, let’s move on to my lantern corps choices.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Princess Elena would belong to: The Red Lantern Corps of Rage. Elena has immense amounts of rage in her. She’s been driven by revenge ever since Shuriki killed her parents and inadvertently sealed her inside a mystical amulet. In Secret of Avalor, after she was freed, she tried killing Shuriki with her own wand and the spell she used to kill her parents. In the song of ‘The Right To Do’, she said she’ll never forgive Shuriki for what she’s taken from her clearly referring to her parents. Also, in The Magic Within, when she found out about her cousin Esteban’s previous betrayal she proposed and voted to have him spend the rest of his life in isolation on Soledad Island (Soledad literally translates to loneliness by the way) and any other sights of him filled her with immense rage. Side Note: I’m curious as to how the ring will affect her emotion magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Princess Isabel would be best suited for: The Blue Lantern Corps of Hope. Despite being traumatized by her parents’ deaths like her sister Elena, Isabel still finds hope in exploring and puts a lot of faith in science.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naomi Turner would be best suited for: The Green Lantern Corp of Willpower. Naomi has never been afraid to voice her own opinion in the Grand Council despite her lack of experience and is willing to follow through on her intuition even when everyone else is skeptical. This shows she has the ability to overcome great fear. That’s the exact trait a green lantern ring finds in a worthy user.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mateo’s love and passion for his friends and loved ones had allowed him to overcome his fear of failure and become a true royal wizard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As captain of the guard, Gabe has proven he has the will to bravely lead his men and march into for the sake of both Elena and Avalor.
Sorry to leave so abruptly but I’ve apparently reached the 10 image limit. You’ll see the rest in my second post. Since it’s my second ever you won’t miss it.

Celebration - part 2
Fandom: The Collector Character: Asa Emory/the collector Relationship: Asa/reader Request: can I put a request in for part 2 of the collector with smut at the cabin. Maybe a bit of domination on the collectors part?
Part 1
  The drive up was pretty uneventful, considering the cargo in the back of the car. You were very carful, always using your indicators and making sure you were keeping to the speed limit so that no one had reason to pull you over.  Asa had pulled on black gloves, covering his bandaged hands.
He was quiet the majority of the way up, his attention drifting between the roads and the window. You wondered what was going on within his mind, but decided that he probably wanted to keep his thoughts to himself for now.  Despite the silence, it was nice. and you made good time, arriving in the town near the cabin before nightfall. You stopped at a shop, grabbing some groceries for the cabin. Asa stayed in the car, but you knew him well enough to know what sort of items he stocks in his own kitchen. You also grabbed some nice wine.  The groceries went in the back seat and the journey continued. Asa guided you out the town, along a long country road which was surrounded by tall trees, the sunset only just poking through the branches.  A few turns and up a dirt road, you couldn’t help but hold your breath as you saw a cabin at the end of the road.  In the sunset, it looked like paradise. Small, but quaint.  Pulling up, Asa was the first out, stretching his legs. You grabbed the groceries and followed Asa as he walked up to the large wooden door. Asa pulled out his keys and unlocked it.  The front door led into a living room, with two couches and fire place. A radio sat on a unit in the corner, with a bookshelf beside it lined with shabby looking books.  you felt Asa pushing you gently, encouraging you to step inside.  "Its not much -" Asa was about to give excuses, apparently expecting you to think it was bad.  "Its perfect." you interrupted before he could finish as you entered. "It must be so peaceful out here. Could we go for a walk in the morning?" You place the bag on the ground to look out the window at the surrounding forest.  Asa paused, taken back by your excitement. In truth, he was deeply burdened with thoughts of doubt. His father, if he saw this cabin, would roll his eyes at Asa, making snide remarks.  And yet, you were so excited and happy to be here, as if it were better than any luxury vacation.  Asa was pulled back to reality when you appeared in front of him, worry in your eyes.  "Asa? You okay?" you reach out, placing a hand on his chest. His eyes were glazed over, deep in thought, before focusing on you.
"Sorry, my dear. A walk sounds perfect, weather permitted." he watched your face light up with his reply. He found himself surprised as the term of endearment left his lips so easily. And how much it seemed to mean to you when he did. Asa didn’t consider himself an affectionate person in any sense of the term. He was cold and distant, proved by the lack of any kind of relationship before you (and the whole killing thing). And yet, you were so warm and affectionate that he though it was some kind of an act to begin with. But now he finds that he returns it. Not with the same amount of affection or bubbliness you do, but in his own way.
Pulling in all the bags, you knew it would take both of you to move the trunk and you really wanted to save Asa's hands as much as possible. The cargo seemed to have lost all his energy, until you pulled him out the back of the boot, dropping the box on the floor. You both carried it inside the house.
"Where do we put him?" You asked, trying not to let the stain be too obvious in your voice. Asa just chuckled, showing no weakness with the heavy load.  "Down in the basement." He nodded to a door under the stairs.  Placing the box on the floor, you walked over, noting the dead lock on the door. Looking back to asa, you saw he held out a key to you. Grabbing it, you unlocked the door and used your bag to keep the door from swinging shut. Inside, you found a light switch just before a set of wooden stairs that lead down into more darkness. The light switch only seemed to be for the stairs, because when you flicked it, only 2 lights came on above the stairs.  You decided you’d rather go down with Asa than go exploring down there on your own.  Picking up your side of the box, Asa went down the stairs backwards while you followed. "Carful." the word slipped past your lips before you could stop them. Asa smirked, shaking his head at your worry. The basement was rather ordinary. a large wooden table sat in the centre, with shelves on opposite walls with tool scattered on them. You didn't know what you had been expecting, but this was his holiday home, so you understood that he wouldn't want to invest too much here in case someone broke in. “Where?” You asked, nodding to the box that kept moving.
“In there.” Asa nodded to a corner. Following his indication, you saw a wire cage, only about big enough for the box you were carrying. The top was open already, so it was a case of just lifting and dropping in the box with Arkin in. Asa pulled the top down, using a padlock to secure it tightly. Arkin wouldn’t be able to open the lid of the red box to get out. And even if he did, he would then have to get out of the metal cage. Yet you wanted to make sure. “You got anymore padlocks?” You asked, and he pointed to the shelves. You saw 3 sitting with keys in them on the bottom shelf. grabbing them, you quickly added another lock to the box then one to the outside just for safe measure. Asa smirked as he guided you out of the basement. You cooked a meal with Asa’s help which consisted of him adding wine to everything before you sat down for a lovely candle lit dinner in the kitchen. The rest of the evening was spent mulling between the porch with a glass of wine and the living room with the fire going. When you both eventually stumbled up stairs, you had had too much wine as had Asa. Although he would have never admitted it. You both fell asleep as soon as your heads hit the soft pillows.
----------the next day ----------------
 Walking down the stairs, your knees nearly went weak when you saw him. Asa had dawned his mask, pulling on his leather gloves. Arkin already knew his identity, so there was no point hiding it any more, but you had a feeling that it was more phycological than that. There was something about him like this that drove you mad. You could never put your finger on why this mask had such an effect on you. After breakfast and a morning stroll, Asa had nodded to the basement. You slipped upstairs to change into some clothes you didn’t mind getting dirty, but Asa was already ready, only having to put on his mask and gloves. Biting your lower lip, you tried to keep your mind straight as you came to the bottom of the stairs. Asa glanced to you before offering you another pair of gloves. Taking them, you paused. It wasn’t that Asa kept you and his collector persona apart, but you barley ever got close enough to him in his mask. And you wanted to take advantage of the opportunity. Placing the gloves on a side table, you closed the distance between you and Asa.
He had been preoccupied with pulling his glove on. He barely managed a ‘what’ as you wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him. Stunned, Asa stood there for a moment before melting in the kiss with a groan.  Perhaps it was because of what was planned, or maybe because you had kissed him with the mask on, but Asa felt a rush of lust for you.
The rough material of the black mask was cold and scratched at your skin, yet you had to press against it to get to his lips. Asa growled into the kiss as his persona seemed to take over. he grabbed your wrists and you were slammed against the wall, your hands pinned above your head. Sure, Asa was more dominate, but this was different. He controlled the kiss, leaving you whimpering against his lips as he ground against you. You didn’t fight him, allowing him to keep you under his control. He moved your wrists together so he could use one hand to hold them in place while his other slipped down your arm to your shoulder and then your neck. You whole body trembled at the touch, moaning as his large hand gripped the side of your neck but not putting enough pressure to restrict air flow. He pulled away and you were panting a little from the kiss. Asa loved the sight. Your cheeks red, lips wet and your eyes begging him for more. Oh, if only he had known about this sooner. A smirk pulled at his lips, ideas flooding his head as he saw your tongue dark out to lick your lips. “We have work to do.” Asa’s voice was barely above a whisper as he leaned into your ear, his breath sending chills down your spin. You whined, squirming for the first time and earning a chuckle. “Be a good… assistant, and we can continue this later.” His voice sent chills down your spin as you nodded and his hand fell away from your throat. You followed him down to the basement, but your mind never truly left that kiss.
 ------------time skip -------------
 To say you were a good assistant would be an understatement. Asa loved how you followed him round, eager to learn and even more to please. He complimented your knife skills, but made sure to show you how to really do it. Within 2 hours, the task was done. Arkin was dead, his body now in various pieces which could be scattered around the woods before you left tomorrow. Asa assured you that the bears and wolfs would make short work of the parts, and they were too small for hunters to think they were more than animal scraps. Yet Asa found himself more excited for the aftermath of the kill rather than enjoying himself fully. He went into he basement hard from your make out session, and every time he thought he was managed to push away that lust, you would look at him for approval and bite your lower lip, or rub your ass against his groin as he stood behind you to show you what to do. The only thing that kept him sane was that you were suffering too. And he loved it. As you pulled off your gloves and the apron you wore, discarding them on work bench for now before turning to Asa expectantly. “Go upstairs and strip.” He ordered, and you shot up the stairs. Asa only remained to toss your gloves and apron in a bag before he followed you. It took all his restraint not to jog up the stairs, instead ascending them quietly. His heart was racing and his hands shaking slightly. He had always thought nothing could compare to the thrill of the chase and the kill, yet you now rivalled that more and more each day. He paused outside the room for a moment, before entering. It was dark outside, and you had put on the side light in the bedroom which was something Asa was thankful for. He didn’t want to do this in the light of the moon. No, he wanted to see everything. You were pulling off your top, leaving you in your underwear as he enters. “I told you to strip.” Asa stalked up to you, and you quickly understood why someone would find him intimidating in his Collector outfit. Instead, it set a rush of lust through your veins. “I am.” You winked as you unclasped your bra and threw it to the side before pulling off your underwear. “what you going to do? punish me for being too slow?” You saw Asa’s eye twitch as the smirk pulled at his lips. He didn’t say anything as he bent you over the bed, you ass in the air. He didn’t have to. The leather of his glove collided with your cheek, earning a loud gasp from your lips. “One.” You said, not even thinking as you bit down on your lip. A chuckle from Asa seemed to confirm you had done the right thing before another slap left your ass stinging. “two.” Again, you counted for him, never flinching. He carried on, going up to 20 before he seemed satisfied with the redness of your skin. His hand rubbed the sensitive skin, making it sting a little more with the contact before slipping between your legs. The texture was new as he rubbed at your entrance before slipping inside you easily. Another chuckle before Asa’s lips as he pulled his gloved finger out completely to see it covered in your wetness. “Oh, there is so much I want to do to you.” He leaned down to whisper in your ear. “But, for now, lets start with the basics.” “Please.” You mewled, unsure what you were begging for. “Hands.” He pulled back and demanded. He pressed one of his hands on your neck and pushed your head down onto the bed. understanding, you moved your hands from supporting you on the bed to behind your back. The moment they were together, you felt rope being tied round them. He didn’t bind you tightly, despite the fact you knew he could if he wanted. In fact, you suspected you could slip your hands out of the restraints in you needed to. But that wasn’t the point of this. He wanted your obedient willingly. You were then pulled back from the bed by your hair.
“On your knees.” He accompanied this command with another tug of your hair downwards. Asa stepped in front of you and sat on the edge of the bed as you knelt in front of him. Your eyes fell to his crotch. You could see how hard he was and as he undid his trousers to free himself, you couldn’t help but crawl a little closer. He smirked, happy with your eagerness. You didn’t need to be told what he wanted. Asa leaned back, both his hands on the bed. If you had had your hands, you would have probably teased him a little bit, but you didn’t. Leaning forward, you licked up the shaft of his cock, before taking the tip in your mouth and sucking.  His gloved hands entwined with your hair, forcing you to take more in your mouth. But you quickly set a steady pace for him, moaning around his cock as you looked up with him. Asa mouth parts, taking shuddering breaths as he looks down at you. Willingly bound, naked, looking up at him with his cock was in your mouth and his hand in your hair. It was far more than Asa thought he deserved, yet he wouldn’t run from this chance. He was lucky enough to have you willing to share a bed with him normally. This added aspect set his blood racing. As you moaned around his cock, he found himself getting far to lost in the moment that for a second, he feared he might finish before the main event. his grip in your hair tightened and then pulled you off him. you gasped for air, the spit dripping down your chin as you looked up at him. He wished he could keep a picture of that moment. “Stand up.” He commanded, and you obliged immediately, managing to get to your feet with your arms bound without much issues. he puts his feet between your own, knocking both your feet in a silent command to spread them further apart. When you do so, he stands. His gloved hand trails up your inner thigh as he does so. You found yourself letting out a whine as he paused only an inch from your entrance. You look at him, seeing his dark eyes dancing with amusement and lust as he finally closes the distance. after a few rubs of the slit, he pushed a finger into you with ease as you buckle down a little and a moan leaves your lips. He adds another finger, curling them inside you in the most pleasurable way that make you nearly collapse from it. Because of this gloves, his fingers felt so much more thicker, yet were cold. This was certainly something you never thought you would enjoy as much as you were. Asa retracted his fingers and you whines, looking at him with a pout. His eyes bore into your own, his gaze more intense than you had ever seen before. He lifted his finger to your mouth, and you immediately parted your lips so he could put them inside. You tasted yourself on the gloves, licking the material while keeping eye contact with Asa. When he pulls his fingers out, his hand slides down
“Bend over.” His command was sharp as he disappeared behind you. “Again?” You smirked glancing back at him. the cold slap to your already red skin made you jump and move to bend over the bed again. Asa wanted to play with you so much more, but he was finding the lust too much to cope with right now. Oh, but he had such plans for you. As he took his position behind you, he thought of all the toys he could buy. Canes, vibrators, belt, perhaps even pegs. There was no need to buy restraints. He had that area pretty well covered. Although as he looked at the rope on your wrists, he saw they were growing red. Maybe satin, or ribbon would do a better job. Besides, you were willingly allowing him this freedom over your body. The mere idea of having you as his sub made his cock ache with need, and he wasn’t in the mood to tease any longer. It was hard enough while down in the basement after that kiss. Asa places a hand on your lower back as his other guides his cock to your slit. He rubbed your entrance, coating the tip of his member in your juice before pushing inside with ease. As he buried himself fully inside you, you let out a broken moan. He loved it. the growl that escaped his own lips was unexpected. Asa always tried to keep quiet, fearing any noises he made were a sign of weakness. But when you moaned in response buckling back on him, he found it harder and harder to control. He set a quick pace, his hips snapping against your own as you buried your face in the bed to hopes of stifling your moans.
A hand locked in your hair and your head was pulled back so your back arched. Letting a yelp which quickly turned into more moans. You understood. He always did try to make you moan, something with normally involved him finding a different angle or snapping his hips harder. Ones he seemed satisfied that you got the message, his hand left your hair. Glancing back, you saw his gaze was on where you were both joined. His mouth was hanging open and his hands were on your hips. He was still in his clothes. The black mask, leather gloves, the black sweater and trousers. You loved it. you felt the knot in your stomach tightening with each thrust, your orgasm approaching like a train. You couldn’t think of anything else other than the man behind you and the pleasure he was giving you. the rope dug into your skin, the cold air causing the skin on your rear to burn and the fingers digging into your side only seemed to heighten the pleasure you felt as you struggled to take breath from moans.
“Please!” You moan, throwing your head back as you feel your climax building and building. “What?” Asa pants, slapping your ass when you didn’t reply immediately. “Please let me cum, sir.” You moaned, unable to stop the lewd words leaving your lips as you found yourself a slave to the pleasure he was giving you. “Now!” He growled through his teeth. It was the last command you needed to send you off the edge in a whirlwind of pleasure. Your eyes went blury for a moment as you felt your body shake with the pleasure that shot through your veins like fire. You moaned his name as Asa’s hands gripped your hips so hard you were sure he would leave bruises. He was unable to delay his own orgasm as he spilled himself inside you. Your body was almost numb to any other feeling that your own pleasure. And the first thing you did feel was the binds around your wrist fall away and Asa pulled out of you. It took you a moment to move because you were unsure if your arms would hold you up yet. Asa only had to tuck himself away and he was done, yet you need a few moments to pull yourself together. But when you did, you turned to Asa and found him staring at you. He looked unsure of your next move, like he was preparing for you to strike him or belittle him. You smiled, wrapping your arms around his shoulder so you could undo his mask. As you pulled it away, you kissed his lips and pulled back. Asa let out a shuddering breath as he hunched into himself for a moment before wrapping his arms around you kissing you deeply. When he pulled back, you saw whatever doubt in his mind had been banished as he composed himself and pulled off his gloves. You put out your hand for them and he lays them on your palm for you to put over on the table. “Thank you, sir.” You wink, seeing that spark of mischief you loved so much in his eyes return. You grabbed a nightgown and went to the bathroom to clean up. Asa seemed to prefer to be left alone for a moment after sex, mainly so he could change. When you came back into the room, he had pulled on some pj bottoms and a top, never sleeping nude even in the summer heat. He had pulled back the sheet of the bed, but waited for you to get in first. You crawled into bed and Asa joins you. Instantly you cuddle into his chest as he lies back. You couldn’t explain how right it felt to be in his arms like this. Or how it seemed you both just slotted into each others lives. But the words that flooded your brain were not ones you wanted to hide right now. “I love you, Asa.” You smile, running your hand up his chest. “i- uh-“ Asa splutters over his word, making you sit up on your arm. “Asa-“ You cut him off. “I told you because its how I feel. Its okay if you don’t feel the same way or cant say it now.” You smile as he relaxes, and you put your head on his chest. His fingers come up to intertwine with your hair and massage your scalp in a soothing way. “I do. you know that, right?” He speaks just above a whisper, as if scared someone might hear. “I know.” You smile and glance up at him. Leaning up, you kiss him quickly before leaning across him to turn off the side light and cuddle down for your last night in the cabin.
 ------------time skip ----------------
  When you awoke in the early hours of the morning, everything was sore. but not painful. It felt like when you sleep long and deeply and your whole body ache when you first move.  Rolling to your side, you find the bed empty which wasn't surprising. Asa was an early riser, and allowed you to sleep while he got up. Some part of you wondered if he was scared. Would he feel too vulnerable to have you wake by his side? Too domesticated?  You sat up, stretching your body before attempting to get up. You were pretty sure your legs would give in if you just rolled out of bed.
It could only be about 6 or 7am, judging by the rising sun through the trees.
Reaching to Asa's side of the bed, the covers were still slightly warm, so you weren't far behind him.
Swinging your legs out of the bed, you slipped on your slippers. As you stood, you felt a small ache in your hips, but it was gone as you stood straight and stretched your back properly. Pulling on a cardigan, you shuffle to the door.
Descending the stairs, you felt a small breeze pass through the cabin. Your eyes immediately found the front door open slightly, and you could see Asa was sitting on the porch stairs.  You paused, before leaving him and creeping to the kitchen.  Boiling the kettle, you poured him a black coffee and your own drink before taking both mugs back to the door.  Asa hadn’t heard you until you used your foot to open the door fully so you could step out.
If Arkin had still be around, he probably would have been more defensive, but he was more relaxed as he glances at you. You smile and offer him the cup, which he takes with a nod. As he turns back, you sit beside him, sipping your drink.
Despite the calm atmosphere, the woods were bursting with life. A breeze ran through the trees, ruffling the leaves and swaying small branches. Birds sang from high in the trees. It really was lovely to just sit and watch.
leaning against Asa's arm, you rested your head on his shoulder. you felt Asa glance to you, his gaze lingering for a moment before turning back and taking a sip of his coffee.  For a while, you both stayed like this, simply enjoying the morning air. Asa was deep in thought, and you didn't press him.  the cups were empty beside you, and you were beginning to think you should go get ready for the day. it was Sunday, so you would be going home today. As you planned how to pack things, Asa cleared his throat.  "I want to rebuilt my collection." He said with conviction, a definite decision he had made. But you found it strange that he said this, because you had always assumed he would rebuild it.  "Okay. If you need anything, let me know." You smiled, sitting up straight. Asa stared at the forest for a moment. he seemed so intense, as if battling an inner demon. then, in the space of a second, his eyes softened, his jaw was less tense and his forehead was no longer furrowed
"I want you to join me." He spoke with a foreign softness in his voice. it was almost as if a realisation had washed over him. "i want to rebuild my collection with you."  His words were not lost on you, nor was the importance.  Did he truly trust you enough to want you to be apart of the collectors world? sure, he had shown you things and you had helped with Arkin. but Arkin was a danger who had to be dealt with right away, and Asa didn’t have the dexterity in his hands.  Asa refused to look at you, and you saw a glimpse at the scared man who was now terrified you would reject him.
There was more to his request. this wasn't just about helping him rebuild his collection, this was almost like a proposal. because if you started helping him, there was no backing out. You would be bound to each other by the blood of victims.  But you could think of nothing better. You leaned across and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
"I'd love to." You smile as he look at you. a smile pulls at his lips. not a smirk, but an actual smile.

Chapter Fifty-Two: Folly
Notes: I do so love these talking chapters. That’s where the character development happens. But this shall be one of the last ones. There is a lot of action that has to happen soon. No time for words! ACTION!
(-~-)
After spending an entire morning at Morgan’s graduation ceremony, they had come to the unanimous conclusion that such events were extraordinarily dull and that they should have listened to the young woman when she had initially opted not to attend. The sheer amount of pomp and custom had been enough to render even Vergil’s more formal sensibilities raw and unwilling to linger much longer. But they had been forced to stay to the very end as Morgan had apparently been one of the top students. They had to allow her the time to speak, and she had used it to politely but ruthlessly denounce the school’s stagnation before exiting the stage, all of the faculty aside from one teacher seemingly shocked by her words.
By the time they had exited the building, everyone had been thoroughly exhausted. They had opted to travel via public avenues as a means of cloaking themselves, and as such, had spent nearly three hours simply trying to reach their destination. It had been a no-brainer when Vergil had simply opened a portal and silently pleaded with them to just take the direct route back. It was more difficult for any unwanted observers to track, at the very least. As as soon as they had arrived back at V’s doorstep, everyone had practically collapsed on the floor in the entryway. It was barely noon, but they were all sure that they were done with the day.
“Well, that was the most painful four hours of my life,” Nero said, slumping over on the stairs. “I used to think that going to all of those damn sermons that the order wanted us to go to was torture, but that? I think I’d rather Vergil cut my arm off again.”
Morgan stared at Nero in silence for a moment as she looked him up and down, realizing that he either had a very realistic prosthetic, or that his arm wasn’t missing. But she had heard him say the word “again” hadn’t she? He stared back at her before a mischievous smile spread across his face and he held up his right arm. Sure enough, it seemed to momentarily disappear, leaving nothing but a deflated sleeve before reappearing. He wiggled his fingers for emphasis.
No. She refused to ask about this one. It was just too early in the morning for that.
“To be fair, I never said that attending would be enjoyable. I said it would be satisfyingly petty. Was I incorrect?” V said tiredly as he entered the house behind them. He was already working his way out of his coat, ready to sit down and make a warm cup of tea. Lucia had chosen to stay behind with Flora to keep an eye on things. Perhaps he could track her down and ask her if she’d like a cup? Yes, that was a good plan. He was too tired to be self-conscious. He was staying in this house until they had a plan.
“Fair enough. You’ve got a point.” Nero sighed, sitting on the stairs to unlace his boots. They were covered with snow and slush. No one who wanted to live would be stupid enough to head past the foyer in such a condition. There was just no point.
“So… why’d ya have to sneak into your sister’s graduation? Didn’t you used to go to that school?” Dante asked casually as he tossed his coat on the hanger that V kept in the entryway. The boots came off easily enough. He would make quick work of those. No need to even sit down.
“Because I punched one of the teachers in the face right after I walked off of the stage with my diploma and then they banned me from the school grounds and all related properties.” Bren shrugged, unperturbed. “I’d do it again in a second. I regret nothing.”
“You punched a teacher in the face? At your own graduation ceremony?” Vergil asked, unsure as to whether or not he’d heard that statement correctly. Surely he had been mistaken. He couldn’t think of a single reason why someone would want to do something like that. Mentors could be ruthless, that much was true. But what possessed him to do something so extreme? He couldn’t say that it was his business, but he was admittedly intrigued.
“Oh yea, I punched him. Cold cocked him, actually. And I’d do it again.” Bren hung up his coat, offering to take the remaining coats and put them up for everyone else. “He was a total creep. Used to sneak peeks into both locker rooms when everyone was getting ready for practice. I’m glad that’s all he did. From what we know. He’s upstate now doing ten years. Got caught taking bribes for the sports team. Hope he rots in there.”
Vergil paused before nodding. He could get behind that easily enough. “Fair enough.”
Dante laughed and shook his head. It seemed that there was at least one thing that they agreed on. Although to be fair, the younger of the two had the feeling that Vergil would have done more than punch the teacher in the face. It was lucky for that creep that he had not made that kind of mistake in his brother’s vicinity. How unfortunate. He would have loved to see him get what he had coming. “I get the feeling that he got off pretty easy. Vergil would have probably impaled him.”
“No. They would have found him lying chest down looking up at the sky if I had been one of the parents of those unfortunate students. I dare not sully Yamato’s blade with such lowly blood.” Vergil then stopped curtly and headed into the living room, ready to sit down and not have to be around a stadium full of people again. Or anyone for several hours for that matter. His social battery had been taxed to its absolute limit recently. But there had been no way that he would have allowed both of his sons and the Linquist siblings to go that far away without an escort. He couldn’t stop them, so he decided to tail them and keep an eye out for anything mysterious. Thankfully things had gone off without a hitch. Another good reason to come back the way that they had.
It took everyone present a solid few seconds to register the implications of how that would be physically possible. And once they did, each of them shuddered slightly, the mental image alone gruesome enough to cause them pause. But after a moment they resumed hanging their coats and taking off their shoes, seeing no compelling reason to dwell on it any longer. Strangely enough, none of them could say that they disagreed with his proposed methodology. As long as they didn’t have to do it, then they could totally live with it.
“Sorry, I’m still getting used to the fact that you can do… What do you call it? And how did you do that? What’s a Yamato?” Morgan was clearly confused. She felt like he’d been dropped feet first into the tenth season of a complex show with lore she couldn’t hope to understand. The waters were deep and she was floundering.
Vergil produced the blade from seemingly nowhere, holding it out slightly so that she could have a better look at it. But he dared not let her touch it. “This is Yamato. A demonic blade passed down to me by my father, the Dark Knight Sparda. It has the ability to cut through anything, down to and including the fabric of reality itself, allowing me to open tears in space-time like the one we just passed through to get here. It would have made short work of that teacher.”
“Can I play with it?” She seemed impressed, barely resisting the urge to reach for it.
“Absolutely not.” He stared at her, unable to believe that she’d actually just asked him that.
“Damn.” In truth, she’d known the answer long before she’d asked. But that didn’t stop her from hoping that it wouldn’t be the case. “Wait, your father is the Dark Knight Sparda? Like the guy everybody talks about in all those myths and legends and stuff? He’s real?”
Dante nodded. No use in hiding things. She was going to need to be up to speed as soon as possible. They didn’t benefit from hiding things like this from her. At this point, the fact that most of them were at least part demon was just cursory information. They had no reason to lie to her. “Yea.”
She paused, seemingly considering something. The sudden widening that her pupils underwent indicated that much to anyone looking in her general direction. “Wait… He’s a demon, right? So you guys are, what? At least part demon? All of you?”
Both Dante and Vergil looked at one another before nodding, followed by Nero a moment later. V simply stared at her blankly, shrugging. He didn’t really need to say it at that point, did he? If his uncle, father, and brother were all at least part demon, then it went without saying that he was as well. That was simply how genetics worked.
“That’s so metal, man.” She nodded to herself, clearly unconcerned and genuinely impressed. It seemed that she was unphased by the sudden realization that she was in a room occupied by only one other pure human seemingly not concerning her in the slightest. But considering the things that she and V had been through together, it shouldn’t have been that surprising that she was unphased by their somewhat supernatural status.
Nero laughed to himself. She was pretty funny, and it seemed as though she was impervious to fear. He had the feeling that whenever she and Nico finally met that they would be the death of him. Maybe she could teach the plucky mechanic to drive like a sane person instead of a violently unstable maniac with a death wish.
“Guess that explains a little bit more about how everything went totally out of control in Redgrave City so fast. I’m not going to pretend to know why everything that happened, well, happened, and I honestly don’t want to even know because nothing would be a good enough answer, but at least I get how it all went down a little better now. Demons.”
Vergil stopped dead in his tracks. Had that been why she’d been staring at him like that back at Magnolia’s house? She knew about that?! How was that even-
“Look…” She sighed, realizing that what she was about to say was going to make very little sense to anyone other than herself. “My brother talked to me on the phone about it before he came to talk to you guys. He said that the cult he’d been in had kidnapped the son of the person who had been responsible for the attack, but that the person had decided to let him live because he’d helped them find him. I told him that he should still come talk to you because he shouldn’t have been a part of something like that, even if he thought they might be doing bad things for a good reason. He was contributing to that same evil, you know? I’m not gonna pretend I understand what either of you did or why, but I’m choosing to just let that go because it’s all that I can do. And because you spared my brother’s life when he was doing something almost as stupid himself. What other choice do I have?”
He stared at her quietly, everyone in the room going quiet in an effort to not interrupt. None of them could pinpoint why, but this had far more weight to it than they wanted to acknowledge. The tension in the room was incredibly heavy despite the fact that the Darkslayer had “You could choose to hate me. You could seek revenge against me And you would be right to do so. I’d have no right to stop you.”
“Yea, you're right. I could.” She shrugged. “But hating you is the easy choice. And I wasn’t raised to take the path of least resistance. That’s why I’m still here. So I’m going to choose to do the hardest thing I’ve ever done and just let it go. They aren’t coming back either way. But I’m still here and I have to keep going even if I don’t know where I’m headed. Even if it might be worse than where I already am or just as bad. Because there is a chance that where I’m going might be better. Your son taught me that much.”
V started before turning away to face the fireplace. He went to light it again, seeking anything that he could do to escape the gravity of this situation. He wasn’t sure what he felt about any of this. It was just so very much. What he wouldn’t have done to turn back the clock and do… something. Anything to spare them all this suffering. But he couldn’t. It was like she’d said. He had to keep moving forward. And although she claimed he’d shown her that, he wasn’t sure he’d learned that himself until long after he’d met her.
Could you teach someone a lesson that you yourself had yet to learn?
Just as she was about to continue, there was a knock at the door. Everyone turned in the direction of the door, subconsciously readying themselves for yet another attack. For all they knew their enemy had finally found them. Hopefully, Flora knew a spell that could reverse the damage. Dante sighed and stepped towards the door, unlocking it and then opening it. And then he scoffed, chuckling under his breath.
“Well, I’ll be. Haven’t seen you in a few weeks! Where did you disappear to?”
“I must say, it is a pleasure to see you again, Dante. May I come in? My sincerest apologies. I had to step away and attend to a few affairs back at the office. I hope nothing major has occurred in my absence.” To the collective surprise of everyone, it was Sirrus. He shrugged out of his coat and hung it on the rack, heading towards the living room as he greeted everyone in turn. Upon catching sight of Vergil, he stopped, a curious look crossing his face as he drew a few feet closer to the Darkslayer who was sitting down on the couch away from the rest of the group. He seemed to be reflecting. “And I see that Vergil has indeed returned! Glad to see it. When last I’d spoken to Magnolia, she had informed me of your extended absence. And she seemed quite forlorn. I fear she believed that you would never return. Thank you for silencing her disbelief.”
“A whole train station blew up and it’s all over the news. Also, V’s curse is worse and there’s an uber-powerful summoner in town using infernal magic.” Flora said dryly as she came down the stairs and made her way into the kitchen. Why was she not surprised to see Sirrus in town again? He’d been around quite a bit recently. The red-haired man stared at her unblinking as she left the room before allowing his hand to travel slowly up to his face as he turned in the direction of the rest of the crew. She shook his head slowly, disbelief evident.
“... Why is it that every time I turn my back on the lot of you that you stick your fingers in the light socket like unruly toddlers?”
Each of the descendants of the Dark Knight Sparda blinked blankly. They couldn’t answer that particular question in any meaningful way, unfortunately.
“I wanted to thank you for your extravagant housewarming gift. In-person. And I noticed the distinct lack of a gift receipt in the event that I could not bear it upon my conscience to receive it.” V didn’t have an answer to this newfound guest’s mostly sarcastic question, but he did have gratitude. He was admittedly thankful for the gift and for Sirrus’s sudden return. The change in mode and subject matter was a welcome one. The reality of what they faced hadn’t changed, but any distraction from the suffering that surrounded them was appreciated. And to be fair, V actually did enjoy being around him.
Sirrus paled before turning away to hide his slight blush. In this cold weather, it was hard to discern what was flushed skin and what was simply a negative reaction to the intimate weather.  “Think nothing of it. It was the least I could do given the circumstances. You saved my life, and this house is far too stately to lay empty, and you did save my life. Too many treasured memories have been formed within its walls to allow it to languish. And I felt a strong desire to ensure that you were… comfortable. You have enough to worry about.”
An awkward silence fell over them for a moment as Morgan looked at V and then at Sirrus before looking at both of them again. She then shook her head and headed over towards the couch. She was going to have to ask V how he’d managed to afford a house like this. Their trauma payments from that charity group after the attack hadn’t been this big. A house like this had to cost a small fortune, especially in this city and especially in this neighborhood. He was probably the youngest homeowner in the entire area!
“If you’d excuse me for a moment, I bought groceries.” He waited for V to nod in agreement before heading towards the kitchen in the back of the building. He paused in front of Morgan, nodding politely before heading towards his destination again. Everyone returned to the task of making themselves comfortable, realizing that they had all gone on alert the moment that they’d seen Sirrus arrive. This situation with Belial had them on edge. They couldn’t wait to be rid of him. Perhaps Sirrus could add something useful to their almost nonexistent plans?
Morgan scooted over so that V could sit next to her, looking the young summoner up and down as she shook her head slowly from side to side. He gave her a sympathetic look that quickly migrated to confusion as he realized that she was only doing this in jest. He was missing a joke here, wasn’t he? Why did the humor of others so often fly right over his head? “Am I missing something?”
“Oh, you’re missing a lot of things, bub.” V mentally chastised Griffon, silently hoping that Morgan couldn’t look at him and tell that he had been momentarily annoyed but his avian companion. He had yet to mention the fact that he possessed a demonic panther and a talking bird with a severe death wish. Although he had the feeling that she wouldn’t really mind. “Not right now, please.”
She pointed towards the kitchen, a smirk crossing her face. She then folded her arms, leaning over so that she could whisper in V’s ear. “So you haven’t noticed that he… You know what? Nevermind. I’ll let you figure it out. It shouldn’t be that hard if I’ve only been around him for like 30 seconds and I already caught onto it.”
A moment later Sirrus called from the kitchen stating that he’d brought everyone tea. Flora sighed in relief. Finally, something that made sense around here. “Wonderful. Spectacular. Finally, some good damn tea.”

I hope you liked this chapter! Now, on to the next one! I’m excited for next week. I have something devious planned! Oh, it feels great to be back! Take care of yourselves out there and I will see you in the comment section! TGIF!

[Good Omens] Winging It - Jeremiah 17:9
Summary: Shockingly, attempting to destroy an angel without consulting God first comes with consequences. There is more than one way to fall, and a thousand more ways to inconvenience an angel and a demon who just wanted to be left in peace. Characters: Gabriel, Crowley, Aziraphale, Beelzebub, Michael, Uriel, Sandalphon Rating: T
Prologue and all chapters are tagged as ‘winging it on my blog.
A/N: No vintage pornography was mistreated in the making of this chapter.
(A scene was partly based on and amazing comic by @hyunlou, because I loved it so much I could no longer picture the scene going any other way,and also @lunaescribe on my birthday with art - check the fic tag to see both!)

“... Is that what they asked you? If you had carnal desires? Were those their exact words?”
“Yes,” Gabriel said, and shifted a little when Łukasz let out a groan, rubbing his temples.
“Why do they speak like they came out of some shitty BBC period drama?” Fabrizio asked, only for Łukasz to entirely ignore him and look back at Gabriel.
“And you said no.”
“I said I don’t think I do-- I am not sure-- and then they left before I could suggest we go out for the evening, and I have no idea why. But they did take the mugs, so--”
“Jesus Christ, mate, they were making a pass at you!”
Gabriel blinked. “... They were making a what?”
Fabrizio cleared his throat before speaking in the fakest, poshest British accent imaginable. “I think what my esteemed colleague is trying to say is that this… what’s their name again?”
“Beel-- Bill.”
“Right. This Bill was trying to politely gauge whether or not you may, perchance, be entertaining the thought of shagging.”
“Shagging?” Gabriel repeated. He was familiar with the term, of course - working in warehouse near the docks had taught him a vast array of terms all generally referring to the same things - but he had no idea why Beelzebub would be asking if he entertained the thought of--
“Shagging them, specifically.”
Gabriel stared. He opened his mouth, gaped a little more, then blinked. “They-- were?” he asked, sounding every inch as bewildered as he felt. The notion was so alien to him, it was hard to wrap his mind around it… and yet, now that it had been clearly spelled out for him, Gabriel felt a sudden desire to reach back into the space-time continuum and smack himself in the back of the head. Unable to do that due to his current limitations as a mortal, he just blinked again. “But... why?”
Forehead firmly pressed on the table, Łukasz snickered. “That’s an excellent question,” he said. “I’m starting to suspect your friend is a rabid moronsexual.”
“A what?”
That caused Fabrizio to burst laughing so suddenly and violently that Gabriel was left with little doubt that he was supposed to feel insulted by the remark. However, he was too baffled to.
“That was never-- it never came up,” he protested.
“Hah! Well, it did now. They brought it up. So, are you?”
Gabriel opened his mouth.
“... Before you go ‘am I what’, allow me to make myself clear. Are you interested in the offer?”
Ah. “I’m… not certain it was an offer, I ought not assume--”
“Let’s say it was. Are you?”
Gabriel hesitated, and this time they didn’t press him for an answer. Which was good, because he honestly did not have one yet; there had been something when he’d held the Prince of Hell in his arms, something that had made him wish he didn’t have to put them down… but the notion of carnal desires was so foreign to him, he had no idea what that would even feel like.
In the end, he sighed. “... I’ll need to do research,” he finally said.
If Łukasz and Fabrizio found it an odd response, which they probably did, they said nothing of it.
“All right. But, my friend, let me tell you something. Whether you want to shag them or not, you’re so smitten it’s not even funny,” Fabrizio said. Gabriel didn’t even try to argue he was not.
Lying is, after all, a sin.
***
Indulging in carnal  pleasures was, quite obviously, not the immediate ticket to the lowest circles of Hell that many mortals seemed to believe it was.
It was in some cases, of course, whenever someone forced their own lust on somebody who was anything but a willing participant; those souls had a circle of their own, which was rather cramped as well as boasting a frankly astounding amount of Catholic priests.
A good number of them may have been tempted by demons, though Beelzebub suspected it was a minority, but even in those cases all the forces of Hell had really done was put some rather non-specific lust in their heart; how they let it grow and then acted upon it was entirely their choice.
It was not a circle of Hell Beelzebub had ever had much to do with, as lust did not precisely fall under their expertise, and therefore they did not know the minute details of what was the exact line between simple carnal pleasure and sinful lust. However, they felt reasonably certain in the assumption that carnal relations with a Prince of Hell would, at the very least, be a prominent enough sin to tilt the balance of the scale towards Hell.
And I may be more successful in doing that than I was trying to convince him to push an old lady under the bus.
Just maybe. There were demons who made seduction their weapon of choice when it came to gaining influence over mortals, but Beelzebub was not among them. Plus, when asked if he did have carnal desires, Gabriel had said he didn’t think he did.
But he hadn’t said no, either, which had been his immediate reply whenever they had tried to talk him into any kind of serious sin, and therefore Beelzebub concluded it would be foolish not to make at least an attempt. So they would - but first, they needed to do some research over what carnal relations precisely entailed other than just choosing one out of two models of genitalia and make them fit with the other’s.
They would come across as rather stupid, after all, if Gabriel accepted and they had to reveal they didn’t know the first thing about what they’d just proposed.

The dancers should stand facing each other, keep their feet loose and relaxed, standing so that they are facing each other with about an arm's length of space in between them...
By the time he got to the second paragraph, Gabriel had begun to suspect that guide - Learn How To Shag In One Minute - was not precisely what he was looking for. With a frown, he went back to the search results and looked around a bit further.
Ah, so apparently shag dancing was a thing. It looked rather awkward and had no relevance to his research, doubly so as angels did not dance and he certainly had not picked up the habit since becoming mortal, so in the end Gabriel sighed and just put his phone down.
All right, it seemed that the Internet was not a reliable source, regardless of the large amounts of porn that, he had been informed, could be found in it. He had absolutely no intention to come across as a fool if - when? - Beelzebub brought up the matter again, and therefore he needed better sources than dubious websites with excessive amounts of Xs in their name.
A book. Books are more reliable.
Of course Gabriel was not so gullible to think all books could be trusted - he had seen too many outlandish editions of the Bible not to know better - so he would need to be certain the book he got his hands on would be a reputable one.
And he just so happened to know an expert in the field.

“Lord Beelzeb--”
“Nothing!”
Dagon blinked, taken aback, when Lord Beelzebub let out a noise that was only slightly more dignified than a shriek and slammed their laptop shut. They had been sitting on their throne, staring at the screen with such keen interest they hadn’t heard her coming in - and now, for some reason, they were sitting on the laptop.
… All right. Dagon would assume that whatever they were looking at was a private matter and not ask, then. She cleared her throat and somehow managed to keep a straight face despite the utter surprise; she had never seen the Lord of the Flies caught so off-guard.
“What do you want!” Beelzebub barked, looking one step away from trying to turn her to ashes. Not that Hellfire could destroy a demon, of course, but it would hurt quite badly and Dagon liked it better when she was not hurt quite badly.
“I, uh, am here concerning the meeting to review the performance of our demons this month,” she said. “If it suits you, we can move the time--”
“You can chair that stupid meeting,” the Prince of Hell snapped. “Now leave. I’m busy.”
“Oh. Is it anything I can help wi--”
“You can help by chairing the meeting in my stead.”
“Ah. Does that mean I am authorized to choose who to punish and what bonuses to award--”
“You’re authorized to do whatever the Heaven you want, as long as you leave me now!”
The flies around Lord Beelzebub’s head buzzed furiously as though to underline the unspoken threat, and Dagon was clever enough not to argue further: a quick bow, and she was out of the throne room as fast as her legs could carry her while still maintaining some composure.
Once alone, Beelzebub let out a groan and rubbed their eyes. They stood, picked up the laptop from their throne, and opened it again. The screen was cracked, but then again the entire thing was so busted it was plainly not supposed to work in any capacity, and Beelzebub had yet to meet a piece of technology that would defy their order to work when they were supposed to.
It sure worked now, as Beelzebub turned it back on and to look at their most recent searches.
how to do courtship how to court human how to court idiot how to kiss human genitalia how penis work how vagina work how to have sex tutorial
The last one led to a rather educational video depicting a man and a woman on a large, round bed. If they squinted, the man even looked a little like Gabriel.
Beelzebub supposed it would do for now, in case they decided to acquire female genitalia for the occasion, but they were still on the fence about that and would probably need to seek more varied videos. Just to make sure they had grasped the main idea, of course.
“Unnecessarily complicated, is what all this is,” Beelzebub, Prince of Hell and Lord of the Flies, declared loudly. Then they leaned back on their throne, reached for one of the mugs Gabriel had bought them, and hit play again.
For research.
***
“Gabriel! It’s good to see you.”
“He doesn’t mean that,” Crowley muttered.
“Come, sit. I’ll make some tea.”
“Feel free to decline, we won’t mind.”
“Tea would be much appreciated, thank you,” Gabriel said, to Crowley’s annoyance, and sat, to his further annoyance, while entirely ignoring his remarks, to his utter annoyance. He looked around the cottage, and if he dared say anything about the decor Crowley would chew his head off, especially after seeing what kind of minimalistic nightmare Heaven was.
“This is… cozy,” Gabriel finally said after a slight hesitation, leaving Crowley just a little miffed that he didn’t, after all, get a good excuse to chew off his head. Yet.
“Oh, we’re still in the process of moving everything,” Aziraphale was saying, picking up the teapot he’d put on the stove only minutes before Gabriel had showed up at the bookstore. With the portal-door between the store and the cottage wide open, the sound of him knocking had carried over and Aziraphale had let him in before Crowley could stop it.
“We will keep the door open between here and my bookstore, it is such a convenient place to store all my books and I am not ready to give it up just yet. Crowley still needs to move some paintings out of his flat, that garish throne and the decoration he stole from a church--”
“I didn’t steal it, the church was bombed.”
“I remember. It was an eventful evening,” Aziraphale said lightly, putting the teapot on the table. “I almost got discorporated, but Crowley came to help me out. He saved us all upstairs so much paperwork.”
“Ah,” Gabriel said, clearly not sure what to say to that. “I mean-- thank you.”
Crowley gave him a long, unimpressed look, and he cleared his throat. “Anyway… where’s here, exactly?”
“That’s on a need-to-know basis and you don’t need to know,” Crowley said, crossing his arms. They both had agreed that neither Heaven nor Hell would ever know where their cottage was, and while Gabriel was technically part of neither, he still counted as a stuck-up archangel as far as Crowley was concerned. Now that he knew about the cottage, something would have to be done about the door connecting it to the bookstore. Maybe a seal, the kind that would keep out anyone who was not the two of them…
“It’s good to know you’re doing well,” Aziraphale was saying, clearly speaking for himself only, and poured tea in all three cups on the table despite the fact Crowley had elected not to sit yet, instead glaring at Gabriel in hopes he would feel uncomfortable enough to leave. “Now, what was that you mentioned about needing research books?” he asked, and brought the cup to his mouth.
“I need pornography books,” Gabriel declared, and the excellent tea Aziraphale had just sipped was sprayed right back out on the table in a fine mist. From his corner, Crowley raised both eyebrows up to almost his hairline.
Well. That was not what he’d expected to hear.
Aziraphale looked down at the mess on the table and on his own clothes before he gave Gabriel a very, very weary look. “You know, don’t you, that there really is no need for codes now?”
Gabriel shook his head. “No, no, it’s not a code. I do need some pornography books.”
Aziraphale stared.
“... For research. As I sa-- Aziraphale?”
No answer: Aziraphale stood, without a further word, and was out of the room within moments, hands up in the air. Whether to find someplace to scream in peace, stare at the wall for a few minutes while scrubbing the mental image out of his brain, or try to clean the tea off his clothes, Crowley was not sure.
He would check on him in a minute. First, he had questions.
“Research, huh?” he said, leaning on the table across a rather bewildered Gabriel, who had somehow expected a different reaction to him asking to borrow pornography books. He grinned, wide enough to almost make his cheeks hurt. There was some amazing mocking material there, he could feel it. “And who is this about? A new friend? A coworker?”
Still stunned by Aziraphale’s reaction, Gabriel answered without pausing a moment to ponder whether he should answer that question. “Beelzebub,” he said, like he was answering a question on what kind of tea he preferred.
Ah.
For a few moments Crowley could only stare, the grin frozen on his lips. He was startled out of it by a sound like breaking glass that, he realized rather belatedly, came from inside his own brain.
No. No no no no. Nope. Nope. Abort, abort.
“Angel!” he called out, his voice a little strangled, and went to search for Aziraphale to make him share with him whatever bleach he was now using on his brain. Behind him, Gabriel spoke up.
“Uh, so can I borrow a book--” he tried to ask, but a slamming door was the only reply he got for a good while.
***
“Oh, this is never going to come out…”
Aziraphale sighed, looking down at his waistcoat, whose front was currently drenched with tea. Of course he could miracle it away, with Gabriel no longer in the position of writing him strongly worded letters about frivolous miracles... but he could feel a headache build up just thinking about Gabriel and looking around for a clean napkin was a rather welcomed distraction.
Until Crowley stepped in, eyes wide.
“Beelzebub,” he blurted out, causing Aziraphale to nearly jump out of his skin and frantically look around. God knew, the last thing he needed to deal with was the Lord of the Flies in his bookstore.
“What-- where??”
“No, I mean--” Crowley let out a pained noise, rubbing his eyes like he hoped to get an awful image off his retinas. “It’s about Beelzebub. Gabriel’s research. On pornography.”
Ah.
“Ah,” Aziraphale said. He needed a few moments for what he’d just heard to entirely sink into his brain. When it did, he barely repressed a shudder. “That is… not… what I was expecting.”
“The Archangel Fucking Gabriel and Beelzebub. It’s in my brain now. Can you miracle it away?”
“I’m afraid that goes beyond my abilities,” Aziraphale said, reaching up to put a hand on his own head to calm the building headache. “If your head also hurts something awful, though, I can help with that. If you can get the tea out of my waistco-- oh. Thank you.” He smiled as Crowley took care of that with a snap of his fingers, the other hand still firmly on his eyes.
“You’re welcome. Now, can we throw him whatever book he wants and then throw him out?”
Aziraphale was very much opposed to throwing books, of course, but shoving a pornography book in Gabriel’s hands and firmly showing him the door seemed the best course of action.
***
“... I can explain.”
“No offence, but we’d really rather you do not.”
Gabriel shifted a little, a heavy leather-bound book in his arms. “Right. Well, er… thank you for the book. I’ll return it once I’ve--”
“Feel free to return it whenever. You’re very much welcome,” Aziraphale spoke quickly, and while he didn’t physically shove Gabriel through the door, he very much did get the message that he really wanted him to leave sooner rather than later. “Best of, er, luck. With your research,” he added quickly, and closed the door behind him.
Gabriel stood on the spot a few moments, blinking in slight confusion, but in the end he shrugged it off - maybe he had caught him in a busy moment - and opened the book to have a quick look.
… Huh. Could a mortal’s spine actually do that?
There was laughter, a couple of children running past him, and Gabriel immediately closed the book. Right, right - looking at pornography in public was frowned upon, so he ought to wait until he was back home. On the way back, he’d purchase a pen and notebook.
In case he needed to write something down.
***
Once their research was completed, Beelzebub was still not certain what it was about the act that so many humans found irresistible - but, they had to admit, their curiosity was piqued. Perhaps a carnal act with Gabriel would pave the way for his descent into Hell, perhaps it would not, but either way they would get to know what it precisely was about, so they would be getting something out of it.
The only thing for them to find out was whether Gabriel would be a willing participant, which was a rather important point because they may be the Prince of Hell but they also had standards. And, all things considered, they got the answer to that rather quickly: they couldn’t be many other reasons for Gabriel to be sitting at his desk with an open book full of pornographic images and a notebook half-filled with notes.
At least, they hoped they were not. Beelzebub found that the idea Gabriel might harbor carnal desire for someone else left them distinctly annoyed.
“I can explain,” Gabriel blurted out as soon as he recovered from the mini heart attack Beelzebub’s sudden appearance in flames and smoke had given in. Quick recovery, they had to give him that. “This is, uh-- this is-- research, for--”
“You’ve given my question some thought, I see.”
“Well--” he finally regained composure, and cleared his throat. “I have.”
“And…?”
“I’m not certain I do have those, uh, inclinations, but I’d be open to give it a try. If you’re so inclined,” he added quickly.
“I see,” Beelzebub said, their voice perfectly collected. Inwardly, however, they felt very much like a Jehovah's Witness who’d just been invited inside to talk after knocking: hadn’t really thought they would get that far and had already forgotten just about everything they had planned to do in the event. So they said nothing else, and stared.
Gabriel said nothing else. And stared.
Needless to say, that was not a promising start.
“... Which one?” Beelzebub finally asked.
“Huh?”
“Which set of genitalia.”
“Oh. I have--”
“I know what you have, I have seen you showering. I’m asking which one I should get now.”
“Ah.” Gabriel glanced at the book as though hoping to find an answer there. “Er… either? We can throw a coin,” he muttered, and dug a coin out of his pocket and handed it to them. “Head for penis and--”
Beelzebub threw the coin, caught it, and looked down at it. “Tails.”
“Right. Well--”
“Do not presume for even a moment I will allow you to be above me.”
“I’m not presuming, I just-- what are those?”
“Notes,” Beelzebub muttered, more than slightly irritated at having forgotten their own script. They shuffled through the clue cards they had pulled out of their back pockets, rather wishing their handwriting did not look like a dying fly had dragged itself across the paper after being dunked in ink.
 “... Right. So we have come to the agreement we both consent. At this point, we’re supposed to--” they began, and trailed off when Gabriel did the unthinkable.
He laughed.
“What are you-- hey! Stop laughing!” Beelzebub buzzed furiously, their face suddenly really, really hot. They crumpled notes in their fist and glaring up at Gabriel. “Cease this instant!” they ordered, and were a moment away from kicking him in the shin - how dare he laugh at the Lord of the Flies? - when Gabriel spoke, his laugh dying down to a snicker.
“I-- heh. My apologies. I just--” he gestured to the papers crumpled in Beelzebub’s fist, and then at his own notebook on the desk. “One way or another, we end up with paperwork. I suspect humans are more spontaneous about it.”
Beelzebub huffed. “Well, I am not human,” they muttered, but the anger died down, and they crossed their arms. “If you don’t plan by the book, how do you know if you’re getting things right?”
“Well-- sometimes you don’t know. Humans take chances all the time.”
A scoff. “What a disgustingly human thing to say. Is that how your mind operates now?”
“... I do still find it somewhat frightening,” Gabriel said, quietly, and whatever mockery Beelzebub was about to utter next died in their throat. The look he was giving them was surprisingly open, and he looked painfully vulnerable.
In the end, when they spoke, their voice was just as quiet.
“You have no reason to be frightened,” they said, and burned the note in their fist, letting the ashes fall on the floor. “I usually do punish failure, but I’m willing to make you an exception, I suppose.”
A chuckle, and Gabriel lifted a hand, holding it up almost close enough to Beelzebub’s face to touch the skin. “May I?”
“... You may,” they replied. The touch was warm, foreign and familiar at the same time - did he touch their face like that a long time ago, when they were still Ba’al? - and leaning into it, finding out where it all led, was so very tempting. Ironic, considering that they were supposed to be the one doing the tempting and… and…
No.
“Wait.” Beelzebub reached up to brace a hand against Gabriel’s chest, keeping him at a distance. He immediately stopped, and looked down at them in confusion, their faces only inches apart. “There is a chance this may count as a serious sin.”
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Shouldn’t have told him. He’ll call it off.
Gabriel blinked, and the confused expression turned into a smile. “I figured,” he said, and tilted up their chin. “I think I’ll take the chance.”
… Well, they had given him a fair warning, so their conscience was clear. Would have been clear, if they had one. “You’re a fool,” the Prince of Hell informed him.
“I figured that too,” the fool replied.
What followed was a bit messier and significantly more complicated than expected, but given enough time and attempts, they did figure that out as well.
***
A good while after they had both caught their breath and Gabriel’s heart no longer felt like it was trying to burst out of his chest, Beelzebub had yet to say a word.
But they were still there, even if silent, accepting Gabriel’s arms around them and his quiet breathing against the nape of their neck, and he supposed that was a sure sign they had no complaints. In the end, he dared break the peaceful silence.
“Can you stay for the night?” he asked, his voice low.
“I am Prince of Hell. I can do as I wish.”
“... Do you wish to stay for the night?”
“I can’t see why not,” they conceded, causing Gabriel’s lips to curl into a smile. He said nothing, kissing the back of Beelzebub’s shoulder instead. Of course, they could tell he was smiling right away. “What are you smirking about?”
“Well, it was-- pleasant, was it not?”
Gabriel felt their light snort more than he heard it. “Bragging already, are you?” they muttered, and turned in his arms to face him. Their skin was pleasantly warm. “Do I have to remind you who was leading?”
Of course, there was no need. It wasn’t often that Gabriel found himself in the position of having to look up at the Lord of the Flies, and he hadn’t minded the change. He hadn’t minded at all.
“Oh, I never tried to take credit.” Gabriel dropped a kiss on the bridge of Beelzebub’s nose, gaining himself a frown and a buzzing noise - but no attempt at all to shove him off them. He was dimly aware of the fact that there was a folder in Hell bearing his name which perhaps had just gained a sin in red ink, but he found he couldn’t even begin to feel concern.
“Next time,” Beelzebub was saying, “I’ll try the other set of genitalia.”
“Heh. So there will be a next time?”
The Lord of the Flies did shove him at that, flat onto his back, before they rolled on top of him. They propped themselves up on their elbows, which rested on his chest. It wasn’t the most comfortable predicament, but Gabriel’s muscles still felt like cooked asparagus and he wouldn’t have bothered to protest for anything short of being raked over hot coals.
“We both have researched a great deal more than what we have put in practice, and I don’t see why the time spent on it should go to waste,” they said, tilting their head. “Don’t you agree?”
A smile, and Gabriel dared tilt up his head to try and catch their lips again. He missed, and his mouth rested briefly on their throat instead before he pulled them down against his chest.
“I do,” he murmured. “Wholeheartedly.”

Deckerstar (friendship or OTP, I'm feeling angst) + “She’s at the hospital. I—I don’t know what happened.”
“She’s at the hospital. I—I don’t know what happened.” Deckerstar - Established (alternate S5 where Lucifer got to come back without Michael ever being involved)
 So...this one got away from me. And honestly I have at least double this amount in my head for a continuation on this. But if I wait until I have time to write all of it then it’s more of a short story than a prompt fill, so I finally decided to cut it here.
First time writing these characters, so here’s hoping I didn’t butcher them.
~~~~~~~~~
               They are at the precinct, Ella updating them with what she’s found on their most recent case. Chloe stepped out for a call, and conversation slips to local events while they wait for her to return.
               “I’m just saying,” Ella points at him with a thin piece of metal. “I’ve heard you perform, you’d sell out a concert.”
               “I am not disagreeing, Miss Lopez.” Lucifer shrugs, “but Lux stays quite full as it is.”
               “That’s not –” She cuts off as the door opens, “Chloe, tell Lucifer…” She frowns, voice suddenly concerned, “Chloe?”
               Lucifer turns to face his partner, a fear he hasn’t seen in their eyes since…”Trixie?”
               She nods, “The school just called. She’s at the hospital,” he voice cracks, “I don’t know what happened. All they’ll say is she fell and –”
               “Detective,” she takes a shuddering breath as he takes her hand. “That’s it.” He turns to Ella, “Miss Lopes, would you be so kind as to inform the Captain that Detective Decker has had a family emergency?”
               “Totally!” She comes around the table, pulling the detective into a tight hug. Ash she pulls away she looks up at him, “keep me posted.”
               He nods, “of course.” He follows as Chloe grabs her bag, waiting to take her arm until they are outside.
               “What are you doing?” Chloe glares as he leads her to the side of the precinct. “Lucifer, this isn’t the time for your theatrics.”
               “On the contrary, it seems like exactly the time.” He opens his wings, holding an arm out. “Even you can’t drive faster than an Angel flies.” He tilts his head, “unless you would rather deal with lunch hour traffic?”
               “No,” She allows him to tuck her into his side, arms around his neck as he grabs her by the waist. Her only warning is his grip tightening, and then they are moving. It’s all so fast she hardly has time to register, his hands steadying her as he lands in an ally.
               “Easy, Chloe.” Her hand goes to her head, which is spinning. “Unfortunately you humans don’t handle flight as well as we do.”
               “No kidding.” After another minute the spinning has stopped, she’s mildly nauseated but ignores it.
               “You go ahead,” he motions toward the hospital. Before she can protest he waves a hand dismissively, “I’m just going back for the car. You can hardly tell the Captain that the devil flew you to the hospital when if he asks why our cars were still parked.”
               She nods, “Lucifer!” she grabs his wrist, his wings dropping as he looks at her. “Thank you.”
               He softens, “you needn’t thank me, not for this.” He motions toward the building once more, “now go, I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
               Once back to his car he breaks speed limits and a few traffic laws to get back to the hospital. Once he’s parked he makes his way to the front desk. “Trixie Decker,” he states before the young receptionist has time to speak.
               “I’m sorry, but I don’t have a Trixie in my system.” She replies with a frown.
               “Ah, my apologies dear. Try Beatrice Decker,”
               Another moment of typing and she nods to herself, “are you the father?”
               “No,” he shakes his head. “But she is….family.” There’s a sentence he’d never expected to say. The woman nods again, giving him the room number and brief directions.
               When Lucifer arrives Chloe is sitting next to the bed; Trixie is unconscious, a bandaged wrapped around her head. There’s a cold fury settling in his chest, but for now he buries the need to punish someone in favor of comforting his partner.
               Chloe looks up when he comes into the room, rising to close the distance between them. The fear has shifted into concern, a frown etched on her lips. “They think it’s a mild concussion.” She turns back to face the bed, arms crossing over her chest. “All the school rep said she fell.”
               “Was no one watching them? Didn’t anyone see what happened?” He asks, looking from Chloe to the child then back.
               “They don’t want to tell me anything other than they are ‘still gathering information.’” He assumes her tone is a direct mockery of the representative she’d spoken with. “Doctor said once she wakes up and they can run a few tests they’ll have a better idea of the extent of the damage…” her voice wavers, trailing off before she take a shuddering breath.
               “Hey,” he gently tugs at her wrist, Chloe instantly pushing into his chest as his arms wrap around her. “She’s a strong little creature…like her mother.” He rests his chin on the top of her head, “I suspect Trixie will be up and about in no time.”
               He waits until she begins to pull away to release her, reaching up to push loose hair from her face. She nods, giving him a weak smile. She reaches down, grabbing her phone as she takes another step away from him. “I should try and reach Dan again,” she runs a hand through her hair. “He’s camping and the school wasn’t able to reach him.”
               “If it’s all right with you, I’m going to go find where they sell caffeinated beverages.” He tilts his head, “Would you like anything?”
               “Actually, a coffee sounds amazing.” She smiles at him, and with a dip of his head he’s taken to the halls once more. It doesn’t take long for him to procure the coffees and a pastry. He stops in one of the waiting rooms, pulling out his own phone.
               He listens to it ring before finally there’s a female voice on the other side. “Hello?”
               “Doctor,” he greets. “I need your advice?”
               “Oh, um sure. What’s going on?” Linda asks, Charlie cooing in the background.
               “The Detec- Chloe’s daughter is in the hospital,” he’s suddenly cut off.
               “Oh my God Lucifier, what happened?” Linda’s voice has pitched and he sighs.
               “She apparently fell at school, they believe it’s a concussion.” He replies adding before she can cut him off once more. “I need to know how to help Chloe. All of my experience thus far has been her in the hospital, not someone she cares about.”
               Linda’s voice softens, “Lucifer, you’re already doing it. The best thing you can do for Chloe right now is be there to support her.” He hears Charlie begin to cry in the background, “look Lucifer, I have to go. But if there is anything you need just let us know.”
               “Of course. Thank you, Doctor.” He ends the call and after pocketing his phone grabs the drinks and pastry once more. It wasn’t the answer he had hoped for, but at least looking out for his partner was something he knew he could do.
               When he makes it back to the room Chloe is in the bedside chair once more, some of tension leaving her shoulders when she sees him. “I thought you might be hungry,” he offers the iced muffin alongside her coffee.
               She accepts them gratefully, motioning to the seat beside her. “Dan is on his way, but it will be a few hours before he can get here.”
               “Well, until dear Daniel can arrive…I’m not going anywhere.” He reaches out to rest his hand on her leg. “I’m here as long as you need me.”
               “Damn it, Lucifer.” Chloe’s voice wavers, and he watches as she rubs her eyes with the back of her hand. Before he can voice concern she continues, “you’re going to make me cry…”
               “I’m…sorry?” He’s not sure exactly how to proceed, thankfully she doesn’t give him time to question himself.
               “No,” she sets the coffee down so she can grab his hands with hers. “I just…you’re…” she takes a slow breath. “It means a lot, that you’ll stay.” Her gaze drops to their hands, “There are so many questions, and I’m terrified…but you.” She looks up to give him a small smile. “You’re like an anchor, keeping me steady.” She leans, resting her head on his shoulder. “Thank you.”
               “As I said before, you needn’t thank me, love.” He runs his thumb over her knuckles. “I’ve no intention of leaving you to handle things alone, not anymore.” He presses a ghost of a kiss to her crown, “besides, the little gremlin has grown on me.”
It pulls a laugh from her, and for now that is enough.
lily reads “heart of a jedi”, continued
It turns out that someone was eavesdropping on Luke’s conversation with Ben -- apparently, you need the Force to be  a ghost, but not to listen to one?
“The Heart of the Jedi?” High-Admiral Tharkus repeated. “Are you certain of that?”
The  replying  voice  came  clearly  through  the  comm  link’s speaker: “Certain, High-Admiral. I listened through a window. I heard everything perfectly.”
This dude is a member of the “Dioskouroi,” which is absolutely hilarious because that’s the Greek name for the mythological Castor and Pollux (better known under their Latin name of Gemini). I’m sure this was intentional, but I’m confused, since... there’s nothing twins-y about them so far?
“They’re  a  quite  rare  species  who  possess  the  ultimate  in camouflage. Their molecular construction allows them to absorb vast amounts of energy from their surrounding atmosphere and transmute it to matter of any form. They are the ultimate impostors, taking on the guise of any being they wish.”
“Shapeshifters!” Kantos exclaimed. “Like Clawdites?”
“But  not  limited  to  humanoid  form;  more  like  the  Shi’ido,  of which they are an exiled branch. Since we’ve known of their existence, the  Shi’ido  have  maintained  neutrality  in  the affairs  of  the  Republic and Empire; the Dioskouroi hold no such compunctions. That’s why I set one of them to spying within the rebel base, hoping for some break.
Wook says that Clawdites is another term for “changeling,” AKA the shapeshifter species from Attack of the Clones, but claims that Ep. II represents their first appearance. Clearly, that is incorrect since this draft predates them. I assumed they were in the comics at some point, since there are a lot of other comics references (including a Nagai one, lol). I had never heard of the Shi’do either, but apparently they’re in there too somewhere?
(though again Wook says their first appearance was in the Galaxy of Fear series - I don’t expect them to count Heart of a Jedi, since it’s non-canon and was never officially published, but I don’t think Flint was the first to make them up, either. not sure what’s up with that.)
“Pollux, what is he doing now?”
“I  don’t  know,  Sir,”  said  the  voice.  “Just  hold  a  moment.  I’ll check.”
On the planet Tatooine, the helmeted and orange-suited figure climbed from the cockpit of his X-wing and dropped to the ground.
The  little  ship  sat  in  a  small  level  patch  atop  a  ridge.  Rocky outcrops along the edge made the fighter invisible from below. The one called  Pollux  walked  to  the  edge  and  climbed  onto  a  boulder  to  peer cautiously down.
oh. oh. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE, FLINT.
High-Admiral,” he said urgently, “it appears he’s preparing to travel. He’s just unpacked a hover-scooter from his ship.”
“Not  traveling  by  X-wing?”  Tharkus  said  with  some  surprise. “Where’s he going, then?”
“He needs a bowl that was stolen,” Pollux explained. “He spoke of the Sand People. They’re notorious raiders and thieves here. If they took the object, my guess is he’s going after them.”
“To retrieve a bowl?” said Tharkus. “Why?”
GOOD QUESTION.
“It holds a clue to finding the planet, Sir.”
“Ah,” Tharkus said, understanding. “Well then, stay with him Pollux. Report on where he goes. If necessary, give  him help, without his  knowing  it,  of  course.  We  must  see  that  Skywalker  reaches  this Angorathea of his.”
“Yes, High-Admiral,” Pollux said briskly. “Transmission out.”
As  he  was  shutting  off  his  radio  link,  his  high-admiral  was doing  the  same.  Tharkus  turned  to  look  at  Kantos,  a  gleam  of satisfaction in his eye.
“This is certainly our  chance, General,” he said with force. “A chance to defeat the rebels after all!”
Kantos shook his head. “I don’t follow, Sir. How can following Skywalker do that?”
“If what Pollux heard is true, this ‘Heart of the Jedi’ is a direct access to his power. It must be the way he taps into this ‘Force’ of his. If  we  could  seize  it  for  ourselves...”  a  note  of  longing  came  into  his voice, “why, we might even turn it to our use. Think, Kantos, what a weapon we’d have then. Nothing could stop us.”
“But, what if we can’t use it?” the other inquired.
“Then we destroy it!” Tharkus said ruthlessly. “And Skywalker as well. In one move we wipe out the Force’s only champion and shut off  its  source.  Either  way,  the  Jedi  threat  will  be  truly  erased.  The Force will no longer aide the enemy side. And without that they’ll be no  match  for  us.”  He  picked  up  one  of  the  slender  pieces, contemplating it gloatingly. “The game will be in our hands once more. With Skywalker out of the picture, our people will again be convinced that we can win. Support will come to us. And with our full strength rallied, we will strike!”
THAT’S NOT HOW THE FORCE WORKS - though, to be fair
they don’t know that
this is a classic Imperial mindset and 100% in character
BUT... it is so hard for me to take anything in this book seriously.
also, if Pollux doesn’t have a brother named Castor, I will be extremely disappointed.
“I’m sending you to Cybertron.”
Just like that. There was no warning, no ‘would you like to’ (hah, as if there was ever going to be that), just the announcement that hey, they’d be doing this now, congrats!
Sideswipe’s optics snapped open from where he had been basking in the pleasant afterglow of—for once—getting some of Megatron’s attention on himself. The tyrant’s frame was all but scorching to the touch where Sideswipe was stretched along his side and partly on top of him, but damn, the mech had stamina.
“What?!” Sunstreaker snarled from Megatron’s other side, and Sideswipe could feel his desire to push himself upright to glare at the warlord all proper like.
But after a testing twitch, the languid heaviness in his limbs made him think better of it. See, first Megatron had fragged Sunstreaker absolutely strutless in some… Whatever reunion thing this was.
And then, like he hadn’t just exerted himself to the pits and back and then again, Megatron had decided to fuck Sideswipe too.
Sideswipe had no complaints about that. Neither did Sunstreaker for that matter, because his brother had been really unsure if he could’ve survived any more of Megatron’s attentions. It probably wasn’t an unexpected spell of kindness or mercy on Megatron’s part, but likely more something along the lines of not wanting to completely burn out the carrier of his sparkling.
While apparently still having some frustrations of his own left, because man, Megatron had gone hard on him. Again, Sideswipe didn’t have a single complaint about that and it was some spectacular interfacing–
But he was a little dented and sore right now.
At least it looked like Megatron had finally worked through whatever aimless aggression he’d had left after beating some Autobots. That had only taken all of two days, too.
Of course, then they got to the end, and suddenly they were being told they were going to get sent to another planet, where there definitely wouldn’t be interfacing like this because it didn’t exactly sound like Megatron intended to come along. He was kind of needed on Earth, anyway.
“You’re sending us to that dead chunk of metal?” Sunstreaker continued in a furious hiss.
It wasn’t about the deadness of the planet to him, though. “The slag are we supposed to be doing there anyway?”
It wasn’t about lack of things to do either, really.
“You will pay Shockwave’s compound a visit,” Megatron growled right back. It didn’t take a genius to surmise what had prompted this, based on that.
“This is about the Autobots, right?” Sideswipe asked, and although tired, he was nowhere near the shape Sunstreaker was in, so he leveraged himself partly up to look at the warlord. Megatron’s optics were as baleful as ever, but Sideswipe wasn’t a coward any more than his brother was. “You don’t want them to get their hands on the sparklet?”
Megatron inclined his helm at him. “There is a far lower threat of Autobots on Cybertron.” And the Prime wasn’t there. Who was, at this point? Wreckers were probably off-world. Ultra Magnus? Elita and his troops? Maybe a few others.
And who in their right mind would try to bring down Shockwave in his lair with soldiers that limited? The rumored security Shockwave maintained was enough to dent even the strongest of optimists.
For the safety of the sparkling, Megatron seemed intent on sending them into the middle of that. Which… Well, it would at least remove the sparkling from the Autobots’ reach pretty effectively. Even if they tried to follow, they’d still need to go toe to toe with Shockwave and his drones and countless automatic defenses, not to mention the Seekers and other Decepticons stationed with him, before they could get to Sunstreaker and the sparkling. That was practically suicide.
So, if the goal was to keep the sparkling from falling prey to the Autobots’ ill intent, it was a solid plan.
Didn’t make a certain someone any more happy with it.
At the same time… Sunstreaker’s engine was revving like mad, and not from nice things like arousal or the like, but even he couldn’t deny Earth wasn’t the safest place. The Autobots had gotten into the Victory before. Jazz had already paid them a visit. They were just lucky the Autobots hadn’t seemed so hell bent on ‘freeing’ Sunstreaker at the time as they had become in further practice—after Ratchet’s visit, really. Them and their pissing need to confirm for themselves what influence Sunstreaker was under, when Ratchet refused to share.
And then thinking Sunstreaker was under enough influence to warrant killing the sparkling if nothing else worked. Or, slag, would they have tried to bring the protocols offline anyway, and then just reprogrammed him if that fucked him up beyond the point of no return?
No point thinking about all that now, though. It hadn’t come to pass.
But it could, still.
Unless they were on Cybertron, under Shockwave’s ever so loving care.
That was a bit of an issue though. “You think he won’t put us on a dissection table for being split-spark?” Sunstreaker asked sharply, engine still snarling and his vocalizer not much better.
Megatron glared at him. “Shockwave knows better than to go against my orders. You’re free to consent to his research, but he’s not permitted to touch you without your permission—nor is he allowed to harm the sparkling in any way, indirectly or not.”
Seemed… Reasonable enough, considering this was Megatron they were talking about. Shockwave was one of the most dangerous Cybertronians currently in existence, and not just because he was an amoral and emotion free intellectual, but because he was just as formidable physically.
Except there wasn’t much question that Megatron could and would kick his aft if Shockwave stepped out of line. It was only logical to obey, lest you bring harm and potential death upon yourself. Right?
Frag, he had no idea what went around in Shockwave’s helm. Could they trust this situation, or would they end up getting their spark all cut up in the name of Shockwave’s hunt for ever increasing knowledge?
Did they have any choice in taking the risk?
They didn’t, not really. Megatron wanted it, and what Megatron wanted, Megatron got.
Sunstreaker was still growling. “What happened to contributing to the sparkling, anyway?”
Megatron barely missed a beat before growling back an entirely aggravated, “I think I have contributed an adequate amount, wouldn’t you say?”
That… Yeah. Sunstreaker took a moment to consider the fact there was a very sizable pool under his aft, and more still leaking right out of him, and that probably wasn’t going to change anytime if you took into account the amount of transfluid Megatron had pumped into him.
Sunstreaker grumbled something under his breath. Sideswipe snickered before pushing himself fully to sitting–
Only to flop across Megatron’s chassis, folding his arms in front himself and resting his chin on them.
As casual as Sideswipe made the act, he was prepared for painful retaliation. This had to be testing some boundaries.
Nothing ever came, though. Megatron’s look of surprise quickly melted into a single raised optical ridge that only earned a grin from the red twin.
Boundaries successfully pushed!
Sunstreaker had dedicated himself to sulking and didn’t even look their way. He was an ass like that.
“When?” Sideswipe asked, tilting his helm a bit. Megatron didn’t need to ask what he was referring to, of course. He wasn’t an idiot.
“As soon as your brother gathers the strength to move.”
Sunstreaker quieted for a second, and Sideswipe’s laughter rang at the same moment as his twin broke his silence to the tune of some very angry cussing.
Way to offend a mech there, Megs.
But after a bit more rest and some much needed fueling, Sunstreaker managed to drag himself from the berth. He was still a barely contained ball of violence, but equipped with far too great awareness of his shaking limbs that completely robbed him of any honest chance at expressing his feelings through anything except waspish words.
Sideswipe ignored that. The ire wasn’t really aimed at him anyway. Megatron got most of it, but anyone else they happened across wasn’t really spared either.
Megatron mostly ignored it too. Sometimes Sunstreaker got growled responses, a few times he got claws, but really there wasn’t near as much reaction as there could have been. That only seemed to make Sunstreaker even more annoyed, the hissy fit he was busy throwing spiraling to rival anything they’d seen Starscream dish out.
That fact wasn’t lost to the Decepticons, either. There were muted snickers, whispered words comparing Megatron’s two (apparently primary) flings, and talk about how he had to have a type right there.
But all of it was spoken where Megatron couldn’t fully hear it, lest he be given a reason to administer some punishment for lack of respect or whatever.
After they’d fetched their few possessions from their quarters, it was honestly an excessive amount of Decepticons that were ordered to accompany them to the space bridge. There was no question that Megatron was very serious about not giving the Autobots a chance to successfully do a damn thing, even assuming they’d had the time to recover even somewhat.
Which they probably hadn’t, if Sideswipe’s assessment of how many injuries they’d all acquired was even close to the truth. They had held their own fine outside the Ark last he’d seen, but of course then the Seekers had basically carpet bombed the lot of them, and if that didn’t hurt he didn’t know what did.
But so they made it to the site of the space bridge without an incident, and the twins unboarded the best space taxi, Astrotrain. “How did you even have everything set up so quick?” Sideswipe asked from Megatron as he trotted up to the big mech overseeing the space bridge’s activation.
Megatron glanced at him. “Soundwave arranged everything. On my order.”
Ah. So while they were busy having the lights fragged out of them by Megatron, he’d apparently had the time to let his third know about his plans.
And of course Soundwave would get things done. What had he even gotten up to? Informed Shockwave, arranged the Decepticons on this end to escort duty, set up the activation of the bridge itself, and made sure the Decepticons on Cybertron’s end were prepared to receive them and bring them to Shockwave’s compound? Something like that, probably.
There were no Autobots to be seen even by the time the bridge portal opened. “Enter,” Megatron ordered them with a careless gesture in the direction of the portal as it whirled to life.
Sunstreaker growled. “I hate you.” A digit was jabbed at Megatron’s chassis, but despite that, his brother marched towards the bridge. Sideswipe followed after throwing a quick, “See ya!” at the warlord.
“Have a safe trip!” Skywarp wished them with a wave. Sideswipe waved back with a grin.
Meanwhile Starscream hissed, “Good riddance,” right where Sunstreaker was sure to hear it. The SIC became the target of one intense glower, but Sunstreaker didn’t do more than flip the bird at him before stopping at that last step that would have taken him into the portal, waiting until Sideswipe was next to him.
Then they took it together, the scenery of the Earth changing into the green and blue vortex of the bridge’s interior. “Wonder if we’ll get to see any of Shockwave’s experiments,” Sideswipe mused as they walked along the tunnel.
“Just as long as we don’t become those experiments,” Sunstreaker grunted back at him.
Sideswipe laughed. “Come on, have a little faith! I don’t think Shockwave’s dumb enough to go against Megs.”
His brother didn’t have time to make more than a noncommittal noise before they cleared the bridge and appeared on the other side. The dead, dark, cold landscape of Cybertron greeted them—familiar metal beneath their pedes, but no light beyond that the stars cast from the sky that had by now cleared of its old pollution that had once covered nearly all of the planet.
Their home, now nearly inhabitable.
More Decepticons were waiting for them, all of them Seekers. One of them stepped forward to greet them, and that was one they could recognize—if only because his trine had rained acid across Cybertron, much to the chagrin of the Autobots. “I’m Nova Storm,” he introduced himself. One of the Rainmakers, no doubt about that. “Are you okay to drive the way to the compound? It’s not far and the roads should be in passable condition.”
After being carted everywhere via a shuttle, driving sounded pretty nice. Plus they could enjoy the scenery a bit more.
What there was to enjoy. Broken landscape, old marks of explosions, jutting, torn structures as far as the eye could see.
But it was Cybertron.
“Yeah, we’re good,” Sideswipe confirmed. “Just show the way.”
They got a nod in return before all of the Seekers transformed and took to the air on one gesture from Nova Storm. The twins transformed as well and raced after the fliers as they zipped forward, following each other in pairs of two. Even had the roads not been in bad enough condition that they couldn’t go full speed and had to swerve around obstacles on irregular intervals, they would never have kept up with Seekers, but the fliers took that into account. They flew slower than they could, and although still considerably faster than the twins, the pair at the front would loop back around to become the last pair, and repeat so there was always a line of Seekers right ahead of them, pointing the way.
The roads, while far from perfect, were indeed in passable condition the whole way. They didn’t need to transform again before they’d already reached the doors of the compound—and that after driving by all manner of defenses for a considerable time already—the Seekers transforming as well and dropping down around them.
The doors opened to the fliers and the brothers followed them inside. Things were… Honestly you couldn’t even call it lit with how dim everything was, but not like lights were strictly necessary for their species anyway.
It was clear, though, that the fact Cybertron hadn’t orbited a star in a long time was severely affecting life on it. There weren’t many ways to generate energy anymore, especially with the core of the planet almost as dead as the surface.
Sideswipe wondered if the planet would eventually cool enough to make life for their species upon it completely impossible, at least on the surface. The lower decks had always gotten progressively hotter the lower you went. Maybe that still held true to an extent and the few mecha left on the planet could escape beneath the surface even if the temperature dropped too much.
“How many mecha are left on Cybertron, anyway?” Sideswipe asked as they walked the dark but spacious hallways deeper and deeper into the compound—and lower by a level or two, too.
“There are a few more Decepticon bases scattered around,” Nova Storm responded, just vague enough that their question was answered without providing any important intel to them. “Some Autobots are still holed up in Iacon, too, but we don’t have the resources to smoke them out. Same holds true for them too, though.”
“So a stalemate, like on Earth?”
“The whole war everywhere is that right now, I’m pretty sure.”
Something needed to give on one side or the other for things to change.
...Something had given. They’d left the Autobots and stripped their forces on Earth of some of their strongest frontliners.
But was that a change big enough?
What about if they officially changed sides? Sunstreaker wanted to fight the Autobots after what they’d done to him, and Sideswipe couldn’t say he had much against the idea either, not after that whole disaster.
Would that be enough to tip the scales? Could he give their spark and its two frames that much credit?
But that was a moot point right now. They weren’t even on Earth anymore, and wouldn’t be for who knew how long, and it didn’t sound like there was much fighting going on on Cybertron. So, no battles for them to participate in, for either side.
Just a war neither side could win.
“These will be your quarters,” Nova Storm said as they came to one door along a corridor of doors that Sideswipe assumed held other rooms for other occupants. He physically opened the one he pointed out. Most of the Seekers that had accompanied them dispersed at that—only Nova Storm and one other stayed. “I hope you’ll find them adequate. We left a few datapads with some entertainment on them for you, but with how long on energy we are, you probably had more to do on Earth. Sorry about that.”
“Can we spar? With each other, I mean,” Sideswipe asked as he looked inside the room right after Sunstreaker. It was furnished as sparsely as the quarters they’d had on the Victory, but these were over twice as big.
But obviously space wasn’t such an issue on planetside as it was on a spaceship.
“Yeah, sure. Hold on…” Nova Storm went quiet for a moment before they were pinged with a map of the compound—or that of a part of it, anyway. Many portions were clearly omitted, so Sideswipe suspected what they’d gotten was just the area they were allowed to explore, and the rest was off limits.
Shockwave was the secretive sort, anyway.
“You should find your way around with that. We have pretty strict ratios so I can’t suggest burning through too much fuel, though.”
“We’ll be careful,” Sideswipe promised. So… Cybertron might’ve been the safer location for the sparkling, but it looked like life was pretty difficult on it. Not that that should’ve come as much of a surprise. Even the Autobots had known that the Decepticons sent most of the energon they acquired back to Cybertron for a reason.
“Also,” their Seeker friend continued, his optics glowing in the dark as he looked between them, “Flatline has offered to edit your armors to be a little more… Well, no offense, but you look pretty Autobot. He thought it might be a good welcome present.”
That was… Awful nice and thoughtful. Sideswipe blinked in surprise. “Really? He could do that?”
“Yeah, sure. We have the raw materials for it. If you want to?”
Did they want to? Sideswipe locked optics with Sunstreaker and they… Considered the offer. The suggestion was pretty clear: make them look more Decepticon.
It was weird how almost everyone already treated them like they belonged to the faction, despite the fact they had never officially switched sides, only ditched the Autobots. Technically, then, they were Neutrals right now, and that was a dirty word.
But maybe it being a dirty word was why no one called them that. Plus the fact Sunstreaker was, you know, carrying Megatron’s offspring, which in the optics of most probably tied them to the warlord rather effectively.
Not that that was untrue, it was just that… Would it last after the sparkling’s separation? It was like everyone assumed it would.
And in all honesty they were slowly leaning towards the it would themselves.
And they knew they looked the part of an Autobot, had for a long time. They had almost no sharp edges on them, no claws, no fangs. None of the things they’d used to have before joining the ‘Bots, just on account of being Kaonite, and Kaonite gladiators at that.
If they could have that back…
It was tempting. No, not just tempting. They wanted it.
Here they had an opportunity for it.
So why not take it?
Sideswipe nodded at Sunstreaker, then turned his attention to Nova Storm and nodded again. “Honestly, that would be great. If it’s not too much trouble.”
“It’s not. He’s itching to have something to do, anyway,” Nova Storm said with a lopsided grin. “There’s not too much of a need for a medic right now.” And Shockwave probably didn’t involve him in all of his research and experiments, if any at all. He wasn’t sure about that, but hey, if they could give the poor mech something to do, while benefiting from it themselves?
Hell yeah.
“Then we’d love to,” Sideswipe confirmed again, nodding more firmly this time. Nova Storm nodded back at him, before pinging them again, this time with a location on the maps they’d just gotten. “His repair bay is there. Go see him whenever you’re ready and he’ll set you up with everything he needs from you.”
“Sweet. I think we’ll go do that right now.” Not like they had anything better to do. Besides, it’d be nice to have it done ASAP, and just… Get to enjoy their frames again, instead of feeling like they were missing something.
Because they were missing something. They were missing quite a few things, actually.
“Sure. And here’s my comm. Give me a call if you need anything,” Nova Storm said in parting before he took his leave down the corridor with just a wave at them, the other Seeker leaving with him—but also after giving them a wave.
Seriously. They were getting treated like they were already Decepticons in all kinds of ways.
He couldn’t really object to it, though. It was honestly pretty nice.
They closed the door to their room and set down the hallway into the opposite direction, following the map they had until they reached a set of double doors. There wasn’t any more light here than anywhere else, and these doors didn’t just slide out of the way automatically either.
Could they just walk in? Sideswipe wasn’t sure about that, so he gave the door a knock instead.
They only waited for some seconds before the door was opened by a mech from the other side. “Flatline?” Sideswipe asked for confirmation’s sake.
“Ah, you must be Sideswipe and Sunstreaker,” the mech said, looking between them. “Here about your frame edits?”
Straight to the point, huh? “Yeah. We’d kinda like to take you up on that offer.”
“Stellar! Come on in and let’s talk.”
They did. The repair bay was near pitch black like the rest of the place, but that continued to not be a hindrance with all of the other sensors and scanners in their race’s use, that didn’t require one speck of light to work.
Flatline led them to the back of the room with a desk and some chairs. “Alright, what I’ll obviously need from you are designs for what you’d like to look like. I challenge you to come up with something I couldn’t do.”
Sideswipe laughed in good humor at that. “I think we’d just like to return to our pre-Autobot builds, and I don’t think those designs are too out there. Sorry.”
The medic and whatever frame editor he was on the side sighed in a totally exaggerated manner. “Oh well, I’ll just have to live with that. Do you have any pictures of your old designs I could build schematics based on?”
Sunstreaker nodded and fetched his drawing pad from his subspace. Its screen came to life as about the only source of light in the room aside from their optics, and his brother quickly navigated to his drawings of them, as they’d been.
Could they really be that again..?
“Oh, that’s thorough,” Flatline noted, his optics brightening in what looked like excitement. “Did you draw these yourself?”
“Yeah.”
“Impressive! And these are what you want? No changes?”
Sideswipe considered it for a moment, looking at the images Sunstreaker had drawn, and his brother was doing the same. Now was their chance to change whatever they wanted to, huh? But had they ever really had complaints about their old looks? As much as they had been slaves at the time they’d gotten their final upgrades, they had still had some word in what they wanted to look like, as long as it fit the right aesthetic—and standards of attractiveness, but who was going to complain about that?
They’d liked their looks before the Autobots had edited them to look less dangerous, less Kaonite, less Decepticon.
“No changes,” Sunstreaker answered after they’d come to their decision, pushing the drawing pad a little closer to Flatline, who nodded and pulled out a large datapad of his own. He plugged it into Sunstreaker’s pad and deftly downloaded all of the pictures of their old frames as references for himself, as well as the schematics of their frames that Sunstreaker pointed out to him. There wasn’t much to do without those… But maybe Sunstreaker had kept them with his other images in hopes of something like this happening.
Even if they’d never before had any actual hope of it.
“Alright then. Now, if you’d take your armor off,” the medic instructed when he unplugged his datapad and inspected its newly acquired contents, “Hmm… All of it off, it looks like. Your downgrade really was thorough…”
“You don’t say,” Sunstreaker snorted.
Flatline shook his helm in disapproval, probably at whoever had stripped them of all of their edges, and not at Sunstreaker. “There’s a private room behind that door if you don’t want to go walk through the halls on your protoforms back to your quarters. It’s safe within the compound, but understandably that can feel a bit disconcerting.”
You don’t say. Sideswipe made a face. This was the downside of complete edits, you had to be all… Defenseless while they were done. Protoforms just weren’t meant to be uncovered for anything else except planetary entries in its alt-mode. Nothing else. And yeah, for gladiators and warriors that was especially going to have every single instinct screaming at them.
This wasn’t going to be fun.
But the results? Those would be worth it.
“If it’s cool we’d like to stay out of sight,” Sideswipe said as he began to unlock his armor and remove it.
All of it. Literally all of it. Flatline nodded at him, but was courteous enough to not watch the process that Sunstreaker joined in on after just a small delay. Off came their chestplates, their collars, their pauldrons, rerebraces, gauntlets, gloves, waist cinches, groin pieces, cuisses, poleyns, greaves, sabatons...
Helmets and faceplates.
Everything.
They didn’t stop before every piece of armor was stripped off of their frames and nothing but bare protoform was left on every inch of them, their patchy exoskeletons the only thing left to protect their internals.
But then they were done. “I’ll take good care of your armors, fear not,” Flatline promised, then gestured at the door he’d pointed out, “This should take me a few groons. The door’s open, but you can lock it behind yourselves.”
“‘Kay,” was all Sideswipe said before they scurried off to the private room, their protoforms still in the middle of returning to their armorless configurations. That was always a weird feeling, to kind of just… Deflate, when there wasn’t armor to fit into.
They did lock the door behind themselves. There was a berth in the small room, some surfaces for medical equipment that wasn’t there right now, a few chairs. About as bare as their quarters, but that just meant they couldn’t mess with anything they weren’t supposed to mess with.
How disappointing.
They both hopped onto the berth, though neither laid down. Sideswipe poked at some of the exposed machinery in his thigh; Sunstreak inspected his digits and the little joints left to open air.
Pits, their protoforms weren’t fragile, they knew that much, but they still felt mighty fragile right now.
At least there wasn’t anyone to see them. Thank Primus for small mercies.
But after the novelty of seeing all of their protoform died off, in settled the boredom. Sunstreaker merely pulled out his drawing pad again and set to sketching, but he was always better equipped to handle not having anything to do. Sideswipe watched for a while as the shape of Megatron slowly materialized onto the canvas, but that wasn’t going to entertain him forever. In the end he pulled out a datapad he had some Earth games on, plugged into it, and set to virtually shoot things.
Considerably safer than the real thing, but nowhere near as exciting, either. But eh, beggars couldn’t be choosers. It’d do.
The image of Megatron was almost done and Sideswipe was just about bored of his game when there was a knock on the door a moment before Flatline peeked in. Sideswipe checked his chronometer, and for as many groons as it had taken, it still felt like Flatline had been pretty quick about it.
Not that he was entirely sure how long stuff like this usually took. “I’m done. If you’d come to fit everything on so I can see if anything needs any tweaking.”
“That was fast,” Sideswipe commented despite how much he wasn’t sure if it was fast. They both dropped off the berth and followed after the medic as he retreated from the door back to the repair bay.
“Thank you,” Flatline said, so maybe it really was faster than the average since he wasn’t corrected on the point. Huh.
The lights of the room brightened enough to grant some color vision on top of other sensor readings. Sunstreaker’s engine rumbled in pleasure the moment they set their optics on their retrofitted armor pieces. Everything was missing paint on so many spots, but that was their problem to fix and didn’t come as a surprise.
What was more important was that nothing looked anything like the shape they’d left it to Flatline’s care in. They could still recognize it as theirs, but now it really… It really was theirs. Gone were the rounded edges on everything, replaced by sharp corners and wicked spines and spikes.
And in the midst of it all, Sideswipe could spy the armor of his servos, and the claws that now decorated the tip of every digit—long, sturdy, sharp, dangerous, with not only a menacing point made to pierce, but also a long cutting edge at the bottom.
Just as they were in the Pits. They were made to hurt, rend, damage.
His spark felt fit to vibrate straight out of its chamber and the sparkling sharing the space in Sunstreaker’s core was paying very close attention to the excitement that was bouncing between their two halves. Sunstreaker tried not to show anything on the outside, but his optics were still too bright for normalcy.
Sideswipe didn’t even try to hide it and rushed straight for the armor bits that belonged to him, hovering his servos over them in awe.
Frag.
“This is so awesome,” he breathed as he began to pick the pieces up in reverse order from what he’d removed them in, fitting them in place one by one. They locked in place and merged with his systems, and he could feel the paintless extensions integrate with him—all the edges he barely remembered the feeling of.
Now he could re-experience all of it, and pits, it felt good. He couldn’t get the pieces on fast enough, and Sunstreaker was little better as he fit his own armor over his protoform. The sparkling didn’t understand yet. It had never had a physical body. It didn’t know what it felt like to love your body.
But it would, eventually. For now Sunstreaker could only soothe its confusion, make it focus on just the emotion, and not so much on the source of it.
They weren’t sure if they’d ever redressed themselves this fast, and Flatline took clear pleasure in their eagerness. He directed them to a mirror as soon as they were done, and Sideswipe drank in the sight just as hungrily as Sunstreaker, even if he was the less vain half of them.
They looked like they were supposed to look. That was the root of it—the rightness. They looked every bit as savage as they had once upon a time, like they could go to the Pits right now and fit right in.
Well, aside from the fact they were missing a good portion of their paint jobs.
“Does anything feel off?” Flatline asked as he stared at the both of them critically. They turned in front of the mirror, staring at themselves, staring at each other, drinking in the sight—feeling it.
“My right shoulder feels kinda funny?” Sideswipe eventually said, rotating said shoulder.
“Let me have a look.” The medic wasted no time poking, prodding and tugging at the area, humming to himself. “It’s a bit loose. If you’d take that off so I can tighten it a bit.”
Sideswipe did so, handing the armor back to Flatline and watching as he returned to his workbench.
It barely took any time at all before he was back already. “Try now.”
Now they were talking. Sideswipe grinned at the mirror. “Fits perfect. You’ve got some mad skills on you, mech.”
Flatline huffed. “Thank you,” he said again, turning to Sunstreaker and asking about the fit of his armor too.
Sunstreaker pointed out his thigh and knee, and those came off for some tweaking as well—and again, once they were returned, they fit just like they were supposed to.
Sideswipe still couldn’t stop looking at himself, looking at Sunstreaker, looking at them… He would’ve said there were no traces of Autobot on them anymore, but that wasn’t true.
Flatline had preserved their insignias—scratched out insignias. They still stood on in the middle of their chestplates, a reminder of what they had been—what they weren’t anymore. Megatron’s work right there for everyone to see.
But they didn’t have Decepticon insignias on them either.
Sideswipe mused about that silently for a moment before deciding to just bite the bullet and ask about it.
“Lord Megatron hasn’t said anything about giving you your insignias,” came Flatline’s answer, provided with a shrug. And again there was that, talking as if they already were Decepticons—although maybe in a bit more unofficial capacity than most, if they weren’t given ‘their’ insignias.
Yet. Would that happen at some point too, if they opted to fight for Megatron? Would they become officially Decepticons? Officially enemies of their former faction, instead of just being suspended between the two sides, nominally Neutrals?
Except there wasn’t really being true Neutral when carrying the sparkling of one side’s fragging leader.
And… There was one other Autobot thing about them. “I have your fangs and other dental pieces too,” Flatline, and Sideswipe couldn’t contain his squee.
“Those too?” His voice was way too high, wasn’t it? But slaggit, his fangs.
Flatline just grinned at him. “Of course. They were part of your designs. Would you lay down for me so I can fit them in?”
That wasn’t even a thing worth asking. Sideswipe all but flew to the nearest berth and laid down on it, the medic only fetching the pieces of denta before coming to him. He didn’t need to ask Sideswipe to open his mouth, or for him to unlock his denta. Flatline’s field was amused, but he didn’t say anything as he simply removed the denta that had been fitted in to replace his rightful ones too long ago.
Flatline did the opposite, slotting in the flat razors first, and then, four fangs far too long and sharp—just how Sideswipe liked them. He was way too eager to lock those in once the medic said he was ready, and barely waited for permission to get up before he had already returned to the mirror, this time to inspect his mouth.
Most of his denta didn’t look dangerous, never had, and weren’t meant to. You couldn’t see the cutting edges they were.
But his canines. Pits, those looked menacing in all kinds of ways, and sank into the slots in his mouth always made just for them, except for the longest time there had been nothing to fit into those spaces.
Now there was.
He almost missed it when Sunstreaker laid down too. “And four triple-canines for you,” Flatline said, brandishing those dental pieces before repeating the process on Sunstreaker’s mouth—sans the razor bits. Sunstreaker had never had those, nor did he want them.
He enjoyed chewing a bit too much.
Sideswipe would happily give up his ability to chew a damn thing if it meant his bite was absolutely devastating. Maybe he’d even remember how to not snip his own glossa clean off!
And just like that, they both had their fangs back. Sunstreaker joined him in admiring their new-old dental configurations.
Slag. This was almost too good to be true. They were so un-Autobot, again.
It felt damn good.
Flatline watched them take everything in for a while before he spoke up, kind of but not really interrupting them. “If everything fits as it should, Sunstreaker, I’d like to check you and the sparkling.”
Sunstreaker didn’t put up a fight about that, just nodded and laid down on the berth Flatline pointed out. The medic plugged in and Sideswipe stood to the side—still sorta maybe admiring every bit of himself—as he worked through Sunstreaker’s systems, inspecting things, running tests, taking readings. Predictably Sunstreaker was asked to bare his spark sooner rather than later, too, which he did without complaint, though a little tensely.
But Flatline didn’t do anything untoward, just scanned the sparkling and performed a visual inspection on the little thing that honestly wasn’t so little anymore. “It looks to be growing healthy and strong. Congratulations for that. Nothing seems off; the frame’s coding is progressing as it should, too. You’ll have a hearty sparkling in your hands soon enough.”
“How soon?” Sunstreaker asked, closing his chestplates back up when Flatline signaled he had no more interest in his spark or internals.
Flatline paused for a moment, presumably looking at the readings he’d just taken before answering, “Three deca-cycles, I’d say.”
That was… Not the longest time, but still pretty long to spend in a base that had barely any energy in its use. Even now the lights were dimming back down, making optics next to useless. Sunstreaker nodded all the same. Not like they had much of a choice, and really, if they wanted the sparkling to stay safe, then this… Was the best option.
They’d just have to deal.
“How do we know it’s starting to separate?” Sideswipe asked as Sunstreaker sat back up and swung his legs to the floor.
Flatline laughed lightly. “Oh, trust me, you’ll know. It’ll hurt like the pit. Spark pain, you know how intense that can be.”
“...Nice,” Sideswipe commented. Sunstreaker dragged a servo down his face, not really… Looking forward to that. As familiar as they were with pain, physical pain couldn’t even hold a candle to spark pain. And sure, they suffered from chronic spark pain—yaaaay split-spark—but somehow they doubted even that was going to compare to having the sparkling sever the bond to its carrier. Bondmates didn’t have a habit of surviving their partner’s death.
And they were going to experience the breaking of a bond, even if it wasn’t that of mates.
So, that couldn’t be fun!
“Right,” Sunstreaker sighed all the same, already resigning himself to that future, what with it being completely inevitable.
“Just let me know once it starts,” Flatline instructed them. “I’d prefer to supervise the process, especially considering you’re only half-spark. One of split-spark twins getting ignited isn’t very well documented.”
“Will do,” Sideswipe promised.
There was a beat of silence before the medic nodded. “You’re free to go, if you have no other questions. If something comes up at any point, you know who to call. I hope.”
Sideswipe snickered. “You, I’m guessing. Thanks. And extra thanks for the retrofits, they’re slagging fantastic.”
“You’re very welcome. Now go enjoy them and add some paint on there. If you need more light, you can request a room to be brightened a bit for a limited duration.”
“Noted,” Sunstreaker said, pushing himself off the berth entirely and leading the way to the repair bay’s doors. Sideswipe followed, giving Flatline a wave and another quick, “Thanks!” before they headed back for their quarters.
Time to do some painting, and then figure out how the pit they were going to kill time while staying here.
