A Vmin throwback - 2019 (Part 1)

3 years I have been making this post now, and every year people keep saying Vmin is dead, less close or even fake. I usually say: Do you have eyes?

Vmin surely proved you wrong this time and I think at this point their bond is hard to deny. This post has been really difficult to make, both because of the amount of moments and also because it’s more difficult to find good gifs for everything and I can’t include twitter videos in this type of post. Just know there was a lot of moments I had to skip.

2019 was the year of the pig, aka. the year of everyone born 1995. So in this year of Vmin of course they have given us plenty of moments to gush about. In fact despite the break we have gotten spoiled with a lot of really great Vmin moments. So without much further ado let’s get this started!

There is a lot more Vmin under the cut. You have been warned.

I will cheat a little and start with Taehyung’s birthday bomb, which wasn’t released until 2019. Vmin were very cute in it.

The first time I saw this I couldn’t believe it. Who looks at someone like that while they are feeding them?

The year started of with a lot of good Vmin selcas, but even though we might not have gotten many tweets in total what we did get was still great!

And don’t you all dare forget that Jimin posted this the day after Valentines!

Then admittedly we had nothing in terms of selcas for almost the rest of the year, but thankfully Jimin came through and tweeted for Taehyung’s birthday.

Something big they did this year was of course making songs! Jimin released Promise right at the end of 2018 and Tae (the best photographer) provided the cover photos.

One month later Tae released Scenery. But not without Jimin accidentally spoiling it first.

He was very apologetic about it.

They both supported each other a lot and gave us a lot of cute moments in relations to their songs.

Jimin even sang Scenery and basically just promoted and loved it a lot. But even that was nothing compared to what was to come... I am talking about Winter Bear of course, which Jimin loves so much and has promoted more than anything ever before.

He did three vlives in a row where he gushed about the song and promoted it, and even told us stories about him and Taehyung.

He also mentioned how he wanted to keep the song and his friend (Taehyung) to himself. The name of the first Vlive was even Say hello to me, a line from the song. Basically Jimin is both supportive and possessive in regards to Taehyung.

He sang it constantly and told us he listened to it every night falling asleep to it and even dreaming about it.

True love and support right there! He also gifted Tae the two bears he used on the cover.

Movin on let’s look at the Run episodes of this year, because as usual they provided us with tons of Vmin moments.

It’s actually kind of overwhelming so I had to skip a lot because right off the bat they just...

First Run episode of the year and we already were in for a great start! And who knew we would get to see Vmin hold hands for minutes? I mean, Vmin seems to just have glued their hands together this year.

Stick to my side might as well be the Vmin slogan of the year. :P

And Run just kept on giving…

Tae wants Jimin to be sexy. But not too sexy….

Of course they also took selcas we will never get to see…

And some we did get to see…

The Canada episodes truly blessed us.

We even got to see Vmin share a bed for the first (but not the last) time, even if I don’t have a pic included.

They don’t even have to be on the same team...

Or even win… They still somehow congratulate each other.

Wo do love Vmin on the same team though.

They have both just seemed really happy and carefree this year!

I don’t even know how many times Jimin has said I love you to Taehyung this year… But it’s a lot.

Actually we have seen Jimin trust Tae a little too much.

But let’s move on, because we have much more to go through. This year we actually got some really good vlive moment from Vmin (besides the ones for Winter Bear I mean.). It started with the Grammy vlive.

We had Vmin doing, something… In the Hobi birthday Vlive.

And not soon after we got the infamous Rkive Vlive. Showing us some of the weirdest Vmin behaviours yet.

The clinginess is a lot… I see why they might avoid Vlives alone, because they can’t even behave when they are with someone.

I already mentioned the Winter Bear vlives.

The year also ended well with some nice Vmin from Jin’s Bday Vlive.

We of course also had a comeback with Boy with Luv that Taehyung made sure to add some Vmin to right away.

And Vmin really made sure to make this their song. Love is nothing stronger...

We also can’t forget the Lights MV.

And then for the tour. Obviously we got a ton of Vmin moments.

Special shoutout to Hong Kong.

I mean tours are always good, but the amounts of hugs and happy Vmin.

Tae holding Jimin’s hand to comfort him in Brazil when Jimin was sick and couldn’t sing well.

We also got Tae comforting Jimin in London.

And with this sweet moment, that I was lucky enough to see live, let’s end this post. It’s too long anyways, and will likely crash for many of you. As you may know I started this post in late 2019 but had so much trouble making it as Tumblr didn’t want to save my changes. I tried to remake it several times and at some point just gave up.

Then, I realized that the post is too long anyway and I might as well just post what I had if it managed to save the end part. Meaning this text here. So basically all of this post except this ending part was written and put together years ago. I know it says part 1, but I am not sure there will be a part 2 considering the problem with long posts. Just know 2019 was a great year for Vmin (as every year is), and that I didn’t even get to include everything (note the absence of Bon Voyage for example). But finally it is done! I am so glad it saved this part and the tags. T_T

ANYWAY, eli, u truly are the queen of my heart and the past few months with you have been a blessing. it’s been long since i felt so close to someone who im not physically close to, you know?

we’ve shared so many things with each other, thoughts, memories, important moments in our lives, memes (esp that), reaction memes with a lot of hearts, pics of namjoon and jin, bread... and i loved all of it!!

Princely Neighbor {Jin x Reader}

Prompt: Your son is sick and what better person to take care of him than your lovely neighbor?

You woke up to crying. Very loud crying. You immediately shot up from you bed, scurrying out of your room and into your son’s room. You found him sitting up in bed, crying his eyes out, his face red, and panting.

“Jinwoo!” You immediately hugged your son, letting him sob on your shoulder. “Sweetie, it’s going to be okay. Just lay in bed.” Tucking your son into bed, you placed your hand on his forehead. He was burning hot, and his face was contorted in pain.

“What am I going to do?” You muttered. You scurried out of the room and took out your cell phone, quickly calling your usual babysitter.

“Ah hello! I’m really sorry that it’s such short notice, but I was wondering if you were able to take care of Jinwoo today? Oh....It’s okay. If you’re busy then there’s nothing that can be done...thank you, I’ll see you in two days!”

As you hung up the call, you scrunched up your brows. You just didn’t know what to do. You had to do an important presentation at work, and you couldn’t afford to miss it. Your boss had already chewed your head off for skipping so many days of work because you had to take care of Jinwoo. And the daycare couldn’t take care of him, he doesn’t have the energy to go out.

You were so focused on trying to find a solution for everything while trying to get medicine and tea for your son, you didn’t hear a knock on the door. It wasn’t until the person knocked a couple more time did you notice the noise. You quickly scurried over.

“Hel-Oh Jin! Good morning! What are you doing here?”

Kim Seokjin, your lovely neighbor for the past year just gave you a smile. He had a box of food in his hand, ready to give it to you. Though, he immediately saw your stressed out faced and grew concerned in a second.

“I just wanted to stop by, give you a meal since I know you have your presentation today. What happened? Are you okay?”

“It’s just Jinwoo,” you took the meal out of the taller man’s hands and ushered him inside. “He’s sick, and I’m trying to find someone to look after him today. Or I’ll probably just call my boss and tell him I can’t make it. I’m sure I won’t get into too much trouble. Oh I don’t kn-”

“I’ll take care of him for you Y/n.”

You stopped. Your eyes slightly widened as Jin started making his way towards Hyunsoo’s room, with you following after him.

“I can’t ask you to do that Jin. I’m sure you’re busy today.”

“Actually,” Jin turned to face you with a small smile, “I have a free day today. Let me look after him. He knows me and I’ll make sure to update you every hour.”

You were about to protest, but Jin’s strong gaze made you close your mouth. You mouthed a small thank you before getting ready for work. You had hoped he didn’t see the small blush forming on your cheeks. You stepped into your son’s room, seeing Jin already taking care of Jinwoo.

Jin turned his head to face you, giving you a small smile, “Go. I’ll be fine with him. Go do your presentation and if anything happens, I’ll call you.”

“Thank you so much Jin, I really can’t thank you enough.” You gave Jinwoo a quick kiss before you left.

It’s been such a long day and all you wanted to do was take care of your son. You’ve been so worried throughout the day, but luckily it didn’t affect how you did your presentations. Your boss approved of your presentation and let you off a bit earlier than usual. It was a good feeling, knowing you did such a good job and received a reward for it. You practically ran back to your apartment.

The apartment was quiet as you walked in. No sound of a stove on or a pan frying. The t.v. and lights were turned off all in the house. You grew worried, your mind immediately going to the worst scenario.

“Jin? Jinwoo? Are you two home?” You headed to your son’s room. The door was slightly open, so you walked in, feeling around the the wall for the light switch. When the light switched on, you were blessed with a precious sight.

Jin and Jinwoo were both napping. Jin’s legs were sticking out from under the sheets. Jinwoo had rested his heat on Jin’s chest, curling up next to him. He was still sniffling, and his nose was running a bit, but you could see that he was feeling a lot better than he was in the morning. The sight of those two swelled your heart with joy. You couldn’t help, but take a picture of it. So, as you put your phone up to snap a picture, you forgot to take out the flash, which woke up Jin. He was confused for a second, but you saw him look at Jinwoo first. He swept away a bit of his hair that was falling on his eyes. Jin had made sure that Jinwoo was covered up before he looked to the other side. His eyes widened once he saw you there, and he quickly tried to get out of the bed, trying not to wake Jinwoo up. Though, before he managed to get out, Jinwoo had held on to the back of his shirt.

“Appa...stay.”

Jin’s eyes widened once he heard your son say those words. He wasn’t expecting him to say this. Though, Jin would be lying if he said he wasn’t thrilled that your son grew fond of him. He quickly took a stuffed animal and slid it to Jinwoo, who let go of Jin’s shirt and wrapped his arms around the toy. The little boy snuggled up against the toy and only took a few moments before he was back asleep.

Once Jin was sure that Jinwoo was safe and covered up, he finally turned to face you. His heart raced just looking at your face. Even though he knew you were in shock, your beauty still radiated.

‘Okay, so do I address the face that Jinwoo called me Appa? Or should I just let it go? Would Y/n like that? What is she feeling?’

Jin slowly walked towards you, making sure not to make a lot of sound, so as to not wake up Jinwoo. He gestured you out of the room.

“So, Y/n, how was work? I hope the presentation went well.” Jin had decided that he’ll let you bring up what happened in the room instead. If you didn’t like it, you would let him know.

Your shoulders relaxed just a bit as you let a smile grace your features, “My boss loved it. And he let me out an hour early. I hope Jinwoo was too much trouble for you.”

Jin laughed, “Not at all, Jinwoo is a sweet kid. I made sure he was covered throughout the day. He slept a lot, but I made sure he ate some of my special chicken soup. He seemed to feeling better, and I guess I got tired too.” He rubbed the back of his head, giving you a small smile. “Oh, and I also made dinner for you too. You work hard having to take care of Jinwoo all the time, so I thought I would at least help with dinner.”

“You really didn’t have to Jin, but thank you. Your cooking always amazes me. Thank you so much for today, I really appreciate it. And...I’m sorry about what Jinwoo said. He’s just really tired and...”

Jin waved his hands, “No, no. It’s fine really. Actually,” Jin stopped thinking over his words before he says them, “I wouldn’t mind if Jinwoo started getting closer to me. I mean...I really like you Y/n. You’re a beautiful woman inside and out. Your son is an amazing child and he takes after you a lot. Being your neighbor for the past year, and being your friend has been the best. If you would let me, I’d like to be more involved in your life, as a partner. But only if you want to, that is.”

While appearing confident, Jin’s insides were shaking. He felt like he was going to hurl as he saw the look of confusion on your face. He immediately regretted his idea of speaking out and couldn’t bare to hear your rejection.

“Jin,” You said. Your heart was thumping and you felt your cheeks heat up. “I love my son and I will only do whatever is best for him. But I know that you take care of him so much. And he always talks about you all the time. He even asks when you’re going to come over to cook.”

You both laughed a bit and you scooted closer to Jin, “I’m sure he’ll be happy to see you over a lot more. And I’ll be too.”

A weight was suddenly lifted off of Jin’s shoulders. He went up to you and lifted you in the air. You both laughed as Jin became much more relaxed. Finally, he was able to make you and Jinwoo more happy. He can help you a lot more. Once he finally set you down, you could see the giant smile that ran across his face.

“Let’s heat up your dinner. And I’ll check up on Jinwoo while you eat. It should be about time for his medicine anyway.”

You nodded as you saw Jin make his way to Jinwoo’s room. You smiled to yourself and sighed.

‘I can’t wait to see what life will be now.’

Before I start, let me just say my memory has greatly deteriorated these past couple years prob coz of anxiety issues lol so I’ll try to remember otherwise I’ll make something up (lol jk)

very first bias: the one who first caught my eye - I remember this haha - was Jongup and this was from looking at some fansign pics from Matrix era. I guess in that way, he was my first bias? Idk. I didn’t really get into them then, it was around Carnival era when I really was smitten...with Yongguk...forever...idk any youngjae bye

first mv: One Shot - again, when I watched it, it was way before I got into them, my loss TT (I thought the MV was really intense and decided I liked lighthearted things better but now I’m all about dark intense emo BAP I’ll never turn back)

INFINITE

very first bias: Sunggyu (also current Sunggyu in case anyone missed that...also Woohyun and Myungsoo AND EVERYONE)

first mv: I don’t remember lol I remember watching a bunch of them together - it really took me a while to watch their MVs (I was only all about Sunggyu’s solos and didn’t want to get into Infinite lol kill me) and get into their music but look where I am now... I think the first thing I watched was their Weekly Idol episodes, after I watched Sunggyu’s solo Weekly Idol appearances...and then it was downhill from there

very first bias: either Jimin or Jin when I got to know them (current is Jimin) - I guess first impression was Taehyung? The first MV that really made me concentrate on their looks was War of Hormone and he really caught my eye, but also Jhope...but also Namjoon - ok fuck it see I can’t remember

first mv: Dope - I couldn’t really tell who was who but was so amazed by their dancing

this bulletpoint won’t go away so let me just say here that although hobi and yoongi are my bias wreckers, so is Jin kind of...I mean he is the funniest member @ me only if you agree

very first bias: Eunkwang because of WOW - see next bulletpoint (current is Minhyuk and that other one whose name starts with Fun and ends with sik)....anyway watch Wash Away by Minhyuk and be blown away like I was, I still scream about it to anyone who shows a remote interest in BTOB...TT my lovely rap vocal king

first mv: I think it was WOW - they all looked really good but Eunkwang! Really looked so charismatic and he still does in anything that’s an MV and not a reality show lolol. I love him, funniest leader of a bunch of memes. RLY LOVE THEM

very first bias: I think it was Jooheon? Not sure about this one. There was that clip of Minhyuk waking him up - that was my first exposure to MX and I just thought he was sooo cute, and then I watched No Mercy and he was so confident and lovely and well I’m not gonna talk about that show anymore because cryfest (current bias is Kihyun dat cutie)

first mv: I don’t remember honestly? I think it was Hero but I know I didn’t really get into them until I watched All In. But anyway bless Hero Rooftop version (also watch all their special MVs coz blessss fuccking bless)

Beast/Highlight

very first bias: Junhyung - watched him on a Weekly Idol special ep (also current) - how can anyone resist him I don’t know? (fun fact: I watched Let’s Eat 1 and 2 (starring Doojoon) before I knew much about Beast and I had no idea he was a boy group member and I was very...shook...when I..found out...lol...I still see him as his character in the dramas

first mv: I think it was Fiction? but the one I remember watching was Gotta Go To Work - such a nice and soft MV

Day6

very first bias: Brian/YoungK (also current) - because of this fancam, kills me everytime just lookkkk at his face in the first 5 seconds and tell me you don’t love him TT

first mv: Congratulations (I think? that’s all that was out early last year right? idk...anyway I got more into them since Letting Go)

Got7 (I don’t really follow them much at all anymore but they were one of my first groups)

very first bias: Probably Jackson...I think...since I came across him first thanks to Namjoon, and he is the sunshiniest of sunshines (current is JB)

first mv: If You Do - where everyone looked A+++ (also their best MV and song don’t @ me...really not impressed with their music overall)

Idk if I should do anymore groups that I have biases for, I don’t know them that well but if you’re curious you can ask and I will be supremely vague and confusing :)

BTS feels (that no one asked for)

this is a mess and disorganized and full of feels but oh well and kinda long

Lol k so I went to The Wings Tour in Newark Day 2. And I deadass had tickets the farthest away you could be like if I reached behind me that was the wall and if I reached up it was the ceiling. But that didnt matter because it was still amazing af.

First. BTS appearing literally like watered my crops and made me skin clear, etc. Not Today was absolutely amazing and the energy in the room was so great. Then they did their opening mention which was really cute will all the members trying their best to introduce themselves and speak in english.

Also let me tell you “I’m your angel...I’m hour hope.... I’m J-hope” is like the best thing my ears had heard in like a year and a month ok like wow (previous best thing was like any word sehun spoke in my presence)

Then they did Am I Wrong which has a fucking lit af choreo and I was like damn BTS get it

Another side note: because I was up so high I could really easily see formations and stuff and damn that was so cool to see... especially for I Need U

Anyway then they did solo performances with a few other songs from the Wings album mixed in.

Kookie - Ok let me tell you this kid can sing... this kid can dance like holy crap watching his legs was giving me an existential crisis because how can someone move that fast idk man but one he did so well

Jimin - Lie is probably my favorite of the songs for the solo performances. I just love the music piece so much and Jimin freaking killed it omg. I love the choreo so much and he sang so well and wow

Namjoon - This was probably the most low key of all the solos. But it was also one of the most impactful for me. He put a lot of emotion into his performance and you could tell. And one of my favorite parts was when he says “ I wish I could love myself” and the crowd responded “ We Love You” every time, in unison, and it was so beautiful but yes

Yoongi - Ok this performance almost made me cry. I respect Yoongi so much. he has gone through so much to get to where he is and he really put his heart and soul into the performance he gave and you could see the emotion on his face and damn like my soul was snatched

Jin - This was an absolutely beautiful performance. Jin is a beautiful person and he put so much emotion into his singing. My ears were blessed, my eyes were blesses, my soul was touched. Man I love Jin lol appreciate him more guys

Tae - Ok this kid and his vocal range I cannot. He absolutely SLAYED the stage while he was on it. He was having a lot of fun and damn that kid can sing. Bless him

Hobi - Ok no one can tell me Hobi is anything other than the fucking sun. He was constantly running around and jumping and smiling and having fun not only during his solo but throughout the whole concert. It was so uplifting to see him being so energetic and it fed the audience so well. Bless him omg he is seriously so precious and damn

Cypher pt 4 slayed my soul and I'm dead that is all

The Medely of their old songs was also really cool. Those are the songs that brought me into kpop and it was so special for me to be able to see them and hear them live. Especially Boy in Love. And the audience was absolutely amazing singing and raping along with the members. They were having fun walking around the stage and interacting with fans and it was amazing to see.

Boy Meets Evil was the performance I was looking forward to most and HOLY CRAP J-HOPE FUCKING SLAYED OMG LIKE DAMN. Everyone appreciate him more because he is so talented and damn. Like kicking over his shoulder and stuff omg

B, S & T was amazing and I don't wanna talk about it because I cannot fathom the epicness

Outro: Wings. This was amazing af. The crowd was so into it and singing, they were into it so much and it was great lol idk how to put it into words. And then there was an added portion for a dance thing or whatever where they all went and did something stupid and MIN FUCKING YOONGI LIKE DROPPED IT LIKE IT WAS HOT and omg I was blessed and laughing so hard and damn

The fan project was absolutely beautiful and I am so happy to have been able to participate in it. (The rainbow if you don't know look it up on twitter or ask for a pic from me) You could tell the members were really touched (because they said so and their faces said so and omg) and I love the sense of community that came with it.

The ending meant ( I’m gonna talk about yoongi, jimin, rap mon) almost made me cry. First of all Jimin, bless his lil heart “I’m so touched by your love” in near perfect english and probably on the verge of tears. I almost lost it myself. Then Yoongi “You guys are the reason my dream is coming true”. That sentence is something I will remember forever. I cannot put into words how proud I am of him and how privileged I feel to be able to help fuel his dream. And then Rap Mon. He loves the fans, and he frequently speaks of music being universal, which could not be more true. He taught the crowd the word 함께 (hamkke) which means together. And that truly is what we are. He was talking about how you are never truly alone and I believe that message is so so important. The other members were really grateful as well.

Two! Three! Still Wishing There Will be Better Days gave me so many feels because the audience was singing along and omg it was beautiful

Spring Day was beautiful ok like wow

after the last song they were walking around the stage and waving and stuff and J-hope and Jimin and Rap Mon and Yoongi were making sure to wave to every section (including mine in the nose bleed section) , later once they moved back to the main stage Tae and Jin and Kookie were waving everywhere too and it was great. You could tell they didn't wanna leave yet and the crowd didn't want them to leave either.

After it was all said and done there was the little credits thing with Yo uNever Walk Alone playing on it and man you really don't ever walk alone.

I got to meet quite a few people at this concert. 4-5 of my internet friends who I had never met before were there and the people I was sitting around were absolutely lovely. I love kpop concerts so much because of the community and if you ever talk to me it will usually be the first thing I say. The second thing I will say is that there is almost nothing more magical than being the direct source of inspiration and motivation and the direct fuel of these people who you love. For me especially these people saved my life and I cannot thank them enough for that and being able to support them is truly a privilege for me. My voice is still gone from singing along so loudly and I wouldn't change a thing.

This concert, along with the other two I have been to and the one I will be going to in April are my best memories and some of my best experience and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

And now that I am all emo and you probably are too I am gonna go get some ice cream and cry a little
