The next morning you both woke up together and when you two looked at each other both of you couldn’t help but smile. You both had sweet passionate sex and finally confessed your feelings for one another and you couldn’t be happier. Now that you all had officially confessed and officially became a couple. As you were laying there looking at each other and enjoying the moment the sudden realization of having to go to work you both were like a freight train. You sighed and he looked at you. “Is there something wrong?” He asked as he put a piece of untamed hair behind your ear.
“We have to start getting ready for work.” You said and he nodded but then you remembered that you didn’t have any of your clothing here and that made your face fall, Antonio noticed this.
“What’s up with the frown?” He asked
“I don’t have any of my clothing here or necessities here.” You said and he chuckled.
“I’m sure we can make something work. I also have an extra toothbrush.” He said and then as much as you didn’t want to you both rolled out of bed. It was a good thing you didn’t wear any makeup. As Antonio stood up you looked at his back and giggled and that made him turn around with a raised eyebrow. “What’s so funny?” He asked you.
“I really did a number on your back.” You said and he went into the bathroom and you followed him. He looked into the mirror and shook his head.
“These just show that I made you feel good and I will wear them proudly.” He said turning around and kissing you and then you got your reflection in the mirror and saw the deep bruising on your neck and gasped, you pulled away from him.
“How am I supposed to cover these up?” You asked him and he shook his head and came up behind you wrapping his arms around you.
“Don’t. It shows that you’re mine and only mine.” He said and you shook your head.
“Antonio.” You said in a warning tone and he looked at you.
“One of the girls might have something to cover them up so you don’t get in trouble.” He said and you nodded. You both got ready for work and this included a shower which you could hear him hiss as the water touched the marks going down his back and that just made you smirk. When it came down to clothing you grabbed one of his shirts and made it work and then threw on your jeans and tucked the shirt into it creating a cute and decent outfit if you must say.
You both ate a little bit of something and then you both were on your way to work. You had also opted for one of his hoodies that was just big enough that it was comfortable. The drive to work was a comfortable silence and he held your hand over the center console. When you arrived at the precinct, he parked right next to your car that was still sitting there. Having to grab something from it you both were heading inside afterwards. As you both walked hand in hand into the building, Trudy looked at you with a raised eyebrow. Antonio just smirked and you hang your head smiling and a blush creeping up on you. She didn’t say a word but you could tell she was thinking by the smirk on her face.
You thought you were in the clear when you didn’t see anyone in the bullpen but you luck had run out when everyone started to filter in from different places one by one. Everyone greeted each other and when Adam went to pat Antonio on the back he hissed and tensed up. Adam, thinking something he did wrong, pulled back and raised his hands “You ok man? It wasn’t that hard of a pat.” He said and Antonio shook his head.
“No, it wasn’t your pat.” He said not wanting to out your relationship quite yet. He said and your face heated up and you wouldn’t look anyone in the eye. “Let’s get to work. Yeah?” He asked as you both scurried away to your desks, thankfully his sweatshirt was covering up your hickeys and they hadn't noticed you wearing his clothing.
It wasn’t a very busy day, just a lot of paperwork that had to be filled out and occasionally everyone would hear Atonio hiss out or grunt in pain and it was concerning a lot of your coworkers. Each time your face would become beat red and you would bury your head into you work. It was starting to get a little warm so you took his hoodie off without thinking and then you heard a gasp and you looked up at Kevin. “Did you get in a fight with an octopus?” He asked and that had everyone coming over to look at you, especially the girls.
“No, Kevin. I just had a very fun eventful night.” You said and then Erin spoke up.
“I bet you did with your neck looking like that. Is that Antonio’s shirt?” She asked and you looked down.
“Is it?” You asked and then Jay was coming over to inspect it.
“That is totally his shirt.” Jay said and you were quiet and so was Antonio. He sat back into his chair and let out a painful hiss and everyone looked at him and they were slowly putting the dots together.
“Wait….” Kim said and everyone looked up at her “Did you two finally confess and sleep together?” She asked and you both kept quiet. You looked at him and they caught that.
“OMG! You did!” Erin said loud enough for everyone in the building to hear.
“Shhhhhhh.” You and Antonio said at the same time. “Keep your voice down.” You both said at the same time again.
“Oh, you’re going to tell us more while Erin and I help you cover this up before Hank sees.” Kim said and grabbed your hand and you 3 girls headed into the locker room. You and Antonio looked at each other and it was a silent cry for help but you both knew you both weren’t going to get out of this so you both let it happen. The boys circled Antonio and the telling began just as the girls sat you down on the bench in the locker room and began the operation of covering up the hickeys.
“How was it?” Erin asked and you smirked and blushed.
“It was great and perfect. He was gentle and the sex was great. I really love him.” You said and they squealed. You told them more but all you could think about was about how Antonio was getting grilled and questioned.
**********************************************
“How was she?” Kevin asked and was met with a hit to the chest and an ‘oof’ was heard from him.
“She was great. I really love her. Those nails of hers can do some damage but it felt great.” He said with a smile thinking of how your night went.
“Man, if she’s leaving scratches down your back that is making you hiss then you’re doing something right.” Adam said and Jay nodded in agreement.
This went on for about 20 minutes until you were walking about out a shade of red and he got up and met you before walking into the bullpen and he grabbed your face and kissed you and you returned it. Oh, yea you love this man with all your heart and he felt the same way. You were both glad you went from colleagues to lovers. In your mind and his you both were the best thing to happen to each other.

Hello beautiful, just wanted to thank for writing stories and giving us reader some of your time. I don't know if you are open for requests but I give it a try. 🤍🙏 I'm in desperate need of a voightx reader fic, angsty hurt and comfort and fluff. Maybe you like my idea or get some inspiration to write something similar.
The reader is working with intelligence and Voight is instantly taken aback by her appearance. She is also attracted to Hank. But they keep their feelings for each other hidden. One night the goes out for drinks and in their tipsy state the reader and Hank make out.... The next day Voight is giving her the silent treatment and is also cold and unfriendly to her, just ignoring the fact they kissed. His unfair behavior goes on for days until she gets him to talk to her, telling her that is was was mistake and she should move on leaves her feeling more hurt and heartbreak than ever. The situation is also taking a physically toll on her, with no appetite and her deathly sick appearance the team instantly worries.
We all know Voight would think he can't give her what she needs or be good enough fir this kind and beautiful girl.
Later on there's a guy hitting on her and Voight pushes her to date the stranger (secretly dying from jealousy, but believing another man can give her all she needs). The date ends catastrophic when she realizes that the guy drugged her, secretly and in panic she calls voight in her dizzy and weakening state and manages to tell him the bar they're currently. Not able to defend herself in her drugged state the guy is able to drag her to his car in the parking lot. She's struggling and fighting for her life, he gets frustrated and beat her up..... Voight comes just in time and keeps the guy from kidnapping her. Nearly conscious and beaten Hank takes her to his house to attend her injuries and to take care of her. Some fluffy end in which he admits his feelings for her... 🤍🙏
Currently I am sucker for caretaker fics, with sick and hurt reader. The intelligence team would be soo cute taking care and at a Hank Voight who hides his feelings and worries for the girl just get me 😍
I am soooo sorry for this long request, but I have this idea in my head since forever and I just needed it to share, in desperate hope a talented writer might create a good story. Don't hesitate to tell me if this sucks.
Lot's of love 🤍

"Hey Boss, the new recruit is here." Antonio called out to Voight, as he walked you to your new desk. Dropping your bag to the side, you pulled off your coat.
"Thank you Detective, I appreciate your help." Smiling, Antonio nodded his head,
"Call me Tonio, everyone else does. Come on, we can get you some coffee, you're gonna need it." Nodding, you followed him to the break room. Tonio gave you the rundown of the most recent case the team was working on. A gang was currently running drugs through the city, and the intelligence unit was still unsure of how they were managing to go undetected.
"Wow... that sounds like a lot. You know, I worked a case once where a gang was using the postal service to distribute their drugs. The leaders brother used to work for them, and kept a master mailbox key." Antonio looked surprised,
"Huh... that... could actually be plausible."
"'TONIO!" Whipping his head round, he watched as Voight stalked in, a deep frown on his face.
"I thought you said the new starter was... here..." His voice trailed off as his gaze focused on you. You felt your breath leave you, as though you had been gut punched. You'd been told a lot about Voight, had been told what a hardass he was. Never taking no for an answer, scaring off more teammates and pissing off coworkers more than anyone else in the CPD. What you wasn't prepared for, was for how handsome he was. Yes, he was at least twenty years older than you but you couldn't help yourself, you let your eyes roam over him. From his boots, all the way to the black button down shirt with a black leather jacket over the top.
Clearing his throat, Antonio stepped forward.
"Boss this is (Y/N). I've already brought her up to speed with the case, and she's actually given a decent idea of how the drugs could be being moved around the city." Antonio frowned, looking at Voight, and then to you.
"Boss?"
"Huh... yeah?" Clearing his throat, Voight gave a tight smile and held out his hand.
"Nice to meet you (Y/N), glad you're all caught up." Averting his gaze, he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Uh... Tonio, I need you to run down a lead. It's the one that Ruzek brought us yesterday, take the newbie." Looking back up at you, he gave a small smile and quickly turned around heading back to his office.
"Um... he seems... intense." Your voice sounded shaky. You quickly took a large gulp of coffee, wincing as it scolded your throat.
"Yeah he um... I think he's a bit stressed right now." Tonio frowned, then quickly smiled.
"Okay, let's go." Striding back out, you grabbed your coat and badge. Risking a quick glance behind you, you saw Voight in his office watching you.
--------------------------------------
The case took a nasty turn. The gang that was peddling drugs, seemed to have looped kids into their dealings. Picking the weak and neglected kids whose parents wouldn't give a shit as to their whereabouts. You kept your head down, working hard and not getting underfoot. Learning the ways and methods the team worked, but you could start to feel the pressure of this case sinking into your bones. You felt angry that innocent kids were being used, and made to believe that they were cared for. You rubbed your face, the night had settled around you causing the light from your screen to become harsh to your eyes.
"Hey (Y/N), it's late. Come on, we're all going for a drink." Glancing up, Halstead smiled from his desk as everyone else pulled on their coats, shutting down their computers. huffing out a sigh your stretched.
"Yeah sure... okay sounds good."
You all headed to Molly's, grabbing a booth in the back you sat and powered through a few beers. As the mood lightened, jokes started to fly around along with casual conversation. Soon you found yourself laughing at Ruzek and his ridiculous stories.
"There room for one more?" Glancing behind you, you found Voight staring down at you intently. Swallowing hard, you nodded and shifted your chair over.
"Sure thing Boss." Voight grabbed a chair and sat next to you.
"Thanks, and when we're not on shift, you can call me Hank." Smiling, you took a sip of your drink. Feeling more confident, mainly because of the ten or so beers flowing through you, you leant in closer to Voight.
"Thanks. So... Hank... how has your day been?" Smiling, Hank watched you for a moment, then lent in further.
"Well it has been busy... but I think we are making good progress, and the drinks are certainly helping right now." With that he took a large gulp of bourbon, causing a colour to rise in his cheeks.
The night continued, with the team drinking and laughing. The more you drank, you found yourself relaxing into your seat which incidentally lead to you leaning further into Hank. You enjoyed the warmth that came from him, the smell of his cologne, the deep laugh that vibrated out of his chest. You tried not to squirm as you felt yourself becoming flushed with excitement.
"Okay guys... I need to get to bed. I'd like it to be at least a month before I drunkenly embarrass myself. " The others laughed and jeered, trying to persuade you to stay as you pulled on your coat.
"I'm gonna head off too, (Y/N) I'll walk you out." Waving bye to everyone, you headed to the door, your mind racing at the thought of Hank being so close behind you. Rummaging in your bag you found your phone, pulling up a taxi app.
"How you getting home?" Looking up, you smiled and showed him your phone.
"I was going to get a cab."
"Ah, don't worry about that I'll give you a ride. Come on."
"Oh you don't have to..."
"I know I don't have to, but I want to. It's late and I can at least know you're safe." Dropping your phone back into your bag, you pulled your jacket closer around you.
"Then lead the way Boss." Smirking at him, as he raised an eyebrow, he lead you across the street to his truck. Climbing in, you sank into a soft leather chair. The air was heavy with Hanks smell, and coffee.
"So... where do you live?" Shutting the door behind him, Hank started the truck and turned on the heater. Giving him your address, you pulled your seatbelt on. The drive was quiet, but not uncomfortable. Hank maneuvered the truck smoothly through the light city traffic, occasionally asking you questions about your previous jobs. Before you knew it, you were outside your house. Stopping the truck, he placed his arm behind your chair, quietly watching you.
"Thank you, Voight. I appreciate the lift."
"You're welcome sweethear'." You felt a heat creep over your face at the endearment. You dropped your gaze not wanting him to see.
"Well um... goodnight. I..." Before you could finish your sentence, Hank had tilted your face up, his hand remaining under your jaw.
"Just... a taste." You blinked and felt as his lips pressed against yours. Moaning quietly, you reached your hand up grazing the back of his neck. Pulling him in closer to you. You're not sure at what point it happened, but you ended up pulled into Hanks lap, slowly kissing him for what felt like hours. Humming quietly, he pressed his head against yours.
"I um... I should probably go. I need to be fresh for tomorrow... I don't want my boss to get pissed at me." Smiling, Hank let you shift out of his lap and into the passenger seat again.
"I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bright and early boss." Climbing out you headed into your house, Hank remaining outside until you had locked your front door. Hank rubbed his face and pulled his truck out onto the main road. What the fuck had he done.
-------------------------------------------
The next morning Hank got to the office bright and early. He didn't want to be disturbed by anyone. This case was starting to piss him off, and he didn't want to fuck around chasing any more dead beat leads. He noticed as the rest of the team trickled in, all of them having a haggard look that suggested they'd all drunk a bit too much last night. He noticed how you watched him through the blinds of his office, like you was waiting for him to call you in for a chat. He probably should talk to you, but he just couldn't do it right now. He was too pissed at himself to even consider having a civilised conversation.
He made sure he kept busy for the rest of the day, he didn't want to speak to anyone unless needed. He chased down lead after lead until he managed to find one that was promising. After ten hours, and a painful conversation with a local informant, Voight managed to track the ring leader down and haul him and his gang into lockup. He left Antonio and Burgess shutting down the lab, and bagging up evidence.
"(Y/N), with me." nodding quickly, you followed Voight out into the stations car park.
"I'm sorry about last night, I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have kissed you."
"I didn't mind Hank, I actually enjoyed..."
"No... it won't be happening again. I am too old for you, and I won't be able to give you anything that you want. So it's best to just... forget about it okay." It killed him to see the pain and hurt in your eyes.
"Hank I..."
"It was a mistake (Y/N), okay?" He didn't meant to raise his voice, but he saw the anger building in you.
"Not a problem Boss, I've already forgotten." Watching you march back into the building, he groaned inwardly, kicking himself for his tactless approach.
For the next few weeks, Voight watched as you worked alongside the team, effortlessly working leads and solving case after case. He couldn't stand how pale you had become, how when everyone else had lunch you seemed to find a reason not to eat with them.
"(Y/N), eat something will you. I don't want you passing out on shift." Whipping your head round, you glared at Voight as he stalked past you. Grinding your teeth, you forced yourself to answer.
"Sir." Grabbing your coat, you nodded to 'Tonio.
"I'm heading out for some food, want anything?" 'Tonio shook his head,
"Na I'm good, thanks (Y/N)." Nodding, you headed out.
You didn't realise how hungry you were until you were half way through a footlong sub from the local deli. Your stomach ached in protest and delight at the amount of food you were consuming. You couldn't help but think about how Voight had kissed you that night, it had felt glorious. You hadn't dated anyone for a few years, hadn't really had the time. You'd enjoyed your job too much. But when Voight had kissed you, you felt a new rush, a new thrill. Then the fucker had ditched you.
"Asshole." Throwing your rubbish in the bin, you headed back into the office. Taking the stairs two at a time, you wasn't focused on the people around you and you slammed into someone.
"Shit... I'm sorry I wasn't watching." Glancing up you found a guy in front of you smiling.
"(Y/N)! Christ I haven't seen you in years." Focusing on the face attached to the voice, you saw it was Jacob. A guy you had gone through the academy with. Huffing out a breath, you gave a wane smile.
"Hey, Jacob. How you doing?" Nodding, he grinned, stepping closer to you.
"Yeah I'm good thanks, I'm working over with homicide now."
"Sweet." You shifted your gaze, looking up to where you wanted to go. He glanced behind you, eyes going wide.
"Are you... you up in Intelligence?"
"uh-huh."
"Holy shit that is amazing, I've heard Voight is a right hardass... is that true?"
"I can be when pushed." Jacobs eyes widened as he spun round.
"Um... sorry Sir, I didn't mean anything by it." Smirking Voight clapped him on the shoulder,
"Don't sweat it. (Y/N), when you're ready we've got a lead to run down." Turning, Voight headed up the stairs to the rest of the team.
"I should head up." Moving to follow Voight, Jacob caught your arm.
"Hey do you fancy grabbing a drink tonight, after work?" Glancing up the stairs you saw Voight had slowed down, probably trying to over hear your conversation.
"Um... yeah I'll uh... I'll let you know. Big case, not sure what time I'll be finished."
"Yeah... yeah okay sounds good." Heading up the stairs, you caught Voights eye.
"Hey... you dating that guy?" Frowning, you glanced up at him.
"I... no I went through the academy with him. He just asked if I wanted to meet for a drink."
"Hmm... you should go. You're a young woman, you should get out from behind the desk." Watching him closely, you leaned in looking for any hint of a joke.
"You... okay sure, why not." Turning on your heel you marched into the office heading straight to your desk to phone Jacob. If Voight insisted you go, then you'll go. If only you'd turned round, you'd have seen the fury burning in his eyes.
-------------------------------------------
Checking your reflection, you smiled. You'd picked your best emerald green dress, it dipped low at the front and hugged at your hips just right. You felt good for the first time in a while.
"Forget Voight." Grabbing your coat and bag, you headed out the door.
You found Jacob at the bar sipping on a beer, spotting you he grinned.
"Wow... you look amazing!" Grinning, you pulled your coat off and placed it over the bar stool.
"Thank you, you scrub up well yourself." Gesturing to the bartender, you ordered a red wine.
"Cheers." Taking a big sip you smiled. You looked around the bar, seeing all the different people chatting and drinking. You felt yourself relax a bit into your seat.
"So... how's your case going?" Looking up, you were stalled for moment.
"Uh... yeah it's going okay. It's a tough case but we're getting there." You didn't overly want to chat about work, as it reminded you of Voight. Jacob seemed to get the hint as you didn't expand any further on the subject. You sat quietly for a moment, just sipping on your drink. After a while, you both seemed to just relax into a conversation, reliving the academy days minutes passing into hours.
"You feeling okay?" Jacobs voice seemed to pull you out of a blurred moment that you didn't remember going into.
"Hmm? oh... yeah I'm fine, I'm just... gonna head to the bathroom okay?" Smiling, he nodded.
"Okay, well uh... shall we head out after this? Maybe find somewhere to get food?" Standing up, you nodded holding onto your chair for dear life.
"Yeah that's fine." Grabbing your bag, you headed to the bathroom, feeling your legs wobble and your head start to swirl. Pulling in a deep breath, you focused on the toilet door, not wanting to look more drunk than you were.
Pushing open the door, you leant on the sink and stared at your reflection. Your pupils looked blown, but you couldn't tell. You couldn't focus. You tried to remember how many drinks you'd had, tried to remember anything but it was all becoming a hazy dream.
"Shit.." Stumbling into a toilet stall, you locked the door behind you and rummaged in your bag pulling out your phone. You truly hoped you'd punched in the right number.
"(Y/N)?" Hanks voice cut through the phone, relief flooded through you.
"Han..k... I need... come help... been drugged."
"Where are you!" You felt yourself slowly drifting off.
"I... I'm ... bar...South side... bird...bird... Spar..." Your voice drifted off,
"Bird... the Sparrow... you at the Sparrow!"
"Yea... bathro." Your world went black.
Voight drove like a madman, sirens blaring not caring who he cut off in the process. Hold on, please god hold on. The streets were a blur as they flashed past him in a haze of lights and noise. Pulling into the car park, Voight spotted a guy hauling a woman to his car. Stepping out, he recognised it as Jacob. Picking up his pace, he started towards him catching your voice as he got closer.
"No... get off you sick fuck."
"Stop struggling... you know you're going to love it." Hank watched as you swung at him catching him in the mouth, but it didn't stop there. Jacob slapped you, and punched you in the stomach. Hank was at his back within seconds. Grabbing him by the hair, he slammed his face into the side of the car, continuing to punch him as he slid to the ground. He wouldn't have stopped, could have killed him had it not been for your voice calling to him.
"Hank..." Looking behind him, he saw you stirring on the floor blood pouring from your mouth.
"Shit... (Y/N), I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Scooping you up, he carried you to his car putting you in the passenger seat. Peeling out of the car park, he sped away from the bar. Glancing over at you he took your hand,
"Hey, (Y/N) stay awake alright. We're nearly there." You let your head lull to the side, the warm air from the heater and the blow to the head making you sleepy.
"Where's there?" you murmured out.
"Home."
-------------------------------------------
Waking up, your head felt heavy, your vision blurred. Rubbing a hand over your face, you realised you no longer had your dress on but a soft t-shirt with the letter CPD stamped on the chest. Your body ached, and yet you felt content in the soft confines of the duvet.
"Hmm... s'good."
"(Y/N)?" Glancing to the side, you found Voight sitting in a chair next to your bed.
"Hey, um... what am I doing here?" Reaching out, Voight took your hand and held onto it gently.
"You rang me last night, you went out for a drink with the Jacob guy and ah... he um... he spiked your drink." Frowning, you tried to remember but all you could think of was the toilet stall you had sat in.
"I got there just as he was dragging into his car, but you resisted and uh.. he hit you a few times."
"I um... christ I don't remember much I'm sorry Boss. Guess that's why my head hurts hmm?"
"What! No, don't be sorry, that scumbag is the one who should be sorry not you! I'm... I'm just glad I was able to get you out before... well I'm glad I got to you." Smiling you squeezed his hand with yours,
"Thanks Boss."
"'Tonio checked into your boy, and he's not a cop, well not any more at least. He didn't make it passed being a beat cop, he assaulted two women so he got fired." You felt your stomach churn.
"Well... maybe next time I should get you guys to run a background check on whoever I plan on going for a drink with hmm?" Dropping your head back into the pillow you winced as pain flared through your eyes. Looking around the room, you saw that it was rather warm and, oddly enough, cosy.
"We won't need to do that." Voight sounded a little nervous, something you had never thought he could be. Tilting your head, you gazed at him intently,
"And why's that hmm?"
"Because I'm not a creep who preys on women, so you'll be safe."
"Wha..?" Sighing, he shifted out of his chair to sit on the edge of the bed, running his other hand over your hair. It only occured to you now that this was Hanks house, Hanks bedroom, Hanks shirt that you were wearing.
"I shouldn't have encouraged you to go on a date with that guy. What I should have done, was date you myself. But instead I... I got nervous. Nervous that you'd see I wasn't anything but an old, beat up cop too stuck in his ways to make you happy in the ways that matter." Sitting yourself up, you leaned into Voight and kissed him. You wasn't sure how long it lasted, or when he had gently pushed you back leaning into you. Running your hands up his arms, you traced your fingers over his broad back. Breaking away, you pressed your head against his,
"You know, you never even asked what makes me happy. If you'd had just asked, I think we would have saved a lot of time... and spiked drinks." Smirking at him, he shook his head.
"Yeah I know, I'm a dumbass." Laughing at him, you brushed your hand over his jaw.
"I'll let you off, on one condition." Voight raised an eyebrow, and hummed quietly.
" You um... take these jeans off and stay in bed with me for the day hmm?"
"Yes Ma'am, you don't have to ask me twice." Standing he slowly unbuckled his belt, and unbuttoned the jeans. You felt a heat build in your face and stomach. This was going to be... an interesting day.

Just friends
Warnings: Swearing, minor violence
Chapter three
Tumblr media
“Son of a bitch!”
“Stop,” you hiss, smacking Adam’s hand away from your face. “Trust me, I’m fine.”
You had gotten in between two drunken assholes when they started fighting in front of you while you were collecting dirty glasses from tables. You ended up getting punched twice in the face since both men swung at the same time; however, the fight immediately stopped when they realized they’d hit the wrong person.
Two bouncers threw them out, and that was the end of it until Adam got involved. He got riled up, thinking he was going to have both of them thrown in jail.
“Is there a problem here?” Jasper walks into the staff room and says, “I heard there was some kind of altercation.”
“I got caught up in a bar fight; I’m fine.”
Since you were facing Adam, the owner couldn’t see how swollen your eye had become or the blood gushing from your eyebrow.
Adam steps up towards the owner, but before he can say anything, you lightly shove him in the chest, gaining his attention again. “Tommy, I’m fine. Take a walk or go back to work.”
He lowers his head slightly. “I’m sorry, boss, I just hate seeing a woman getting beat on, you know? It sets me off.”
Jasper pats him on the shoulder and says, “I get it.”
At this point, you turn to toss the tissue in your hand into the trash and go to get another one. “I think Angel should go home,” Adam says. “Have you seen her face? It’s a mess.”
“Angel, let me see.”
You turn and look Jasper in the face, and his jaw clenches. You were under no false illusion that he cared for you personally; rather, he cared about how you looked. He makes a tsk sound. “This just won’t do. Princess,” Jasper clicks his fingers at a blonde dancer when she enters the room. “Go and find Gregg for me; tell him I need a word with him. Tommy, go back to work.”

“I’m not excusing him shouting his mouth off.” You top off the whisky in Jasper's glass with your free hand while the other holds ice over your eye. “But one of the dancers told me his dad used to beat on his mom and sister as kids; he was just being protective. Which is more than I can say for the pathetic excuse of bouncers who let a fight like that break out.”
You felt guilty saying that Bob Ruzek was a good man, but you needed a cover story to excuse ‘Tommy’s’ behavior.
“No sweat, baby,” he motions for you to sit beside him. “Have you thought about my offer? More money, fewer late nights.”
“Why did you pick me?”
Jasper chuckles. “You’re the only one in here I trust to have my back.”
Adam and Antonio had been undercover for almost three weeks, and they were so close to making an arrest; they had found the stash house. They now just need to catch him handing the drugs over to his dealers. But now, his newest revelation was something you needed to discuss with Voight as soon as possible.
“Gregg,” Jasper says, standing up.
“The blonde girl said you wanted to see me.”
You hold back a snort. Antonio would go out of his way to call the dancers by their show names; whenever he heard someone being called Princess, Heaven, or Angel, he’d screw his face up.
Jasper pulls multiple twenty-dollar bills out of his pocket and hands them to Antonio. “Take our angel to the emergency room. Make sure they take good care of her.”
Tumblr media
“The bleeding has stopped,” Antonio says, tossing the bloodied cotton ball into the trash. “I don’t think it will scar; just leave a nasty cut for a couple of weeks.”
“Thank you.”
Instead of taking you to the emergency room, Antonio took you back to his apartment to clean up your wound. If you went to the hospital, you’d need to use your real name, which could blow the whole operation if Jasper caught wind.
Antonio disappears from his bathroom and reappears moments later, holding a bag of ice in one hand and a hand towel in the other. He says nothing as he places ice on the material, then holds it up to your swollen eye, causing you to flinch.
“Sorry,” he mumbles.
Your fingers brush against his when you take the ice from him. You felt slightly uncomfortable; Antonio always seems wary of you. As if he’s expecting you to somehow betray him.
He leans back against the wall with his arms crossed. “Do you think Jasper bought the cover story you said about Tommy?”
“I think so. Although Adam looked pretty pissed,”
Antonio motions for you to follow him into the living room. “Can I ask you something? Sorry, gotta take this.”
He walks into a bedroom you presume is his own to answer his mobile and starts talking in Spanish. Every so often, his voice would become louder, so you would assume he was mad at something. You were grateful he cleaned you up but didn’t want to impose, and you would probably leave once his call was finished.
Sitting on the couch, you glance around his apartment and notice the framed pictures on the table. One stands out more than the other; on one side of the frame is a happy-looking young girl surrounded by balloons and banners with the number eighteen on them, and the next one is Antonio standing between the same girl and a young boy with his arms wrapped around them. All three of them were smiling brightly.
Hearing the sound of a door closing, you look up and see Antonio coming out of the bedroom. Before you can say anything, he shoves his phone into his pocket and says, “Sister.”
“Are these your kids?”
He nods.
“They are beautiful.”
He picks up another picture frame and sits down beside you. The kids look younger in this picture, and there is a brunette woman hugging them. “That’s my sister Gabriela, my daughter Eva, and my son Diego.” Smiling, he places the picture back down. “Do you have kids?”
“None biologically, but I’ve been raising my nephew Eli since he was two; he’s just turned seven. The only downside to being undercover is being away from him.”
“Yeah, I get you. When Laura filed for divorce, she took the kids with her, and it killed me. Eva did come and live with me for a while, but she’s now at college, and Diego only stays with me the first two weeks of the month.”
It took you by surprise that he was sharing any personal information with you since you didn’t really know each other.
“Where’s Eli now?”
“In our home with my dad. My dad’s a retired detective; he moved back to Chicago to help me with Eli.” You trace your finger over the thin red bracelet, a friendship bracelet your nephew made. “Is Gabriela your only sister?”
“Just the one sister,” he says. Antonio relaxes his arm over the back of the arm chair. “Gabby is younger than me and is incredibly strong-willed. She is a paramedic firefighter.”
You smile seeing how his face lights up when he talks about her. “Does she work in Chicago too?”
“She did. She moved to Puerto Rico a couple of years ago. Do you have any brothers or sisters?”
“I’m the youngest of three girls. My oldest sister, Cherry, lives in London.”
“What does she do?”
“She’s a sonographer. She moved to England to live with her husband and her stepson.”
“So I’m guessing she’s not Eli’s mom?”
“No, he’s my sister Amber’s son.”
He laughs, “You’re kidding me? Cherry, Amber, and Viola?”
“Yeah, yeah. My mom named us after her favorite colors.”
Antonio senses your change in emotion and, in a lighter tone, says, “So, does Amber live in the city?”
“Amber moved to New York when she was pregnant. She died five years ago.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” he says sincerely. “Eli is lucky to have you; not everyone is willing to raise a kid; that’s not there.”
Before you can respond, your work mobile vibrates in your pocket. You answer the call and put the phone on loudspeaker. “Hey, I’m guessing you got my voicemail?”
“Yeah, I did. You okay? Adam said you got caught in a fight, and Dawson left with you.”
“I’m fine.”
When Hank doesn’t seem to believe you, Antonio speaks up: “Hank, we are sitting in my apartment; the bleeding has stopped.”
“Okay, good. So what was so urgent?”
You lick at your dry lips, mentally reading yourself to share the information you learned right before the fight.

Jay Halstead X Reader
Trigger Warnings: Swearing, kidnapping, blood, violence
Near Death Experience
Tumblr media
It was mid December in Chicago. Jay and Y/N been together almost 3 years now. They met at a bar when Jay stepped in to save her from a drunk who was putting his hands on her when she told the man to stop multiple times.
Jay kissed his sleeping girlfriend on her forehead before he headed to work. The Intelligence unit was working a case involving human trafficking and drug deals gone wrong. They had just received another call about another drug induced homicide.
When Y/N work up, she stretched a little before heading off to take a shower and then get dressed before she had to clock in. After she was done, she grabbed her things and headed to her truck which was near an alleyway. She called Jay’s phone hoping he wasn’t busy.
Jay saw Y/N calling and picked up. “Hey, baby, heading to work?” Jay grinned as he waited for Antonio and Voight.
“Yeah, I just got to my truck. Heading to work now. I just wanted to call you and-“ But Y/N was cut off when someone came up behind her covering her mouth. She screamed. Her screams were muffled.
Jay heard the muffled screams. “Y/N?’ Hello?! Y/N” Jay called again. Then the line went dead.
As Voight and Antonio were coming out, Jay got a text from Y/N phone.
“If you ever want to see her again, stop working the case. And stop trying to play hero, Detective.” -Kidnapper
Jay swore under his breath. “Son of a bitch!!!”
Voight came up. “Jay, hey, what’s going on?” He looked at his partner.
Jay held his phone up. “They got her.” Was all Jay could manage to get out.
Sometime later,
Voight got everyone together. “Jay and I will go check out the apartment and truck. See if we can find anything. Antonio, you and Erin go talk to neighbors. See if they saw or heard anything. Also be on the look out for security cameras.” Voight told everyone.
Jay was quiet as Voight drove. He looked over at Jay. “We will find her, Jay.” He reassured Jay.
Jay sighed. “If I hadn’t left her alone, this wouldn’t have happened.” Jay blamed himself.
When they arrived on scene, Jay started looking around the truck. The door to the driver’s side was open, and he found Y/N’s phone on the ground. Smashed to pieces. He clenched his teeth. There was blood spatters on the ground.
“She must have put up a fight.” Voight studies the blood splatters.
With Y/N,
Y/N woke up on the ground. Her mouth taped shut, her hands and feet bound by tape. She opened her eyes blinking. Blood dripped down the side of her head where she had been hit upside the head near her truck before she was kidnapped. She tried to sit up, but the pain was too much for her to bare. She saw a man open the door, and walked in, locking it behind him. He kneeled down to her, lifting up her chin. “You’ll make the perfect trade.” He smirked, eyeing her up and down. “Once we get you cleaned up of course. Boss man doesn’t want to see you like this.” Y/N rolled her eyes at the guy. She mumbled through the tape.
Back at the Unit,
“Traffic cams manage to pick this up. A man came up behind her while she was talking to Jay. She opened her door up, and that’s when he attacked her.” Erin showed everyone the traffic cam footage. “And, we got a clear shot of his face. Ran it through the database, and we got a match.” She handed the files over to Jay and Voight.
Jay looked over the files. Anger washing over him. “I know him. He’s known for kidnapping women and selling them to sex traffickers. He’s also wanted in three states for capital murder, two drug induced homicides, drugs, assault, and attempted kidnapping.” Jay said.
“And we got a location on the vehicle he transported her in.” Antonio came into the room a few minutes later.
“Alright, gear up.” Voight said, as Antonio texted everyone the address.
Later,
“Let me go!” Y/N screamed and pleaded as she was dragged by her hair into the warehouse. “Shut the fuck up.” The man snarled, throwing her into a container. She screamed as she left in total darkness, her wrists and feet bound by tape. She cries softly, burying her face into her knees. She had black and blue bruises all over her arms and legs. Her eye was swollen, her lip busted. The side of her head was bloody.
Chicago PD surrounded the warehouse. “Chicago PD!” Jay yelled.
The men started firing at the PD. So, they fired back at the men. “Where is she?!”
Jay tackled the felon to the ground. “Where is she?!” He started the beating the shit out of the guy.
Voight motioned to Lindsay and Adam. They searched the warehouse. Adam threw open the container.
Y/N screamed when she saw the door to the container open. She scooted away, burying her face.
“I found her.” Adam called over his shoulder. “It’s okay, Y/N, it’s me, Adam.” He reassured her.
Jay stopped beating the guy. Voight handcuffed him as Jay took off to the shipment container. “Y/N?!”
She heard Jay’s voice and looked up. “J-Jay?!” Tears streamed her cheeks, as he freed her feet and wrists. She threw her arms around him. “It’s okay, it’s okay, I got you.” He cupped her bruised her cheeks. “You’re safe now.” He kissed her head, lifting her up, as he carried her out.
Chicago Fire was on scene. Severide and Casey helped her into the ambulance so they could assess her injuries. “Can Jay come? Please?” She looked up at Severide and then back at Jay.
“Yeah, he can ride.” Severide smiled reassuringly.
Jay hopped into the back, holding her hand in his. “It’s okay.” He kissed her hand.

Antonio Dawson x fem!reader
Summary: You have saved countless of people during your time as a lifeguard, but never had you saved someone like Antonio..
Wordcount: 974
Warnings: None
A/N: Despite the picture of the girl in the top left, the reader is written totally neutral when it comes to race and body type. the girl in the picture just really fit the aesthetic
You have been a lifeguard for over ten years now and over the years, you’ve developed quite the eye. Like officers are able to read people and situations, you read everyone like a book here at your beach. And some people just have that vibe over them, telling you non verbally they will either drown or get in trouble sooner rather than later.
You witnessed families together, friends together and pro surfers defying the waters. It was all well, but you knew that it would change. You just felt it.
‘Miss, miss!’
The sound of distress. The start of a rescue.
You looked up and saw two teens, a girl and a younger boy, obviously related to one another, made their way over to you. ‘What’s wrong?’ you asked.
‘Our dad,’ the girl said. ‘I think he’s drowning.’
You stretched out your neck, grabbing your binoculars and searched the waters.
And there he was.
However, this man hadn’t been on your ‘Probably a drowner’-list. He hadn’t even been on a list at all. Maybe he wasn’t necessarily drowning, but he was quite far from shore.
‘Stay here,’ you said, as you made your way over to your rescue board. You rushed towards the edge of the ocean, before you dared to defy the waters.
You grew up near the coast. Your parents being surfers and your father being a lifeguard all his life had contributed to your love for the beach. You adored the coast, you loved to surf and being a lifeguard appeared to be a dream come true for you.
You paddled your way over to the man, who appeared fatigued, but somehow managed to keep his head above the water. Once you were closing in, you grabbed him by the arm. ‘I’ve got you,’ you said. ‘Hold onto the board.’
He latched on, desperately trying to catch his breath.
‘You alright?’
‘I’m fine,’ he said. ‘My kids, are they okay?’
‘They’re fine, sir. They’re on the beach. Go catch a breath and we’ll go back to shore, okay?’
He rubbed his face as he awkwardly laughs. ‘This is really embarrassing,’ he noted.
‘Don’t be embarrassed. You’re like the fifth person I saved today,’ you said with a smile. ‘Please, it can happen to anyone.’ Even to guys who look this attractive, because goodness me, are you a stunner. Your eyes wandered of the tattoos on his toned arms, but then you realized ogling at someone you rescued is extremely inappropriate and unprofessional.
‘Alright, climb on the board, head to the front and we’ll get you to shore.’
The paddle back was absolutely testing you and your ability to control yourself, because having his ass up your face, was torture.
‘Dad, are you alright?’ the boy asked, who hugged him close as soon as his dad was on shore again.
‘Diego, I’m fine,’ he said, before hugging his daughter. ‘Eva, you okay?’
‘I’m okay now that you’re okay.’ She—the girl who apparently was named Eva—looked over at you. ‘You’re so awesome,’ she told me. ’Thank you for saving my dad.’
You shook your head. ‘It’s no problem. It’s my job. Just keep an eye on your old man, ‘kay?’
‘Will do,’ Eva said with a chuckle.
‘We just moved here,’ Diego continued, ‘from Chicago. We’re not used to this much beach and the ocean like this. We’ll never get out in the water that deep again.’
‘Atta boy,’ you chuckled. ‘Listen to that one,’ you told the father. ‘He’s got his head on straight.’
┕━»•» 🌊«•«━━━━━┙
As the day had come to an end and the beach was slowly but surely going empty, you sat with your colleagues in the lifeguard tower. There was a knock on the door, before it opened slightly. ‘Excuse me,’ you heard and when you looked up, you saw the man you saved earlier today, flanked by his two children.
‘Hi,’ you said, standing up from your seat. ‘How are you feeling?’
‘I’m good, thanks.’
‘And dad listened to me,’ Diego said. ‘He didn’t go in too deep in the water.’
‘Very good,’ you laughed. ‘To what do we owe this pleasure?’
‘Just wanted to thank you,’ the dad was quick to say, though it’s hard to miss the dissatisfaction on Eva’s face. ‘That’s all.’
‘It’s my job,’ you told him, though you secretly hoped he was going to ask you out.
The three of them said their goodbyes and went away. You leaned in the door, as you stared at them. Maybe it was for the best, you thought.
When you wanted to close the door, you heard: ‘Miss, hold up!’ It was Eva who made her way back to you, leaving her father and brother to wait. ‘My dad actually wanted to ask you out,’ she told you once she was close enough, ‘however he chickened out.’
‘I see,’ you chuckled. You grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down both your name and number on it. ‘Go give this to your dad and have him call me, okay?’
Her eyes lit up. ‘Really? That is fantastic! Thank you, I’ll give it to him straight away!’
She rushed back to her father and brother and handed him the piece of paper. He looked at it, before a smile appeared on his face. He held up the paper and you gave him a wave.
Maybe you rescued the right person at the right time today.
┕━»•» 🌊«•«━━━━━┙
Unknown number: Hi, I literally have no idea how to do it, but if I won’t do it, Eva and Diego will personally come back to the tower to ask you out for me, so I better do it myself. Would you like to go out with me sometime? Preferably not near any water, as we both learned today I’m not at my best near the ocean. Lemme know. Antonio

Prove It - Antonio Dawson
Request: Antonio & reader have been dealing with sexual tension between them for quite some time, On the last night of their overnight undercover operation he goes to her hotel room (or she goes to his your choice) to “celebrate” their successful execution even though it starts off innocently enough things boil over to say the least❤️.
A/N: I think this totally veered off my intention and the request. I kinda ended up making it a not-friends to lovers lol.
One Chicago Masterlist
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
You had been adamant, from the moment you suggested it, that this plan was going to work. Escorting an informant across state borders and posing the entire operation as a prison break instead of what is was, a simple release, just so you could get him in with a cartel, should not have been on the top of your list of things that could go smoothly. The whole op was sketchy at best, a half-assed plan that anyone else would’ve nixed immediately but Antonio backed you.
And now you were standing in the bathroom of your motel room wondering how everything had gone so south and waiting for Voight to call and tell you that you were out of intelligence. If Antonio showed up and told you he didn’t want you to be his partner anymore, you’d be heartbroken but you’d understand. You felt like you’d screwed him over and you couldn’t help the guilty feeling in your chest.
A muted knock on your motel room door cut your thoughts short and you went to answer it, leaving the bag of ice and towel in the bathroom. You swung the door open, bathing the room in an eery green glow from the overhead light, flickering just above Antonio as he stood there in front of the door, hands in his pockets.
“Hey,” he looked apologetic, and you wanted to tell him that it should’ve been you looking apologetic. It should’ve been you standing at his motel room begging him to give you another chance. But you just opened the door wider and let him in, “how’s the?” He tapped his lower lip, mirroring the spot on your own mouth that was bright red and split.
“Hows it look?” You replied, heading back to the bathroom to grab the towel and ice, “Not exactly the celebration we were hoping for, huh?”
Antonio pursed his lips, looking like he wanted to say something biting but simply replying, “I talked to Voight, they put a bolo out on Gutierrez and his girlfriend. They couldn’t have gotten far, she’s got family in the area-“
“Glad we figured that out now. Wish we knew yesterday.”
“Hey, it was a good operation.” He immediately defended.
“It doesn’t feel like a good operation? I got a pool stick to the face. That was chaos, why the hell did we even agree to stop in that bar with him? There are a million ways that could’ve gone even worse than it did!” You snapped, upset more than anything that you had let your perp get away, “I let him get the slip on me and I feel so stupid right now.”
“Hey, we’re gonna get him. This is our chance to get someone on the inside. It’s a good plan and it’s gonna work.” He replied.
You nodded, unable to seem convinced that things would look up. You felt like you were constantly trying to prove yourself as a detective to Antonio and this was exactly what you didn’t need. A busted operation and a split lip wasn’t the confident operation you had hoped to pull off. Especially because it was Antonio who had to watch you screw up. It was no secret that your partner was attractive and somewhere along the line, working with him, your feelings had definitely crossed the line of partners.
“What if it doesn’t?” You asked, “what if I screw up again?”
Antonio shook his head, “You didn’t screw up. We had no idea things were gonna go south. This was my operation alright, I’m responsible. You getting hurt, that should’ve never happened, that’s on me.”
“No, Antonio, that’s not on you at all. You can’t like, protect me.”
“I should, I’m your partner.”
“Yeah, partners,” you repeated, “you can’t treat me like I’m some rookie that doesn’t know the first thing about ops. I can’t let you be first through the door or shouldering most of a case or whatever. I’m fully capable of doing the same job as you...it’s not fair to let you take all the blame.” You replied, lowering your voice. “I don’t want you to think I can’t do this.”
“I don’t think that at all...but I don’t want this to happen,” he nodded toward your split lip.
“It could happen to anyone.”
“Not on my watch.” Antonio replied.
“Antonio, I’m not a kid, I can handle myself.” You argued, “I just...I’m sorry, I feel like I’m just all over the place with this case. I wanna be a great partner, you know? Jules was...I want you to feel like you can trust me.”
“I do trust you.” He sighed, running a hand through his hair in mild frustration. “I don’t wanna see you get hurt, Jules was my last real partner and when she got shot, I was right there. I cared a lot about her, it’s different but, I don’t wanna take that risk with you.”
“You have to,” You replied, “besides, you and Willhite were friends, at most you’d only lose a thorn in your side.”
Antonio scoffed lightly, almost amused at the comment. “That’s not it at all,” he admitted, not quite believing that something as simple as walking to your room to make sure you were okay would lead to him actually telling you how he felt. He’d been playing things close to the chest after his divorce, not because he was reluctant to meet someone again but because he was reluctant to endure another imploded relationship.
“So what is it Antonio?” You questioned, laying the towel and ice down on the tv stand and crossing your arms. “We’re partners, you’re supposed to be honest with me or this doesn’t work.”
“This hasn’t been working,” he replied.
You frowned, “what do you mean?”
“Isn’t it enough for me to just tell you I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“No, cause I am hurt.” You replied, “just talk to me Antonio.”
“I’ve had a lot of partners over the years,” he said, “I’ve never…I’ve never had feelings for them before. I thought, maybe it was just because of Laura and the divorce but it’s not…” he shrugged, “it’s just you.”
“So you’re shouldering all this, taking the hit from Voight, because you have feelings for me?”
“I just don’t want to see you hurt.” He replied hastily. “I can’t.”
“This isn’t one-sided,” you admitted, “I’ve had feelings for you for a while now I just...I don’t know, I thought you thought I was just not great at my job.”
“I’ve never thought that. I only bench you cause I’m trying to protect you. I know that’s wrong-”
“I think we need to start trusting each other more. And actually being partners? We’re great together...I think we could be even better.” You admitted.
“I know, I’m sorry. I just-“
“Prove it to me.” You said, cutting him off.
“What?” He looked taken aback by the comment.
“You care about me, you’re sorry for the way things went down tonight,” you replied, “so prove it to me. We’ve got all night.”

Chicago PD Preference: When they first realize they're in love with you
requested by anon || A/N: hope you like it, love 💖 || tag list: @imaginesofyourfandom ; @regalbanshee
Tumblr media
Jay Halstead— he would realize he loved you for the first time after you got injured on the job, during an operation that went terribly wrong. He blamed himself deeply for not being there to protect you when he had to, being your partner at Intelligence. He would be scared to death that you wouldn't pull through and he wouldn't even be able to tell you about how he felt. At the end you did manage to survive, and he couldn't even contain his relief when he stood at the door of your room at Med and saw you still asleep from the surgery.
"(Y/N)'s going to be fine" his brother, Will, said as he stood beside Jay at the corridor. He could see it in his brother's eyes just how much he cared for you. "You have nothing to worry about"
"Don't I?" Jay echoed, still a bit under shock as he watched you, eyes not leaving your being for even a second. He seemed to fear you would disappear if he looked away.
"No, you don't" Will placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it tenderly. "Hey" only then, Jay looked at his face. "You will be able to tell (Y/N) how you feel" at that, Jay flashed him a small grateful smile.
The idea of telling you in the future, did excite him.
Tumblr media
Adam Ruzek— he would come to terms with his feelings for you one night when he saw someone hitting on you at Molly's. Jealousy would unexpectedly take a deep hold on him and that would make him see that it wasn't just friendship, what you two had. At least, that wasn't all he wanted. He wanted to be with you, to love you. And so, he would make it his goal to have the courage to tell you just how he really felt.
"What happened there?" he asked you with a emotionless expression on his face as he sat at your table, pretending he did not care while referring to the someone who had just walked away from you not looking too happy.
"Didn't feel like it" you shrugged, smiling at him before taking a long sip of your beer. "What about you, Ruzek? Not leaving with anyone tonight?"
Adam smiled before shrugging just like you had done. "No, I'm happy to just spend the night here drinking with you"
You smiled widely and raised your beer in the air. "Well, cheers to that"
Tumblr media
Antonio Dawson— he would realize how he felt about it when you comforted him during a really bad case. No other members of the unit had even noticed that it got to him that hard, but you did. When he excused himself and went to the precinct's parking lot, you followed right into his car and just waited. For him to talk, to have the time of silence he needed. Whatever it was that he was going to do to get over it, you wanted him to know that he could count on you. And for him, that mattered more than you could ever imagine.
"We should get back there" he would say after sometime, where you both just stayed there in the silence. He motioned to get out of the car, but you gently grabbed his forearm, making him stop.
"Hey" you waited until he fall back against the seat again and looked at you to continue speaking. "Voight won't care if we are just a few minutes away. We don't have anything new yet"
"That's exactly what worries me" Antonio said in something that was just a little above a whisper, with a heavy sight that put out all of his frustration.
Instead of saying something else you reached out and grabbed his hand, squeezing it tightly as you watched his face. You gave him a small smile, made him know that you were there, whatever happened. With his heart filled with joy in the middle of that chaos, he was able to smile back at you.
Tumblr media
Kevin Atwater— he would realize he had feelings for you unexpectedly, during a day when you showed up a bit late for work because you had stopped by to buy them all donuts and coffee. Your smile as you gave everyone the little gifts, the laughter you let out when Voight wasn't able to hide how much he had liked his coffee, all of that suddenly got to him like a punch in the face. He liked you, a lot. And honestly, he didn't know if he would be able to hide it for too long.
"I was beginning to think you had forgotten me" Kevin said when you got to him, as he leaned against his desk with a smile on his lips just by watching you.
"How could I?" you smiled back at him, while reaching to the inside of the donuts box. "This one is for you" you gave him a apparently delicious cinnamon twist.
"Oh, come on, you do know you are playing with my heart here, right?" he let the words leave his mouth in a rush, before he could even stop himself or rethink the sentence. His tone was filled with irony, but the meaning behind those words... that was quite true.
You smiled, shrugging slightly. "Good"
Tumblr media
Hank Voight— he would realize how he felt about you after a very successful case, having just them taken notice of his how good you worked and functioned together. That smoothness that surrounded you both, the way you were both really comfortable around each other and how you did not hesitate to fight him when he was wrong, unlike others, all those things opened his eyes for the fact that what he felt for you was more than just Sargeant affection towards a subordinate.
"This went better than I expected" you said, going to stand by his Hank's side at the sidewalk. Your arms were crossed over your chest as you watched the criminal that just got busted by Intelligence be placed into the patrol car.
"You did good police work, (Y/N)" he smiled, eyes going to the criminal just for seconds later to go back to you. Somehow, his eyes always kept going back to you.
"Thank you, Sarge" you said, almost unable to hide how proud of yourself you were in that moment. Deep down, you tried to not make it a big deal just how much a compliment from him meant to you.
Tumblr media
Erin Lindsay— her feelings would finally make sense to her after seeing you with your family one day after shift. She noticed all the love and caring you guys shared and being someone who did not have that kind of love for a great part of her life, it made her happy to see that you had that. You seemed to shine when you where with the people you loved and that made her want to be one of those people, to be able to put that kind of smile on your face just by being there, beside you.
"Hey, Lindsay, you want to join us for dinner?" you asked while having your arm joined with your mother's, a welcoming smile in both of your faces.
"I want her to go!" your little cousin said, while looking up at Erin with those childish, big curious eyes that melted her heart.
When she answered, she was looking directly at you. "I would love that"
Tumblr media
Kim Burgess— she would realize how she really felt about you after you spent a whole day together on a lookout, outside a suspect's house, sharing food and talking about the most random things possible while simultaneously, working on the case. The easy conversation, good vibe and the comfort you found in open up to each other would make her have to think hard on how she felt, which would lead to further realization
"Did I tell you about the day me and Adam made a drinking contest against some of the firefighters from firehouse 51 at Molly's?" you asked, right before taking a sip of your orange juice. Your eyes checked the suspect's house, everything was clear.
Kim on the driver's seat, turned her head towards you with a smile on her lips. It amazed her, how you seemed to always have something funny or interest to say. Made her want to hear what you had to say all the time. "You did not, but now you'll have to"
You laughed, then started off, excitedly, while remembering what happened on the said day. "So, me and Adam had been drinking alone for some time and then, Cruz comes along..."
Tumblr media
Hailey Upton— she would realize how she felt for you when during an interrogation you two were leading together, you got threatened by the suspect. It would drive her mad, to have that person even thinking about hurting you in any way. The very enraged look they had upon you would make her want to do something reckless or eve stupid, something that would take them away from you. Anything. All that protectiveness and worry, she realized, was not just friendship. Couldn't be.
"I can't believe they had the nerve to threaten you" she said more to herself then to you, when you both walked out of the interrogation room together. The expression on her face was furious. "To say that, to even think about—" she interrupted herself with a heavy sight, looking at everywhere but you.
"It's okay, Hailey, really. I've received worse threats before" you tried to make a bit of a joke to easy the tension, but she was having none of it. You could see the anger and worry in her eyes. "Hey, hey" you touched her shoulder gently, making her stop and look at you. "Everything's fine"
Hailey nodded for a moment and you thought she was going to let it go, but then she walked straight towards you and held you tightly in a hug. You smiled softly, glad for her being so protective. Little did you know, all her feelings for you were now very clear on her mind.

He Promised, You Trusted.
Part Two to “I Promise, You Trust”
A/N: Reader is between 14-17, so this is a Father Figure!Antonio x Reader. No romance, 100% platonic.
TW: Nothing horribly graphic, some mild angst, but mostly just to lead up to the fluff

It sure was cold outside. Chicago had been cold, but Minnesota somehow was colder. Your aunt had apologized she couldn't pick you up from school but it wasn't really her fault. She had to pick up some extra shifts to keep up with the bills. You're just glad she let you stay with her. 8 months ago, you really had no idea where you would end up.
Detective Dawson ran off to make some calls, leaving you to your own thoughts. You noticed the worried glances of his coworkers watching you from the unit floor. You didn’t know any of them, they were all sorta intimidating in their own way, well, except for the woman with brown hair, she looked nice. It just felt better to block them out and focus on the mug in your hands. The hot chocolate had gotten cold in the time it took you to process everything and really you haven’t truly processed anything.
Dawson came back in the room, his face muddled with several emotions. There was some stress, determination and anger but you made out the sympathy on his features most of all. Most people don't want sympathy, but you were just glad someone was caring enough to do so. Trailing behind him was another cop, older, you'd seen him before, just didn't know his name.
"You got anyone we can call?" Antonio asks. you had to wrack your brain a bit. It hadn’t occurred to you that this would be important. "I have an aunt. I haven't talked to her in years. My dad and her don't get along."
The two men exchanged a glance. And you understood now. If you didn't find a home yourself, they'd have to put you in a group home. That was not good. You had heard stories, everyone has. Group homes only provide shelter to trouble. If you ended up there who knows what would happen to you after. You hadn’t thought this through, this was a bad idea. In some sort of a desperate plea, you grab the detective’s hand as he’s about the leave with the other guy.
"Wait no no... I can't live in a home. I can't. I'd rather go home to my dad. Please no." Panic evident in your voice. His face softens, kneeling down to your height. He was just going to try to comfort you. You forced yourself to remember whatever he says can’t change the truth. He isn’t the one making the rules. You’re not naive.
"Hey, hey kiddo. Not there yet, let's give your aunt a ring and see if we can get ahold of her. You got a name?" His voice calm, if he was worried you really couldn’t tell now, unlike when he first returned. You gave her name, not knowing anything besides she lived in St. Paul. But they were cops, you figured they could track her down.
The other guy, Voight, left, you heard him call out to someone named Halstead to run your aunt's name. Antonio didn’t move, just kept holding your hand looking around as if he wasn’t. The fact we seemed unbothered by the comforting gesture put you more at ease, yet you still were struggling with this.
"B-but what if she doesn't want me?"
There was a look of disbelief in his face, as if you were made of solid gold. It was fake and you knew it, still, it was comforting. "We're gonna figure it out, ok? I'll tell her myself what a great kid you are."
"I'm sorry."
The detective didn’t have to say anything, but you knew he deflected your apology. Somehow you just knew the minute you said it what his response was going to be. He didn’t feel bothered. And on top of this it was going to work out. He would make sure it worked out.
And it did. Given the explanation of the situation, your Aunt was happy to take you in. Antonio pulled some strings and you spent one night with his colleague Kim Burgess (the woman with the brown hair) before your aunt took over custody. In less than 48 hours you were on your way to Minnesota with a bag you packed and your dad had no clue. For once you knew there was at least one person who was worth trusting in this world.
The snow crunched below your feet. It was only another mile or so to your aunt’s place. The roads were pretty clear. Much of the snow had been packed down for days, but a recent heatwave melted and refroze the roads to solid ice. The deceiving snow was only an inch or two thick on top of the slick icy layer beneath. So, when you hear tires squeal, it is not in any way surprising. You were learning to drive yourself; ice roads were something that even your aunt had trouble managing let alone teach you how to navigate. You had respect for anyone who was able to successfully manage those roads in two-wheel drive. Whipping around, there’s not a two-ton car sliding towards you as you had expected, planning to dive roll into the snow. There’s a black van with a guy in a ski mask running towards you.
Crap.
Taking advantage of the ice, you threw your backpack at him, hoping he’d lose his balance and walk onto the more slippery road. Yet things do not go to plan as he easily recovers and continues to pursue you, reaching you and wrapping his arms around your waist. You fought. You screamed, wailed, bit, flailed, kicked and every other defensive action your subconscious could think of. It didn’t work, he was just too much bigger than you. You were thrown into the back of the van.
no no no no no this can’t be happening.
You considered yourself a calm person, but that was before you were tied and gagged in the back of a van. The darkness seemed to only escalate your fears as you had a blank canvas to imagine your worst nightmares becoming reality. "Please, just let me go” you must have said it 40 times before something heavy hit your head.
Things faded in and out. Darkness and light fought a battle, but you could never really tell if you could see or not, it was all just shadows. The nausea was also coming in waves, paired with the throbbing sensation on the back of your head. You had been pistol whipped. But of course, you didn’t know that. The sheer terror of the entire situation still had you disoriented. You couldn’t feel the time pass, most people know what a minute or five minutes feels like, but you couldn’t focus. It was all too much.
When the van doors slide open you hear the guy who grabbed you talk to whoever was driving. “I still can’t believe this guy.” His gruff voice scoffed, close by.
“Well, he had the money, who are we to judge.”
“Guy? Had someone hired them to take me? Was I about to be sold or something?”
You’re embarrassed to say the next voice you heard brought you half a millisecond of comfort, it was misplaced. “You had to put a sack over her head?” It was your dad. How? Better question why would he ask that question though he had no emotion in his voice.
The men and your dad talk as you wrestle with this entire shock. Suddenly someone picks you up and carries you over their shoulder. You figured it was guy who grabbed you, but feeling that whoever was holding you gently lowered you to the floor, you made the new assumption it was your dad. The blindfold and gag came off in a quick motion. You were met with the hollow face of your father in some sort of abandoned room. He gave a sickening smile, one that brought no relief with it. “I brought you back sugar!”
“Dad, let me go.”
He nodded and started to undo your restraints. It couldn’t be this easy. Taking a moment, he was preoccupied with removing the duct tape glue from your arms, as if he cared, you jumped up, running across the room to open the metal door, but it was locked.
“Open the door, dad.”
“Y-you’ll just leave.” He whimpered, face looking offended.
This wasn’t your dad. The eyes were too hopeful and the demeanor was too caring. This was you dad having some sort of a mental breakdown. The pieces came together as you watched the tremors in his hands. Not knowing the man in front of you felt more terrifying than the man you ran away from. Before, you knew somewhere buried deep in his subconscious he would never seriously harm you beyond some bruises. But you stared into eyes you didn’t recognize. It was entirely possible he was going to kill you. All of that mess 8 months ago just to end up dying in Chicago and nobody knows about it.
But that’s where you were wrong.
Within a 25 mile radius…
“Detective Dawson,”
The somewhat uncaring police deputy at St. Paul started running down the situation. There wasn’t much to tell. Your backpack was found in a snowbank near some blood in the snow with you nowhere to be found. Your aunt had been adamant that the deputy at the front desk reach Antonio. And of course, the detective roped his unit into the situation. Voight made it a priority. It didn’t take a psychologist to see that Antonio cared about you, he cared about all his teen CIs. They were his secondary kids. He would find you, even if he hadn’t promised you to do so. He promised himself. When word had come in that your dad had been behind the entire situation it was not much of a shock. A man with a past of petty crime and domestic abuse with mental health concerns did seem like a high probability suspect. He had also rented out a storage container on the industrial side of town. Antonio and his team suited up. He was going to end this situation here and now.
 “CHICAGO PD OPEN THE DOOR”
In a frenzied craze, your father throws you to the floor. It would make sense for him to run, but logic wasn’t a key factor right now. His foot goes to your neck and the gun points to your head. The gun must have been on his back, you hadn’t seen it until now.
I don’t want to die.
Not like this.
Not here.
Please no.
Please.
Bursting through the door you make out several people with weapons drawn on your dad. Light floods the dark room leaving the two of you partially blind, yet the tension still filled the air.
“LET HER GO.” It wasn’t a request. It was an order. Regardless, your neck was still being crushed. Air was slowly waning from your lungs. And then it wasn’t. In an instant you felt his foot roll out from over you, giving you a chance to scramble away.
“Y/N, Y/N, it’s ok. We’re police.”
And that was likely the only time anyone from your side of town was happy to hear that phrase. But still, you couldn’t quite comprehend it. It was a full mess of tears, screaming, wailing and shaking. You had been mere seconds from death by gun or choking, you couldn’t just suck it up. Not even you were that badass. Nonetheless, the cops weren’t getting anywhere with calming you down.
“Call an ambo.” Calls another voice, a woman. “Tonio, you ok?”
“Yeah” And under normal circumstances you would have connected the dots, but as it has already been overly reiterated, you were not stable right now. The only thing you could register was the familiar hand on top of yours gently squeezing your arm below.
“Shhh shhh, it’s ok kiddo, we got you. He’s gone.”
Hold it, you know that voice.
And what would you know, you finally grasped it. Staring down at you is Detective Dawson, once again saving your neck, literally. It was probably against some rule, but you just buried your head in his shoulder trying to block out everything outside. He let it slide, just holding you there, seemingly not in any rush to move you till the paramedics arrived. In time you realized the other officer trying to calm you down had been Burgess, but you just hadn’t recognized her. You’re in pain, but not horrendous amounts, must be the adrenaline. Regardless, Antonio calls another officer, Atwater, to carry you outside to the ambulance. Before you know it, the ambo is driving away from the scene to Chicago Med, leaving the Intelligence Unit to deal with the aftermath including Dawson.
Sitting in the ER, you wait for test results to return on your head scan. More had happened in the last 12 hours than in the last 8 months. You realized how much you liked the simplicity and (relative) safety of Minnesota, but now you’d at least carry pepper spray. You’re pulled from your thoughts as you see Dawson peak from the side of the curtains. You had not felt too lonely or afraid before given the officers stationed outside your room, but seeing him made you feel better.
“Hey kiddo, how’s the neck?” he smiles, moving into the room slowly as if he was trying not to scare you.
You smile weakly, still exhausted. “Alright, considering.” You noticed tape on the base of his neck on one side extending underneath his shirt where you couldn’t see. “What happened?”
“I might be getting a little long in the tooth for tackling suspects.” And by suspects, you knew he meant your dad. He was the one who got him off you. “Are you ok?” You ask. “All good, just had to get my shoulder checked out.”
“Ok, glad you’re ok.” And you truly were. You would feel awful if you had been the reason he had been seriously injured, especially after you were supposed to be out of his hair.
He nods, fiddling with his hands on the rail at the end of your bed. “Hey, your aunt is on her way to get you, it’s gonna be awhile, but I talked to your doctor and they said they’ll keep you till she arrives to monitor your concussion.”
You nod. “My dad?”
“We got him, he’s going away for a long time.” You notice his lack of enthusiasm in that response, obviously thinking that justice had not been fully served.
“But not forever.” Your voice soft, barely over a whisper.
He shook his head. “Long enough you’re not going to need to worry about him.”
“But you’ll come rescue me again if he tries, right?” You cocked an eyebrow, knowing it wasn’t a promise he could make, but every reassuring thing he told you made you feel better anyways.
“As much as I love the job, I don’t know if I’m going to be on the force in 40 years.”
“Yeah, you might not be able to a shoot a gun while using a walker with tennis balls on the bottom.” The two of you laugh a bit at that visualization.
As you quiet down you notice he looks a bit more serious.“But yeah, I’ll get you.”
Once again, probably against some protocol, but you just had to reach out and hug him burying your face in his leather jacket. He leans forward to pull you in. Something about it was just natural, you knew he’d protect you, you knew that now.
“Thank you so much. I’d be dead.”
“Of course,” He pets your hair, resting his chin on the top of your head.
“T-thank you for caring.” He pulls back to look you in the eyes.
“I checked your record, no priors since you left. Thank you for being worth it.” He smiles.
The two of you sit there for a minute, staring at each other, his hand still the (good) side of your head. You’d never really had a dad moment like this, but if this was the first and last dad moment you ever had, you were ok with it. It was perfect. He stands up, stretching out his back as if he’s about to leave. But instead, he pulls up a chair.
“You don’t mind if I stick around till your aunt arrives do you?”
You gently shook your head. Truth was, you were too afraid to ask him to do so, but of course, somehow, he knew what you needed. So there the two of you sat. Talking about the extremely normal things you had been involved in back in Minnesota. You swear he kept a small smile on his face the entire time. Just happy to see you moving on. It was done.
When you turned 18, you reached out the Antonio again and asked if he would be willing to meet up for lunch, now that it was “legal” to do so. And now it has become an annual event with occasional bonus trips when you somehow wind up in the Windy City. Your lives may have grown apart in distance but something would always keep the two of you together. He’d always be there for you, and you needed that. Maybe not everyone needs a perfect father figure to survive in the world, but knowing a tough boxing detective would be by your side in one phone call gave you the freedom of safety. Your aunt is an amazing woman, but Antonio Dawson is really the one who you owe everything to.
He promised, you trusted, and it was the first decision of your life that truly mattered.
A/N: I know my presence on this account is sporadic, but I hope some people enjoy this. I’m going to dive into my drafts to work on some of the partially written responses I have for some old requests. (:

Love Conquers All
Request: Hiiii Sweetheart! 😍 I'm really really sorry for another Antonio imagine and I'd understand if you don't want to do it. I had the idea of being his girl (not a cop tho) and you both love each other with all your heart. But his ex wife comes to the precinct just as you also visit him and she's terrible to you, making you feel not good enough for him. Antonio of course stands up for you but he can't prevent you from leaving, feeling more than terrible. He searches you and finds you at the water and he tells you how much you mean to him and it's just pure love and fluff ❤️
Pairings: Antonio Dawson x Reader
Warnings: fluff, angst, swearing
A/N: so sorry it took forever to get out!!!!
Tumblr media
The sound of Antonio’s alarm had woken you up with a start. You opened your eyes just as he was reach back to grab his phone to turn it off. Once it was off and silence was the only thing heard you turned in his arms and looked at him with a smile. “Good morning, handsome.” You said and he smiled back at you.
“Good morning, beautiful.” He replied back and reached down to kiss you.
“Do we have to get up?” You asked him and he sighed and nodded.
“Sadly, we do.” He said and you groaned and that made him chuckle “Come on sleepy head.” He said and started to get up but you grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
“5 more minutes.” You said already closing your eyes and falling back to sleep and he chuckled and began moving again.
“No can do, sweetheart. I can’t be late or Voight will have my head.” He said and got up the warmth leaving you. You watched him as he got ready to leave and you sat up on your elbows.
“Traitor.” You said and he let out a laugh that made you smile. He walked over to you and kissed you while sitting on the bed.
“Hey, enjoy your day off. You’ve been working too hard lately.” He said and you rolled your eyes but knew it was true.
“Hmpf, fine. I’m staying by the precinct to see you and Jay later on.” You said and he smiled and nodded.
“Sounds wonderful.” He said
“I may even stop by that bakery place that everyone loves so much.” You said and he kissed you once again.
“You know the way to our hearts.” He said as he pulled back from kissing you. “Now I got to go.” He said and stood and then you huffed and laid back down “I love you.” He said and you looked at him.
“I love you too.” You replied and he was out of the room and out the door heading off to the precinct.
It was really a coincidence on how you met him. You met him when you showed up to drop something off to Jay, Jay was your twin brother which made Will your older brother, that he had left at home and begged you to get and bring it to him. You worked for the police department but you worked for the NSA, National Security Agency. Your brothers didn’t like this but they really didn’t have a say in it you were going to do what you wanted to do. You are really respected on the team to the point where you were running some of the cases. You had been on a case that Intelligence was on and it got a little out of hand with some of them, Jay and Antonio, but you and your team got them out safely and when Jay gave you hell for doing something reckless, he finally introduced you to Antonio and the rest was history.
When you heard the door shut, you sighed and got up. You were already awake and there was no way your body was going to let you sleep in any longer. You usually ran in the morning wanting to keep in top physical condition since you could have a very demanding job so you got changed into your running clothes and walked out and put on your shoes. You grabbed your armband and put your phone in it but not without connecting your Bluetooth headphones to it and starting your workout playlist. You walked out making sure the apartment was locked and took a deep breath and stretched some and then started your run. You didn’t run very long and before you knew it you were back home, you walked in after unlocking the door and got you something to drink. Once you were cooled down then you went and took a hot shower, one that made your worries melt away. After you got out you looked at your phone and noticed that it was already noon and you had decided to go and see your brother and boyfriend. As you got dressed you headed into the kitchen and grabbed something to eat while you looked for your keys and then when you found them you were out the door and getting into your car. You started to all too familiar drive to the precinct. When you got there you found a spot between Jay’s truck and Antonio’s truck. You parked and killed the engine and then got out and started to walk in. When you got to the door and opened it and were about to step in, a female voice called out to you “Hold the door!” it said and you did so since you were raised to do so by your mother. You turned around and looked at who it was and your heart dropped, it was Antonio’s ex-wife, Laura Dawson. You smiled at her but when she saw you, she made a look of disgust “Oh, it’s you. What are you doing here?” She asked.
“I’m here to see my brother, Jay Halstead, and Antonio.” You said you were already feeling yourself go in on yourself, you had some pretty bad relationships and a lot of them talked down to you and made you feel worthless.
“Well, I’m here to see Antonio too.” She said with a smile like she had won something.
“Oh? What for?” You asked not liking having this conversation with her.
“That is none of your business but if you must know, I’m going to see if he has any plans this evening.” She said and you nodded.
“Well, we do have plans this evening.” You said and she again made a face.
“I can’t believe he left me and then got together with you.” She said and that made your stomach churn. You looked everywhere but her and when you locked eyes with Trudy, she gave you a look saying ‘I don’t like this situation’.
“Good afternoon, Agent Halstead and Laura.” She said you smiled at her and she buzzed you up “Jay and Antonio will be happy to see you Y/N.” She said purposely leaving out Laura and that made her eyes roll. You opened the gate and you both ascended upstairs. When you got to the top everyone was still there and when they saw they smiled but it slipped when they saw Laura.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” Jay asked coming over to you and hugging you and you returned the hug.
“Hey, bro. I came to see you and Antonio.” You said and released him.
“Antonio is taking care of something with Voight but will be in here soon.” Jay said and then he looked over at Laura and nodded then looked at you as you both had a silent conversation just then Antonio walked out and lit up like a Christmas tree.
“Y/N.” He said and walked over and kissed you and Jay faked gagging but you flipped him off.
“Hey, Babe.” You said almost forgetting Laura was there until she cleared her throat. You both looked at her and she had a grimace on her face.
“Laura, what are you doing here?” Antonio asked
“I wanted to see if you were free tonight.” She said overly sweetly and Antonio sighed.
“No and I never will be for you. I’m with Y/N and we have something already planned out for tonight.” He spoke
“What made you choose her anyways?” She asked, “She has nothing to offer.” She said and you shrunk back to where Jay was who was trying to comfort you and not get angry but it was not working.
“That is no way to talk to my girlfriend.” Antonio said
“That is no way to talk to my sister.” Jay said at the same time as Antonio spoke. Laura scuffed and rolled her eyes.
“She has everything to offer and she is actually there for me.” Antonio said and she scuffed again and then looked you up and down.
“She’s not even that pretty. You should be with me and not her.” She said and you were sick by this point and just wanted to get at.
“I have to go. Work is calling me.” You lied with ease but everyone knew the reason why. You hugged Jay and then hugged and kissed Antonio.
“Are we still on for tonight?” He asked and you hesitated.
“No, I think I just want to stay in.” You said and then left without giving him a kiss or saying that you loved him. As you were walking down you could hear Antonio going off and when you got down the stairs Trudy looked at you.
“He loves you.” She said and you looked at her “You’re the only one he wants to be with. Don’t let her get into your mind.” She added and you nodded and then you were quickly walking to your car but quickly by passing it just wanting to get out of there, a spot where Antonio and you had your first date. You don’t know how long you were sitting on the bench with your knees up and letting silent tears fall while looking at the little pond. You had felt your phone vibrating and pulled it out to see who was calling and it was Antonio but you declined it then you saw 5 missed calls from him, 4 from Jay, 2-3 from Hailey and Kim, 4 from Will, 4 from Connor, 4 from Kevin and Adam, 1 from Voight and multiple messages from all of them but you didn’t care. You put your phone away and resumed your position looking at the water.
“Is this seat taken?” A familiar voice, that you knew as Antonio’s, asked but you didn’t say anything “Baby, you have nothing to worry about.” He said but again you didn’t say anything “I love you and only you.” He said and you sniffled.
“You must’ve loved her because you married her.” You said not looking at him.
“But then we divorced and then I found you. My person.” He said and you slowly turned to look at him, seeing him smile softly.
“You really mean that?” You asked in a small voice and he smiled.
“Of course. Now come here.” He said and opened his arms and you undid your position and curled into him as you looked up at him. He wiped your tears away and kissed your forehead and you melted into it. “I’m sorry for the way she talked to you and made you feel, she had no right. You missed me going off on her and her storming off.” He said as you laid her head on your shoulder.
“I heard you going off but I just needed to get out of there.” You said and he nodded.
“We got worried when you weren’t answering our calls. We even roped Will and Connor into calling you.” He said and you smiled. Connor was a good friend of yours, you had actually met before he started working at Med and you considered him a really good friend.
“Sorry.” You said and he chuckled and shook his head.
“I knew where you were.” He said
“You always know where I am.” You said with a chuckle and a true smile.
“There’s my girl.” He said and kissed your forehead “That just means we’re perfect for each other.” He said “Now are we still on for tonight?” He asked and you nodded.
“Of course, Baby. I never wanted to cancel, she just got to me.” You said
“You have nothing to worry about. She won’t be bothering either of us anymore.” He said
“What did you do?” You asked looking up at him.
“Nothing serious. Just threatened her with a restraining order.” He said it like it wasn’t a big deal.
“Tonio.” You said and he chuckled.
“What? I’m not going to let her talk to my girl like that.” He said
“I love you, Tonio.” You said
“I love you too. How about you let your brothers know you’re safe and then you and I are going out for lunch.” He said
“Don’t you have to work?” You asked
“Voight gave me some time to find you. So, I have time.” He said you chuckled and then he got up and offered you a hand which you took and you two started towards his truck since you left your car at the precinct. You followed him while you sent everyone a message and then you got into his truck and started off to your favorite place. As he was driving you looked over at him wondering how lucky you got with him. You knew that he wasn't going to go anywhere and he wasn’t going to let you go anytime soon. Why? Because he loved you too much and you loved him too and that is the strongest bond one could ask for. You two are it for each other.

Being part of the CFD was always going to give you new life experiences. You'd had four calls today, the first a traffic accident caused by a drunk driver. You'd helped cut open a car, pulling out a pregnant woman and her young daughter, the drunk had died on impact. The second, four kids decided to light some fire crackers out in an abandoned trailer park and throw them around. One of the boys got hit and had caught light, alongside one of the old trailers that were left there. He'd sustain some minor burns, owing mainly to the thick coat he wore. A stern talking too and a serious look from Chief Boden ensured they wouldn't be doing it again. The third was an elderly lady who had managed to start a pan fire in her ground floor apartment, luckily her neighbour had gotten her out before anything serious happened to her. The fourth... the fourth is where all hell broke loose. Some putz had messed up in his meth lab, blowing half a building up. Firehouse 51 were the on scene first, strapping your mask on you followed Casey, Herrmann, Severide and Kidd to the top floor slowly working your way down. Hammering on doors, you ushered more people out than you could keep count of. The further down the building you got the worse it became to see and find conscious residents. You exited the building for a second time carrying a young boy, running him over to the ambo you laid him on the bed.
"Young boy, found him unconscious on the ninth floor. He's got a laceration to his leg, and he's inhaled a lot of smoke." Brett nodded, checking his chest.
"Okay let's go." helping to load him into the back of the ambo, you shut the doors and watched them speed away. Turning around, you walked straight into Antonio.
"Shit I'm sorry (Y/N)." He shook his head waving his phone.
"Phone won't stop buzzing, this is a nightmare." Nodding you patted his shoulder,
"I know, don't worry we're pulling out everyone and hopefully one will lead us to the people who did this." He gave you a half smile, you never told anyone but you loved how Antonio smiled. It was always like he was hiding something, it made you curious. Running his hand over his head, he pocketed his phone.
"Well... if you could bring me out some solid evidence that would sure make my job easier." Stepping away you grinned,
"And what do I get if I do?" He chuckled, pulling out his ringing phone again he looked back up at you.
"I'll cook you dinner." Pressing your gloved hand to your chest, you winked.
"One crispy critter coming up." Pulling your mask and helmet back on you ran back into the building, not noticing Antonio watching you, he smirked, bringing the phone to his ear.
"Yeah?!"
----------------------------------------
It took five hours in total to get everyone out, and to extinguish the fire. You'd all headed back in once Boden gave the go ahead, checking for any evidence of how the fire started, and if anyone else was tied to it. There wasn't a lot to gather as the fifth floor was practically a scorched hole, you'd shifted a load of rubble and found part of the meth dealer.
"One crispy critter." You mumbled to yourself. Frowning, you gently pushed the part of him aside and found a perfect rectangular indent in the ground. Pulling your halligan round, you jammed it into the edging and pried the top off.
"Lieutenant... I'm gonna need a blow torch over here!" Calling over your shoulder, Severide appeared looking down and whistled.
"What you thinks inside?" Shrugging and smiling he took the blow torch from Cap,
"Guess we'll find out." Stepping away, you turned your back until you heard the torch go off and the thick metal door clunk to the floor. Looking back round, you looked into the now opened safe and felt your eyes go wide.
"That is a lot of cash Kellie."
"Yep... go get Antonio will ya? Bring him in here, but mind the third floor staircase it's pretty ruined. Take the South side stairs to get here okay?"
"No problem Lieutenant." Turning back around you made your way out of the apartment and out of the building. You found Antonio questioning some of the residents of the building. You couldn't help but admire the way he held himself, you'd guessed he would look good under all that leather. But as it was a Chicago winter, you could only guess how good he looked. You made to stand in his line of sight wanting to catch his attention. Glancing over he nodded, you held up a hand and waited. You passed the time and spoke to some of the residents, getting them blankets and bottles of water until they could be moved.
"(Y/N)!" Looking back, you handed over the blankets you had to a young family, tucking one round a small girl with big brown eyes. Waving at her, you walked back to Antonio.
"Hey, sorry I know you're busy with statements but we've found a safe with a chunk of cash and files in which I think you may need." Antonio's eyes lit up, gesturing his hand towards the building.
"Then lead the way." Walking back to the building you lead him up the stairs and towards the South side like Serveride said.
"We've got to go this way Detective, the other set of stairs aren't secure and could give way." Antonio laughed,
"You know you don't have to call me Detective, you can call me by my name right?" Smiling to yourself, you glanced behind you.
"I... yeah I know... it's... I don't like being unprofessional is all. I'm happy to use your name outside of work hours... just don't want anyone thinking I'm being disrespectful you know?" 'Tonio stopped in the hallway you was walking down, smiling.
"Fair enough... well I'm pretty sure I said I'd cook you dinner right? So how about I come around after shift, and make you something hmm?" You ran your tongue over your bottom lip, noticing how he watched transfixed as you did.
"Yeah sure... okay." Turning back you started walking again.
"Not gonna give me your address no?"
"You're a Detective...so detect." Looking back you winked, then waving your hand over your shoulder, you motioned for him to follow you. Biting his lip he followed, keeping quiet the rest of the way.
Showing him into the apartment, you walked him to Severide then left them both to talk as you continued your checks of the building. The rest of shift went in a haze, it took another three hours to complete the building checks. By the time you got back to the firehouse, you had one hour till your shift finished. You headed to the showers and let the hot water run down you helping the ache that had slowly built in your back. Once you'd finished you pulled on clean clothes and dried your hair. Checking the time, you pulled out your bag, packed everything up and pulled on your fleece and hat. You filed out behind some of your crew mates, all of who didn't feel like talking. That fire had taken a lot out of you all. Waving bye to Stella you climbed into your car and headed back to your apartment.
------------------------------
You dumped your bag and boots in the closet, and hung your coat up on the hook. You headed straight to the your bedroom and changed into a loose fitting top and jogging bottoms. Throwing your hair up into a loose bun, you padded into the kitchen to make yourself a tea. Before you could finish making it, there was a knock at your door. Smirking, you headed out the kitchen, tea forgotten, and slowly pulled open your door. There he was, standing there with that gorgeous smile on his face, black jeans and boots, a dark fitted t-shirt, leather jacket over the top and a woolen hat. You even glinted a set of cuffs on his belt as he shifted. God help me, the thought flitted through your mind before you could even take a breath.
"Hey." His voice was low, and his face looked a little tired.
"You found me Detective." Raising an eyebrow, he grinned.
"That I did, you wanna let me in?" Stepping back you pulled open the door allowing him in. Closing it behind him, you pulled the closet door open,
"You can put your coat and boots in there Detective, I'll grab you a beer." Slowly walking away you felt his eyes linger on you as you rounded the corner to the kitchen. You couldn't help the shit eat grin on your face as you pulled open the fridge. However, you nearly dropped the beer as Antonio had snuck up behind you.
"What happened to calling me Antonio hmm?" He was so close you could feel his breath on your neck. Letting out a shout, you spun round, elbow out, clocking him in the ribs causing him to fall back against the counter.
"Ow...fuck."
"Jesus 'Tonio, you can't just sneak up like that... are you okay." Putting the beer on the side, you leaned closer to him trying to pull his hands away from his side.
"Damn mi amor you got some power in you. You should come down to my boxing gym." Smirking he looked up at you, and you felt your face flush. Turning back to the beer you cracked it open, took a gulp for yourself, then finished the bottle.
"You know, I may just come down there... then maybe I can kick your ass." Poking him in the ribs again, he laughed and grabbed your hand pulling you a little closer to him, his lips barely an inch from yours. You felt yourself shiver, the heat from his body coming off him in waves.
"Okay okay, but maybe as we have both had a long day we instead have some beers and food hmm?" Letting go of your hand, he reached round the corner and picked up a bag, emptying it's contents onto the counter.
"I hope you're hungry, because I don't make small meals." Reaching into the fridge again you pulled out another two bears, cracked them open and hummed.
"To be honest I'm that hungry I could eat a Vegas style buffet right now." Running your gaze over him you smirked. Giving you that half smile, he took the beer and took a gulp.
"That so huh?"
"Well I am a firefighter, we burn a lot of energy." Watching him out the corner of your eye you saw the smile that sat there from your witty pun.
"Well... then we best get those energy levels back up hmm?" Nodding you picked up a knife and started cutting some peppers and onions. You had no clue what you was making but you helped, and quietly chatted. It felt nice to do something as simple as cooking dinner. Antonio had always seemed intense when you'd worked alongside him at scenes you were both at, but you had seen a different side of him when you'd been at Molly's together. At some point, 'Tonio had ushered you into a seat at the dinner table handing you a new beer as he finished up the food. Once done, he handed you a plate filled with vegetables, chicken and lord knows what else.
"Oh my gods this is amazing."
"So surprised?" He spoke in between a fork full of food.
"Not surprised, just... most of the cops I know barely make themselves toast let alone a nice meal like this." Looking pleased with himself he took another gulp of beer. The two of you falling into a comfortable silence as you ate. Once you'd finished you decided to leave the plates in the sink, I can deal with them tomorrow. Gesturing to him, you moved into the living room and dropped onto your plush sofa, the both of you sinking into its depths. You felt the lull of sleep pulling at you.
"You gotta nice place here (Y/N), you don't have any roommates no?" Catching his questioning look you dropped your head against the back of the sofa and smirked.
"Lucky for you papi I live here alone." Thinking he hadn't heard you, you tilted your head and looked at him. Colour had flooded his cheeks, his eyes blown.
"Call me that again." His voice was a low whisper. Sitting up, you took his beer and placed yours and his on the table and shifted back closer to him.
"You like being called that huh?" Reaching over he wrapped his hand around your thigh, gently squeezing, his gaze was dark, slowly running over you.
"Maybe...say it again and see."
"Mmm okay... but first I um... I've been wanting to do something all day, if you don't mind."
"Huh... and what's that?" You felt your nerves kick in, you'd wanted to kiss Antonio since the first time you saw him two years ago. You'd watched him go through different girlfriends and casual dates, each of which ended after a few months. Leaning closer you traced his jaw with one hand. It felt slightly rough, no doubt tomorrow he would have a slight stubble showing. You didn't know at what point you did it, your brain must have gone blank. For the next time you blinked, you was leaning into 'Tonio and gently biting his lip. He let out a low moan, the hand that was on your thigh shifted to the back of it moving you forward to his lap. Obliging, you moved with him straddling his thick thighs all the while not taking your mouth off of him. Bringing both your hands up, you gently ran them through his hair messing up the painstakingly neat style he had. He was always so put together... which made it even more thrilling to be the one to bring that perfect composure crumbling down around him. Fisting your hands in his hair, you tugged on it. It must have been hard enough, as it caused him to suck in a sharp breath you kissed him, fiercely running your tongue against his own.
"Fuck..." he moaned into your mouth, grabbing your ass he hauled himself up pulling your legs around him and started down the hallway.
"On the left... my room." You dug your fingers into his shoulders, deepening the kiss. You heard the thud of the door as 'Tonio kicked it open. You expected to be thrown onto your bed, so it surprised you when he slowly laid you back, gently holding himself above you. Pulling away a little he looked down at you his breathing coming in short bursts.
"You... you okay with this?" Smiling you ran your thumb over his bottom lip,
"I'm very much okay with this papi." Dropping his head, he huffed out a laugh.
"Good." Before you could do anything, his hands were on your jogging bottoms pulling them down, reaching up you pulled your own shirt off exposing your bare chest, Antonio seemed to choke on his own words.
"Lord have mercy." Sitting up you unbuckled his belt and then his jeans, running your tongue against his exposed hip.
"The lord isn't going to help you tonight Detective." Dropping his head back he fisted his hands at his side, clearly trying to control himself. Standing up, you tugged on his shirt,
"Take this off." It took a moment for him to relax his shoulders, then allowed you to pull his shirt over his head. You felt your mouth instantly water at the sight of him. Reaching his hand up to your chin, he tilted your face up to him.
"You okay there firefighter?" Even though your face was tilted up, you couldn't take your eye off of his exposed chest.
"I um... I..." You absentmindedly ran your hand over him, tracing the dips, frowning at the years healed bullet wound in his chest. Leaning closer you pressed a kiss to his chest, slowly moving from one side to the other. 'Tonio let you do as you pleased as he reached up, removing your hair tie and letting it fall around your shoulders. He seemed to like how it looked, running it through his fingers multiple times before gently moving it aside to expose your neck and pressing his mouth against your pulse. Humming quietly you leaned into the touch enjoying the feeling. How many times had you imagined something like this? How many times had you thought about Antonio standing before you, allowing you to touch him, and kiss him as you pleased?
"Antonio?"
"Hmm?"
"You still have your jeans on."
"Mmm.." Chuckling you reached down pulled on the sides of his jeans, slowly pulling him round, pushing him to sit on the bed.
"Hey... I was enjoying myself there." Pulling his jeans off, you pushed him onto his back and straddled his lap.
"Well I thought you might enjoy this a bit more hmm?" Placing his hands on your hips you leaned closer so your lips barely brushed against his.
"I thought that maybe... you'd like to be the one cuffed for a change hmm?" His grin widened, sitting up a little he reached to his jeans pulled out his cuffs.
"Yes ma'am." Your eyes gleamed at them, reaching up to take them 'Tonio grabbed your wrist clipped one cuff on, pushed you onto your back and cuffed your other hand.
"HEY!" you protested loudly, as he kneeled between your legs he placed your hands above your head.
"Hey yourself..." running his hands down your body he stopped at your hips.
"You know... it took everything I had in me not to kiss you in that hallway today." His eyes continued to roam over your body along with his hands, looking up at you he smiled at the look on your face.
"Surprised?"
"I am... I just... I..." Licking your lips your breathing became heavy, your body tingling. It was only occurring to you now the situation you was in, cuffed, partially naked, Antonio kneeling between your shaking legs. 'Tonio tilted his head slightly, teasingly tracing his fingers on the inside of your thigh.
"Nervous?" His voice was a whisper, you could see how excited he was already. Throat going dry you shook your head,
"Not at all Detective." You didn't have a moment to think, before you knew it 'Tonio was kissing you fiercely, one hand gripping onto your ass the other pulling your leg around him. Raising your arms you placed them around his neck, digging your fingers into him. Antonio smiled into the kiss, raising his hand to lift your arms off of him and pinning them above your head.
"Uh-uh, you gotta be patient babe." Keeping your hands pinned above you, he ran his other hand down your side hooking his fingers into the edge of your panties slowly dragging them down your thighs. Moving his way down your body, he gently bit into your hips, running his tongue over the bite. Looking down at the site before you, you felt your breath stop in your chest. 'Tonio shifted himself further down, placing your legs over his shoulders he didn't give you a moments pause before he pressed his tongue against your centre. You couldn't help the moan that was pulled from you, the feeling of Antonio's mouth on you, along with his rough hands against the soft skin of your thighs was the best thing you had felt in months. You clenched your hands tightly above you, all you wanted to do was reach down and grab onto him, touch him in anyway you could. He kept up a pace just right to keep you on edge for what felt like forever.
"Please... 'Tonio... I can't." You couldn't keep still any more, even with Antonio holding your hips down, your skin was burning with excitement and you needed a release. Smirking, 'Tonio pulled himself up, looking down at your flushed face.
"You need something babe?"
"You... Detective... I need you... now." Leaning in to kiss you, 'Tonio pulled off his boxers and settled himself between your legs again. Raising one hand he pinned your wrists down, and trailed the other down your side.
"Please!" You begged, it was driving you mad to have him this close to you, to feel him and not be able to have him how you wanted.
"Mmm... I like it when you beg mi amor." Pulling your leg up over his hip, 'Tonio slowly pushed into you. Your eyes closed as you felt bliss slowly spread through your body. He seemed to catch his breath as he bottomed out, his hand twitching on your thigh.
"Christ Antonio..." Tilting your head, you saw he had also closed his eyes. You pressed a kiss to his jaw, then bit him gently. Pulling himself up a little, he looked down at you his eyes blown. Humming quietly to himself, he ran his tongue over his bottom lip before leaning in to kiss you. Shifting his hips, he started to move slowly causing you to moan into the kiss. Pulling your arms up again you placed them around Antonio's neck, tangling your fingers in his hair. Lifting your hips up slightly, you started to meet his movements with your own. Reaching down, he lifted one of your legs up over the crook of his arm, his pace quickening.
"Fuck... (Y/N), you feel so good." Huffing out a small laugh, you pulled on his hair slightly tugging him down to you, your voice merely a whisper.
"Then go faster papi." Antonio let out a low growl, pinning your hip down he started to move quicker, reaching back, you gripped onto the headboard. His mouth was on you, fiercely kissing you until your lungs burned through lack of air. You knew you would have a bruise on your hip from how hard he was gripping you, not to mention the bruises that would no doubt circle your wrists from the cuffs.
"(Y/N)... I'm so close."
"Me too... just... I need." Glancing down between you, Antonio understood what you wanted. Shifting his hand from your thigh, he started to circle your clit, pressing harder to match his thrust. White lights seemed to burst behind your eyes, your legs wrapping tightly around 'Tonio's waist.
"Antonio!" Calling his name you couldn't help but sink your teeth into his shoulder as you came, gripping onto him as your climax pulled you into a blissful state. 'Tonio followed close after you, your name falling from his lips as though a prayer, his head dropped into the dip of your neck. You didn't remember him stopping, just that the world around you became quiet, your hands has loosened their grip on his flushed skin, your head pressed gently against his.
"You with me Dawson?" You managed to mutter against him.
"Mmmhmm." Shifting himself he laid next to you, reaching for his jeans to grab the key to the cuffs. Offering your hands to him, he deftly unlocked them with the skill of a man who had done that a thousand times in his life.
"Ah shit (Y/N) your wrists." Sitting up a little, worry filled his face as he looked at the purple rings already forming on your wrists.
"Hey... don't worry I'll be fine. I've got some really good makeup that will cover these over." He glanced up at your face, his eyes filled with guilt.
"What if it doesn't?" Grinning, you winked at him,
"Well then I will just have to tell people that this new guy I'm seeing is a filthy bastard, amazing in bed and enjoys cuffing me." A small smirk flittered over his handsome face.
"Amazing huh?" Pulling him down, you kissed him deeply.
"Very amazing... although I may need to go a few more rounds... just to be sure." Eyes widening at your comment, you grinned widly.
"Well... maybe after we sleep off this long ass day we've just had, and after that... I think I'm going to sleep for a week." Smiling, Antonio leaned down and placed a kiss on each of your wrists, then turned and kissed you softly.
"Sounds good to me mi amor." Pulling you close to him, he wrapped his arm around you as you managed to pull up the duvet. Snuggling down, you felt Antonio's breathing become even as he slowly fell asleep. Humming quietly, you pressed a kiss to his chest glimpsing the marks you had left on him. Hopefully, he had a lot of high neck shirts to wear until it went down. Grinning to yourself, you settled down against him enjoying the feeling of finally having Detective Dawson all to yourself.

Just friends
Warnings: Swearing
Chapter two
Tumblr media
Becoming impatient, you bounce your knee while waiting for Voight to arrive. Adam called his boss after you finished breakfast and briefly explained the situation. Voight agreed right away and was currently driving over with Antonio.
“Nice place you’ve got here.”
Adam lets out a sarcastic laugh. “Oh yeah, the dirty dishes and mountain of laundry really add to the decor.”
Feeling restless, you stand up and walk around his living room. Adam suggested you meet at his apartment; that way, if anyone saw you with him, you could easily play it off as a hookup. You smile at the picture pinned to his fridge of him and a brunette woman posing. “She has a beautiful smile; who is she?”
“That’s my girl, Kim.”
“Where did you guys meet?”
Adam nervously scratches at his beard and says, “Work. She's a cop in my district.”
Laughing, you toss the dish towel hanging beside you at him. “I thought you’d know better than to get involved with someone you work with.”
“Yeah, yeah. How’s your dad and Eli doing?”
You gulp down a mouthful of cold water before pulling at the label covering the bottle. “Eli’s fine—great, actually—and my dad's just the same. Having a kid in the house again is good for him.”
Adam gives you a sympathetic look but doesn’t ask any more questions. You make small talk until Adam gets a text. “That’s them here," he says as he walks towards his door, ready to open it, saying, “Just remember not to be nervous. Hank and Antonio can be a little intense and dark at times, but they are good guys, and if you want, I can do most of the talking for you.”
You struggled to hold back a laugh. Adam was being so sweet and protective, and yet he was in for a surprise. Antonio walks in and gives you a polite nod before greeting his colleague. Hank walks in with a serious expression on his face that softens the moment his eyes land on you.
Adam clears his throat. “Boss, this is—”
“Detective Love,” Hank pulls you in for a hug. “It’s good to see you, kid.”
“You too, Hank; it’s been a while.”
Tumblr media
“Don’t drink anything the brunette waitress called Beck gives you; it’s spiked. All the rooms have hidden cameras. Be safe.” Antonio holds the note you placed in the uniforms between his fingers, “so there’s no safe space to talk inside? What about the staff changing rooms or bathrooms?”
“All bathrooms have cameras facing the sinks, and there are hearing devices in the changing rooms.”
Hank nods. “Before we go any further with this, we all agree that nothing that’s said leaves this room.”
All three of you nod.
“Now that’s sorted, Viola, tell me how you got into a club owned by Hector Vasquez; last I heard you were a detective in robbery-homicide.”
“I volunteered when I heard Nat Dickson was back in town.”
“I’m guessing since you’ve been undercover for a while, Nat’s still out there.”
Rage boils deep within your veins; “bastards have been keeping a low profile.”
“Who’s Nat Dickson? I don’t think I’ve heard that name before,” Antonio says.
“He’s wanted for human trafficking in New York. Viola, you should have come to me when you heard he was back in Chicago.”
“You were in prison.”
“Fair enough, but I’m here now.” He turns to face Adam and Antonio and says, “Nat Dickson is scum and extremely dangerous. Trust me, if you’re ever in a run-in with him, do your best to shoot and ask questions later.”
“Nat is part owner of the club, but his share is under a fake name, Lewis Archer. Jasper gives him a large amount of cash along with a bag of guns once a month, but the date, time, and location are always different.”
Adam’s eyes widened with interest as he looked through some paperwork: “The club is full of drugs and has been busted twice in the last month, but only one arrest has been made, and that was for public intoxication.”
“Jasper’s got eyes on the inside.”
Anger flashes behind Antonio’s eyes. “You're telling us a dirty cop is ripping him off for police raids?”
“Dirty as they come,” you say, clicking your tongue. “But I’ve no idea who or how many cops are mixed up in this.”
Tumblr media
“Is Nat still selling girls?
You chew on your bottom lip as Hank drives you back to the other side of town, where your car is parked. “If he is, he’s doing it in another location.”
“Tell me about this Beck who spikes people’s drinks.”
“Every so often she spikes men with sleeping pills, takes them into a back room with the promise of having sex, and robs them. She takes everything, from wallets to wedding rings. I’ve tried reporting her anonymously twice before, and each time it’s bounced.”
“Sounds like there’s more than one dirty cop involved. I’m going to have Ruzek stay on the bad-dope trail while you continue gathering evidence of Beck drugging and robbing men; I have a feeling they are contacted.”
“And Dawson?”
Hank turns a sharp corner, the tension in his shoulders obvious. “I want you to stay close to Antonio. Don’t get me wrong, Adam’s a good cop, but Antonio has been deep undercover before, so he knows what it’s like. Plus, he’ll watch your back without getting emotional.”
“I understand and thank you.”
“It’s what my team does; we watch out for each other.” He lets out a small chuckle and says, “I also have an ulterior motive.”
“What’s that?”
“Once this case is closed, I want you in intelligence.”

Antonio Dawson x Reader
Requested by: anon
#13&#23 with Antonio Dawson Chicago PD form your prompt list #1. Thank you Sweetie!
#13. "You should've came with a warning, cause it's crazy how you make all these sexual jokes."... "I actually did come with a warning."
#23. "Are you blushing?"... "Noooo, I just look like a bright red tomato, of course I am, you idiot!"
Warning: funny sexual content, maybe some small cursing here and there.
___________________
The music played softly in the background of the truck, and Antonio was blushing deep red as he tried to contain a moan. You gently bit his lips and slightly pulled away and gave him a small coy smile.
“What’s the status, stud.” You breathed out. Antonio blushed even redder and you can hear through the earpieces of the others laughing loudly, Antonio just scoffed, and he looked sideways, waiting for the incoming car they were expecting.
The whole team was in a small stakeout, waiting to take down a suspect that they’ve been chasing down about a week now. You guys had finally gotten down a major lead and currently you were straddling your Antonio’s lap, pretending to be those naughty couple in the truck, waiting on the suspect.
“Shut up guys.” Antonio growled lowly, you just giggled and started to kiss his cheek and down to his cheek. “Oh, dear god, this is the last time I’m letting Voight put me with you.”
You just snorted and leaned back to look at him. “C’mon Antonio, live a little. The others are just jealous they aren’t doing what you’re doing now.” you teased. You heard Voight snort from the com.
“Try to keep it professional. We don’t want you to attract attention.” He teased. You let out a dramatical gasp.
“Oh my, my, my, did our great Sarge Hank Voight make a joke?” You teased back, Antonio chuckled, the others were laughing and hollering, but a minute later that disappeared when a car came speeding into the house.
You quickly managed to rearrange your sitting position on Antonio’s lap, body sideways just in case you had to quickly sit back in your seat, You threw your head back just as lights hit yours and Antonio’s face, face morphed in ecstasy, as you continued your “moment”.
“He’s looking over here.” Antonio muttered as he continued to kiss your neck and such you turned your face to capture him in a kiss. You just let out a small hum, and your hand reached out for your gun and then grabbed Antonio’s and placed it on his hand which was on your lap.
“He’s suspecting us.” Adam voiced through the com, you let out a small hum, reaching down to the small latch that will the seat go down. Antonio opened his eye a little, and noticed the men grabbing out their guns.
“He has gun guys.” Jay said. You opened your eyes, and pulled away slightly, still making it like you were both still making out, and Antonio nodded. The suspect raised his gun.
“Now Y/N!” Antonio ordered, you pulled the small latch and Antonio threw his body back, as the shooting began.
“Take him out now!” You heard Voight yell. You were breathing hard, Antonio gripping your waist hard, making sure that your whole body was out of harm’s way.
“You good?” Antonio asked, you looked at him, gave him a small smile and nodded.
“Yeah, you?”
Antonio nodded. “Yeah.” You let out a small breath of relief, and leaned down to give him a small kiss, Antonio just huffed out a small laugh, just as the others arrived to help you both out the car.
*******************
Walking into the Molly’s you can hear the loud laughter that can only belong to Adam. You turned to where he was sitting and you saw that Will and Ethan were there, laughing along with Adam and Kevin, while Antonio tried not to blush.
Smiling you walked over to them. “Hello boys.” You greeted, walking over to Antonio and pecking his cheek, he looked at you surprised, but smiled. Adam and Kevin started to whoop, while you just gently slapped the back of their heads and greeted Ethan and Will.
“So, Y/N we heard that you had quite a job last night.” Ethan teased. You sat down in the empty chair and rolled your eyes.
“Oh Ethan.” You said, looking at Antonio, smirking now. “They’re just jealous that they didn’t get what Antonio got in that car.” You cooed. Antonio then blushed, and took a chug out of his beer, as only Ethan and Will laughed, while Kevin looked offended, and Adam pouted.
“You’re too much, you know that.” Will replied, taking a sip of his scotch, you turned to him and smiled innocently.
“I don’t know what you’re even talking about.” You replied. Antonio just shook his head, and you sent him a small wink. After a few minutes of talking, you excused yourself to go the bar, and ordered more drinks for you before you took off.
Antonio followed, and he leaned in, placing his hands on your waist, and whispered in your ear. "You should've came with a warning, cause it's crazy how you make all these sexual jokes.” You let out a small giggled and turned towards him, leaning even more closer.
"I actually did come with a warning." You teased him, kissing his cheek, and walking away swaying your hips, making sure he had a good view of your backside. Herrmann, and Otis stood there both staring at Antonio trying their best not to laugh, but once Antonio looked at them, they both started to laugh loudly.
“Don’t say a word.” Antonio warned.
Otis continued to laugh and wiped away his tears. “Oh man, I wished I had recorded this. Would’ve been perfect to show your sister, Gabby.”
Antonio just chuckled and grabbed the shot that Herrmann was offering to him, he turned back and noticed that you were leaving, he downed his drink he grabbed his jacket and rushed after you. The cool wind hit his face, and he looked around for you.
Y/N!” he yelled as he finally saw you, jogging towards you.
You spun around and just at you were about to see who had called you, you were pushed back towards your car, hungry lips locking on yours. You let out a muffled squeal, about to fight back the person who attacked you, when you noticed that it was Antonio.
You pulled away slightly and noticed that it was Antonio, smiling you slapped his shoulder and wrapped your arms around him. “Next time warn a person, Tonio.”
Antonio smirked. “Why? I would think you’d like the element of surprise.” He replied, smirking as his hands went to grab your backside, you let out a small gasp as you felt him squeeze it.
“Oh god” you said weakly as heat rushed to your cheeks, and all round your body. Antonio noticed and he looked at you in shock, and a smile began to form his face.
“Are you blushing? Is the great Y/N, actually blushing?” Antonio teased. You narrowed your eyes at him and stuck your tongue at him.
"Noooo, I just look like a bright red tomato, of course I am, you idiot!" You admitted, chuckling as well. Looking up at him, you looked at his face and then at it eyes and you couldn’t help the small smile that formed on your face. “You drive me crazy, Antonio Dawson.”
Antonio smiled down at you and he picked up, making you wrap your legs around him. “Yeah well I’m crazy about you too, so how about we take it back to your place, and we show each other how crazy about we are about each other and then I take you out to dinner.”
You smiled and just brought his lips up to yours. “Sounds like a great plan to me.”

New Start
Tumblr media
Request by @lifesaclimb-buttheviewisgreat (TRIGGER WARNING FOR MENTION OF DOMESTIC ABUSE)
You took a deep breath before walking up the stairs leading into the twenty first precinct. This was a new start not only for you but for your son Lucas as well.
When you walked through the door sergeant Platt glanced up but when she was about to look away she did a quick double take "Y/N?" She was around the desk and pulling you into a hug. You felt a smile slip onto your face at seeing such a familiar and welcoming face first thing.
"Hey Trudy. How have you and Mouch been?" You asked once she pulled away. She stared at you for a moment before smiling herself "We're good. How have you been? I know you went to stay with your aunt in Rockford for a while" you nodded "Yeah but you know Chicago's home. She got a chance to move back here and since she works from home it's perfect to be able to leave Lucas with someone I trust. When I started sniffing around about transferring back Al gave me a call saying that Voight needed a slot filled in intelligence so here I am"
"Well you know if you need anything me and Randy are always here to help. You're with family here and you know we'll have your back" you knew that. Hell you wouldn't have been alive today had it not been for the crew at firehouse 51. "Are my prints already in to get upstairs or do you need to walk me up?" You asked motioning up the stairs. "They're in but if you don't mind I'd like to walk you up and maybe see some new pictures of Lucas since I haven't seen him in a while"
You handed your phone over opened up to the most recent album of Lucas. Trudy followed you up the stairs commenting on every photo along the way. Once the two of you made it up to the bullpen she handed your phone back right before everyone turned to look at you. Luckily you knew most everyone you'd be working alongside but as far as you knew only Trudy, Al and Hank knew the real reason as to why you'd up and left the city.
Jay and Adam were the first two to your side welcoming you back and to the unit. Then it was Kim and Kevin. Hailey Upton Jay's new partner introduced herself with a smile before Al pulled you into a hug "Welcome home kid" "Where's Hank and Detective Dawson?" You asked about the time Hank's voice answered from behind you "Right here"
You turned to see him and Antonio walking up the stairs. You smiled "Well look here my first official day and already beating the boss to work" Antonio cracked a smile at your words. Very few people got away with teasing Hank Voight. He shook his head "Keep it up and you'll already be my favorite" then he motioned to Antonio "You know Antonio don't you?" You nodded "We've worked together in passing when I was on patrol out this precinct"
"Well you'll be working together more than in passing now. You'll be partnered with him" you held your hand out and when Antonio shook it he said "Look forward to working with you"
--------------------
You fit in seamlessly with the unit. It came from years of knowing most of them and from the trust that you had for Al and Hank.
The biggest surprise was just how smoothly you and Antonio worked together. Like you'd told Hank when you were assigned to the twenty first as a patrolman you'd worked with all of intelligence in passing but working side by side with Antonio you got to know him a lot better. The two of you had quickly become good friends.
You were currently sitting next to Jay on top of Hailey's desk while Hank did a run down of the perp all of you were currently after. "Y/N you and Dawson will be undercover to do a gun buy. Far as he knows Antonio is a big player in the mexican cartel and you're his girl" you leaned around Jay and winked at Antonio "Why can't I be the player and you be the arm candy?"  "How's your spanish partner?" He asked with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes and said "Sé lo suficiente como para no atrapar una bala" Hailey covered her mouth with her hand and a grin slipped onto Jay and Adam's faces. "Let's try to do more besides not catching a bullet though?" Antonio suggested so you shrugged "Fine ruin all my fun. Just saying you would've looked better in the outfit"
--------------------
A few hours later you were standing in a warehouse waiting for the crime scene techs to roll on scene.
"Good job Y/N" Antonio said with a smile offering you your jacket from his car considering the outfit you'd had to wear to be convincing as a cartel members girlfriend wouldn't be your chosen style. "Thanks Toni. Still think you'd look better in this outfit" he tilted his head to the side looking over you and you felt your cheeks try to warm but pushed it down by laughing when he said "Don't think I got the legs for that"
Your phone started vibrating in the jacket pocket so you pulled it out to see it was your aunt. "I gotta take this" you told Antonio and walked outside nodding to a few officers you knew along the way.
"Is everything ok?" You asked as soon as you answered and heard your aunt let out a sigh "Yeah baby everything's fine. Lucas just refuses to go to sleep without hearing your voice" you smiled feeling the knot in your stomach release "Let me talk to him" you heard the phone shuffle a bit before Lucas said "Mommy?" "Hey little man. Aunt Ann said you wanted to talk to me. I'll be home in a couple hours and I promise I'll be there for breakfast ok?" "Ok. Love you" "Love you more" you heard him hand the phone back to Ann then run off. She laughed at something he did before saying "He just wanted to check in. I'll see you when you get home"  "See you then" you said and hung up.
"Lucas checking in?" Antonio asked from behind you. You turned with a smile "Glad he waited so long to call. Ann would've freaked if I hadn't answered. I need to get her Trudy's new number so if I'm out and can't answer" "I feel like there's something all of us besides Trudy, Hank and Al have missed" you ducked your head to not meet his gaze. Something about Antonio had put you at ease even back when you were in uniform going through hell at home. Now you were so grateful to not only him but all the guys in the unit for their nature.
"Maybe I'll end up telling you Dawson" he watched you for a second then nodding scratching at the bit of scruff on his chin from missing a shave "I've got Diego and Eva this weekend. Was thinking of going to the zoo. If you, Lucas and Ann want to come we'd be glad for the company"  you bit your lip considering his offer then nodded "Sounds good. Forewarning Lucas will probably not to leave the tigers" Antonio grinned "That was Diego's favorite when he was that age too"
---------------------
You were walking a bit behind Ann and the kids. She was in heaven pushing Lucas in his stroller and chatting with Eva and Diego. She always loved kids more than having to deal with adults.
"Having fun partner?" Antonio asked and you heard Lucas giggle when Diego handed him a stuffed tiger from the gift shop "Very much" you answered with a smile glancing at Antonio then took a deep breath "You've never asked about his dad" he stopped walking for a second and turned to look at you "Didn't figure it was my business. You'll tell me if you want me to know"
Ann looked back to see where you were and smiled when she saw you talking to Antonio "Y/N We're gonna head to the cafe and go ahead and grab a table" you nodded "We'll catch up" Eva took over Lucas' stroller and you watched them walk off then turned back to Antonio "Do you want to know?" You asked and he ran a hand across the back of his neck "I wanna know why you flinch at times if one of us guys goes to high five you yet you have no problem taking down a suspect heads taller than you. I wanna know why you hate when anyone close to you yells. Strangers I've noticed doesn't bother you but when Hank yelled last week I saw him look straight at you afterwards then he apologized later"
"My ex. Lucas' father was abusive. It started off verbal and emotional abuse. That turned physical sometime around my sixth month. When I was eight and a half months pregnant he hit me hard enough I blacked out. When I woke up the house was on fire and I was trapped. Had it not been for Kelly Severide and Joe Cruz me nor Lucas would be standing here today"
You hadn't realized you were crying until Antonio tentatively pulled you into his arms. When he felt you relax against his chest he started to gently rub your back. "Y/N You are such an amazing woman. You're one of the best cops I know and you're a fricking super mom to that little boy. He deserves to burn in hell for ever laying a hand on you" you laughed despite the tears in your eyes "He got life plus two. Not to mention Hank and Al knows some of the fellas he's in with" "Good" Antonio said then smiled down at you "Let's go find Ann and the kids cause Eva has my debit card and they very well might just leave us here"
You laughed and pulled away from him "Well is now a bad time to mention Ann has the keys to my car?"
--------------------
After that day your relationship with Antonio started to shift. You worked beautifully as partners still but there was something else there brewing under the surface. Maybe it was the fact that Lucas started wanting to talk to Antonio as well when he'd call before bed when you were working later. Or maybe it was how Eva and Diego started wanting to stay with their dad more and more half of the time ending up staying at your place with Ann and Lucas after Antonio cleared it with Laura once with a reply from her of "I don't care. If she's your partner her aunt must be ok"
--------------------
You were sitting cross legged on top of Antonio's desk working through the stack of files you were digging through. He'd went with Adam to meet a C.I. so you were doing the paper trail part. "When are you gonna admit you have a thing for him?" Hailey whispered leaning over you to grab a few more files "When you admit you have a thing for Jay" you responded laughing when she blushed darker red than your shirt and scurried back to her desk.
Did you have some confusing feelings for Antonio? Maybe. It just seemed like at every turn he was there to support any move you made.
When you chose to finally tell the rest of the unit why you'd left Chicago and what the scars on your left shoulder was from he'd stood next to you. When Lucas got sick a few weeks after that he'd come to med and stayed with you until Lucas was released then went to pick up his medicine so you could take him straight home. When Eva got her heart broke because her boyfriend broke up with her Antonio had called you at her request and didn't seem the least bit put off by her wanting you to comfort her.
Somewhere along the line you'd crossed a line and didn't have any clue what to do about.
--------------------
Another week passed and your thoughts hadn't changed a lot. In fact the feelings for Antonio had seemed to grow deeper. You just had no clue how he felt.
You were sitting on the side of Lucas' bed next to him reading the book he'd chosen to him. "Mommy?" He asked and you smiled "Yeah baby?" "Do you like Toni?" You stared open mouthed at your three year old. "How do you mean baby? I mean he's my friend and my partner" "No I mean can Toni be my daddy?" You were speechless for a few seconds then finally managed to say "Lucas baby that's a loaded question little man" "I like Toni" he said with a yawn then scooted further down in his bed and you knew that meant he'd be out soon.
You turned off his bedroom light then walked in the living room where Ann was watching a movie. She glanced up when you walked in then paused the movie "Y/N? You're pale sweetheart. Come sit down"
You sat heavily next to her and was quiet for several long seconds until she finally said "Dammit tell me what's wrong?" You repeated what Lucas said and she cracked up laughing "And that surprises you? For months now every weekend and half the weekdays Eva and Diego end up staying here. They're spending so much time with Lucas Eva's phone background is a selfie with her and both boys. I have seen you come back. My niece the beautiful, strong woman who's went through hell is finally smiling again, you sleep most nights, you don't flinch when you hear a firetruck. You're healing and I think some of that is the very loud fact that you're in love with Antonio and him with you even if you haven't admitted it to each other or yourselves"
You let her words sink in and felt the truth of them like a weight being pulled off your shoulders "What the hell am I supposed to do?" She shook her head with another laugh "If what Eva says is true he'll tell you eventually how he feels because apparently he talks about you to the kids like a lot"
---------------------
You tried not to let Ann's words get to you too much. You still had to keep your head on straight. A couple more weeks passed and everything changed.
The raid was supposed to be simple enough but somehow you and Kevin got pinned down in the back of a building with bullets raining down on you.
By some miracle the situation was able to be contained with no one ending up dead. You were standing next to Kevin recounting what had went down for Hank when you spotted Antonio heading your way. Hank went to talk to one of the scene techs and Kevin walked off to talk to Al so you turned to face Antonio who pulled you into a crushing hug.
"Toni you good?" You asked against his chest and he nodded "Yeah I am now" you pulled back to look at him and saw the worry in his eyes and realized that was for you. "I'm ok partner" you assured him and he nodded "I'm glad. I don't know what I would've done if I'd lost you" "Antonio?" You said it like a question but Hank was calling both of you so he said "Can we talk after shift?" You nodded then followed him over to Hank.
--------------------
When your shift ended you walked downstairs and was leaning against your car when Antonio made it to the parking lot. "It's after shift" you said as soon as you saw him and he shook his head "Not here. Let's go grab a coffee. I already told Ann" you rolled your eyes at him and your aunt teaming up on you. "Fine but we gotta stop by the bakery and get Lucas something plus you can grab some muffins since Eva and Diego will be at your place tomorrow" He smiled and said "Sounds good"
--------------------
You sat across from Antonio watching as he stirred his coffee. The two of you were sitting in a corner booth of your favorite coffee shop and he'd done everything but talk. When he reached to stir his coffee again you laid your hand over his to stop any movement. His eyes went from your hand up to your face and he smiled "I said we'd talk didn't I?" "Yes you did" you replied.
He let out a breath then dove right in "Y/N since you became my partner. Everything is better. I look forward to seeing you every day. I meant it when I said you're an amazing woman. You and Lucas mean the world to me. I couldn't imagine my life without you and him in it. Hell i think Eva and Diego would disown me for you and him at this point. Today? You and Kev getting caught like that and me not being able to get to you? It clarified something I already knew"
"And that would be?" You asked your heart beating in your throat at this point. You saw a blush work it's way up his face to his ears before he said "I think I'm in love with you" you were stunned silent. Did he really mean that?
He mistook your silence for something else and went to stand up "It doesn't have to change our friendship I'll still be there for you and Lucas and I hope you'll be there for Diego and Eva especially since I just got full custody but I just needed to tell you" you snapped out of it fast enough to grab his hand and pull him back to you "Antonio wait!" He met your eyes and must have liked what he saw there because a smile slipped onto his face "I love you too. Lucas loves you too and I will always be there for Diego and Eva"
"Does that mean I can finally kiss you?" He asked his eyes flicking down to your lips then back up. You didn't try to hide your smile when you said "I'd be offended if you didn't"
-------------------------
Three years passed and you were sitting in front of the fireplace on Christmas morning watching the kids open presents. Diego was showing Lucas how to work his video games while Eva snapped photos of her brothers on her new phone.
"Is that all?" Antonio asked from his position next to the tree and you cut your eyes at Eva "Want to grab that last one for your dad?" She nodded and grabbed Lucas' hand "C'mon Luca let's go get daddy his present" Antonio cut his eyes at you when all three kids disappeared "What'd you do?" You grinned "you'll see"
They came back with Eva carrying the present but she handed it to Lucas to give Antonio then sat next to you leaning her head over on her shoulder. Antonio looked a bit suspicious until he tore open the package and his eyes teared up. Inside was the paperwork you'd gotten a week before where Lucas' adoption had become final. "Lucas Dawson" he said quietly then laid it to the side "C'mere buddy" and Lucas jumped into his arms with a laugh "You're officially my daddy!"
You felt Diego and Eva both hug you "And we love you like a mom Y/N" you smiled at your little family then said "I couldn't love any of you more than I already do"

Flirting with Danger (2/2)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Antonio Dawson x Reader
Warnings: Swearing, Drinking,PG Fluff, think that’s it…
AN: Ending to this little request, I really enjoyed writing this so hope everyone enjoys. Love to everyone and hope everyone is safe. xx
Could you please do an Antonio Dawson x halstead!reader where they both like each other but Antonio won’t do anything because it’s Jays sister. And he sees her talking to someone at Mollys and gets jealous? Thanks x
Molly’s was busy tonight, Herrmann in his constant bid to fill the bar with new customers had organised some live music from a group who’s name you couldn’t recall. It meant that a lot of the standard regulars had retreated to the booths around the edge of the bar grumbling about the general noise and new faces.
You were meant to be meeting Sylvie but she’d already called to say she was stuck at the hospital waiting to sign over responsibility of patient.
So, you were sat at the bar, laughing at Herrmann who was trying desperately to identify 3 cocktails that a group of very out of place high fashion women had ordered.
“Try Gin” you fake whispered to him as he routed around for bottles under the bar.
“Gin?” his head popped up to look at you in desperation. “You think it needs Gin?”
“Negroni is Gin based Herrmann”
“You know about this fancy stuff?”
You were getting a bad feeling about the sudden look in his eyes. “Maybe…”
“Help me” he reached out to grab your wrist. “I’ll give you whatever you want, just help!”
You really didn’t want to get up and go behind the other side of the bar, you did not want to get roped into helping Herrmann on what was bound to be his busiest night for months. However, on the other hand you were a little worried about just how desperate he looked. You weren’t sure what he’d do if you said no.
“Whatever I want?”
Herrmann sensing victory nodded instantly. “You got it darling, anything you want”
“Fine” slipping off your stool you went around the corner of the bar and ducked under the counter to join Herrmann on the other side. “You’re going to owe me big time though”
Herrmann didn’t seem concerned about that and left you doing the more complicated orders, one that didn’t just require him to pop the top off a bottle.
In turned out that actually you were quite enjoying yourself, the customers were in a good mood, the music wasn’t turning out too badly and even the arrival of the intelligence division hadn’t upset you too much.
Jay had laughed and simply ordered the most complicated thing he could think off, which, because it was Jay, wasn’t all that complicated. The others had also just grinned, all of them of course apart from Antonio Dawson.
The only one who was managing to ruin your night, because you were fairly certain he hadn’t stopped staring at you since they had sat down. You were doing your best to just ignore him but his gaze almost felt like a weight on your back.
You’d also seemingly gotten another fan because the paused band had come over to the bar and the drummer wasn’t even trying to be subtle about the fact that he was flirting with you.
Unfortunately, he was probably still in college and you didn’t date people who’s combined digits didn’t add up to more than 5. Even so, it was flattering and it hurt no one to indulge in flirting straight back. Nor, considering that you weren’t actually an employee here, did it hurt to take the drink he offered to buy for you.
You made yourself a rum and coke and handed him the beer he’d ordered before leaning over the bar to smile at him.
“I should ask you for ID”
“C’mon darling” he smiled “I'm not that young”
Sure, he wasn’t. Once again though you resorted to the ‘I don’t work here’ excuse. Anyway, you were pretty certain that Herrmann would have checked their ID before he hired them.
“Younger than me”
“I like older women. They know what their doing”
You couldn’t help the laugh at that line, he’d accompanied it with such a fake lewd smile that you knew he was joking. “You’re cute kid”
“I can work with cute”
“Oh you can huh?”
“Hey!” Herrmann came bustling up to your side. “Y/N I ain’t paying you to flirt. Leave the kid alone, he has to play”
“You aren’t paying me at all Herrmann” you grouched turned to glare at the fireman. “and who says I was flirting”
“You weren’t?” both of the men asked at the same time. Albeit with very different reasons.
Herrmann recovered first. “Scram kid, back to your drum kit. She’s taken”
This time it was you to say “what?”
Herrmann nodded his head over to where intelligence were sat and your blood instantly started to boil because you knew full well what Herrmann was getting at with that previous statement.
The drummer had looked over as well and obviously decided you weren’t worth fighting with Antonio for, especially not if he was doing his murder face, which he probably was. Without another word he grabbed his beer and slunk off back towards his band mates.
Herrmann instantly held his hands up in front of him when you directed your eyes that way.
“Not my fault sweetheart” he said instantly, “nothing to do with me…”
“Y/N”
Herrmann trailed off and quickly made himself busy at the other end of the bar. While you slowly turned around to face Antonio.
“What?”
“Can we talk?”
“About what?”
Antonio sighed rubbing his face in aggravation. “Don’t make me drag you out Y/N”
“Try it” you hissed, eyes flicking over Antonio to where Jay was still sat. “I can scream real loud and you know allllllllllll about my brother”
A war of indecision played out on his face until finally resolve settled and reaching over he grabbed your wrist and yanked you out from behind the bar and dragged you behind him towards the door.
Making the most of your previous warning you did scream for Jay who jerked his head towards you whole body tense to run for you, unfortunately he then saw what was happening and a shit eating grin spread over his face as he relaxed and simply shrugged his shoulders in a ‘what can I do’ sort of way.
Antonio pushed you out the door and backed you into the wall of the back of the bar, hand placed on either side of your head so he could lean into you. With any other male you’d be scared, worried about what he was going to do.
Dawson though?
He wouldn’t hurt you, ever. You knew that. It was that knowledge that was keeping you furiously angry instead.
“What the fuck are you doing Toni?” you snapped rubbing at your wrist. “Dragging people behind you like some sort of dog. Acting like you have some sort of right to dictate who I talk to? Who I can flirt with? What gives you the GODAMNED RIGHT!?”
You were thumping rather ineffectually at his chest during this tirade and apparently your brain had decided it was also ok to start crying. You were going to blame that on an over flow of alcohol from the previous night and just too much confusion about what Antonio wanted from you.
“Shit, sweetheart” his thumb wiped the tears away from your left cheek. “Don’t cry”
“Don’t call me that”
“Why not?”
“It isn’t true” you sniffed managing to get your tears under control. “I'm not…”
Your words got cut off because Toni had leant down the final inches between you and claimed your mouth in a kiss that seared you all the way from the top of your head to your toes. The hands you’d had bunched up to thump him now clung to the material of his shirt holding him close to you as he put one arm around your waist and the other tunnelling into your hair.
“You are” he spoke against your lips. “No more of this trying to ignore you or saying it won’t work because of Jay. None of it”
“None?”
“You’re mine darling, and that’s the end of it”
“I'm not a possession Toni”
He kissed the tip of your nose, the arm around your waist moved down, hand palming your ass and cancelling out the sweet gesture of kissing your nose. “Must be the caveman in me darling, he’s fairly certain you are his”
“Really?”
“Totally”
“And what? He’s going to club me over the head and drag me back to his cave?”
Antonio grinned “I'm not adverse to that idea” He seemed to be thinking for a moment. “I don’t have a club though; would you settle for handcuffs?”
There was another loaded statement if you ever heard one. One that you refrained from answering instead lifting yourself up on tiptoe you settled on kissing him again instead.

ICU - Antonio Dawson
Request: Would you be able to do Antonio Dawson imagine, where your a firefighter and get hurt? Please!
A/N: gn!reader, I don’t think I used any gender defining language.
Chicago One Masterlist
✰ ✰ ✰ ✰
“Talk to Casey.”
The words rung over and over in your head like an alarm, blaring in the same flashing red that you could just make out over the fog that was settling in. Or maybe that was smoke. Thick and gray, seeping into cracks that you couldn’t see and muddling your ability to do your job. The shrill ringing from the alarm on your jacket was a reminder that amongst the decaying building you were there, unresponsive aside from shallow breaths.
Someone called your name through the haze but you couldn’t tell who it was. Only that they grabbed your wrists and pulled, dragging your limp body through the hallway of the seventh floor, toward a window. Shouting sounded muffled in your ears, like everyone around you was whispering and even as they maneuvered your body down the ladder you could only see smoke.
“Talk to Casey.”
It was rhythmic, following along the pattern of the machine that was monitoring your pulse as Gabby and Shay lifted you into the back of the ambulance. All you knew was that your body felt like it was jostling through a roller coaster built for children at a state fair. Rickety but predictable. You thought you heard Antonio’s name but you couldn’t focus long enough to be certain.
It was his voice though, that the words sounded like. He’d spoken them earlier in the morning, before you left for work, while you were brushing your teeth with the tooth brush, he’d not so subtly bought for you to use on the days you stayed over. It was most days, though both of you downplayed the seriousness of your relationship to anyone outside of it. Antonio’d only been separated for a short amount of time, you could imagine what people would say if they knew.
But knowing was the least of your problems.
“Talk to Casey,” he’d been repeating himself for a week. Every time you mentioned the candidate that had joined Engine 51. “If you don’t feel like this guy has your back-”
“Look, I’m just venting Tony, it’s nothing okay?” You hadn’t just been venting and it was becoming a fairly serious problem. The new kid was around Pete’s age, son of a cop, and he had a lot of problems that he expected the world to fix for him. You weren’t one to rock the boat and you got along with everyone else at the station but this one was proving nearly impossible.
“You need to be able to trust the guy going through the door with you.” He stressed.
“Tell me that when you aren’t working for Hank Voight,” you knew it was unfair to bring up the tense relationship that had only been worsening lately. Antonio was trying to keep his head above water and you admired him for it, honestly. But you weren’t in the mood to talk when all you wanted to do was go to work.
Maybe, your first lucid thought told you, if you’d actually stayed a little longer and talked to Antonio you wouldn’t be lying in a hospital bed. If you had gone to Casey the twenty times before that Antonio had told you the exact same thing maybe, just maybe, you wouldn’t be in this position. Laying in the ICU in Med, throat dry and the distinct numbness of your left arm indicating the severity of the burn you’d sustained, the only thing you could hear was the sound of machines and Antonio’s voice, loud enough to carry through the glass doors.
You couldn’t make out exactly what he was saying, brain far too muddled for that, but you knew his voice anywhere. And you could tell that he sounded angry, the sort of angry you’d only witnessed once or twice in the entire time you’d known Antonio and never aimed at you.
What you couldn’t see was the absolute chaos in the hallway outside your room. Most of Engine 51 had gathered after shift to make sure that you were alright, including the son-of-a-cop candidate that put you in the hospital in the first place. He’d broken a window on the seventh floor of the apartment building, sending in a rush of oxygen and causing an explosion that had nearly knocked you unconscious, pinned your arm under a fallen beam, and landed you here.
His presence wasn’t much appreciated by anyone but especially not by Antonio. He’d practically raced from 21 over here and seeing that dumbass candidate that you complained about every day, that Gabby told him had caused the accident, had him practically throwing punches in the ICU waiting area.
“Who the fuck do you think you are coming in here and accusing me of not doing my job!” The kid shouted, as if he could take on Antonio, as if anyone there in that hallway would back him.
“The only reason they’re in there is because you didn’t do your job!” Antonio snapped, pushing against Gabby as she tried to shove him back down the hall. Casey was grabbing at the other guy, practically dragging him away from the fight.
“Antonio!” Gabby hissed, finally getting him far enough away from everyone else that he could calm down. “This, isn’t helping!”
“I’ve been saying for weeks, “talk to Casey” and then I get a call from you that that bastard fucking put them in the hospital?” He said, voice still raised in anger. “And I show up to see him here?”
“Casey and Boden will handle it, you need to be here for them, okay? And the last thing they need is you freaking out in the hallway!” She replied.
“Hey!” Mouch called, walking down the hall to meet Gabby and Antonio, “they’re awake...Natalie said one at a time...figured you’d wanna go in first.”
Antonio nodded, huffing out a breath and running his hand through his hair. He’d been jittery since Gabby called, buzzing like he’d had too much caffeine. All he’d wanted since he walked in was to see you and now that Mouch was finally telling him that he could, he felt like he was frozen in place.
Gabby touched his shoulder, nodding to him to follow Mouch back down the hallway. Antonio squeezed her hand before doing just that, walking back to your room. Everyone else was still standing in the hallway outside, hovering around and waiting for their own chance to go inside, Casey and the new guy the only ones missing.
Your hospital door slide open and you shifted in bed to look over, a weak smile at the sight of your boyfriend coming in. Natalie had promised she’d get him for you when she came in to check your vitals and realized you’d woken up and you were relieved to see him now. Antonio was the first thing that came to mind after the blast as you laid there in the apartment building.
“Hey,” your voice was hoarse from being intubated before.
“Hey baby,” he came over to the bed and grabbed your hand, careful of the IV, “you scared the shit outta me.”
“Yeah, I heard,” you were too drained to actually laugh but you managed a smile as you met his eyes.
“That asshole had it coming...showing up here. Gabby told me what happened. I’m gonna talk to Casey-”
“Antonio,” you cut him off, squeezing his hand again, “just sit with me?” You knew he had a tendency to want to fix things, make things right when someone did something wrong but all you wanted to do was be there with him.
He nodded, taking a seat on the side of your bed and leaning over to kiss your forehead, just beside a bandage above your eyebrow. “I’m right here, I’m not leaving.”
