i knew that i liked march madness for more than just basketball, but i don't think it was until just now, learning that greg gumbel will not be hosting this year, that i realized actually my favorite part of it is the commentary. which in retrospect seems obvious. but like, first jim nantz retires, now greg gumbel has to take time off? what is even the point??? sure there will still be basketball...i guess that's okay, as a consolation prize.

It's so funny to think how we both have the incredible specific scenario of 'my sole survivor was stuck somewhere while serving in the military and had to eat his fellow soldiers and now he's a Cannibal'. Its like that Doofinshmirtz meme. Its weird that this happened twice. Here I was thinking I had galaxy brained when I did this a month ago and bam!! You did it too!!
8 END is both a blessing and in the right wrong circumstances, a curse
#i write my characters around the perk chart jahajshslhshsls#so gus has always been perceptive and durable and agile (all special stats relating to sniping w/ vats hits and vats accuracy and AP usage)#so those perks informed his character#he sometimes goes behind backs. he has a quick eye and picks up on things easily#he has a chem tolerance. he has an iron stomach#and he is a survivalist even if that means he has to eat people sometimes#and Isadora is a builder. So her stats are STR and INT. she uses power armor and heavy weapons.#she does the literal and metaphorical heavy lifting being a combat engineer. she needs to be able to carry the heavy parts and tools#and she needs the brains to do anything with them#so like...shes both brains and brawn but Gus is the heart and people person#and hes the one with the personal reason to be bothering#like Isadora just wants to shoot the guy that shot her (kellogg) but Gus had his whole ass baby stolen#so its like. Isadora is very competent and qualified to do the plot but she doesnt have the reason. Gus does.#and the /need/ to do this. because hes so guilt ridden over everything in his life he feels like this is his final chance to redeem himself#so he throws himself into the Minutemen and Brotherhood trying to fix the world bit by bit#and he does! but it takes so long that when he finds Shaun finally#Shaun has only a week or so to live#so he redeemed himself but at the cost of finding his son#he spent so much time making a better world for the baby he was looking for and instead all he got was a child's bedroom never to be used#meanwhile Isadora is watching the legacy of the old world terrorize this new one#The Institute was founded by rich white men who thought they knew what was best for the world#the same thing with America. and look how that ended#so shes seeing this continued cycle and shes furious that even after all this time. these fucking people are still oppressing Massachusetts#when Shaun dies Gus gives up and relapses and throws himself in a ditch somewhere to die#and Isadora has to find him and be like *i know this sucks but we are not done. we are not leaving it like this.*#*Shaun was okay. he wasnt in danger. your son was okay. you know who does need you? the Commonwealth.*#*they need you because you are the only person who can look at this wasteland and see something good. we're all here to help you.*#WOW LOOK AT ALL THOSE TAGS. What did Rocky think of the cornflakes?
It's not a Kellogg reference - not directly anyway. Kellogg is remembered because it was one of the few lasting things that emerged from an otherwise sprawling wellness fad. There were mineral spring, hot spring, and medicinal spring resorts, spas, retreats, and hotels all over the US in the late 19th and early 20th century. Some were small and are all but forgotten to time. Some ended up with whole towns built up around them. Ultimately, the trend dried up as trends do, making way for the next thing. Its end may have been hastened somewhat by the government cracking down more forcefully on snake oil medicine starting in the 1900s, though. No doubt some people gained some easily explained benefit from vacationing away from city air thick with coal dust to relax in a naturally occurring pool, but some facilities were also doing things like bottling and selling such waters without proper sanitization, and claiming it had vague yet miraculous curative properties. Here are the ruins at Welch Spring - one such example in the Ozarks. It's an off-the-beaten-path place I went to check out while the pandemic was at its peak.

There is a secret war happening in the heart of our world, friends. Combatants strive for absolute supremacy, a way to force their onerous new rules on regular human beings just like you and me. You only need to go to the cereal aisle at your local grocery store to see it for yourself.
When I was a kid, there were thousands of breakfast cereals. It was big business: fill kids with sugar laced corn byproducts. Quick breakfast, get them out the door. That was before the Carb Panic, which is not related in any way to carburetors, which remain a perfectly valid form of fuel metering and injection. Suddenly, breakfast cereal wasn't "cool" anymore. Sales dropped. MBAs freaked out. And a huge portion of our shared cultural history evaporated, just like that.
Even now, people of a certain age still have these brands woven into their sense of identity. You will lumber through the rest of your life, sleeper-like, until abruptly activated by a series of names that industrialists tattooed onto your prefrontal cortex. Post Oat Flakes, your brain will screech, we remember the titan it once was. A gentle frisson of nostalgia, followed by a haunting void and an awareness of the irreversible march of time.
Reduced competition means an easier time making money, right? Not so: as our civilization slowly looks down, Wile E. Coyote-like, and realizes that we actually stopped doing anything at all a couple decades ago in favour of moving some numbers around in Excel, people are cutting out things like Fruit Loops in favour of "eating actual food" and "paying my rent." This time, though, the cereal pushers learned their lesson. If the grocery stores don't want to stock their cereal because of low demand, they can simply hike the prices so that everyone gets their respective beaks wet. Seven bucks a box! Sir Grapefellow would have been ashamed.
Don't worry, though. I've got a plan. You see, the Canadian government stocked a bunch of anti-nuke bunkers with food and water and other supplies way back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. In the 80s, they had kind of gotten used to the whole idea of being obliterated in a millisecond and largely stopped caring as much. All that cereal is still perfectly good. If you bring your dad's old bolt cutters, we can probably sneak out a couple boxes before the Mounties figure out we're there. Might be a little stale, but that's better than living under the whip hand of Bob Kellogg's. I swear to whatever deity is listening that I will once again sup of Count Chocula.

Let's talk about Toys in Cereal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a part of several posts of mine that have gotten big, but I figure it's best to address the phenomenon itself in a new post.
If you want to just browse a ton of cool old cereal toys once we're done, go to: www.cratercritters.com. It's a neat site.
Cereal toys are a long-standing American tradition. Some tag-questions asked if they went away because of greed or because of regulations, and that's complicated.
There are food regulations that complicate things. You may have heard that Kinder Eggs are not legal in the US.
Tumblr media
This is usually framed as a "fear the stupid American Kids will eat the toy" kind of thing. This is not the case.
The actual regulation that blocks the Kinder Egg is about food safety from bacterial and undisclosed allergen contamination. Inserting a baggie with a toy into that exposes everything in the cereal bag to the outside of the toy package, and that's a no-no in the US market. The rare thing we're more strict about than the EU.
But that doesn't affect cereal toys, because they can get around it by having it in a separate package outside the food bag, between the inner back and the cardboard box. Much easier on the parents to find when you open the box, too.
Kinder has, themselves, addressed the US Kinder Egg problem the same way, with the Kinder Joy.
Tumblr media
Splitting the package. into two sections that are individually sealed.
But a big blow to the practice was the end of the Australian R&L Toy Company.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
R&L made tons of simple pack-in Premium toys from the 60s through the 80s. They were the primary supplier to Kelloggs, and made everything from simple one-piece figurines to little build-yourself-action-toys.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For instance, these "Wacky Walkers" worked by tying a string to the figure and the weight, then dropping the weight off a table. The figures would hobble forward on their feet, pulled by the weight. Neat-o!
Tumblr media
Then there's stuff like these Toolybirds. I'd sell any one of you to the goblin king for a set of these, because I sure can't afford them at $25 apiece or more. I'll probably just make some dinosaur-knockoff version or somesuch to 3d print, eventually.
R&L went out of business in the 80s and its molds were sold to a toy manufacturing company in Mexico that produced their stuff as bag toys for awhile, before everything just faded away.
Meanwhile, the cereal market was forced to contract elsewhere without a devoted company doing essentially just that.
Tumblr media
Liscenses came to the rescue. Fun fact, if you wanted toys from most of the Disney Afternoon, your only hope was Kellogg's.
As time went on, you started even getting software in cereal.
Tumblr media
Chex gave out a free, PG-version of DOOM for free. Not a couple of demo levels, a whole game, run on the doom engine, with aliens you zap with a spoon.
But as time went on, companies got less and less into the idea of enticing with freebies, and parents started objecting to the marketing of sugar cereals with toy surprises, because given the opportunity, most parents will blame the company for making something the kid wants for their unwillingness to say "No."
The eternal conflict:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cool thing the kid would enjoy that you might have to put your foot down over because enforcing moderation is a parent's job, verses unobjectionable conformist mush designed to increase your kids' "goodness levels."
I think the banning of cartoon mascots for snacks in certain countries is also ridiculous.
Thing is, any company could bring them back at any time.
Tumblr media
The Monster cereals did figurines of their mascots in cosplay in 2021. Of course, they did it as a limited edition bullshit thing where the actual monster cereal mascots were chase figures, but they made them, they could do them at any time if they wanted to.
They could bring the magic back. Nothing is stopping them.
Tumblr media
'cept there's no room for joy on the spreadsheet.
Gotta hit you with a little ennui. It's that ambergris stink that makes the perfume truly sweet.

Since today is percy's birthday, can you write something for Xavier's birthday?
This is a bit late considering Percy's birthday was in...October, but since it's Xavier's birthday it doesn't really matter
my taglists are here + you can send requests here at any time
Tumblr media
‘’Was the blindfold really necessary?’’ Xavier asked, his voice tinged with curiosity as he let you lead him through the dimly lit corridors of the academy.
‘’Yes.’’
The second you tied the blindfold, the birthday boy knew you had planned a surprise and lied about it. He wasn’t mad though. Your surprises were always…surprising.
‘’If I didn’t know you well enough, I would think you’re going to murder me,’’ he said with a soft chuckle, the sound echoing through the empty corridor.
‘’If I were to murder you, I would not be holding your hand. Only a fool would leave fingerprints on their victim’s body.’’
Guiding him forward, you soon came to a halt as you reached a staircase.
‘’Careful, there’s stairs. Thirty-five of them, to be precise,’’ you cautioned.
‘’Stairs?’’ Xavier repeated, his eyes widening behind the black blindfold. ‘’Now I’m having doubts on the whole murder thing…’’
You raised your hands to your lips and kissed the back of his gently. ‘’Hush hush, you know I would never harm you on purpose.’’
Once the death trap was over, you pushed a heavy door and a gust of wind hit you straight in the face, making you shiver. You forgot how cold November nights were in Vermont.
‘’Last I remember, students are not allowed on the rooftop,’’ Xavier pointed out as you removed his blindfold, revealing the view of the forest from above.
You pulled out a hair pin and Xavier shook his head with a smile, once again impressed.
‘’Of course you know how to pick a lock…’’
‘’Tonight is a full moon,’’ you stated.
Xavier cocked an eyebrow. ‘’Ohh, is it?’’ He lifted his eyes at the sky, seeing the bright moon. ‘’That’s pretty.’’
Simple things are often better than grandiose gestures. Which was why you decided to go for something small and intimate — sharing a cupcake on the rooftop under a full moon — instead of a surprise party. You were together and nothing else mattered.
Xavier dipped his finger in the frosting and, while your attention was on the sky, he smeared it on your cheek.
‘’Xavier!’’ you gasped, turning your attention to him.
He was smiling like a mischievous child, not even bothering to deny that he did it. Keeping the childish game going, you wiped some frosting from your cheek and smeared it on his nose, which made the both of you laugh as you tried to dodge his frosting coated finger again.

i cannot believe ive never posted this. probably because it looks like shit. anyways heres my pepe silva ass scrawlings about what i think this guy's mods are for.
translation of the nigh unreadable text under the cut
REAL AND CANON DIMA LORE PART ONE: What The Hell Are All Those Doo Dads
(i'll start from the head and go down)
HEAD
functionally blind. constant exposure to moisture from the fog pretty much turned a lot of him into mush and short circuits, including whatever optic nerves he had going on in there. so he mainly relies on sound and memory to get around. some of the shit sticking out of his head actually works like echolocation devices. pickinh up the sound around him and translating it into something that lets him know "oh, theres a fuckin table there. it does not always work. (fun fact: thats the reason why his memory game is based on abstractions and sound. while exploring nick/kellogg's brain we got visual input. dima doesnt have that)
all of the other tubes are basically just typical vacuum tubes. used to reroute voltage to make sure he doesnt overload himself with all the extra mods. make sure you dont stand too close to him during a thunderstorm
TORSO
basically an external disk drive. his main way of utilizing holotapes and shit. i like to draw a lil heart on it
looks like guts. gross. i cant figure out what this would do (i now believe its a liquid cooling system)
LEGS
so it turns out sitting in a damp ass cave on your ass in the dirt for 365 days doesnt do wonders for the skin. especially when that skin is just shitty rubber. basically his fuckin leg parts rotted away and just his metal skeleton remained, which is wrapped in his weird duct tape yoga pants. the metal frames are for extra support. because of this as well as his age he cant really stand for long periods of time (ignore the part where he stands in acadia forever after you get deeper into his questline) and when he INSISTS ON DOING SO he requires some form of mobility aid. usually in the form of faraday or chase walking alongside him
typical synth skeletal feet, but augmented to actually flex/extend like talons. he is weirdly skilled at picking things up with his feet.
BACK
basically his whole back is just Gone, minus the structures needed to hold up those ports because dima is very prone to overheating. was easier to just get rid of anything blocking the flow of air than to install a bunch of heat sinks. faraday's smart but hes on a budget.
these are the cerebral (spinal?) connections he uses to be plugged into his chair (not dissimilar to the placements of the connections in the institute mind wiping chair ☹️)

things i think the teenagers have in their backpacks/how they’re organized
TAYLOR
-he shoves that shit in there. no regard for anything. homework? SHOVED. important papers? SHOVED.
-however, he does take time every weekend to neaten it up. because he wants to be all organized
-pastel highlighters, expensive lineart pens, crayola colored pencils, blending tools, graphite pencils
-a singular mechanical pencil he found on the ground a year ago and still has. the led has never ran out. how.
-snack bag, mainly japanese snacks
LINC
-papers are neatly tucked in, but not organized whatsoever. he spends 15 minutes finding a specific paper. everyone is PISSED.
-2 folders that hold almost nothing. one is marked ‘SCIENCE’ and the other has a drawing of hatsune miku, courtesy of Taylor
-2 sharpened #2 pencils, 1 mechanical pencil that has soccer decals.
-erasers because everyone steals his
-notes that were passed around by the teens. they always end at linc and he just tucks them into the hatsune miku folder
-a packet of crackers at the very bottom of his backpack. theyre crushed to the point of it just being crumbs
NORMAL
-he has a very specific organization system. binders, folders, etc. everything has a place, a name, and a reason. if something gets messed up, he knows it in his gut
-like, 3 notebooks. everyone asks him for paper and he very freely gives it.
-huuuge bag of pencils. all pre sharpened or full of lead. everyone always steals them. theyre really generic and he gets a whole package for 1 dollar because he wants people to like him
-small individually wrapped snacks— to hand out to the teens. (scary is lactose intolerant- he accommodates :3)
-sticky notes. so many sticky notes.
-literally everything thats on a ‘what you need for school’ list. and its still there. nothings disappeared. everything is very well kept.
-phone chargers for every type of phone. adaptors. extra earbuds.
SCARY
-yea her backpack is a fucking mess
-“scary, can you give me a piece of paper?” “ugh, fine.” (6 minutes of scary pulling various bizzare things out of her backpack) “i don’t have paper.”
-fountain pen cuz she thinks its sick as hell. she used to do her homework with it but the ink spilled all over her science homework and she cried
-safety pins, sewing supplies, etc. her clothes are super ratty so they always fall apart.
-makeup bag— it says ‘NORMAL PEOPLE SCARE ME’ but with the people scratched out and an S added, so it reals ‘NORMAL SCARES ME’ courtesy of the boys
-black tape because some teachers make her cover up the swear words on her shirt
-snacks that have various ages. some are from the beginning of the year
-hair supplies— even dye. she dyed a streak of norm’s hair in the D.A.D.D.I.E.S. bathroom HQ thing.
-Kellogg’s knife. wrapped in cloth. theres a small slip of paper that says ‘JERKS AGAINST JERKING OFF’ in a sort of.. logo style. taylor drew it and scary thinks its fucking hilarious
HERMIE
-hes queer and a theater kid he has a totebag that says ‘SORRY I CANT COME I HAVE REHEARSAL’ but the ‘ome’ in come is covered, replaced with ‘UM’.
-chapstick. so much chapstick. and lipgloss. and just a rlly small tube of mascara that hes had for 7 years
-everything is in a single folder that has the joker on the front
-keychains attached to the handles. its the joker, teeny the teen (after ep. 31 it turns to the chaparral high mascot.), and a cat. specifically a custom keychain of his own cat
-some sort of balm. he literally got burned in cheese . that stuff hurts sometimes and hes got some weird aloe vera shit going on
-jewelry. he likes being able to switch jewelry on the fly
-costume changes
-at least 1 leotard
-2 pairs of tights, womens character shoes, ballet shoes, tapshoes, jazz shoes.

Hiie!
I can't find any posts about this yet. What are your pros/cons on bioactive enclosures? I've seen alot of opinions online but like, professionally what's the move? I'm a naturalist at a state park and we are getting new terrariums and I want to go bio to display native plants alongside the animals! Can live plants and reptiles do well without the "cleanup crew"?
Also, if moving in the bioactive direction, do you recommend buying an active soil like biodude? I've seen people online using soil, moss, plants, isopods, worms from outside in their tanks. How do you sanitize/quarantine? Are parasites an issue?
Askinf for corn snake, king snake, box turtles, if that makes a difference. I already sent our vet these same questions, I'm casting a wide net for all the info I can get :) Thank youuuu I love this blog sm 💗
Hello hello, very good questions!! I don't keep any of my personal snakes in bioactive enclosures (I don't enjoy trying to keep plants alive and I'm not the biggest fan of insects), but at my wildlife center we've been moving to keeping several of our display snakes in bioactive enclosures for the past few years and they're really nice in educational settings!
Like I said, I don't like bioactive enclosures for my own pets - aside from the additional hassle of bugs and plants, I keep a lot of snakes with special needs and more sterile enclosures make things easier on me. I wouldn't recommend bioactive enclosures for special-needs animals because they make it harder to spot problems like abnormal waste.
On the flip side, though, they're really great tools in educational settings because the naturalistic look sells the whole setup and (as you mention!) is perfect for highlighting native flora. They also never need deep-cleaned, which is a huge plus. They're time-consuming to set up but they can save you time in the long run.
If you're going bioactive, you really do need a cleanup crew. An ideal bioactive enclosure is a minature, self-sustaining ecosystem, and your cleanup crew is essential to getting the nitrogen cycle a-flowin'. Aside from doing the obvious and helping to clean up messes, insects also aerate the soil by burrowing through it, keeping everything healthier. You can totally try to set up plants without the clean up crew, but you might have a bit of a time with regular cleaning at maintenance without their help.
I asked our soil biology expert at my wildlife center, and she says that pre-packaged soils from the Biodude and the like can be super convenient and helpful, but there's also no harm in DIY-ing it if you'd like. You can buy the topsoil, moss, etc. you need at garden centers, and often much cheaper! She agrees with me that there is enough risk of parasites and other dangers such as fertilizers and pesticides with dirt/worms/etc. straight from outside that's it wise to buy it instead just to be safe. Be sure to look for organic topsoils without fertilizer or vermiculite - soils have ingredients written on the bags so be careful to look and make sure! Kellogg brand is my go-to soil for reptiles.
No matter where you get your soils, a good way to sterilize them is with heat. What we actually do at work is just pop it in the microwave! About five minutes per batch works well. This is really important because it kills any mold that may be sneaking in. You don't have to bother with this step if you buy a pre-made soil like the Biodude's, they come safe and ready to use.
Your cleanup crew (springtails and isopods are probably the easiest to work with, I prefer them to anything else honestly) shouldn't need quarantined, though. They should be good to go as soon as you bring them in.
Once you get everything set up, I recommend letting the enclosure cycle for at least a month. We learned from hard experience that your cleanup crew can easily be overwhelmed the presence of your reptile if they're not acclimated to their new home!
All the best!! If you all do decide to go bioactive, I'd love pictures - there are few things better than seeing happy snakes in beautiful enclosures!

Just thought about how funny it would've been if the whole thing with Kellogg being stuck in Nick Valentine's mind played out like how Johnny Silverhand got stuck in V's mind.

How would Nuka Leaders, Kent Connolly, and Kellogg react to John Wick as SS?
Tumblr media
Mags:
• As anyone would be, very impressed.
•Pretty vocal about her admiration for your skill, even more so if you use it to bring some serious caps flowing…which she has no doubt you can and will do.
•Might even develop a little thing for you honestly..
Nisha:
•on the contrary to a previous point..not so impressed. She won’t lie, your skills are satisfactory but the more methodical approach isn’t her thing.
•Honestly? It just isn’t easy to get her favor.
Mason:
•he’s a bit more intimidated than anything else…BUT he will not be admitting that. Very uncool of him.
•Might try to “showboat” his own prowess but it’s secretly to see if you’ll notice.
Kent:
• You. Are. A. Dream. Come. True.
•The whole idea of you being a hero is just perfect! You have the abilities of a comic character stepping right out of the page.
•He is starstruck.
Kellogg:
•”oh..fuck.”

Relating to the whole body-sharing thing, how do you feel about Nick x Kellogg's Ghost?
I have a billion plot threads about the two learning to share Nick’s skull, with the common factor being Kellogg Does Not want to take revenge, hurt Nick or Sole, or delete Nick / get a new body. He's in emtional Limbo as well as physical, not sure where he wants to go from here. The Lounger woke him up once, then Amari said he would fade away... And he just didn't.
Nick believes he means no harm because he was pretty unobtrusive and managed to hide in a shadowed corner of his mind for a couple months, just watching through Nick’s eyes and reflecting on his life. The only reason he would actually possess Nick and take him hostage was if someone tried to delete him before he's ready to face death again.
And from there they become friends and/or lovers while not telling anyone Kellogg’s still technically alive.
I feel like the Kellogg's Ghost thing is kind of a hot button issue in fandom where there's 2 camps. You either fall into "it was stupid and im glad they didnt do anything with it" or "they shouldn't have brought it up only to do nothing with it". I tend to fall more into the latter camp. I think it could have been a really fucking cool thing but. Alas!
I agree with you that I don't think Kellogg would necessarily want revenge. I feel he would be in a mindset of "well you beat me, fair and square." His surprise at not being dead effectively overrides any murderous impulse for a while. I think he would be more interested in hanging out undetected in Nick's head for a while, potentially trying to learn things about sole and their companions (there could have been some perception checks or something to see if your character notices anything off with Nick while Kellogg is piloting).
I think it would have been a lot of fun to occasionally get Kellogg's insights while traveling with Nick. Random voicelines while you're walking around, maybe some combat lines where Nick is effectively talking to himself ("You're welcome for the help" / "I didn't ask").
Given Nick's personal themes of autonomy and Who Am I, Really, I don't think he would want a passenger who occasionally takes the wheels. I think his priority would be to get Kellogg out of his head. There could have been some interesting resolutions to his quest, like either you kill Kellogg once and for all, kill Nick and have him take his place, or get Kellogg out into his own new synth body.
I think he could have had some particularly interesting insights if he's around during your final fight with the Institute, like providing an extra edge in the battle or accompanying you to help.

@alwayschasingrainbows hi hi thank you sm for all the questions <33 I appreciate u sm ik u accidentally asked on my main but I’m gonna answer them here :))) also thank you for sending ur own answers too I loved reading them and learning more about you and found them super interesting!!!!! <3
1. What is your favourite childhood movie and why?
Strangely I’d never been big on movies or tv as a kid or even now (I want to get more into it now but my adhd still says no) my mum even told me that when I was young she could sit my brothers in front of the tv to be entertained but not me, I’d lose interest hella quickly… probs the first time I got into anything tv related was when I was 10-12 and was invested in the drama of the tv series “dance academy” on abc3 Ive actually met the producer! other than that I didn’t mind a reality show as a kid but then most of that wore off after I studied media in school and we went as live audience to “reality” shows and I realised how set up everything was and couldn’t care less afterward -
If I had to pick any movie that I loved and that still strangely brings me some sort of comfort.. it would have to be the 2010 Jaden Smith Version of Karate Kid ahahaha idk why (well I kinda do there’s lots of reasons but then I’d go on another whole tangent so I won’t) I was like 11 when it came out so I think that can count :) I can weirdly watch it over and over whereas most other movies I watch once and never again.
2. Do you have a favourite book or book series and why?
I talked about this in some previous posts on here but my fav book of all time is “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman !!!!! I also am very passionate about “The uncaged sky: my 804 days in an Iranian Prison” by Kylie Moore-Gilbert (the audiobook version narrated by Kylie herself) and fav wholesome series has gotta be the Heartstopper graphic novels!!!! AHAHA again I could go on and on and on about why I love them all individually as they are all VERY DIFFERENT from each other, but I’ll literally be writing like 3 giant essays so I’ll stop myself now!! I will say, while it’s important we consume and love media that we don’t relate to to broaden our perspectives of life, it’s obviously easy to consume and love media that we see a small part of ourselves in and think this has a lot to do with why I love these so much!
3. The colour that makes you happy
Probably a dark green which reminds me of the rainforest:))))
4. Your favourite cereal?
I honestly don’t eat cereal and never really have :,) cereals were kinda demonised in my house as a child (almond mum tings?) but then eventually they weren’t anymore but I never rlly enjoyed their taste - this is such a sad answer but probably Kelloggs sultans bran LMAO. I haven’t had it for years but I rlly don’t mind it … I think it’s probably very different to American cereals cause it’s not sweet … one time I went to an American food store here in Aus and everything I tried taste like pure sugar and hurt my stomach so bad LOL never again I’m hoping and praying that Americans have other food options not featured in this store 😭 cos I understand some of it as a one off dessert but like everyday breakfast omg noooo I hope ur stomachs are ok
5. Your favourite gemstone?
I’m ngl I don’t have a super passionate answer about this one off the top of my head (sorry I’m such a boring person!!) I think they’re all so pretty!!! I gave them a google to try decide which I like most but it’s impossible .. I think I love any of the blue ones!! I’ll tell you one thing I rlly don’t love the yellow topaz cos I’m born in Nov and I see it on everything and I swear it’s the worst one imo like liteeally any other one I love! But I can still appreciate it ig :,)
6. Any activity you liked as a child and do you still like it now?
My biggest pain as a child was athletics!!!! I used to be competitive in 100m, 200m, long jump and triple jump :) sadly I no longer do athletics or compete but my passion for running/competitiveness lived on and by 15 I ran my first half marathon.. but from 17 onwards I got quite sick and was unable to run (minus a few little months of getting back into it over the yrs only to have to stop again) and now I’m 24 and finally getting back into it again.. kinda.. cos my health is still kinda shit but I’ll go for a lot shorter runs a couple times a week and hoping and praying my health gets better so I can proper get back into it.. not to compete anymore just for myself cos it’s one of the only things in this life that brings me joy :) I’ve also always loved taking photos although I’m not professional or anything it’s just been a fun little hobby I guess.. I have a few diff cameras but in currently trying (failing) to save for this new different one.. just waiting for my uni scholarship money this tri bc I’m too unwell to use it to go on a holiday atm I’m gonna use it to buy this camera I’ve been wanting oop :,) I’m a much bigger a fan of film photography over digital but the camera I’m planning on buying is kinda a combo of both eg. It produces images of a similar vibe to film photography but is actually digital so u don’t have to worry about wasting film :) it’s also a point and shoot, super small and can be taken anywhere which is much better than my current digital camera which is bulky and has a million settings idk how to use lol.
7. Have you ever read Lucy Maud Montgomery books?
I was about to say no I’ve never heard of her but then I googled it and saw Anne of Green Gables which I read when I was like literally 8… and as I’ve said in a previous post I never remember what I’ve read even if I read it two minutes ago bc adhd tings but I always remember how it made me feel - and I remember really enjoying it! Maybe I should give it a reread cause I barely remember what it was about :,) as for the rest of her books I don’t think I’ve read any! I love so much that you have a fandom page omgggg I wish I was that passionate about something !!!! PLS PLS give me recommendations if someone were only to read 1 of her books .. okay maybe 2 for now!!!!! I might actually give them a read :)))
Thank you thank you again for all ur kinds words I hope u have the most amazing day/night <33333 I appreciate u a lot!

Lynn Kellogg (Marcie, the can-can girl on "Charro!") about Elvis
Interview published on Tiger Beat magazine, July 1969 issue
ELVIS PRESLEY's Hippie Co-Star Thought He Was A Square by Ann Moses
The studio door flew open and out came tall and lovely Lynn Kellogg. Her beautiful golden blonde hair hung down on her shoulders which were covered by an Edwardian style leather coat. Wide wool trousers, a fugal change and huge round sunglasses completed the output.
She looked just as you would imagine the feminine lead in "Hair," the tribal love rock musical, but NOT as you picture the can-can girl and Elvis dramatic movie "Charro!" Just the same, Lynn chose to leave her role in "Hair" on Broadway to star with Elvis in his latest film "Charro!" To be sure, it wasn't Lynn's admiration for Elvis that made her take the part!
---
CHANGED HER MIND
"Not at all!" She will blatantly admit.
"I always felt Elvis was a good singer, but I hated his songs and that hairdo." I was working with Elvis for three weeks in Arizona and one week in Hollywood that changed her mind quick.
Although four weeks isn't much time to get to know someone very well, Lynn says Elvis is such an open and warm person that he's very easy to get to know. And like!
"Once I got to know him, I found he was a very nice gentleman; and a very good actor. I've heard many directors say they would like to use him in a movie as an actor instead of as Elvis Pressley. Working with him and watching him back, I can see what they mean."
---
A NEW ELVIS
In "Charro!" Lynn guarantees the audience will be seeing Elvis the Actor, and Elvis at his finest.
"I think Charro!" is a very good film. I don't like that type of film myself because it's violent and I like to see films that set a good example. For the type of movie it is, it's very good. My new saying is, "Forget about telling it like it is, tell it like it's supposed to be!"
Lynn observed that Elvis was happiest when he was working the hardest.
"He thrives on work. Between shots we fiddled around together and we got into all kinds of harmonizing. His guitarist, Charlie [Hodge], was with him and we all sat around and sang. It was a groove. We all went swimming once at the hotel and that was fun."
---
ELVIS THE MAN
During some of the breaks and filming on the set, Lynn had a chance to learn more about Elvis The Man.
"It may surprise some to know, but Elvis studies Yoga. And he knows all about astrology. I don't know how deeply he goes into it, but he sure knows enough to carry on a lively discussion about it. I think the most important thing about Elvis is not that he knows so much about astrology or whatever, the important thing is he knows where he's at!" "One day I had a short talk with Col. Parker. I said, 'Col. what's the secret to your success?' And he said, 'First, you've got to have a talent.'"
---
TOUR OF EL'S MANSION
When Lynn finished on the film and said goodbye to Elvis he invited her to visit his mansion in Memphis. She was working in Memphis last Christmas, so she dropped by to say hello.
She became excited just recalling the experience. “What was the place like?” I asked.
"Oh! Wow! It's fantastic! He used to show it off to people, really open the door and let them in, but he had to put in new carpets every month, so he quit." "When you first pull up to the gates, the gates had big musical notes on them. Even though it's out in the country, there's traffic going by all the time in a steady stream. The house looks like Tara from 'Gone with the Wind.' Because it was Christmas time, he had blue lights outlining the house and all the way along the driveway."
---
TROPHY ROOM
"When you first go in, off the entryway, there's this one whole entire huge room and the walls are filled with gold records and mementos. Then he has two long rows of drawers, like in a record store, and each one is filled with scrapbooks. Just thousands and thousands of things!"
"I was with some friends and we only stayed about an hour. His wife, Priscilla, was there and some of his friends. We went into the living room and there's a huge double piano--I don't mean two pianos--but two keyboards on one side and it's all in gold leaf!" "His bedroom is really something else! There's a huge bed and on the ceiling he has two television sets. Then there's a button that you push and armrests come down. There's also two radios in the control panel." "He said he wanted to show us his 'closet,' and he just laughed and laughed and he led us into this huge room. That was his 'closet'. It was so wonderful, because he was enjoying all this is much as we were!"
Lynn has kept very busy since filming "Charro!" She has just finished guesting on "The Jonathan Winters Show" and "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour."
