Writblr Intro
hello everyone! i've just recently started interacting with writblr and it's time for an intro :)
feel free to interact with me! tag me, send me asks, etc. i'm friendly! i'll follow back if your writing looks interesting or it seems like we have a lot in common ♥
Who the heck are you? My name is Skye and I use they/them! I'm in my 20s and I'm going back to school this semester for English. I've always wanted to write books and I'm finally starting to realize those goals!
What do you like? For writing, I love fantasy. I love wonder and magic and beauty, especially in nature. I want people engaging with my work to feel like they are small things in a big, mysterious, beautiful, dangerous, impossible world. I'm also an optimist, and I hope those things come through in my work. I tend to have a lot of younger protagonists in my long form work. A lot of it comes from looking back on my childhood and not wanting young people to feel powerless the way I did. However, I can't resist some gritty dark fantasy every once in a while >:) Some of my influences include Neil Gaiman, Studio Ghibli, His Dark Materials, Ursula K. Le Guin, Into the Spider-Verse, Toby Fox, and my lovely D&D buddies. I might expand on this as I think of more! Beyond writing, I also enjoy video games (lots of em), drawing (@astrophysician), D&D of course, and chess (mutuals are welcome to challenge me! i'm not high rated in any capacity but i'm learning!) i also make music sometimes
Show me the WIPs! I have two main projects right now: Mothwing and Story of Magus (working title). More info in my pinned. Tag lists will be recorded on their intro posts. Going forward I will also be tagging all my writing and poetry with #skyewriting Mothwing is a graphic novel. Upon fleeing her mother’s home, a girl has a brush with Death, who gifts her a cursed cloak made of moth wings. In order to break the curse, she must travel to the Land of the Fae to seek the mysterious Silver Door, which is fabled to heal any and all curses and wounds. | Short intro (have to write a real one) Story of Magus is a middle grade novel. When a clever magic student and a trespassing Witch uncover the greatest secret of the floating city of Valerius, they must rescue the student's sister from Valerius’ clutches without bringing the city to the ground. | WIP Intro
thanks for reading this far! ur a real one ;) i'm excited to meet more people!

"well, listeners, the riots have been forcefully calmed down by the sheriffs secret police, and the definitely-not-angels have put out their burning effigy of that round skeleton and ceased their chanting of 'SE-XY MAN. SE-XY MAN.'
"i am finally safe and alone in my office once more, and i - oh. oh god. oh dear god. listeners, i have just noticed what appears to be a dead body at my door, left there as if a gift from some well meaning but utterly clueless and unrelatable animal who does not know basic social etiquette - that, of course, corpses as gifts should be wrapped in silver paper with pages of that great american surrealist parody novel "Eat, Pray, Love" taped into a bow stuck on top.
"since khoshekh, my cat, floats four feet off the ground next to the sink in what was the mens restroom and is now a unisex restroom, this can only mean station management has left this corpse here.
"listeners, i find myself nervous, wondering if this is a warning to me from the edritch plural monstrosity that governs my work life and threatens me constantly - oh, but no, listeners, i am observing the dead body more carefully and am sensing the bitterness and fear that can only come from one who has lived a live spouting so much hate and pain. this corpse, whoever she may have been, lived a life of cruelty and deliberate harm, perhaps in the form of anti-transgender laws or severly antisemitic childrens books, though of course, listeners, i would have no way of knowing for sure. i can absolutely say i would not brave a library to find out.
"regardless, i think this must be a congratulatory gift from station management as to my new crowning of 'sexyman' status. my beloved carlos assures me i deserve it, though i admit i do not know, because of course i do not look in mirrors.
"well, listeners, if we have learned anything today, it is that the kindnesses and good intentions of our past, no matter how distant, will always remain in the hearts of the people around us, and may someday crown us - while our poison and hatred may end up with us brutally murdered by squamous beings and dropped at the doorsteps of unsuspecting radio hosts. good night, night vale. good night."
welcome to night vale is a production of commonplace books. it is written by joseph fink and jeffrey cranor, and produced by joseph fink. the voice of night vale is cecil baldwin. original music by disparition. all of it can be found at disparition dot info, or at disparition dot bandcamp dot com. this episode's weather was 'megalovania' by toby fox.

top 5 videogame osts?
Picking just 5 is impossible so I’m going to go off and list as many as I want
Under the cut for obvious long reasons
Chrono trigger (SNES) - listened to this obsessively when I had the DS port (which is still imo the definitive way to play, just ignore the repetitive bonus postgame quests), yasunori mitsuda is a legend (he’s also one of the composers for dungeon meshi!). I cut my teeth learning to read sheet music in bass clef once I switched to bass guitar playing the soundtrack, I have essentially the entire thing transcribed on my ultimate-guitar (username XxThreeCheersxX, keep forgetting to hype my account up here but I’m a top 100 ranked tabber 😅) personal faves are those without the will to live (beautiful tritone bass slide makes me moan), the trial, and frog’s theme.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (PS/XBOX) - I have never played but know it’s a mediocre multiplayer game, however the soundtrack is fantastic, great rock and metal remixes of some of the most iconic tunes throughout the franchise. The series over all has some killer songs and composers who love funny time signatures so this is easily a “best of.” Castlevania Judgment, arguably an even worse game, also has a good soundtrack.
Undertale/Deltarune (many) - required to be on this list. Toby fox is phenomenal, so many great and memorable tracks. There is a reason megalovania is everywhere. Not a single bad song to be found, but personally my faves are fight against a killer queen, waterfall, world revolving, and undertale. Undertale especially is so impactful because they use an actual guitar on it and it just hits and makes it much more poignant. Fox is maybe the king of leitmotifs.
Dead Cells (many) - after putting so many hours into the game I only appreciate the soundtrack more and more, plus the option to have 8-bit themes is a treat. I love love the Bank theme and Fractured Shrines especially. Very tense and epic sounding. But the Castlevania dlc is phenomenal in so many ways and the music is no exception, always blows me away they’re doing what Konami wishes they could do in every aspect.
Donkey Kong Country 1 + 2 (SNES) - don’t get me wrong Eveline Fischer’s DKC3 snes soundtrack is pretty damn good but imo it doesn’t hit the peaks of David Wise’s ost. It kills me that the silly monkey platformer has some of the most beautiful and atmospheric music of all time. I’ve watched so many music videos on how he made the music and why it sounds so good… from the ambient and emotional aquatic ambience and bramble blast, to the epic final boss themes, that dark reprise of dk island swing in minecart madness, the jittery and unnerving tree top town, the foreboding welcome to krokodile island, the sweet and dreamy dkc2 ice theme… it has it all. Okay what the hell, I’ll mention wise’s remix of water world/aquatic ambience/(a special surprise) in the gba port of dkc3 (he had to redo the soundtrack for that port from scratch). And yes I’ll even throw in fischer’s best songs from snes dkc3 - her version of treetop tumble is way better and more somber than wise’s, water world is like you’re actually at the bottom of a lake and very moody, and nuts and bolts is a dirty rock song with a groovy bass. Good stuff!!!!
Grant Kirkhope’s stuff (many) - another favorite composer of mine, most famous for doing many rare n64 games like banjo 1 + 2, dk64, goldeneye, plus Mario rabbids 1 + 2 on switch and indie game yooka laylee. I’ve also watched many videos and studied many of his songs, he loves to use tritones and out of place dissonant notes not to make something creepy (well, sometimes creepy) but to make things whimsical and man it really works. Dk64 is my personal fav and seeing him reprise some of the themes for Mario rabbids dk dlc was truly special. I really want to do a write-up about the dk64 soundtrack on my site one day! There’s a lot of Easter eggs I’ve spotted that I haven’t seen many people mention! Highlights are creepy castle (it has the dk arcade start motif hidden!), frantic factory, and gloomy galleon from dk64, and from banjo 1 and 2, I love jinjo village, gruntilda’s lair, and banjo’s house blues.
Final fantasy x - most final fantasy games have good to great soundtracks but x is special to me. It’s my favorite ff game and the music really makes it all the more poignant. Zanarkand’s opening note is enough to make me tear up. The battle theme never grows stale unlike some other ff battle themes, besaid is calming and has the perfect vibes, the trials theme should be repetitive but instead feels very disconcerting and even claustrophobic, and auron’s theme is cool as hell. X-2 also has a good soundtrack, but I don’t think it’s quite as good as here.
Celeste (many) - Lena Raine’s soundtrack is phenomenal and the use of motifs is impeccable. Not a bad song in the entire game. Resurrections is my favorite as it’s a long piece that goes a lot of places and makes you drift along for the ride. The way Madeline and badeline’s motifs diverge is brilliant, matching what’s happening onscreen. I love how hesitant the piano in awake sounds, it makes it so heartfelt. Anxiety is dense and lives up to the title, Little Goth is less hesitant but darker… she just writes such beautiful melodies.
Metroid Prime (gcn) - they originally wanted Autechre, an ambient electronic duo, to do the soundtrack but things fell through for whatever reason so Kenji Yamamoto (who did Super Metroid) stepped up to take his place and god what a good soundtrack. Metroid music is very cool and I’ve made posts about it before, like how Metroid II has one of the most experimental soundtracks and kind of challenges the limits of the system and what can be considered game music, super Metroid has some of the most alien sounding songs thanks to weird time signatures and instrumentation. But Prime is crazy because they had the tech now to deliver Yamamoto’s vision. Magmoor Caverns is everyone’s favorite, remixing norfair, those drums just make me go wild every time. All the area themes are great and alien sounding, it’s a very isolating soundtrack, plus the boss themes and the space pirates and chozo ghosts themes are kind of terrifying in a good way.
Sea of Stars/Messenger (many) - 2 of my fav indie games with some of the most addictive songs. Sea of stars is a prequel so seeing variants of the messenger’s tracks was a true delight. Yasunori mitsuda also assisted with the soundtrack making some unforgettable pieces. I want to learn the majority of it on bass by ear!
Hollow knight (many) - somber piano and grand orchestrated pieces make this game go hard. The mantis lord battle is probably my favorite, it’s so majestic and fearsome and makes them a scary boss. I also appreciate the more ambient tracks around greenpath and city of tears. But the boss themes turn things up when needed to and makes a world feel even more alive, which is impressive.
Silent hill 2 (ps2) - Akira Yamaoka has such a great style to create heavy, melancholic or terrifying songs for the franchise but this game stands out the most to me, Laura’s theme and promise always move me no matter how many times I listen to them, very hurting electric guitars. I need to watch more vids on the games ost.
Legend of Zelda (Nintendo) - for this last one I’m not picking a specific game and getting into details for them all would be hard I’m already losing steam fast. So I’ll list my favs across the franchise. Ocarina of Time’s Gerudo Valley, Hyrule Field, and Lost Woods; Majora’s Mask’s Termina Field, Clock Town, and Stone Tower Temple; link’s Awakening’s Face Shrine; wind Waker’s dragon roost island, outset island and Gohdan’s theme; and tears of the kingdom’s colgera’s theme.

My Dream Animal Crossing Game
An Ideal Proposal for an Ideal Sequel
Okay, now I know I love Animal Crossing (especially the New Horizons game) for its quirky charm, the cute cast of characters, and the sweet, peaceful life that our playable characters live (and we wish we lived). I am proud I raised my island good ol' Funklox to be a 5-star island! What's also cool is that I'm getting the knack of designing awesome homes for villagers (especially Katt, my favorite cat next to Kiki and Punchy)!
But I haven't probably told you I always wanted to be a game developer myself. Being indie, publishing my own works, making my own music and graphics...being almost the next Toby Fox or ZUN.
However, since I also wanted to express two of my sweet passions in this post, I decided, "Wouldn't it be cool to make another Animal Crossing?" Now that I'm writing my first ever large post on Tumblr, Uncle JJ will get to tell you my ideal sequel to New Horizons, hands down!
That's right! Welcome to Animal Crossing: Us-Topia! It's gonna have everything I (and probably you) have dreamed of! I'm gonna show you the features I most likely would to add to my dream Animal Crossing game!
1. Build a Village AND an Island
I'm sure you remember the forest village you first lived in (and/or becoming the mayor of your own town). I myself fondly remember first stepping foot on that deserted island, with my fine winged friends Jitters and Flo. I instantly realized I had the potential to build this paradise on that island, which I would name Funklox.
However, though I am happy with my cute, little island, I wonder what it would be like to run a village, too. I mean, don't get me wrong, but I still can't believe Animal Crossing: Population Growing is more expensive than it used to be! *Laughter reaction*
I mean, you just live in a village IN a forest, hence its birthname (which is Japanese for Animal Forest)! What's up with that, let alone how expensive retro games can be? At least my family has a GameCube in our house, though, so MAYBE we might play Animal Crossing on it as well someday!
All jokes aside, I propose living in a forest village as the main residence (like the games prior to New Leaf, then later on having Isabelle ask us about helping an overseas friend found a tropical island resort (which hopefully Kapp'n or Wilbur will take us to). That way, it'll be like Animal Island, except way cooler than before! Remember inviting islanders to your village with fruits they love? You probably may not, unlike the folks who would be greeted by their neighbors living in their memory card every time they started their day. But still! Running a village AND an island at once, though! That will be the main feature of Us-Topia!
Don't steal this idea from me, Nintendo.
2. Upping the Villagers' A-Game
Back when Tom Nook was living back in his hometown, villagers used to be crass to players! Or at least in the localized release. All rudeness aside, I think they softened up in later games.
Anyways, you may complain not about rude villagers as much as you used to, but how repetitive the dialogue can get. I understand that frustration, which is why I hope Us-Topia! will have expanded, extended, and exceeded dialogues. For example, imagine Audie talking about how she loves to lift weights! Imagine Flip the monkey explaining his hopes for being a pro golfer! Imagine Graham confessing his love for Franchine and Chrissy when you look at their photos! In his home!
Oh, and let's not forget how conservation would go between our villagers:
Punchy: So Al, I know this may sound funny, but would you like to have lunch with me, mrmpht?
Al: Sure thing, ayyyeee! Where you suppose we'll snack?
Punchy: I was thinking we could stop by the mall to have fish sandwiches! Ah huh huh huh.
Al: ...Fish sandwiches? Are you sure those kinds are healthy for some guy who wants to stay strong, Punchy?
Punchy: Oh. I...didn't notice you were trying to live a healthy lifestyle, Al.
Al: That’s okay. But I wouldn't mind having a pretzel to eat! Ah huh huh huh!
That was just an example for reference. And aside from dialogue, I thought I'd present another gender of villagers. Yes, I want Us-Topia! to introduce non-binary villagers! That way, it would help support LGBTQIA+ and they/them pronouns even better! But if we want another gender in Animal Crossing, we'll need 4 more personalities!
Lucky Villagers - Derived from the mummy dog's name, lucky villagers would be a great counterpart to the male jocks and the female peppies! Luckies are energetic, willing and friendly, and not afraid to take dares! They would along with smugs, snooties, normals, crankies and (yes) jocks and peppies. One of the only villagers they wouldn't get along with is the big sister, due to her snarky demeanor. Crankies and lazies would sometimes be confused by the lucky's lifestyle, concerning them.
Simple Villagers - While easygoing and carefree, simple villagers are a proposed counterpart to lazies and normals. Despite this, the simple has a big imagination, and will do anything for their friends! They will get along with luckies, lazies, normals, peppies (due to shared imagination), big sisters, jocks, crankies, but not smugs.
Defiant Villagers - These counterparts to smugs and big sisters are confident, loyal, and hopeful they'll take on the world someday. Despite not having a big ego like their smug man, the defiant villager has an equally shared amount of ambition. Often they'll act like a sidekick to the player, too! Despite getting along with smugs, big sisters, peppies, jocks, crankies, and lazies, they don't hang out with luckies, simples, or normals, due to the defiant's self-centeredness.
Awkward Villagers - This angsty fellow should be compared to their snooty girlfriends and cranky folks. They may appear rude to the player like their counterparts, let alone pessimistic, but all and all, they do provide good philosophies, almost as good as Pascal's. They're likely to get along with smugs and big sisters (because they're all like teens), lazies, normals, and simples (because of their caring attitudes), luckies, and (you guessed it) snooties. They wouldn't even touch a jock, a peppy, or a defiant with a 39½ ft. pole. "Like, dude. That sucks." Crankies wouldn't make them feel better either.
That's my proposed personalities for non-binary villagers. Here's to a grand hoping Nintendo will realize the gender spectrum and implement it even further to a sequel to New Horizons.
"But Uncle JJ," you may ask. "Are you sure that would make villagers better in an Animal Crossing game?" Well, my fellow crosser, this is just a proposal. I would care more about anything else than if it gets rejected. I was just expressing my thoughts and feelings.
And speaking of better villagers, wouldn't it be cool to have variants of already-has-been villagers, along with more special villagers exclusive to Amiibo cards? Think about it! Maybe there could be an Alien!Ankha! Maybe there could be a Swap!Francine and Chrissy! Maybe you could get Raymond dressed as Rayman, or a 1930's!Doc, or even a Nyan Katt!
And please, Animal Crossing gods...please give us more info on our villagers in the game. Please. I just want to get to know Francine better. Even have Pocket Camp's villager thoughts, too. That is what else I want done.
3. More Food to Harvest
Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O! And on his farm, he may have pumpkins, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, wheat, and sugarcane, but the poor farmer is still missing something.
I know! How about some more crops, such as zucchini, bell peppers, peanuts, and even radishes? Don't forget that MacDonald needs back his grapes, bananas, mangoes, and lemons! I wanna drink lemonade in Animal Crossing, but I sold my Mario and Luigi 3DS, so I can't be a mayor in New Leaf. Bummer.
Maybe I can catch up to that lost opportunity by putting those in Us-Topia! so that old MacDonald can love farming again! E-I-E-I-O!
4. Quality of Life (It's a Necessity)
I know Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 doesn't have all the quality of life features we wanted, but at least it has the quality of life features we didn't know we needed.
But I'll tell you what...perhaps I could implement those features, such as stacking ALL items in 99's, just like you wanted, bulk crafting, warning players when their tools run low, and even sort our pockets out, and making our backpacks have space for items, too! At least the backpack thing is what I want. Oh, and better online play.
And let's not forget about switching our players' voices to suit our personality, so that folks can recognize our dialogous voices when they dream of our village! Even yet, give us a guide to help us set our paths and/or dig where we wanted to! And calling folks over so they can remind us they're near! All that cool stuff Nick Ha talked about! That's the truest quality of life ever, baby.
5. Expanding Creativity
We all know Animal Crossing is about creativity, right? Interior/exterior design, fashion, customization, even the famous custom designs we love to share. But all that should change once I expand your canvas in Us-Topia!
With almost infinite custom design slots, and touch screen support, we could make better designs than we anticipated! We could get villagers to wear our handmade fashion again! Just imagine Mint in a Hatsune Miku coat! We could even have sharp notes and flat notes in our town tunes! Endless possibilities just got less limited!
In Conclusion
Those are my proposed ideas for when there should be another Animal Crossing in the future. Though we don't know how the future of Animal Crossing would work out, but I'm sure there's a chance it might happen to end up brighter than before someday!
As our friend Isabelle would say, "A good attitude will always take you further than a bad habit!" Thank you for listening.

welcome to my blog !
heya ! i am a bit new to tumblr, so i am not completely sure how this is supposed to work, but i think i will figure it out. on here, i will be posting some of my art (incomplete sketches mostly), how my day is going, how everything in general is going, and i will be talking about things i enjoy (maybe even some theories ;))  getting to know me: my actual name is lauren, but i do not mind going by elizabeth or lizzie (elizabeth is my middle name). my pronouns are she/her and i looooveeeeee pickles. i am a big fan of music, i listen to music 24/7 lol. my favorite musical artists/projects are jack stauber, tally hall, hobo johnson, miracle musical, matt maltese and c418. i also love video games, my favorites being minecraft, undertale, danganronpa, overwatch, sally face and fran bow.    i like to draw, paint, and just create artistic things. if i do go to college, i would love to be a video game designer, photographer or a poet, that is if i do go. college never really spoke out to me if i am being honest, i do want to try and be a youtuber, i just need some equipment and i am good to go !    i think some of my biggest inspirations are jack stauber, toby fox and... well i hate to admit it but joe hawley. jack stauber is probably the person i look up to the most, everything about his work i LOVE. how he conveys his creativity and emotions in his works, and his talent for drawing. its all so amazing. now joe hawley, i look up to him more for his work only. he is really not the best person from what i know, but his work is really amazing. i also thinks he sings BEAUTIFULLY and his lyrics are absolutely amazing, but sadly he isn’t the best person. i think we all know why toby fox is listed. he is.. TOBY FOX. duhhhhh.... ! one thing i want people to know is that you are never alone. you, reading this. even if no one reads this at all.. people are there for you. please never feel like you are a burden to anyone, you are not. you can change the world. there is a quote i always love to keep in mind, “never accept the world as it appears to be, dare to see it for what it could be. even if things are going poorly in your life, please, keep a bit of hope. things can change, and things WILL change. the world is cruel, I've had my fair few situations where that is present, but your perspective of the world can change. the world can get nicer in your view. people shape the world for you, do not let yourself get walked all over. you are worth so much more. even if no one else is there for you, i am. never hesitate to message me if you need anything. i may be some lowly loser on the internet, but this loser will always be here. thank you.

My MCU Phase 4 Wishlist
Tumblr media
So, over a decade and 23 fucking films later an era of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has finally concluded with “Spider-man: Far From Home” premiering last week.
It’s still staggering just how robust this franchise is considering in just eleven years’ time it already has amassed nearly as many films as the James Bond franchise and is arguably a more bankable series at this point than “Star Wars.” Though it’s not a perfect series by any stretch its success is nonetheless tied to its consistent, often magnetic charm and grand action set pieces and Phase 3 showed that it was even capable of some complex and nuanced growth. The third phase tackled deeper more emotional issues for our favorite super heroes while also giving many of its directors more free reign to do as they please with their scripts. Not always perfectly but it was more often than not hugely successful at reaching audiences on a personal level.
Tumblr media
(Sometimes with mixed results...)
But as much as “Endgame” was a near perfect sendoff for this franchise, The Mouse isn’t done by any stretch with churning these films out seemingly until the end of time, so with that mind where should Disney go from here since it looks like the franchise will continue on indefinitely?
There’s a lot of ways to envision success for the MCU, and some wheels are already in motion between next year’s “Eternals” and Disney+’s streaming MCU shows but what would it really take for this series to get to the next level? Well this writer has some ideas and is more than happy to share a few of them.
Make the Villains More Prominent (and stop killing them off!)
Less so in Phase 3 but consistently throughout most of the series has been a total lack in quality villain performances and story-telling. Whether they are generic mustache-twirlers, essentially dark mirrors of the hero or just plain half-baked characters, the MCU has really done a disservice to its robust catalogue of rogues by often wasting the talents of great actors and actresses all to just check a box in a super hero script.
And on top of that they are consistently dead by the end of each film giving them no chance for growth in a sequel. I mean it’s not like we haven’t seen that work before right?
Tumblr media
(Case in point)
For phase 4, especially in the wake of two thirds of the Marvel’s Holy Trinity out of the picture, villains should take center stage now more than ever. The heroes of this newer, younger and developing Avengers are probably not ready for the responsibility of protecting the world and the universe as evidenced by the near catastrophic mess Spider-man commits in “Far From Home” and to have the villains of this next phase take advantage of that would be a smart move.
These villains need to be prominent, larger than life and command a nuance to them that much of the older films did not have. A character like Norman Osborn for instance could step in to fill the power vacuum left behind by Stark’s shadow as the new tech futurist of Earth but of course without the responsibility and good intentions of Iron Man. Doctor Doom could be a counter to Black Panther’s Wakanda as a polar opposite of nations in Latveria. And bringing on a character like Mephisto could further expand the mystical side of the MCU that started to be explored in “Dr. Strange.”
Tumblr media
(But seriously, Marvel Studios, if I don’t get Toby Stephens as Norman Osborn I will riot...)
Either way, these villains need to carry on for more than one film for a change. Only Thanos, Vulture and Loki have managed to get past their first movies but if Phase 4 is going to be more distinctive it needs to have these villains come together in some way, perhaps even a *gasp* team-up! Having the villains form a super team to fight a younger more inexperienced Avengers could provide for some great drama and welcome change to the usual “fight an army of nameless goons, aliens and/or robots” of the previous era.
In any case, Kevin Feige and The Mouse need to have their sights set on truly developing these villains beyond just simple one-offs and into fully fleshed out characters that can continue to be trouble for our heroes across the series.
Expand the Cosmic Spectrum of the MCU
The MCU is a science fiction series, if that didn’t already occur to you before, what with it’s iron-suited heroes, super soldiers and in these last two phases space aliens. With the latter the next phase really needs to lean into this and all its possibilities.
There’s a wealth of characters and worlds to explore on the cosmic level of Marvel Comics that not just the Guardians of the Galaxy can be a part of and Disney would be smart to bring even more properties into this real estate of the MCU.
It should namely start with Adam Warlock who was teased in the mid-credits scene of “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.” Warlock has long been a favorite character of mind, dating back to reading my dad’s old copies of the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Watch. He’s a charismatic character who effectively blends both the cosmic and mystical side of the Marvel Universe together that can lead to a wealth of possibilities across the new MCU. Who should play him is purely subjective at this point but I can tell you right now Zach Efron isn’t even my fourth choice on that particular ladder.
Tumblr media
(Maaaaaybe?)
With the Fox deal, Disney also has the option to bring Silver Surfer and Galactus into the mix which they absolutely should at some point. Beta Ray Bill is also said to be making his debut in “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3” who can take over for Thor as Chris Hemsworth will eventually move on from the franchise at some point. Guardians will eventually need to retire too of course which opens up the possibility for the Infinity Watch with characters like Moon Dragon, Maxam and Pip the Troll and don’t tell me any of them wouldn’t work on the big screen. If Rocket Racoon can be a fan favorite Moon Dragon, Pip and Maxam can definitely make it too.
Either way the Marvel Universe is big fucking place and Disney would be dumb to not explore more of it for future franchises.
 Make better Original Scores
Johan Goransson’s Oscar win for Best Original Score for his work on “Black Panther” was a watershed moment for this franchise because it showed how super hero music can still be relevant. Imagine Christopher Reeve’s “Superman” without John Williams theme music or Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” without Hans Zimmer’s prominent percussion echoing the legend of Batman. Its not nearly as memorable and I feel the MCU has largely short-changed itself by not putting a higher emphasis on original scores during its decade-long run.
Tumblr media
(*Bwaaaaaam BWAAAAAAAAAMMMM* I can hear this gif)
Phase 3 has definitely done a better job with this of course, Michael Giacchino’s work on Spider-man is solid, Alan Silvestri’s return to Avengers especially the “Portals” scene is epic as hell and again Goransson’s score is part of the reason we knew exactly what was coming next when Cap said “I know somewhere” before we even saw an image of Wakanda. But Phase 4, in my opinion, needs to make this more important as we introduce new characters.
Music has a way of echoing memories and ideas that we’ll immediately associate with an event or in this case a character and with the MCU heading into uncharted territory with what’s looks like even more unique characters, adding memorable music will help audiences identify with them. A catchy tune can go a long way to making a good scene greater just ask the binary sunset in “A New Hope” and it can make a character truly standout.
Imagine the next Avenger’s films if you will as all these new heroes come together on screen all their theme music coming together to culminate in one epic version of the Avengers suite. It will be glorious if done right and the MCU needs to make this happen with inventive composers and film scores in Phase 4.
Save the X-Men for Phase 5
I know with the Fox deal and the whimpering flameout of “Dark Phoenix” fans are clamoring to see what Disney and Marvel Studios can do to bring in everyone’s favorite team of mutants but I say “hold up.”
As much as I would love to see a (hopefully) more faithful rendition of the X-Men I think we need a breather from Professor X, Cyclops, Beast and especially Wolverine. The X-Men franchise has been going on for over two decades and as much as we would all like to see these mutants get some much needed redemption after “Apocalypse” and “Dark Phoenix” I think general audiences need a breather. Yes, The MCU brought in Spider-man barely two years after the “Amazing” franchise which flamed out badly as well but Spider-man, even by its franchise standards, had a considerably smaller catalogue left behind when he made his debut in “Civil War.”
I think teasing the reappearance of the X-Men in Phase 4 is probably fine. Maybe dropping clues on the existence of mutants, maybe mentioning an alternate universe they come from because chances are their backstory will be retconned but either way the X-Men should be left on the backburner for Phase 4.
Tumblr media
(Deadpool though? Keep’em coming.)
Make Phase 5 all about the emergence of mutants, build them up as a great new team for the MCU and perhaps even pit them against the Avengers down the road. Either way, let the X-Men have a break for now. They need it after what Fox did to them.
 Bring in Diverse New Heroes
Oh, here comes that dreaded word that makes the slimiest denizens of the internet overreact and proclaim they’re not the “oversensitive” ones (in all CAPs of course).
The MCU had its fun with its main cast of primarily white Marvel staples over the past decade and if they’re going to show that they have new ideas and new stories to tell it should begin by bringing in browner heroes.
“Black Panther” was largely a breath of fresh air for the franchise because it told a very personal and relatable story to the society we live, primarily on the struggles of being a minority. The story wasn’t a simple good vs evil tale or nonspecific theme about family and love but of something deeply wrong in the world and it’s the reason it resonated as much it did.
The MCU is already making way for its first Asian American hero in Shang Chi, which is a good start but it shouldn’t end there either. Diverse heroes should be its next flagship for the new era of the MCU. Bring in Amadeus Cho, Ms. Marvel, and hell start teasing Miles Morales.
Tumblr media
(And don’t give me that bullshit that black Spider-man can’t appeal to mass audiences...)
I can already hear the idiots shouting at the screen right now about “white erasure” or some other bull shit about reverse racism and/or forced diversity. First of all, these people would bitch about diversity no matter what way it was brought in. If a hero is turned from white to brown it’s “Why can’t they bring in a new brown hero?” If they bring in a new brown hero it’s “Why are they bringing in a new brown hero? No one cares.” And if people do care it’s “Forced diversity.” All I have to say to you people is you keep shifting around the goal posts so much to the point that it makes me wonder what you are actually angry about?
Tumblr media
The MCU needs brand new blood and given that it again made a talking Raccoon a fan favorite there’s nothing that tells me this is a bad time to bring in more brown heroes from Marvel’s lesser known catalog. It isn’t that I or even other minority fans hate white heroes (I wrote an entire article on how much I love the MCU’s Captain America afterall) but for the sake of showing that these diverse heroes matter and giving them a chance to shine on the big screen this is needed. It wasn’t long ago that barely anybody knew who Black Panther was, now you have folks throwing up “Wakanda Forever” signs on their Instagram and social media and reading his graphic novels. So, open your mind up a bit and stop being a child about “forced diversity.” Thor was still epic as hell when he brought down Storm Breaker in “Infinity War,” Captain America still inspires patriotism in even the most cynical of souls and Iron Man saved the universe with a snap of his fingers. Your white heroes (and fragility) stories will survive a little spice in this franchise.
How the MCU truly proceeds from here will be interesting. There are already projects in motion of course and fans should probably be excited for it regardless of what I have written here but I do truly hope a lot of these happen in Phase 4. Marvel needs better more consistent villains going forward, the cosmic side of the comics deserves more exploration, better soundtracks will make these movies better, the X-Men need a break, and after 23 movies we could stand add a few more brown people to the mix.
Hopefully The Mouse is listening…

Laugh For Us, King Fluffybuns!!! (Chapter 7)
Hmm, with Toriel's tickle torture nearly at its end and after everything that happened up until that point, are Toriel and Chara going to spend the night at Asgore's? Or, are they going to back to Toriel's home where Frisk and Asriel currently are. ...Or, is one of them going to stay with Asgore while the other goes back to Toriel's home? ...Only one way to find out. ;) Undertale(c) Toby Fox.

LAUGH FOR US, KING FLUFFYBUNS!!!
Chapter 7: Another Sign of Good Things to Come
2 minutes later, Gaster stopped tickling Toriel’s feet, much to Toriel’s relief.
Toriel: Heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee!!! Oh, Gaster, I just knew you were going to tickle my feet too. Hee hee hee.
Gaster: Hehehehehe. Well, with big ticklish feet like yours, I simply couldn’t resist. Hehehehe.
Gaster could’ve used tickle beam blasters to tickle Toriel’s feet just like he did briefly last Saturday; but he chose not to because he wants to keep them a secret from Chara. For now, at least! ;)
Chara: Heeheeheeheehee! Amazing work, “Uncle” Gaster! You’ve still got it! And so do you, Mom and Dad! Thank you guys so much for such a fun afternoon and evening! *said Chara to Toriel, Asgore, and Gaster, hugging the three of them one by one lovingly and happily while tearing up just a small bit*
Toriel: Awwwwwww! You’re so welcome, my child. And remember, feel free to ask us for tickles anytime you’d like. *said Toriel with a heartwarming smile* They’re free. *she said in a singsongy voice while spidering her fingers up and down Chara’s sides briefly, eliciting precious giggles from the young red-eyed girl in response* Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee.
Chara: Heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee!!! Yes!!! Heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee!!! I will most certainly doohoohoohoohoohoo thahahahahahat!!! Heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee~!!!
Toriel: Hee hee hee. Good. *said Toriel right as she stopped tickling Chara* Glad to hear that, my child. Now how about we all sit down for a moment and have a nice little talk before Dr. Gaster leaves to watch Frisk and Asriel for me.
 Asgore: *gasp* You mean…
Toriel: Hee hee hee. Yes, I’m staying overnight, Asgore. *said Toriel right before touching Asgore’s left hand lovingly* And so is Chara. Right, Chara?
After witnessing her mother touch her father’s hand, Chara was left with a choice. She could either stay at Asgore’s house with both of her parents; or, she could go back to her mother’s house with Gaster and spend the rest of the night with her siblings and Gaster himself. Decisions, decisions; but for what it’s worth, Chara should probably leave with Gaster. It seems like right thing to do; because if Toriel and Asgore are all by themselves, then there’s a much larger chance of them becoming even closer with one another.
Chara: Um, actually, you guys; do… do you mind if I leave with Gaster? *Chara asked a bit hesitantly* Ehehehehe, I’ll be honest. After all that talk of those nightmares I’ve been having lately, I… I kinda want to snuggle with Asriel tonight; tell him how much I love him and how lucky I am to have him as a brother and all that; like I always do after thinking about that, that, that bad memory.
Toriel and Asgore: …Not at all, Chara. You go right ahead. *said Toriel and Asgore understandably, right before hugging Chara goodbye*
Asgore: How very considerate of you.
Toriel: Hee hee hee. Indeed, and I’m sure he’ll appreciate it very, very much; like he always does.
Chara: *sniffles* Thanks, you guys. You’re the best parents a demonic child like me could ever ask for.
Asgore and Toriel: (Demonic? Chara, you’re anything but demonic!)
After hugging Asgore and Toriel goodbye (and after sitting down and having one last conversation with both of them), Chara took some time to put her shoes and socks back on and grab her things. Then, once she was ready, she stood right next to Gaster.
Gaster: Hehehehehe. All set, little one?
Chara: Heeheeheehee! I sure am, “Uncle” Gaster.
Gaster: Hehehe, terrific. Toriel, Asgore, have a good night, you two. *said Gaster to Toriel and Asgore with a smile, right before teleporting both Chara and himself next to the car inside his garage, deliberately causing damage to his soul in the process so he can drive himself and Chara to Toriel’s house where Frisk and Asriel currently are; and then use that same car to take them, along with Chara, to school the following morning*
(Gaster needs to use his car because teleporting one or more person is hard on his soul; so hard that it causes his soul to crack! But the damage can be undone though. As long Gaster avoids teleporting one or more person for however long it takes him to walk from Point A to Point B at normal walking speed, his soul will return to its normal undamaged state.)
Toriel and Asgore: Heeheehee/Hohoho! Goodbye, Chara. Goodbye, Gaster.
 A few seconds later…
Asgore: *cough* So, uh, Tori, *coughs* Toriel, now that, now that we’re alone, *Toriel touches his hand, making him blush* and, and now that we’ve had our t-tickle f-fun with C-Chara, *Toriel looks at him while batting her eyes, making him blush even more* do, do, *coughs* do, do, do y-you w-w-want to g-g-go on a “d-d-d-d-date” w-w-w-w-with me? *smiles nervously*
Toriel: Hmmmm, I don’t know, Asgore. *replied Toriel cheekily* I just don’t know. …But, *puts her feet in Asgore’s lap, making Asgore blush even more* maybe; maybe there’s a way you can convince me to say yes. *hands the bag of tickling utensils to Asgore. Mmmmmmmmmm, heeheeheeheeheeheehee!! *she giggled, wiggling her toes incredibly teasingly in Asgore’s lap*
Asgore: *shocked gasp* OH, MY, GOODNESS, TORIEL!! You want, you want me to convince you to say yes by tickling your feet; your big, beautiful feet?!
Toriel: Hee hee hee. Yes, you big doof. *answered Toriel teasingly* But not just that though; I’d also like you to give them a BIG kiss! *she said very, very cheekily while moving her feet up close towards his face* Hee hee hee hee hee. *she giggled preciously while wiggling her toes very, very, very teasingly*
Toriel wants Asgore to kiss her feet?! Um, ok, sure, that’s cool! It’s not her face, but it’s something, at least. (Asgore, you lucky son of a gun! X3)
Asgore: Hohohohoho! Oh, you are so asking for it now, young lady! *teased Asgore, wrapping his right arm around both of Toriel’s ankles*
Toriel: Hee hee hee hee hee. Oh, am I? *Toriel asked cheekily while wiggling her toes very, very, very teasingly once again* Hee hee hee hee hee.
Asgore: Hohohohoho! Yes, yes, you are! Hohohohoho!
 Toriel: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!! HAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!!!!!!
At that moment, Asgore began tickling Toriel’s big insanely ticklish feet, the same way he used to when he dated her as a shy prince… and when he was married to her as a noble king. What followed was laughter that was music to his long fluffy ears. ;)
Toriel: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!! *Toriel laughed heartily the moment Asgore began tickling her big ticklish feet with his large left hand fingers* OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH GOHOHOHOHOHOHOD, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHA, OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH GOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOD; PLEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEASE DOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHON’T!!!!!! *she pleaded falsely through her laughter* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! HOHOHOHLY *SNORT* MOLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!! ASGOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHORE, STOHOHOHOHHOHOHOP!!!!!!!! *SNORT* *SNORT* HAHAAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, PLEEHEEHEEHEEHEHEEEASE STOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHOP, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA, I’M BEGGING YOU, HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA, STOHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHOP!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!! *SNORT* GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!!!!!!!!
Asgore: Stop? Hmm, ok, I’ll stop, but only if you agree to go on a “date” with me this Saturday. *teased Asgore in a singsongy voice as he began gliding the “Toriel feather” along both of Toriel’s large soles, as well as in between and underneath her six large toes* Hohohohoho!
Toriel: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! I WILL DO NOHOHOHHOHOHO SUHUHUHUHUHUCH THING!!!!!!!! *lied Toriel through her even more hysterical laughter* HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!!!!!!!!
Asgore: Hohoho! Oh, come on! You know you want to! *teased Asgore as he began brushing in between Toriel’s toes with a non-electric toothbrush* Hohohoho!
Toriel: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!! AHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHA!!!!!!!!! NOHOHHOHOHOHO, AHHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, NOHOHOOHHOOHOT, HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOT, HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, NOHOHHOOHOHOHOHOT IN BETWEEHEEHEEHEEHEEN MY TOHOHOHOOHOES!!!!!!!!! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!! *SNORT* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! *SNORT* *SNORT* BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!! GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAAHHAAHAHAHA~!!!!!!!!!
Asgore: Hohohoho! Ok, soles it is then! *teased Asgore as he began scrubbing both of Toriel’s soles with a hairbrush* Hohohohohoho!! Scrubba, scrubba, scrubba!! Scrubba, scrubba, scrubba!! Hohohohoho!!
Toriel: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! *SNORT* *SNORT* *SNORT* *SNORT* *SNORT* BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA HAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!!!!!!!!!! *Toriel laughed, squealed, shrieked, bleated, snorted, and everything in between incredibly hysterically and beautifully all the while Asgore scrubbed her soles with a hairbrush*
Asgore: Hohohohoho! I can do this all night, Toriel. I’ve got nowhere else to be I have nothing better to do! Hohohohohoho!
Toriel: HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA~!!!!!!!!!!
Asgore: Hohohohoho! And remember, this can all come to an end if you agree to “go out with me” this Saturday! Hohohohohoho!
 Toriel: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHA~!!!!!!!!!!
For the next while, Asgore continued tickling the bejesus out of Toriel’s big feet and Toriel herself continued laughing and laughing and laughing and laughing and laughing. Why, she laughed so hard that to the point she couldn’t help crying waterfalls of tears. Her feet are just so insanely ticklish and the tickle torture she was enduring with every passing second was seemingly unbearable! But this is what Toriel wants though. She wants Asgore to tickle her feet until she agrees to go on a “date” with him next Saturday. And Asgore’s patience rewarded him greatly; because after tickling her every inch of her feet with his fingers, feathers, paintbrushes, non-electric toothbrushes, electric toothbrushes, hairbrushes, combs, pipe cleaners, back scratchers, etc. for 30 whole minutes (and after giving her feet a BIG kiss X33), she said yes. :D :D :D :D :D :D
 .........
Later that night at Toriel’s house, while Chara, Asriel, and Frisk were getting ready for bed in Asriel’s bedroom…
Chara, Asriel, and Frisk: Uh oh! *gulp* Oh my god, please don’t, “Uncle” Gaster! *The three kids pleaded in unison as Gaster summoned blasters to hold their legs against Asriel’s bed*
As of right now, Chara, Asriel, and Frisk are lying down in Asriel’s bed. When facing the bed, Asriel is in the middle with Chara lying to the left of him (Asriel’s right) and Frisk lying to the right of him (his left).
Gaster: Hehehehehe; too late, little ones. You did something you shouldn’t ever do in front of the Ultimate Tickle Master; so now you must pay the penalty. *said Gaster to the three kids cheekily with an “evil” smile on his face before doing something rather mischievous to their little feet* Hehehehehe.
Chara, Asriel, and Frisk: PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF… HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! *Chara and Frisk hug Asriel tightly* EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK/BAAAAAAAAAAAAAH/EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! *the three kids laughed preciously and hysterically as their “uncle,” Gaster tickled their little feet with summoned hands in addition to his own hands* “UNCLE” GAHAHHAHAHAHAHASTER, NOHOHOHOHOHOOHOHOHHO, HAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA; STOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOP!!!!!!!!!! *they pleaded, wiggling each one of their cute little toes frantically as a means of dealing with the current tickle torture* HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK/BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH/EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK/BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH/EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE HOHOHOHHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHO HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA~!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like Chara isn’t the only one that wants to snuggle with Asriel tonight. Frisk wants to snuggle with him too, which is why she, along with Chara and Asriel are all currently in Asriel’s bed. And Chara and Asriel are perfectly fine with Frisk joining them. The more the merrier! :D
Gaster: Hmm, I could stop. But, what fun would that be? *asked Gaster teasingly, tickling Asriel and Frisk’s feet with summoned hands and Chara’s feet with his own two hands* Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe.
Chara, Asriel, and Frisk: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK/BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH/EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!! HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE HOHOHOHHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHO HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA~!!!!!!!!!!
After 2 minutes of tickle torture, Gaster made his summoned hands and blasters disappear and stopped tickling the Dreemurr kids’ feet, much to the Dreemurr kids’ relief. But why did he tickle their feet in the first place?
Gaster: Hehehehe. Oh, you kids, hehehe, that’s what you get for purposely sticking your cute little feet out underneath the blanket and then wiggling your little toes in front of me all the while you’re within tickle range. Hehehehehe.
Ah. Chara, Asriel, and Frisk teased Gaster. That’s why he tickled their feet. But they wanted him to tickle them though, which is why all three of them teased him with their bare feet in the first place. ;)
Chara: Heeheeheeheehee!! We know, “Uncle” Gaster. That’s why Frisk, Azzy, and I did that. The three of us absolutely love being tickled by you.
Gaster: Hehehehehe. Yes, I can tell. And that’s good because it makes putting smiles on your cute little faces all the more fun. Hehehehe. *Gaster said with a chuckle as he began caressing Frisk and Chara’s heads with summoned hands and petting Asriel’s fluffy belly with his own two hands as means of helping them relax enough to fall asleep*
Chara and Frisk: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ooooh, thanks, “Uncle” Gaster. Mmmmmmmmmmm. That’s very nice of you. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Asriel: Mmmmmmmmmm. Agreed!! Mmmmmmmmmmm. Ohhhhhhhh my goodness, I love belly rubs so much! Mmmmmmmmmmm. Ohhhhhhhhhhh.
 Gaster: Hehehehehehe. X33
Gaster then spent the next few minutes caressing Frisk and Chara’s heads and petting Asriel’s fluffy belly.
 A few minutes later…
 Chara, Asriel, and Frisk: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm~
Gaster: Hehehehehehe. Ok, good night, little ones.
Chara, Asriel, and Frisk: Mmmmmmmmm. Good night, “Uncle” Gaster. …We love you.
Gaster: Hehehehe. I love you too. X33
With the Dreemurr kids on the verge of falling asleep, Gaster left Asriel’s bedroom and made his way into one of Toriel’s guest bedrooms to wind down for the rest of the night.
Frisk: Mmmmmmmmm. Good night, you guys. *said Frisk to Chara and Asriel right before falling asleep* Mmmmmmmmm… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz~
Asriel: Mmmmmmm. Good night, Frisk. Mmmmm… Huh?
Chara: I love you, Asriel. *said Chara all teary-eyed, hugging her brother moments before falling asleep herself* …I always have… and I always will. …You do know that, right?
Asriel: …Mmmmmmmm. I do, Chara. *assured Asriel with a brief nuzzle moments before falling asleep himself* I most certainly do. *yawns tiredly*
Chara: …*smiles happily and sheds a single tear* …Wonderful, truly wonderful. …I’m so lucky to have you as my brother, Azzy. *yawns* And I promise to continue being a better sister to you. *Chara said lovingly, prompting Asriel to give her a big hug in response*
Asriel: *sniffles* Oh, Chara, I know you will. *Asriel said all teary-eyed, hugging Chara lovingly* But again though, you weren’t ever really a bad sister to begin with.
Chara: *sniffles* And again, do… do you really think so, Azzy?
Asriel: *sniffles* Oh, Chara, *sniffles* I know so. …I truly know so. *he said while hugging Chara even more* And, please; please don’t let that tragic incident get the better of you, all right? *sniffles* Because it most certainly doesn’t define the person you are today. There are always going to be those times in your life when you’re going to fail. It’s inevitable. But how you deal with failing… is what makes you stronger. …Our parents… taught me that… and I’m sure they’ve taught you that too.
Chara: *sniffles* They have. *sniffles* They most certainly have. *sniffles* Thank you so much, Azzy. You always know what to say. *said Chara to Asriel while proceeding to give him one last hug good night*
Asriel: Hehe. *sniffles* Well, I try at least. *said Asriel with a heartwarming smile*
Chara: Mmmmmmmmmm. *sniffles* I love you. *Chara said to Asriel lovingly while giving Asriel a good night kiss on his cheek*
Asriel: *sniffles* Ha… Ha… I love you too. *Asriel said while giving Chara one last nuzzle good night*
 Chara and Asriel: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz~
And with that, the three Dreemurr kids were sound asleep, cuddling each other happily and peacefully until having to wake up and get ready for school the following morning. X33
Chara, Asriel, and Frisk: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz~ X33
 ………
Meanwhile… in the guest bedroom where Gaster is resting…
Gaster: Hehehehehe; 5 more days, little ones. *said Gaster to himself while looking at a picture of Frisk, Chara, Asriel, and MK smiling and acting silly together* 5 more days *pauses for dramatic effect* until it’s my turn. *he smiles “evilly” and both of his eyes glow RED instead of orange and blue!!*
THE END.
 …Gaster will return

Languages I speak: English, mostly. I understand a fair bit of French and Spanish and some Japanese, but I can’t speak any of those very well.
Most Iconic Song: Like a song that describes me? Oh, wow, that’s tough ... probably several combined. I love “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield, and “River Flows in You” by Yiruma, and that’s ... all I can think of right now.
Random Fact: I’m going to see Fantastic Beasts in an Omni-IMAX (dome theater) tonight and I am HYPED.

Homestuck is Fucking Important
Okay, here is my definitive story. I know this may only appear to whoever follows tags or my ten-or-so followers, but I feel like writing it is important so whatever.
I’m not the usual Homestuck reader. I started reading the webcomic in my freshman year of college, back in 2015-16. I actually “discovered” homestuck by hearing about Toby Fox and Undertale, and I was really intrigued when I read about Homestuck. Checked it out, and couldn’t stop reading it. So, no, I didn’t experience any of the “homestuck moments” like waiting for upd8s or the gigapause, but I still felt welcome.
But here is some context. I was going through a lot in my first year at university. Through the transition from high school to college, I really became cognizant of my anxiety issues, and how the affected my daily life. That said, I am one of those “type-A” anxiety-depressives, so I thought I could work my way out of my anxiety! I even went out and joined a competitive Drum Crops (think major league marching band) because I wanted to “confront my social anxiety.”
My issues got a fair bit worse as the academic year went on. I don’t remember too many of the details (I guess let sleeping dogs lie), but it wasn’t a good time. I remember taking lots of online quizzes about my mental health, maybe that’s an experience you’ve had. And when I finally got help from a psychiatrist, it those conclusions were validated and more: anxiety, yes, but more importantly depression; this helped because not only did it diagnose a problem but it explained a lot.
But wait! Wasn’t this post about Homestuck? Well, this is also when I started reading Homestuck. Homestuck was in many ways, part of my road to recovery. Homestuck gave me something to care about. Homestuck wrapped me up for months and kept me grounded as I was trying to figure out how to care for myself.
Every once in a while, I get fixated on a piece of media I read awhile ago: Studio Ghibli Movies, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, etc. Whenever I re-read Homestuck I am astounded at how real Homestuck feels. How vivid the characters are. How gorgeous the music is. Homestuck is filled to the brim with raw emotion and feeling—the essence of what it really means to be human. This is why I think Homestuck helped me so much: I could give and feel empathy to characters and a work of art that would give me some feeling back. I remember a lot of nights of thinking about the characters or watching the [S] panels over and over again because I haven’t discovered the best way to find the soundtrack.
And in those darker moments of that year, you fucking bet that mattered.
Homestuck was always there for me. And recently I was reminded that it will always be there for me:
I’m in a much better place than I was three years ago, but while that year I was getting used to starting college, this semester I am getting ready to say goodbye. From a kid with some mental health hurdles ahead of him, I grew a lot—right now I’m procrastinating research for my thesis to write this, and I need to figure out the whole “grad school situation.” And yeah, this is an anxiety-prompting situation for anyone with or without a diagnosis.
I made a friend my sophomore year who also read HS, and we exchanged late christmas gifts recently. I got her one of those book versions of the comic, but she made a beautiful glazed tile with all the Homestuck icons on this—beta kids, alpha kids, trolls, you name it. Freaking gorgeous.
That was a few weeks ago. I was just thinking about it, and realized all this just today. So, I really think that you all should hear this said even in 2019:
HOMESTUCK MATTERS! HOMESTUCK IS FUCKING IMPORTANT!
> Don’t stop being cool

Best of BBC First 2018 with a cheeky look at 2019
By Alexandra Wilbraham
First published in Dutch translation: https://www.bbcbenelux.com/blog/?article=bbc-first-benelux-best-of-18-19
Joy to the world and welcome to our round-up of BBC First’s best of 2018. Prepare to get festive as we celebrate a fantastic year of BBC series. Stick around to the end to find out what amazing new content you can look forward to in 2019.
So, pull on your Christmas jumper, the one you keep stashed away at the back of your wardrobe and pop on a Santa hat. Make yourself hot cocoa, go the whole hog and decorate your beverage with whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate shavings. Light some cinnamon candles and snuggle up on the sofa as we dive into the pile of presents this year had to give.
In the first month of 2018, the BBC gave to me! Well, it kind of works. January started with fireworks and a new series of Silent Witness. First broadcast in 1996, the series has seen many cast changes over the years. Series 21, however, saw the return of the amazing Emilia Fox as forensic pathologist Dr Nikki Alexander. She and her dedicated team (Liz Carr, Richard Lintern, David Caves) work closely with the London police to solve a slew of mystifying murders. Sometimes the best witness is a dead one.
Travelling back in time, if I can remember where I parked the T.A.R.D.I.S., to London in the early 1960s, we were again joined by the nuns and nurses of Nonnatus House convent. As they provide care to the expectant mothers of London’s East End, they find themselves tested both personally and professionally. Series 7 of Call the Midwife puts a bit of a downer on the festivities as we said goodbye to the beautiful Barbara (Charlotte Ritchie) whose grave, decorated with a red rose and toy carousel, we lingered on in the poignant final moments. However, with sadness comes joy and we saw both new and familiar faces appear at the convent. Leonie Elliot (Black Mirror) joined the cast as Caribbean midwife Lucille Anderson and a return of Nurse Trixie (Helen George) was heavily hinted at.
Guess what, we’re still in January! But we’re off on our first holiday of the year as we join Detective Jack Mooney (Ardal O'Hanlon) on the sun-soaked island of Saint-Marie. Peaceful isn’t it? Sadly not. Because, even in the beautiful Caribbean, crime will always spoil your day. Series 7 of Death in Paradise has Jack rise to the challenge in a bid to impress the commissioner and make his mark on the island. Luckily, he has his team to support him as he has some almost impossible mysteries to uncover.
Wake up! We’re back from our island vacation and straight into February. Before heading back to city life, we get to spend some time in the English countryside, rolling hills dotted with small villages, rural parish churches and large country houses. There is also a fair bit of murder.
Don’t worry though, as series 6 of Father Brown sees Mark Williams (Harry Potter) return as the charming local priest and amateur detective. Although he is at risk from old foe Katherine Corven, who looks for revenge on Father Brown when she is suddenly released from prison. I think we should move on to March and hopefully, we’ll find ourselves in a safer environment.
To sleep, perchance to dream as March arrives with a series completely new to the BBC – Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators. No, not William and Anne. Although this comedy-drama mystery is filmed in Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon. Two well-known TV faces, Jo Joyner and Mark Benton, star as chatty ex-hairdresser Luella ‘Lu’ Shakespeare and out-of-shape and short-of-money private inspector Frank Hathaway. The highly unlikely and hugely entertaining detecting duo quickly discover that all is not as peaceful as it seems in their picture-perfect theatre town.
Brace yourself. Our next March series drops us straight to the front line of series 3 of Our Girl. We do get to travel internationally, but this is no holiday. Series 3 takes female army medic Georgie (Michelle Keegan) and the tightknit unit of soldiers in 2 Section from a humanitarian mission in Nepal, across Afghanistan and to a Nigerian refugee camp. With the arrival of old flame Elvis (Luke Pasqualino) and new recruit Maisie (Shalom Brune-Franklin) tugging at her sleeve, Georgie must face the highs and lows of army life while also fighting her own personal battles.   As the soldiers face kidnapping and assassination attempts, they have to confront the ultimate battle: head versus heart.
May the merriness be with you. Or rather the conflict, since this family is already in the divorce court before the relationships start crumbling. New family drama The Split follows Hannah Defoe (Nicola Walker), a member of a family who all work as divorce lawyers in the same firm. Following a bitter argument, Hannah takes a new job at a rival firm where she reconnects with the only other man she ever imagined sharing her life with, and her estranged father returns after 30 years. It sounds exhausting but makes for a smashing series.
Ring the bells everyone! The month of June means we are halfway through our TV year. A perfect time for the first Agatha Christie story to be adapted for the BBC by screenwriter Sarah Phelps, who also penned the script for J.K. Rowlings’s A Casual Vacancy. A wealthy philanthropist is murdered and her son Jack dies in prison, accused of her murder. A year later, a mysterious stranger arrives to prove Jack’s innocence. If his story is true, the murderer is still in the family. In one of Christie’s most satisfying stories, the cast presents a host of well-known faces, including Bill Nighy and Anna Chancellor. Murder, plot twists and a fantastic cast. Can it get any better?
It most definitely can! September brings with it the second instalment of Christie magic. Now, how well do you know the person next to you? It’s the question that made Agatha Christie the best-selling novelist of all time. And Then There Were None sports an all-star cast, including Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) and Aidan Turner (Poldark). Ten strangers, each accused of a terrible crime, are lured to an island mansion and quickly find themselves at the mercy of their unknown host. And Then There Were None has seen many adaptations, but this is the first screen version to include Agatha Christie’s original, less cheery, ending.
It’s time for the home stretch everyone! With October we welcome a third Agatha Christie series. In Sarah Phelps’s second Christie adaptation for the BBC, the cast is headed by Toby Jones and Kim Cattrall. Witness for the Prosecution is the perfect Film Noir for a 1920s London. It’s a thrilling two-part drama about the murder of the rich and glamorous Emily French. All evidence points towards her young lover Leonard, but how will the jury decide?
The cold days and Idris Elba go together like bread and butter, or an attractively greying beard and a warm woollen coat. In Series 4, Luther introduces himself very non-dramatically: ‘There are some things you might have heard about me that could be true.’ If that is how Luther introduces himself to his colleagues, you should take care not to become his enemy. After a leave of absence living a reclusive life on the English coast, Luther is back in London on the trail of a cannibalistic killer, while also attempting to uncover the truth behind Alice's apparent death. With trouble following him wherever he goes, the case is fast becoming a test that will push Luther closer to the edge than he’s ever been before.
There we are. 2018 is all wrapped up, but there are more presents under the tree. 2019 is just around the corner and there is so much BBC content to look forward to. Why don’t you have a peek?
In 2019, fans can look forward to Emilia Fox’s 14th outing as Dr Nikki Alexander. Cast members David Caves, Liz Carr and Richard Lintern are also confirmed to return. Although not much is known about the 22nd series, actor Richard Lintern has said the new series will focus on bringing in London more as a character than has been done before.
New year, new Call the Midwife. Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes, who will always be Professor Sprout to me, joins the cast for the Christmas special and the first episode of series 8. Fenella Woolgar (Victoria & Abdul) and Ella Bruccoleri (Genius: Picasso) move to Poplar as newcomers Hilda and Frances and (yeah!) Helen George returns as Nurse Trixie Franklin.
In series 8 of Death in Paradise, Shyko Amos joins the cast as officer Ruby Patterson. She has, what shall we say, a unique take on crime fighting. From a local radio DJ murdered while live on air to a zookeeper killed by a poisonous dart, Jack and his team definitely have their work cut out.
Welcome back to the beautiful English countryside. Let’s just take some deep breaths of fresh air and ignore Father Brown trapped outside on what is a dark and stormy night, with a murderer on the loose. Don’t bother yourself with the kidnap of Lady Felicia and Mrs McCarthy. I’m sure everything will be fine.
A new adaptation of Victor Hugo's 19th-century classic Les Misérables is packed full of big-name actors and this time none of them has to sing. A brave choice, considering the success of the long-running musical and Oscar-winning Hollywood film. Dominic West will lead the cast as Jean Valjean, with David Oyelowo as the obsessed and villainous policeman Javert. Olivia Colman takes on the role of the abusive Madame Thénardier, while Lily Collins will play Fantine. Adapted by Andrew Davies (War and Peace, House of Cards), the six-part drama will delve deeply into the story of love, revolution and survival, vividly bringing to life the vibrant and engaging characters.
When you manage to book Richard Geer (Chicago, Pretty Woman) in his first major television role for 30 years, you’d better have a story to match. MotherFatherSon is an eight-part original drama created and written by Tom Rob Smith (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story). The story revolves around the toxic relationships of a mother, a father and, err, I forget the last one. Anyway, Gere plays Max, the owner of one of the world’s most influential media empires. When his son Caden’s (Billy Howle) self-destructive lifestyle spirals out of control, he and his estranged wife Kathryn (Helen McCrory) have very different ideas about how best to support him.
And finally, he might not be sporting Hercule Poirot’s trademark moustache, but John Malkovich as the iconic detective is already heading the list of 2019 must-watch television. Malkovich is joined by a collage of well-known faces, including Ron Weasley, I mean Rupert Grint, as Inspector Crome. 2019 sees the adaptation of the ABC Murders by the incomparable Sarah Phelps.
Poirot faces a serial killer known only under the alias ABC. Using the British railway network, the killer strikes methodically, leaving behind nothing but a copy of the ABC railway guide. Poirot must find a way to match his nemesis and, in the process, everything about him will be called into question: his authority, his integrity, his past, his identity.
And finally, that’s 2018 dusted off and stored back in the attic. I hope you enjoyed our little excursion through the best of BBC First. With 2019 almost upon us there is so much more amazing BBC content to come. What were your favourite series and moments of 2018? Are you looking forward to a fabulous 2019 on BBC First? I definitely am.
From me and all of us at the BBC a very merry festive season and a happy new year!
