it really boils down to the fact that Cap was always so so so alone in life.

As a gay man in a violently homophobic environment but also just as a man earnestly too gentle for the armed forces and the expectations they bring along. Captain stood in that room full of people and yet he felt alone. He was dying and no one even tried to help him.

Except Havers. Except Havers who saw and recognised and respected him. And in the end, Cap has to carry Havers' swagger stick for the rest of eternity, almost like a reminder that he was loved by someone after all. That he wasn't entirely alone.

-Headcanons for Robin I've had going through my head for hours now🫣

・Robin went millions of years without knowing about his power over electricity. So maybe he found out about lightning somehow through a living who stayed/lived at Button House and all of his memories before his death added up. The last thing he would've heard and seen would be a loud bang and a flash of light... Then nothing, not really any indication that THAT was the cause of his death...back then anyway. And we know that when his emotions are at their peak, he causes lights to flicker and bulbs to blow, maybe one day he was at near breaking point for whatever reason in whatever emotion and a bulb blew right by him (kinda like how in Matilda when she looks at the TV, gets angry, and it explodes)? Then he began practicing on lights placed around the house. 

・At some point, Robin obviously learned that he died because of lightning, not the bear (even though he still blames the bear😂) and the science behind lightning related deaths: essentially cooking to death from the inside. He knows what lightning can do because when he rushes to save Mike in that one episode he keeps looking up at the sky, he knows what he's about to do and he's watching to make sure he gets there in time to make his move. He knows that he's the only one who can save Mike because lightning IS electricity.

・Robin and Mary most likely felt more connected to each other after learning about each other's deaths. Robin knows how Mary died since he was a witness to it all, he saw that Mary was innocent... Strange, but innocent🥰 So after learning about how Robin died, Mary most likely felt less alone in her circumstances; She burned to death on the outside, he burned to death on the inside

・Robin most likely has a gaydar. He's seen homosexuality all throughout the ages in all shapes and sizes, even in his own tribe. There was most likely a hunky guy in the tribe who could snap a Mammoth tusk in half with his bare hands. Back in his day, who WOULDN'T be attracted to that?😂 Most likely the reason he knows about The Captain and Anthony Havers. Other than seeing it with his own eyes, he probably had an inkling that The Captain had feelings for Anthony Havers; Robin picks up on small details, so he'd be keeping an eye on body language and eye contact between two people. He'd know instantly. (Also Robin would definitely be president of the Button House Pride club if there was one😂

・Robin has a soft spot for kids. Clearly, he had many many of his own babies, so he's very used to them. But look how he behaves around children and young teens; when Sophie Bone (age 12) comes to Button House, he's all over her like a rash trying to pick up on what she's saying... And ends up learning a wholeass language... Let that sink in. He also most likely never left her side during her many years there, he slept on her window seat for crying out loud🥺) Then there was those kid's birthday party at the house. Even though they couldn't see him, he was still dancing around and being silly with them. Then after Julian accidentally caused a cup to fall on the floor and smash, he rushed over to it and tried to tell Alison, maybe because he knew it was sharp and one of the kids could cut their foot on it? 🥺and did you hear his laugh in that scene, like did you really listen to the way he laughs... Heartstrings WERE tugged🥹

・Robin most likely felt a little bit paternal over Kitty. He watched her grow from a child into a young woman, he obviously knows her better than he'd probably like to admit. When Kitty is upset, he doesn't just brush it off like everyone else, he sticks around to tell her it's okay to cry and that it'll make her feel better (🥺❤️) along with Mary (surrogatemumanddad). They stay with her until she falls asleep and LOOK at how they melt when she does sleep, like LOOK

When Kitty sings, look at the faces Robin and Mary make, tell me those AREN'T the faces of parental bliss😂 (I also don't think it's a coincidence that they sat Robin and Mary next to each other in that scene).

Kitty got the lead role an he was proud, need I say more...And during their pantomime rehearsal when Fanny badmouths Kitty (Cinderella), the look on Robin's face. He's like 'we're just gonna ALLOW this?!

・Robin most likely related to Pat in most ways. He knows what it's like to be taken away from his family so quickly so soon, especially with so much depending on him. When Pat goes into a depressive state over his family coming to pay their respects, especially with his wife and former best friend, he gets conflicted. But look at Robin, he's hella quick to jump in and correct Thomas's harshness. He knows how it feels after all; being forced to just WATCH your family mourne, not being able to tell them you're alright, and then comes a day where they stop coming. Robin most likely lingered in that spot where he died for hours in confusion, until his tribe began to search, and when they finally found him it devastated them. His sister's sorrowful, wailing cries, his children huddled around him trying to wake him up, the elders and possibly his parents saying blessing to Moonah to watch over him😭Robin doesn't sugarcoat the situation, like telling Pat to enjoy it while it lasts or to hope for the best, he tells Pat how it REALLY is because he's been there countless times with countless tribes and families. Times gonna pass, things are gonna change and you won't see the people you love ever again, but more will come (honestly Robin should be called 'Owl' cause he's wise asf🥹❤️)

Alright so, earlier today I saw a post that showed the original concept designs and ideas for the ghosts. My little brain-rotted brain decided to over analyze the images and I noticed that the Captain’s medals are different to the ones he has canonically.

So naturally, I looked up a Wikipedia list of WWII medals given to British soldiers (and those in the commonwealth) here’s them in order from left to right:

- Military Cross: Awarded for "an act or acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land.”

- Italy Star: For personnel who served in the Italian Campaign from 1943-1945.

- France and Germany Star: Awarded to those who served in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Germany and adjacent sea areas between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945.

- War Medal 1939-1945: Given to those who had served full-time in the Armed Forces or the Merchant Navy for at least 28 days between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945.

Also note how the Sam Browne belt (the one across his chest) is on correctly, with the buckle visible at the front. His medals are also put on correctly, since the 1939-1945 War Medal is opposite to the canon design. Also, his shirt underneath his uniform is the correct green-ish colour, same to the one Havers has in the flashback. As opposed to the white shirt he canonically wears. (Obviously he also has a hat but idk how significant that is.) The swagger stick remains the same, along with the little pineapple-looking gold pins on his lapels that show he was in artillery.

Canonically, Cap has two different medals that replace the Military Cross and the Italy Star. Instead he has the 1939-1945 Star (teal/light blue, red and dark blue on the far right) and the Defence Medal(green, orange, and black, second from the left)

- 1939-1945 Star: Awarded for 180 days of operational service or 60 days of operational flying.

- Defence Medal: Awarded for both non-operational military and certain types of civilian war service.

We know that the belt and the medals are backwards. (how he managed to get the belt on without seeing the buckle? I have no idea other than someone else putting it on for him.)

So, what does this all mean? I haven’t a clue! I just noticed the differences and decided to compare them! Instead of making a little side note like a normal person, I made a super long post instead! You guys can take this info and theorize as you please.

Hi Anon! This is a sentiment I've seen and heard a lot over my years of being on the internet. I cannot give you tried-and-true, works-100%-of-the-time advice or anything, though. I can only share my own experience. Here's a list of some important ways to create original work on the internet:

1: Don't care if other people are interested in your original work. I know this is extremely hard on the modern day internet... but at the end of the day creative hobbies and careers rely on personal dedication and enthusiasm in order to thrive and be consistent. Relying on the feedback and enthusiasm of others is a slippery slope, because that enthusiasm can wane and you cannot control it. Being totally obsessed with your own work truly is the only way I've found that makes creating art fun, fulfilling, and exciting after years and years of doing it!

2: Draw whatever you want, when you want to. Invest your time into honing your craft, storytelling and draftsmanship. Your time is limited in life, and it becomes an incredibly valuable resource the older you get. Don't use your time stressing about how to gain an audience. Just make what you want to make and eventually your people will find you. Get so good at what you do that they can't ignore you!

3: If you only care about numbers getting bigger (followers, likes, shares): draw fanart. Characters and Intellectual Properties that are already familiar to an audience makes the barrier to entry extremely low (depending on how well known the IP is). Doctor's note: This approach may creatively drain you and leave you unfulfilled as the years grind on. Side-effects include one day waking up to find you resent the audience you courted by relegating yourself to a single interest for all your years... But hey, it's easier than putting in the work to become a master of your craft!

4: The Bait-and-Switch method. This is a less soul-crushing way to do #3. It goes like this: Draw fanart (or illustrations which don't require context and can be appreciated on their own) to attract an audience. Then share your original work in-between to get the audience that sticks around to care about your original ideas and characters. Classic bait-and-switch. (Note: This is what I do! It's not as calculated or sinister as it sounds, though. I'm an artist with lots of interests, and drawing is how I express my feelings about things that emotionally touch me. I create fanwork when I want to, then go back to drawing my silly little characters in their silly little scenarios when I have scratched the itch.)

5: Unfortunately, you have to make the dang thing. If creating characters is something you find fun and relaxing but you don't want to actually make a story with them, that's fine. Not every creation needs to have an epic tale that goes along with them. Not every character has to have their world put down on paper. There's nothing wrong with that. However, if you DO want to make a story with your characters, the best way I've found to get people interested in them is to actually make their story. Just as you are invested in characters as you read a book, watch a movie, tune in to weekly television programs, or play out their story in a video game so too will audiences find interest and intrigue by reading your stories. Context is the best hook, in my opinion!

6: I'm serious, stop looking at numbers and equating them with value. I've seen breathtaking artists with less than 10 followers, and I've seen artists whose work I would describe as 'schlock' raking in hundreds of thousands of hits. It doesn't mean anything. Just create in your space, and create it the way you want to create it.

The whole thing with Murray’s comments and Nancy and Jon getting together…. It is set up in such a way that it can be read as a situation where an ambitious teenage girl was pressured into what she was “supposed” to be. Nancy was told by a man that she respected and who took her seriously (and was the ONLY one to do so, so Murray gained an untold amount of trust from Nancy immediately, and the show just brushing off their relationship is such a loss but ok), that in order to be her real self she must dump Steve. Now Murray was just poking at two teenagers with a metaphorical stick to see what would they do. Understandable position, as a younger sister haver love doing that also (not with romantic feelings though but Murray was never meant to be ethical). I doubt that what the comment meant for him can be easily translated into what it meant for Nancy (let alone Jon, who thinks that he is better than most people and that he is definitely better than Steve, so I imagine he was nodding along). But he did influence her into becoming an investigative journalist. Like Murray with him taking Nancy seriously influenced her into two major life altering decisions (career and significant other). Like wow. And they never interacted again! Fucking hate st continuity.

Like Nancy dumping Steve because Murray told her to do so is a major thing. It’s BAD for jancy. Before s4 I thought that they were not mentioning it because jancy happened and was the endgame. But with them toying with stancy and likely knowing that they might toy with stancy all along??? Why did they not leave it open to interpretation. It’s such a juicy storyline, it shows the magnitude of the influence that you can have on a teenage girl, it’s beautiful, it’s painful, it’s the stuff of a real love-triangle (which is hard to make interesting but that would make it interesting!!!). Why did they write it then??? Whyyyyyy?????

I am much more of a murray fan when he is being a weird gay conspiracy uncle guy and isn't matchmaking, it must be said.

He and Nancy have the potential for a really interesting dynamic! It really is a shame we don't get to see more of it tbh. and you are so right in what his comment meaning to him and what it meant to Nancy and Jon separately would be so different! I don't know if Nancy would necessarily feel pressured by it, (though I wouldn't say she wasn't, either) but maybe it would vindicate something of how she was feeling about her relationship with Steve at the time and her feelings for Jonathan? Like a "oh this man I respect and who takes me seriously also thinks Jonathan is better for me, thinks I should go for it. Maybe I will..." kind of thing?

And lol yeah so true Jon just had his own conception of himself and Steve and their relationships with Nancy confirmed by Murray. he just kinda got...permission? I guess? to make a move on Nancy even though he was the one bringing up Steve both times he's mentioned on the road trip.

Totally see where you're coming from of Murray's influence not being mentioned because you figured Jancy was endgame, makes sense (if boring) to not question it if it doesn't need to be addressed as an issue because the pairing is canon for the rest. But now the teen love triangle has been brought back.... you're so right it is bad for Jancy. It brings up stuff about them that a lot of people (especially the Duffers!) don't want to deal with or acknowledge. Though I don't think they were planning the whole time to bring stancy back I think that sort of happened because the duffers unfortunately don't know what to do with Nacy if she doesn't have a boy to look at and Steve when he isn't pining over Nancy.

There's not enough time left to fully and satisfyingly delve into the issues between the original older teens, especially since some of those issues aren't treated as issues. It would be interesting to see, and also so so juicy, the complicated relationship they have with each other because of the UD etc, but I don't think a whole lot of interesting canon material will come from it (though that doesn't mean fan content can't!!) just based on how other romantic relationships and their dynamics with each other have been treated through the show. tbh I think maybe s5 will tease the love triangle but ultimately either end up with them all single (my preference) or with Jancy still together.

Well, as its Ghosts season 5 eve, I think its about time I give my final theories to how The captain and Kitty die.

Idk if promo pics count as spoilers, but they are below the cut

Starting with Kitty. Honestly, I think its going to be either food poisoning or an allergic reaction from the pineapple, but it will be spurred on by Eleanor.

I mean, look how much fun Kitty is having, she's laughing with everyone, and Eleanor looks so damn salty and jealous.

I mean, we know she isn't above trying to make Kitty sick (the warm oysters), plus we have seen kitty throw up as a ghost. I imagine the party would eat the pineapple, it begins to make Kitty ill and Eleanor would notice and would make a game of it. Something along the lines of "oh its horrid, lets see who can eat the most", expecting her to throw up and embarrass herself, not die.

Im leaning more towards food poisoning because chances are that pineapple would be rotten as hell by the time it reaches the Uk in the georgian era via boat.

Above all, I want to see kitty realise that Eleanor was a bitch and start unpacking that trauma. Bonus points for genuine kitmas bonding over the fact their familes are terrible.

Second of all, The Captain. Whoo boy I have feelings about this one, its a much less solid theory but it makes sense.

We all know the beloved cracked mirror in the intro but it got me thinking, what if its a metaphor for a broken image?

We all know Cap is big on appearances, but in the promo pics we see him looking like hes getting grilled by the general (wiki told me the red bits mean general, dont quote me though, also, stick my beloved).

Ever since Redinng weddy, I have wondered if Cap was ordered to bury the bomb. I doubt it considering its active explosives in someones back garden so I came to the conclusion that the "letter/operation william plans" were actually letters and Cap buried them with the bomb to keep them safe. But then, a suposedly important Government secret operation goes walkies? Thats a situation right there.

What if, after getting his medals, the general complains that he isnt worthy of them/is a spy or german ect (some Havers is a spy theory here, I dont love it but it would make some sense in this context) and it kind of adds up too much, so the other soldiers try and get rid of him. If a fight was to break out it would explain why he has the stick, he grabbed it out the general's hand trying to defend himself. Similarly, the draw opening in the intro could be someone grabbing a stashed away gun, causing panic (maybe cap finally got his service revolver). We also know a man was murdered in the library (said by Robin in the little promo film), I can only imagine it was teased because it was relevant.

Obviously this is a less solid theory but it would explain the weird expressions in the promo pics and tbh Im biased towards the Cap was murdered theory. Hypothetically, it could also be why he only wants to be known as The Captain, if the General tried to revoke his title after he got his medals.

Also Lord Brigadier Sir Anthony Bartholemew Raisinby Jones mayhaps?

I mean regardless of what happens,they are my babies and im going to go feral. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Fear of forgetting (Why I think Captain died from Alzheimer’s) (Essay?)

(SPOILERS FOR PRETTY MUCH ALL CAP LORE!!! TW: Discussion of death, brief description of a brain with Alzheimer’s)

What if Captain died of Alzheimer’s? It would explain why his medals are upside down, why his belt is on backwards, why there is no physical injury apparent in causing his death, why we never hear his name, why he was back at Button House five years after the war ended, and why he put a different letter than the one in his office in the bomb box.

But why would his belt be on backwards and medals be the same in the flashback? As a person who has seen many, many people die/suffer from Alzheimer’s, the first symptoms are usually casual forgetfulness and slowly diminishing of routine, but still trying to keep it. Cap is an extremely routine-driven person, he’s said it himself. Maybe he just kept on putting his belt on the wrong way and either 1) forgot to change it and slowly feel into the routine of putting it on that way without realizing it, or 2) keeps on noticing it’s on wrong but not being able to do anything about it because he forgets, and slowly forgetting that it’s on wrong at all. This goes for the medals, too.

But how would the Alzheimer’s theory explain his name? He clearly knows it, but the camera cuts off at just the right moments. Another common symptom of people with dementia, specifically Alzheimer’s, is being SO confident in doing things that they’ve done countless times before (like remember their names), but have forgotten how to do them because of the condition. We obviously don’t know what the Captain said after the cutoffs, but the fact that the other ghosts know his name and he never says it on screen is a little strange. It’s also a little weird that Pat used it as a quiz question when Cap, if he knew his name, would’ve known

It also explains why there is no physical evidence of the cause of his unalivement. If you look at CT scans and pictures of a normal person’s brain compared to one with Alzheimer’s, there is a noticeable difference. Alzheimer’s brains are dry, clotted up and shrunken. The brain cells, subsequently, can fail. If the brain fails, it’s not long until the whole system shuts down.

This ties into one of the possibilities as to why he was at Button House 5 years after the War had ended. Button House was a station that didn’t have a lot of action, based off of Captain’s line, “Maybe if they do invade, we’ll get a proper shot at (something I can’t remember)!” and Havers’s subsequent transfer in order to actually fight. It had a good possibility of being turned into a hospital for injured soldiers, considering its size, location and lack of action carried out there during the war. My theory is that they let Captain work there for a few years after the war because he had nowhere to go and they needed workers, but promptly realized he should be one of the patients and didn’t tell him out of fear of disrespecting his ranking (or just fear of a mental breakdown and how that would look socially and how that would affect the inner workings of the system), but slowly eased his work into almost nothing, while still letting him hold his rank. They didn’t have a lot of treatments back then other than alcohol to help you sleep, which, along with his already blurred worldview, would’ve made the lie a lot more convincing. If he did see through it, he would forget it in less than thirty seconds, anyway. It would also explain why he died in his uniform, with a swagger stick that went out of style at the end of WW1. Nobody told him☹️

There are a lot of reasons why he could’ve buried a different note in the bomb box than he had in the office (note: look very closely at the font on both of them. They look almost identical but if you look closer they’re different.), my personal favorite theory is that the letter in his pocket WAS actually a love letter instead of blueprints, but the other possibilities align better with the theme. 1) He simply forgot where he put the blueprints and had to make a copy lmao. 2) He actually wrote two different notes that were ment to look the same (one was the love letter) but unknowingly made himself forget later by making them look so alike, and he forgot that he had made two. 3) Someone else replaced it, trying to mimic his hand. “Not a single spy flew under my radar” or maybe you just forgot to remember the signs they had shown over time.

The Alzheimer’s theory explains the most of Captain’s character out of any theory i’ve heard recently, apart from the $-¡(¡de theory (Sorry I had to censor it, don’t wanna get flagged) and it is the saddest one in my opinion. He shows a lot of the signs and personality traits associated with the condition, so I just thought I’d share. Thank you for reading my ramblings. Uuh some joke about a ted talk idk it’s 2AM rn.

Billy Lenz Holiday headcannons

So I'm not a Christian or really religious for that matter. But I do still celebrate the commercial Christmas with my family and I love winter in general. And what better way to start off the holiday season then with my favorite short king, Billy Lenz. Black Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie and I have to write this or I am going to explode. Also If I write about Christmas in the future then know it's about the commercial, gift giving, family celebrating kind and not the Christian kind unless I explicitly say it is. Like I said I'm not religious and I want everyone to be able to enjoy my holiday works but I'm still including some mentions of Hanukkah and a religious Christmas for fun. Also one last thing because this is getting long, if I ever mess up or get something wrong about Hanukkah please tell me so I can correct it.

Warnings: Billy being Billy, dead animal mentions

So let's assume that you've been dating Billy for awhile now. He loves the Holidays and he's so excited to spend them with you because he has no family to spend it with.

Now Billy's love languages are physical touch and quality time so he might not be the best at gift giving. You'll also have to explain that, no Billy a dead raccoon is not a gift anyone wants.

Now he's probably going to steal you or make you something for the holidays. It might be something simple like a little drawing of the two of you or a pair of stolen earrings from the attic.

He'll want to help you decorate around the house. Keep him away from glass and you're good. He loves putting ornaments on the tree and wrapping ribbons around things.

Speaking of Ribbons Billy is great with tying bows and just using his hands in general. So he'll happily help you tie ribbons on gifts if you need the help. Just let him know he can't open the gifts.

With enough "practice" I feel like Billy can go to a holiday party with you. He's not a fan of drinking and hates the smell of cigarette smoke so that's a bit of an issue but otherwise he'll be well behaved at the party.

If you're cooking something for a party he'll want to help. But I can also see him taking bites of random ingredients like videos of those cats doing the same thing. Don't be shocked if you find a chunk of butter being bitten out of the stick.

But he will also eat anything you make. Billy is a bit of a thinner man but I think he can eat anything under the sun if he tries hard enough. I'm also pretty sure that he could eat an entire turkey or ham by himself in one sitting if he hasn't eaten anything else that day.

I don't know a lot about Hanukkah because I'm not Jewish but I'm pretty sure that eating more greasy foods is apart of the celebration and Billy is all for that. He'll ask you to make an ungodly amount of food so he can eat most of it. He's in no way a picky eater.

I also feel like Billy isn't religious but if you invite or want him to celebrate any form of religious winter holiday with him he's happy to join you. He'll ask a ton of questions about everything and if you want to take him to a temple or a church please take the time to make sure that he understands the rules.

If family comes over Billy will be polite unless they start to be assholes. If someone comments "Save some for the rest of us", "You're really filling out", "You're really eating all of that?" or anything along those lines he's going to have to be let outside or else he's going to yell at them for insulting you.

If it snows where you live expect Billy to ask if he can borrow a coat and gloves so he can play in the snow. He'll be happy to play by himself but he won't complain if you want to join him.

He'll make a snowman with you, eat ice ciclles and snow too. Probably won't throw the first snowball but if you do then he's going to get super competative with throwing snowballs at you.

He's also a chronic cold hand haver so expect for him to shove his hands on your warm skin if you're close enough. I can also see him being the kind of person to shove snow down your shirt if he thinks you deserve it.

Billy also loves old Christmas cartoons, like the stop motion ones and other classics. Please sit with him on the couch and watch one of those movies with him.

What are your fave post-manga headcanons for Teru?

OOHHHH ok I have a few! tbh I usually don’t have a lot of hcs, but some that I really like for teru:

I’ve seen people talk abt this one a lot already, but I love the fact that he’s found a passion for teaching! I think he’d probably feel most fulfilled when he’s encouraging or inspiring others, so I think that along with sticking around with the awakening lab, he’d probably help grow the lab as well, reaching out to other esper kids and forming some sort of community

I also love the idea of him hanging out at spirits and such more, just like whenever he’s bored or just for fun, bc I think for most of the series we see him in a complete 180 from his initial personality, with only glimpses of how difficult that must've been for him. So I like the idea that after the ???% confrontation, when he realizes that Mob is also average, then he becomes more relaxed and more comfortable in his own personality, and more comfortable with just hanging out at the office with everyone else

I want him and Tome to be besties

I also want him and Tsubomi to be besties

I like to think that he'd probably meet Tsubomi when she visits Mob sometimes, and it might be a little awkward at first, but I also like the idea of Tsubomi becoming more comfortable w/ herself after moving away, especially away from the pressure of being the school idol, so they realize pretty quickly that they have a lot in common actually (school idols who are actually weird as hell) and become bffs forever

I actually don't think he and Tome would get along that well at all at first, but eventually they're just both at Spirits and Such enough that they adopt a weird sibling dynamic anyway

I'm a firm believer in ADHD haver Teruki, I think he'd probably try to rope Mob and everyone else into whatever hyperfixation he's having at the time. They try to start a band at some point, but Mob has no rhythm, Reigen almost loses his hearing completely, Serizawa briefly considers asking for overtime pay, but everyone else has a Great Time.

I'm also a huge fan of the Teru + Shou besties agenda, but I haven't thought much abt how that happens yet

also I don't think he knows how to cook! he tries, esp once he starts working out seriously, but I don't think he's good at it!

Oh good lord, the Captain’s death just about broke me. That last desperate run - his heart literally breaking - Havers knowing - and that ridiculous swagger stick turning out to be Havers stick all along and the Captain clings to it as his last memory of the man he loved.

Why are all the silly little comedies breaking my heart this year?

ROLESWAPPED JRWI RIPTIDE.

Jay is Chip now! Her parents were in the navy and died in battle, with no where to go she was taken up onto the black rose pirates. She met Gillion in his family's tavern, recruiting him onto her own ship, The Jaybird.

Ava Ferin would take Edyn Tidestrider's role in the story. Of course, we never end up fighting any Ferins in this version because they're all dead, but they're replaced with...

Gillion Tidestrider, the new Jay! Having been raised as a navy soldier in a town halfway on land and halfway undersea, he worked at his mother's tavern, then met Jay and joined her ship, originally for the purpose of helping the Navy but quickly finding himself endeared by the gang.

In this version, Edyn would take the role that Ava Ferin takes in the orginal story, so as much as it pains me, Edyn is dead :(

Another notable change would be that Gillion would not have Pretzel or Apple, but I couldn't just leave out the most important character so instead...

Chip, as the replacement Gillion, has to have a Pretzel. I know canonically he gets fire powers, but I thought it's be neat if he was all plant based, so he has plant powers and Pretzel is just a mushroom he brought to life. Chip was raised in a jungle kingdom seperate from the rest of the world, being taught about a prophecy in which he decides whether the land or sea remains. He was banished after murdering a navy representative who was visiting.

Chip would probably have the biggest personality change due to his lack of a childhood of pirating. I did decide to change some things, the navy representative was Jay's father and Chip did fully kill him that day. I figured that's make for more angst.

Ramblings about the Captain’s death (Part 1)

I would love to discuss it with a like-minded person, but, considering how super-into Capvers the entire fandom seems to be, you’re probably safer not going down there.

Because I, for one, don’t feel that Havers’s return was all that necessary. And, while I read the article where LR talks about looking forward to telling “the rest of the Captain’s story”, I find it hard to believe that’s the story they had in mind.

As far as I’m concerned, it was clear from s2e3 that the salute at the gate was the last time the Captain ever saw Havers, and thereupon decided to “bury the feeling and never let it out again”; that’s exactly what we’ve watched him doing for five years.

In fact, to me it felt like s2 Havers’s feelings for the Captain were more akin to «Tu deviens responsable pour toujours » kind of fondness. That’s highly debatable, of course, – but only because we didn’t get to know s2 Havers at all. What we saw was the perfect version through the Captain’s eyes, which was my favourite aspect of how “Redding Weddy” was written.

“Carpe Diem” (I mean the Capvers part, of course) doesn’t have the same magic. Despite, supposedly, being a story told in the Captain’s own words, it lets outsider POV slip in: though the close-up on their hands, through tragically esthetic fading to black where the Captain’s freakout about becoming a ghost should be, and through Havers, frankly, behaving like he’s read the script and knows the Captain is about to die and needs to urgently get a hold on everything he’d like to bring along to the afterlife (symbolism and subtext aside, it makes even less sense for Havers to be carrying the swagger stick in the first place).

All in all, I understand fanservice, but surely there were other ways to give Havers a cameo, considering how little it did for those actually invested into the pairing? And how it obviously ate up the time needed to tell the actual “rest of the Captain’s story”:

I want to be buddy buddy with Deidoro so bad and I can only account this to two reasons: despite the fact I hate alcohol I think drunks are fun company and I love volunteering to be the sober party with anyone but also thanks to some factors I know while under the influence of things that would make a normal person dizzy, sick or off balance I have a knack for walking in a straight line and if I really push it or practice I can appear well balanced no matter what and appearing relatively level headed if silly so if it's no trouble can i get some headcanons to Deidoro being work partnered up with someone who wants to be his friend and can stand to be in his presence especially with his quirk in mind bonus points if it can end in a snippet of him getting a crush

(I wish I had the same opinion on intoxicated people but as per awful experiences my whole life I won’t go into detail/or trauma dump on ya’ll here. I will say that some drunk people are kinda funny to interact with. Luckily I headcanon him as being somewhat tolerable if you haver a sense of humor. Very annoying to some of the other precepts but it’s to be expected lol)

-I can’t see this being rougher on anyone than Nemoto. This is considering that you were placed on the team with him and Deidoro. Since then it’s been like babysitting for him. Sometimes you were able to help keep Deidoro in line but other times you were only caught egging on his behavior. When you first arrived you seemed to meld into the small team pretty well. You took Deidoro’s jokes and put your own out in place of them. After a while, Nemoto stopped feeling the need to apologize on the drunkards behalf. The two of you got along more and more until you’d nearly become inseparable. It was hard to walk around the base and see one without the other. 

-Whenever there was a large get-together at the end of the month to celebrate a successful month within the Hassaikai, you usually remained sober so as to play the part of the designated driver and/or baby sitter for Deidoro of all people. Lucky for Nemoto he was able to take a break with you being there...even if you were the one causing him to make annoying shrill laugh of his. After a few more minutes to an hour, he was feeling really good. He was definitely sloshed and with his quirk he had a few of the others feeling the very same as well. However, you were nearly immune to everything which is why you were the only one who could drive him home. 

-Sooner than later you began sticking around more often after taking him home. He wasn’t complaining of course. You seemed to be slowly wiggling your way into his life when eventually he started wanting you there more instead of less. Then everything he liked to do in his lonesome became something he preferred doing with you instead. The two of you spent more time outside of work together. At some point you stopped visiting each other and you were basically at Deidoro’s house nearly everyday of the week. He even cleared out a special drawer for you to put all your items into at his house.

-He’d pretty much fallen for you by then end of the year but hadn’t really gathered the courage to ask you out on a date just yet. Oh well, perhaps he would find the time later tonight when the two of you clocked out of work together? Yeah...that sounds like a good idea.
