all in all, despite the weather and the health issues that have kept me from my knitting machine for so long, i am very glad i got into flatbed machines rather than CSMs. CSMs are super cool! i love the vintage ones that are all metal, theyre super cool!! but 1. theyre super fucking expensive and 2. i cant even wear short row heels. they dont fit my foot anatomy at all.

got my flatbed at a fucking steal of a price altogether and i looooove making heel flap socks on it, now that i know how. they're honestly even easier on my spine to knit than short row heels were, but i think that was partially an elbow support problem. i might need to invest in a chair with armrests...

i cannot believe fcg died and the very next episode, robbie daymond returned to the table as dorian storm, confirming that dorian has been upset since leaving the bells, that he's unsettled in the realization that he's missing something, something he ran from, something that he didn't have but that he wanted, and wondering why he's with the crown keepers at all.

and i cannot believe the bells hells disappeared on orym's message to dorian:

“We’re home. Can you hear me? Northeast of Bassuras... Can you get there? I’m struggling... sorry… can you get here? Fuck, I miss you.”

which means that (so long as dorian survives this trek), we'll get to see his response to that message, and hear his reply, but more importantly: orym will hear his voice for the first time since episode 49.

i know joe is a (Legally Distinct From The Muppets™️) felted marionette-and-hand puppet this season but i really like to image him as a sock juppet for the sake of my own personal amusement

when i was a kid i would make one of my dolls these dresses that were socks with holes cut in them for her arms and head, and then i'd use my very limited sewing knowledge to very poorly and loosely embroider designs on them. and i like to imagine that the @ symbol is something akin to that level of embroidery, just like. literally a line of string that is not really held down at all outside of the very ends where it enters and exits the sock. i also feel like with this theoretical design the eyes are buttons that are hanging on by a thread - literally - and made of like. hard plastic. the type you'd find in a spare button tin for if your pants need an emergency button

idk if it translates well but the brown "hair" is the heel of the sock

Names and pronouns are, in an odd way, gifts, like socks you got for the holidays.

Sometimes your parents give you a first pair of socks that're really comfortable and feel good, and you choose to wear them all the time.

Sometimes those socks aren't the right size, or they're uncomfortably itchy or generally a bad texture, and they aren't great for you to wear.

Some people prefer to get new socks that do fit them and are more comfortable, and just wear those.

Some people like to collect different socks, picking up different patterns and colours to fit the vibe.

Some people don't like socks at all and prefer to, like, just wear sandals or go barefoot most of the time.

Some people get different styles of socks from their friends and family, and like to wear them on different occasions (like nicknames! but socks!)

It's all up to personal preference. You don't have to go by an uncomfortable name, you don't have to wear the socks you're given. Sometimes you outgrow them. Sometimes they're uncomfortable to begin with. And that's okay.
