Speaking of asks though I’d love to request a Johnny fic where the reader is completely aware that she’s being manipulated, and that nothing but bad will come of associating with Johnny. Except her saviour complex gets the better of her, and not wanting to waste the amount of effort she’s already put into the relationship, she pushes on with the mindset that she can be the one to change something inside him, only to be completely wrong and at his mercy, regretting the fact she ever thought of this man as fixable.
Johnny is of course making fun of her the entire time, finding her perception of him completely out of touch and naive, shaming and humiliating her. You can definitely make it smutty too should you want. 😳

Sorry for taking so long on this one, I had an idea for it forever ago but I had to wait for them to release Johnny's Shack so I didn't get to it until now, I hope it was worth the wait 😈
••••
“Always knew you were a lil ditzy. Didn't think you were full-on stupid, though,” Johnny teased, grinning down at you. Your wrists were in one of his hands as he pressed you against the beverage fridge in the ‘Last Chance’ gas station. Drayton Sawyer cleaned the countertop, trying his best not to look curious.
“I just wanted to see where you worked!” You protested, trying to keep your voice low to keep from drawing attention. You had secretly followed Johnny here after he'd spent the night at your place.
But the moment you walked into the gas station, Johnny cornered you, as if he’d known you were following him all along.
“Told ya not to worry about my job, sugar,” he leaned in, his lips inches from yours. “Now you're really in for it.”
“Johnny,” you breathed in his exhale, cigarettes and iron. “Is something wrong? Let me help you.”
You knew there were plenty of things wrong with Johnny; how manipulative he was, his secretive nature, and that he was struggling to commit. But something told you not to give up. Someday, there would be a breakthrough.
You could still save him.
Johnny had left your house this morning with his mind elsewhere. He barely kissed you before he left to who knows where. You'd had enough with the secrets.
“Dumb little bunny. You can't do shit to help me. Best you manage is addin’ to my problems,” he said, sneering.
Your brow furrowed, the urge to protest growing stronger. “You've barely tried to trust me! Six months and I've never even seen where you live!”
A trucker stared at you two from across the gas station, quickly averting his eyes when Johnny glared over his shoulder.
Johnny turned back to you, drawing even closer, his grip on your wrists tightening. “You wanna see where I live, hm? Well, I guess I don't got a choice but to show you now, do I?”
Your next batch of complaints died in your throat. “W-wait, you mean it? I can see your home?”
“Now that Uncle Drayton has seen you, he'd think it were improper if I didn't.” He tilted his head, his smirk growing.
You wondered why Drayton would want you to go home with Johnny, but you were too elated to worry about logistics.
Johnny released your sore wrists and took you by the waist, leading you back to his truck.
Finally! Was this the breakthrough you'd been waiting for? Was Johnny finally opening up? You didn't want to get too ahead of yourself, but you felt proud as you hopped in his truck, and he took off down the dirt road.
It only took fifteen minutes before you pulled up the long gated driveway lined with sunflowers toward a beautiful home.
“Wow, Johnny! Your home is beautiful,” you said cheerily, holding his hand over the console.
He mumbled a response and continued down the drive, stopping outside of a brown shed with bull horns hung over the doorway.
Johnny turned the truck, which rumbled to a standstill, and then opened your passenger door, helping you down to the gravel.
Much to your surprise, he headed for the shed and opened the door, waiting for you.
“Oh,” you tried to hide your flustered expression, feeling stupid. Johnny laughed and smacked your ass as you entered his shed.
“Thought my ma's place was mine? Ya really are a dumb little bunny, ain't you?” He chided.
“Sorry, I just-” you trailed off, your eyes flitting around the shed. A ratty couch covered in beer bottles and empty cigarette boxes, a kitchen piled high with unwashed dishes, and far too many freezers greeted you.
Johnny's fingers caught your chin, pulling your attention to him.
“You’ll have plenty of time to look around later.” His hand trailed down your chin to your neck with a loose grip. He kept drinking you in, an inkling of regret in his eyes.
“You just had to stick your nose where it don't belong,” he said under his breath, his dark gaze intense.
“I just wanna help you, Johnny. If you'd let me see your place earlier, I coulda kept it clean for you.”
“You will, Bunny. You'll keep it nice and clean for me. And you'll make my dinner. And clean my clothes,” he said, smiling. But his smile was… off.
“Do you want me to move in?” You asked.
“In a sense,” he said.
“Why are you lookin’ at me like that, Johnny?” You asked nervously.
“Cause I'm tryin’ to figure how you stay alive with so little brain function.”
You flushed with embarrassment. “You don't need to be so rude,” you said, averting your eyes.
“Will it make things more clear if I do this?” Johnny let go of your chin and walked over to the front door. He proceeded to lock three locks, and then padlock the final one, draping the key around his neck by a silver chain.
“Is there something dangerous outside?” You asked, your eyes growing large.
Johnny barked a laugh. “Sort of. You see, my uncle Drayton don't take well to me keeping girls around. My ma neither.”
He saunters back over to you. “I was doing well keepin’ you a secret, but well, now that Drayton has seen me with you, he'll be wanting meat.”
“What?” You asked, your throat running dry.
“My uncle Drayton is famous for his BBQ. And for good reason. After all, he uses the freshest meat,” he said, coming to a stop in front of you. You were still standing by the wall beside the front door, which he pressed you against.
“What does that have to do with me?” You asked anxiously.
“Young, supple little bunnies got the most tender, sweet meat,” Johnny purred. “Just can't get enough of it. I keep hunting down naïve little rabbits, and he cooks ‘em up and sells ‘em at the station.”
“Rabbits? You're talking about rabbits, right?” You asked.
“Ditzy little bunny. I could scoop out half your brain and you might be better off.” He gripped your ass, pulling you against him. “You're the meat. Or you should be. I tried to keep you out of it honey, but you just had to get curious.”
“Drayton eats people?” You squeaked, horrified. “Wait, he feeds people to people?!”
“Mmhm. I catch ‘em, we butcher ‘em, Drayton cooks ‘em. Nice lil system we got goin’. And you should be next on the table.”
You gasped, all the blood draining from your face.
“But don't worry, sugar. Johnny won't let that happen. The moment you walked into the gas station, I hid your face from Drayton. All’s I gotta do is find another girl who looks like you to take your place.”
“This can't be happening,” you groaned, feeling sick to your stomach.
“Hey, hey now,” Johnny soothed, caressing your clammy cheek. “I got you, bunny. As long as you stay nice n’ quiet and don't leave home, I can keep you alive.”
“I c-can't leave?” You asked, your lip trembling.
“If my ma sees you, she'll kill ya herself. Na, it's better ‘f you stay right here.”
“I'm gonna be sick,” you said, pushing him aside and running to the sink. Your vomit coated the old pots and dishes, adding to the already rancid smell.
“Now, bunny,” Johnny said as he placed his hands on your hips, “remember this is all because you didn't listen to Johnny. Because you thought your dumb little fantasy of saving the bad boy was gonna come true.”
You whimpered, your entire body trembling as you dry heaved again.
“Now, I'm gonna be the one saving you, baby girl. All you gotta do is behave, and be a good girl for me. Can you do that?”
You stared at the vomit-coated sink and wondered if the rancid meat in the pan swarmed with maggots was human.
Johnny spun you around, pressing you against the disgusting sink.
“I said, can you be good for me?”
You shook in place, terrified and frozen.
Johnny slapped the dumb expression off your face, replacing it with one of anguish as you fell to the floor, hitting your head on one of the cabinet knobs beneath the sink.
“Answer me, dumb little bunny,” he snarled, kneeling down and forcing your gaze up to his by gripping your hair.
“Yes! I c-c-can! Please stop!” You sobbed, cradling your cheek.
A malicious smile unfurled on Johnny's face.
“I Caught and killed plenty of pets before, but never kept one,” he said. “I promise I'll try my best to take care of you, baby. Keep you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed,” he said happily.
You couldn't hear him, your ears were ringing so loudly. And still somewhere in your dumb little bunny brain, a little voice shouted- “I can still fix him!”

SAVIOUR COMPLEX (Pt. 4)
(Pt. 3)
Rated: M
TAGS: language/past abuse/stalking/Mark Hoffman being a c*p/sensuality/reader is normal and likes to do normal things/Mark is protective bc it's his job but he's also problematic/because he's a c*p
Mark can't sleep that night because of the one thought that turns over in head on repeat.
Who the fuck was at your apartment?
Compartmentalize.
1. Mark is Jigsaw
2. Mark is not hunting you
3. Jigsaw is not hunting you
4. Someone else is hunting you
5. The police think Jigsaw is hunting you
6. He'll likely have to continue watching you unless you put up a fight about it.
At the end of it all last night, you seemed to hate him
And for some reason, that's the part that bothers him the most. Did you somehow think he's the one stalking you? You have no reason to suspect him of anything.
Of course, he's not stupid. He saw the look in your eyes last night. You put up a nonchalant front, but you are terrified of something- someone. That's who has to be hunting you.
Mark feels a sort of tightening in his chest. Is it because he's somehow jealous? Like no one can commit such acts other than him?
Or, shock of all shocks, he's come to care about you in some small measure?
He has to admit, as he stares at his bedroom ceiling, that he's grown fond of you, in the ways he can. This, despite you intentionally antagonizing him.
His biggest gripe before last night was that his work as Jigsaw has been out on an indefinite hold, and now that hiatus will have to continue.
This puts Mark in two compromising positions:
Find who's stalking you.
Dispel any concerns that Jigsaw is hunting you.
Both are difficult but the latter will be impossible if he can't get away from you. Shit, maybe you should ask for a different officer.
The thought makes him feel strange. It haunts him until he steps into the precinct the next morning. With a heavy sigh and bags under his eyes, Mark stalks to his office with a cup of coffee in hand. But when he opens the door, he finds you standing inside, arms across your chest, staring out the window.
You turn at the sound and he clocks immediately that you didn't sleep, either. He hesitantly closes the door behind him and takes a seat at his desk.
“I'm gonna be honest. I didn't think I was gonna see you again after last night.”
You move your arms to wrap around yourself.
“Yeah. About that. I know that you only ever try to- that you only ever help me.”
You bite your lip and come to sit across the desk from him.
“I have a hard time opening up. Especially to men. Especially in positions of power.”
What a damn fool Mark feels like. He suddenly realizes how he recognizes you.
He sees the same strands building through you as he did Angie.
“So…what didn't you tell us? What didn't you tell me?”
“I wasn’t at the plant by random chance. And…I know who was at my apartment. “
“Not Jigsaw, was it?” It’s a statement, because of course he knows it’s not Jigsaw.
“No.”
“How do you know?”
“I couldn't tell the cops why I was really there that night. So I can't tell you.”
He’d laugh if he isn’t so genuinely curious what the truth of the situation is.
“You have to.”
“The fuck I do.”
Your abruptness forces the next words out of his mouth. “Don't force me to do something neither of us want. You tell me, and I'll decide if it's a secret worth keeping.”
You squint at him with scrutiny. “Why would you do that?”
“Personal interests. Why were you at the plant that night?”
He watches your eyes narrow at some middle-distance point.
“My ex-boyfriend. Cliche, I know. He was horrible in all the ways you could imagine him being. I think that, if he hadn't been arrested, I never woulda left him.” You take a shaky breath.
“What'd he go to prison for?”
“Assault, battery, theft, drug charges, you name it. And yet, before two weeks ago I never stepped foot in this building. He was released early on parole- good behavior if you can believe it. I never said anything. People like me don't often get justice and, no offense, the PD doesn't have the best reputation.”
Mark rolls a pen between his fingers and the desk.
“And? You went looking for him?”
“Yes.”
“To confront him?”
You take a breath. “I was gonna kill him. At least, that's why I went there. But once I was outside I just…couldn't do it. That's when I saw Jigsaw. Or, at least I think I did.”
Mark nods and mulls over your words. It makes sense so far, even if some of the moves are stupid. “Okay… I understand why you wouldn't tell the cops you were there to kill your boyfriend-”
“Ex-”
“But what if he's the Jigsaw killer? Ever think of that?”
That’s right. Get the target as far away as possible.
You shake your head too fast for his convenience. “No, he couldn't be.”
He can’t help the bite that comes with your words. “Why the hell not?”
“He's a bastard, and some days I do wish he were dead. The things he did…but he's not a killer. He's also not smart enough to pull something like that off.”
“What if he's muscle? Doing Jigsaw's dirty work?”
“He's not.”
“Then why the hell would he show up back in your life?”
“I think… When someone let slip that I was a witness, and what I saw and where…he probably figured out I was looking for him. It's stupid. But I'm still scared.”
“You said he's not a killer.”
The look in your eyes makes him sick. “There's things worse than death, Mark. Things I know he's not above doing. But he's not a meticulous serial killer. He just isn't.”
Mark takes a moment to think in silence, slowly turning his chair back and forth. You shift in your seat, antsy.
“Look, you don't have to believe me but that's the truth of it. The whole truth.”
Then, a thought strikes him.
“Well…what if you told the police you think he's the Jigsaw killer?”
You freeze. Your mouth falls open.
“What, lie again?”
He spreads his hands like it’s obvious. “There's a chance he'd end up in jail, probably get a life sentence. Then he can't hurt you or anyone else ever again.”
“I want him to answer for his crimes, not someone else's. And if he goes to jail, then the real Jigsaw killer would still be out there hurting people. And then he'd be let go anyway. Why would you even suggest something like that?”
A look of disgust comes across your face and he’s genuinely taken aback at your reaction. His next words are honest.
“I just want to help you. Protect you.”
“If Ted goes to prison and Jigsaw kills again because I lied, then I'm complicit in murder. You get that right?”
“So, what? We just keep doing this dance until…?”
“No. I know I lied and I’m sorry about that. You can tell the chief that you think I’m not in anymore danger-”
“He won’t believe me-”
“You can even tell them I lied. But…it’s not fair to you to be strung along because of something I said.”
He watches you. You…feel remorse? For protecting yourself?
The image of Angie mutilated flashes across his eyes and he squeezes them shut, shakes his head.
“I’m not going to do that. We’ll wait this out. You’ll stay safe. If Ted pulls something like this again, we’ll get him. That’ll confirm that he’s the one stalking you and then this whole thing can be put to bed.”
When he’s plotting, he doesn’t notice you watching him. If he had, he would’ve noticed the confusion and then the dawning realization on your face. He cares about you. He won’t tell your secrets. He’ll lie for you.
He looks at you and you nod your head.
“Y-yeah. Okay. If you’re sure.”
“I’m sure.”
Mark stands and you follow suit. He tries to gauge a reaction as he places hands on your shoulders. You don’t move, don’t tense. Then, carefully, he pulls you into a hug.
You sigh into him and the sound tightens his chest. Maybe he sees too much of Angie in you. Maybe he's glad to have someone else to protect. Or maybe…
You must be compelled by some strange force because when he pulls away, you've got your hands on his lapels, then one on his cheek.
And before you can get any further, Mark pulls your hand down, his palm dwarfing yours, and he sighs.
“It would be… problematic to take advantage of you.”
He's a serial killer. A sadist. Why should he care?
You bite your lip. “And how would you be doing that?”
“I'm in a position of power.”
And yet he doesn't move.
“Protecting me. Following me. Let's face it. You talk big shit but if I say jump, you don't even ask how high. You just do it.”
A growl reverberates from deep in his throat. He's uncontested. Always in control.
But here…he doesn't move.
You put your hands on him again. Your fingers curl under his lapels again and this time you use the grip to pull him down to you as you kiss him. You don't get too heated with it. Just to test the waters.
He returns the kiss, though. You feel good. Your lips seem to fit perfectly with his and, to his surprise, he doesn't mind you taking over.
At least, not first.
You back him up to the desk and with the impact he's forced to sit. He feels a hand snake down to palm at his hardening crotch and when he gasps, you take the opportunity to slip a tongue in his mouth.
“How many times have you fantasized about this?” You ask against his panting breaths.
“About this? Not yet. But me bending you over my desk and fucking you from behind? Plenty.”
“Wouldn't kill you to give up some control now and then,” you whisper, undoing his belt.
“It would, actually.”
He watches through lust-hazed eyes as you sink to your knees between his legs.
Christ, it's too good to be true.
He uses his hold on your hair to gently guide you away from his crotch.
“As much as I love this view- and make no mistake, I do love it. I think we should save it for later. This carpet’ll ruin your knees.”
He helps you up and pecks you softly on the lips.
“Let me take you out to dinner.”
You smooth down the front of his jacket where you rustled it.
“Such a gentleman.”
“Better than taking you straight home.”
“Not here?”
He tucks a strand of hair behind your ear and leans in to whisper.
“Because when you cum, I want it to be as loud as possible.”
He relishes in the way you shudder from his words. But you compose yourself quickly enough to catch him before he pulls away.
“I was thinking the same thing about you.”
And you bite his ear and it takes everything in himself to not take you right here and now.
“You gonna get home alright?” He asks, his eyes softening.
“Yeah, I'll make it.”
“Nah, I'll drive you home. Gotta run an errand anyway.”
“Shit. You gonna become one of those possessive guys that never lets me out of your sight?”
“Don't tempt me.”
You gather yourself and he follows you out the door of his office, but not until he gives your ass one final squeeze.

—deceit; touya todoroki.
ʚ todoroki touya x reader | my hero academia | 0,9k words. ʚ you're a respected hero who was fooled into believing that dabi has changed, that he's willing to repent. in actuality, he used you to siphon intel to the league of villains. ʚ profanities; angst; sad ending. ʚ a/n me when i write more sad stuff.
Tumblr media
“Leave,” you spit out, anger bubbling in your stomach and you visibly shake from it. “Get out of my house.”
The term your house is true. This is your apartment, but it was his, too. One of his jackets still hang behind the door from the last time he wore it. His slippers lay neatly in your shoe rack in the entryway. There are food in your fridge that he purchased from your last grocery store trip. Everything has his name written all over it, and you haven't had time to erase it.
As much as you want to, the police and the Hero Public Safety Comission have been all over you. You're suspected of treason because you were harbouring the notorious Dabi, even though when he came to you, he told you he wanted to change and needed your help. You should've called the cops on him, but perhaps it's your saviour complex or perhaps it's his persuasive way of talking. You didn't. You ended up letting him in your house.
One thing led to the other and the two of you had something. It looked a lot like love, but it wasn't. It was deception. He used you. You never had qualms about Hawks doing the same thing to infiltrate the League of Villains, but it hurt.
He sits at the edge of your open window, letting the night breeze brush against his naturally white hair colour. His blue eyes peer at you, keeping his head against the window frame. One of his legs are folded close to his body, foot firmly planted on your windowsill while the other dangles lifelessly out the window.
“I would have come back sooner or later, sweetheart.”
Angry tears prick the corners of your eyes. “Don't call me that.”
You rummage through your sofa, coffee table and kitchen counters to find your phone. You made a mistake once and you won't fall for it the second time. You're calling the cops on him as much as you don't want to.
“I'm holding onto this for now,” he says, waving his hand that is holding your phone.
You dash forward for the phone, closer to him—and it was too close. As if he burns, you jolt back. He pulls his hand back, your phone dangles dangerously outside.
“Give it back,” you demand. “You fucking asshole.”
Touya's gaze soften when he turns to look at you. You scoff. What a great actor.
“I missed you too.”
“Shut the hell up, Touya.” You wince. The name is too familiar—personal. You swear not to call him that again. “Why are you here? Don't you dare lie to me.”
“I never did.” He shrugs.
You scoff. “If you're going to be a piece of shit, the least you can do is admit it.”
“I never did,” he insists. “Not once. I meant everything I said to you. I meant all the sappy shit—the I love yous, the pillowtalks.”
“You expect me to believe this?” You ask indignantly. Does he really think you're that naive? That stupid? Does he really think you're so easy to fool?
He sighs, closing his eyes, knocking his head back on the window frame. “You can't seriously believe that there was nothing.”
The problem is: you can't. You don't think that when he wakes up early to cook you breakfast is just part of the act. Or when he washes and dries your hair. Or when he brings home little things—sometimes desserts or keychains or a little do-it-yourself kit to do together. Or when he traces your skin. Or when he kisses you so passionately your lips turn swollen and red.
You swallow. “No.”
His eyes light up ever-so-slightly. “Yeah? We really had something, didn't we?”
“This is what you're here for?” you ask angrily. “To what? Rub salt on my wound? Feel some sort of validation from me?”
“I'm here to say sorry,” he rasps softly. “Fuck. I couldn't let it end the way it did.”
Your mind rewinds back to that fateful day when your team attacked their hideout. You see him, standing victoriously with a satisfied smirk as he watches you. You remember trying desperately to get everyone out—it was a trap, after all. They had known in advance.
He had known in advance.
From you.
Wreckage. Injury. Deaths. All on your conscience because you couldn't keep your mouth shut. Trusted a convict a little too much. You thought you would be the one to change him, but he was still a villain.
“What's the point?” You sigh out, slumping on your sofa, tracing the expanse of his skin on the night-sky backdrop. You hate him. You love him. Is it possible to feel both simultaneously?
“I don't know, sweetheart. Fuck.” He runs a hand through his hair. He truly doesn't know. “I'll go.”
His hand twitches, wanting to reach out to you. There's a strong desire to comfort you as you sit dejectedly on your couch, even though it's caused by him. He turns, ready to hop off your window, but you call out.
“Touya.”
He likes his name when it falls from your lips. Without turning to look at you, he answers, “Yes?”
“If — If I ask you to stay, right now. If I say, it's okay, come back to me, would you?” You ask, your chest tightening. “Would you leave everything behind? For me?”
Touya wields fire. Fire bends to his will and to the winds, but he doesn't. He's an immovable thing, like Excalibur fixed in the stone and you aren't the one who holds the power to draw it out. You know it. You don't even know why you bother asking.
“I'm sorry,” he says, jumping off, leaving your phone on the windowsill. You don't rush forward to see where he goes. You slowly walk to the window, geabbing your phone and dialling the Hero Public Safety Comission.

Theory:
Rain hasn’t become as empty headed as he seems that’s just how he looks in Sky’s world.
Hear me out. The second half of LITA is based on Sky and Prapai what if, we’re just seeing how Rain looks to other people. When the story was focused on him you can tell that he is smart though he has a tendency to hyper fixate on things. Rains story shows him being thoughtful but Sky’s story shows him to be…a bit more airheaded.
Tumblr media
Mind you, Rain is aware that he’s very naive and more book smart than anything else. Rain kind if hyper fixates on things to the point where things become easily ignorable. They are not on his radar, especially if it is something that he doesn’t understand.
It’s understandable why he has such a complex with everyone calling him stupid. I honestly think that explains why Rain became so defensive when Payu said it. To Rain it’s like here is my saviour and he thinks I’m stupid. No I have to prove him wrong as opposed to people who’s opinions he doesn’t actually care about all too much.
I have strayed from the topic. Rain is different because we see him how Sky sees him. Payu is the same because Sky doesn’t really know Payu.
Disclaimer: Sky might view Rain as airheaded but that doesn’t mean he looks down on him. In fact that might just be the thing that attracted Sky to Rain in the first place. I am also aware that I might be very very wrong.
I feel like I’ve lost track of where I was going with this.

Guys, just wanna know what's your take on this question of mine
All Might is a pivotal figure in the MHA verse and so is Shigaraki due to his family bloodline. Would you guys, in any part of your MHA rewrite have had AM confront Shigaraki or would you leave that for Izu to handle the situation. AM has a saviour like complex, he wants to save everyone. After knowing Shigaraki's relationship with his mentor, Nana Shimura, do you guys think it would be AM's nature to reach out and help Shigarki?
My question may sound very stupid and ridiculous but it just had this thought suddenly pop into my mind. Do let me know

Hi Arsene!!!! What are your and informant’s favorite things about each other?
i’m gonna write one for me (s/i) and me (irl)
Informant -> S/I
i have a f/ovember comic talking about this!
for a little more insight behind it, because of how they share the same sort of leadership role in their “occupation” (informant is the head of a network of agents) they then would face the same kind of expectations to uphold towards the people around them
especially since he has always felt like an outcast, he would favour someone who feels the same as he does. the sense of comfort he gets from them is something that’s deeply important to him
Informant -> Me
I think he’d like my perseverance, if that’s the right way to put it.
There was a time when i was in a really bad place mentally and i had major exams that were coming up in the following weeks and i went through with them
my counsellor told me that most students would have skipped out on them to get the exams done privately so she said that it was really brave of me to continue taking the exams
i think informant would admire something like that.
S/I -> Informant
I rarely talk about the seeker’s side in the relationship, mostly because there really isn’t anything, like I talked about in my other post about them, they’re a bit of a blank slate. They don’t really get to have the time to understand who they are as a person other than being the seeker
One of their favourite things about Informant is how polite he is (but as stated earlier, his feelings for them is why he behaves like that towards them)
and I know that seems a little shallow but in my lore with him, the requests that come from the townspeople seem more demanding as compared to how Informant phrases things, it’s very “let’s do this together” rather than “could you do this for me” explained why in my dissection of this comic of course he drops a bit of the politeness when he’s caught in a situation but besides that ^___^
Me -> Informant
My favourite thing about him (as a person) would probably be how capable he is ^___^ as someone who fumbles a lot, I super super admire how he’s always steps ahead of everyone or of how confident he is in his intuition. Will look death straight in the eye and not flinch!! Also how like the seeker, he’s a pillar of support :-) even though he’s not too physically affectionate, he’s someone I can go to in times of need and he knows that he too can be vulnerable around me ^.^
My favourite thing about him (as a character) would be the emotions he feels about being a monster. I mentioned this when I first came across the werewolf arc, that it gives this underlying reason of why he is so willing to give everything up for the townspeople — connected to his stupid saviour complex
Cause it’s as if he gains an appreciation for the people around him, a love for humanity after losing and temporarily regaining his own (the way he’s a werewolf but has to take potions daily so that he won’t transform)
and along with that (I mentioned this one in tags) it’s like he wants to leave a good impression on people so that if he dies and the werewolf secret eventually comes out, people would remember him for his good deeds rather than the destruction he caused. Almost like having a saviour complex to combat the fact that he’s this dangerous force of nature

I remember now, why I don't usually shade my art. BECAUSE IT TAKES FOR FFFFFING EVER!!
Anyway: my babies! My beloveds... OC info dump under the cut:
Grey (aka. Faust) is Knox's older brother. He's quite a bit older, around eight years, so he taught Knox a fair bit of what they know about fighting and mercenary work. Sadly, the household they grew up in was abusive, driving Faust to eventually reach his limits and leave when Knox was about thirteen, absolutely shattering the bond they had.
He didn’t really have a plan, and was arrested by the interpol shortly after he left home when a very messy fight with the gang he was in at the time attracted their attention. However, a senior officer took interest in him because of his exemplary skill set, and offered him an ultimatum. In exchange for a light jail sentence, Faust agreed to join their rank and file— this was also when he was assigned his code name ‘Grey’. When he had first left he had intended to come back for his siblings as soon as soon as he found a way he could support both himself and them, but by the time he was done with jail time and was permitted by the interpol to walk freely, both Knox and their middle brother had left home.
As he continued to gain the trust of the interpol and work his way up the career ladder, Grey begins to abuse his newly earned security clearance to find out what he can about his siblings. Unfortunately(?) there isn’t very much on record for either of them; anything recent, anyway. They’ve both gotten too good at what they do. However, eventually, when he’s given a mission to locate and capture a certain scientist known as ‘Colress’, he finds Knox. At this point, after everything he’s been through, Faust has largely turned off his emotions and has truly become his ‘Grey’ alias, but even so he does still feel a flicker of joy when he finally finds his youngest sibling. Knox of course, knows nothing of what their brother’s intentions were when he left, and so is understandably pissed beyond belief (especially since they meet again when interpol officers are storming Colress’ lab). Grey’s flat way of speaking doesn’t exactly help his case, as he seems utterly indifferent to their reunion. In truth, his monotonous front is one of his ways of preserving himself, and something he now can’t turn off. As you can probably tell by his reaction to having a literal dagger at his throat, he’s also quite indifferent to whether he lives or dies, which doesn’t help the ‘ice-man’ impression most get of him, either.
In an attempt to show good will though, he manages to get the interpol to strike up a deal with Colress. They agree to leave him alone and turn a blind eye to his unethical experiments (including if the results are murder/manslaughter [as long as it isn’t another Opelucid city incident scale wise]), in return for him doing the occasional unpaid work for them, and disclosing the blueprints of every device he invents to them. (Of course, Colress does manage to keep some of the blueprints hidden, but they don’t need to know about that). This way, Grey reasons, since they seem to be living with this scientist, Knox can be left in peace.
After the mission, Grey doesn’t just leave though, oh no. He’s finally found one of his siblings, and he’s desperate to reconnect with them somehow. Unfortunately, Grey doesn’t know how to show affection, so he just boarder-line stalks Knox and invades their privacy with the intent of keeping them safe. It irritates and creeps Knox out to no end.
Other notes:
- The reason they don’t speak with the same accent is because after Grey was taken in by the interpol he also started mingling more with ‘higher society’. Eventually, his original accent faded and was replaced by (I literally hate saying this but I can’t think of a better way) a more ‘proper’ intonation and dialect.
- Grey’s got a bit of a saviour complex, and hopes to get Knox a job with interpol. He isn’t stupid, he knows the interpol are corrupt, and despises how two faced they can be as well as their petty rules, but in his opinion it’s far, far better than the place he came from, and so wants the same improvement for his sibling. He doesn’t quite appreciate that while Knox doesn’t love being a mercenary or anything, they’ve now got a found family as a result and so doesn’t want anything to change.

Daryl Dixon and Last of Us
I don't want to be negative, but I can't help it. As a fan of both The Walking Dead and Last of Us (games and show) this lack of humility, respect and common sense baffles me.
Last of Us is about the connection of the two main characters, like I said in my previous post.
Tumblr media
I almost want to call Joel broken, and some of him is, but mainly he has been frozen. He has a couple of people in his life that he cares about, but even with them he has put up a thick, cold wall. He can't ever let himself care again, not like he did for his daughter. (Sound like someone we know?)
Then he meets Ellie.
Tumblr media
Ellie is a teenage girl, both a bit bubbly and edgy. She won't take anyone's shit, and she isn't a wallflower, satisfied to keep silent while grown ups make decisions for her. In the show Bella Ramsey takes it even a bit further, doing an amazing job. Pedro Pascal plays Joel as emo, and it's breathtaking (and heartbreaking). All these years Joel hadn't been able to let himself feel, and now he is drowning in his love for Ellie.
(This clip of Last of Us shows as much.)

The very height of AMC's stupidity is that if they really wanted to use LOU and it's success spirit as inspiration, they were already more than half way there, without stealing the LOU plot! TWD was always at its best when it was a show about people, and how they deal with horrible circumstances (both as individuals and as groups), how some of them welded into a family and how others... didn't. Like LOU, there are people resorting to cannibalism, different factions fighting for power and resources, and people trying to keep at least some of their humanity intact.
As for TWD, we have Carol and Daryl, both of whom have been through Hell, both before and after the apocalypse. Their connection has been strained at times (lots of angsty plot), but there is nothing they wouldn't do for each other (like Joel *cough*). Why didn't AMC use that? The depth of their feelings and their connection was already there, as was their capability for levity to ease the hard subject matter.
Truly, there are not enough words to express how disappointed I am at the mere stupidity of this whole thing. You didn't need to bring a group of nuns (!) and put Daryl in a bath (which in itself feels like it's taking this "whole new Daryl" approach a tad too literally; just saying) before taking The Chosen one in hand.
I truly don't know which would be worse; DD show copying LOU's ending too or trying to do it differently.
Will this (imposter) Daryl save the world, instead of conquering his own saviour complex?
Tumblr media
That's not a story I'm signing up for. Nor is this blatant plagiarism, AMC.

I gave in and watched the whole series. Watching it and reading about were very different experiences. It didn't feel like baiting to me. It felt like straight forward setup. Believe me I'm not panicking or trying to be negative. It's just what I saw. Hopefully there's time for that to change course.
Can you imagine if we'd got caryl bookend series scenes of them helping bath/wash each other with beautiful lighting and frank conversations about their scars and feeling at home. And the symbolism of being in water helping wash someone. Rejuvenation, new beginnings and all that stuff. Him pausing for a beat to watch her before she becomes aware of him. It's just ... I don't know what we'd do.
I'm sorry I just needed to vent. I suppose you could interpret him watching her as him being happy she's settled. His saviour complex is satisfied. He did his bit. But it's mixed up with so much other stuff I'm uncomfortable with.
And it wasn't just the last ep. A moment that really bugged me for some reason was when they went to her old apartment and he's looking through her stuff and finds photo booth pics of her and Quinn in a book and he awkwardly tells her what page she was on. She looks a the pics and says "I was young and stupid". He says "but you've upgraded now". There's this fucking annoying pause then he's says "to god I mean" and she's all right yea of course.
Also them taking about being broken before the end. Giving them similar pasts. The low level criminality. He said before that he would do whatever scheme Meryl had setup for the day. And I'd imagine Isabelle and Quinn lived similarly. Living day to day, scheme to scheme.
Like I said I'm sorry for venting. Obviously there's loads to look forward to. I'm still very positive but I just wish it wasn't mixed up with frustrating stuff aswell. 😕
I completely hear you. Intimate beats like that should be reserved for Caryl, not only because that's the relationship the (eventual) target audience is invested in, but because Daryl is a character who doesn't do intimacy very well. It takes a lot of trust, and Carol is the only one who's earned it. If it's any consolation, there's zero chance the show will make the nunmance canon, but I don't know how well Zabel will pay off Caryl's story or if he'll just ruin it before we even get to the payoff.
You don't have to be sorry. Like you said, there are plenty of reasons to be hopeful. Melissa is back. She has creative input. The teaser looked amazing. AMC's social media is hyping Carol/Caryl. At the same time, there are legitimate concerns that can't be overlooked, so you're well within your right to address them. I wish there was more consistency in the marketing and in the show.

Thess vs The Daunt, Some More
Was too made of ow and tired to do gaming yesterday (stupid fibro). Today is going to be different. Bullet points, go!
Right. Let's try to get to that little question mark.
(twenty-five minutes later) Oh. I think this is to do with that underwater cavern, not up. And I need a tool I don't have yet for that. Fuck. Ah well. Moving on to the next map question mark.
Aha! Signal tower! Up we go!
(fifteen minutes later) THIS IS BULLSHIIIIIIIIIIIIT. So much jumping. So much clinging. AAAAAAAAAA.
Right. Here we go. Please let this be an easier way down-- RAPPEL POINTS! WOO!
...Tiniest rappel jump in the middle of all these. I hate the tiny ones. No time for a decent WOOOOOOOHOO! Still, the other two were satisfying.
I should probably do more questing now-- oh, hey, green shiny! Gimme!
Right. Focus. Literally. There goes a Bristleback. I did want to go to that campfire, but... Bristleback. And I cannot shoot it. Fuck. On we go.
"Okay, fine; you kill them however you want!" Thanks for your permission, sir; just look at it as me saving your perimeter of very sparky tripwires. I HAVE A BOW AND I AM VERY GOOD WITH IT AND THESE ARE ONLY SCROUNGERS SO STEP OFF.
I now have a tripcaster. Yaaaaaaaaay more equipment I will probably never use! (Look, I like precision, okay?)
Right. Off to find Erend. Focus. Literally.
Oooooooooh Erend, you got yourself into a mess, didn't you? Right. Bristlebacks die.
"Acid arrows make chain reactions--" How about I just shoot them in their weak spots and make them dead? That work for you? Yes? No? If no, don't care; THIS IS HOW I DO.
Okay, I understand we have a saviour complex, Aloy, but ... yeah, Erent can't literally do the things you can but he could do things like, y'know, help you kill all the bullshit in your way? See, Avad is a no-go because he can't actually go with me anywhere, but Erend? Erend I want with me. Buuuuuuut apparently no. Boo.
Right. Explosions. But while Aloy has a mission, I personally have shit to do so let me just find that campfire, and I can explore those ruins when I come back--
Huh. Raccoon. I require bits from raccoons. Buuut it's in the middle of Scrounger territory. Behold me as I shoot down a couple of Scroungers just so I can pick up raccoon bits.
I JUST SHOT DOWN A PIGEON IN FLIGHT AND THEREFORE WIN AT EVERYTHING.
Right. CAMPFIRE. I-- Oh, fuck, Oseram lady in trouble. Die, Bristleback.
Now campfire? "I could use help rescuing my friend--" Oh for fuck's sake. And while I feel for Aloy being a bit iffy about being called Saviour ... c'mon. Titles spread farther and faster than names.
Right, I know, explosions, but CAMPFIRE. ERRAND. SHIT TO DO. Then I will go explore ruins and investigate explosions and ignore every bit of "Hey, look at how you could kill this thing in really flashy ways" in favour of "precision shots from hiding". Also spend that skill point. No one will be surprised to hear that I'm mostly through the Infiltration tree. I know what I like.
So now I take a break and head off to the corner shop. If nothing else, it's a beautiful day - sunny and warmish and a reminder that hey, April is coming up in just a few days. I'm good with this.

Mementos. Ryuji fucking hated Mementos.
His hatred didn’t ease up after Akechi. It almost made it worse, actually.
The memory of Akechi sacrificing himself to save the rest of them, the terror of not being able to save him. He should have tried harder. He should have used his Persona to break down that stupid wall, to save Akechi from fucking dying-
The bruises on his body served as a reminder of his failure. He had deserved every last of those hits. He had almost died saving the others right after they had lost someone to the exact same thing. No wonder the others had been angry.
Now here he was, trudging through reds and blacks and blues the same shade as his bruises, taking out his grief on unsuspecting Shadows.
Attack, dodge, summon lightning, dodge, attack. The cycle repeated endlessly, though the consistency helped distract him. The constant need to dodge and focus on landing his hits was a nice distraction from his own self-hatred.
As he continued on, he heard a voice. It sounded familiar, if not hazy- like someone he had heard in a dream once. He followed the sound, cautious and weary.
There stood Akechi, muttering the words to a song. It was one Ryuji recognized, he listened to it often. How did Akechi know that song?
Wait. Wait. Wait. Ryuji froze, realisation hitting him harder than Makoto’s fist.
“AKECHI!?”
Akechi whirled around, eyes wide. “Ryuji-!”
Ryuji rushed forward, pulling him into an embrace. It felt surreal, the sturdiness of his body, the softness of his clothes, the sound of his breathing, shallow and ragged in his chest. Miracle of miracles, Goro Akechi was alive.
“Ryuji...” Akechi whispered, trembling in his arms. Ryuji responded by hugging him tighter, sobbing quietly.
“‘M so sorry, ma-”
Akechi stepped back, holding his cheeks in his hands. “No. No, don’t apologise. You have no reason to apologise. You are not at fault here. I am. Don’t blame yourself, Ryuji. Never blame yourself. It’s my fault.”
If Ryuji felt like he’d been punched in the face before, now he felt like he’d been kicked in the gut.
“You saved us, and all I did was-”
“Save them again. You risked your life to save them. You are just as much a hero as I,” Akechi said. Ryuji could only nod.
Ryuji didn’t know how long they spent there, hugging and taking solace in each other.
All he knew was Akechi was alive, and he was safe. He supposed that was all that really mattered.
I NEEDED a little comfort after that last one!!!!
ryuji's saviour complex fucking him over because he bases his whole worth on saving people but he FAILED and he feels worthless.
akechi needed to comfort the poor guy. ryuji needed some reassurance that its not his responsibility to protect everyone. that he has more worth than just saving people. and his "failure" wasnt even his fault.

SAVIOUR COMPLEX (Mark Hoffman x F!Reader) (PT. 7)
(PT. 6)
Rated: M
TAGS: language/past abuse/Mark Hoffman being a c*p/reader's life is maybe becoming less normal/Mark is protective bc it's his job but he's also problematic/because he's a c*p/Detective Gibson is his own tw/kissy kissy
**NOTE: Hey guys. Thank you so much for interaction with this fic, and I’m seeing a lot of new followers. I love that!! But I really need to stress right now how I do not support/endorse C*stas M*ndylor as a person or his opinions. He’s racist and I enjoy and only enjoy Mark Hoffman’s character. If you are a C*stas Stan, I highly encourage you to maybe cease interacting with this fic.**
“To say that this looks bad is an understatement.”
Mark scoffs and paces the Chief’s office.
“Don’t be dramatic.”
“No, let’s go over everything that’s happened tonight. You breach protocol by taking your case out on a date, you bring her to an active crime scene where her boyfriend has just died in a Jigsaw trap, and you are in the FBI’s sights! How is that dramatic?”
“Ex.”
Chief is stunned, baffled and befuddled. “Excuse me?”
“Ex boyfriend.”
“Are you-“ Chief sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose in exasperation. “You’re pulling my leg, right? This is a joke. This has to be a joke because I know you're not this stupid.”
“Watch it.”
“No, fuck it. You’re off her case and you’re suspended until I can figure out what the fuck to do with you. Turn in your badge and gun.”
Mark stares him down. He doesn’t move.
“Do it, or we’re gonna have a scene.”
Mark grinds his teeth, his jaw ticks. He’s holding air that he refuses to sigh away as he slams his sidearm and his badge down on the Chief’s desk.
“Who’s my replacement? I assume whoever it is has her next door in interrogation, right?”
“Questioning.”
“Don’t fucking split hairs with me right now.”
Before the Chief has a chance to respond, the heavy metal doors to the interrogation hall open and close. Mark throws the office door open and sees you passing. He gives you a comforting hand but then leaves when he hears a snort from Gibson. He turns on him and Gibson either isn’t expecting it or doesn’t think Mark will actually put hands on him. On both fronts, he’s wrong, because Mark grabs him by his collar and holds him with shaking arms.
“What the fuck is your problem, Gibson!?”
Gibson pushes Mark’s arms from his chest and shoves him. Not hard enough to hurt, but hard enough to send the message.
“I’m doing my job, Hoffman. Don’t forget, you’re a suspect too, and in danger of ‘reassignment’. Right?”
Gibson huffs and adjusts his shirt. Mark points a finger at his chest.
“You better keep your nose outta things before something happens to it.”
“Is that a threat?”
Mark is about to let him know that yes, it is a threat, when he feels a hand on his arm. He whips around and there you are, staring up at him with empty, dark eyes that are pooling with tears. God, you look ragged, traumatized- you are.
“Mark, come on, please. Please, let’s just go home. Please.”
He softens at your plea. He’ll do anything for you right now, and that includes walking away from this fight. He gives Gibson a final mean look and guides you out of the station and takes you home.
Now, he’s staring out the window of your bedroom as you’re curled against him in sleep, one arm tucked under your head and the other draped across you. He realizes that he probably shouldn’t have even brought you here, but rather have taken you back to his place. You need familiarity, sure, but whoever had been stalking you could still be after you.
That was something else you didn’t know. When you and Mark had arrived on the scene and he saw Ted’s body, it was apparent that it wasn’t…fresh. Of course, he knew that Gibson had to have shown you the photos but there’s no way you were in a state to notice that detail. And it looked like more than a couple days. The death was old…older than the day someone showed up outside your window.
He pulls you closer. Not only is someone imitating Jigsaw- him, not only had that person killed Ted, but they were likely the one stalking you.
It isn’t far fetched to think there’s another Jigsaw copycat; after all, that’s how he got the gig. The difference is that John and Amanda are both dead, and neither of them can handle this so Mark can focus on you. Mark racks his brain to shake loose any possible suspects. Everyone with any hand near Jigsaw is dead except him…and Jill. Christ, what if this is all Jill? Jealous because he has you and she has no one?
But Jill doesn’t have the physical strength to manage this on her own, and Mark’s watched her long enough to know she lives a solitary life. So no, Jill may be possible, but highly unlikely.
It has to be someone you know, or someone who knows him and his feelings towards you. It would be too large a coincidence for it to be a random copycat.
Who? Who?
The good news is that if he's suspended, he has plenty of time to find out.
There’s a banging on the door the next morning. You immediately jump and press your back to the headboard. Mark stands, reaches for his gun and then curses when he remembers he turned it in the night before.
You look up at him in a panic and he raises a calming hand. He glances at the window- nobody there. Goes down the hall and grabs a knife from the kitchen.
A peek out the front window reveals Gibson at the door, tapping his foot, looking around, checking his watch. Mark curses and opens the door, subtly setting the knife on the kitchen counter.
Gibson stops, looks Mark up and down, then cracks a smile.
“Jesus. Wasted no time, I see.”
Mark scowls and his grip on the door tightens. “Careful, Gibson. There’s no cameras here.”
Gibson looks over Mark’s shoulder and into the apartment.
“She around?”
“Yes, she’s in bed, and very fucking traumatized from the shake-down you gave her. That make you feel big, Gibson? Harassing a woman who’s being stalked and just saw her ex-boyfriend murdered?”
“Just doing my job. You know all about that.”
Before Mark can get another word out, you come up behind him, now having donned some pants and a cardigan.
“Detective Gibson. What a…well, whatever it is. What do you need?”
Gibson smiles at you, self-satisfied.
“I’m taking over your case. And with the recent danger, we think it’s best we put you in a safe house.”
Your eyes widen and you push your way past Hoffman who puts a hand on your shoulder. You shrug him off.
“Fuck that! You and your precinct already upheaved my life with this protection bullshit, now you wanna take me away from my job, my apartment? And for what? Jigsaw very clearly has no problem with me!”
“Yeah. Wonder why that is.”
Mark watches as you turn red.
“Besides, not like you’re leaving much behind.”
Mark barely has time to grab you when you lunge for Gibson, who leans away with a chuckle.
“Easy. I can always still take you in by force.”
“Fuck off, no you can’t,” Mark bites. “She can deny if she wants to.”
“Yeah, but that don’t look too good either, does it? Got a reason to stay away from the police?”
“Aside from the fact they’re batting 1,000 when it comes to harassment?”
Gibson looks from you to Mark.
“You don’t seem to mind too much.”
“That’s it-”
Mark is out the door before you can stop him and he slugs Gibson in the jaw. The younger detective stumbles back into the yard and Mark looms over him.
“Get the fuck outta here. And unless you have a warrant, you can tell the chief to shove this whole thing up his ass.”
Gibson stands and spits some blood into the grass.
“Your ass is out, Hoffman. You hear me? You’re fucked!” Gibson shouts and returns to his cruiser, stepping into the driver’s seat and retrieving his walkie-talkie. You run out to get Mark.
“Mark, what the fuck?!”
Mark sighs, shakes out his hand, turns to you. “I’m sorry. I- I can’t stand that prick. He was asking for it.”
“Yeah, no kidding! He was egging you on and you gave him exactly what he wanted. You could lose your job!”
“Nah,” Mark says, shaking his head and heading back inside. You follow him.
“Yeah.”
“I’ll have a word with the Chief, pay some penance, do crossing duty or something for a few weeks. Shit like this happens all the time.”
Mark goes to your freezer and grabs a bag of peas to cradle against his knuckles. When he faces you again, you’re leaning against the counter, chewing on your lip, staring at the imitation marble.
“What?” he inquires.
“Nothing.”
“No, what are you thinking?”
He watches as you splay your hand against the countertop, moving your fingers back and forth. He moves to stand next to you, moves his head to be closer to yours. Nudges you.
“Come on. Let me in.”
You sigh. “I don’t know what’s happening anymore. I don’t think I’m in danger. Or maybe I am. I don’t really care. But…maybe it’s best if we took a break? Just until the dust settles?”
Mark’s heart plummets into his gut and his eyes search yours, his head unmoving.
“You want that?”
“No. No, I really don’t. But I’ll be fine, and you can’t lose your job.”
Because it’s all I have.
Well, that was before he had you.
“Let Gibson take over my case. Once it dies he’ll get bored, I bet. I’m willing to wait.”
You finally meet his eyes and your hand finds his on the counter.
“What if I’m not?” he mutters, his lips so close to yours.
“I mean, I never really pegged you for a patient man. But…”
It’s like you can’t help yourself. Your lips come up to meet his and his hand gently cups your jaw.
Another kiss. One deeper and warmer. Before there can be a third that leads to something more, you pull away and Mark sighs.
“Maybe it’ll die out fast, you know?”
Mark nods at the refrigerator.
“Maybe.”
“Hey,” you say, tilting his face towards you. “Look at me. It’ll be fine. Distance and fondness and all that.”
“I don’t think I can get any fonder, honestly.”
He watches in pain as your eyes flutter through that small confession and a smile pulls at your lips.
“Well, just hold on to it, then. And phones exist, you know?”
He dips down for a kiss on your cheek.
“So do midnight rendezvouses. And windows.”
“Come on,” you gently push against his chest. “Just think of how nice it’ll be when this all passes. Maybe my bed will see some action other than cuddling all night long, hm?”
Mark groans. “God, why would you say something like that when you’re trying to rush me out the door?”
“If I was rushing, you’d be gone already. I’m stalling, actually.”
Another kiss. Then one on the forehead.
“Alright. Go makeup with the asshole outside. Apologize to the Chief. Help kids cross the street or something. I’ll see you soon.”
Mark grinds his teeth but submits, laying the peas on the counter.
“Sorry for defrosting those.”
You smile reassuringly, and it does help him feel like things will be okay. “Maybe we'll eat them next time.”

and yeah i wanted to reblog the shigaraki meta that i'd been considering!!!! bc while i was rereading the manga for this route, i realised that everyone, from police to heroes to villains to students, just make Large Assumptions about shigaraki, and they just Say Things about him. and everyone around them just takes it as fact??? it's like. we the audience are being told things about shigaraki, but they don't match up at all with how we see him act. i am hoping that this is intentional on hori's part, esp. with how heavy-handed shig commentary has been by other characters in the last few chapters, to make the point of "midoriya is the only one who's ever Looked and shigaraki and Perceived." bc, like, AFO and the pro heroes objectify/dehumanise tomura but in different ways. i worry. but so much of what we're shown of shig just doesn't match up with what characters say about him!!! it's odd. i really like him, despite being Told That He Is an Object, specifically one of destruction.
goddddd reader in this route is messy and i have a lot of compassion for her. i think she should allow herself to get angry more often. but i think that gifted kid burnout and basically moving back into your parents' house and people judging your "bad" life decisions even though they can't Know what you're going through--it's a touchy subject, tinged with shame and confusion and insecurity of identity, and tomura, i think, is experiencing his own flavour of that, since he doesn't get to be the Greatest Evil VIllain version of himself that he had in his head for so long and now is Just Some Guy. i didn't want reader to have a saviour complex but i wanted her to Care So Hard, and i hope that came across, esp. since her caring so hard also works with her own insecurities.
also yessssssssss YESSSSSS the KEY the GOGGLES it was there in front of them the whole time!!!!! but they weren't looking for it!!!! bc when soulmate bonds are words and marks, who the fuck is gonna be looking for a soulmate bond in just some weird triviality????? lolololol i talk about wanting to handle tomura with care but gave him the silliest soulmate bond thing. i like how useless it is, because it's, like, tomura doesn't need to be useful rn, either.
godddddd i'm so glad you sent me an ask so i could talk about thissssssss. i'm SO fucking glad that you're noticing details like this and having fun with them!!!!! i am, too!!!!! i love tomura and you and i hope you are having a good 2024 so far!!!! xx.
