Ooo... I didnt like this part at all... Instead of making the choice she just runs off. Then because the plot demands it, Adam says nothing. Kinda whish she atleast avoided the question, maybe in some way that would require actual thinking? For a character like Vaggie, she could choose either way and it feel like it's still her. If she chose to protect Charlie's dream, she would still be perfectly loyal to her but in the act of so would reveal a secret that could harm their relationship(which does happen at the end but that's because the plot wanted it like that). If she chose to side with Adam, she'd be hurting Charlie emotionally, sure, but it would keep a secret that could make Charlie see Vaggie less than who she is to her already(atleast what Vaggie might think would happen). Imo it should've been her deciding to protect Charlie, since it would mean she's devoted to her at all times.

ANOTHER THING! IF SHE COULDN'T MAKE THE CHOICE, THAT IS SOMETHING INTERESTING TO GO INTO. Maybe it could go deeper into how Vaggie doesn't know who she is without Charlie. So when she has a choice to make, like here, she can't do it without feeling the need to ask Charlie. BUT NOOO, YA HAD TO GO WITH THIS!! Wow. That was a long ass rant. Wtf 😭

Maybe I'm a dumbass. Maybe they'll talk about that next episode, but still, atleast touch on it a bit to not seem rushed?

Everyone fears to be like Lucifer. If they don't do bad things they believe are for the greater good and make sacrifices that put them higher than those in hell, they could themselves be fallen. It's really interesting but I don't know if it's going to be fleshed out enough with the amount of episodes left. Which also worries me about everything else that still hasn't be concluded. There's gonna be loose strings I just know it. Hopefully though they rather do that then rush everything out y'know?

I want the next episode to be mostly focused on Vaggie and Charlie's relationship and the healing of what happened. Not for the entire episode of course, it would feel drawn out if it did, but atleast address the problem for the first like I would say 10 minutes? Then the rest would focus on one or two loose threads while also having Vaggie and Charlie acting upon moving on. That's just my idea but yeah-

I'm not sure how much I buy this version of events by Phee. It seems...too easy. But maybe it's because that would mean there is/are no other person/people involved (i.e. Non and/or Keng and/or White) and that would be disappointing. Nah, I'm holding out hope that this isn't the actual true events.

So Phee really did tell Jin everything...and then Jin admitted to posting the video...and they're ok with each other. They've found some 'comfort' in both being as bad as the other I guess.

am currently on brainrot despite being half-asleep

Krej's Bar/main hangout is called The Garden

Shawn Thornton owns a gym, which was their old hangout. The boys still go there, just mostly to train and to catch up with some of their old friends.

The Bruins' territory/home turf is Boston, spreading out around Massachusetts. They believe it is their responsibility to uphold their own brand of justice, keep the peace. Which is probably why Marchy was less torn up than expected about them upon realizing who the B's actually were.

The people of Boston love them. They keep them safe after all. Petty thievery, hate crimes, assault, are all against the code of the B's. Do anything that passes a certain limit, they will cut a smile into your face.

Monty is their contact in the police department. The police have a tentative agreement for whenever they catch wind of other gangs planning something in Boston and they don't want to get in the middle of it they get to tell the Bruins.

Matt Grzelcyk was Charlie McAvoy's senior in college/university. Matt always seemed like a kind soul so it puzzled Charlie as to why he willingly joined the B's

Marchy willingly chooses to help the B's commit tax evasion purely because "the rich can suck it and can stand to lose a few million anyway". Bergy found that hilarious and barked out a laugh so out-of-character everyone in the room stared at him for a solid 10 seconds. That's how Marchy got the unofficial approval of everyone, anyone who can make Bergy laugh like that is someone worth keeping.

Marchy was nicknamed Squirrel for many reasons. Including the way he can run circles around the law. Or the ability to run into trouble on the street and somehow get away from it. But the main one is because some drunk guy at The Garden tried to goad him into a fight by calling him a squirrel, and when Marchy didn't bite, attempted to throw a punch, but ended up tripping and falling over. The nickname stuck ever since.

The B's insisted on Marchy learning self-defense. So sometimes he goes to Thorty's gym to train. He learned mostly from Andrew Ference and the Merlot Line.

He's always bullied by the old B's, but they will throw hands at anyone who fucks with their lawyer-squirrel. It still stands even after they retire, it's just part of the code. They protect their own.

Nick Foligno just came to The Garden for a drink after moving to Boston, and managed to befriend Krej in the fastest, most genuine way. They just enjoy trading barbs and life experiences.

Chris Kelly, who was once a sniper on the B's, now an advisor, found out Fliggy was from an old Family (mafia) and told Krej. That didn't deter him, at all. Uncle Nick was nice to everyone after all.

One night when Chara and Krej were out on a walk they found a teenager Pasta passed out cold. After nursing him back to health Pasta just kept coming back. No one's stopping him. Certainly not Krej's mother hen instincts. He's part of the gang as a runner now.

Yea I love the 2011 Bruins a lot can't you tell?

favorite moment: literally every old fart moment he has. when he forgets names when he berated sinclair for not cleaning his plate when he goes uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh in his dialogue because he doesnt know where hes going with this

story idea: despite his deep frying and boiling during hells chicken i think the bus kinda Likes this guy. gregors a bit of a hot commodity. hes just a fella you can Jive with. a real Stand Up guy. now let him be loved, if obliviously through his own self consciousness. a friendly heathcliff rough slap on the back delays his depressive episode by 15 minutes

fav relationship: oh boy where to start!!!! rodigor. enough on that. meurgreg, not really romantic to me but i like the art of it that is. it revolves around a big fella carrying him under his arm so automatic slay. ive seen a little gregcliff action on the TL but its more of a 'work got me friends with people twice my age like whats uncle greg up to' ordeal to me. now lets get insane. gregsang is incredible to me because yi sang is the only mf on that bus EASIER than gregor. gregor got game? that hes aware of? while stuttering the whole journey? its kind of crazy. i dont actually have a reason why they would even like eachother yet but put rodya in there somewhere to toy with them if you want true crackshipping fun

fav headcanon: hes a little chunky

RODYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my favit

first impression: me furiously searching for her height on the wiki + nodding my head sagely deciding woman with sleepy eyes is peak character design (faust included). i trust her wholeheartedly even if she leads me hand in hand into a woodchipper

current impression: waiting for projmoon to drop more lore on her desperately because i know canto 2 wasnt everything. i feel a disconnect with the fanbase about her because i see rodya characterized sooooo differently than how i think of her. the gambling thing and her effortless confidence for example isnt really questioned like how it is with dons bravado. i see her gambling as an outlet for her complicated views on money. she feels as though being financially 'secure' as the lone survivor as a betrayal to all the deaths she caused. gambling not only aligns with her current im the hottest shit attitude but also is a way for her to not be responsible for money. the hoarding of wealth is what caused her community to starve, why would she want to do something that seems to harm others? shes very self destructive, and feigning as slots star is just one of the ways she forces herself to 'stay in the cold'. ummmmmmmmm anyway im really normal about rodya and think about her a normal amount also her love for decadant food really resonates with me as someone who was poor in childhood because the difference between eating to live and living to eat is Astronomical

favorite moment: shes started branching out and calling other people than greg pet names and it is so exciting. faust has now reached babe status!! good for her!!! also when she infantalizes sinclair its terrible for him but REALLY funny for me when he responds back and reminds her oh right this is a 22 year old man. also her random interjections that are socialist ideology are really funny because they always feel so fucking random and like projmoon is remembering why crime and punishment was written and going drop this bomb ass line itll go so hard guys

story idea: i want her to play poker against yi sang because hes weird and also his poker face is like. genuine and dear adoration for being able to play with his companions because deep in his soul is gardens and butterflies. she would be so freaked out not only because this guy agreed to playing poker but also because he is invasively (he didnt mean it) staring into her SOUL to find solutions

fav relationship: my thoughts are half the bus are in love with gregor and the other half with rodya with cases of overlap. rodya is so epic because shes seemingly got it together to the more deranged sinners but to anyone else its like oh my god this paper mache bitch the former being more faustish the latter being more ryoshuish. faustya is cute because faust initially wanted to absorb more Bad Bitch Strategems and then kinda got a crush and is hardcore malfunctioning also kurokumo ryodion got sumn GOING yall crazy love is love though

tl; dr: Staged 2 is a unique and excellent addition to Staged 1. The added meta textual layer of the other celebrities breaking down their relationship based on Staged 1 allows for a lot of “hiding behind my hands so embarrassed” moments, but also by pitting them against each other, it reveals their actual love for each other through the bickering. Season 1 on its own is a nice vignette of its time but season 2 with it adds a tension and intimacy that really takes both over the top

Kinda dreading watching Staged 3 since it seems like people overwhelmingly like it less than the other two because of the loss of the Zoom format and constant arguing, but I’m already in this far deep so I’ll stick the landing

So Zain's parents had two different religions -- his father was Muslim and his mother was Sikh. He was very close to both parents so was never comfortable "picking a side". In some circles he's known as Zain al-Shahir bin Zakariya, but in others he's known as Zain Singh. When he married he married a Sikh woman so he was more widely known as Singh, but still used al-Shahir bin Zakariya at times. He always felt like a bad Sikh because he couldn't really commit fully to it and felt torn between two worlds.

It got worse after his Embrace, he felt like just by existing he was an abomination, so he cuts his beard every night when he wakes up because he already exists as a vampire, so what's one more sin? (Sullivan refers to it as "spiritual self harm." He ignores him and does it anyway.)

But every now and then when his travels take him through a major city. When he's in a major city he tends to get back to his Sikh roots and keeps his beard and puts his turban back on.

He once ran into Sullivan in NYC like this. Sullivan didn't recognise him because of the beard so Zain basically switched to an Indian accent and fucked with him all night. "You do not recognise me?? your oldest friend?? how could you???" Sullivan was This Close to throwing him through a window with shadow tentacles.

"Who are you?"

"I am Mister Singh, you idiot! How can you not remember me???"

"I have no idea who you are!"

This happens several times before Zain ends up inviting him back to his temporary haven for whatever reason and just goes "hey do you want some blood or something?" in his normal voice and Sullivan almost yeets him out the fucking wnidow.

It's especially heelarious from somebody sniveling out "Plaiderdale's over, move on!" mere weeks ago and sends me hate about "not being over SH" all the time....

Umm....nooppppee.....and it was so terrible, why was she then constantly back with him for 4 years and still pines for him, 3 years later?

To specifics.....Cole was an entire geriatric 23 when they met, so the "she was a child" narrative also fails. And actually, PP hadn't "just broken up with her first BF"----A) that was a dude she'd cheated on, left and right all along (something she's admitted to) and she was fucking around left and right again when they filmed the pilot. And trying to twist the narrative of her as a pure girl will never change reality.

Ummm.....not the reason people were invested (actually, at the time, all of you insisted nothing happened between them for years/flirty friends thing because you couldn't accept your kween as less than pure).....AND not why Cole wanted to keep shit moar private...they, again, were playing an immediately super popular couple and he'd just had an absolutely horrible experience from a previous loony ex.

If I'm real here? Cole knew PP was nutso too and didn't want the fallout he knew would come....turns out, again, he was right.

So now it's that Cole (and PP) chose to set the parameters of the relationship and what they did and didn't share on SM? How DARE they!!! Actually, given how PP still breadcrumbs everything to this day, why no hate for HER?

Ummm.....Cole was always supportive of PP, I don't recall that, at all....plus, again....that was years later. AND who knows what else had happened (we know they'd broken up multiple times, in fact)? At that point shit was already soooperrr rocky, she'd cheated on him/ditched his family trip to do so/was now like 23, herself/etc....if you're gonna pick a narrative, please stick with it.

lols, who realizes Anordil has no idea that the other two have been under the impression that the THREE of them were courting first? Like, THEY'VE EXCHANGED GIFTS probably?

Oh wait, waitwaitwait, Anordil left with her mother when she was still a child, right? And like, she was barely an adult when her mother left, and post apocalyptic Beleriand was a nightmare so some talks might not have been had amid survival. And her Ada is, well, kind of nuts for a very long time, so not someone Anordil probably considers asking about this stuff.

Is- is she perhaps missing some key points of Elven social culture? Like, she has memories of Tolkien, and presumably at least skimmed the deeper lore like LACE? So she has vague memories of Elven society being one way, when in reality Tolkien got the broad strokes right but also surely made up bits to fit his own cultural upbringing.

Intellectually she knows not everything matches up, given she's helping two male elves get together and has possibly had lovers of her own here and there (MOAR angst bc her past lovers FORGOT her bc she's the 52 Hertz elf) and knows the 'sex is marriage to elves' thing is phooey, but she has no idea the emotional INTENT behind some of whats been going on between the three of them is in any way COURTING.

Erestor: Is this on us? Were we not clear? I gave her that lovely blank book. She gave me those three inkstones from the east and you that lovely tooled utensil pouch. You gave her BOOTS!

Glorfindel: I thought the new boots were overkill even. Naneth would have twisted my ear for being so forward if I'd done that in Valinor! (Note: Boots would ABSOLUTELY be like a stage three courting gift normally, stage two at the earliest. Shoes of any kind are hard to make, require precise fitting, and a skilled craftsperson. Glorfindel, if he didn't make them himself, would have dropped a LOT of coin on them. But Anordil has traveled so much, so hers were probably worn, and he'd seen her trying to fix the unmendable wear in them so-)

So like, maybe Elrond and Celebrian watches this and do a little math, and it slowly dawns on them that Anordil is MISSING CONTEXT. Oh, dear, they're going to have to have a TALK with her when she gets back, aren't they. Elrond is going to have to explain noldor social moors to his older sister. (Celebrian: It will be lovely practice for the twins one day? XD)

no that's exactly it! Anordil ~~logically~~ knows that she is missing bits of culture that she /should/ know considering who her parents are and what she is it's just-

her mother never really had time to teach her about things like 'courting 101' amidst the whole 'we are on the precipice of morgoth killing us all' and 'oh. the land is literally sinking beneath our feet as armies fight it out. okay' thing and anordil never gave it too much thought so she just sorta shrugged and went on with life!

and all of her other brief encounters with what could be called lovers were over in less than two years (most of them were with Men, but there was that one very cute dwarf lady that Anordil had a lot of fun with. there were a few elves too, but she always left or broke things off before they got too serious)

Anordil: *Comes back a year later* i have gifts!!! :D this is for the twins and this is for arwen and this is for elrond and this is for celebrian. and OH i got a pretty quill from a scribe for erestor and glorfindel has a new hair clip for reasons-

Elrond: you do know the gifts they gave you were courting gifts right?

Anordil: *drops erestors quill back on the table where she was showing off her haul to Elrond*...thats a thing?

Well, with LMR, it's mostly Din and LB being on opposite sides of the wastes, Din going toe to toe with Bo and LB dealing with Cobb and Uli-ah. Obviously busytimes is in my way on that, but I might as well let season 3 get into me and stir my heart up to get me going on that one.

With Branded...I think I can comfortably say I'm on hiatus on that one. I finally know where that one's going next, but I really need greasy writing wheels to get at that one. Meaning I need to be on a roll so it goes easier. That one's a heavy machine for me and once I stop it's hard to get going again. But those two are also coming up on a brief separation...

I always appreciate people who are willing to criticize LMK. Even if I don't agree with all your points. There's a vocal section of the fandom that do nothing but praise it and get upset when you find fault with it or any of their beloved characters. I like the show too but there are plenty of flaws and room for improvement. But many don't want to have that discussion. So it's just nice to see some watchers not mindlessly soak up everything the writers give us. Because despite what people say ad nauseum, the show isn't perfect.

Monkie Kid spoilers below:

Huh well anon firstly while I am aware that it can be hard to convey sincerity on the internet, genuinely thanks for messaging me with the approach that you can appreciate me complaining about a lego cartoon even while you don't agree with everything I'm saying. Too often I've seen even what started out as little disagreements in fandom circles explode into gigantic messes because of this all or nothing attitude that's engulfing more and more of fandom. I feel like that more than anything is the reason why I've adopted an perspective of "don't like don't read goes both ways" when it comes to fandom stuff; people should be free to praise or criticize a piece of media as much as they please as long as they're not harassing people over it, and one can follow, ignore, or block as one sees fit.

But hmmmm I know every fandom has its absolute admirers, but in terms of JTTW understandings in the west I feel like that's a liiiiiiitle bit worrisome here because of the way Monkie Kid--at least to me (haha yea subjective opinions ahoy)--seems to rapidly be falling victim to the storytelling detriments of "moar epic!," fandom character favoratism, and demand for angst. I mean, this show started out with the premise that it was going to be a fun adventure aimed at children where they'd get to by-proxy do cool things with one of the most beloved characters from Chinese mythology. But seasons 2, 3, and now 4 have been following this pattern of "Sun Wukong is largely absent--something really bad happens partially because of the big villain but also because the Monkey King made a massive miscalcuation that made everything 1000 times worse--Qi Xiaotian gets trauma upon trauma as a result--we all get together to blow something up at the end which magically fixes everything. FOR NOW."

So yea, in accordance with what seems to be general fandom tastes we get an increasingly traumatized Qi Xiaotian. We get a Six-Eared Macaque (the obvious fandom meow-meow) who now apparently used to be the main member of Sun Wukong's Best Friends Forever club and who obviously never did anything wrong evaaaaaar (what with the show forgetting about all the stuff he put Qi Xiaotian through & everything in the plot so far indicating the shadow monkey believed wholeheartedly in the Monkey King right before Sun Wukong the evil betraying bastard bonked him to death), and we get stakes that are literally about the fate of the entire world or even all of reality every season. But the cost of all of that was a plot structure that is increasingly failing to address many of its threads (hey remember how the Demon Bull family were the ones who released Lady Bone Demon? R we ever going to address that?), less and less and less genuine interactions between Sun Wukong and Qi Xiaotian, and, well, an increasing tendency in both fanon and canon to depict Sun Wukong as a careless screw-up at best and a selfish asshole at worst, or as a traumatized & miserable mess who needs to spend at least 100 years in therapy before he could even think about being anyone's mentor.

I mean hell, based on what I understand from the last twitter blow-up about all of this the response to the possibility that Sun Wukong was Qi Xiaotian's bio dad--you know, something that in a different context could have been a source of joy and excitement if it was about a father and son who had been torn apart through outside circumstances and were finally reunited--was first even MORE anger at the Monkey King for being a deadbeat dad on top of all his other screw-ups, and then relief when a lego show writer felt compelled to make it clear Sun Wukong was not the father. Because at this point if he was indeed Qi Xiaotian's bio dad, especially if Sun Wukong knew it the whole time, the implications would be really, really bad. Add all of that to every other character in Monkie Kid yelling at Sun Wukong for being a dumb idiot and/or terrible person, the absolute silence (except for some very brief flashbacks) on Sun Wukong's thoughts about any of this, and the "chaos monkey uwu" framework that Sun Wukong and his journey is already commonly understood through in the west (plus this weird reluctance and even refusal to consider what happened in the og classic that I've seen in some circles), and it feels like a lot of the Monkey King & co.'s nuance, complexity, and more fascinating aspects are being erased from common western perceptions of Journey to the West. And YEA obviously a silly lego show isn't going to get into the theological & moral complexities of a ~1,400 page novel, but given that Monkie Kid seems to have become one of THE primary ways that a western audience is being introduced to this story, I do wish that there was more of an effort to at least acknowledge what happened in the og classic.

IDK, in terms of Monkie Kid maybe future episodes will finally give us some answers for what happened to the og pilgrims that will be satisfying. Maybe they'll finally provide a decent aswer for why the Monkey King betrayed his sworn brotherhood and became a isolated failure who's hated by basically everyone who actually knows him. But as it currently stands I just think that if you've got a plot where the shifu and tudi pair now barely interact & a fan base where a significant portion is THAT quick to think the absolute worst of the Monkey King even though this is literally a silly lego show about having adventures with the Great Sage, then you really need to pause and think about why we're at this point :I

I love what Ashley is doing with Fearne. It’s not quite an amnesia thing, but it’s clearly SOMETHING affecting her memory. She never really dived into the lost time aspect with Yasha in too much depth (for as much as it influenced her actions), so I’m excited to see where she goes with this!

Interestingly, I’m not sure if that was Erika or Dusk stirring shit with asking Laudna asking on the date.

Wonderful scene with Imogen and Laudna. Confirmed that the relationship is not currently romantic. (look, I really don’t mind if it becomes romantic in the future, but I’m just so annoyed with people insisting that it’s absolutely 100% romantic now. Ship away! But right now? Your ship is not (romantically) canon.)

SAM. SAM. Fucking thank you!!!! I know that Sam will always end up bringing a ton of depth into his PCs, but it’s sometimes a struggling dealing with the surface level jokes until we get that depth. Now we’re really starting to see shit go down with FCG, and he just feels more like a fleshed out PC (no pun intended). (though I admit, I doubt they’d be acting this way if Sam didn’t know that Imogen and Laudna were already resolved XD)

Oh INNNNNTERESTING. Dusk was pretty clearly eavesdropping, but then Liam fucked everything up by not know and instead engaging in RP, so how does this now work in game? Erika seemed to have been confirmed to hear the entire convo, but now because of this, now Dusk has missed the entire convo? Does Matt rule that they hear part of it? I’d love to know how this bit works out mechanically.

Speaking of shipping, well boo there goes my Fearne/Orym ship and my Imogen/Orym ship. Definitely was more heavy towards Fearne/Orym - one because I love the dynamics, and two because I DESPERATELY want more Liam/Ashley RP. Give me moar, pls!!!!! (hmmm, I think Orym is shipless for me now, as I’m not a Dorym shipper, and I’m feeling Ashton more with Fearne or Laudna. Alright Matt, pull up an NPC for this boy to romance! [I kid, I kid. I have a strong feeling that Liam’s going to avoid romance this campaign considering how heavily it ended up impacting the past two, and he even went into C2 with the intention of not doing it] )

Can I just briefly mention how adorable Laura and Travis have been this campaign? Vex and Grog had a little bit of the bickering, but I feel like Laura and Travis are having a BLAST leaning into it with Imogen and Chetney. Just, you can tell their delighted every time they do it.

I am really really enjoying Ashton when he/Taliesin is not trying to be secretive as fuck. Seriously, Ashton is so much more enjoyable when they’re in action, sharing information, having conversations. I just get annoyed when they deflect shit that doesn’t need to be deflected. (coming back, the Clasp! Confirmed!)

OTOHAN THULL. Holy fuck, Matt is just going SO FUCKING HARD into plot this campaign. It’s why it’s so weird that it does feel a bit slower paced, considering the plot shit is LIKE NON FREAKING STOP.

Once again, I love that Ashley is going full form this campaign. SHE DESERVES IT. I also love that everyone’s giving her shit for it, as if they all haven’t done it in one form or another in previous campaigns (or even in the current campaign, TRAVIS).

Not much to say during second half as it’s a lot of set up, but it’s fun set up to watch, and it doesn’t feel like it’s dragging. Looking forwards to the race! And poor Travis, I feel like he and I were on the exact same page. Still into it, but adhd means that full focus wasn’t there. I spent probably the last 40 minutes watching while also playing on my phone. Still enjoying! But couldn’t give it my full attention. And if I’m right and he was experiencing that? oh boy, it’s so much harder in person.

Actually, Dean's ninety-nine percent sure that Cas probably wants to fuck him, and while he has no clue how he feels about that, he's pretty goddamn sure that means Cas doesn't get to act like this and make it authentic. It feels strangely real, though, as if Cas wants nothing more than to get as far away from him as possible. This is a blatant contradiction. Even someone as weird as Cas doesn't want to get away from the person they have the desire to fuck five ways to Sunday, that they're in love with. That's not how these things work, so Dean isn't buying it.

La Brea thoughts, 2x01-05

Twenty months after I binged season 1 -- so long ago that I had to watch the entire "previously on" recap just to remember half of what happened, because my general impression of this show is that visually it's great and the ideas are cool, but its cast is lackluster and its dialogue often cringe, so it doesn't stay with me -- after five episodes in a week I have had basically four pressing thoughts:

(you get zero context for this because I don't think I have written about this show before even to myself, let alone Tumblr. oops.)

1. I keep forgetting the 1988 story exists so every time we switch over, I feel like I've been smacked in the face by how beautiful and vibrant Riley is (with really great hair). Veronica St. Clair is one of the few true standouts in this cast.

2. Speaking of, Scowling Head of the Mine/Guard Dude is the first character EVER to make me sit straight up and go "hell-o" on sight. Extremely excellent Dark and Brooding face, and also great hair.

3. With the simple addition of slightly growing out his already good hair, I have gone from being meh about Gavin (which always frustrated me because objectively? good looking man. i just felt no screen presence), to being full steam ahead OTP: MARRIED PARENTS; I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL; EVE FORGIVE HIM AND STOP BREAKING IZZY'S HEART ABOUT HER BROKEN HOME OR SO HELP ME... Just full swoon up in this joint now. Man loves his wife, has gone to extreme lengths to reunite, is willing to forgive a whole lot without judgment if she'll do the same; end of story!

3.5. This is a carry-over from me hating Levi's face since it first appeared as THE WORST DUDE in Off the Map. In 2011. This man still has not earned out his badwill from that character, even as the most upstanding military hero character one could imagine. No hope for him!

4. BUT. Here is the thing -- I actually think this is the most interesting love triangle/adultery story I have ever seen on television, because I get it. I understand how it is actually a difficult choice for Eve, because for all my shipping I don't actually know who is the better choice for her right now. I understand how and why the cheating happened and I don't even judge it, which I have literally never felt in the history of ever, ESPECIALLY when a cheater has kids. I understand how you could love both of these men at the same time, and why both of them have valid claims to her heart.

All of this is beautifully complicated by Gavin and Levi being close friends, and my FAVORITE part of it all is Izzy standing in for me and being my sounding board and saying everything I would say and feel in this situation regardless of my age.

I am going to need it to resolve with Levi dying, because this is fully a "I am not sorry you lost them but I'm sorry you're hurt" type of comfort situation in the making, but I think I could actually handle up to an entire season of UST and/or Eve officially choosing wrong for a while, if i could retain some hope.

I will abso-LUTELY riot in an Eve/Levi endgame situation, though. You know how I am about marriage.

Update, BONUS/LEFTOVER THOUGHTS:

Lucas's interactions with Veronica lately: *Dean Pelton voice* what is this? what is this creepy business?

(no seriously why does this feel like UST even though she definitely looks like a teenage child and he is definitely a grown-ass adult. i have never been so viscerally reviled by age difference in my life)

Para has been one of my favorites almost since her introduction and that love has only gotten stronger

Still want the pothead dope to bite it

Less Sam is always better too

MOAR CGI CREATURES. I loved the rhinos, in particular, so g.d. much.

One more thought about the Harrises: despite Gavin and Izzy having spent a whole season sequestered together already, this is really the first time I have gone feral about the father/daughter bond -- I assume this is related to the former becoming Gavin With The Good Hair -- so when the love triangle breaks my heart too much, at least I have this. Honestly, it's really nice seeing her back with her mom too, and any scenes that involve the parents working together to protect/comfort her? Special favorites.

(the son they're all risking life and limb to reunite with? still relegated to Season 1 Gavin status; change my mind)

💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?

it makes him soo upset and scared to be sick. he got very sick when he was young, with the same thing that killed his father, and it's a fear he's never really gotten over. so he gets teary if he's left alone for too long, and is generally an anxious mess while he's sick. he is also pretty shy about how Dramatic it makes him, which is funny for him, so he's pretty selective about who he asks for care from when he's sick when he's the one doing the caring though, he's Incredibly attentive. he might not always know how to deal with things, but he's great at asking for help from people who do and following their instructions lol

🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen?

TURRÓN his favorite comfort food is turrón. its usually a treat for christmas time but if you want to get into his good graces, getting or making him some any time of year is a sure bet. also i think he's quite good in the kitchen :3 learned most of his momma's recipes by heart

🍁 Where does your OC go when they need to have some time to themself? Would they ever have their own “comfort corner” filled with all the things they like? Do they have a favourite spot outside that feels like its theirs and theirs alone?

for the most part, izzy doesn't really enjoy being alone. but when he does get overwhelmed, i think it would be outside in nature. which is kind of cheating, in a way, because then hes not alone- it's him and all the bugs and plants and animals and rocks and water and wind and everything else. when he was a kid, he had a favorite tree in the forest around his family's farm that he would run to and hide in the roots of when he was overwhelmed. his siblings would come looking for him whenever the next meal was, and usually find him asleep, cradled by soft moss

💦 If you as the writer could erase one traumatic event from this OC’s life what would it be and why?

none because i want to squeeze him like a chew toy until he turns evil my gut instinct was to say meeting tommy, even though that technically wasn't a traumatic event. however that Would have kept him from being a part of [REDACTED], which is one of the few other traumatic things he's been through so.....
