Okay but Gerard being turned as a child kind of makes him more understandable as a character. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t me saying that it’s not his fault how he acted or anything like that, but when you think about all the things he’s bad at it tracks. He can’t fight but was raised as a prince and would have been trained, he needs a little book to tell him what to do, because he was probably like 9 when he got cursed and not only enough to squire. He’s obsessed with being handsome again, and yes , part of that is because he’s vain but part of it is because for his whole life he has been stuck in the wrong body and it’s slowly happening again. He only cares about balls and banquets because his parents wouldn’t have talked about war and death and responsibility to a kid under 10. That’s a child who was stuck as a frog for years and then told to rule
