This one is a treat! I usually miss cute moments but instead I got my two favorite large children playing on the playground passing the puck. It’s kinda jerky cause I was following the puck.
I love how Kunikida and Dazai are similar in the way that, yeah they both have moral compasses, but good luck figuring out what the hell they actually are
Greg Davies says "we're not great-looking guys with our own faces" as if he, Gregory Daniel Davies, is not the old man you're abnormal about and need to fuck.
random note about king on that animation, i got really lucky with how simple his animation was and how clean my sketches were to begin with that i was able to do very minimal cleanup on what i had sketched (and add back. his horn. it's supposed to take place just after echoes of the past, Oops) and call it done that way instead of having to redraw the entire thing like i had to on his dad
first sketch > line cleanup > nearly final animation (i'd added slight eye movements last-second but otherwise that's the final)
I really really appreciate seeing people explicitly talk about Kabru’s PTSD & survivor’s guilt and name them as such it’s really nice… not that people necessarily need to use specific terms to discuss his character well but it’s genuinely nice to see it recognized that he isn’t just a Funny Hater Guy or an Overbearing Asshole & also that his fucking canonical trauma is absolutely foundational to his motives and character
GUYS GUYS GUYS WE DID IT. Normally I would put here something about how Spies are Forever has invaded my life like the Romans did to every country they could find, but instead WE DID IT. I DREW EVERY SPIES ARE FOREVER CHARACTER DAILY UNTIL I DREW THEM ALL. I ACTUALLY DID IT
I started this series as a joke on 2/19 just to see if I could. Well today is 4/13 and guess what I DREW THEM ALL💪💪💪
Today's character, and the final character, is our dear friend Oleg Day 55/55!!!!!
Excerpts from a lovely article in The Athletic by The New York Times: “Ferrari’s prestige lured Lewis Hamilton – and cost Carlos Sainz his seat”
Part 2/2: “The Next Chapter”
In F1, consistency is critical. Sainz brings that to the table; a zero-point weekend is rare. The two-time grand prix winner is more than capable of racing for a top team and is one of the most complete drivers. He shows flashes of wise moves like what fans saw in Singapore. Remember the dummy move in Australia that truly showed his nickname, ‘Smooth Operator?’ And he’s calm under pressure, like when he secured pole position at Monza.
With what’s expected to be a hot drivers market looming for 2025, options are open but are they appealing, particularly given Sainz’s caliber?
A slew of teams are believed to have slots opening, like Sauber (which will become Audi in 2026), Alpine (who he drove for when it was known as Renault), Red Bull (though Daniel Ricciardo is in the picture) and Williams, to name a few. Mercedes could engage in a seat swap — Andrea Kimi Antonelli is rising through the junior ranks, but it would be a big ask to slide an 18-year-old into Hamilton’s spot.
Yes, there are more questions than answers on what’s next for Sainz, but he will be a prime player on the market given his track record. He thrives off of stability, so he’ll likely seek a multi-year contract. This never was a matter of a lack of talent.
I could totally do surgery on myself and even give myself anesthesia and then stitch myself up i could totally do that. I think I can figure out how to put it back
When it becomes clear that Pryce is threatening to walk Minkowski out of an airlock in Ep57 The Devil's Plaything, Eiffel says No for three lines in a row. The first of these lines is a low Oh no of horrified realisation. The third is a defiant shout against the idea that he'd surrender. But nowadays it's the second of these lines that gets me the most: a No that's soft, understated, almost breathed, not addressed to Minkowski or Pryce, just a word which escapes him as the full reality of what might happen sinks in. It's quiet enough that it'd be easy to miss if you were listening in a loud place. It's not an initial sound of realisation. It's not an attempt at defiance. It's not Eiffel trying to plead with Pryce or snap Minkowski out of Pryce's control. He'll do those things later: yelling at both Pryce and Minkowski, banging against the airlock door, crying out in desperation. But before that, he breathes the word No, and he's not trying to communicate anything to anyone. He's just whispering No, expressing beneath his breath - perhaps unconsciously - that this cannot happen. Minkowski cannot die.
If I had a nickel for every time Atsushi had to fight a legendary terrorist on/near standard island under the effects of time manipulation while Akutagawa showed up, tried to kill him, helped him, and then died, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that Asagiri made me go thru that twice
fact: doc has a saxophone in his garage in both 1955 and 1985, with seemingly no ties to his scientific pursuits. hypothesis: theres some sentimental reason, maybe he played (plays?) it as a hobby since and/or prior to 1955...? conclusion: they def had at least one jam session
