So, the upcoming chapter (update 230) gives me some thoughts

One change from the webcomic is obvious: the Tank Toppers are doing their best but are utterly outmatched by the Forest King.

Yes, that's Tank Top Girl in the lower right corner. I'm glad Reddit hasn't twigged or the sub would be swarmed with tentacle porn jokes.

We're anticipating that it's Genos who will come save them, but it won't make sense if the Forest King is still a demon-level threat like it was in the webcomic.

Genos is far too strong for that in the manga. This isn't recent; in fact, demon-level monsters have been a non-issue for Genos since chapter 64, when even the most defensive, sneakiest ones couldn't win against him, even when he was making mistakes.

Last we met him, demon-level threats were the trash he'd kill with a single kick.

ON WE GO! ONE has many evil challenges for Genos yet! We have well-organised, incredibly evil outfits (plural) that pose an existential threat to society. The monster irruption is getting worse, there are absurdly powerful monsters in existence (much worse than in the wc). And there's a god on the warpath. Genos has experienced this first-hand, much more so than most people.

And that's before we start on the destabilising effect that a new land popping back up is going to have. Also, how sure are we that the monster-weapon development project Drive Knight has been collecting specimens for is actually going to be used for anything good?

Not wasting time scrapping with regular monsters is good. Let's move this story forward!

However, I can think of two possible scenarios in which the Forest King could be a demon-level threat. Neither scenario is good.

Scenario 1: Dr Kuseno is having financial difficulties

Being a combat cyborg is expensive, and goodness knows that the last few weeks have meant that Genos has run through upgrades and weapons like cheap clothing. I don't care how rich Kuseno is, Genos's war body must have taken a significant bite out of his wealth. Even a billionaire would weep.

It might be possible that what Genos is coming back with is not what he wants but what the doctor can afford to give him, and it's a hell of a lot less than he'd be happy with.

If Genos is lucky, it's a cashflow problem in that he just has to take it easy on the demands until the doctor can rebuild his war chest. If Genos is unlucky, it's a running-out-of-cash problem and there's nothing for it but to make do with less, permanently.

Scenario 2 (less likely): Genos has lingering health problems that have forced him to downgrade

Even though the worst thing that happened to him in the last arc has been undone, Genos took a hell of a battering. Only some of that battering came from the monsters: the rest came from his very body. He's lucky that Fubuki can heal bodies as well as she can cool machinery off. Without that healing, he might well have perished before Cosmic Garou hove on scene.

It's not unreasonable for Dr Kuseno to decide that Genos's state of health doesn't allow him to safely wear a souped-up body, never mind a more powerful iteration of the same. He has no interest in supporting a dead hero.

Genos wouldn't take either scenario well but I think scenario 2 would be particularly devastating. His questions for Saitama would be pretty angsty -- how is he supposed to get stronger under such circumstances? Heck, how is he even going to survive with the kinds of threats now rearing their ugly heads?

Personally, I'm hoping that the 31st brings up a progressive story where demon-level monsters are no issue and we can move on with what's going on in this world, but I can see the mileage ONE could get out of regression. Either tack would take the manga story further away from the webcomic which works for me. :D Gimme two cakes, any day.

Of course, another hero altogether could save the Tank Toppers. And that would be another change from the webcomic, one that'd leave us to wonder about Genos a bit longer.

Ink still wouldn’t show up.

The multiverse was entirely balanced now, and Ink hadn’t shown his face once. Even Dream had come around asking, claiming that the Doodle Sphere had been locked off.

It was worrying.

Nightmare had been helping him remember who he had been. What his AU had been like, what he had been like, the story. He was slowly remembering it all over again, although the fact that he forgot still haunted him.

It also haunted him that Ink had done nothing.

Nothing at all.

So Error was going to do the only thing he could think of.

He was going to break into the Doodle Sphere.

When Ink heard the knocking on the door, he didn’t bother to get up from his bed.

When it persisted, Ink shoved his skull into his pillow and tried to figure out who it was. He thought he had locked out the Doodle Sphere.

When it broke down with a crash, Ink shot out of bed and looked over at his bedroom door.

What?!

Groaning, he forced himself out of bed. He didn’t bother trying to clean himself up or anything of the likes. He knew he was an absolute mess. He opened the door to his room and looked out to see who it was who decided to break in.

Error stared back at him.

Immediately, Ink’s soul throbbed. It hurt like something stabbed him in the chest, and he leaned against his doorframe from the force of it.

“Error?” He asked, blinking away the dizziness that followed, caused by the pain and the lack of care for himself. His voice had broken as he said that, so he cleared his throat to try and speak normally. “What… what are you doing here?”

“What happened to you?” Error asked in turn, a baffled expression on his face. “Ink, this is nothing like you. You look horrible.”

Ink felt horrible.

(Breaking Error’s ribs one by one, sadistically smiling at his cries of pain, unaware that this was his friend, the one who had understood him, the one who-)

Ink pressed his hand against his teeth, swallowing back the bile building up in his throat.

“I’m fine.” He croaked after, looking away from Error. He didn’t deserve to look the other in the eye- much less at all.

“Well that’s bullship.” Error scoffed. Ink found strings wrapping around him- picking him up and bringing him close. “You locked the Doodle Sphere up, you haven’t stopped me from doing my job, and you look like you got beat to a pulp. You are not ‘fine’.”

“You can kill me if you want.”

Ink had no idea where that came from. But he found the words true.

“What?!”

“I don’t mind.” Ink continued quietly, still avoiding looking at Error. “I deserve it, too. It’s what you want, right? After what I’ve done to you? You can go ahead and do it. I don’t mind.”

A dial-up tone sound was the only thing that got Ink to look up. He blinked at the sight of Error crashing, his reboot sign appearing above his skull.

Ink found he didn’t quite care for it the way he would have.

Not when he deserved the worst of everything.

Obligatory Valentine's Day GenoSai thingy!!

On Valentine's Day, it was hectic as all hell. Really. Like, "one-shot potential" kinds of hectic. Genos was on his own for a majority of the day because he not only got called in by the HA (he threw a verbal fit over the phone before eventually heading out), but also had half of his specially-made treats for Saitama destroyed on the way back home (he had them custom made a few days in advanced and picked them up after the fight) after a surprise monster showed up and trashed his shit. Saitama, also on his own, was in a rush to get Genos something apart from this very special notebook he spent months in advance learning how to make because he last-minute thought it "wasn't enough". He couldn't decide what would be good enough until hours later, because he discovered something... interesting. Something that would require him to hide his head underneath his hoodie to avoid the humiliation of being recognized.

Fast forward to when Saitama gets home. Luckily, Genos hadn't arrived yet, so he quickly got to work setting up the living room for dinner. The kotatsu is decorated with candles and set for dinner, the apartment smells like cinnamon and baked apples (one of Genos' favorite scents, he'd come to find out), there's some premium meat being cooked to perfection in the slow cooker, along with some veggies, and rice in the rice cooker, too. The apartment is spotless, a small box of chocolates are set on the very corner of the kotatsu while his gift notebook in a pretty messily-wrapped box underneath. Blinds are shut, too, for an optimal romantic atmosphere.

Overall: very intimate and romantic. Saitama's hopeless romantic soul preens at what he managed to accomplish on such short notice, and he hope Genos likes it.

For about a half hour, he sits, waiting for his boyfriend to come home. He won't lie, his heart is racing like mad. He's so nervous—almost to an embarrassing degree.

He's never had a Valentine before. Or a boyfriend before, prior to just a couple of months ago (their 1-Year Anniversary of them meeting, Genos asked to be his boyfriend). Contrary to popular belief, he really did have a pretty unrealistic view of romance and how to handle it. Shaped from romance mangas and novels and movies since the age of 8, he had cliché expectations. Had he dated anyone other than Genos, an equally emotional, intimate, and romantic guy, it would've been a little problematic.

But, it's Genos he's with. So, although it's embarrassing to admit, he hopes it'll play just like the movies, and Genos will walk through the door and—

And speak of the devil, here he is. Unlocks the door, intterupting Saitama's thoughts, and gently pushes the door open. The first thing he does is lets his eyes close, smell the air and visibly melt. The cinnamon and baked apple warms his heart and softens his soul, the premium beef and carrots and potatoes and rice make his mouth impossibly water. When his eyes open, he smiles, gold irises glowing brightly as they lock onto his beloved boyfriend.

He beelines it to him, only sparing a glance into the kitchen and setting his bags by the table before leaning down to pull him into a warm, affectionate kiss. Saitama eases into his touch instantaneously.

Genos helps Saitama put the food on their plates and bring them to the living room. He initiates them hand-holding throughout their meal, complimentinv Saitama on the food and laughing with him about the fact Genos planned almost this exact "dinner date" for when he got home.

When Saitama finishes his meal, he doesn't hesitate to pull out the notebook from under the table. Genos breaks down when Saitama tells him he made it from scratch, reaches over the table and kisses him over and over, only to apologize profusely after pulling away because oil got on Saitama's face. Of course, Saitma assures him its okay, don't worry about it, and prompts him to show him his gift so he'd feel better.

Shortly after Genos reveals the tragic fate of his custom chocolate, he reaches into a plate in his forearm and pulls out a necklace with a flat-ish pendant depicting two, red-gloved hands holding Genos' core—very obviously custom made. Saitama's hands shook when he took it into his bare hands, fighting back tears that surely would've just made Genos cry again if he let them fall.

With dinner clear and the gorgeous, breathtaking gift in his hands, Saitama asks Genos to help him clear the kotatsu. They do, taking dishes to the kitchen, moving the lit candles to other counters. Genos spares a moment to dig through the chocolates Saitama left him before turning back around. Steam errupts from his shoulder as he watches Saitama just finish pulling his hoodie off, revealing beautiful dark red, almost maroon lace, accentuating his hourglass figure and bringing an arousing aura that makes the cyborg's brain go wild. Saitama lays over the bare table, eyeing Genos hotly before lifting his legs and hips in a silent request for him to help him take his jeans off, which Genos happily helps him do, settled between his thighs.

Leaning forward for a kiss once the jeans were a off, Saitama stops him. He smiles, holding the necklace up.

"Put it on me?"

And Genos, once again, happily does. And once it's one, he wastes no time in lovingly ravishing his boyfriend on top of their table.

Where ???%/Shigeo chaos in the confession arc is classified as Disaster level Demon (bordering on Dragon if he's not stopped). And the ones on their way there are Genos and Saitama

But there's no need for them to really be there since once they arrive the problems as already been taken care of. "I wonder which hero managed to take care of this before we arrived" Genos ponders.

Saitama is about to complain about the fact he was missing some sale on veggies for nothing. A Second time that problems in this city seem to take care of themselves.

They are about to simply make their way home, Genos saying that maybe if they are quick enough they can still make it. Then they notice two people walking among the deserted and destroyed city. Genos decides to go and see, maybe they need assistance. As they approach he sees the way man seems in bad shape and the teenager had been crying. "Do you need help to join safety?" he asks, the teenager looking back at him surprised.

Mob is about to reply that his shisho would need some help, but he is interrupted when Reigen suddenly blurps out "Saitama?", with a surprised and dumbfounded look on his face.

Saitama looks back at the injured man, no emotion really showing on his face, until recognition suddenly bloom on his face. "Arataka?".

"You two know each other shisho/sensei?" Mob and Genos ask at the same time.

The air suddenly becomes awkward as Reigen lets out an just as awkward laugh, scratching at his head (which he winces at the action).

"Mob you may know the Hero Saitama? He's... my ex" he admits.

"It's been a while" Saitama offers to Reigen, which is true, they haven't seen each other in years.

"What?!" Genos and Mob suddenly react.

"Yeah it's been a while, I guess we were both too busy to meet up" Reigen says, "But I can see you are doing pretty good right now, finally became a Hero" he grinned.

"How's your business?" Saitama then wonders

"Sailing smoothly" Reigen grins, carefully throwing an arm around Mob's shoulder to bring him closer, "Even got a powerful student and employee" he added.

Mob doesn't miss the glance Genos gives him, as if trying to assess him.

"Happy to hear everything is going smoothly then"

"I didn't know sensei had an ex" Genos mentions, something in his voice sounding sour and dangerous, glaring at Reigen, making the man back off as Mob steps more in front of him, eyes not leaving the cyborg.

"If my calculation is correct, I think we still have a chance to get the sales if we go now" Genos mentions to Saitama.

This seems to catch Saitama's attention greatly, pully his phone out "No time to chat around then, but we could try and meet again later... if you want" Saitama suggest.

Reigen quickly accept as they exchange numbers again, making sure neither of them had changed theirs. Mob and Reigen wave at them as they rapidly get on their way for the sales, Reigen finally relaxing now that the perceived threat of Genos is gone.

"He hasn't changed" Reigen hums, "Still running after sales" he mentions when Mob looks back up at him, curious. Mob simply nods at this, unsure what to make of this strange encounter. Something in him is happy they somehow didn't figure out he was the one who caused this.

"Let's go now, Why don't we go get ramen after we find my shoes?" Reigen offered, arm thrown over Mob's shoulder once more for support, back on their previous path.

I third the anon saying it ain't over til it's over. Yohe can turn out pretty good coverage but his Geno pieces are always doom laden. Yohe also held the banner for Jack Johnson coming good while in Pitt and we know that didn't happen. He's also one of the writers who deals with the offseason slow period by generating clicks over the trade deadline. Geno's exit interview didn't indicate at all that he has thoughts of leaving of his own accord and money wouldn't be the biggest decider.

right! I'm still thinking about that article that said Geno has never considered playing for another NHL team. I'm thinking about how he said he wanted to end his career in Pittsburgh. I'm thinking about how Sid said he wanted him (and Kris) back. I'm thinking about it all, but almost moreso I'm thinking about that comment about y*he not having that same inner access to the team's management as he used to. I don't think he's as connected as he used to be, and that combined with his often-critical-about-geno's-performance tendencies, I'm not surprised this is how it's shaking down.

like, even if r*ssi were able to write more regularly (and I do hope he keeps seeing recovery!), with his more-inside-track-knowledge of geno, I'm even more skeptical because r*ssi has a flair for good storytelling that occasionally comes at the expense of a... gentle massaging, an easy stretching, of the facts. and y*he doesn't even have that geno connection.

so, in conclusion: yep! wouldn't be surprised if the anguished drawing-out of this process was just a very, very good way to bring in more engagement. lord knows there are a lot of comments on that new article, haha.

at first, genos is indifferent to your presence among the s-class. he’s already prioritized his training and spending as much time as possible with saitama

i don’t even think he’d be aware you’d joined until it was announced at another meeting

he’s veryy curious to know about your abilities and how you shot through the ranks so quickly. but i think he’d keep his distance for a while

assuming reader is around his age, genos would be low-key shy around them. he just can’t bring himself to approach you first. this poor boy-

so at first he sticks to keeping things ✨professional✨ when he hears about a successful mission you were on, you’d get the occasional “i heard you did well against the enemy. well done, y/n” and a little awkward nod of his head

but you’d soon catch on him. when you gave reports at the hero summons, he would ALWAYS pay attention. like watch-dog man could be going on about how city-q is burning to the ground and you’d be like “well everythings fine over here-” and his head would shoot up-

silent fuming if tatsumaki scolds you or anyone interrupts you

and he’d make trips to whatever city you were placed in charge of and ask if you needed any help. he knows you can take care of yourself, he’s just looking for an excuse to talk to you

one day you saw him with saitama and the gang and you started hanging around them and that was it-

you all would be going on a lot of outings together, trying to ignore all the people gaping at you

he definitely finds time to steal you away from the others. he could never grow tired of saitama but fubuki would probably have loads of questions for you so he may excuse himself from the group for a bit and take you with him

the two of you fight sooo well together. you’re often assigned to handle monsters as a team because of how well you work with each other

you’re always with him if his parts get damaged during a fight. scolding him and telling him to be more careful, he’s getting too reckless these days

and genos’ fans take a particular liking to you... if your relationship is public then please believe the fan pages are goin wild

genos doesn’t care about all that, but he’ll quickly jump your defense if people start spreading false rumors about you and your relationship

he loves you and you’ll know it everyday 😌

he is also quite curious as to how you managed to make s-class.

because you either got in right away after the entrance exam, like genos, or you somehow managed to surpass amai mask. either way, he already has some degree of respect for you.

he seems like a bit of a loner, so i imagine the two of you would have to be assigned to a task or mission of some sort together to start communicating.

one thing i like feel he’d admire in an s/o is their strength, so he would be looking respectfully if you two were fighting together.

very observant. he’s looking for your fighting style, what attacks you normally use, and how he can help with his abilities.

he cannot stand heroes who’re only in the profession for the publicity. amai mask already annoys him- so that being said he’s very appreciative to see you actually saving people and being compassionate and not just smiling for the camera while leveling a boulder or sum-

in fact, he probably started to develop some sort of feelings after watching you save someone. maybe it was a child you had helped reunite with their parents after their town was wrecked.

you bring the kid over to their parents, and when you turn over to zombieman he was smiling for a split second before reverting back to that slight frown.

it can be slightly unnerving watching him fight, with his regenerative abilities and all that. you know he’ll recover from any injury but it still concerns you when he gets hurt.

he always reassures you, it’s not a big deal, he’s more than used to it by now. the last thing he wants is to scare you, so catch him actually looking out for his safety and trying to limit the damage done to him for you.

if you get hurt somehow, he’s by your side in an instant. your safety is top priority

he’ll blame himself for your injury, you gotta reassure him for him to feel better, and even that would take a lot of convincing

he’s glad to have you in the s-class, it was getting a little insufferable over there-

remember when he had no idea who madame shibabawa was?? yeah this man does not pay attention during hero meetings 😭 he also was not aware you had joined s-class even though he definitely should’ve been told at that point.

another meeting was called and he’s sitting down in his usual spot, he turns around to see you there like ”😀”

he watches as you calmly give a report on recent sightings of monsters and other matters, like where?? did you come from???

he’s got a pretty boisterous attitude, and he’s very assertive and loud when you first meet him. i feel as though his rashness would be even worse if he thought he had feelings for someone

easily flustered, and it’s obvious too. you offer to come with him for a threat-level demon mission and he’s going on about how he doesn’t need the help of a “newbie” and how he can handle himself just fine. of course you have faith in him, he’s VERY strong but it’s fun to mess with him, and he’ll know when you’re doing it

eventually you decide to tag along with him on an assignment, and surprise, surprise, you hear no complaints from him

you two are a force of NATURE in a fight. his stamina and strength is boundless, and you’re also very impressive with your abilities.

you know those scenes in the manga where he’s in the middle of a fight, his shirt torn, hair all ruffled and in his face, and he’s got bloodstains on him? yeah you’re getting a full view of that on the regular 🥵

Now this could mean King Papyrus from the KPEnding OR OR whats in development rn which Im still concepting but the idea in my brain... HMN SHINY!!! But i wouldnt call it fact just ideas and headcanons of Stuff. I talked a lot about Papyrus knowing already whats actually happened to his friends in this timeline and going along with the lie as a comfort for both himself and Sans. its hard being King, its even harder when you know everyones hopeless and you wont promise death to all humans cause the one you knew was actually super nice to you. Its conflicting. But he stands by the decision of judging a human fairly, if theyre bad, theyre bad (and will used accordingly for the barrier). if Theyre good, then they can stay. Papyrus is very worried for Sans during this time but not enough time to actively help. Theyre both very busy trying to string together the underground here. Altho this makes me think of scenerios where one could romance the King. Idk how it'd help the underground but You'd gain a very handsome skeleton and a funny brother in law. Also the idea of Papyrus actively having to break the barrier with souls but we might come back to that, he IS very against killing afterall. So how they handle that with bad humans... its a discussion until its not. Also Emo, what did i mention of Emo??? He keeps gaining more Papyrus Brothers. Almost every papyrus he comes across the immediately go 'ah. New Brother.' He favors GenoPap the most, as Geno just... actively lets the guy have his space. (Dream would be on this list but he will go along with Pen and Vari a lot). Theres also [REDACTED] pap. I havent decided what that guy does yet, or how he treats Emo. Also the sweet boy just hasnt killed anyone, doesnt know he can?? The eye strings are very new to him as he's only really just figured out he can use them for his clothes. If this is already an idea, this is my personal take on it.

I don't have all the roles worked out yet, but I am absolutely open for anything. Just know that I already have a few sides that I already decided upon that would fill some of the roles.

Logan = Error

You can NOT tell me that this does not fit! Error not being really in to the "Complicated, icky emotions" thing, always being a smart Aleck know-it-all when it comes to his opinions and thought on things, being completely biased when it comes to his opinions and someone else's, claiming to be in right until the facts are laid and him having to sit there and suck it up. Also works in with Error whom used to be a Geno, who was a Scientist and very big-brained. Also works in with the many associations of Logan being a bit of a robot (used in many angst logan fics where the sides saying that he does not have emotions, in which I call Falsehood on those claims.) And Logan being canonically lenient towards technology, in which Error kinda fits in with being a corrupted piece of code that ended up in the Anti-void, aka an "Error" *monotonously laughs*. Totally not because they're both my comfort characters. That's completely absurd!

Roman = Ink

Creativity. Yup, that's it. That's my reasoning. Jk, I feel as though as they're similar in many aspects in character. Both known to being selfish, biased when it comes to reasoning and their own opinions. Does things when it brings them enjoyment, and me liking the idea of them both being major drama Queens. (undoubtedly canon for Roman, unsure about Ink though. Most likely just going to be a little Ink headcanon.) A little reminder is that this is all in my state of opinion of all the characters I mention, some being headcanons. But most Canonical.

As for the other sides, I'm thinking of Nightmare as Virgil? Either him, or Janus for Noot noot. Patton? Possibly Blue or Dream. Though Blue seems like a good fit... Eh, still thinking about it. These are really undecided, but if any one of you guys have an idea on roles, and a really good reason then it will be greatly appreciated.

Who's Thomas? Well, Thomas :/ as a skeleton..? (just Sans with a steven universe shirt and Thomas' personality, lmao–) Speaking of Personalities, is their personalities going to be the same as their original, or the same as the Sander Sides official? It's going to be a fine balance between both, as well as the potential of them not being similar to either Canonically at all. Considering different situations, scenarios, people filling the shoes of these roles, and overall development of how they change throughout it. Can't promise everything to be the same, but I can promise to make it interesting. :)

Is this just going to be a bunch of random fun skits and references of the original Sander sides or is this going to be an actual series following the Sander Sides timeline but with many personal twists, plot and lore?

Answer to that is: Both

It will at first just be skits and references until I go on to delving deeper in to their personalities, plot and using numerous of headcanons and Sander sides what if's to be made canon in this Au/Verse. Just a fun little thing for my self, so I don't at all mind any ideas and Suggestions for all of this.

Also, random question. Should they have the same outfits as the Original Sander Sides, Or should I make them their own original outfits that still fits the role they hold? Ex: Ink/Roman Regal/Artsy clothing style, Error/Logan Light/Dark academia, bookworm nerd vibes. And etc.

Am I thinking of making this a serious thing for myself? Maybe, still have my own Aus to worry about, As well as the ones I'm Co-owning, as well as getting better at natural poses and backgrounds which I struggle with.

Are there going to be Ships? No, Knowing both fandoms they'd have an entire war on the said subject. Specific Heights? Nope, as someone who's been many fandoms for a majority of their life, I'd know that there will be some who'd have their own opinions on height. So I'll just do the classic, They're all the same heights schtick. Humans? Nope, Skellies knowing that everyone will have their own opinions on looks and Nationalities of characters.

This AU/Verse idea is very personal to me, considering these Fandoms have been with me and helped me grown over the course of the years since they were created, even through my process of, "Adultery" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (sksk, meant Adulthood if you didn't get the reference–). Will I be fine with fan art, skits and etc. on this? Absolutely, I'd just like credits to this specific idea. I know full well that I'm not the only one with this idea, but this is still my personal take on the idea, so therefore it's still mine in a way. Though I take no liberties in Originality on the central idea of a Sans Au and Sander Sides crossover.

Will I end up making a seperate account entirely on this idea? Most definitely if people actually like this.

OPM manga updates 212 and 213 review

Hap-palled

Now y'all know that I've never met a piece of OPM story that I can't glom onto and gobble up like I'm late to a buffet and have been on an all-day fast, so you betcha I've got thoughts on the last couple of chapters. To say that I've got mixed feelings is an understatement. Fortunately, I found just the right image to convey this; it's a picture of Ippo (titular character of Morikawa's long-running boxing manga series Hajime no Ippo -- check it out if you like sports manga) being equal parts happy and totally appalled. Hap-palled, I'm calling this emotion.

I thought about summarizing the last two chapters but doing so is getting on my nerves and fuck it, everyone bothering to read this is highly literate, so you know the story. Let's just go straight for the meta.

META

I'll admit it; there's quite a bit in here that made me laugh. ONE's love of low-brow humour never left him and he brought it back. I shouldn't laugh but the ludicrousness of Saitama farting his way back to Earth after being teleported to the Sun; his wardrobe malfunction that restored his clothing everywhere except over his crotch, and Saitama being knocked ass over teakettle by an over-enthusiastic Genos did make me chortle. And of course, seeing Genos alive makes me happy.

However. Let's get more serious.

It's Not What You Want; It's What You Can Live With

While One-Punch Man is a story grounded in Saitama's lack of fulfilment owing to his getting what he wanted, in this story, if you look around, it's full of highly-capable, highly-driven, highly-accomplished people getting what they say they want... and then trying to live with it.

You can see OPM as an extended mediation on the futility of looking to any specific achievement or emotion as the source of happiness. When people ask how it can be classified as a seinen despite never having met a shonen trope it won't clothe itself in, it's this. And when OPM brings the sobering reality that happiness is not a static thing that can be attained once and for all to the world of insane characters striving to achieve impossible things, the implications get frightful.

Saitama's wishes have an especially terrible way of coming true.

Let's start with a positive one. You know OAV 1 when Saitama was sitting alone in the diner and saying that he had to believe that there was somebody out there who saw what he did and appreciated it. And that maybe it could be the guy who'd asked to be his disciple? Don't remember it? Go refresh your memory when you finish reading this. In chapter 155, that moment when Saitama finally understood that Genos really is a hero in his own right and isn't just fighting to get battle data or to fulfil the terms of their contract was the moment Saitama realised that his prayers had been answered TO. THE. LETTER.

Less positively, this arc has seen some of Saitama's less positive wishes come true too. His desire for a tough fight, for a rival who spurred growth, to feel himself growing stronger, to have to come up with new and exciting moves, he got them all.

Not that Garou was much of a rival; he only lasted as long as he did because Saitama decided to beat him with one hand. King pissed Saitama off by calling his desires shallow, immature, and not what being a hero was about. How right he was. The tragedy for the planet's existence was what it took for Saitama to see the truth of that.

I know Saitama said that he'd felt like destroying the Earth in a fit of frustration over losing his house. The fact that he really did throw a punch that would have destroyed the planet were it not for Blast (and team) intervening on losing Genos... should really give Saitama serious pause.

Garou also got his wish of being the Ultimate Evil, the ominous future that threatened survival itself, but how bitterly he came to regret it!

Just Had To Go There

After update 211, we had much speculation on how it could be possible that Genos's injuries were compatible with life. The answer: they weren't. Everyone else with blood coming out of every available orifice? They're dead too, even the allegedly unkillable Zombieman. Garou? He died; God went Old Testament on his ass and turned him into salt for displeasing Him. Saitama's the only person left alive on a planet that looks lifeless as far as the eye can see -- and probably much further. Not that the still-living would have much consolation: Jupiter, the protector of Earth from deadly projectiles, has been splashed and is slinging gigatons of rock and gas spewing in every direction. Even the Sun has not been left unscathed. ONE really went there, huh. But we'll fix it all... with time travel! This side of me is just appalled.

Physics is of course, not a friend to manga, but this time travel via subatomic particles thing takes the cake. There's just a homeopathic whiff of reality to it, in that subatomic particles can be symmetrical in time as well as space (e.g. an electron moving forward in time can be represented as a positron moving backward in time), but Garou being able to make particle and anti-particle sychronise but cancel out and Saitama being able to make them all go the same direction, thus moving backwards in time on the macroscale, ah hahaha.

Hell Is Truth Seen Too Late Redux

A few weeks ago, I wrote a meta about Garou's development in the story that is panning out quite well (damn) link.

As you know, I am never happy to see just one translation source. The last few chapters have really brought home why it's so important to have more than one independent person/group looking at the source material. A real problem with Garou's entanglement with God was that the translation given by the Reddit scanslation group and Viz alike was 'avatar', which created the impression that Garou was forced to do God's bidding. How does any redemption for Garou make sense if he didn't do anything? Denying characters agency is a horrid thing to do most times. Denying Garou agency is especially senseless.

I suspected otherwise and said as much; however, it's Koumbaya's love of digging into the connotations of the words used that really shines here. In an excellent bit of detective work (here), they pointed out that God's words to Garou were not that Garou would be His avatar per se, but rather the terms used when you empower someone to act in your place and with your authority. It would have been more correct to call Garou God's agent rather than His avatar. Garou has not been deluding himself about his actions being his own will. He was just telling the truth. Which means that what he did is his fault. This is a good thing but bear with me a second.

In their translation of update 211 (here), they also pointed out that when Garou was noting that he'd have to never see Tareo again, he moved from pronouns indicating closeness to those indicating distance. English has no compact ways of indicating distance. French can go from 'tu' to 'vous' here, so their translators are going to find this easy to convey. I noticed a couple of people puzzled as to why Garou went in the opposite direction to Tareo rather than towards him; that's your context. Garou should have left when Blast pleaded with him to come to a pocket dimension to save the lives of the people around him. He'd give anything right now to do that now, but Hell is truth seen too late.

One of the big, big flaws of Garou is that he's never seen people as people. They've been faceless things to him, and Tareo was the only person who could consistently cut through his miasma. His tendency to do this is mirrored by Saitama's state and thoughts just before he met Genos, btw. Like him, Saitama was losing his sense of reality. One becomes a monster when one becomes a separate existence from humanity, indeed.

Garou Finally Changes His Story

Bringing it all together, seeing Saitama holding that core was what brought it home to Garou that other people could understand him. They could feel like him, suffer like him, not think through the full consequences of their actions like him.

All through this story, Garou has seen himself as a victim of circumstances and has railed on how other people should behave better. Other people should stop being bullies. Should stop discriminating. Should stop being heroes with smug smiles on their faces as they put down the outcasts. He's appointed himself a monstrous busybody, going around trying to dictate to people how to be -- by knowingly adding great, needless cruelty to their lives. Nothing good was ever going to be built out of an enterprise founded on such crooked foundations. Well, what about you, Garou? What can you do to do better than you did before?

That's the most wonderful thing, to see Garou actually ask himself and find an answer to that question.

If Garou chose his actions, then that meant he had responsibility. If he had responsibility, then that meant he had agency. And if he had agency... then what stopped him from using his talent and imagination to consider a way to use his (literal) God-given abilities to a better end?

And that's when Garou humbled himself to ask for help. He could see how to use those powers, but he acknowledged that it was Saitama who had the ability to pull it off. This is a ridiculously huge step forward for him. I also read a certain humility in his asking Saitama to stop him before it was too late. An acknowledgment that he isn't going to be able to make different decisions without intervention.

I wondered how Garou's actions in this timeline could be forgiven. I had really hoped that what would happen is that he'd reverse entropy and heal the people he'd hurt, but alas, it was too late for anybody. I'm not a fan of redemption being death, but I understand ONE choosing to keep it simple (told you I was hap-palled). His actions were unforgivable so he paid for them with his life. But, he paid bravely. Even as God was turning him into salt, he did not waste a second panicking or feeling bad for himself and continued to instruct Saitama.

You may go 'why am I saying mean things about Garou?' But I feel that if for me not to note and condemn his bad sides is to sell his good aspects short and minimize the great personal development that he made. It's to me like measuring a mountain only from sea level, ignoring the fact that it is a sea volcano with its roots deep in the abyss. Half-assed.

He that would change the world must first start with himself is said so often it sounds trite, but self-transformation is no joke. Garou changed his story and, sad as I am over how it turned out, I couldn't be more proud of him. It really makes the cover hit different when you look at it again after reading the chapter and you realize that that's not Garou and Saitama's fists clashing but is rather a fist bump and that Garou's already turning into salt even as he does so.

In the end, they are not so different.

Too Little, Too Soon?

Speaking of personal change, let's move to Saitama who realised too late what he actually valued. And then dismantled causality itself to undo things. That moment of empathy when Garou realised that Saitama clung onto Genos as he clung onto Tareo for his very sanity, I wonder if Saitama has that same insight into his actions?

As I watch Saitama apparently forget why he re-entered the timeline once he merged with his present-day self and see him distracted by his disciple and a wardrobe failure in a very inappropriate place, I'm scared that Saitama won't remember enough to understand why he has to completely defeat Garou. If he only 'almost' beats Garou, Garou will continue on his catastrophic path and that would be a crime for which Saitama would be entirely responsible.

I hope the mute witness of the core he's still holding and the cramp in his left hand remind him of a future nightmare that might still come to pass, just a few minutes from now. I hope that his arms remind him of the feel of the dead child he rearranged to look as if they'd inexplicably decided to take a nap in a sea of rubble. I hope that his tongue reminds him of the taste of a youth crumbling away, who used his last bit of life to ask him to save him from himself. Even if Saitama doesn't remember what happened, I hope he realizes what he has to do and that it's not over until he ensures that Garou quits his quest for evil and finds a better path.

horrible, meaningless ends I never want to see again

Please, Saitama, this isn't the time to half-ass things. Beat Garou completely. His life and the lives of everyone you know and care about depend on it. Maybe that's why there's still a time-travelled core in Saitama's hand; the future is not averted. It's merely postponed unless he does the right thing fast.

I'm also concerned that Saitama may have dropped back into time too soon. That gamma-ray burst has still happened and it might not be too long before people start dropping dead anyway.

I've got a feeling that this isn't over by a long chalk. That baleful moon is still watching. It's not over until the Sun rises.

hi so I've just eaten too much ice cream, feel vaguely ill, and I'm here to tell you All About How I Failed At Outlining for SGKF this year!

that's partially just a fun tagline, but it's also a bit true. I told my friends I'd be trying to use several different outlining methods to try and knock out a plotty piece for the fest, and things did not go to plan!

important to begin with: I am what is referred to as a "pantser." I tend to just start writing. this is strangely contradictory to my personality, which deeply loves plans. unfortunately, what often happens is plans and outlines ruin my excitement and drive while working on a project (it tricks me into thinking I've done all the work and resolved the plot), leading me to abandon it.

and though I can throw together pretty words and made a decent fic, my fics never turned out as good as they could have been. I kept telling myself that if I planned in advanced and worked out what I was doing BEFORE I did it, I'd be able to craft a fic with such care and attention as to make it really SHINE.

so, uh, kinkfest rolls around, and since I was a mod I could see all the prompts before they even got released to the public, so I basically had a WHOLE EXTRA two-ish weeks to start planning and writing.

did I? NO.

so, despite the fact that I collect writing advice like a magpie , I'm not the greatest at implementing it. if you go into my SGKF google folder, you'll find a few instances of me TRYING to implement writing advice like metawriting:

my issue was (and still is) that I think I value every little word too much. this is a bad thing: I'm an overwriter by nature. when I get words down, I want to keep them because I feel like I worked hard for them, even if they're not great or don't actually serve the story in the way they should. that's not to say all my metawriting was bad; it wasn't. I tried it out for A Drowning in California as well [which will henceforth just be referred to as "California").

I had a whole subfolder for California. what kind of amazed me is how different my initial notes for the prompt are from what the story actually ended up being. here, take a look:

literally almost none of this is in california. the WWE and UFC stuff made it in, and so did sid wrestling with horny, but that was it. I was going to start this fic in the locker room, with sid wrestling someone, and it was seriously going to be a story about sex—about sid wanting to hold geno down in bed. that was the premise.

and instead, we got a really emotional story about familial rejection and the isolation it can make people feel. SO! something happened along the way, right?

when I started getting into the plot that would support this supposed sexfest, this is where I went at first:

geno wants the relationship to get serious, sid is like mentally still a 12 year old who just wants to wrestle people and doesn't want to talk about his emotions, and prefers to use physicality to communicate. this doesn't work for geno, who wants ... more

we can start to see the actual emotions come through, the things I was interested in: sid using touch to talk, and geno desperately wanting more

what did the most good for me, in the end, was "doing" the metawriting by talking with my friends.

I told them what i thought this story was about ("I'm thinking about making this a story about relationship-defining, maybe? and the communication needed for a lasting adult relationship? I think I'm going to set it in california/LA, where Sid has invited Geno along for the first time for his California Summer Fun/Training/Escape, whatever, and Geno's going to be emotionally preoccupied with Defining The Relationship—maybe they've been on-again-off-again? maybe they're just new to this, like almost a year deep, and they're not getting younger—and thinking this trip is about that [or hoping this trip is about that, and realizing it isn't, and being disappointed].") and they told me what jumped out at them.

Jes told me what would ramp up the tension would be a deadline of some sort; "Geno’s going to break up with Sid or make some decision or something, or there’s something approaching where they have to make a will they or won’t they decision of some kind related to the core ‘defining the relationship’ issue. I liked her thoughts. it made sense to add an external pressure to all this, and that wedding idea stuck out to me the most.

Lis said I should add a jealousy angle, so you can largely credit her for the club scene: "one thing i like to sort of headcanon/imply about sid's california trips is he uses them to hook up anonymously. so you could have, like, sid and geno seeing sid's friends, but also accidentally running into some of sid's friends. and geno's like oh, great, so here i am doing this horrible summertime training that i hate because i don't need to train in the offseason actually, and i'm learning what exactly sid gets up to when we're apart."

My magical solution these days is GOING FOR WALKS. do it if you're able. it clears out your brain. so on my walks I ended up deciding that I wanted a taylor crosby wedding. I like taylor as a character, and as a person with sisters I just like writing her in. best of all, she and sid are close and I like writing "I'd do anything for my family" sid.

and then I was like. oh. what if it's not that sid is afraid/nervous to bring geno, it's that he can't.

I... wasn't as conflicted as I thought I'd be about writing sid's parents as homophobic. I prefer to write them as supportive; I think troy crosby's been eviscerated more than he should have been in older fanworks, and though I respect their right to make fictional!troy whatever they want, I've been a little skeptical of outlandish takes on him ("he doesn't say I love you to his son because a camera caught them mid-interaction once!") ever since I read how the media has found him a convenient narrative villain while he tried to keep his underage son safe from the media as a child and while they needed to cook up Spicy Stories about squeaky-clean sid.

uh, tangent aside, I always thought I'd never write a "parents are the villains" story, but I did here. it felt right. it was easier, too, because they're not PRESENT in the story. I didn't have to write trina actually being horrible to her son. I just had to skirt the edges of the wound.

which works well on two fronts: I don't have to actively write the crosbys being horrible to sid, and I also leave more to the imagination of the reader, and that almost never fails to make the work better. whatever the reader imagines them saying to sid, it's going to be 10x more hurtful than anything I'd write.

I dug really deep on some personal emotions and fears I experience as a gay person for a lot of sid's arc here. sid is deeply imperfect in this story, and he's internalizing his pain and the horrible thing that's happened to him, which is making him pull away from his partner, and sid is not responding how geno wants, nor is he responding well, period, though he's trying in his own wounded, stilted way.

and beloved geno, whose tender heart is so hidden away for fear of someone hurting it. I really like writing geno; he's huffy and emotional and sometimes bitchy and feels things SO deeply.

once I had more of an idea, I was already working on a more detailed outline. this is where I seriously took Jes's advice and WROTE EVERYTHING OUT! it made it so much less daunting, because I didn't have to be figuring out my next steps AND crafting sentences at the same time. also this is where I tell you that the title of this post is mostly a lie, it was metawriting I failed at.

This outline also meant I avoided writing large swaths of things that should've been cut. Another beta told me I should delete three scenes and condense a bunch of emotions into the club scene, and she was SO right. Cutting events out of an outline is WAY easier than cutting out pages of text.

Ironically my outline kind of deteriorated after the club scene, but that's alright: after I wrote the club scene, I actually had a clear vision of what I wanted the end to be. I just had to trust myself. I CAN do this, I CAN still just write intuitively sometimes!

I think California did what I wanted it to do. I'd love to try something out that's longer and has more story arcs in it (jes has a post for that too!) but I think that's best saved for another, longer project, though 18k isn't short.

next up is maggie stief's writing seminar that I bought a month back. I'm going to start working on that this month and see how I like it. I have a few halloween fic ideas, plus spookfest, so these next two months we should be cooking in the kitchen!

Meet Fuben!

Yes I made another character. No, he is not a shipkid. Fuben is a fusion of Killer and Blue. I plan on hopefully making some sort of story for how the fusion occurs, whether that’s writing or finding the time to make a legitimate comic. Either way, take some information on him!

Time to sit down again, grab your popcorn, and listen to this girl ramble about character development, yay!

Okay all kidding aside, Fuben is a Killer and Blue fusion. Now, before I go into full depth explaining how the fusion happened, I wanna share a little headcanon on souls.

A soul is your very culmination, your entire being. When you’re happy, your soul reflects that. Same with being sad, or tired, or bored, etc. etc. But a special trait that souls have is the ability to hold happiness. When a being is overly rejoiced, exhilarated, or incredibly in love, the soul will glow immensely. When said soul does this, it is able to “combine” in a sense with another soul. By pushing two of these brightly glowing souls together, the beings can feel each other’s happiest moments. However, it’s a very private thing, and it’s usually only done between married beings that fully trust one another. However it is crucial not to touch one another while doing this. Again, the soul is the very culmination of your being. So if the souls are able to fuse, so can your body.

Which unfortunately is what happened to Killer and Blue.

So one day, the Star Sanses and the Bad Guys has met to have a battle. It was supposed to be a huge scale battle that would determine the fate of the multiverse. The Star Sanses had arrived with new members, including Geno, Outer, and Core. The Bad Guys has recruited Error. When the battle begun, everyone began attacking. Now see, Blue and Killer we’re having the time of their lives. They didn’t always get the chance to fight like this, and it was a great way to let off some steam. Because they were exhilarated, both of their souls began glowing brightly. Now, this would have been just fine, except for the fact that Killer’s soul was already hovering in front of him, and Dust had used soul magic to bring Blue rushing forward, which brought out his soul. And unfortunately, his soul, along with his body, ran right into Killer’s.

The two ended up fusing, and their appearance matched the one shown in the image on the right. Blue has control of the left eye and arm and Killer has control of the right arm and eye. When it comes to the legs it seems to be one or the other. Now unfortunately, they cannot unfuse. Because the fusion includes a member from both sides, they aren’t accepted back in and are outcasted. Though over time, they learn to accept this new state they’ve been put in and use it as a lesson.

The name Fuben means “inconvenience” in Japanese. They decided the name was fitting, seeing that being in this situation was indeed an inconvenience. Though they still react if you call them by Killer or Blue. Their birthday is the day that they fused, which is still undetermined as of now, but they do still celebrate their actual birthdays as well. Their magic consists of knives fueled by orange and blue magic. They end up changing their outfit to the one shown on the left of the ref after they decided on a name because they wanted to be their own being, not a combination of two. They also use he/him and they/them pronouns.

As you can see, it’s not a lot. He’s still very much in development. And uh, sorry for the pings @andrewture and @156lemongummies , but I wanted to credit you both for the original idea. Everyone had been talking about their fusions and how they were inspired to make a fusion because of it, and I was originally gonna follow the Dream and Nightmare fusion train, but then I was like “nAh LeTs TaKe My FaVoRiTe SnAs AnD cOmBiNe HiM wItH a StAr SnAs!”

Multishipping

A rant about multishipping in the Undertale Multiverse I had internally while washing dishes that I decided was so important that as soon as I finished I needed to write everything down.

(This is going to be a little long so most is under the cut)

You can like the ships you want, enjoy only one ship, enjoy shipping everyone, but can we all agree that multishipping fits easily in the Undertale Multiverse?

It may not seem so at first, but when you think about it, a lot of the well known characters are in the older range(Ink & Error probably in their thousands or close to, Nightmare & Dream being 100, most sans’ in their 20-40s) and by that age most have had a relationship.

Not looking down on anyone who hasn’t, the idea that Nightmare has been single his whole 500 years is a fun oneshot/ series idea, just saying that most that are willing to date have by that age.

Looking further into it and taking all the different personalities into account and ages, it’s far more likely that Ink Dream Nightmare and Error have all had random relationships that they’ve forgotten about over the years. Adding in Ink’s forgetfulness, there’s an even higher possibility of him having random swings that he’s forgotten about.

Maybe before Cross worked for Nightmare he and Ink had a small thing, probably really cold all alone, wouldn’t be a stretch that Ink would bring blankets and the two would enjoy pillow-forts together and snuggle in them. Ink sees a box of chocolates, thinks of Cross, and brings it to him. Maybe by coincidence Ink doesn’t think about the fact the box is heart shaped or that mortals have a holiday called Valentines.

Maybe Ink and Error have had many flings and short or long relationships throughout time that both of them or just one of them forgot about. It would explain how sometimes Ink seems to know random things about Error that he’d only know about if he knew Error more personally rather than as an enemy.

Maybe Dream had a few secret relationships with the villagers? Maybe Nightmare and Reaper had a short fling considering how often their work intertwines?

Also considering and taking into account Error’s many lives there’s even more to think about. Maybe when he was Sci he and Hearts were together? Maybe as Classic he met reaper a few times while in the void waiting room for the next reset? Maybe Geno saw Dream or Nightmare on occasion?

It’s adds a little more realism and character to everyone when you take into account not a lot of people meet the right person first go. Not hating on the trope, or that some situations mean that people stayed away from dating or never dated because of their own reasons, but for the characters that are single and open to something new, it adds a little more flesh to their paper stories.

Ohhh well. First of all. Welcome to the nerve wracking, nail biting, jaw clenching, gut wrenching, heartbreaking and utterly incredible world of (ice) hockey. Angry muscle machines on skates chasing a tiny rubber puck in the nhl and their goddess equivalents in wnhl - what’s not to love?

You’ve decided on a hell of a year to join. Due to Covid, the normal system was paused and a recent bubble playoffs series played and later won by Tampa Bay Lightning a few weeks ago. The new season would’ve begun last week but is currently expected to start around December.

I’d say the best starting point would be to watch some games - YouTube has a lot of highlights, game compilations etc. and browse hockey tumblr. Hockey tumblr is a great combination of hockey gossip, game reviews, fans sharing their love, passion and (hateful) opinions about players, clubs and the sport in general.

My personal team faves are a handful - you see, the league is “split” into two conferences - east and west and within here a few other divisions dictating who the teams will play on a more recent basis. The clubs in the nhl being split over North America and Canada means a lot of ground to cover and therefore it’s split like this - time zones, distance and whatever. So maybe decide on a conference first? East or west.

I’m an eastern conference gal meself, but the west sure has its merits too.

So. Teams. You’re about to start a rumble here 😂

I am a personal fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins 🐧 they play good hockey, in spite of their idiot general manager (I’ve got posts detailing why he’s an ass hat extraordinarie). They’re captained by Canada’s hockey savior, Sidney Crosby: hockey robot, yellow crocs enthusiast , triple gold member (youngest captain to get all three?) and the goodest boy in the league. He’s been heralded as the next great one yada yada since he was about 5? And shot pucks into a dryer back in Canada - with that came a lot of shit for the poor guy who, in his own words, just wants to play hockey. And he’s good. He’s got his team of French Canadian d-men (letang, dumo), a whole lot of goalie drama which seems to be a pattern and his Russian (husband) assistant captain Evgeni Malkin who’s got the cutest kid, a really cool wifey (seriously her insta is 10000 better than geno’s own) and a wicked sense of humor which he conviently hides behind his “English big bad today” excuse to avoid media on a daily basis (he’s played this card since his wild escape and temporary defection from Russia back in 2006) seriously google it. It’s wild. They’ve won three cups since 2009, they’re contenders in the playoffs most years and their pr department provides some hilarious videos of captain Canada and his Russian (husband) A. It’s a true love story. Sue me. We’ve got an intense rivalry with philly and the caps. Seriously. That orange flyers jersey is intense - even if philly’s mascot is the next president.

Funnily enough, my strange obsession with Russian hockey players have led to the most disturbing but developing club crush on the Washington capitals who are the penguins’ nemesis.

I mean, this club led by the one and only gr8 8 mr Alexander Ovechkin is a rollercoaster of emotion and hot daddies in skates armed with sticks and a murder Swede.

So. Washington caps used to be a joke in the league until they went and drafted mr ovechkin first overall, brought him to the capital and let him do his thing. He’s got a rep for being a hell of a lot of fun on the ice (if you’re on his team) and one of those players that people love to hate (even if they can’t take away how freakishly good he is at hockey) - look up his impossible goal(s)! He’s an exuberant, fun loving Russian with a heart of gold and a missing tooth. In 2007, the caps went shopping for a center just for ovi who needed a playmaker and a slap shot feeeder - they went and drafted the Swedish angel (maybe assassin) (Lars) Nicklas Backstrom - and the purest hockey marriage was forged. The actual words (we needed a center for ovi and ovi wanted backstrom) have been said. Yes, these two Are now famously the mama and papa of the caps and they have a roster of unruly (and handsome) hockey babies with the fighting menace Tom Wilson, bird impersonator and Russian cat Evgeni Kuznetzov and a whole army of other adorable (albeit hockey playing menaces) babies. Most recently they had the leagues daddiest daddy goalie Mr Holtbeast as the fun and handsome canadien cowboy uncle but he’s ventured to Vancouver to adopt a new group of hockey babies. To compensate, the caps went shopping in New York and brought the one and only king Henrik from the crease in msg to be the goalie mentor for baby Russian caps goalie and to keep the daddy energy flowing.

(Seriously why are Swedish players part time models? Their national team strategy is to be so handsome the other teams are distracted. It’s a thing. Look it up)

I also love a handful of other players on other teams (I really don’t dislike any team in particular - but you’ll meet some dedicated and strong minded fans here)

Erik Horse Johnson, Cale Makar and Nikita Zadorov (Colorado Avs - zad have recently been traded to the blackhawks (not sure how I feel about that). Phwucking fun team. Who needs teeth anyways.

The Dallas stars and the most precious bean of them all (Russian) dobby - Anton khudobin their backup goalie turned playoffs hero and fashion icon. The man said we’re not going home and threw the entire team on his back and dragged them to the final. And their homoerotically charged captain and his alt captain and their Hollywood epic soap worthy relationship. Stallions, people, Stallions...

Btw we like to project our brash queerness onto this league. You’ll learn why quickly. There’s only so much talks about hot hands, slick moves, eternal love for teammates and quite frankly obscene (sexy) amounts of kneeling, roughing (let’s face its it’s just aggressive cuddling) and teammates honorably defending teammates.

Anyways. I love hockey. He. Sorry.

Fun fact I’ve dragged @canesinthecrease kicking and screaming into the hellhole that is the caps and I’m working on convincing @dontpuckwithme about the incredibly sexy thing that is Russians and Canadians being secretly married in Pittsburgh.
