I don't know what to do. What's the end goal of all of this? Am I really just supposed to keep chasing and consuming power wherever I find it? To what end? And will it actually ever be enough?

Possibly unpopular opinion (Or perhaps not idk): I love what they have done with Zuko and Ozai's relationship in the live action Netflix Avatar show.

In the cartoon we never get the ~vibes~ that Zuko has a complicated relationship with his father, only that it is abusive and one-sided in the sense only Zuko craves Ozai's approval, while Ozai straight up hates him, wants him dead or has no problem with him dying (Why doesn't he kill him if he has Azula? We don't know, plot has to happen, he sent Zuko to find the avatar in order to get rid of him, probably, or actually canon idk or remember), clearly prefers Azula to him as successor, etc, etc, etc (+ later the comics literally overkilled this trend "she was born lucky while..." omg stfu). Zuko is basically the perfect character to prove the fire nation is not all evil (Oh look, they hate him too, he is inherently their victim too from the very beginning).

So when Zuko switches sides in the cartoon, what I see as an adult rewatching is someone giving up on luxory, physical safety and... that is pretty much it. Sure it is a big deal to give up on those things to do what is right (Few would) and still awesome that he did the right thing in the end, but if you really think about it, he is not giving up that much, he is not giving up anything truly valuable to him. Respect? Honor? Sure he is said to have received it back after Azula "killed" Aang, but we never truly see it. For all intents and purposes his sister has that and wayyy more of it. His father's love and acceptance? Never had it, so he didn't truly "loose it" when he spoke up for those soldiers, got the scar and was banished, it is not really shown to have suddenly popped into existence when he was said to have killed the avatar. He literally had nothing in the fire nation, literally nothing. This could only make "doing the right thing" a lot easier for him, and for the adult audience (At least for me), his arc is just him realizing what is almost irritatingly obvious for us: That no one in the fire nation truly loves and respects him so might as well switch sides (Basically if we weren't also shown that Zuko is compassionate and does care about the horrible things the fire nation is doing, Ember Island Players would have gotten a bit of truth in it).

Now, in the live action, where do I even start? It has been so good so far when it comes to Ozai and Zuko. That man, if he hated Zuko in a cartoonishly evil way almost from birth, he sure doesn't show it. Don't get me wrong, he is just as abusive (Creepily so in many scenes, made me feel so protective of Zuko and Azula), but he is also shown to "care" about Zuko as in having some hope left that he can mold him into another powerful genocidal mini me. Is Azula winning by far? Ofc, she is still the prodigy, I am sure I am going to see flashbacks of favoritism later on. But Ozai doesn't yet seem to favor her in a way that makes Zuko's craving for his approval (Or even Ozai's hope in him as heir) hopeless. It seems, from his scenes with Azula, that Ozai foments the rivalry and competition between the two siblings not only because he personally thinks Azula is the best (Which he also might in this version), but also as a way of control through fear (Especially for prodigy Azula), and to make them (Especially comparatively weaker Zuko) "better", something this version of Ozai appears to think is possible EVEN when he banishes Zuko. Now, he might have done this "to get rid of him" as in the original, but in the live action he seems super open to and genuinely believe the idea that the exile could make Zuko stronger and better, not to mention worthy of the throne if he succeeds. Ozai treats Zuko like the heir despite favoring Azula is all I am saying. Zuko's actions are therefore almost impossible, yes, but not hopeless or even naive. And if this trend of Ozai's respect and "love" (Super on quotes) being achievable continues, Zuko's eventual turn to the good side will be much more powerful. He will have to give up much more after spending a summer with his abusive parent love bombing him for "killing" the avatar. Zuko's choice will be solely based on his findings about the horrors the fire nation has committed and not wanting to be the cause of more suffering even though he could have it all. Even though it was his fate to be his father's "mini me"-> Something terrifyingly likely and not so quickly discarded by the narrative itself as it was in the animated series.

I think the best part about this subtle change in the father-son dynamic (If it was the intention of the writers, I am aware it could have been unintended) is that the scar tm was a direct result of Zuko's compassion for those soldiers and not just the excuse Ozai used to banish him or "final straw" because he preferred Azula sooo much more, as it is pretty much implied later on in the animated series and comics by focusing so much on how much of a perfect victim Zuko was pretty much from birth. The addition of the 41st surviving because of Zuko was also pretty nice, and so is Zuko's relationship with them, he will need fire nation allies when he gets to the throne and this is a good start, something the animated series never touched upon much.

I am on episode 6 btw so my opinion might change. I will edit this post if that is the case. BUT my thoughts on these first scenes doesn't change, they are good imho

EDIT (And spoilers): I just watched Zhao’s revelation where he tells Zuko that Ozai would never let him return and he just wanted to use him to motivate Azula. It does change things and invalidates most of what I said, but taking out just this one scene, as I said, the Ozai-Zuko dynamic is great in this show, and also, Zhao is obviously not the most reliable source, because he was allied to Azula and obviously wanted to hurt Zuko, as he was losing the fight with him. There is also the fact that Azula wasn't watching Ozai and Zuko when Ozai told his son that he was being banished and that it was in part so he could get stronger etc, that was all for Zuko and had little way of serving as motivation for Azula (Unlike the scenes where Ozai praises Zuko in front of her, those could have totally been him bullshitting his daughter to motivate her to work even harder). So all in all this scene doesn't ruin the overall impression I had of the Ozai-Zuko father-son dynamic in the life action show. In fact, it could be taken to confirm one of my impressions which was that Ozai likes pitying his children against each other to push them harder.

EDIT 2: Ozai's reaction to Zuko's possible death is further proof imo that his “test” was very much real (even if almost impossible) and everything I said earlier still stands. He wouldn't mind that much if he died, it would just prove his “weakness”, and he is very pleased with Azula, but he didn't look happy or even indifferent when he learned the news.

I think we should talk more about how intresting and full of potential mikey's character is and make more content of him

Mikey is quite litellary what you would call "the glue of the family", he tries the most out of everyone to avoid conflict while still having quite of a temper, he tries his best at seeing good in people witch is both his greatest strengt because it helps with making allies, it helps within the team, it overall helps your mental health (most of the time, it makes people treat you good because you treated them good

However it is also a great weakness that show itself points out, it can make you not notice when youre in bad company, it can make you trust even love people you shouldn't, it can make you easy to toy with and use, it can also make people view you as "dummer"

Also I think this is an unpopular opinion but I think that mikey also should be shown as also protective towards his older brothers, I see alot of posts where for example

Leo want's to do X thing, or leo meets X person and donnie and raph are worried but mikey is completly oblivious to it and is just chill with everything

In scenario in witch BOTH donnie and raph are worried either of two things would happen

Mikey would most likely be worried to some dagree too, probably smaller one but still some (id understand that he could be chill with something raph is worried about because it's raph, but If donatello hamato is also worried about something to the level of showing it would most likely mean mikey would also worry, like I said probably not on the level of his older brothers but still some)

What made you ship it?

I started kinda mulling it over after reading the DirkJohn fic "Hold Me Tight Or Don't"...which I have linked before. It has a dirkkat one night stand in it and...god. It's just good. The second I read that section I was sold. And then I started roleplaying a mafia au with an old friend of mine and it was a snowball effect.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

You can kinda go about dirkkat in a couple different ways. For one, they make a phenomenal hateship, which I think @arquiving has represented really really well in a oneshot fic of theirs. But personally I do it a bit different. (I wish I was more eloquent like my friends are about their ships...maybe then I could sell you guys better on it, but I'll give it my best shot.) I think that, they're two guys who are so fucking insecure, and on the one hand...they could make each other so much worse but, the way I look at it is... Dirk cares, but wishes he was better at caring about things that aren't related to himself, and so I think he would value the way that Karkat wears his heart on his sleeve the way he does, and the way he is physically unable to stop himself from caring out loud. I think that Karkat would envy/admire Dirk's (external) air of confidence, and also think he's the most idiotic and adorable person. I also think that they would in no way be graceful about getting together... it probably happens on accident the majority of the time. But they stay together because they end up kind of...leveling each other out in some ways. Bolstering each other. Idk man, they also look great together and I want them to bang.

A few opinions about Chicago Med below unpopular, popular, I dunno, y’all decide!

Ava’s character had so much potential, but the way the producers wrote her relationship with Connor screwed her over.

As much as I love Rhodestead, I really, REALLY wish Manstead would’ve worked out. Albeit, give Will some therapy and teach him how to treat a woman !!

If we couldn’t have Manstead, we should’ve at the very least had Jeff Clarke with Natalie, he genuinely cares about her, but at the time, she was in love with Will. I wish they had more time together.

Elsa sucks. Period. I get, that it’s fiction and she’s meant to be quirky and not an average doctor? But she’s such an asshole to patients that I can’t respect her as a doctor.

Natalie should’ve had an arc where she was transferred to the peds department permanently. She would’ve thrived there.

I don’t like Nina. I understand people that do, but she’s personally not for me, I think her and Will’s relationship was… pointless? It was only to make Will realize he was truly in love with Natalie. Which, didn’t matter in the end cause of how badly their relationship ended.

The way Sarah left was absolutely insulting to her character and her relationship with Dr. Charles. Biggest punch to the gut ever as someone who relates strongly to Sarah.

Connor’s best arc was becoming a heart surgeon under Downey’s guidance. Their friendship was too short and underrated.

Lanik deserved so much more screen time. He was the best E.D. Chief and should’ve gotten more appreciation.

Maggie carries the show, I take not disagreeing on this one actually. /hj

April honestly deserves to be happy. She’s been through so much shit, and she and Ethan DESERVED that happy ending.

The “safe” drug use site was maybe Will’s worst decision. Next to Jennifer Baker and taking care of Burke.

As bad as I feel for both Natalie and Will, she had no right to treat Will the way she did, having lost her memory or not.

There was a point where I DID NOT like Natalie. She was flat-out emotionally abusive to Will when he genuinely did care about her and tried to help.

That being said, Will still has faults. He should’ve absolutely given her space after the breakup and the Burke situation.

And I know he’s a highly secondary character but, I can’t help but feel bad for Owen? He saw Will as his dad, he was probably the first male figure he saw after he was born for… quite a while? It was shitty of Natalie to completely separate them. Especially after how much Will cared about him.

Second, to all of that, Philip was fucking pointless.

Ben was the best thing to happen to Maggie as well.

How I feel about this character

He’s one of my pwotr favs! I’m sure it helped that Piper was my first playthrough- they were born to be best friends, and as soon as he told her they could run off together if the Crusader thing didn’t work out he cemented his permanent place in her party

Even without all that, he’s an archetype I really enjoy: the chaotic mischief-maker with hidden depths, who has a ton of flaws and makes a ton of mistakes but ultimately has his heart in the right place

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Hmm- I’ll be honest, I haven’t thought about this one much! All the OC ships with him are great (I love Sia/Woljif so much!!!), but other than those I haven’t considered many!

That said, I do think Sosiel/Woljif would be cute. There’s a banter where Sosiel says that Woljif has “an intriguing and appealing expression” when he’s lost in thought…and Woljif brushes it off as Sosiel telling him to be quiet, but idk I think there could be something there.

Like, Woljif enjoys challenging a lot of Sosiel’s ideas, but Sosiel genuinely enjoys the discussion and appreciates some of Woljif’s deeper thoughts. And Sosiel likes catching Woljif off guard by meeting Woljif’s cynicism with his own earnest opinions (see that banter where Woljif asks what the most valuable thing in a shelynite temple is and Sosiel just says “rose petal tea <3”). And I think Sosiel would bring out Woljif’s softer side, and Woljif would get protective of Sosiel, and they’d have some interesting parallels in how their respective families impact their character arcs. Y’know this started out as a small thought but the more I talk the more I like it

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I mean, y’all know how much the Piper & Woljif friendship. Rambling about my OC’s probably isn’t what this prompt is intended for but too bad because Piper & Woljif are everything to me. They had this instant understanding of each other, and they only grew closer over time, and they’re joking when they call each other brother and sister but they also mean it with their whole hearts. I need to find that quote about friendship soulmates again because that’s them!!

Ha but for canon- I really like Woljif’s friendship with both Seelah and Daeran. Despite their differences he and Seelah have such a good time together, talking about cons and tavern songs, they’re a fun pair! And it’s fun to imagine Woljif and Daeran after the game, traveling around and causing trouble on their own time.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Ok, I did just say I like his and Daeran’s friendship- but I really hate that one banter where Daeran jokes about throwing coins on the ground and making Woljif bark like a dog??

I mean, it’s in character for Daeran; that’s the kind of shit he likes to say. But it’s weird to me that Woljif has so little of a reaction to that, especially when we see him get worked up over being looked down on in other circumstances.

And I’ll admit, part of the reason is bothers me so much is how many people I saw react to it like it was a ‘haha hilarious’ moment and not a ‘Daeran wtf’ moment

Anyway. A less salty one is that I really like how his bad ending is written! This one is just unpopular because not many do it- understandable, it does hurt my heart a lot. But the characterization is so good, they manage to give him a personality that is really different from his good ending while still being very Woljif, and that’s impressive!

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Honestly there’s not much. The nice thing about pwotr is that it’s long enough to fit a ton of character stuff, and there’s really not much I can think to add. It is a shame they didn’t get to making him a canonical romance option, so I’ll go with that- I’d be so interested to see what they had planned for that!

What made you ship it? Honestly it's just the antagonism. I'd like to read some UST into it. Also, while I believe Shen Yuan is narratively the best person for Luo Binghe (on account of him caring so much about LBH and about him having a good story), I think from Luo Binghe's pov, he just needed someone to step in at the right moment and care for him. I like to entertain an au idea of LQG being in the wrong place at the right time and blundering into stopping LBH from being abused, leading to LBH's lifelong obsession with his Shishu.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Literally the enmity. Being at each other's throats for five years, fighting over a dead man, does something to a person.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Idk what's unpopular since I haven't spent much time on just these two. I think if it weren't for sqq, these two wouldn't need much to warm up to each other? At least from Luo Binghe's end. He values loyalty and strength. Liu Qingge is a harder nut to crack imo. It would depend on the circumstances.

What made you ship it? From the little fanwork I've seen, I think it could be viable and fun.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Mostly just Shang Qinghua finding more stability among the peak lords and being taken care of. Having someone on his side who is explicitly loyal to him and cares about him more overtly. Idk how things fall that Liu Qingge would end up taking on that role, but I believe it could happen.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Not really, because I haven't explored this ship much.

Mobing Don’t Ship It

Why don’t you ship it? I just see these guys as coworkers/friends, but not even super close friends. Binghe is kind of a young upstart/apprentice to Mobei-jun, and I just struggle to see Mobei going for that??

What would have made you like it? Probably a talented fic author. I'm willing to read any ship, and I think if an author set things up such that Mobei sees in Binghe some of the parts he's attracted to in SQH, but in like early PIDW canon, I could be invested. Beyond fanwork, I think maybe if canon showed them interacting a bit more, that would have helped.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? There's loyalty, there's hot guys, there's committing atrocities together. I can see why people ship it for sure.

Jiuyuan Don’t Ship It

Why don’t you ship it? I think I just struggle to see it conceptually? It's hard for me to reckon with Shen Yuan falling for someone who hurt Binghe. That said, I still enjoy some fancontent for it. AU stuff can be really creative in a way that makes me enjoy it on occasion, but I tend to gravitate towards canon compliant or canon divergence type fics.

What would have made you like it? Honestly, outside of enjoying fanwork and aus about, I can't really think of something that could be changed about the canon, that would have made me invested. Maybe if Shen Yuan was at all haunted by Shen Jiu's corpse, that would be really zesty, but would also have changed a lot about the story. I'd def read an au about that though.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? I do think that Shen Yuan comes to have very mixed feelings about the previous SQQ, and could be persuaded to care for him more than pity him. In an au, I can see this being a basis for something. I don't think that something would necessarily be healthy, but are any of the pairings in this book? I think an au where they're both inhabiting the body together could be a really fun way of smooshing them together where they have to become wholly invested in each other.

How I feel about L: hhhhh sigh. hhh. sighhhshhshsiigggh. honestly? he's kind of like my favourite jumper. he's my number one comfort character ever and I came very close to crying in bed for days after he died. i am not 'typical about this man.

How I feel about Matsuda: he's such a cutie!! teehee!!! look at this silly fella who probably cuts his own hair!! giggling and kicking my feet cause he's funny and silly and would be a good friend doncha think?

All the people I ship romantically with L: Matsuda, Misa, Rie, other people's OCs (if they're shipped with him by their creator xD). Light deserves a mention because while I don't ship LawLight romantically I do think they're an iteration of the "red thread" trope because no matter what time, no matter what place, they'll write history together with a pen filled with their own blood in place of ink. that said I was genuinely surprised that so many people ship them just because I don't see it at all. I don't hate it, there's just nothing that clicks for me when looking at L and Light.

All the people I ship romantically with Matsuda: mostly just L, I've seen Matsu + Misa stuff but I think they'd be cuter friends.

My non-romantic OTP for L: Light 100%. You can't have one without the other. I can't explain all my thoughts about them without a whole post dedicated to it, but anyway, Light is my answer.

My non-romantic OTP for Matsuda: mentioned it above, Misa! They're two sillies and they're both :3 so they're besties and they've probably got matching friendship bracelets.

My unpopular opinion about L: he does eat normal food on a semi-regular basis. specifically, meat, usually I think steak. I hc him as anemic but also Watari wouldn't let L die or become malnourished and there's important things in food that you can't necessarily get in vitamins or tablets. and actually, as someone with anemia, I think L would actually have really strong cravings for rare or medium rare red meat when his iron is low and thus when he eats it he enjoys it.

My unpopular opinion about Matsuda: He's actually really smart, especially with humanities subjects. Just doesn't have great detective skills. A different career path may have been beneficial but he actually really believes in justice, probably more so than L and Light, and he actually QUESTIONS his own sense of justice which leads to more balance. he's such a great guy.

One thing I wish had happened with L in canon: he survived. and actually, I'd just really like to see him solve lots of cases. idk how many/if any he solved outside the anime but you know. a side series where he solves cases and explores the world and has tea parties with Watari would melt my heart.

One thing I wish had happened with Matsuda in canon: honestly I just wish we got to see more of him in general. I wish we got deeper into his character - into everyone's character, actually, they're all a little 2D and it's not just the animation - but yeah. more Matsu. how he works.

My L OTP: I'm not sure if I can pick one HAHAHHS I love all his relationships (well, my headcanons for them) from platonic to father and son to mentor and mentee to enemies together to lovers. yeah. I just like L LMAO but maybe Matsu. hm idk. I hear some people ship him with BB or Naomi and I wanna look into that.

My Matsuda OTP: lowkey L and Matsuda are one of my favourite ships. in Matsu's case I don't really ship him with anyone else so this is the only answer. some of you might have noticed that in my headcanons Matsuda plays Pokémon Go! and L is a Pokémon fan too... hmm... How I feel about this character: My monstrous little card game fella who I love SO much. Came into my house and kicked me in the ribs by being the actual textbook example of the "Aw! What a silly little guy!" to "He's a little bit fucked up actually" pipeline. I love how absolutely insane and messy he's allowed to be for a main character, not only did most of his arcs hit FAR too close to home, but it's just such a good example of how to take the archetypal plucky protag and deconstruct it a bit to add layers to the character. My second favorite yugioh character of all time, if I'm being subjective, my #1 fave if I'm being objective. Levels of queer neurodivergent swag I aspire to match.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I just can't deny Jaden his funky southern rock boyf. I read him as somewhere on the ace spectrum, in a QPR with Jesse/Johan that all their friends assume is a traditional romantic relationship. Also, Yusei Fudo, because I am a sucker for narrative parallels, celestial imagery, stupid aces with the social skills of a tennis shoe.

My non-romantic otp for this character: I think he and Chazz have this relationship where Chazz gets up in the night, goes down to his kitchen, flips on the lights, and Jaden is just there eating his cereal. They are BEST FRIENDS and Chazz will not admit this even if you put a gun to his head.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Man, I wish we'd gotten more time with Yubel, but I never really got the feeling that Jaden felt any strong romantic/partner emotions towards them. Him choosing to fuse with Yubel is less a "And I will now give up everything for you, my One True Soulmate", and more just a simple acknowledgement of "You've been hurt really horribly because of me, so I'm offering you kindness and accepting responsibility for our relationship, because you don't deserve to be in pain" Which, personally, I think is a lot more impactful and fulfilling of his personal arc.

One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: I kinda wish he hadn't actually graduated high school? I mean, obviously they would never do that, but I remember watching the final season and thinking "Yeah, there's no way he's going to graduate." Idk, he's just got Highschool Dropout energy to me and I almost wanted to see that. Let him fail out of school because he was too busy sorting out his mental health! That's very valid of him!

Crow Hogan

How I feel about this character: Trans king! I look at one picture of Crow and my brain just maxes out "Trans! Bird! Guy!" He commits crime. He has five kids. He literally named himself after a yugioh card. There's just so much good big bro energy in this funky dude. I would trust him with my life.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Uh, probably no one? There's not really any named character in the series I feel he had romantic chemistry with. He and Broder probably dated for a bit then broke up and remained friends.

My non-romantic otp for this character: The first ep. he was introduced and we actually see Yusei smile for almost the first time all series and duel and have fun with it, the big hug and the way each others face lights up when they see each other for the first time in years. Your honor, they are very important.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He's older than Yusei. Yeah I don't care what canon says, Yusei is the family Babey and Crow is a full six months older than him.

One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: Some more exploration on what Crow gaining his signer mark actually meant to him. Did he feel like a replacement? What exactly did it mean to him that the tail mark jumped to him just so the head could move to Yusei? He's kind of the only one who doesn't get a whole plotline on how they feel about being a signer, so I always feel like there's some untapped potential for an arc there.

Okay so I’m the anon with an unpopular hofas opinion.

What Hunt went through in the dungeons was terrible and the fact that he had to go through it twice was exponentially worse. However when he told Bryce that he didn’t want to do it anymore, respectfully, what did the readers want her to do.

They’re in the middle of the war, both of them are wanted across the entire country they can’t exactly just go home and pretend nothing happened. She was incredibly insensitive but like it’s a little late to say that you want to quit now, they have to finish what they started. She was stressed out about a million other things, it’s understandable that she wasn’t in the best head space to be comforting to him atm. She can’t just pull out and go home it’s too late.

Like I said Ik she’s insensitive but she’s trying to lead a rebellion. Idk I just feel like people are vilifying her so much for that. I don’t think she’s a bad mate. Also people are saying she’s terrible for not communicating when Aelin does the exact same thing. Like idk just give my girl some grace

I think it would've been nice if she showed some grace and could understand where hunt was coming from instead of talking to him like he's the scum beneath her sky-high heels. like yeah, i think they all knew that there wasn't really a choice, but i think hunt deserved a chance to explain his fears to his MATE. lol i'm probably the wrong person to tell this to because i'm a bryce hater since day one but i'm trying For Bryce to start keeping things from others in BOOK 3 is what's getting me. Like yeah, aelin did the same thing, but that's ALWAYS been her personality. Bryce hasn't been like this, she's too much of a snarky loudmouth to have ever kept secrets, so why is it starting in the third book? that's what's confusing me tbh.

how i feel about this character -

tbh i don't have quite as many super strong opinions on nine, i think cos we don't see him for quite as long, but i still really really like him hehe. he's often portrayed as the grumpy one which isn't exactly inaccurate but also i feel like he gets a bad rap for just not being as immediately likeable yknow? even though he does still laugh & joke around he's far less emotionally vulnerable & quick to get to 'you humans are all stupid', even in his first episode, although some of this is probably a self-defence, having literally just destroyed gallifrey which is, yknow, a massively traumatic thing to happen, & he hasn't had a companion for a bit, & in any case is just a bit more sarcastic than other regenerations. but also you know that feels deeply he just tries to cover it up. but also truly no one is doing it like the ninth doctor, some of the stuff he does (telling a dalek to kill itself) like ten wouldn't say that unless he was really at the end his tether yknow? but also the absolute joy at the end of the doctor dances!! 'every body lives rose! just this once everybody lives!!' and telling the kid 'pop music in 20 years you're gonna love it!' and his smile is so fun hehe he really does just :D & he has some really wonderful funny bits as well hehe. also he has THEE BEST leather jacket

imo all the nuwho doctors are some variation on aroace & i really Really don't see him in a romantic relationship with rose (or jack. though the would be a little bit fun hehe) but i feel like nine is the kind of person who, had he been allowed more time in that regeneration would slowly start to feel both romantic & sexual attraction. just that in the situation he's in, The Horrors are kind of more immediate things to deal with. like he just doesn't have time for that. also he probably thinks that anyone who gets to close to him will die horribly which is why he's a bit brusque. but yeah if he'd been allowed more chill time without the Horrors & time to process Everything he would be gradually more accepting of his own attraction to people and willing to do something about that. just where he's at he simply doesn't feel attraction & it doesn't even cross his mind that that's an option.

my best idea is the substitute almost starts the skinning process and is suddenly interupted by the dino prof or shane (although shane probably wouldnt stop the substitute lol)

unpopular opinion!! but i dont think the window is gonna be used for anything!! i think it was there to be vaugely threatening to ryan and to give a smooth transition from the substitute to the professor hatching in dino times. i can see the idea of someone getting thrown out the window (either ryan or the substitute during that amazing fight scene) but idk! i just dont feel like thats gonna happen! 🤷‍♀️

god i HOPE the dino professor gets to show off his dino strength!! i think most of us want to see a professor vs substitute fight lmao.
