❍ ‗ Sharing a flight with skz ‗ ❍

Pairings : OT8 X gn reader (Bang Chan x reader, Lee Know x Reader, Changbin x reader, Hyunjin x reader, Han x reader, Felix x reader, Seungmin x reader, IN x reader)

Genre/warnings : none :)

Summary : How I think the Stray Kids members would be like during a flight with their s/o

Word count : 2.5k

A/n : Just a silly little idea that came to my head as someone who's had her fair share of long and shorter/lonely and non flights. Very random but still hope you enjoy!

Chan ‗ ❍

Chan would absolutely be all giddy and excited about this vacation, but most of all to be able to spend time with his s/o.

You two would spend a lot of the time talking and discussing the trip, especially on the colture of the place and maybe try to learn a few words of the language!

Also, organization is a key word, for sure. He mentioned how he hates to not have things under control and prepared whenever he has to do something, so. You would probably already have a list, if not a whole routine prepared for each day.

You would also remind yourselves to not overdo it, or else it will become like a work trip. Mentioning work, you also made him promise to leave his job alone and get his mind off of it while you're on vacation.

During the flight you would watch something together, probably lighthearted like a romcom or an animated movie. You would also share earphones to stay even closer to each other, lovebirds

At some point you will have to rest though, and if you're lucky you'll end up hugging and napping quietly together. But If you were to fall asleep before him though, he would try to sneak out his laptop and work on his music, still making sure to have you close. Maybe hugging you to his chest with one arm, or even just reaching out to play absentmindedly with your hair (or ears, you know how he does it). He'd be the type to raise the armrest between you two to be more comfortable.

You would scold him (lovingly ofc) when you wake up but he'd defend himself saying that he had nothing else to do so might as well do something useful. You'd forgive him on the condition that he would get some sleep later :(

Minho ‗ ❍

I'm not a hundred percent sure if his fear of heights also impacts his mood during a flight, but regardless I lowkey think that he would make everything in his power to make the time pass faster. Also most probably would avoid the window seat or keep the lid shut.

He wouldn't be the most talkative in general I think, considering that you were sharing the space with strangers. He would rather sleep or watch something to distract himself, Something that he either has already seen and loves which will keep him entertained, or maybe something new that could get him interested/hooked.

He would absolutely have snacks in his bag regardless of the airline serving food on board. Especially if you had any favorites or happened to be a bit picky with food.

Yes I feel like he would definetly be quieter than usual, but it's okay because you understand him and don't really mind as soon as he's comfortable.

Would definitely let you sleep on him, but wouldn't want to mess with the security belt or make any changes with the seats. Just to be sure. Something that he would do though is trying to make you as comfortable as possible; folding a jacket in a spoecific way to make a pillow, or straight up bringing one with him, would allow you to put your legs over his, make sure that the headrest isn't uncomfortable for your neck and so on.

You, on the other hand, would also try your best to get him to relax and spend the flight peacefully. When the plane does land though, he'd start smiling and be in such an hilariously good mood that you couldn't help but laugh at him, teasing him just a bit for being so previously anxious.

Changbin ‗ ❍

Changbin would make the most of it. Literally. He would be absolutely delighted to enjoy what he essentially considers a few hours of rest. I feel like he's one of those people that would ask for food seconds or multiple refills for drinks, use every single one of the freebies that are offered by the airline like a sleeping mask, blanket, pillow, headphones.

Of course he would have his own stuff too but he would just refused to use them. He'd look at you with his arms behind his head, a raised eyebrow "This flight costed more than my left arm, might as well enjoy it" then he'd smile at you going "Relax, baby"

Would absolutely be knocked out after an hour in the air. I don't know, he just seems someone that values his sleep and even more when he has the chance to take a break. Also because he'd probably get hyperactive as soon as you landed.

He's the type to recline the seat (still respectfully ofc) and literally make his own little improvised bed to have the nap of a lifetime, even better if he has someone to hug.

Other than that though I feel like you would also be talking a lot about the vacation, telling each other the different places that you wanted to visit. The conversation would change direction about ten times though, because you just enjoy each other's company so much that you end up spending hours just chatting and laughing.

Changbin would probably be very phyisical, even in small things. And a gentleman at the same time. For example; Standing up to let you pass whenever you had to get up from your seat, keeping a hand at the small of your back when you walked, always lets you go first when walking/entering a car/going up the stairs.

Hyunjin ‗ ❍

Hyunjin is someone who I imagine would be pretty chill on a plane. He would have to keep himself entertained in some way though, for sure. So if he's not sleeping for most of the time (by choice, I think) he's definetly keeping his mind busy. I truly think that he would despise to get bored.

You would make conversation about your trip and especially the places that you planned on visiting. Museums and touristic places would be at the top of the list. He probably already looked them all up already and has plans on specific photos to take once he gets there.

I think that it would be likely for you two to watch a movie together. Something pretty serious like a drama or a romantic movie. Regardless of the movie being good or bad it would absolutely spark conversation, even more so if the people involved made some pretty questionable things throughout the movie, then the topics could go on for hours.

He would also most probably have a little sketchbook with him and a couple of pencils, just to practice, scribble or try to capture something interesting to him. I imagine him sliding it your way, silently asking you to play silly games, like tic tac toe, the hangman and so on.

If you were also an artist or someone that likes to play around with drawing a bit, I can imagine you two working on different things quietly for a while and then showing it to each other.

I'm not sure of how much of a cuddler he would be in this case, but he would do some small pda especially when it's just the two of you in your seats. Like playing with your hand or fingers, pecking your cheek/head/temple, or playing with your hair.

Overall I think that it would be a super relaxing experience, just really fun and wholesome :'')

Jisung ‗ ❍

Han is another one who is afraid of heights so I think similarly to Minho for the whole seat placement thing. But,,, maybe he would still want to peek at the sky every once in a while. Maybe.

He is also someone who would be pretty quiet and reserved in these type of 'public' places, but he'd instantly get way more relax when he is seated next to whoever he's with.

You would have some casual conversation about your trip but mostly I think that he would be someone that just wants to relax as much as possible. He wouldn't want to be 'tied' to busy schedules or too many planned things, he'd go 'with the flow'. But again you would definetly talk about how happy you are to be together and be able to have some fun in a new place.

Could go from very talkative to a comfortable silence. You could easily do two different things but still interact once in a while, for example you could be reading a book and he could be watching a movie (I think something intense? Like a drama or a thriller/horror movie) and suddenly you'd hear him gasp softly at a plot twist and when you look up he would be looking at you with an overdramatic expression, making you laugh.

Very likely to share earphones or a playlist to listen to the same things at the same time, again while doing different things or maybe playing a game together.

He would definetly be the person to get a coffe refill, get hyperactive for a solid twenty minutes and then fall asleep on you suddenly. He seems to have a thing for laying on people's laps so he could do that, even better if you played gently with his hair or stroked his arm to give that bit of extra comfort. He would definitely do the same for you though, "Of course baby, come here" the unprovoked english (he totally does that, fight me) would make you laugh before he held you in his arms :')

Felix ‗ ❍

One thing that's assured with him is physical contact. I genuinely think that you would constantly be all over each other no matter what you're doing.

But not in a gross/cheesy way like making out and stuff like that, I mean like sleeping on each other, playing with your hands, random small kisses or nuzzling, or simply involuntarily leaning closer or bumping onto each other when you're laughing. Just... touch.

I also think that you would come prepared with things to spend your time with. Like previously downloading games, music, videos and so on. Mainly to listen to/watch together. Doesn't have to be a movie necessarily, it could also be a sepcific youtube video about a topic that you're both interested in, or something along those lines.

He is also someone who I think is gonna be eager to search up places to visit. Photography spots, touristic sites, restaurants, shopping or fashionables streets. He would definetly want to buy something, if anything to have a memory of your vacation.

If you do end up watching something though, I think that he would like something that keeps him in a good mood and maybe have a few laughs over, like an animated movie, a superhero/action movie or a comedy.

Now, nap time would definetly happen and it's gonna be a tangle of limbs that's for sure. Him laying on you or you on him, hugging, heads against each other and all that. Would also definetly raise the armrest to stay closer.

He would definetly keep reminding you how excited he is for this trip, to see new things and places and mainly to spend time with you. I have an half idea that he would lowkey love to match clothing with you, even if in a subtle way, or just to lend you some of his things and maybe you to him? Like a pair of sunglasses, a jacket, jewelery and so on.

His main missions would be spend quality time with you, do lots and lots of photos, buy both you and himself a present and overall enjoy a new place. Cc

Seungmin ‗ ❍

In his case I feel like this trip wouldn't have been planned or chosen for no reason. Wether it was because one of his favoite sports teams were playing a match there, or because maybe that specific period of the year was gonna be special for the country that you were about to visit. Or again, it could be a place that he has already visited when he was a kid, or that he always wanted to visit. Wathever the reason, it must've been something meaningful to him.

This would definelty be a topic of conversation that could get more or less deep depending on the context. Regardless, he would be very excited for the trip and what it would mean to him.

He would also tell you how glas he was that he could share this experience with someone who means a lot to him. "Aw Minnie, so cute" you'd lovingly tease him for being so sweet and he'd roll his eyes trying to hide a smile and the blush of his cheeks.

On the flight itself you wouldn't do anything out of the ordinary. You'd watch a movie or a drama (even better if it's one that you were currently watching) and chill for a couple of hours until it ended or you got bored. You would be both pretty caugh up with the plot so you wouldn't interact much, but you'd definitely be leaning against him comfortably.

After that you would probably sleep for a while, still hugged and maybe sharing a blanket, You'd still try to keep some composure since at the end of the day you weren't in a private place, but other people were around you. I don't see an extreme amount of pda coming from Seungmin in public, if any at all.

After waking you'd ask for a hot drink, could be coffe or something else, but he would definelty ask for an americano. You'd make small talk comfortably and even before you realized it it would be time to land and for your special trip to begin, and for him to make new memories to write down in his diary.

Jeongin ‗ ❍

Innie seems like a person who also enjoys pretty things and having fun. So the destination would have to reflect that. I think that he would like to pick a big metropolitan city where he could find anything and everything.

He looks like the person that would want to make many experiences; from trying new foods, walk around pretty streets, the fashion district, some historical monuments, restaurants and cafés and overall have a relaxing time. He would probably want to take lots of pictures and make some nice memories, but nothing further than that.

You would talk a lot about it during your flight in a generalistic manner, joking around a lot and just having fun. He also seems to be the type to be keeping to himself with strangers and as a result wouldn't be big on pda either. At most he would allow you to lean on him to rest.

With Jeongin I'm not totally sure if he would even be down to watch something in the first place. I see him more as a chilling and listening to music type. He would just close his eyes and enjoy his own playlists to spend the time, or ASMRs if he wanted to simply relax or sleep for a while.

Overall he wouldn't throughtly enjoy the flight itself because he would get bored and pretty annoyed that he can't move around, so I think that his mood would improve a lot when you actually land.

Bro, the noise I just made. I literally cannot stand the fanon for Stiles or Derek. It is so so soooo bad, I think these people literally have only seen the 2 hour sterek compilation. Every day I am like "who fucking told you people that Derek never smiles and has no sense of humor?"

Stiles gets turned into this big eyed, kitten twink who wouldn't dare to misbehave because he's the sheriff's son (the kid who gets drunk in the WOODS, and gets his dad drunk so he can steal casefiles!!)

Derek like... He is either completely useless and cannot dress himself for a date without fanon!Laura (do not get me started) telling him what to do, or he is so emotionally repressed and damage that he can barely handle someone kissing him without him falling to pieces.

LIKE. Derek smiles. Derek makes jokes!! Derek laughed at Stiles right before the pool scene. Derek knows how to use a cellphone and a laptop. Derek is a goddamn millenial, he knows what grumpy cat is. He knows he's hot, he has a mirror!!

Also... the man lived in New York fucking City. He's not afraid of crowds or talking to people or making out, he uses sex to get his way (Erica and the deputy at the front desk!!)

like, there's a period of fics that are usually from the s1-2 period that lean pretty hard on derek's dark, brooding and grumpiness from season 1 but of course he was like that. he was going through The Horrors during season 1. he was grieving laura, he was being retraumatized by kate and dealing with scott, stiles and fucking jackson.

he wasn't one dimensional though. his anger was a mask for all the fear, confusion and trying to be in control.

do you know how many fics i've read where people have stiles think about all the apparent physical violence derek has done to stiles as if he's always slamming him into surfaces? way too many to count and it's incorrect. off the top of my head i can count 3 times derek did something like that to stiles. the shove into the wall and slam into the steering wheel in wolf's bane both of which had a point to them. whether or not it was a good emotional response doesn't matter. what matters is that they were not random or part of derek's personality. he didn't just shove stiles into things every time he saw him. the wall shove in s4 with de-aged derek was a deliberate call back to that very instance in wolf's bane. it was literally coupled with the whole cousin miguel bit.

fandom doesn't like to acknowledge that derek hale isn't particularly violent over the course of the show. he hardly even wins the fights he engages in and he is often forced into fights knowing he cannot win.

our boy mostly ends up on the fucking floor.

derek also does make jokes. dry ones usually he thinks they are hilarious too. he thinks he's a funny guy. his dad joke game must've been off the charts, sorry eli.

he and stiles trade barbs a lot and he thinks stiles is funny. stiles amuses him and he indulges it a few times. he shows off to stiles too like a loser.

he likes to fuck with scott and stiles and enjoys taking the piss out of peter. he genuinely enjoyed fucking with liam in s4.

he's not a luddite either. he has a cellphone and we see him use it. i bet he plays games on it. i bet he plays candy crush and words with friends.

and fanon evolved to strip away that stiles is an asshole. he a violent little freak. he threatens people, he expresses regularly his desire to kill people or have them die, he cares about a very small selection of people in his life and if you're not in that circle than god be with your ass because stiles most definitely won't.

he loves and respects his father but this doesn't mean stiles respects the law which is why i don't know why the law enforcement route was chosen for him. stiles hates rules and boundaries. he chafes at them.

stiles casually helps kira and scott break into evidence to get her cell phone. he tells scott's fbi agent father to fuck himself. he got his dad drunk to get access to case files. he copies people's keys. he's a nosy shit.

the whole show started because stiles was a nosy punk kid who wanted to see a dead body.

but i digress.

fanon stiles had a lot of scott's characteristics projected onto him so they could bash scott. i know there's a lot of people who don't like scott which is fine or whatever but there are so many that do it so they can make a pinata out of a character they've extracted all the good points from and give to their favorite little white boy fav.

stiles "i will beat you with a bat" stilinski is a freaky little shit who will bite you.

do you know how hard i laughed when in s3 stiles and isaac genuinely just like could not stand each other? they couldn't be in the same room with out insulting one another and it was the complete opposite of stiles being oh so sensitive to isaac's past and history than straight up in 3b stiles the epitome of insensitive says to isaac something about still milking it (his abuse). stiles is a dick.

i also genuinely have umbrage with the pack mom trope that stiles gets saddled with. the way fandom has oft feminized stiles leaves a bad taste in my mouth too.

derek and stiles are both assholes and i love them very much.

Middle School Classroom Management Tips

We all know that classroom management courses in teacher prep programs are worthless 99% of the time. These are some things I've learned in 7 years of teaching 8th grade that work for me.

The Teacher Look. My middle schoolers HATE it when you just hold direct eye contact silently. You don't need to look mean or angry, just slightly stern and hold eye contact. You don't say, "I'll wait" or anything, just look at them. You can change the look around as well, ranging from definitely more stern and strict to one of, "yeah you're being hilarious and amusing, but we have to stop now", to a "look at your choices please". One of my personal favorites is a slight rising of a single eyebrow, a tilt of the head, and resting my face on folded hands.

Seats. This is probably going to be unpopular, but I let my students pick their seats on the first day. I then tell them that they can keep these seats as long as they work, however if I need to make a seating chart, I will. I also make it a competition between my classes about which class will go the longest without making a seating chart. It also allows you to see the natural dynamics of the class and who does and doesn't work well together.

Non-verbal communication. From facial expressions to gestures to even the way you stand or sit or WHERE you position yourself in the classroom. The kids hear teachers scold and yell at them all the time so they don't really care about that (a lot of kids find the yelling funny), so if you can use non-verbal communication or a very low and slow voice, they actually will listen because it's not what they're used to. This works especially well on a rowdy class that is not used to quiet because it's so different from anything else.

Consistency and fairness. Middle schoolers have a very strong sense of right and wrong/fair and unfair and will notice if you treat students differently. If I have a classroom expectation that if a kid is messing around on their laptop when they should do work and the consequence of that is doing a paper assignment and losing laptop privileges for the rest class, you have to follow that for EVERY kid. I don't care if that kid is normally a perfect angel, they still broke the expectation and deserves the consequence.

Explaining. I always give a reason why. "No, you can't go to the bathroom because Becky is out." "This assignment needs to be done without your notes so you can practice on your own and I can see what you know and don't know." "No eating in my class because the wrappers and crumbs end up on the floor and attract bugs." Most of the time if kids understand the reason for something, they're much more likely to follow it.

Clear and specific directions. Make your directions very clear and exactly what you want. If you're tired of getting, "Can I go to the bathroom?" when you ask if there's any questions, say, "What questions might you have about the assignment?" If a student who likes to get off topic raises their hand to ask a question, I like to ask, "Is this question directly related to what we're talking about?" A lot of the time that causes them to pause, think about their question, and most of the time we avoid getting off topic.

Allow talking and jokes and movement. The vast majority of the time, my students can talk and move around my classroom. As long as they aren't disrupting other students and getting their work done, go ahead and chit chat. There are specific times when they aren't allowed to talk, but other than that it's pretty chill.

Listening. A lot of the time kids will talk to you about their other teachers. Listen to what they say, as long as it doesn't turn into teacher bashing. I've learned a lot about what works with my students by hearing about how they react to their other teachers. I shut down teacher bashing, but if a kid has a valid concern/frustration OR they really like something another teacher does, why not take that into consideration? You don't tell the kid you're changing it because they brought it up, but file it away.

Apologize/recognize you make mistakes. Not only does it show you're human, it shows the kids you respect them AND it models appropriate behavior. I've noticed that kids in my classes are a lot more likely to apologize to both me and the other kids because they see me do it. Also, if you mess up with an adult you'd apologize, so why wouldn't you apologize to a kid??

Genuine and sincere. Don't try to bullshit kids, don't try to be someone you're not, and show the students you really care about them. For example, by the time the "bad" kids get to middle school, they know they're labeled that and they know the drill about teachers falsely praising them for even raising their hands. They know it's fake, they don't care, and it's insulting. A lot of the time those kids want to be treated like every other kid, so if they're behaving as they should, I treat them the same way I treat the other kids doing the same thing. I might tell them quietly, "Good job working hard today" as they leave, but I'm not going to fawn over them and turn it into an over the top project.

So yeah, those are my top 10 classroom management tips. Hopefully they can help someone!

Lol, I'm short (and petite 😭 like a whole kid out here) but proud! PSA: I love tall daddies. Therefore, Joker is written at least 6'0ft. Y/n is however tall you are since I write for reader insert. So yeah, he's towering over us girl. Buckle up!

Joker is forever making fun of your short stature in comparison to his. Its both endearing and annoying. Its not your fault your mixed genetics robbed you in the height department but he doesn't have to rub it in every day..

His favorite hobby is to move things in the apartment well out of your reach. J doesn't like you climbing counters and etc. to grab things and prefers if you call him to get it for you. It strokes his ego that he's providing for you. Keep in mind that he created the problem in the first place!

Cups, boxes of cereal, the tv remote (?), even your laptop-- nothing is safe from being stolen and tucked away 'safely' out of your reach. Oh the irony.. Joker thinks it absolutely hilarious when you get frustrated and try to grab things by yourself.

"Awwww is my wittle bunny too short? Need some help?" You flip him off and try to grab whatever he stashed away. You almost had it!! He just laughs and shamelessly enjoys the show. Your butt jiggles each time you jump and Joker can watch it shake all night.. that is until you trip and lose your balance.

Then he's rushing over to catch you before you break something and/or hurt yourself. "Easy there doll. All ya had to do was uhh, ask for helP." He hands over whatever you almost broke your neck for with a lopsided grin. God, you love this annoying clown.

Thankfully there are instances where you get payback for Joker being taller. Low clearance areas are your favorite since you get to watch J clip his head and laugh at him when he grumbles in pain.

Watching him squeeze into a tight space (he's more mindful of the places he drags you into for a quickie) is hilarious since he's all arms and legs whereas you are in your element.

The height difference is so comical that Mac and Neo have joked about your stellar climbing skills. It's clearly a sexual innuendo and Joker gave them the death glare for it. They haven't joked about your height since. Mac gifted you hiking boots in secret with a card that read, "Enjoy climbing Mt. Joker." You can't bring yourself to wear them. You must admit; you are an excellent climber..

Joker loves to rest his arm on your head or pat your braids like you're a puppy. It irks your soul and he learned the hard way that you are short and therefore closer to his balls. You punch them in retaliation every time he treats you like a kid.

You like bringing Joker down to your level. Literally.

A plus in being shorter than J is that you tuck adorably into his side. No matter how much your weigh, he's picking you up and tossing you around because, "You're uhh, fun size Y/n!" That applies in and out of the bedroom. The two of you snap together like the perfect puzzle piece.

But despite all the teasing Joker makes about your height, he loves being your protector. He's the one you run to if something is bigger and scarier. He's the tall, murderous bf, that'll scare off anything or anyone for his Bunny. It’s a new concept to be a savior and Joker isn't complaining.

You'll never get used to being hit on. You get it; you’re very beautiful with your lighter complexion and the way you carry yourself.

Men and women are always hitting on you but normally after you utter the words, "I'm spoken for" they go away but this guy is rather persistent.

Years ago he would be your type. Tall, athletic, and cocky with white teeth and oozing lightskin fboy vibes. He was definitely the quarterback in high school and wears gold chains with black turtlenecks. The single Y/n would have your fun and kick him to the curb before he broke your heart. However you were happily involved with Gotham City's most infamous criminal who would literally kill anyone that dared to take away what was his.

You were doing this guy a favor trying to turn him down but the second he grabbed your arm and insisted you go on a date with him, you knew, he f__cked up.

"Let go."

"Nah just one date ma. You'll love it so just say yes. A dinner, a lil talking, then I'll take you home n' sweat your weave out." He grinned.

You arched an eyebrow at him assuming your hair was fake but before you could open your mouth, a shadow fell over the two of you. Your persistent suitor rolled his eyes and glared at the newbie.

"Is there a problem?" He asked Joker.

Joker's left eye twitched as he glare at this pathetic stain touching you. J wore a mask to conceal his identity yet his scowl was evident. "Is he hurtin' you doll?" Joker asked you.

You shook your head no but that wasn't enough to save a life.

J pointedly eyed the hands holding you until the guy wisely let you go. If he hadn't, Joker had no issue removing them by force.

You hid behind Joker's towering frame and vanished, you were so short. Joker made sure you were safe behind him before focusing on the idiot.

"Uh yes. Lots of errr problems. Let's see.. You talked to my bunny, you touched my bunny, and the worsT of all. You. Made. Her. Uncomfortable. Its been ten hours since I killed someone. I'd hate to break my errr record.."

The guy must've understood that Joker was serious for he backed away with his hands up. "Listen man I didn't know she was your girl. Have at it, I'm out."

Joker waited until the guy left before he turned around to check on you. "You good?"

J wasn't expecting you to hug him so tightly. Your head barely came to his chest and for once you didn't get offended when Joker patted your head. "Say the wo~oooord and he's dead, Y/n."

You laughed and stared up into Joker's eyes. "Don't break your record, J." You tapped your lips, making Joker furrow his brow.

"What? Ya wanna kiss?" You nodded and Joker made a noise. "I dunno Bunny. If ya can't reach my lips.... do ya deserve a kiss? Maybe if you were hehe.. taller?"

Playboyy EP1 - "Sex is about everyone"

PART 1

okey, let's get it:

The fountain a la WAP really fits the show, ain't going to lie.

Something tells me that Zouy liked/likes Nant, idk why. Like, they are showing us that Zouy and Nant were pretty close and Nant was definetly a safe space for Zouy for everything, sex talk included. September 15th, 2022 - what was your wish, Zouy?

"Pacebook". I love this show, I swear. Now, the video is posted on the 18th although the video is from a year ago, but also: First's comment asking "where are you? are you coming to class?" was made 2 weeks ago. So... Nant went missing at the beginning of 3rd year.

as I said before, hilarious that Zouy and Jade share the same laptop, "Deadline is faster than Karma" is the true collegue/uni experience!

The parallels to OF are strong but I'm not going to go deep into it. A little tmi: I'm a virgin, I'm not ashame of it and never will be. On contrary to Zouy (and Mew) I'm lucky to have friends since my high school years that never cared neither pressured me into changing this about me. As everyone fuckin should. And that's the commentary both shows are doing on this. But we are going to focus on Playboyy here. Zouy pointing out that Porche, Captain and First being so on the nose about each others sex lifes is the reason Nant went missing, is a really valid point. This group probably met each other on 1st year, so at 18 years old. That's still an age were you can easily sucumb to pressure from your "friends" whom are just giving "friendly advice", while you are trying to "fit in". But it can get you into serious trouble. Porsche, Captain and First are finding out now that their "harmless" behaviour can lead to bad things happening to others only because these others (Nant and Zouy) wanna "fit in" with the group with them.

Feeling all those eyes on you, even if they are "friendly", is a heavy burden.

Now, the whole scene with Jump was highly amusing at the begining, but when it came the time to be Jump and Zouy to be alone, it was painful to watch for the same reason I just talked about but also gives us more insight on Zouy's relationship with sex: he's not ready to get physical yet but he still gets horny like the rest of the lads in this household (everyone is horny 24/7, I love them)

baby boy was so out of his element, come here, let me wrap you in a blankie. is okey.

Now, I must say: Him asking Jump to pose like Rose in Titanic IS FUCKIN HILARIOUS. PEAK ART CLICHÉ. He really said "I want to paint you like one of my french girls" and I almost busted a lung laughing.

I feel like this is some random model drawing, not Nant. But I could be wrong.

Another moment that knocked the air out of my lungs: Porche and Captain walking on Zouy and First. CAN WE PLEASE START LOCKING THE FUCKIN DOORS? DIDN'T WE LEARNED FROM VENUS IN THE SKY?!

This "punishment" is not effective at all but deeply amusing.

Zouy comments again how uncomfortable this makes him and I feel so sorry for him. I know the rest are just trying "to help" but they are not helping at all. Their behaviour got Nant into trouble in the first place and Zouy clearly doesn't wanna end like him as well...

Now, the demon @respectthepetty has teached us well about color and I wanna point out:

Zouy's backack is yellow... and so is Teena's bike

Also, lowkey introducing us to Keen. Captain gets so distracted side-eyeing him that he ends up bumping into Puen. And it adds another problem: the rich kids don't like the scholarship students.

They know what they are doing...

Melone Headcanons

In no particular order, here’s some HCs for the Amazing Melon Man!

He grew up in an upper-middle class family, with both parents in the picture and two sisters (he was the middle child). His parents were somewhat emotionally distant with their children, but tried to make up for it by throwing money at their kids (extracurriculars, summer camps, hobbies, etc.)

Melone was often lonely in his childhood, and most of the other kids found him weird. His sisters distanced themselves from him socially as well. He eventually developed a personality of intentionally being strange, but would still crave acceptance.

Melone was interested in science and technology at a young age. He’d spend time flipping through science textbooks, learning coding, and surfing the internet, always searching for more knowledge.

Diagnosed with depression as a teen. Being put on meds didn’t help much, but did fuck with his emotions. He hated them, they made him feel like a zombie. Nowadays, while he still takes care of his health and attends doctor visits regularly and follows his doctor’s orders and suggestions, he has a strong distrust of psychiatric medication.

In college, he studied medicine with a minor in computer science; after joining Passione, he was able to eventually pursue a Master’s in genetics.

While in college, he started falling into a bad crowd, who used him to access drugs and made him feel wanted. In return, they introduced him to ecstasy. He got hooked, and eventually fell into debt with the wrong people. Passione got him out of that mess on the condition he join their ranks. He quickly agreed.

Gaining his stand is sort of a hilarious story in hindsight. With Polpo’s lighter test, the flame was quick to blow out, and he found himself with a mysterious gaping wound. He thought he was dying, only to wake up hours later seemingly unscathed. The only difference was that his laptop now had a body and stared at him expectantly. He did not react well to that…

And his terrified reaction to the apparent ‘monster’ in his room is why he now has a small scar on his chest.

Since joining Passione, he’s dropped contact with his birth family. He sometimes wonders how they’re doing, using his connections to get updates from time to time. He’s somewhat indifferent to them, though; it’s more of a detached curiosity.

On one of his early missions with La Squadra, his eye was sprayed with perfume by a would-be mother, resulting in permanent damage.

Hanging with the team is one of his favorite things to do. While they’re an odd bunch, he gets some sense of family and cameraderie with them that he never had before.

Extensive skin and hair care products, has a nail polish and makeup collection, and regularly has spa nights/gossip sessions with Illuso, and Sorbet and Gelato. He also loves talking products and doing makeovers.

He enjoys video games and board games, but he’ll try to psychoanalyze EVERYTHING. The game? A metaphor about grief. His opponent’s play style? They’re a coward who’s afraid of direct attacks.

His relationship with drugs has improved, but he’s wary of it nowadays. His relationship with alcohol, however, isn’t as good. He’s a sad drunk, and tries not to drink too heavily when he partakes.

However, those moments allow him to drop the “weirdo computer perv” persona and actually be vulnerable and somewhat open about his feelings.

Loves deep conversations. If you pass him the joint, he’s talking your ear off. Good luck, have fun with that!

Loves physical touch, not even just on a sexual level. Platonic and romantic snuggling, fingers through his or their hair, resting his head on someone’s chest… it makes him feel comfy and safe. Many teammates have found themselves acting as Melone’s pillow during a movie night.

He’s flirted with everyone on the team. No one knows for sure if he’s serious or not.

Writing Scraps- Creature’s Comfort

I’ve found as I’ve started writing again that I go through two different openings before finding one that sticks, and I keep those on the doc in case I liked the previous one better.

Because I think these things are neat and it’s not quite the same as posting a sketch dump, I’m gonna share the stuff I don’t use and label them Writing Scraps for easier reference. With that, here’s two intros for an upcoming fic that I didn’t like as much but thought they’d be fun to share.

Opening #1-

Sun Wukong had seen sick mortals before. Seen sick immortals too- he himself had been severely under the weather several times in his very long life. The king could tell when a cold was from natural causes or a curse inflicted on somebody. Sun Wukong had also had front row seats for sicknesses that, to this day, leave him wanting to drag his eyes through dirt as some sort of solace to the disgusting images burned into his brain.

A thought that had only crossed his mind once in the past year was what would happen if his successor-turned-kid got ill, and that potentially disastrous line of intrusive thoughts only came about because MK told him of the cursed meatballs he ate when Wukong was away.

“So, did you actually win anything, or was that stunt purely for bragging rights?” he drawled as he leaned against a recently pulverized rock, one eyebrow quirked in a way that said 'This is hilarious and I am never letting you forget it’.

MK tapped his staff down firmly and squared up his shoulders, looking prouder than he had any right to be. “Well I had to set a new record!” he stated, before the proud stance melted into a more humbled slouch, and his student brought his hand up to rub the side of his face sheepishly. “Definitely not worth the city-shaking hiccups, or making Sandy go on a conveniently timed quest for the cure…”

Opening #2-

Sun Wukong liked keeping the technology he used limited. Not for any “The good old days were better” reasons, because indoor plumbing, WiFi, and video games are easily in his Top 5 list of best innovations and no one will ever pry those from his cold, stone hands.

It was strictly for his privacy. His lawyer had to fight him literally tooth and nail to get another computer- too many instances of people finding his one and only personal email years back had led to some very interesting letters. Letters that some lower deities would consider curses to the eyes for their content.

Because no, Sun Wukong will not be sending pictures of any kind to anyone, he will not look at any pictures his weirder fans send him, and he’d prefer to be stewed alive before he read another story that shared waaaay too much personal information.

Even with those very good reasons presented in a very professional manner to his lawyer, he was shot down.

“Handwritten letters from your Fortress of Solitude take ages to get here Wukong. I’m tired of playing Heavenly Messenger to get your approval for these licenses, Wukong.”. While he could’ve argued with that, after getting a new laptop and seeing how fast communication had gotten with computers, he conceded that it was a solid investment alone for getting his lawyer off his back. Now he just needed to answer those emails.

A laptop, a TV, and a gaming console were all he wanted. It was simple! Three easy outlets to enjoy the near infinite library of digital media, and an avenue for his contacts to message him and be promptly ignored.

Then MK became a part of his life again, almost two years went by, and now he had a phone. Arguments of ‘It’s helpful! We can contact each other without using monkey mind powers! I can send you all my favorite memes!’ wore him down faster than anything. Possibly because the kid also used the underhanded move of the puppy dog face combined with a little guilt tripping. Just dusted on top, like some guilty sugar.

a big thank yee to @kaylinalexanderbooks who tagged me in this thingy! I read your post btw and we share so many things in common I can't believe I haven't asked you to be my best friend sooner :). Anyway, here it is!

Are you named after anyone? Yes, actually. I'm named after my mom's best friend from college who has unfortunately passed away, but she was the best. She and I share the same love for helping people, and I wish that I had gotten to meet her in person.

When was the last time you cried? This afternoon. I've been reading through The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien and it's both one of the best and most depressing books I've read this year.

Do you have kids? Do my pets count? Otherwise nope lol. (although my bearded dragon acts like a child most of the time)

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Ummm...yes. that is my main sense of humor as well as my main coping mechanism (please don't tell my psychiatrist this, she will hunt me down and drag me to therapy).

What's the first thing you notice about people? Definitely their smiles. You can tell a lot about people by the way they smile (if they are forcing it/if they're genuinely happy), and it helps me know how to help them/how they are feeling. I'm also apparently scarily perceptive of people and have the ability to see through people even when they seem like a brick wall to others so that helps I guess lol.

What's your eye color? Dark brown

Scary movies or happy endings? Definitely happy endings. Even as old as I am in my early 20s, scary movies make me want to cry lol. I love a good happy ending :).

Any special talents? I'm in the process of being the first sci-fi fantasy author in my family so I guess that counts? I also am known as the animal whisperer in my friend group (a whole ass deer family came up to me once while I was eating a sandwich and I got to pet them and it was nice lol), and my presence attracts all the little hobgoblin animals and its hilarious.

Where were you born? central Illinois unfortunately. ever heard of Champaign-Urbana? Yeah, it's right in the middle of nowhere.

What are your hobbies? I love writing, playing guitar and ukulele, and taking pictures of animals. I also dabble in painting/sketching and am in the process of painting murals at my place rn (currently working on a wall piece of studio ghibli/avatar the last airbender murals). The Dragon Prince and Dota: Dragon's Blood have special places in my heart on Netflix, and you'll often find me binge-watching them on days when I can't find anything else to do. Video games are also a favorite pastime of mine (I will legit not shut up about them once you get me started).

Do you have any pets? Yeah! I have a cat, two dogs, and a sassy bearded dragon named Zuko who likes cuddling on my face/my laptop when I'm trying to finish teaching projects for college.

What sports do you play/have you played? I've been playing golf for the past five years, and love it. It's very relaxing, and honestly very stress-relieving (except when you shoot a ball into the water and that one old couple you see every time at the course starts laughing as they see a otherwise composed woman throw her club and shout obscenities at a geological feature that swallowed a $10 ball). I tried my hand at soccer way back when, but hated competitive playing and instead now teach little kids how to play at my local elementary school sometimes.

How tall are you? 5'7

Favorite subject in school? I adored English, art, and history. I took a theatre class in my first year of college and found a love for it (my professor wanted me to try out for the play but I turned him down and it still haunts me). I also have a strange fascination for philosophy.

Dream job? Elementary school teacher and author (I can't wait to graduate and have my own classroom with those little goblins lol)

My King Will Be Kind Chapter 2 / Kendall Roy x OC

an: another short chapter, but here you go!!

Stella was awoken the next morning by her phone ringing. She groaned, knowing her alarm hasn't gone off so must be relatively early. It's 11 AM, whoops.

It was an unknown New York number. Probably a marketing call, but it could also be someone her manager needs her to talk to. Fuck it, Stella thought, as she picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hello." A smooth, deep voice perked her interest from the other side of the phone.

Kendall.

She immediately cleared her throat, trying to sound less sleepy. Stella sat up, clambering out of bed and to her bathroom. In the mirror, her hair was a mess, makeup smudged across her face.

"I hope I didn't wake you."

"Um, no, no, definitely not." She walked back to the bed.

Kendall laughed, but it kind of sounds pitiful.

"I couldn't stop thinking about you."

Stella rolled her eyes. "Okay, lover boy." Stella tried to hide the blush on her cheeks as if he could see through the phone.

He's quiet for a second. "What are you wearing?"

She muffled a laugh. "Are you fucking serious?"

"Yeah I'm fucking serious."

"Well," Stella put on a sultry voice. Good thing she was a good actress. "I'm wearing gray sweatpants and a t shirt, so."

"You're hilarious."

"I know."

"I want you to come over tonight. I'll have my chef make us whatever you want."

"Your chef?"

"Uh, yeah."

She was quiet for a second, worst-case scenarios flash in her head. "Listen, Kendall, are you sure?"

"Of course."

"I just—" Stella paused. "I'm apprehensive."

"Why?" He asked.

"Well, for starters, um, I'm kind of new at all this. I'm just a baby famous person, like, I didn't grow up in this spotlight like you." She continued, "if something goes wrong, I don't have money to fall back on. This is it for me. I just don't know...if I can be in your world."

"Stella, relax."

"I just feel like—"

"Just once, okay? And if it fuckin sucks, uh, you never have to see me again."

Stella thought for a second. It could be fun, probably amazing food and an even better fuck. But the optics were not good.

"Okay."

"I'll send a car at seven."

"Kendall." She pushed back.

"What?"

"I'll just take the subway, it's fine!"

Kendall laughed in disbelief. "You are not taking the subway."

"Then I'll Uber."

"No. I'm sending a car. Let me do this for you."

Stella could practically hear the twitter trolls screaming at all this.

"Okay, okay, fine."

Kendall sat at his desk, scrolling through Stella's Instagram. He stopped at a picture of her in a bikini, clicking on it and zooming in.

"Ken."

Kendall shot back into reality as Roman's voice pierced his eardrums. He jumped, closing his laptop.

"Insta-stalking? You horny bastard."

"Fuck off, Roman."

Seven came a little too fast for Stella. She was supposed to spend the day working on her script and answering emails. She was supposed to take her dog, Kurt, to the park. She spent the day anxious, pacing around her apartment, contemplating the millions of things that could go wrong. Stella had researched Kendall all day, stalking his social media and wikipedia pages. He seemed to have mixed reviews, but the bad was very bad.

He had two kids, Sophie and Iverson, with his ex-wife Rava. They were young teenagers and apparently spent most of their time with their mother. There wasn't much about Rava online other than her relation to Kendall. It looked like they were separated for a while before getting divorced two years ago.

And then there were the drugs...

Stella knew it was bad to look for Kendall's dirty laundry on the internet, but she had to know what she was getting herself into. Last year he went on a weird "feminist" tirade against his father and company. He even planned to go on Sophie Iwobi's show but backed out last second. She had definitely been looking forward to Sophie making fun of Kendall, but now that she knew him, she felt bad. He clearly had a tough life and had been through a lot.

Stella facepalmed. She couldn't actually be having sympathy for a billionaire, right? Right?!

Then there was the outfit. Stella had no idea what to wear or what to bring. What do you get a person who has all of the money in the world? She decided that, as risky as it was, she would bring him a nice blunt. She knew he smoked, so a good, dispensary-quality blunt would be perfect. It was better than a cheap ass wine from Trader Joe's.

After the trip to the dispensary, Stella took a detour to a local vintage boutique. She had a pair of black leather pants and a blazer that needed a top. The store was one of those extremely expensive vintage places that were all over the Upper East Side, but she really wanted to impress Kendall.

She decided on a silky white cowl neck halter top. It was pretty expensive, but again, Stella wanted Kendall to like her. It was almost five when Stella got back to her apartment. She was pretty good at getting ready quickly, but this was different. This guy was a literal billionaire, not some C-list actor from Raya. Stella still chose light makeup though, and opted to have her hair down and straightened.

After over an hour, she was ready. Stella looked at herself in the body-length mirror of her apartment. She looked good. Billionaire good. She took a few selfies before getting her things. Her phone chimed with a text from Kendall. She usually kept her ringer off, but today Stella needed to be aware of every text and call.

The car should be there in two minutes. Excited to see you

Stella still couldn't believe Kendall was sending a car, but here she was, two minutes later, climbing into a huge black Suburban. The driver opened the door for her, smiling.

"Thanks." She muttered.

Twenty minutes of nervous sweating later, they had arrived at Kendall's building in Hudson Yards. The building was huge and probably the nicest place Stella had ever been. Did she need permission to even get into the front door?

"Mr. Roy will meet you inside." The driver said, opening Stella's door.

"Oh, um, thanks. When do I, um, tip you?"

The driver laughed.

Stella laughed nervously. She stepped out of the car, looking around at the fancy business people around her. The streets were actually clean.

ooooohhh okay i will try to be concise but i can have lots of things to say lol

shows:

the good place - i just love this show. it's about ethics and morality and also choosing to be good to others. and it's funny. what's not to love??

elementary - elementary is like a warm blanket i wear. it was the first show i ever started watching when it premiered and stayed on top of for the entire time it was airing. sherlock & joan are literally everything to me and i fell off my rewatch at the last season bc i didn't want it to end (again)

ted lasso - this one is pretty self-explanatory but much like the good place, it's about kindness and being good to others and it's hilarious. whenever i feel like shit i rewatch the christmas episode from s2 lol

movies:

the princess diaries 1 & 2 - i just love these movies so much. the humor in them is so good!!! i missed so much when i was younger. they're just as funny, if not funnier, as an adult now. maybe they're comforting bc of the nostalgia but i just love how familiar they feel

into the spider-verse - if i want to be entertained by a Quality Film, this is what i'll watch. when i saw it in theaters i wanted to see it again and when i bought it i watched it and then literally started it over to immediately watch it again. it's just phenomenal and i love every second, every frame. this movie has a special pedestal in my heart next to peeta mellark

captain america: the winter soldier - aside from movies i watched as a kid, this may be the film i've seen the most. i just think it's great. the music is so special, the pacing is perfect, and the dynamics between everyone.... this was top-tier moviemaking, particularly for marvel, bc it was before every mcu movie felt quite so formulaic.

video games:

animal crossing - i kind of don't want to count new horizons in this bc it doesn't feel the same but i spent soooo much time playing ac games on my nintendo ds lite and my 3ds. i just love going into the games to talk to all my adorable ass villagers.

the last of us part ii - so this kind of comes with a caveat. i only count this if i skip all the cutscenes. i really really like how the gameplay feels so sometimes i'll just hop into chapters or combat encounters to mess around bc i know exactly how they'll go and i challenge myself to harder difficulties (or just go OP with all the cheats on). the content itself throughout the story isn't particularly comforting sldfjksdfl

skyrim - i have a tough time playing it these days (i just got it again and am playing for the first time in like 10 years) because of motion sickness stuff that hurts my eyes but i love skyrim so much. this was the first huge open-world game i ever really loved and i credit this one and portal 2 for kind of opening the door to gaming for me.

portal 2 - i can't go without mentioning this one bc even though i haven't been able to play it in a LONG time bc i have it on xbox 360 and my laptop can't run it, this game is the first game i remember REALLY loving. it's so special to me. i don't remember how many times i played through it but i know it was at least twice if not 3 times, which is a lot for me as a teenager. it's a quality game with really clever levels, fantastic voice acting, hilarious lines, and a really fun style of play.

Random facts about my Welcome Home OC sisters Lily and Suzie:

-Lily-

-Her design was inspired by a family member’s child (and for privacy reasons that is all I am revealing).

-Hilariously, both her name and her sister’s name refer to the flower ‘Lily’ and their parents were NOT aware of this fact until it was too late. (Not even I was until awhile ago).

-She is about five or six.

-Her favorite colors are pink and blue.

-Her favorite activity is drawing.

-Her best friend is Nate, who is the nephew of Suzie’s friend.

-Is absolutely that only kid in class that has watched Rankin and Bass stop motion and Jim Henson’s Muppets, and not just current animated stuff.

-Is sort of a miracle child because her parents didn’t have children for years between the two sisters. She was born when Suzie was in high school.

-Wally’s nickname for her–‘little miracle’ is because of the circumstances of her birth but mostly because she was the very first viewer he could ACTUALLY see.

-Wally is her favorite WH character. Barnaby or Julie would be a close second.

-If Lily was on the set of Welcome Home during its heyday (supposing that it WAS real of course) she’d either be a lucky audience member or guest child who gets to interact with the characters.

-If she was a puppet, she'd be a very light shade of orange with a bubblegum pink nose.

-Her use of Suzie’s laptop is only limited to how to play episodes of WH. Since she’s still learning to read, she can’t do much else with it.

-Speaking of, she is one of those kids who WASN’T given CGI junk to be distracted with as a toddler. Suzie prevented that from happening.

-Suzie gave her access to the Welcome Home show episodes and helped her get to the website that has them.

-For some reason, Lily was able to be seen by Wally. Had she not responded or called out to him, he would have acted more like how he normally acts in canon towards the sisters.

-She serves as a reminder as to what Welcome Home was intended for to Wally and the others–a show meant for children.

-As seen in a previous drawing, she has been able to sneak Wally in his canonical-sized puppet form to the real world. She has also taken him to school but quickly stopped after he bit someone who tried to take him away from her.

-It wasn’t shown yet, but she found out that Welcome Home wasn’t exactly a real show after she did a bit more research on it and found little to nothing about it.

-Doesn’t find Wally’s infamous wide-eyed-fourth wall breaking stare creepy. She’s more annoyed by it.

-Wally’s nickname for her would be ‘pretty angel.’ Whether it is a friendly nickname or something ‘a bit more’ hasn’t been decided yet.

-I think that–in addition to her being a good sister and a fellow artist–the fact that she’s assertive and not willing to put up with any B.S. after find out the truth is what makes her interesting to Wally. (Though the fact that he was slightly tricking her up until she found out didn’t help win her over).

-In this AU, Wally is probably about 5 foot 5/6 (not counting his pompadour), so if he was the ‘canonical human size’ then he’d be an inch or two shorter than Suzie.

-Had she did any responses to Wally during an episode and he spoke to her before Lily, it’s likely things would not have gone down well.

-Had she been exposed to OUR version of the Welcome Home website, it’s doubtful she would have let her sister near it.

-While it was a creepy coincidence since I came up with it BEFORE the July 2023 update, the blue flower in her hair for her WH world attire doubles as an important easter egg. Can you guess what it is?

-Like her sister, while she has been able to visit the world of Welcome Home (and stayed far from Poppy’s home for reasons stated already) she has yet to visit Home itself. There is a reason for that.

Translator!Anon here! In honor of the new trailer I have decided to lose my entire mind and fed a short piece of the Belial's Room segment from the GranFes 2022-2023 (which I painstakingly cut out of the stream myself, btw. I am mentally sound) to the voice-to-text program and while again, it's not the most reliable, I'm gonna try a text-based translator later, since the segment is subtitled, I was curious to see what it'd spit out

One thing I actually heard with my own ears is after Belial read a letter from someone who bought his figurine, he went "kore wa kore wa", which most closesly translates to "Well, well", but a translation also suggested it's "A phrase used when one feels shocked upon encountering something unexpected" which is hilarious because it's so patently untrue. He sounds neither surprised nor shocked. More like smug. So yeah. I thought that was funny.

One sentence that the program figured out that looks super close to the actual subtitles provided ended up being "It was a very exciting first time." Of course it would get that right. What was I thinking. He was referring to how he got here and how he had difficulty getting to the Fes and got stuck (in traffic?) and ended up taking the car, which was said exciting (doki doki) first time. Then something about feeling the wind. But please take this with a grain of salt. All we know for certain is that he had an exciting first time. Good for you, man.

He refers to his segment as a treat for the audience and thanks them for their many letters (the questions you could send via his Twitter, I am never getting over that) and promises that we're going to love it. Or that he loves us (suki). Pick your favorite, but I know mine.

He also laughs and it looks genuinely wholesome, like he's actually having fun. He's probably enjoying having such a huge harem who coo at his every move. Well, maybe it's a bit sinister, but he looks so happy so I don't mind the ulterior motives.

He was surprised by the amount of messages he got, which does not surprise me, personally. He goes on to say that responding to some of them is his way of showing his love.

The first question was someone asking about how Belial would describe his ideal man, according to Granblue_en, my heroes, and according to them he goes on for a while before realizing he's describing himself

My mix of programs unfortunately spat out something pretty cryptic and hard to understand, so I went for something else.

I tried Google Lens and yeah, it's a bit sluggish, I have to cover the camera and pause often because it doesn't fully realize when the text changes and occasionally refuses to focus on the text I want it to and translates something completely random instead, like the keyboard on my laptop. I had no idea those are numbers in the top row, thank you, Lens.

According to it, however, his answer to the question was "A good man, huh? Genuine and sincere, doesn't lie to himself, earnestly fulfils his role. Isn't that a good man? ...Ah, my bad. Isn't this a self-introduction?"

I'm counting that as a success because it's actually comprehensible. Perhaps if I had a lot more time on my hands I'll try longer sequences with the Lens, but again, it's not super cooperative. But I appreciate getting to catch a glance at how he sees himself, apparently? How he sees himself? Is he just being ironic again?Food for thought!

From the Granblue_en summary, I was honestly expecting much worse, so this is a relief

I intend to keep finagling with this occasionally until I uncover the whole truth. I even started looking for Japanese classes in my area. I am obsessed. Don't be like me, kids

Unrelated but even without knowledge of the Japanese language I enjoy watching these Belial's Room segments, it's pure Hosoyan ASMR and just nice, so I definitely recommend them and hope we get another one next year

On the origins of Not So Seecret Saturday, and its future

When I first found Minecraft I was roughly 10 years old.

I can’t precisely identify how I found it - through some kid at school, or a friend of my sister, or randomly on the internet - but I remember falling in love with it.

I loved the aesthetic, I loved the dopey Minecraft music parodies, I loved the let’s plays, I loved the classic multiplayer servers, I loved the dumb jokes the community made, but most of all - I loved the game itself. It was weird, beautiful, simple, terrifying, serene, and hilarious, all at the same time.

I spent hours not only playing the game itself, but also watching videos about it, reading forum and blog posts, and poring over the Minecraft wiki - my favorite articles of which were the ones regarding the removed, unused, and planned features - aspects of the game that I could know about but never experience for myself.

Over time the game I fell in love with started to fade away - the aesthetic changed as biomes were added (though not that much, and it still looked nice), the gameplay began to suffer (a fast travel hell dimension with nothing to do in it, beds that let you sidestep the entire challenge of the game), but it was still largely the game I loved.

After Beta 1.8, the game I loved ceased to exist.

Okay, that’s a bit too dramatic. I still played the hell out of the game during the early release era - but I notably stopped playing survival singleplayer altogether after Beta 1.8. Multiplayer in any game is fun, and the newly added creative mode gave me hours of mindless entertainment blowing things up with TNT and making useless redstone contraptions. But to a large extent I stopped playing the game itself - survival singleplayer - and every time I did I found myself having a very hard time enjoying it.

Now, kid me didn’t really know why I suddenly lost all interest in this game I loved - I could kinda grok that stuff like the new hunger system and terrain system were less than stellar (likely helped by the fact that everyone seemed to hate these two things at the time - the massive open letter to Mojang begging them to add beaches back to the terrain generator springs to mind), but the nitty gritty specifics of what exactly made the game less fun for me were not yet apparent.

Luckily for kid me, I managed to find something to help me alleviate the problem - Exalm’s OldDays mod. This mod allowed you to tweak Minecraft’s features to your own preferences, literally undoing changes from various updates on-the-fly to permit you to hand-tune your personal “perfect” version of Minecraft. I used it to tear out all the changes I didn’t like - gone were the biomes, hunger system, nether, sprinting, new terrain generator, stackable food, potions, enchanting system, etc. Now, suddenly, I could play (and enjoy) singleplayer survival again - and this was the ‘default’ way I played Minecraft up until the mod stopped getting updated in 2013, around release 1.6.4.

By this time a brand new Minecraft launcher had released which allowed you to (officially) go back and play previous versions of Minecraft - with OldDays gone, I picked the version of the game closest to my hand-crafted ideal and dove right in. Thus, the primary version of Minecraft that I played became Alpha 1.1.2_01.

Flash-forward 5 years to July 18th 2018, and I’m not a kid anymore. I’ve just graduated high school, and I’m on vacation with my family in Long Beach Island, New Jersey. It’s a rainy day, so I’m playing Minecraft on my laptop. By this point I had a singleplayer world with damn near everything a player could want in 2010 - an automatic cactus farm, a mob grinder, a minecart system, vast underground mines, an automatic boat dispenser, a hulking storage room - you name it. But deep within I felt a twinge, a feeling that something was missing. I don’t remember what originally set me off, whether it was being by the ocean, or the nascient release of the update aquatic, or a memory of Minecraft classic, but somehow I started getting a bit upset that sponges were unobtainable in the version of the game I was playing.

Very conveniently, I had taken a class on Java my junior year of high school.

I dug up an ancient version of the Mod Coder Pack for a1.1.2_01, decompiled Minecraft and started poking around the codebase. After a bit of digging, a realization slowly began to dawn on me - why stop at sponges? Why not fix more things? Like fix axes not breaking workbenches? Or redstone ore taking an eternity to mine? Or boats exploding when you sneeze on them? Or, better yet, fulfill my childhood fantasies by implementing all the removed/unused/unimplemented features I used to spend hours reading about on the minecraft wiki. Realizing I could use some guidance, I asked my friend Vulpovile (creator of Minecraft Classic Creative Revived) if he might like to help me out with my new project.

side note: I planned on adding the ambient loops a full two years before getting around to implementing them... and my method was essentially the same as what I schemed up on the first day. Most NSSS features bounce around my head for a year or two before I finally implement them.

We managed to get sponges done within a day, and banged out the rest of the little QoL fixes I wanted not too long after. Soon we began going haywire - adding singleplayer commands, trying to fix the outrageously janky alpha multiplayer, optimizing the game, making food stack, making trees drop apples, underwater dungeons, whatever we wanted to do, we did it. We had already numbered our new ‘fork’ of Minecraft as ‘Alpha v1.1.3’, but didn’t actually have a name for it - the original working title was “Minecraft Redone” - a very literal description of our goals, but not that catchy. After 4 days I finally coined the name.

By the 28th, our first release was out: Not So Seecret Saturday’s Minecraft Alpha v1.1.3. We ended up released one update every other week straight on into october - in 1.1.4 we tried to beat the server code further into submission, in 1.1.5 I reimplemented the score system from survival test and added floating worlds, in 1.1.6 I tried (and failed) to improve mob AI and made sponges redstone-sensitive, and in 1.1.7 we polished our work a bit and added two more world types. Then September hit and Vulpovile and I were sucked right back into college. During winter break we managed to release some more patches to 1.1.7, as well as 1.1.8 to add McRegion and running... before the first gap.

‘The gap’, as I’m dubbing it now, is a fairly common occurrence in NSSS development - it’s happened roughly 3.5 times now, and each time it’s the same thing:

Development on NSSS is interrupted by something IRL (at first this was always college, but now it’s health conditions and other boring responsibilities of being an adult. And a bit of depression.)

I don’t get right back to working on NSSS.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the then-current state of NSSS. A LOT of time.

The more I think, the more I determine needs to be done to NSSS before I’d be satisfied enough to do a new release.

Every time I open eclipse I either get so overwhelmed by the massive backlog of work that has to be done that I either only manage one tiny portion or I give up and do something else.

Steps 2-5 are repeated ad nauseum, until...

A sudden, miraculous wave of motivation occurs. I get everything I’ve been planning over the past [weeks/months/year(s)] done in the span of 2 weeks, release the update, and finally return to making semi-regular NSSS updates.

This routine is so predictable to me now that I can nearly time my watch to it. But that first gap after 1.1.8 was special - as I sat and thought about NSSS, and what I really wanted to do with it, my goal slowly shifted. At first I had just wanted to ‘fix’ Minecraft alpha by cramming a bunch of shiny toys and knick-knacks into it to satisfy my inner child, but now I wanted something... more. I didn’t just want to make a better alpha than alpha, I wanted to make a better Minecraft than Minecraft.

Let me preface this by divulging that I’m a massive fan of Team Fortress 2.

The development history of TF2 is utterly fascinating, and if you’re at all interested in game development I urge you greatly to play through the entire TF2 developer’s commentary, but the relevant parallel is this:

The original Team Fortress was a mod of quake made by a trio of Australian teenagers who went hog-wild with QuakeC, the super powerful Quake scripting language, to invent the class-based shooter in 1996. At first they were just adding things to have fun, but over time started paying more and more attention to the actual design and balance of the game they had created. Eventually, the entire team was hired by VALVe in ‘98, and after porting Team Fortress to GoldSrc as ‘Team Fortress Classic’, they got right to work on Team Fortress 2.

Team Fortress 2 didn’t release for another 9 years.

During that time, TF2 went through a multitude of totally different designs and ideas, at some points being nearly unrecognizable gameplay-wise to the original Team Fortress, until ultimately VALVe decided to stop trying to invent something wholly new and unknown and instead to improve on what they knew - and so they essentially rebuilt Team Fortress for the third time, now in the Source engine, and with a cartoon-ier art style. And then they started playtesting.

VALVe had learnt from making half-life that playtesting often and early is utterly invaluable as a tool to aide game design. After all - how do you know how something is gonna play until you’ve played it? And how will it play for people who are totally unexposed to it? A developer already knows all the game’s mechanics and how they work - how would a lay-person discover them all for themselves? Which mechanics would a normal player use in ways the developers never intended? There’s no way to find this stuff out until you hand your game off to a stranger and wait to see how they break it.

And so VALVe, through constant playtesting, tweaking, and fiddling, honed TF2′s design and gameplay to a point where, while not totally perfect, was absolutely better than the original Team Fortress. And aside from the new artstyle, the omission of grenades and bhopping, and the medic becoming... well, an actual medic, very little had changed of the core gameplay beyond little tweaks and nudges.

That’s what I wanted NSSS to become.

I wanted to make Minecraft into a better game than it already was through little tweaks and nudges - an adjustment here, a rebalance there, and a few new features where a gap exists to justify them.

During the first gap I did manage to release some moderate patches to 1.1.8, fixes for things like the busted FastRender port and proper textures for all the dye colors, as well as the first release of the NSSS launcher. But all of these were just tide-overs for what I really wanted.

In summer of 2020 the first gap-and-a-half concluded with the release of 1.1.9, which added Creative mode, Sponge Armor, and Ambient loops. All of these features were things I had spent years brainstorming, tweaking, and revising before I was finally happy with them - and when they finally released to the public... they were good. By now NSSS had started to accumulate some following, and the positive feedback to 1.1.9 was notable - it turns out that people like things that are carefully thought-out and designed! Two weeks later I released 1.1.10 to patch over some more things and finalize gold touch, and then I set my aim on the largest hulking problem NSSS has faced since day 1:

Multiplayer.

The original ‘legacy’ NSSS server was accidentally based off of a version of hMod for Alpha 1.1.2_01, but our problems with it would have occurred regardless; the Alpha server SUCKED. Within a day of poking around the code Vulpovile and I came to the conclusion that Notch had taken the Classic server and stapled infinite worlds onto it to create a horrible abomination.

Mobs would randomly turn invisible, Redstone would only work at certain Y levels, Doors would open halfway, you would randomly die of fall damage for no reason, you couldn’t eat food unless you were looking directly at the floor, if you checked a furnace while it was smelting something it’d break the timer and waste fuel, you could dupe items in chests by clicking on them fast enough, tools could be repaired by dropping them on the ground and picking them back up - it was a nightmare.

Vulpovile and I both, quite rightly, came to the conclusion around 1.1.8 that the legacy server was unworkable. We started trying to write our own , new server from scratch, but that went nowhere - too much of an uphill battle. Once 1.1.9 came along, I decided to do it ‘the easy way’ and just take a later version’s server and downgrade it to alpha - the winner was beta 1.7.3. I had hoped to finish by 1.1.10, but found myself in a deeper hole than I expected, so 1.1.10 was shipped with no multiplayer and I made 1.1.11 into the “fix multiplayer” release.

1.1.11 took over a year to finish.

God what a nightmare. It did not take me very much time to get simple interoperability between the NSSS client and the Beta server, but certain bugs quickly emerged as gordion knots: if someone sneaked they would crash all connected clients, opening a chest crashed the game, crafting recipes were one slot to the left, your armor would shift one slot down at random times, and vehicles were possessed by demons. The sheer amount of bugs I had to work through to get this update out was mind-boggling, to a point where I actually opened 1.1.11 up to a limited group of playtesters for several months before full release just for the sake of trying to eliminate every bug possible. Ultimately, the pre-planned release date of September 18th, 2021 (exactly eleven years after Alpha 1.1.1, the first seecret saturday) snuck up on me, and I panickedly released what I hoped was a relatively bug-free 1.1.11: it wasn’t! While multiplayer was far, far better than it had been in 1.1.9 and prior, singleplayer had become riddled with bugs, namely pertaining to inventories and creepers. I quashed most of them in later patches, but the armor shifting bug still isn’t totally fixed in multiplayer - if you die and relog without completely closing and reopening the game, your armor still shifts one slot down. I have no clue why the hell this happens.

Something that started happening during 1.1.11 that would foreshadow the next 2 years of NSSS’s development was a trend wherein I would gradually feel more and more trapped by the feature set of the update I was working on, and would increasingly wish I was working on the next update instead - this sucked for motivation and made 1.1.11 take even longer. That next update was going to be one that would add Seasons and Dynamic Weather to NSSS - an update which has been in progress for almost two years.

1.1.12 is still coming along, don’t worry, but I can guarantee you that once it’s out, I am never doing another massive, year-long-wait update for NSSS every again. Updates will return to being smaller and more frequent - the way it should be! Expect further ranting in a later post.

Book Review: The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy + Sable

You probably are desperate to know what I think about it, and I need to keep this short and succint, so here goes.

The book is awesome. I loved Arthur's character, and the intro was hilarious. The part where that guy is so perplexed that he just lies down in front of the bulldozer without a struggle. I also loved the subversion of expectations when it was revealed that mice were the most intelligent creatures on Earth and they were experimenting of humans all along. I remember wondering what it could be when it was first mentioned, dolphins? Octopi? Sperm whales? (although, there was an extremely gory sperm whale death that I did not appreciate at all. Yeah, I revel in human death and cringe at animal death. Sociopath? Probably). The Improbability Drive is also an interesting concept. :P I'm sorry, if there's one thing I'm absolutely garbage at it's reviewing stuff.

The whole story is just a rollercoaster ride. The weirdest stuff happens and absolutely nothing goes the way you'd expect it to. The humour is on point, I love the worldbuilding and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Sable

Okay, you may be wondering what Sable is. Sable is an open-world exploration game that I decided to play over the vacation, partly because it's somehow only 2 GB??? and would fit on my thumb drive so my dad wouldn't get mad at me for installing games on his laptop.

Anyways, you may have seen the screenshots from Sable on my moodboard for potential artstyles.

Really pretty screenshot I got. Sable is standing on top of the uh chimney??? of a Hercules Beetle (giant, I mean like baby elephant sized) nest looking out onto the ruins of a castle. You can see why I liked this artstyle. Minimalistic, very few colours, simple textures.

Cute creature UwU. They're the queen of the species.

Ain't that relatable.

Aaaannnnyyyywaaaayyyss, damn guess this is why you use launchers, I have no way to track playtime :P, damn you Windows. So, I got the game ages ago, I think around Christmas, but didn't play because I was still travelling, and forgot about it by the time I got home because Epic Games keeps throwing out free games every week. Seriously, I think I have a library of 200 games and played at most 10 of them. So, I booted up the game again after accidentally purging it from my laptop last time.

Sidenote: The game is full of enby characters! Well, at least, people who use they/them pronouns.

You play as Sable, an Ibexii kid who's leaving for her "Gliding". You have to fetch the parts for your hoverbike, and until then you have to ride a broken down garbage bike, and then you go to a temple and receive a mask, and gliding powers, and when you return, you reach the part that made me fall in love with the game. A cutscene plays out where Sable walks out into the exit of the canyon. Control is handed back to the player and a prompt appears on the screen to press "F" to "Call Out". You press F, and the hoverbike glides in from the distance. That felt so awesome, like, it could compete with the "Even The Odds" scene in Arkham Knight.

That's just the beginning though. As you drift off to the outside world, the camera pans out, showing the canyon, with the title card, and an absolutely awesome track starts playing

as you glide on to your next destination over the vast desert. This scene is very powerful in conveying the feeling of leaving home to discover the world and yourself. This is one aspect of video games I wish more games would capitalise on. The interactivity. Since the player is controlling the character, there's a degree of, how do you say this, one-ness. I feel like the best video games are those that allow the player to feel like they're actually in the game world and not just controlling some rando character in a pre-written story.

I've only played a little so far, but the exploration is so fun. I decided I wanted to do a quest, got lost, somehow, maybe I don't know my cardinal directions, and ended up finding pieces of a crashed ship with an AI named Sarin with voice logs. They mention Earth(-hours), so that might be relevant sometime. I discovered that the planet is called Midden, and it's covered with sand, and the only water I saw was in an indoor pool. There are also these curious fish species which swim in the sand and nibble on plant roots. Wish I took pictures, the wiki is scarce.

Character Intro: Pan (Kingdom of Ichor)

Nicknames- The Lost God, The Great Pan by the people of Olympius

Age- 56 (immortal)

Location- Arcadia, Olympius

Personality- Despite the gossip for being known as an amorous frenzied drunk, he's actually extremely wise, calm, respectful, & benevolent. Above all else, nature is extremely important to him. He's polyamorous.

He's the only god in the pantheon that's a satyr.

He has the standard abilities of a god. As god of the wild, satyrs, shepherds, & rustic music his powers/abilities include his most powerful one- the panic cry (which induces frenzy & madness in others), chlorokinesis, being able to summon/control all wild animals, dendrokinesis (controlling wood & trees), geokinesis, vounókinesis (mountain manipulation), vitakinesis (healing), hydrokinesis (as it pertains to fresh water sources), limited atmokinesis (weather manipulation), woodland magic, and pan flute magic (when he plays his sacred instrument he's able to curse others by putting them in an uncontrollable dancing trance).

His natural scent is that of musk and frankincense.

Pan's favorite colors are green & brown.

Throughout his godly career he was involved in many things like Zeus' battle with Typhon, the Gigantomachy, and the not-so serious talent show-off with the music god Apollo. Pan didn't mind that he was put on a pedestal being the unofficial spokesman for the Satyr race. After a few hundred years living in the modern world, he bagan to feel anxious & restless. Pan couldn't quite put his finger on it, but several things he noticed about modern society he now found repulsive- especially beings' relationship with nature. He quickly deleted his Fatestagram profile and with little resistance from the King, Pan slowly and quietly walked away from the public eye & official duties of the pantheon. He still had control over his businesses in the country. Before he left, he was a mentor twice- to the gods Hermes & Dionysus.

Pan thought it was hilarious when there was months long news coverage of his "disappearance." A mortal sailor Thamus achieved notoriety during his press tour- being interviewed by many journalists and going on talk shows with his unbelievable tale of recieving word of the god's death. His iconic line, "The great god Pan is dead!" has been printed on T-shirts. It was even more funnier when a blurry photo of Pan taken by the paparazzi made its way on the cover of The Oracle Scoop!

After abandoning most of modern society, he retreated to his sacred place (the state of Arcadia) where Pan has now established a commune that's two thousand strong. The commune is situated on his MASSIVE woodland estate, hidden away under the cover of mountains. There has been a school built for the kids, a library, his juice shack business, a yoga studio, & a holistic health center. There's also a huge farm filled with horses, cows, sheep, and goats. A major rule of the commune is not using any modern technology (mainly TVs, computers, laptops, smartphones, & tablets). Clothes are often washed by hand and there's no Wi-Fi.

When he's feeling nervous or anxious he'll sometimes chew on tin cans.

Pan's favorite drinks include coconut water, aloe vera juice, roast coffee, grapefruit soda, carrot-ginger-tumeric smoothies, mango juice, beer, coconut milk, matcha tea, oatmilk, assam tea, orange juice, sweet tea, & green tea. He even makes his own moonshine!

His businesses in Olympius include his weed dispensaries and The Lytêrios Oasis, an adult nudist resort. earnings from those businesses go toward various charities & projects like his Green Grove Project- to combat deforestation and repairing homes for people in woodland & mountainous communities.

Pan loves Deipneus' garlic bagles (with a vegan cream cheese spread). He also likes the vegan tempeh club sandwich from The Bread Box.

He (much like the residents in the commune) is vegan.

Pan frequents shrooms, weed, lotus tiles, and chewing tobacco. He also ironically likes nicotine gum!

He can play the pan flute, lyre, acoustic guitar, ukulele, & other woodwind instruments like the clarinet and oboe.

His favorite dessert is the hummingbird cake from Hollyhock's Bakery. He also likes the oatmeal brownies his daughter brings for him when she visits.

In the pantheon Pan's good friends with Demeter (goddess of the harvest & agriculture); though they haven't seen each other in many years, Nyx (goddess of the night), Erebus (god of darkness), Karmanor (demi-god of the harvest), The Ourea (esteemed mountain gods), Agathodaemon (Daemon) (god of vineyards, grainfields, & luck), Chiron (the immortal centaur), Pherusa (goddess of substance & farm estates), Livádi (goddess of meadows), Paean (goddess of physicians), The Nesoi (sister isand goddesses), Hydros (god of water), Priapus (god of fertility, vegetable gardens, livestock, sexuality, & masculinity), Elpis (goddess of hope), Triptolemus (god of farming), and Trochilus (god of the mill wheel & Arcadian Mysteries).

Former lovers of his include Selene (Titaness of the moon), Karme (demi-goddess of the harvest); they're now friends, Evimería (goddess of prosperity), Kéfi (goddess of mirth), and Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence). There are even rumors swirling about that Pan & Gaia got together a few times! Current lovers are Nárkosi (goddess of sedation), Damia (goddess of naturalness), and Eupheme (an Oread); they share a son Krotos. The only romantic relationship that Pan ever considered marriage was with the naiad nymph Syrinx (they share a daughter Physis who's the goddess of nature). They used to be in a folk band called Chapters of Lore. The band traveled & performed everywhere (even in the Underwater realm), managed to perform at the Summer Solstice Music Festival, and even snagged five Golden Laurels!

His favorite snack are plantain chips and cashew string cheese.

Pan uses the sulfate free aloe vera shampoo and the almond & castor oil loc elixir from Glory's Crown for his long dreadlocks.

His favorite frozen treat is cinnamon oatmilk ice cream.

In his free time Pan enjoys archery, horseback riding, gardening, canoeing, hiking, mountain climbing, music, acupuncture, aromatherapy, swimming, basketball, surfing, football (soccer), writing (songs or entries in his journal), pottery, yoga, reading, cooking, spending time with his children, painting (mostly landscapes & nude portraits), and lovemaking.

Some of his favorite meals include cabbage stir fry with buckwheat soba noodles, vegan shepherd's pie, miso tofu wraps, butternut squash stuffed pasta shells, curry lentil soup, & vegan rasta pasta.
