I missed you too
The Parent Trap
---
I ended up watching the original 1961 Parent Trap and LORD but there's a lot going on in that film. But ignoring the more . . . distressingly unhealthy 60s attitude toward marriage dynamics. . . The actual twin swap is such a good angle (and the effects genuinely hold up really well) I just wanted to capture the stress of trying to assimilate into a life so unlike your own, and that gut punch moment when they get to meet their missing parent for the first time.
And from there I just couldn't help imagine a future parent reconciliation, with a couple of siblings added into the mix . . .
Tumblr media
Unlike in the film where they were right to have gotten divorced (and shoulda stayed super divorced)- Takaaki and Kiyoko's seperation was very much a symptom of Toranosuke's scandal and demanded by Kiyoko's father. So when they meet once again as a result of the Twin's shenanigans, the two of them could easily develop a genuine connection, now they're older, more experienced, and freed from the pressure of expectation. And I'm not immune to making every red eyed Dangan character an Ishimaru sibling
(Truth be told, this has been on my mind ever since @puckishpal 's just marvellous fic Changed, and I really wanted to get this out in time for @mini-mecha-cowboy 's Kiyotaka week prompts AU and Lookalike, but uuuh- I managed to miss that by just a few ;; )

Love these headcannons I want five more
Question 17
YAY
17. List five headcanons for your favorite characters!
Peko loves furries and fursuits, and after a bit of bashfulness is completely Unashamed of this. she is the type of person who is not really a Furry herself but a big fan and adjacent to the fandom. she would happily accompany any fursuiting friend to a convention to spot them (in exchange for getting to give them headpats) but perhaps would be a little Overzealous in ensuring no one tries to mess with them while they're suiting
Junko actually loves animals. i know this is a very "petting the dog" kind of thing and i'm very much against Defanging DR characters, but also i don't think we ever see her or her peeps hurt a real animal. in-universe, no one notices until years later that while she destroyed Swaths of humanity, she left critters untouched, and rogue Monokuma bots still seem to be feeding zoo creatures, strays, and orphaned pets. further, Gundham was actually one of her Favorite remnants, if she could be said to feel any emotion like that; it's why his execution is more honorable than many others
additionally, Junko had set-ups for all the Executions we don't see as listed in extra DR materials like the artbooks. this does in fact mean that the Future Foundation had to go in and save a bunch of sharks meant for Hina from the Hope's Peak basement. said sharks are in pretty good condition, actually. Junko loved those fucking sharks
Kyoko and Hina take care of Celestia's pet cat post-DR3. he is exactly like Celeste in every way, down to laziness and demands of gyoza, and even requires a Place at the table during Survivor Family Games of Yahtzee. notably, however, he doesn't play; he paws at players when they're about to make a shitty move. Hina wonders if perhaps he taught Celestia all she knows
in any nice non-despair AU, Kotoko's best (older) friend becomes Sakura, who makes good on her Summer Camp promise to protect her in various ways. Sakura may hate the title ogre but she allows Kotoko to lovingly call her Monster Girl or Big Sis Monster, and even comes to enjoy it
BONUS: two misc Engineering Trio headcanons. one, Miu actually is not rude to Chihiro because that makes him cry and she gets uncomfortable when her words actually have An Effect. she is gruff and exasperated but never Rude. two, Kazuichi sees Miu as something like a Disney Channel older sister, mean in the most Immature Ways but ultimately family, and this is their relationship for all of time.

My BIGGEST complaint about V3 is that Tsumugi broke one of the biggest rules "Only the Blackened Dies" Junko does it too but Makoto still LIVED
Which is why I have so many Kaede's Alive Au's
Welcome to Amnesiac!Kaede. (As per usuall with my Aus: The V3 cast DID actually go to hopepeak with the other classes, they are 77-C and Kaede's a kuzuryu thanks bye)
The Shock from her 'Exicution' cause Kaede to lose her memory.
She wakes up in a Future Foundation Hospital after they see a Monokuma leaving her in front of a Remnant's territory *cough* Fuyuhiko and Pekos *cough*
She's taken in and cared for, but no one knows who she is or why the monokuma didn't just kill her. And Kaede herself doesn't remember much, not even her name.
This flies under the radar for a LONG time, enough for all the other Killing Games to finish.
The v3 survivors are working for Future Foundation in different roles, but they are also searching for the living relatives of the Victims from the game. To let them know what happened and that (most) the participants were victims of circumstance (with notable exceptions).
When they find a genetic match to one of the 'Participants' they will set up a meeting with the individual to see if they actually knew the person and if they did, let them know what happened.
Here comes the confusion and issue.
At first the only people who show up with Kaede's genetic matches are the Kuzuryu's. All three are confused until they get in contact with Fuyuhiko. Fuyuhiko explains that... Yes Kaede's his sister, in fact she was Natsumi's OLDER twin, but due to a BUNCH of reasons used a different last name.
He's heartbroken, but not surprised to hear Kaede died. He's pissed to find out Kaede was actually INNOCENT and got executed. It takes multiple people to calm him down.
Then months later as the whole FF KG thing calms down all the Hospital information is coming through and suddenly. Kaede has another match.
An Amnesiac Patient at a small FF hospital.
Obviously, Shuichi (as the person most invested in Kaede from V3's kg) is on the team sent to interview her. And she's a dead ringer for the Pianist.
If Shuichi didn't know that Kaede's twin was a non-identical twin (and dead) he'd think that THIS woman was Kaede's twin. but he has to keep that a secret from her.
After testing her DNA the Match is 100% leaving EVERYONE confused so Kaede of course asks the question "Did you know me?" because the Hospital explained that's why someone like Shuichi would come there.
Is conflicted because one hand, this seems to be Kaede, on the Other. He's already dealt with the grief of believing Kaede's dead, and this Kaede doesn't remember ANYTHING.
Ultimately he admits to having been her friend... And admitting she went through something terrible.
When he brings her back to FF HQ there's talk of what to do with her. Does she stay at an FF facility to try and help her remember everything? Or do they ship her off to Jabberwok to be in the care of her only living family?
Shuichi wants to stay with her but understands right now he's a stranger to her.
Finally, during a video call, she somewhat recognizes Fuyuhiko, calling him nicknames like 'Fuyu' and 'Big-bro'. That settles it.
But when she's about to board the boat she pauses and turns back to Shuichi.
"I'm glad I finally got to see you without your hat." Shuichi nearly falls over at the look of familiarity in her eyes. "When I remember everything, I'll come back. Promise."

ouuuuhhh so ive been attempting for a hot minute to associate this particular san fermin song w kuzuhina because i really like the vibes but i couldnt. find the bit. yknow the Bit. the Nugget.
finally found it.
(under the cut. warning: this is an au ramble and it gets Long)
first off:
youtube
okay. the au:
these two kids live in a small town. maybe not super rural, and not right by the big city, but its your typical smaller japanese suburb. neither of them are happy. theyre maybe ten or eleven, but one of them lives in an upper class, extremely controlling household, one where his parents constantly fight, and hes been subjected to at least some level of abuse. he also knows theres something wrong with him, something that makes him different from even his peers, though he cant quite see what it is yet. the other is alone, distant from his parents, distant from his peers, deeply depressed and unaware that hes even himself.
but theyre friends. in some ways, theyre all the other has in this fucked up place, and a majority of their happiest memories are with each other. they make a promise, one night, that someday, when theyre a bit older, theyll run away together. theyll escape this terrible town and theyll travel the world and theyll be together, and everything will be okay.
and then they grow up.
theyre still friends. but now hajime has figured out, to an extent, who he is, started at least socially transitioning as they get into high school. they make other friends, outside of fuyuhiko’s odd relationship with peko (the daughter of one of their family’s servants), find people to connect with. hajime reaches out, gets a crush on chiaki that she returns, maybe they even start dating. he changes.
and fuyuhiko… doesnt.
maybe hes too stubborn, maybe hes been burned too many times, maybe hes just too poisoned by his parents’ rhetoric. but he wont, or maybe cant, step too far outside of the box hes placed himself in. he watches hajime drift, feels panic inside, doesnt know how to fix it. they argue. hajime worries. fuyuhiko shrugs it off.
when theyre seventeen, fuyuhiko’s dad finds out hes been fooling around with other boys. hiding magazines, clearing his search history of anything incriminating. the confrontation doesnt go well.
he has to get out. its the end of the line, at this point. fuyuhiko has to get out. he packs, he plans, he prepares. he waits just long enough to knock on hajimes window, late at night, like he used to when they were kids and hed sneak out so they could run into the woods together.
he asks hajime to come with him. just the two of them, like they promised.
and hajime… says no.
he cant. he cant leave, not now. not when hes built something around himself. he has a girlfriend, a support system, his parents are barely in his life and as soon as he doesnt live with them they basically wont be. hes already preparing for university, locally. he cant just throw all of that out the window.
he tells fuyuhiko that he doesnt have to go. fuyuhiko knows better. wiping away tears and ignoring how it feels like his heart rips in two, he leaves, gets on the first train out of town, and doesnt look back.
hes gone for more than six years.
in that time, hajime goes to university, gets a degree. he and chiaki go steady, they both start hormones, they get good jobs that keep their heads above water. his parents arent in his life anymore. the kuzuryus move out of town, and he and natsumi share awkward goodbyes. she knows, deep down, that the only thing that could have made fuyuhiko stay was hajime, and since that didnt work… nothing could. peko stays, having grown up in her own time, and she and hajime bond over this quiet feeling of emptiness.
hes not sure exactly what it is. he misses fuyuhiko, of course, every day. misses him like a sickness that lingers in his lungs for weeks. but theres a piece of him that doesnt quite fit right, and it takes a long time for him to figure out how its connected.
and then, one day, out of nowhere, fuyuhiko reappears.
theyre in their mid 20s at this point. hes grown, though not much taller. he has scars, shorter hair, tattoos. hes cagey about where hes been, what hes been up to, who hes been with. he mentions traveling, and he mentions hospital visits. at some point, hajime stops asking, because some part of him doesnt want to know. the rest of him is just happy fuyuhiko is here again.
he asks how long fuyuhiko will be in town. the man shrugs, says ‘depends.’ hajime asks if he has a place to stay yet. he says no, he was probably just gonna book a hotel room.
he and chiaki have a pretty comfortable pullout couch, hajime says. if that would be okay for fuyuhikos back.
a bit hesitantly, fuyuhiko agrees.
for a week or two, things are… good. amazing, even. having fuyuhiko back in his life is like a puzzle piece clicking into place, like hajimes found something he didnt even realize he was missing. at first, theyre just catching up, getting lunch, roaming old haunts. catching up on lost time. but then they stop being away from each other at all. its like theyre joined at the hip, unable to be out of each others presence for more than a few minutes, and chiaki starts to notice. of course she does, she and hajime are engaged. she knows him better than he does, sometimes. and she and fuyuhiko were friends too, of a sort. though he wouldnt have let himself admit that.
she sees how he looks at her fiance. she understands, too, that hajime looks back just the same.
and then one night, shes out of the house. out with friends, staying at work late, out of town for the evening, it doesnt matter. its just the two men at their apartment, and hajime breaks out the sake. they drink, even though fuyuhiko generally cant stand the stuff, and they talk about the past.
it gets… personal. strained. they talk about things they probably shouldnt. they get heated, and upset, and they argue, and they say things they dont mean. fuyuhiko admits to being involved with unsavory business on the outside, that yeah, he fell in with the yakuza, and hes kind of on the lam right now if hes honest. hajime says if hed just stayed they could have been fine. he wouldnt be scarred and constantly looking over his shoulder. he would have been okay.
fuyuhiko says he couldnt have bared to be here any longer. that this town was smothering him, was smothering them, and he thought hajime understood that. says that he probably wouldnt still be alive if hed stayed.
in the middle of the fight, he kisses hajime. its something thats lived in his heart for so long, something hes never let himself admit or even indulge in, that even with the distance between them, even with all that time away, he cares so much for hajime. too much. so much so that it makes him reckless and impulsive and a danger to himself. hes not sure if its to prove a point or shut hajime up or stop the argument or just because hes an idiot, and he immediately regrets it, except… hajime kisses him back.
and then he kisses fuyuhiko again.
it doesnt last long. theyre both far too drunk on too empty stomachs, they both feel sick, from nausea and from the sinking realization of what theyre doing. what this means. its late, and theyre exhausted and wrung out, and they both go to sleep, apart. hajime in he and chiakis bed. fuyuhiko on the couch.
early in the morning, when chiaki returns home, that couch is empty. fuyuhikos things are gone. there isnt even a note.
and nearly ten years go by before they meet again.
hajime and chiaki get married. they settle down. they get an actual house, shockingly enough, and they end up adopting a kid. they start to get the surgeries they want and need, they change jobs, they branch out. they have support networks, and more experience just living, and maybe chiaki realizes first, maybe she realized a long time ago, maybe she knows that her husband loves her dearly but understands that there is a piece of him irrevocably tied to someone who isnt there. she knows. she gets it.
she doesnt force it. doesnt bring it up. leaves it to the man she loves to discover on his own, and he’ll confide in her if he needs to.
and then, in their mid 30s, on one nice afternoon, hajime and chiaki take their daughter to the zoo in the city. its warm and sunny, the place is full but not too crowded, and their daughter is around six or seven. shes tugging her dad around by the hand, unbelievably excited, and hajime is indulgent and laughing as chiaki trails after them.
they approach the part of the exhibit where the cranes are, tall and majestic and white, with their curved necks and sharp beaks. hajimes daughter runs to the edge of the balcony, jumping up and peering over it, and he calls after her to slow down, that hes only so fast. she looks back, but something catches her eye.
the man standing beside her, a couple feet away, has his sleeves rolled up.
“daddy!” she calls, as hajime approaches. “why does have pictures on his arms?”
hajime looks, down, at the colors that swirl across the mans skin. up across scars and the loose white dress shirt he wears. the fairly nice camera held in hands with long, lithe fingers that are far too familiar.
hes almost afraid to look up too far. his chest aches.
he does anyway, and meets a single golden eye, soft pink lips parted in surprise, as he and fuyuhiko are face to face again.
they dont have long to take in whats happening. six year olds are curious and far more observant than their given credit for, and hajimes daughter scoots closer, asking about the ink in fuyuhikos arms. what that is, what the pictures are. it distracts him, from staring into hajimes eyes, and after a brief moment of hesitation, he leans down and starts to explain tattoos, that his were very traditionally done, that he usually hides them but it was just so nice today.
he glances back up into hajimes eyes. says he doesnt really care what people think right now.
chiaki, a ways behind them, finally approaches, and greets fuyuhiko warmly. explains to their daughter that hes an old friend, that they havent seen him in a long time, and that her dad and he have a lot to catch up on. picking up the little girl, briefly squeezing her husbands shoulder and giving fuyuhiko a warm, steady look, she walks away, and the two men are left alone.
for a while, neither of them know what to say. finally, fuyuhiko asks about the kid, if shes, yknow, theirs or not. no, hajime laughs, they adopted. but he adores her, takes her to school, runs around with her outside, plays video games with her. theyre just in the city for a day trip, today, and have plans to go out to eat before heading back home.
its silent again, for a while. he asks how long fuyuhiko will be in the area. quietly, achingly. how much longer until i lose you again.
but fuyuhiko laughs a little, fiddles with his camera. hes actually in the city for school, weirdly enough. hes a lot older than most of his peers in his classes, but hes back to get a degree, maybe get a real job. hes done with all the shit from before, cut ties with the yakuza. its the first time he openly admits what hes been doing for the past eighteen years, and hajimes heart aches. that he wasnt able to help, wasnt able to pull fuyuhiko out of that.
they look at each other, and realize they dont know the person standing next to them. not anymore.
but somehow… that doesnt really matter. maybe the new person standing in their place is worth knowing too.
as they talk, hajime texts chiaki. when he gets a response, he invites fuyuhiko to come with them to dinner that night, for old times’ sake. he agrees, and actually joins the three of them wandering around the zoo for the rest of the afternoon too.
they take the train together, eat dinner. fuyuhiko is incredibly sweet with their daughter, falls in love with her instantly. shes bright and curious and talkative and constantly moving, and she points out that hes shorter than even her mommy and he cant even find it in himself to get mad.
at the end of the night, they have to go home. hajime, chiaki, and their daughter back to town, fuyuhiko back to his apartment. they say their goodbyes, and hajime lingers, unable to keep himself from hugging fuyuhiko for far longer than he should, far longer than what would be considered normal. cant stop himself from reaching up and brushing his fingers against fuyuhikos cheek below his fake eye.
he asks if fuyuhiko has a cell number thats available. fuyuhiko smiles and pulls out his phone.
they stay in contact over the next few weeks. their both busy with work and fuyuhiko with school, and they steer clear of talking about anything too hard, but they text almost daily. its not that hajime is neglecting his family either, hes just… there was always some space, a hole in his life that never felt right. and now theres something there, and it doesnt quite fit properly yet, but hes willing to just be happy its there at all.
fuyuhiko mentions reconnecting with peko, reconnecting with his sister. going to classes, exploring the city. he sends dumb selfies of him and his new puppy, and hajime sends pictures back of his daughter covered in paint from when they were painting the bathroom.
a few weeks in, chiaki asks if fuyuhiko should come over for dinner some time, maybe even to stay the night on their couch. like old times. hajime is reluctant, at first, memories of the last time that happened cropping up. but theyre older now, and fuyuhiko has responsibilities and ties, and he cant run anymore. neither can hajime. so he asks, and fuyuhiko says yes, and they plan for it to be a night where none of them have responsibilities in the morning so they can stay up after the kid’s gone to bed.
they do. dinner is wonderful, of course, and they watch a movie afterward to put their daughter to sleep, and once shes been moved to the bedroom, they break out the sake. fuyuhiko refrains, and hajime and chiaki dont drink much, just enough to loosen their tongues. the three of them talk, about the past, about when they were kids, about their families. about chiaki and hajimes transitions, about how they stayed together despite everything, though there were momentary break ups. fuyuhiko talks about his own journeys, about being caught in a spiral with the mob, about debts and violence and breaking out of it. he talks about how deeply in the closet he was for such a long time, how much it was tearing him apart. he talks about his parents, and his sister, how glad he is that she broke free from them after so long. he talks about boyfriends and one night stands and drunken mistakes.
chiaki tries to say something. tries to get them to talk properly. but hajime shuts it down, still unwilling to go too far.
when they turn in for the night, fuyuhiko on the couch, the two of them talk in bed before sleep. chiaki finally verbally says what shes been thinking for so long, that she thinks hajime loves fuyuhiko, has for a long time, maybe since they were kids. that she thinks he should give it a chance. theyre already two trans people, theyre already all queer, whats one more social transgression?
hajime is quiet. its something hes known, he thinks, for a while. just hasnt wanted to admit it. hasnt wanted to ruin what he has, what hes so meticulously built. hes just grateful fuyuhiko is here again, that hes alive and in hajimes life again for the first time in years. he doesnt want to, cant lose that. not again.
so he keeps it locked down. he says he cant, and he doesnt want to talk about it. chiaki, sadly, turns over, and flicks off the light.
in the morning, hajime gets up and finds the couch empty. for a moment, he panics, before realizing there are sounds coming from the kitchen, and when he enters, he finds fuyuhiko making breakfast. hes not doing a great job. hes not really much of a cook. but he wanted to pay them back for how kind and open theyve been, how accepting theyve been of him being back in their lives. he wants to show how grateful he is.
hajime just laughs, and says if he wants to do that, he can show it by letting hajime help so that breakfast doesnt burn. fuyuhiko cant really argue with that. they move around each other like its second nature, like theyve done it forever. like this is how its supposed to be.
when chiaki appears in the doorway, they dont see her at first. but she watches, and she smiles, and when they do notice her arrival, she slots into the dance easily. like there was always going to be space for her.
their daughter is sad that uncle hiko has to go home, but he promises he’ll be back. maybe he’ll even bring a present for her next time he comes over for dinner. that gets her excited. he looks up at hajime and winks, says maybe he’ll bring a present for him and chiaki too. it makes hajimes face feel warm, and he shoves the sappy thoughts away before they can get too strong.
for a while, they live in this limbo. fuyuhiko comes over for dinner, spends time with their daughter, watches movies and plays board games and rants about school with them. he and hajime text constantly when hes not around. his absence leeches into everything, now, far more openly than before, and even for chiaki. she finds herself missing him when she and her daughter watch a movie the girl loves for the millionth time, because the last time they watched it he was here. theres a cold spot on the couch where fuyuhiko should be sitting.
one day, hajime runs into peko, very suddenly. its been a long time since theyve seen each other, with her having her own life, and him being busy with work. they were never that close when they were young anyway. but he asks her to get coffee, spontaneously, and to his surprise she agrees. they talk, skirting around the elephant in the room for a while, but eventually it becomes impossible not to talk about fuyuhiko. peko is happy to hear hes been coming over so much, mentions that she and him have remained in contact as well, though not the extent hes maintained contact with the nanamis. they mostly talk about school, if shes honest.
she admits, quietly, that she used to love him. that part of her probably always will. but shes happy with her girlfriend, and glad that she has him as a friend at the very least. and she thinks hes happier with hajime anyway.
hajime stammers that theyre not, like, together, hes not with fuyuhiko, not like, well, like that. peko just tilts her head and gives him a knowing look, takes a sip of her coffee. says something about chiaki being reasonable, about how it hardly matters. says that the people who really matter wont care.
it lingers in hajimes head for a long time. eventually, he cant stand it, and he sits down with chiaki to have a long talk about this, about how he loves her so much and he doesnt want to leave her, that he cant, but that at the same time, he does love fuyuhiko. he can admit that, finally. he wants to be able to hold fuyuhiko, to kiss him, to be close with him and feel that warmth between them. and all chiaki does is smile, agree that he deserves that, that she wants fuyuhiko in their lives too. that he doesnt have to leave her to be with fuyuhiko. that she wants this for both of them.
hajime plans meticulously. something nice, maybe even fancy, but not too over the top. fuyuhiko likes subtlety, likes class. doesnt like too much attention on something like this. they decide to wait until their daughters class trip, so she’ll be out of the house for a few days, chiaki with her as a chaperone. itll just be the two men.
fuyuhiko is surprised by the invitation, but he doesnt say no. hes nervous, obviously. he doesnt know what hajime does, is scared if taking things too far. hes loved hajime for years, has known for years, and he doesnt want to fuck this up like he did when they were in their 20s. when he was far more hurt and far more scared and far more reckless. hes come to terms with the fact that hes never gonna have more, that he missed out, didnt manage to get the guy, and is happy enough to just have hajime in his life like he does.
they go out to dinner, just the two of them. hajime mentions at least twice that chiaki helped him plan this whole thing, trying to get across her approval. hes not sure it works, and fuyuhiko seems generally bewildered by the heavier atmosphere, confused by hajimes insistence on paying, and how hajime asks him to get in the car but wont tell him where theyre going.
their daughters class trip is for a festival, to see the bigger celebrations in the city. but there are still smaller ones here, in their hometown, and when hajime parks the car on a hill and gets out, and fuyuhiko looks down on the lights of the festival and the garlands and moving rivers of people down below, hes not confused anymore.
okay, maybe thats a lie. he is still confused. but he knows sort of why theyre here.
they sit and watch the lights, watch the sun go down and the stars twinkle into existence. they talk, mostly about nothing, about life, about school and work. they eat karinto, because hajime knows its fuyuhikos favorite, and they make jokes at each others expense and laugh and get close. and then theres a lull in the conversation.
hajime quietly asks if he can try something. asks fuyuhiko not to freak out when he does. as confused and scared as that makes him, fuyuhiko agrees.
and hajime kisses him.
theyre not drunk this time. they dont have that excuse. fuyuhiko is frozen, unsure how to respond, if he should, if hes allowed. when his voice comes back, he croaks something about chiaki. hajime reminds him that she helped plan this whole thing. “even this?” “…well, maybe not down to the exact details. but kissing you was the end goal, so… yeah. even this.”
fuyuhiko cant barely believe whats happening, can barely breathe. hajime murmurs something about needing him, about the hole in his life that had been there so long it had turned to normalcy. how fuyuhikos return had upended that normalcy, had made that hole in his chest ache like crazy because finally something was here that could fill it. how hed denied himself even the ability to consider it because he was afraid of taking that leap.
he says how funny it is, that after all this time, theyre both still running away.
fuyuhiko sets his jaw, cups hajimes face in his hands, and kisses him back.
they stay for a while, on that hill, with the distant sounds of the festival and their sweets forgotten between them. trading kisses and soft touches, hardly any words. its hard not to just get lost in it, this feeling of completion, of two pieces that never quite fit right finally finding the angle that makes them match. hajime insists that chiaki supports this, that when she comes home fuyuhiko can ask her. that she’ll be thrilled. that their daughter will be confused, sure, but ultimately fine. she’ll come to understand as she gets older. it’ll be hard, and weird, and they wont always get to be open about it.
but he doesnt care. he just wants to lie here, pressing his lips to fuyuhikos, and running his hands over the mans skin like its all hes ever wanted in his life.
eventually, they have to leave. its chilly, and theyre both tired and full of both food and warmth. on the drive back, hajimes hand lingers on fuyuhikos thigh, warm and heavy. at some point, fuyuhiko takes it in his own, brings it to his lips and kisses the knuckles. he flushes when he does, and all hajime does is smile and stroke his cheek.
chiaki is, as we already know, supportive. she insists that she knows hajime loves them both, that shes confident in their relationship, and that she cares about fuyuhiko too. they tell their daughter that if she sees daddy kissing uncle hiko, its perfectly okay, and mommy knows and is happy for them. she gets it, eventually. kids are smart, and a lot more accepting of things that people give them credit for.
fuyuhiko still stays in school, aiming for his degree. he still has his apartment in the city. but he comes over as often as he can, for family nights, for dates with hajime, for late nights with the married couple talking about adult things. for babysitting their daughter. uncle hiko becomes one of her favorite people, because hes just a little bit too indulgent, and will let her get away with stuff her parents never would. neither of them mind too much. they love watching him interact with their daughter, love that hes in her life. that hes in their lives.
thats all they can ask for.

Favorite doraemon movie?
Ooh, my favorite movie?
There are so many, but Steel Troops is the first thing that comes to mind. I absolutely adored that one song, I have it memorised in both Japanese and Hindi-
Then that one dog movie? Peko and the five explorers? It's because of this movie that I was really confused about how the time travel in the doraemon-verse worked.
There was also that one movie, I don't remember its name, but the floor mats under Nobita's room became a doorway to another planet and their space ship? With that pink space rabbit? I absolutely adored that movie!
There was another movie that I absolutely loved, in hindi it was called "Yeh bhi tha Nobita, Woh Bhi Tha Nobita", although it's known as Legend of The Sun King in other languages, I think? I don't even know why but 8-year-old me was so fascinated by the fact that Nobita had so many look-alikes. I mean, all the males from his side of the family look the same when they were younger. But his mom also looks the same as him when she's both younger and older?? I thought that was so cool and I don't even know why.
And there was also this movie, I'm not sure what it's called otherwise, but in hindi it was known as 'Jadoo Mantar aur Jahnoom' (I think it was Great Adventure into the Underworld?) I loved that movie so much!!
Honestly, it's these 5 doraemon movies that have a special place in my heart, that I'll always remember.

i love akane and fuyuhiko's dynamic!! i think post simulation they are just even more like siblings. you got it exactly with the "both think they are the older sibling and both are wrong” thing. i love seeing content for them, they have so much potential. do you have any more hcs for akane + fuyuhiko sibling dynamic or how they would interact with each other post simulation?
Not really headcanons, but they are the 2 characters who have extensive experience with like, the Darker Things even before the Academy. So I figure they might bond a bit over this whole thing not really being their first rodeo of nasty stuff (I think it said that Akane was used to seeing people dead on the streets, and either Fuyuhiko or Peko mention that death and violence is a normal part of their everyday lives).
Also the canon part where Fuyuhiko tries to get Akanento open up about her grief! (I'd call him a hypocrite, but if he's open about anything besides his violent tendencies it's his grief for Peko). Idk, Fuyuhiko very awkwardly trying to get Akane to talk about her emotions and she's just like "aww haha. No. <3 bye". Akane might be the only survivor more closed off and emotionally constipated than Fuyuhiko (HajiZuru notwithstanding bc I dont know if there's canon interpretation of the Them Merged). Sounds hilarious tbh.

Birthday origami rec (teacup-tai)
(Please click on the image for better quality! Thank you to the lovely @curlyy-hair-dont-care for looking this over)
Tumblr media
Image description: A deep purple origami tea bag. The tea bag has ‘tai’s chai’ handwritten on it in cursive in gold ink. The tea label has the Cancer zodiac sign drawn on it in gold ink. I chose purple as it is tai’s favourite colour.
Happy birthday @teacup-tai! 🥳💜 tai, you are such a lovely, talented bean and I’m so glad to call you a friend. Thank you for always being so kind, and all your encouragement for fandom and life things. It’s always a pleasure to talk to you and beta for you❣️
Thank you so much for the ko-fi! I wanted to take the opportunity to fold this origami tea bag for my fellow tea lover friend’s birthday. If I were to choose a tea to match the essence of tai’s writing, I would go with Dilmah’s Pure Ceylon Broken Orange Pekoe. As in the tea’s description, tai’s writing is rich and steeped with strong emotions and thrill, in various genres and tropes, that will keep you immersed from start to end.
Not only does tai pour her heart into her own fics, but also in reccing others’ fics. You can check out her lovingly curated reclists on her masterlist post here. The post also contains three of the fave fics she wrote, and I highly recommend reading them!
Here are some of my own picks of tai’s gorgeous fics. Please leave some love for them and check out more of her fics on her ao3 and tumblr!
A Home by the Sea (E, 10778) (Drarry)
I press my face against your neck, smelling like home and warmth and peace. This is what being with you feels like nowadays: peaceful, certain, like the waves on the sea in a never-ending dance. An ode to falling in love later in life. To this kind of love that is mature, stable and comforting.
All Rivers Merge into the Sea (T, 3450) (Pansy)
Pansy was dragged by the heavy river tide that moved the Parkinsons into the dark belly of war. But all rivers follow their own path before merging into the sea, vast and unknown, and Pansy would similarly find the opportunity to become her own person, not really knowing who she would turn out to be.
Space Bodies (M, 1494) (Drarry) (TW: mention of suicide ideation, mention of transphobia)
She tastes like a love story.
The Truth Runs Wild (E, 3026) (Blairon)
It’s Harry’s fault and his whole ‘gay awakening’ and all the shit he had to hear Harry talk him through, in the name of friendship and supportive brotherhood. But honestly, if Zabini licking his lips can be this sensual, what could he do with a dick in his mouth? Ron flushes, because he cannot be honestly thinking about Blaise Zabini and blowjobs. Like, he’s straight, right. Right?
Only Fools Fall (WIP) (E, 5310) (Blairon)
Blaise planted a kiss against Ron’s temple and moved away to watch him with big black attentive eyes. “I only wanna make you feel good,” he assured him. And Ron felt himself blush, because Zabini was looking soft and warm and it was making things inside Ron’s chest turn and pull. This was getting way too real. Or: Ron wants more, then he gets pretty confused. So Tai decided to write a Blaise/Ron love story out of it. Sequel to The Truth Runs Wild.
Young Love (WIP) (E, 33876) (Drarry, Wolfstar, Snily)
Adolescence is tough for teens and parents alike. Or: Harry has a thing for older guys, Draco has a homophobic pure-blood family, Lily doesn’t have the patience, Sirius needs another drink, Narcissa asks for help, James is a good dad, Snape wishes he wasn’t involved at all, and Remus just really wanted to have a chill Christmas break for a change.

I want some good ol platonic sibling love, I request fuyuhiko and hiyoko (sdra2) with a big brother reader who loves to tease him (ex: ruffles his hair, uses him as a handstand, you know)
“Shorty!”
Tumblr media
M-I: I love platonic stuff and this idea is so cute :D Hope you like this, anon!!
Summary: Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko with a male!older brother who likes teasing them for their height
Pairings: Fuyuhiko + reader, Hiyoko + reader
FUYUHIKO KUZURYU
Let’s ignore the fact that I had to search up his last name and check Google every second to make sure I spelt it right
First of all, he just goes defensive mode when you tease him, especially in front of the Kuzuryu Clan members, he’ll freak out and go knuckles from sth on you. But, you are his older sibling so he guesses he can spare you, for now at least. Still, goes crazy when you tease him. “How does it feel to be the size of a smurf?”
In private though, he doesn’t chew you out as much as he does in front of other people. Just groans, looks up at you, groans again, and walks away. He knows you won’t stop with your teasing, always calling him short and asking him ridiculous things that only a “short person could accomplish” (your words, not his). He tried his best to piss you off the same way you do to him, but it ends up backfiring when you use him as some sort of arm rest.
When you do this in front of Peko? She just stands there and watches as you tease the shit out of him, while he tries to remain his tough Kuzuryu persona up. “Aw, you’re a midget!” You chuckle, grinning down at him as you watched his face turn beet red, then proceed to silently scream at you for your bold teasing. You have no shame when it comes to him, which he isn’t sure to be proud of or not.
In the killing game, he, again, keeps his “tough Kuzuryu persona” up, even in front of you. He thought you’d stop your teasing now that you’re both in a very serious situation, but you don’t. In fact, it only gets worse. The teasing becomes more frequent, with you randomly showing up and deciding to use him as an armchair once more. Fuyuhiko doesn’t know what to think of this, but Peko suggests that it could be a way of coping through this killing game, which made him a little bit more okay with your teasing.
Doesn’t know how to feel about it, but accepts that it’s his fate and can’t escape it. Since you’re his older brother, it makes the chances lower of you ever going to stop.
HIYOKO SAIONJI
Annoyed, embarrassed, confused, raging, might press the quit button for self control.
She hates the fact that you taunt her about her height. Calls you immature for it, but that only boosts the need to tease her even more about it. Also has the mindset of “only I can bully my brother”, so whoever agrees with her or calls you annoying will be last seen being lowered in their grave while she calls you weird for bullying her for her height.
“Big sis Mahiru, he’s being mean to me for my height!” “Koizumi, you can’t deny the fact that she’s really short. Agree with me on this.” Koizumi thinks about it for a minute, before hesitantly nodding her head, hoping that Hiyoko won’t go overkill on her for this.
When you do this in front of other people, she just stands there and looks at you with the most done expression she could muster. You can tell she’s ready to hunt you down and throw you into the Marina Trench so you’ll never be found, but you don’t back down which probably only makes her anger worse. Hiyoko, similarly to Fuyuhiko, tries to bully you in order to stop your taunting against her height. She fails, you become smug, she ends up becoming some type of birds nest and next thing you know, her hair is a mess from you ruffling it up.
When she gets her growth spurt, you don’t know what to make of it. So, you dramatically wail to her that she’s not your little shorty anymore, to which she decides to turn the tables and call you a shorty. That is, if you’re shorter than her. If you’re the same height, you purposely tiptoe around her to make it seem like you’re at least an inch taller than her. If you’re still taller than her.. well, of course the teasing won’t stop. (She despises it)
When you’re in the killing game, surprisingly, your teasing sort of.. lessens. Although it still occurs, it doesn’t happen as much as it did in the past. She comes to the conclusion that it’s probably ‘cause of this whole killing game. Hiyoko gets it, you wanna survive along with her but still tryna be the older brother, playing it off and trying to remain as calm as you can appear to be. You fail at fooling her though.
When she dies, um.. You’re very, very devastated. You’re always gloomy, walking around with a frown on your face, and with no one to tease.. What is there to do?
[Tell me if you want anything changed, anon!]

Akane, Aoi, Tenko,Peko,Mahiru,Mukuro and Maki with a male reader like Older twin Kyou sawagi from ben-to
Kyou has somewhat of a contradictory personality, being overconfident and aggressive at one moment, and childish and immature the next. She also tends to disrespect her beaten opponents by putting baskets on their heads, though will show respect to those who have helped her. She has a tendency to lean over her sister's shoulder after a very intense moment. Also she loves fighting and is very good at it.
Hope that description helps with the making the post
The description does help, thank you :)
I left out Aoi and Akane because I kinda covered them in the other Ben-To request, so half their headcanons would pretty much be recycled. I hope that's alright
Tenko, Peko, Mahiru, Mukuro and Maki with an S/O Who's Like Kyou Sawagi (Ben-To)
Tenko Chabashira
"So you fight other people for bentos? Why? That's so... Dumb!"
She acts like a tsundere about it, but it, but she secretly thinks it sounds fun
She'd probably wanna join you at least once
But you'd have to be the one to ask her
Then you'll share the bento you earned
She doesn't understand the basket thing, and she asks about it
"Hey, what's with the baskets? Are you disrespecting the girls?!"
"Tenko, I put them on the guys' heads as well-"
"No excuses!"
When you ask her how she feels about bento brawling, she's just like "it's alright, I guess... Idiot!"
When it comes to your personality, she gets irritated sometimes
Your overconfident aggression sometimes makes her want to slap you
Then all of a sudden, you're acting like a child
Your sudden mood swings give her whiplash
You're good at fighting, like her, which she loves
You love to train together, and you usually make it a date
Tenko just can't keep up with you sometimes, but she eventually grows to love it
Peko Pekoyama
"So... You brawl people for bentos? That is... Interesting."
She finds it interesting, and might come to watch you
If swords were allowed, she may even join you if you asked
But it's clearly called bento brawling, not bento, erm, stabbing
But she's fine with just watching
She doesn't understand the basket thing, but she doesn't ask
When it comes to your mood swings, she doesn't really know what to do
She can handle your overconfidence, but when you start acting like a child, she kinda just freezes
She has no idea how to handle children, or people who act like one
But she tries her best
She's glad you're good at fighting
If anyone tries anything, you can beat them up
She'll still watch out for you tho
Mahiru Koizumi
I also covered her, but I had more to write for her, so whatever
We already know her feelings on bento brawling
She finds the whole thing to be silly and stupid
She patches you up and scolds you after every fight
She finds the basket thing very weird and confusing
"Uh... Why'd you put baskets on their heads?"
She thinks your overconfident aggression to be super annoying
So is your childishness, but she's friends with Hiyoko, so she can handle that side of you better
She admires your fighting skills
Mahiru gets very exhausted, but she still loves you
Mukuro Ikusaba
"Brawling other people over a bento? Um... Okay."
She doesn't understand why you do this, but she doesn't question it
And it sounds kinda fun, honestly
She's more used to using knives and guns, so she probably won't be too good with her fists
She's not bad, but she's the Ultimate Soldier, not the Ultimate Brawler
So she's perfectly fine watching on the sidelines while you do it
Then she'll patch up any wounds you get
She doesn't understand why you put baskets on people's heads, but she doesn't ask
And about your personality, she doesn't really know what to do
She doesn't mind your overconfidence, and sometimes, your aggression startles her
She has no idea what to do when you start acting like a child
She's glad you're good at fighting, because you can defend yourself when you need it
Doesn't mean she won't protect you tho
In the end, you're kind of hard to keep up with, but Mukuro still loves you
Maki Harukawa
"You brawl with people over a bento? Why? That sounds dumb."
She doesn't really get it, but oh well, you do you
She'll come to watch you if you ask, but then she'll sigh and act like it's a chore
Maki is Maki y'know
She actually kind of enjoys watching you
Then she'll ask you about the baskets
"Why did you put baskets on their heads?"
Your sudden changes in personality can be pretty irritating
On one hand, you're acting cocky and aggressive, which is irritating enough
Then you're suddenly acting like a child
Though she did act as the Ultimate Child Caregiver, so she can actually handle this side of you
She hates kids, but she's good with them
She's glad you can fight so you can defend yourself
She'll still watch out for you though
Just in case
Maki might act a little tsundere-ish at times, but don't be fooled
She does love you <3

Ok let me try to catch up with Joe's asks XD
What's Tea's favorite activities to do with the boys?
Does Tea have any other family besides Kettle?
And most importantly... How the heck did Tea and Joe get their rings on their handles? (I swear if they broke the handles off and glued them back on like the boys did in that one episode)
XD
Tea and the boys enjoy going to the shops. This means she can get them clothes and stuff and they'll each get a bagging of candy of their choosing so while they hate having to get new clothes they get what they want too. They also like to plant things together (before she was a cook, she was a gardener like her dad. She's not as good with flowers as she is with veggies, but she can do it.) They all three like to draw together.
She and Cuphead race each other. Unladylike, but does it look like Tea is the kind of person to care? Cuphead's a fan of taste testing her food too. He just isn't allowed to touch the stove until he's calm enough. When she bakes though, his favorite thing is to decorate anyways.
Tea and Mugman, since he's more docile, do more docile things. Speaking of cooking, he IS allowed to help because he's not going to throw baking powder at the ceiling fan or something. He learned some from Elder Kettle, and even more from her. They also dance together, even if it hurts her really bad. But she won't say it does, so he doesn't know.
---
She has an aunt named Pekoe! (kettle's older sister)
---
Nope! The rings are very malleable, they just open the ring up some, put it on, then clamp it back down.

Member of  a The idol group  Charmix . Masaki is truly an Innocent , Eccentric and Blunt Person he often is Misinterpreted as being cold or Uptight pretty  often , Mainly by fans of Peko . Usually he’ll end unintentionally roasting someone giving his Two cents . He is generally considered the “ Cute, Sassy”  member of Charmix. Masaki’s Personailty can summed up with “ I’m not Mean. , I’m just not Interested.”
Masaki is often seen wandering around the school after getting done with Studying . Daigo and Sento are often still in Clubs or Class so he  happily Wanders  around usually  which often Leads to Getting himself caught up in situations Masaki wouldn’t get into otherwise simply because  he was right there or Curious.
. Usually  Masaki just End up working the Cafe. So being invited in often gets invited into clubs cause people think he’s lonely floating around the halls.Dosen't bother him .
Masaki Is Known for being pretty intelligent but also rather mischievous but ,naive can be easily sweet talked into doing something “ interesting “.
But also capable of knowingly messing with people .
Masaki rarely Talks about his Family his Brothers are … Kind of Mean and Cruel to anyone ,but Masaki.  In fact, they've probably already come up with 5 ways to Ruin the careers of every dorm member if they  found out anyone did him wrong .His father and Mother have a complex relationship. All we know is that He was Very Sheltered as Child and Worked to become an Idol to Hopefully circumvent this Over protective attitude his older Brothers have
Unique Magic :  Fairy Skin

His Birthday’s The Date Kamen Rider W premiered ,I've name alot of gardevoirs Philip so....
yes, Charmix is an Intentional Winx Reference. Bite me .
Fan of Shade and Pulse, Kinda makes sense considering,Mystery dungeon.. you know that  .
Masaki Participated in the SDC/VDC for Hourglass Station along with Sento,Daigo and a Few Other students … So ,We Rewriting the Results of Vil’s Chapter , People were  so focused on RSA and NRC  Rivalry that  HSA taking second came out of Left Field. This mainly an Idea I Had after looking Into The EN Situation .
the fact that they are Famous is Onigashima for singing songs  in various Anime , Games and Toku is also a Large factor that didnt think Vil think about. Shu Did Tell Vil about how Charmix’s Popularity would Skew the vote with a lot of students from Onigashima but, Vil Was too focused on beating Neige to pay attention ,Until he Saw their  Performance. NRC got dead last.
Masaki said his Horn used to be on his head but it  gradually  shrunk and he Grew the one on His Chest .
When his Horn Is touched Masaki becomes Paralyzed  as the feeling Every emotion in a Person's body is overwhelming.
He has Shown  Prowess in his Mental abilities .
It’s Suggested that His brother are Twisted from Claydol and Malmar.
you might think Claydol Is Weird but Kamen Rider Fan would get the Joke as Wakana Philip’s Sister is the Clay Doll Dopant.

Evolnation Story Chapter 13
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emma sat on the floor, still crying and sobbing as her sisters got closer to her… Macie also stepped forward and spoke Up.
"Emma… I am sorry but… you don't have to Despair anymore… there is a way you can do your own thing and be free. I made a recording with the help of the Tetravania dorm head of what the Management threatened you with… you have a choice to be free…"
Emma lifted her head to reveal her ink-stained face… the gem which was black finally got some shimmer back and so as previously you got engulfed in a White light….
The first thing you saw was Emma as a little kid… but with each time the dorm to this room opened… an older woman came in with a different guy and more siblings joined her playing on the ground with her. More and more you also saw how the previous smiles they had faded each time a new one came… until soon some of the sisters even left the room… causing Emma to look at her Mom, drunk on the Couch in pity…
She smoked and then drank another bottle of wine. With a smoke you moved on to a stage… where Emma as a young Girl still had long hair and her Mom stood next to her Smoking…
"Emma… you can do better than this, sing Higher… dance more controlled."
"Mother… my feet hurt…"
"And if they were bleeding… you need to perfect this before the audition."
And so the little Girl danced with a pain stained face… crying during…
"Be a good Girl for Mommy… we need enough money for your next step."
And so the smoke faded in again…
You were back in the room, however her mother raised her hand against her and her cheek was red.
"You dare try to defy me… I am your Mother and you have to do what I say..  or without me you can live on the streets…"
"I am sorry, I am sorry." She cried as her mother yelled at her continually.
"If you are not useful to me I have to sell you elsewhere…and you don't want that do you. "
Emma started crying but nodded.
"Yes mother."
Another smoke brought you to a glimpse of a more older Emma who had her first concert.
She seemed to do it with more ease but after it she left the stage unsatisfied…
Her management stopped her in her tracks with a smile.
"Wonderful… you impress as much as your sisters… your Mother would be proud."
As she walked by them, however, they stopped her from going out of the backstage Passage.
"We did notice you did not abide by all of what we told you to…didn't we say if you don't agree to our terms and cause trouble, you and your Mother are going to pay for it…"
Emma's eyes grew dark and she clenched her fist…
"I know that… alright I will wear that costume you instructed me to…" The light faded away once again and back, to see her sisters, Macie and you stand before her.
Emma tried to reach them…
"I am glad most of you have left our mother… because staying with her caused me nothing but pain… the Management as well… I should have… tried to do something sooner but… I thought smiling and enduring will bring me through this contract."
Macie kneeled down to her and hugged her while Sylvette,  Glacia and the others followed her.
Emma once again smiled among all her tears…
"This will be a new start… a new me… that doesn't hide her problems anymore."
Macie looked at her…
"If I knew my revenge would harm others I would also have not done what I did… I am sorry Emma…"
Emma put her hands on her shoulders and smiled…
"Guess you have to beat Peko in another Music battle next time."
They both chuckled and smiled at each other… as the light slowly cracks like a Mirror.

My favorite 'random theory/headcanon' for people who think V3 happens in the Hope's Peak Universe and all the 'Dr is fiction' stuff is bullshit, is the 'Kaede Akamatsu and Natsumi Kuzuryu are twin sisters'. Because A) if the 'Kaede has a Younger twin sister' it makes sense since Natsumi's birthday is the day after Kaede's (March 26th and 27th) B) it would make sense for Natsumi to have been in the Main buildings Music room during the twilight saga (which had a piano) AND give her further reason to think she was the Ultimate Lil Sis as well as fuel her inferiority complex, C) They look similar, D) Kaede and Fuyuhiko both being super into upholding the law, but also 75% ready to murder, and E) I find the potential dynamics SUPER interesting
More headcanon rambling under the cut
Kaede called them 'Fuyu' and 'Natsu' for short
Fuyuhiko just occasionally tells people about his 'little sister' but never specifies which lil sister, or the fact he has two (which leads to people being confused as to how he can have a Sister whose super outgoing and friendly, yet really mean and has no friends)
Natsumi gave Kaede the nickname 'Piano Idiot'
Kaede refers to Fuyuhiko as her 'Big Brother' rather than 'Older Brother', mostly out of habit
Kaede goes by their mother's maiden name because she wanted her talent to speak for itself in the Piano contests, not fear for her families names
Kaede and Fuyuhiko ROASTING each other
Fuyuhiko: You gonna get over your dumb-ass reservations about riding bikes? Kaede: You gonna hit a growth spurt? Fuyuhiko:... You gonna ask out that Detective (or insert whoever you ship her with here)? Kaede: You gonna ask out Peko? Natsumi: You're both stupid. Kaede is so used to the deadly aura around her, so she 100% doesn't notice Maki's blood lust, nor all the references she may be an assassin.
Kaede's class being FLOORED when they finally meet her siblings. Mostly because the sweet optimistic Pianist who scolds them for breaking the rules IS IMMEDIATELY FAMILY TO THE BIGGEST YAKUZA FAMILY IN JAPAN and it only came out because she nearly tackled her brother in a hug when they did a class meet up with 77-b.
I imagine Soda and Teruteru walking up to Fuyuhiko like "How dare you have not one but TWO cute sisters" And Fuyuhiko claiming both his sisters are fucking insane, but also thinking No one's good enough for them.
ANYONE WHO DATE'S KAEDE HAS TO GO THROUGH A 'SHOVEL' TALK WITH FUYUHIKO AND KAEDE, except it's less of a 'Hurt her and we'll hurt you' and more of a 'If you hurt our sister, no one will ever know you existed.'
After their parents realized Kaede had a talent for Piano, their mother became very strict about what Kaede could and couldn't do.
Once their relationship as siblings is outed in their classes, Kaede will just pop into Fuyuhiko's class to check on him. Chisa lets this slide because she thinks it's cute.
Natsumi gets made if Kaede let's anyone else take pictures of her playing piano. Everyone knows the only exception is if Natsumi's in the picture with her
Natsumi actually knows how to play piano, because when they were younger Kaede wanted to enter a duet competition, but couldn't find a partner.
Kind of a Side headcanon to this:
Peko and Maki recognize each other as hitwomen within moments of meeting. They also have an unspoken agreement of 'I won't reveal you work for the Kuzuryu's if you don't out me to my class as an Assasin'. At first, Peko wasn't sure if this deal included Kaede, but after hearing her talk about Maki as a 'Child Caregiver' she knew she shouldn't say a word.
Peko is the reason Kaede doesn't know it wasn't normal to just compliment girls.
Peko is just as protective of Kaede as she is Natsumi.
After v3 Headcannon's:
(I imagine that there was some memory fuckery to make it make sense, but this is DR so memory fuckery is par for the course)
The survivors look for the families of those killed in the killing game to give them some closure.
Shuichi ends up being the one who has to tell Kaede's family.
Imagine his shock when Future Foundation gets him in contact with the Head of the Yakuza (and his wife Peko), whose on some island somewhere.
He has to tell Fuyuhiko that Kaede is dead.
Then he's asked to elaborate on how Kaede died.
Fuyuhiko can't ever look at a Piano again. Something that meant so much to one of his little sisters. But after knowing they both died in proximity to one? One being murder in cold blood, the other framed? He can't stand the sight of it.
He still has Kaede's favorite brought to the island in her memory, but neither of them set foot in the music venue where it stands, never to be used by its owner again.
Peko grieves by learning a few simple songs (not the one Kaede was forced to play in death), but it brings her comfort and she imagines she's playing with the girls that she grew up with, her sister-in-law's who never got to see the day they'd get to have that title.
V3 simulation AU because i hurt my own heart: Kaede moves to Jabberwock Island to live with Fuyuhiko and Peko, mostly to help her regain her memories of Hopes peak and to come to terms with the fact her younger sister is dead
Her class visits (usually just video calls)

Coolio.
Context:Rex is part of a project involving university age students. Transferred from Corvus Academy, he's in as the Ultimate Security Contractor alongside his friends. And he's also 90% robotics and a living weapon. Also, he and tsumugi are technically from an alternate timeline and older than they look, but that is a whole new can of worms.
Makoto: Rex...
Rex: I can tell by the tone of your voice that you are disappointed. Alas, I must further disappoint you by affirming how little I give a fuck.
(+)
Miu, with a headache: Advil me up, daddy.
Rex: I will short out the language center of your brain if you say anything like that ever again.
(+)
Rex: I scare people a lot because I walk very softly and they don't hear me enter rooms. So when they turn around, I'm just kind of there and their fear fuels me.
(+)
Rex: I have the sharpest memory here -name one time I forgot something.
Junko: You left me, Mukuro, and Moogs in a Walmart parking lot at 2am a day ago.
Rex: I did that on purpose, try again.
(+)
Tsumugi: Why aren’t you sleeping?
Rex: I’m too busy plotting your murder to sleep, Tsumugi.
Tsumugi: *not buying it*
Rex: ...The nightmares.
Tsumugi: *wrapping their arms around Rex* Awwww, sweetie-
(+)
[After breaking into a research facility taking the successful product of the New Dawn Project]
Hajime, pacing his living room:so…she's like us?
Rex, currently raiding Hajime's kitchen: if by 'like us', you mean a result of heavy human experimentation and are currently filled with forty metric tons of circuitry, machinery, and synthetics, then yes.
Hajime: Okay, cool. So, you basically want me to-
Rex, in the middle of making a club sandwich:-keep an eye on her until there's a secure enough place to put her. You know, babysitting. You've probably done that.
Hajime:a few times, but whatever. However, mind if I tell you what confuses me?
Rex, eating his sandwich: Shoot.
Hajime: why me?
Rex, shrugging: Immediate first thought, I guess.
(+)
Rex, to Ruraka: If I bite into this chicken sandwich and it's sweet, I'm skinning you.
(+)
Johnny: Yo, Kaz, do that R2D2 impression.
Kazuichi, taking a breath:wooooooOOOOOO-
(+)
Junko, acting embarrassed: Wow, you’re such a perverted psycho. Why the fuck would you ask me if I like breasts?
Rex, tired as fuck: [whispers angrily] How many times do I have to tell you we’re at KFC, dumbass?! Why are you like this every time we’re here?
(+)
Rex:*hanging out on the roof*
Kazuichi bursting in: Why didn't you tell me your dad had all that ass?
Rex:*silently looks at him*
Kazuichi: Now hear me out…
(+)
Shuichi: How would you like your pancakes?
Komaru: Plain.
Kaede: With sprinkles!
Hajime: Chocolate chips.
Rex: Potatoes.
*Komaru, Kaede, and Hajime look at Rex*
Rex: What? They're good.
(+)
Rex: Life could be worse, Kaede.
Kaede: Life could be a lot better too!
(+)
Makoto: We need a way to lure in new customers.
Junko: Maybe we could have some fun, interactive events!
Johnny: Kaede bath water.
Kaede: ABSOLUTELY NOT!
(+)
Hajime: I think you're still suffering from the effects of your party last night.
Johnny: All I drank was Redbull!
Hajime: How many?
Johnny: Eighteen.
(+)
Rex: Who the fuck broke the toaster?
Makoto: It was Kaede.
Komaru: It was Kaede.
Hajime: Kaede broke it.
Kaede:
Kaede: ...yOU PROMISED-
(+)
Miu: I’m the sexiest bitch in this therapy waiting room.
(+)
Rex: Good morning. As you begin your day, remember that violence is always an option and often the answer.
Shuichi:
Rex:
Shuichi: ...Please, go back to bed.
(+)
Miu, watching Maki and Peko fight: Are you sure they should be fighting? What if they get hurt?
Rex, not bothered by the chaos: It’s fine. They’re too evenly matched to hurt each other.
Miu: Then... who’s the strongest out of you three?
Peko: Rex.
Maki: Rex.
Rex, the literal living war machine: Me.
(+)
Mukuro: I will find us an armored vehicle and some weapons.
Mukuro: If you two can manage to not kill each other while I'm gone.
Rex: Oh, please. We're not children.
*Mukuro leaves*
Rex, casually: ...Eat shit and die.
Tsumugi, also casually: Yes, fuck you.
(+)
Tsumugi, drinking tea: Ah, Hello again. We really need to stop meeting like this.
Rex, dressed in PJs: Maybe we would, if you would sTOP BREAKING INTO MY FUCKING HOUSE!!!
(+)
Hajime: I can't imagine what Rex is planning. But I can tell you two things. We won't like it and it won't be legal.
(+)
Tsumugi: Wow, Rex, you want to hold my hand before marriage? How awfully lewd of you.
Rex: We literally slept together yesterday.
Tsumugi: That's NOTHING compared to the lewdness of holding hands.
(+)
Rex: Go fuck yourself.
Tsumugi, smugly: Sure, but only if you watch.
(+)
Rex: I fell-
Tsumugi: From heaven?
Rex: No, I literally fell-
Tsumug, doing this on purpose: In love with me the moment you saw me?
Rex: MY ARM IS BROKEN!
Tsumugi: Okay, but do you think I'm pretty? Be honest.
Rex:…fuck you.
(+)
Makoto, walking into their house: Hello, people who do not live here.
Rex: Wassup?
Kaede: Hi!
Shuichi: Hello.
Hajime: Hey.
Makoto: I gave you the key to my place for emergencies only!
Komaru: We were out of Doritos.
(+)
Makoto: I think Komaru is in trouble.
Rex: Alright. Struggling to give a fuck, if I’m honest.
(+)
Rex: I know you love them.
Shuichi: I am not in love with Kaede!
Rex, staring at Shuichi, amused: I never said who...
Shuichi: *realizes*
Shuichi: Shit. Well, anyways-
(+)
Kaede: It’s impossible to make a sentence without using the letter a.
Byakuya: Despite your thinking, it is quite possible, yet difficult, to form one without the specific letter. Here’s one more to further disprove your theory.
Rex: Fuck you.
(+)
*Squad reactions to being told ‘I love you’*
Kaede: Thanks fam!
Komaru: Oh, really? Cool!
Makoto: *smiles* I love you too.
Hajime: Sounds fake, but okay.
Shuichi: *A flustered mess*
Rex: Big mistake.
(+)
Makoto: The floor is lava!
Kaede: *helps Shuichi onto the counter*
Komaru: *kicks Hajime off the sofa*
Rex: *falls face first onto the floor*
Makoto: ...Are you okay?
Rex, muffled: No.
(+)
Miu: *Kicks Rex's bedroom door down looking panicked*
Rex, tired: The fuck's going on?
Miu: Nobody died!
Rex, now wide awake: What did you do?!
(+)
Leon, to Miu: I cannot relate to your ‘E-Girl’ problems.
(+)
Shuichi, about Maki: She's so terrifying yet so lacking in social skills that the most basic conversation feels like a hostage negotiation situation.
(+)
Miu: I only like three things in this world. Money, Bitches, and the Dewey Decimal System!
(+)
Rex: How did you find me?
Micheal: Oh, I saw a huge explosion and wondered 'now, who could that be?'.
(+)
Miu, currently running on two hours of sleep: Is letting someone win at chess sapiosexual bottoming?
Rex, Done™: Does anyone in this goddamn school ever think before they speak?
(+)
Rex: I don't support the violence. *reveals all implanted weapons* I AM the violence.
(+)
Miaya: You often use humor to deflect your severe trauma.
Rex: Thanks.
Miaya: I didn't say that was a good thing.
Rex: What I'm hearing is, you think I'm funny.
(+)
[After blowing up a building]
Rex: This is a mistake.
Junko, enthusiastically: A mistake we're going to laugh about one day!
Rex: But not today, right?
Junko, still enthusiastic: Oh, no. Today's going to be a mess.
(+)
Kokichi: Oh just so you know, it's very muggy outside.
Rex:
Rex: Dude, I swear to fuck, if I step outside and all of the goddamn mugs are out on the front lawn...
Kokichi: *Sips coffee from bowl*
(+)
Shuichi: What the fuck? People actually tell their crushes they like them??
Makoto: What the hell do you do?
Shuichi: I die? What kinda question…
(+)
[After Mahiru finds Rex covered in blood and with surrounding corpses]
Rex: Hold on, I can explain.
Mahiru: Really?! Can you now?!
Rex: I can if you give me a minute to think of a convincing lie.
(+)
Fuyuhiko with a gun to Rex's head: What happens if I pull this trigger? Heaven?
Rex: Bold of you to assume either of us'll go to Heaven.
(+)
Rex: And I’d love to be sorry for that, but we all know I’ve done much, much worse.
So, here are the incorrect quotes. Hope you enjoy.

Welcome!
TOUCHING THOUGHT 2023 BOOK CLUB
Overview
Touching Thought is a book club that engages theory with no foundational understanding of what theory is or should be. If you’re like me, you often avoided highly academic, conceptual, or theory-based writing solely because you did not think it was accessible to you. I grew up believing that I wasn’t terribly smart and that those who were “smart” were those who could read theory and high concept writing and have real conversations. Think impressionist period France, snooty painters and auteurs sitting around small cafe tables gabbing and debating and blowing smoke. That couldn’t be me! As I took on the brave endeavor of attending graduate school with only an art school awarded BFA and 15 years of restaurant experience, I realized that those pieces of knowledge do not have to be beyond my reach. I have also considered that other people—maybe you, even—have felt this way, too. Most of us are faking it until we make it, even those who engage theory on a daily basis or those who make it their work! Why can’t we dip our toes into the pool of knowledge and see what we can say about the experience? That’s what we’ll do. We’ll read something together and we’ll put our brains together and see what we can conceptualize of the writing by combining our lived experiences for the ultimate translation of information! And to be frank, writing that sentence alone has hurt my brain.
Join me, Alej, for this shallow dive into some “theory-ish” and theory materials. I will not make anyone read the communist manifesto, but the intention is that perhaps you will want to dust off some older theory to enrich the way you’re thinking about more modern concepts. We will read the books over 6 or 8 weeks so we have ample time to synthesize the information. This releases the pressure of deadlines! And there will be breaks in between so in-person meetings can take place if desired.
There is a Discord where we will chat at our convenience: https://discord.gg/6rcCsz9p. Resources on how to engage and read theory will be available in the discord.
Books can be ordered at Room of One's Own Bookstore with 10% off for being a part of the book club. A star next to the book signifies that the discount may not be available for that specific title.
