Does anyone else ever go through that thing where you just can’t remember the title of something for the life of you? I read this fic about percy wealsey and oliver wood and I love it. I cried the first time I read it. It is beautiful and amazing, but it’s been deleted (I can’t find it on ao3). I have searched through my history and everything. I’m almost positive it was by alrightginger who I know has deleted all of her fics and has also written percy/oliver content before. Percy and Oliver had a relationship in Hogwarts and reconnected after the war. It’s from Percy’s perspective and he gets invited to Ron’s wedding to Hermione and takes Oliver as his plus one because apparently you can’t go to weddings alone. They end of hooking up after the wedding and continue to do so until a quidditch gala where they fight over if they are dating or not. Percy has all this guilt over Fred and feels like he doesn’t deserve anything. There’s a bunch of internal dialogue about what he can take from Oliver. Percy goes and talks to George and it’s very emotional and beautiful and I did cry. I don’t need to read the fic again because I do have the plot memorized and multiple lines memorized as well. Hello! Love your blog :) I've been looking for a fic called Slip of the Tongue by alrightginger (it's been recced here before), but it seems like all of their writing has disappeared off the face of the earth! Does anyone have a saved copy of it or know where to find it?

Hi ahh! I hope this doesn’t come off as weird but I know you and alrightginger wrote together for a while and I just recently went back to check out one of her works and noticed that her fics and blog are gone. I hope everything is okay( not really asking for details that might not be okay to share) ahhh…This is just the fifth account that’s vanished into thin air in the last couple months and I know the others were for safety reasons. Unrelated fandoms but they were getting some pretty serious targeted attacks against them so I hope that isn’t the case.

S is safe and we still talk nearly every day. We still write together... And hope to be on bookshelves one day.

Forewarned for tangents!

Tangent One: Back in December, I submitted my MS thesis about the impact fanfic has on trade publishing (use of ao3 tags for pitching/marketing, the evolution of internet consumer culture, etc). In my survey section, I asked fanfic writers on when they think their AUs verge more toward original. All fascinating discussions on how each person defines fanfic differently!

Tangent Two: According to FFN (derogatory), I’ve been writing this particular AU since 2011. The origin story is spite!!!!! To add context, I'm now 26.

Tangent Three: This conversation is a needed one, but at what point does a fandom separate itself from its creator? Everyone has their own idea, a standard, as we’ve seen with facets of the fandom growing in different ways (ie: modern marauders on tiktok). But. Ugh. But but but but but but but this is something that I often ask myself.

tl;dr: While I’m burned out and etc., I may write something for a fest (hi, Dusk!), but the future remains uncertain.

He was trying very hard to not look over at her again, feeling that if he did so he wouldn’t be able to look away, but it was very hard having her close finally. He felt like he had forgotten how to blink. How to look at something that wasn’t Lily normally. How many times was he supposed to blink a minute? He couldn’t remember, and his eyes were getting horribly dry, and then suddenly he was blinking too much.

Review: This is a sort of different 8th year story - at least for me it’s a very different pairing. Harry (technically Harriet, though I’m glad she’s only getting called that when being scolded by Hermione) is trying to be happy after the war is over, in any ways that she can. Don’t worry, there’s not too much angst, in fact it’s a very cute story. I really liked the focus of her friendships, especially with Hermione and Ron. While many things have changed about Harry Potter in this fic, the golden trio is still just as great and loving as always. Alrightginger’s Harry feels like her own character, which I love. In fact, I think in the future I’d like to read even more female POV fics. Only thing to criticise of this fic is that I wish there was a resolution to the Draco subplot.
