FFXV Modding Resources
Flagrum is a modding tool and mod manager, lets you install both Steam Workshop as well as earc mods very easily. It also lets you create mods, browse the game files with model and texture previews, extract all kinds of files from the game's earc archives, and more! For some features/early access you will need to support the developer on Patreon and link your Patreon account with Flagrum. Video guide how to install and use Flagrum. Flagrum Blender addon for those who want to create Steam Workshop mods or make renders. The addon lets you import individual FFXV models or entire FFXV environments into Blender. It also lets you export models for Steam Workshop mods. An entire wiki page with multiple guides and information about FFXV modding that the Flagrum developer has collected over the years. Lucent is a visual scripting tool, lets you alter the game's script files visually via nodes. To download the tool you will need to support the developer on Patreon. "Exineris" discord server where you can discuss mods and/or other FFXV related topics (try not to derail the discussion to projects like KH or versusXIII; that's not the purpose of the server). Also contains practical information for modders or 3D artists with links to many useful resources. Flagrum cannot do everything yet so you may still require other tools such as: Noesis (can preview models but only once you extract them from the game's earc archives (Flagrum lets you view these even inside of the earc archives); also lets you preview animations which Flagrum cannot do at the moment) Cindy Text Editor (lets you modify text in the game such as subtitles or various signs, etc) Audiomog (lets you mod the sound files including dialogues, sound effects, and background music) More information can be found on the wiki page linked above. Where to download FFXV mods: Steam Workshop for Steam mods (weapons, outfits, model replacements; you need to have an account to DL) Skymods (a Russian repository for (not only) old Steam mods, no need to have a Steam account to DL) 3DM Game (a Chinese repository for old Steam mods, no need to have a Steam account to DL) Nexus mods for (mostly outdated) earc mods (mods that modify the game's "ebony" archives aka earcs). Flagrum should still be able to install these as legacy mods. Modworkshop (another repository with earc mods, was mostly active when Flagrum started) CurseForge (yet another repository with earc mods, where the Flagrum developer moved as a more suitable hosting platform with the latest updated earc mods, including the Chocomog carnival) Snapshot mods for the bros and others (earc mods that make characters use specific poses so that you can take interesting pictures; links also contain instructions) Reblog to spread awareness! Thank you!

ooh wait have you played three houses?? i saw you mentioned it in one of your recent posts and i got curious. can i ask what are your thoughts on it if you have played it?
also also, have you played pokemon scarlet/violet at all? i’d really love to hear your thoughts on it, especially with its latest dlc ^^ (super sorry i’m grouping two different games in this ask, i didn’t wanna send messages back to back, but feel free to only answer one if you want!)
Oh boy, more opportunities for me the spout nonsense and my odd opinions. I will gladly take it. Buckle up, anon and others reading, because I have a long history with both franchises.
I've been playing Fire Emblem since Fire Emblem: Awakening, then Fates, Heroes, and eventually Three Houses. My take: Awakening is still the best one, but maybe I'm biased. I remember playing it and marrying Chrom on accident, whoops.
Anyways, Three Houses was alright, better than Fates but not better than Awakening. I remember it came out, and I was actually upset because I was in another country on the US release date so I didn't get to play it until I got back. Even when I saw the trailers, I knew I was Golden Deers all the way. Odd, I know, most people prefer the other teams. Claude, Hilda, Marianne, Lysithea, my dears. OH, and before I go on, I just want to say, I hate the female MC. And no, it's not what you think, I only hate her because literally why does her outfit look like that compared to the male MC? Robin from Awakening was always the better protagonist anyways.
After completing the Golden Deers route, I decided I wanted to try and complete all the routes because at that point I disliked a huge majority of the characters. I tried Blue Lions next. At first I didn't really have much of an opinion on Dimitri, but he grew on me eventually, because how could I resist such a miserable brooding man that later gets a soft spot for one person (plus his design was kinda badass)? But I will admit, his behavior immediately post-timeskip was kinda annoying. I thought I would dislike Felix, but shockingly, I didn't, I actually liked him. And you know what? Dedue is CRIMINALLY underrated, he's literally probably the nicest and loyalest dude of all time. He got some hate for his race from some characters, and I actually got heated.
After Blue Lions, I knew I had to play through Black Eagles twice if I wanted the last two routes. However, here's the thing. In both previous routes, Golden Deer and Blue Lions, I had loathed Edelgard. But, I thought to myself, I just needed to try her route and maybe I'll change my mind... Well, I was wrong. Edelgard is probably one of the characters I HATE most in any franchise. And I tried so hard to like her, like I would give her gifts and answer dialogue truthfully, only for the relationship thing to go down. Like damn, okay. I just couldn't stand her. The others in her route were mostly fine, I liked Ferdinand, Bernadetta, Caspar, and Petra. But because of Edelgard, I couldn't even finish her route once and it's still uncompleted to this day.
Now... onto Pokemon.
Fun fact, I completed Pokemon Black and White when I was in first grade and couldn't read everything. Don't ask me how I did it, because I honestly have no clue. I've played every gen since then: Black and White 2, X and Y, Sun and Moon, Ultra Sun and Moon, Sword and Shield, Arceus, Scarlet and Violet. I did indeed preorder the game when it was announced, as I have done for the generations before. Where do you think my username comes from? In most pokemon games, I love collecting shiny pokemon. Shiny.
I was hyped for Scarlet and Violet since the first day it was announced. I lost my mind the day it was first announced and eagerly waited months for it. When it came out, I dropped everything for several days. As a regular fan, I always set this tradition for myself to defeat new pokemon games within or around 24 hours and of course, I did so.
The game itself has a lot of issues, namely the glitches and quality of the frames. But, it's on the switch, so that's to be expected. It felt really rushed in that aspect. I just feel like they could do so much better if they really wanted to, like on par with BOTW or TOTK (those games have bad frames too but at least they look a lot better). As for mechanics, I really missed the mechanics from Arceus, but at least Scarlet and Violet improved upon the poor excuse of the open area that was in Sword and Shield.
Story and characterwise, I'm torn.
Here's what I like: (1) the multiple split routes, (2) certain characters.
(1) It made it feel like you really had a lot to do, and that combined with the open area of the entire map made it seem like a lot. It is a lot. So it's really fun to explore and try to complete everything. Even just walking about, you're bound to get distracted, lost, or find something completely new. I was just playing it a while ago after completing everything and there were still little secrets I didn't notice the first time around.
(2) Arven, my god, do I love a guy with mommy AND daddy issues. And he has a dog? I'm hooked. I didn't expect to get attached to him, but I did. I actually prefer his route purely because of the story within it with his companion. I didn't see that coming, and I was so worked up over it. Another character I like, Director Clavell. A good supporting professor, you love to see it. Wish he showed up more though.
Here's what I dislike: (1) the villains, (2) the gym leaders, and (3) other characters, (4) the leveling system. (5) I'll talk about the dlc last.
(1) We haven't had a good villain team in a while. Black and White was super memorable with N, X and Y's Lysandre with Team Flare was a joke, Sun and Moon's Team Skull with Guzma was actually good because they were funny and non-threatening, Sword and Shield with Team Yell was actual trash, and this Team Star being bad guys but not really bad guys was actually so boring. Let's roll it back to Team Aqua literally planning to recreate a great flood or Team Magma planning to create havoc with volcanoes, Team Plasma that wanted to liberate Pokemon, or Team Galactic that were going to harness the power of time/space/universe and their leader is trapped/died in an empty dimension. They don't make Pokemon villains like they used to, huh?
(2) The gym leaders are very forgettable this time around. Like, they don't play much of a role aside battling, and after that you don't really see them again at all. It's a shame, because some of them have potential for greater use and have really good designs. Not to mention, they were all weak as hell.
(3) The Champion was a let down. Geeta (I had to look up her name). I was iffy when I first saw images of her, I didn't like her design but I just decided to go with the flow and I'll probably change my mind. I didn't. She's as forgettable of a champion as Alder and Diantha were. At least we saw Leon in the SwSh a lot and we got to hear from characters about how strong he was. Geeta wasn't like that at all, her team was a joke. Nemona as a rival was annoying, she got on my nerves from the first few moments we met her. I think Penny had potential, but I just didn't like her.
(4) The leveling system was really annoying. What happened was, I tried to complete the other two routes first and save the gym leaders for last. However, when I did this, because I didn't have any gym badges, new pokemon caught wouldn't listen even if my other pokemon were like 20 or more levels above them. So I had to pause the other route, just to do some of the gyms that way I could actually use new pokemon. I know they tried the system to prevent people from just cheating the system by automatically getting high-leveled pokemon from friends, but it just got in the way.
(5) DLC so far... not a fan. I mean, it's something. It's there. It's a thing. But it has nothing so far that makes me like it. The rivals are meh, and the region confuses the hell out of me. I don't get why do Scarlet and Violet region of Paldea based off Spain, but then have a DLC with an island that's so very obviously based off Japan. They could've picked anything around Spain but go back to Japan when 4/9 of the regions are already supposedly based off Japan? Idk, it was kind of a let down to be honest. I haven't completed the dlc, so I still have to do that. The new map is small, but I heard the next dlc is supposed to be huge so here's to hoping that one is better?

Fuzzy's Fallout 4 Mod List
Tumblr media
Finally decided to put together a list of the mods I use. (I even made a quick and crappy banner!)
I use Vortex to manage my mods, it's super easy and basically holds your hand through installing and setting up mods. You're also going to need F4SE no matter what.
I mostly find my mods on Nexus, so just search the names listed here on there. Anything not found on Nexus will have a link to it (tumblr only allows 100 links, so I couldn't just link everything).
I would also recommend keeping all of your original file downloads in a seperate folder in your games drive or wherever, organised however is easiest for you. That way you can check what you have outside of the manager, and don't have to re-download everything if you decide you need to nuke vortex and start fresh - just look for updated files only. You also won't completely lose access to the mods you really enjoy if the author decides to hide or get rid of them, since you'll always keep a version on your computer.
I also play with a lot of Creation Club content.
Woe be upon those who enter beyond here, the list is long.
Misc
These are either scripts, fixes, little changes to random things, or just didn't fit in any other category for whatever reason.

Codsworth Out of Time Fix (The creator has hidden this mod but it's a real lifesaver if you use a lot of Creation Club content, as the influx of data at the start of the game can bug the start of the main quest, and thus him and Preston. This mod lets you immersively skip the post-war Sanctuary tour and bug exterminating by telling him you already did it, which is where Codsworth would glitch out - not following along and not progressing the quest stage. LMK if you want the file and I'll find a way to share it.)

Survival and Immersion
These are mods I don't play with all the time, just when I'm looking for a more hardcore run around the Commonwealth and want to spend the extra time taking care of my character in the wild.
Agony (Rebalances damage, wounds, and healing - really lives up to it's name.)
Animated Chems Redone (Adds more animations similar to Agony, covering what they missed.)
APC Transport (Useful if you don't want to 'cheat' by using regular fast travel but don't want to hoof it from one side of the map to the other. I'd always recommend having FT enabled in survival through mods though, as the reload can help smooth issues out.)
Create Your Own Difficulty Rebalance
DEF_SSW Survival Stats widget redone
Give Me That Bottle
Smokeable Cigars - Cigarettes - Joints - With HardCore Auto Save (More animations, plus a save.)
Survival Mode Console Enabler
Survival Mode Transition Save (Ensures you get a quicksave when entering buildings and the like.)
SURVIVAL QUICK SAVE - No Sleep Till Bedtime (Gives you an aid item you can save to a hotkey if you need a fast save.)
Bethesda Mods
Get these by loading up the game and selecting 'MODS' on the main menu.
CREAtive Clutter - All DLC
CREAtive Teddy Bears
Do It Yourshelf Updated
Easy Homebuilder and Working Double Beds
Home Plate Interior Revamped
Immersive Decor
Makeshift Furniture Pack
More Bang For Your Bark (This mod is specifically for use with the Transdogrifier Creation Club mods - it lets the new dog shapes use clothing.)
MsRae's 76 Style Outfits
MsRae's All The Overalls
MsRae's Horticulture DLC
Railroad Death Bunnies Clothes
-----
(Now, y'all might say that's a lot of mods. And it is. But the only significant issues I have is that when I die my game crashes to desktop, and the excess of Creation Club content loading at the start of the game sometimes bugs out the first stage of the main quest, and thus poor Codsy and Preston. I just have to skip Codsy's search bit and rush to meet and save Preston to see if he will talk to me or not. Otherwise things run as normal -for a Bethesda game.)

Mass Effect 2 replay, Kasumi’s loyalty mission:
-Needed to recruit Mordin first so I could research upgrades, but Kasumi’s up next so I can get the locust.
Omega:
-If you go paragon when speaking to the Patriarch after Aria’s asked you to get him to safety, you hear the first mention of a krogan’s krantt.
Krantts are a fantastic addition to the world building for krogans. They add some much needed depth to how they relate to each other beyond killing.
-It’s a shame the Patriarch doesn’t come back in ME3. The quest positions him as potentially regaining some influence if you go paragon – he could have been leading a rebellion against the Cerberus forces in the Omega DLC or the like.
-Aria’s past is built up in ME2, but again nothing comes of this. Just vague hints that major shit went down.
-According to Gavorn if you go renegade, slavers regularly kidnap vorcha to sell. Lovely.
Bekenstein
-As many have noted, its ridiculous that a garden world so close to the Citadel was left unclaimed until humanity came along. The game doesn’t even try to justify it.
-General observation: Why are women in Mass Effect normally in dresses for casual wear?
The exceptions I can think of are outfits for Shepard and colonists. But on the Citadel or Omega, the casual wear for all women are dresses.
It stands out to me given that I’m far more accustomed to seeing women wear pants than dresses or skirts.
Also, I’d like an option to put femShep in a suit for formal wear.
-As many have have noted, it’s strange Kasumi didn’t dress up for the mission. Honestly, the real reason Hock didn’t let her is because she probably didn’t meet the dress code.
-It says something about Mass Effect that guests to a fancy party are permitted to keep pistols. It’s the norm for everyone to be armed.
Unless you’re a human refugee in the Omega slums, apparently.
-I do appreciate how ME1 and ME2 had several missions that did not involve combat. Or at least parts of missions. ME3 could have used more of those.
-There is transient dialogue at the party about how Shepard is dead.
Seriously, what was up with Jacob saying that the general public doesn’t know they’re dead? How did that line make it to production?
-The mercs are Eclipse, but the ones at the party are all human. Given that Eclipse is primarily Asari and Salarian, that’s notable.
-And nearly all the guests are human too.
-Does Hock have ties to Cerberus?
He’s shady, involved in several questionable activities, and signs point to human supremacist. It’d be natural for him to be connected to Cerberus.
-You’d think an alarm would go off when the power to the barrier for the vault is disabled.
Sure, Kasumi may have taken care of that too but there’s no indication to it.
-Why does Kasumi hack the first security door, but then leave me to hack the second?
She’s definitely laughing at my struggles.
-As others have noted, the krogan anime playing in the security room is interesting.
I really want to see in universe media of Mass Effect. Can you imagine Mass Effect anime? It’d be a trip.
-You don’t even need to pass a speech check to get Hock talking if you flirt with him. He just goes off.
-Why does Shepard need to speak to Hock, anyway? Couldn’t she just linger around him while he speaks to other guests? Study the fish or something.
-There’s a statue from Illos in the vault. It’s labeled a prothean statue. Given this is from Shepard’s point of view, it indicates Shepard at least believed that’s what protheans looked like.
-Why does Hock have so many statues of krogans? There’s four or five.
-Why is turian art unusual outside of Palaven?
Is it because no one else vibes with turian art? I don’t think so – Kasumi said it may be the most valuable piece in the collection.
So the implication is that turian art is rare.
That feels unlikely; it’s pretty typical for large governments to commission art pieces to show them off. If only to one up other governments.
I suppose turians could just not value art, but outside this line there’s no indication of that.
Give me more cultural world building, Bioware!
-Why is the locust on the same podium as the gray box? Why is the gray box even on display in the vault among a bunch of statues? Where are the rare books, etc.?
I’m grateful for the opportunity to see all these statues, but logically the gray box would be stored somewhere else. And not with a submachine gun.
-I am not enjoying my insanity playthrough of ME2. I just ran through all my ammo for the first time.
How are thermal clips superior to ME1 overheating again? Is there some reason I can’t keep a gun that uses overheating on me as backup in case I run out of thermal clips?
-Thank goodness that there’s a checkpoint in the fight with Hock’s gunship. Once Kasumi destroys the shield, if you die you reload at that point.
-I debated whether to have Kasumi destroy or keep the graybox. I’ve always let her keep it before.
I think it’s healthier for her to destroy it, but it’s not really my call to make.
Also, ME2 mechanics at play here. I need to make sure I have enough paragon points to resolve the Tali/Legion quarrel later. So let her keep the graybox it is.
Normandy
-Emily Wong assumed Shepard’s “death” was them going undercover. If I recall correctly, a few others believe the same.
Again: Everyone knows Shepard was dead. What was Jacob talking about?
-And the Blue Suns offered to take over the security for Mordin’s old clinic. Fortunately, Daniel told them no. Hopefully he lives long enough to make it stick.
-Early Mass Effect 2 is heavily weighted to tech. I already have two, plus the decreased cooldown time they unlock.
I don’t think you get any upgrades for biotics until after Horizon, if my memory is correct, unless you play the firewalker dlc.
As someone who always plays biotics, this is painful.
-Miranda has no new dialogue, oddly enough.
Jacob
-I do not understand why Jacob is with Cerberus. This is starting to feel like a toxic relationship.
Past experiences with Cerberus make him assume the worst of everyone. He’s wary of friendly overtures because they’re normally false. Not trusting other people is the norm.
Jacob, why are you here? Do you assume TIM will kill you if you leave and don’t trust Shepard enough to tell them that?
If so, kudos to you based on ME3 but I wish that had been discussed at some point.
Talking to this man feels like trying to gain the trust of a feral cat that’s accustomed to being kicked.
-He says that the Alliance doesn’t people handle their own problems and Cerberus is the same, but puts more effort into hiding that they’re spying on you.
I’ve lost track of how many times it’s come up that the Normandy is under surveillance. Does Jacob consider this subtle? What does he consider blatant?
-Once again, it feels like threading a needle to not trigger a romance with Jacob. And once again, he makes it very clear that he’s not interested.
Shepard has the opportunity to tell Jacob that since they’re interested, they’re going to assume Jacob’s down for it too.
The romance with Jacob is both incredibly icky and very hard to avoid. I don’t know what Bioware was thinking.
Mordan
-Just like Wrex, Mordin dismisses the concept of a krogan scientist.
It would have been hilarious if we had recruited Okeer and the two had to share a lab. We would have been down one teammate.
-Now Mordin opens up to you and tells you about reinforcing the genophage.
He claims it’s because he wants you to know that he’s willing to do what’s necessary, but it comes off as wanting reassurance that he did the right thing.
As much as he insists that it was necessary and not genocide, his guilt is obvious.
-Interestingly, going paragon nets you 6 paragon points. Going neutral earns you 4 paragon points.
Neutral doesn’t push back against the genophage. It just validates Mordin telling you about his work. Bioware could easily have had it provide no points, but gave you the opportunity to earn paragon points without opposing the genophage.

I finished Assassin's Creed: Revelations on PS3 a couple of days ago. I played Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood last year and got a pre-owned copy of Revelations to see the story further. Revelations is continuation to the story of Brotherhood and the final chapter to the Ezio trilogy. You step in the boots of matured Ezio Auditore Da Firenze and this time you head to Constantinople (known as Turkey's Istanbul today) in 1511 AD. As usual you meet plenty of historical figures like Prince Suleiman, Niccolo Polo (Marco Polo's father) and Manuel Palaiologos. There are also sections where you play as the legendary assassin Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad, the protagonist of the very first game in the series.
I liked the landmarks skillfully recreated for the game and the work on the characters' outfits is outstanding again. The characters are written rather well and I found them interesting. My favorite character may have been the charismatic Yusuf Tazim who heads the assassin operations in Constantinople. His interaction with Ezio was quite funny and enjoyable. The first time they meet, Yusuf introduces himself and he confirms "and you were Ezio Auditore Da… lalalala?".
I liked the ambience of the environments and the dialogue made me laugh at times. When a conflict between the Templars and the Assassins broke out, there was this civillian crying out "Why me?! Always in the wrong place at the wrong time." Some main story quests were hilarious too, like when Ezio and his pals needed to disguise as minstrels for a party in the Topkapi Palace. A guard commenting "you sound like a dying cat" about Ezio's singing talent cracked me up.
Traversing the environments was pretty handy with the new hookblade that allows for faster climbing and sliding on ropes suspended over the city. Ezio's behaviour when parkouring was a bit erratic at times though and occasionally instead of going up a tower he suddenly jumped down to a haystack for example. Stealth was a bit difficult to maintain at times (maybe I was just impatient) but performing silent kills was satisfying.
The story was pretty cool, a good combination of history, fiction and mystique. I liked the story of Altaïr and the game ends in a cliffhanger that made me want to see how it continues.
There's plenty of side content aside from the main story in form of collectibles, a tower defence minigame, rebuilding the city by renovating shops and landmarks, side missions, online multiplayer, etc. I collected all the memoir pages which unlocked the Ishak Pasha armor and I fully rebuilt Constantinople, other than that I didn't care much for the side content. There's a separate first-person platformer / walking sim game mode where you learn more about Desmond but that was so clunky and had such terrible level design that I didn't finish even the first section of those.
Overall my feelings towards the game are clearly more positive than negative regardless of some frustrations I had with it. The game was concise and felt like just the right length. According to HowLongToBeat it takes 12 hours on average to complete the main story.
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted". I'm looking forward to playing Assassin's Creed Mirage once it launches this autumn.

The more I think about this whole description the more insane I get:
Tumblr media
Text Description:
“Even Systems Alliance Marines Need a Break
Kaidan Alenko might be a badass sentinel marine with powerful biotics that can kick the life out of his adversaries (and commanders who dare to duel). But even this warrior needs a break once in a while. And just like on a sunny day on Earth, a “cold one” in space does the trick. In this Kaidan Alenko statue, you find him seated with his legs crossed, a cold beer in his, and his eyes lost in thought, perhaps about Rahna. His outfit is recreated to perfection, with every little detail from the creases in his folded sleeves to the texture on his pants.”
Okay! So! One by one:
“Kaidan Alenko might be a badass sentinel marine with powerful biotics that can kick the life out of his adversaries (and commanders who dare to duel).”
I just really hate how this is phrased and the word choices in general, but I’m gonna hone in on that parenthetical clause: “commanders who dare to duel.”
Who? Which commander? Because Commander Shepard never dueled Kaidan.
They had a duel/fisticuffs with James. They had a stand-off with Kaidan. But they never dueled Kaidan.
When did they duel Kaidan, Bioware? I would remember if they dueled. I would not shut up about it if they dueled.
“a “cold one” in space does the trick”
I am just fascinated by putting cold one in scare quotes. Like that’s special Mass Effect slang for a beer, and not like... a general colloquialism in the States (and maybe Canada? Canadians let me know.)
(Although if its strictly a States thing that may go a long way to explaining why it’s in quotes.)
Also gotta make sure this ad copy is strictly profesh for our collectible statue of a video game man. Don’t want to get too familiar with potential buyers.
“his eyes lost in thought, perhaps about Rahna.”
I’m not going to go too into this since this is what our little corner of mini-fandom has been focusing on, many others have pointed out the ridiculousness of this.
I will just reiterate what I’ve said elsewhere: whoever wrote this skimmed the fan wiki entry for Kaidan. That is the only explanation I can think of for why they’d name drop a character he mentions twice in the first game, and who is never seen on screen and is mentioned once outside of those particular conversations, if you happen to make the choices to get that dialogue line.
Like the writer was stumped for stuff to put in this description, hopped to the wiki, skimmed the entry about his early life, “oh he loved Rahna, I’ll put that in there, see boss I totally how to weave in game details,” and called it a day. Because I don’t know about you, but if the world was ending around me and I had to fight cyborg zombies all day, I’d be thinking about my high school crush.
The truly baffling thing is this should have been a layup. “His eyes are lost in thought, perhaps about a certain commander....” BOOM! The Shenkos would eat that right up. Particularly since who the fuck else is spending $125 USD on this? You can lean into the romance options on character merch if they’re a romance option. It’d be like if Thane’s body pillow’s description talked about how he missed Irika. Sure, yes, but maybe don’t mention it on the thing you’re selling to people who like to pretend to smooch on him?
Damn I lied, I did go too into this.
“His outfit is recreated to perfection”
Okay this really irked the nerd in me.
This is not his outfit:
Tumblr media
This is his outfit:
Tumblr media
The outfit he’s in for the statue are the fatigues that Shepard wears at the start of Mass Effect 3:
Tumblr media
I don’t know if that has a special name or not, I’m not about that life.
What I AM about are tiny little details like this. You can put Kaidan in that outfit with mods, and he does look good, but that’s not “his” outfit. Hell, his outfit isn’t really “his”, it’s the default casual look for most of the Alliance characters.
It’s not that I don’t like the outfit. I mind that the copy says they’re recreating it “to perfection” and it’s not even his.
Anyway I have had a total of 10 hours of sleep over the last two days (work stuff - don’t ask) and am going to try to rectify that now that this is out of my system. Apologies for grammar/spelling mistakes, again, 10 hours of sleep over two days.

Anon asks about Xenoblade 2
xc2 100% has harem fantasy elements, but i can ignore them for the most part. it also has what id call a significantly more engaging world to xc1, and the story in the torna dlc is amazing. tons of conent, challenges, and things to collect. easily worth the cost of the game imo. i enjoyed it a lot, and its got 10x more replayability than xc1. the story has some pretty genuinely heat wrenching moments. buy if you can is my advice
Xenoblade chronicles 2 ended up one of my favourite jrpgs but it's a hard sell for lots of entirely legitimate reasons. I do think the game has more heart than first impressions suggest but it's definitely guilty of the things people mock\criticise it for. I would openly recommend 3 though, you don't really need to have played the previous games for it. Remake of 1 is an overall solid game.
I will be pretty honest with you guys. I have no intention of playing Xenoblade 2.
Even if the story is good and the gameplay is good, the treatment of the women is enough to for me to say “Fuck no.” It’s not just the worst designs on the planet, but I’ve seen some dialogue scenes and it is so cringe. There is only one good female design. ONE. And they still make her joke about not looking like a woman since she’s not half-naked (I did some research. I still don’t understand the plot of the game).
No fucking thank you. I hate that shit. I know that sounds aggressive but I do. Even if the women are generally well written, the designs tell me that they aren’t ACTUALLY anything more than objects to stare at. A good character needs design and writing, not one or the other. I can already tell you there is only one female character I will like. Yes, I am petty. A bad design will ruin a character for me for good.
I can barely take some of FE’s female designs, no way in hell will I tolerate XC2.
Also like SPOILER but while doing some research I found out Rex apparently marries all three of the main girls and has babies with them. I cannot even begin to describe how appalling the “family photo” was. Legit uncomfortable. It looked like “Look at my sister-wives I impregnated!” and all the gigachad comments were fucking gross.
I would be less bothered if I could get a female character that got a male harem and got to stand over her husbands in a similar weird way as Rex did, but like 99% of the time these never happen.
It’s not that I am against polyamorous relationships. But the general idea of the female characters from this game already leave a bad taste in my mouth, plus a real-world history of women being basically baby-makers makes me wary of one-male multiple-women relationships in media. Especially if it’s 3 women. I think I would have been less bothered if it had been 2. But 3?! Come on, that’s literally just a harem hentai. Look at their outfits!
I really care little about the context of the situation. I don’t even want to know. That’s how much it bothered me and I am pretty hard to bother.
I’m not generally passionate about much, but the objectification of women in this way without it being equal with the men does bring out that loathing in me. It might be surprising to read this rather aggressive answer, since I generally don’t have aggressive answers for asks. But man, XC2 just looks so gross. I won’t be able to play a game where I have to watch Pyra or whatever her name is on my screen 24/7.
I might look into 1 and 3 though. They don’t sound so bad. I’m sure they have their fair share of treating women like shit too but design-wise at least they look like actual people.

canvas, night, day for the oc ask meme! for merit or anyone really
canvas: Does your OC have any scars, piercings, tattoos, or other markings? Do they display or cover them up at all?
Merit has her ears pierced. No scars or tattoos to speak of. Though in lieu of scars, her hands can get pretty beat up from plucking at lyre strings and the like. She does what she can to care for her hands, but on the road she tends to suffer from blisters and calluses unless she rests or has access to better medicine/skincare.
night: What does your OC wear to sleep? Do they have a favorite pair of PJs, or are they more the birthday suit type? / day: What does your OC wear on a normal day? Why do they default to those clothes? Do they wear similar things, or do they change it up?
She's a fan of matching lounge sets in a variety of colors, I imagine Merit's wardrobe back home being full to the brim with both different looks as well as multiple sets of the same outfit but in a variety of colors to suit her mood (both for night/lounging and daywear). Being without access to her usual garb on the road led to her collecting a stupidly large variety of clothes in different colors, even if they were just
Tumblr media
(I need to find/gather more screenshots of her in the variety of outfits I put on her between scenes lol honestly sometimes I'd just load up the game and play dressup with everyone before replaying character specific scenes or camp dialogue just for funsies)

Glassheart DEVLOG 1
Tumblr media
7/28/2023
INTRODUCTION
Hey, I'm Ianthe Rosingbird. A solo game dev who loves to read and create fantasy, romance and horror visual novels/adventure games. The game I'm currently working on is Glassheart, and while the story is still influx due to me changing a few narrative elements here and there the basic structure goes something like this:
Anya-Torre, is a young woman attending a prestigious boarding school when she's suddenly thrusted into a conflict involving witches, a guild sworn to eradicate all threats to their kingdom and a mysterious society of alchemists. She acts as an aid to the two princes, Ademeus and Radmes as they seek to protect the secrets of the Glassheart; a relic with the power to rewrite causality and unravel the strings of fate.
Tumblr media
GAMEPLAY
Since this is a visual novel, there will be the obvious dialogue scenes as well as choices to make, though I don't want the choices to be dialogue based. Instead, I want Anya to use a bunch of items stored within her inventory or snippets of information she gathered throughout the story to make certain events unfold.
For example; If she overhears two people talking about another person, I want her to be able to store that information for use at a later stage. She can also collect objects that you might need at a later date, especially herbs and flowers for spells.
This brings us to the second type of gameplay I want to implement; exploration. I've already began work on this feature as you can see in the gif below, but basically Anya will be able to go from room to room by rotating the camera and clicking on doors. The wand will glow on objects of note and doorways as a handy guide so that you're easily alerted to what is clickable.
Tumblr media
The third type of gameplay will be potion making. Since Anya is an aspiring alchemist, she's able to use guides and spell books to whip up all sort of potions that will allow her to access different rooms or defend against obstacles. Invisibility is one of those, but I'm hoping to have a whole list of spells planned out by the next dev log.
The final type of gameplay is still up in the air, but I might do an RPG battle system for cases where characters need to fend against witches and other foes, but we'll see.
There's also going to be dress-up game elements but those aren't as important. I just want to create a lot of pretty outfits for the characters. It's very self-indulgent.
CHARACTERS
Tumblr media
In terms of characterisation a lot is up in the air(mainly cos I did a last minute pivot with the lore of the world and the themes of the story so I'm currently shifting things around). The one thing I can guarantee though is that it's going to be messy and very LGBTQ+. So yah. That's all I feel comfortable saying until I commit to some ideas.
The lack of commitment to characterization seems perfectly illustrated in the two outfits I rendered for Anya's sprite.
AESTHETIC
For this game and all the other games I'm planning to make moving forward, I want to go for a 90s anime type aesthetic, with subtitles and basically no UI elements. You're still able to access your setting via a drop down menu but I want you to feel like you're watching an anime rather than playing a game.
Later on down the line, I plan to add some character animations like mouth movement and evnr a few little gestures to give each character a unique flare but I want to get the basic character sprites done first.
I also want to dedicate an entire log to going over my artistic influences and well as the style I was able to develop for this project. Just for fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TIMELINES
Glassheart is still in it's infancy. In terms of coding I've got most of the dialogue and choice system down as well as the navigation but I still need to work on saving and loading and other boring things. The story's also going to have a tonne of characters and I'm not even half way through the cast at the moment and I'm even more far behind on the backgrounds so it may take a while before I can confidently release a demo. I'm hoping I'll be able to do that by December which seems to me like a reasonable goal but if I could get everything done much earlier...or later. Hopefully it's the former.
Meanwhile, I might begin a YouTube Dev Log to also show you the actually gameplay footage as well as the tracks I've been working on for the game so I'll keep you posted on that. In the meantime I uploaded a YouTube video of a third year project I did for college if you'd like to see a sample of some of the stuff I've done. It's very much the aesthetic I'm going for.
youtube
And with that I think that end's my Dev Log. I'm hoping to have one of these lengthier logs every week or so but I'll also try to post some art and progress gifs every so often as well as some interesting info about the characters and the world.
Thanks for reading all this and have a good day!!
Ianthe

Notes about my creative and gaming ventures:
I started nanowrimo with the intent of finishing a. My Encanto fanfic and b. My Cait Sith to the Rescue fic. I did about a week of work on the former, got slightly stuck and more interested in other non-writing projects, and haven’t recovered. I progressed pretty well, and inched closer to the end, but it feels stuck now. It’s a stupid little point of I need to include Felix now because he’s the only family member I haven’t written yet and it makes no sense for him to not be there, and I don’t know how. More likely, I just have to sit down and write it.
I’m much less stuck on the Cait Sith fanfic, but I am trying to finish these in the order I promised myself. I have a solid outline for the rest of it, and have poked a bit and played with dialogue; I feel it will go fine when I get around to it.
The major distraction was my shiny new Sims 2 project! …which like my other sims projects has slowed to a crawl because of the ridiculous way I set up my CC. It’s working a lot better than setting up my medieval CC did, mainly because there is so much less stuff (and also because I learned the hard way to stop installing lots without clean installer, and other similar wisdom you’d think I would have learned in the twenty years I’ve been playing). Still frustratingly slow, though! My method is nice because a. I have a bunch of ancient stuff, like collections from AAS that just doesn’t exist anymore, and b. I find workable stuff that never would have occurred to me to seek out to include. For example, I had a whole bunch of JA steampunk outfits in my downloads folder. Most of them got cut, of course, but several puffy sleeved white shirts for male and female sims will work great for casual and piratey 18th century sims. Like so:
Tumblr media
On the other hand, I have a ton of decorative crap I don’t know whether I will be able to identify sufficiently to remove! On the other other hand, currently loading is nice and quick. Well, it is what it is. I have been adding freshly downloaded CC in small chunks, removing CC using a combination of screenshotting tooltips and using DDO to locate and remove unwanted stuff, and it’s inching along.
I am really glad I decided to used Castaway Stories natives, as that goes beautifully with the piratey stuff in this 18th century set, which I can use in the future.
And it has also come to my attention that as sparse as 18th century CC is, the sims that suffer the most from a lack of content so far are Male Children. If I participated in the community like at all, I would politely beg for child and probably toddler conversions of nice simple Heget clothing. And some all-ages all-gender separate breeches to go with my puffy shirts.
And I’ve been distracted from that by a. Minecraft, where my project of digging out a massive cave uncovering cool stuff in a seed with three ancient cities and a stronghold uncovered another massive cave I needed to climb to the top of and incorporate, and it’s 20 blocks down before that is done and then 20 more blocks down before my whole cave even touches the stronghold, b. Civ 6 which I really wasn’t expecting, and now I feel like I should clear out some achievements or something, and c. Dwarf fortress, where I was kinda waiting for the steam release but I got too excited and I am very rusty. I had a couple of starting crashes, then a world where all the cool start locations were near a necromancer tower so every time I started a new fort, in a few months there would be an undead siege I wasn’t ready for. First fort, I just didn’t realize; second fort actually it was crocodiles that kept popping out of the river and murdering my dwarves; third fort I thought I was doing better but didn’t hook up my protective drawbridge in time and got wiped out by the undead. Eventually I rolled a new world and it has gone okay so far, I used what I learned to make sure I didn’t start near evil, and also dug a quick starter fort in the first layer of sand and dirt before making my fancy entrance—another trap I often fall into! we’ll see if it’s survivable.
I also am getting a bit distracted by Grounded, but I can probably wait until the update comes out on that so I can have mushroom stairs for the castle I’ll eventually build. (I started a new game when it was released, and the stalled because I wanted to build a great treehouse before venturing into the hedge lab. Forgetting that my last great treehouse was built during pandemic lockdown when I had so much extra free time to go crazy building…)
It’s fun to ramble into the void about my current projects, it’s like talking to myself out loud and it helps me feel organized even when I’m not!

Released in , Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines is the second in a series of video games based in the world of the classic role-playing game. Check Out This Mod. The clinically insane Malkavians are known for their extravagant demeanor and bizarre — and in the case of females, revealing — outfits. No longer will the voices in your head also choose your wardrobe. Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines is one of the best vampire-themed games ever created. But after over 15 years, its graphics are well past their prime. The SilentMasqu Mod is a massive high-resolution texture pack that subtly improves the situation by sprucing up environments, NPCs, and weapons alike. Overall, the game looks much more modern and eye-catching with this ENB. Whether you want to use this as a tool for role-playing or to change things up after playing the game several times, this mod remains an excellent addition to your collection. Which may make the game too easy for some veteran players. There are some new features, interesting and often hilarious tweaks to dialogue, and even improved textures in some areas. Bloodlines Audio Overhaul is a bit of a no-brainer here. There are new models, new effects, and lots of new dialogue to experience in this prequel. The mod developers clarify that The Final Nights is its own thing — a completely new experience with a novel story in the VTM universe. It also changes how bloodpoints behave, making you lose them at an accelerated rate. Now, feeding is more of a necessity than a choice. Other than that, the Camarilla Edition brings many improvements to the graphics, the character textures, and vehicles. It even makes the controls more comfortable, and the UI has never looked this good. Of course, these are all fully fleshed-out, with unique disciplines that include necromancy, animalism, and more! Much like the Antitribu Mod, the Clan Quest Mod adds a ton of new content ranging from new quests to new disciplines and more. Each of the seven base vampire clans gets their own, fully-realized questline that shines a light on their mythos and inner workings. It even has new loading screens and a working achievement system. Talk about attention to detail! Instead they poured their time and effort into bringing forth the game that VTMB could have been, if given more time before release. Trials of Mana accessibility review
Game title: Trials of Mana
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Windows (Steam), Steam Deck
Languages: Voice acting languages: English or Japanese Text language: English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese, German, Korean, simplified and traditional Chinese
Age rating: ESRB T, PEGI 12
Multiplayer: None
Genre/theme: Action RPG; hack-n-slash melee combat, magic combat, leveling up, and story progression. Trials of Mana is the third game in Squaresoft/Square Enix’s Mana series, and was originally exclusively released in Japan. The 16-bit version of the game (with English translation) is now available in The Collection of Mana as well. Trials of Mana can be played with 1 of 6 characters as the primary character, with individualized backstories that start off the game. You also choose 2 more of the characters to be part of your battle party, and can even play through their origins in the same playthrough as well. The story is a fairly standard RPG tale of a small group of skilled fighters banding together to take on the forces of evil and save the world.
Violence: Sword and magic combat are a core aspect of the game, but there’s no blood or gore.
Maturity: No nudity, swearing, or drug references. Several of the outfits available for the female characters are fairly revealing. Bottles of what may be alcohol are present in many of the buildings but no one is seen drinking, and drinking isn’t mentioned.
Difficulty modes: None
Complexity: Easy-medium; exploration, story progression, and combat are very straightforward and easy to understand. Setting item/move shortcuts is about the depth of complexity, along with the standard RPG weapon, armor, and general item inventory management.
Instructions, saving, story recap, menus, & waypoints: A minimap, world map, and field map are all available. A visible waypoint marker is always set for your next quest objective, making it crystal clear where you need to head next. Just below the minimap is a brief explanation of your target location and mission. The mini-map display, mission display, and control display can all be toggled on or off, and the mini-map can be set to rotate or not, it’s stationary by default.
The game can be saved by talking to an innkeeper when in towns and by interacting with the mana statues out in the wild, these are well-placed and you generally won’t go more than 5–10 minutes without coming across an opportunity to save.
The Adventure Log in the pause menu is incredibly useful, offering a helpful story recap, as well as a full in-game manual essentially. All controls and game functions are described clearly here and can be accessed at any time.
Subtitles: Yes; they can also be turned off.
Text customization: Text speed can be set to Auto-Progression or Instant. The speaker display during dialogue can be turned off. There aren’t any text size or text window options, and the dialogue text is on the small side, though the menu text is larger and clearer to read.
Voice acting: Fully voice acted in both English and Japanese.
Volume settings: Background music, sound effects, and voices can all be set from 0–10. The background music can also be switched between the Remake and the Original, both are wonderfully composed!
Photosensitivity: When melee attacks land on the targeted enemy a fairly bright slash of light appears, this color is different for the 6 playable characters. I found this to be a little bit hard on the eyes, though some of these lights aren’t quite as intense with some of the characters, and I kept my brightness and contrast on my TV set fairly low. Choosing a magic-centric character may be a helpful option to lessen this effect as well. Some of the spell animations are a bit of a lightshow too, but there are plenty of spells to choose from and you can definitely avoid using ones that are visually troublesome. I recommend avoiding using lightning attacks.
When you plant an item seed it glows bright yellow as it immediately blossoms (fast grow time!)
Brightness settings can adjusted in the Settings menu. Battle animations can also be turned off in the settings menu, this cuts the spell animation sequence out of the game, which may reduce some photosensitivity troubles.
These can be remedied a bit by playing in a well-lit room and adjusting screen brightness (TV & handheld), backlight (TV), contrast (TV), and color settings (TV). Additionally, wearing blue light lens glasses, tinted lens glasses, or even sunglasses may be helpful.
Motion-sickness and camera: None that I experienced while playing on the Switch at 30 frames per second. Though the Windows and PS4 versions run at 60 fps and this difference may have an impact on some gamers. Camera speed can be set to 1–10 (5 by default). Camera zoom can be set to: Normal, Med. Zoomed Out, Zoomed Out, Zoomed In, and Med. Zoomed In. Both thumbstick pitches can be inverted as well.
Colorblindness settings: None, can only be adjusted on your TV’s color settings.
Controller rumble: Yes; can also be turned off in Settings menu.
Remappable controls: Yes; each function can be mapped to one of 2–4 different choices of buttons (for example: melee attack can be set to A, B, X, or Y).
Quick-time events: None
Physical impact: Combat is brisk but also smoothly paced, with light attack, heavy attack, and spells/summons to choose from. Battling using constant light attacks does lead to a little bit of button-mashing fatigue, so if you need to play easier on the hands I recommend varying up your moves and/or focusing primarily on heavy attacks and spells. Dash options can be set to Normal, Constant, or Auto, and this can save a lot of left thumbstick clicking.
Strategies can also be set in the menu, allowing you to set your Target, Tactics, and Customization. Target options can be set to: Weakened Enemies, Nearby Enemies, Range Enemies, Same Enemy, and Other Enemies. The Tactics options are: On the Attack, All-Out Attack, Balanced Attack, Protection is Paramount, and Exclusively Protect. The Customization options include sliders that set the regularity with which your party characters’ use Moves, Class Strikes, and Healing Items.
Adaptability and input: Controls are simple, well spaced out, and can be customized. Can be played one-handed, which may be easier using the Joycon controllers. The majority of the controls are thumb input, so gamers with thumb or thumb joint struggles may have to set the controller on their lap and play using their fingers but this is definitely doable.
Can be played with Switch Joycon controllers, controller-docked Joycon controllers, handheld-docked Joycon controllers, Switch Pro controller, Gamecube controller, Sony Dualshock 4 controller (adapter required to use on Switch), Xbox One Bluetooth Controller (adapter required on Switch), Wii U Pro Controller (adapter required on Switch), mouse + keyboard, Steam controller, Steam Deck, and any other controller that is compatible with Steam. No touchscreen or voice functionality.

Overall accessibility score: 4.3/5.0 (Please note that this score does not reflect the entertainment or enjoyment value of the game, it represents the range of accessibility for gamers who have specific limitations.)
This English remake of Trials of Mana includes an impressively wide range of accessibility options, making the game very inclusive and customizable. Although combat is a core aspect of the game, it’s light fantasy violence with no blood or gore. Gameplay is easy to learn and play, with some pain and fatigue occurring when focusing on light attacks, but varying up attack strategies and/or relying more on heavy attacks and spells can make a big difference. The areas in which Trials of Mana falls short are: some photosensitivity issues with the melee and magic attack animations (which may be too much for medium-highly photosensitive gamers), and the lack of text size options, with fairly small default dialogue text. All in all, Square Enix did a pretty solid job with accessibility features on this HD remake.

Voice of Cards
Status: used guide to collect all weapons, completed/platinumed in about 20 hours
Points: 4/5 [4,078125]
I almost felt sad when I finished the game after 20 hours after receiving all the collectibles. It was such a good game, albeit a bit short. What made me pick up the game? Merely the fact that Yoko Taro was once again Creative Director and after playing NieR Replicant I became an even bigger fan of his games, his concepts and ideas. While playing the game, I got multiple NieR Replicant flashbacks because of the music (thank you so much, Keiichi Okabe) and a few story plots just remind you of Yoko Taro, giving you a chance to choose although story wise none of it matters, it’ll just hurt. Like all NieR games Voice of Cards has this certain feeling of mystery, of upcoming doom, it tells a fantasy tale about humanity’s issues in card game form and I for once had a blast playing it through.
Artwork/Design - 3.75/5
I honestly wanted to give it 5/5 points, because I liked the whole card design. I liked the map designs in card format, the fields, the woods, the paths, the towns, everything. It is simplistic of course! The character models reminded me of NieR Reincarnation and DLC wise you can have your Replicant team with you, since you can put the NieR outfits onto the main trio. The characters look really cool and unique, anime stylish. The NPCs are more generic, but even they have special designs as well as your new team members. The monsters look fantastic as well, everything just fits but… in comparison to what modern JRPGs can look like, taking Tales of Arise, Final Fantasy VII Remake or upcoming Forspoken into consideration, it could simply be more.
Tumblr media
It could have animated cutscenes, it could have moving characters, an interactive environment… but it decided not to. Despite that it just looks amazing in card format. In my humble opinion it would have deserved 5 points, but putting it into comparison with other games… I simply cannot give it 5 points.
Story/Combat System - 4/5 & 3/5
Voice of Cards has a very traditional way of storytelling, through a narrator voiced by Todd Haberkorn. The English voice acting is superb, even the simplest bit of emotions can be found in perhaps a word wrongly pronounced or a small comment added here and there. It’s pure entertainment. Mad respect to Todd Haberkorn, I enjoyed listening to his voice while watching the story unfold. Even the dialogue is voiced by Todd in different tones, hence the game needed no more voice actors.
Tumblr media
The overall story, atmosphere and music are very soothing, almost relaxing as you set out in a remote village, tasked to kill a dragon that has been wreaking havoc. Rather than saying it is about the end, the story is perhaps more about companionship, about forging bonds in a fantasy setting. On your way to the dragon you make multiple stops in all sorts of dungeons and towns. The distinctive Yoko Taro tone is always apparent, since the towns all have certain… traits. For example there is a town that is said to get along with monsters and you visit it, people keep monsters as pets and you’re like “damn, cool”. Then one of the monsters vanishes and you set out to retrieve it, of course you do, you’re good people, you bring it back and mere moments later the mayor serves you a tasty dinner. A tasty dinner you just rescued. It’s just something Yoko Taro would do, to get you thinking, to shock you.
Even your party is pretty distinctive, like… almost a bunch of weirdos, about people with a dark twisty background, about people that do not exactly fit into anywhere. Perhaps they’re idiots, too, but they’re lovely. It’s just so easy to grow attached to a boy that keeps a monster around him as cares for it as if it’s a family member, a young girl that is consumed by revenge and much of a tsundere, a muscled dude and a girl that runs into money traps like it’s her hobby.
The story is great, the ending was definitely twisty and I could not foresee why we chased that dragon and if chasing it was actually a good or bad thing, if we were a good group of heroes or bringing doom upon the lands. So I definitely have to mention that the story is worth experiencing.
The combat system on the other hand is alright, but… definitely a little boring. It’s a traditional turn-based combat system in card format, where cards of your team and your enemies lie on a table board. Skill cards can be acquired at certain levels, which can be certain special physical attacks against a single enemy or a mob of enemies, you can use magic spells of different elements (weaknesses can be easily perceived) or even heal and boost or debuff enemies. There is just one single trick: these skills cost gems. Gems you gain by taking action, each round. So in case you have 3 gems and use 3 for a big physical attack, you will not be able to use a healing spell for 2 gems in the next round. That is the only strategic mechanism and I can tell you, it’s not difficult. I didn’t have to grind much and the level cap is at 35 anyhow.
Tumblr media
Aside from the story and combat, you can explore the map, turn the cards to get an overview and of course, gather all collectibles: items, weapons/armour, NPC/MC cards with background stories and monster cards with their own stories as well. That kept me occupied for a good 20 hours, where I played the game through twice and watched all 4 different endings.
I mentioned it above already, but the music is top notch again. Keiichi Okabe just knows how to make bone chilling music. Thank you so much!
I enjoyed this game, definitely putting it in my top 5 in 2021.
Enjoyment - 4/5

little ways to enjoy new horizons more 🌿
- send your villagers postcards! i write to everyone about seasons changing, upcoming holidays, the weather, thank you notes, and whatever else while keeping their personality type in mind just for fun
- play at different times of the day. not only will you get more dialogue from your villagers, it creates a whole new atmosphere, like fishing in the middle of the night under the stars
- do things even if you’ve gotten all the available goodies! visit the roost for coffee, participate in bug-offs and fishing tourneys, play the holiday events, go to kk concerts, etc. try to enjoy them for the experience instead of the reward
- change your outfits up! put on some rain boots and grab an umbrella when the weather turns, pop on your shades and sun hat, bundle up in the snow, put on pjs late at night, dress up for birthday parties, the list goes on
- set casual gameplay goals, even if they’re silly. try to reach a 100m bells saved, complete the museum or every nook mile challenge, collect every gyroid in the game, trap every villager on your island with a pitfall seed, you name it!
- even if you don’t need bells, go fishing, bug hunting, or diving now and then. when you’re just playing and not grinding for anything in particular it can be really enjoyable and relaxing
- give your lesser used features a good run once in a while! spend some time walking through the museum, have a photo shoot at photopia, do a few random dream address visits, or whatever else you don’t do very often (if ever)
- take in and appreciate the little things. look for shooting stars or the northern lights on a clear night, bake cookies for your villagers on holidays, change out your door decoration seasonally, leave messages on the bulletin board, clap along to kapp’n and kk’s songs, watch the sun rise and set on the beach. your gameplay experience is ultimately up to you!
