We found Leliana. In the torture chamber. She still had enough strength in her to overpower the guards, but I was speechless. She just told us that this is why people fear mages. And that no one should have that kind of power. And she was right.
I didn't want to ask what happened to her, but while exploring the castle I came across notes. It was part of Alexius' experiments to find a cure for his son, Felix. He has found people that are resistant to the taint, and grafts skin from them to people infected by the Blight. Leliana was the most reliable source for that skin, so it is implied that her skin is peeled off. That same entry also implied that Leliana has been infected with the blight for them to know she's resistant. Which explains her eyes being clouded and her appearance. I am angry, so much angry and Alexius will pay for this!

So if alexius hadn't died what would he have thought of the whole situation where iri finds her mate in mc.
Would alessias opinion also have changed from her previous one if her father were still alive?
Alexius would have been happy for Irithiel. He’s well aware they’re not mates; he’d never begrudge her for finding happiness with the person her soul is bonded to. Just like Irithiel would have never begrudged him. He’d be warm and welcoming to the MC; happy that Irithiel finally found her one true.
As for Alessia? No, I don’t think her opinion of the MC would change. She was told that her parents weren’t mates— that it was a real possibility they’d one day find their own. It’s something Alessia has always been prepared for. She’d just be happy that her mother has finally found her other half.

Bonus fact! He’s smoking elfroot. I headcanon in the Circle the apprentices are often made to do chores like preparing herbs, and a lot of them make the surplus elfroot into blunts and get into the habit of smoking it. Especially if you’re an elf because in this house we believe in elfroot being elf weed superiority.

Felix sat by the fire in the sitting room when Dorian entered to check on him.
"How are you feeling?" he asked.
Felix sighed. "Still not better. I'm sorry, Dorian. I know you were looking forward to going."
"It's not your fault, don't worry about it. I'm glad I get to spend time with you, no matter where."
"Thank you."
"I'll make you some tea. Perhaps it will cheer you up?" Dorian smiled at him. He was concerned for Felix, who still looked like he felt very much like it was his fault that they were now spending yet another evening confined inside when the summer festival was taking place at the market.
Felix did his best to return the smile, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "It's worth a try."
"Then I'll be right back."
Dorian returned with a tray of cookies and two cups of tea. "Look what I found. Amelie is baking again."
Now Felix really did smile. "That's nice."
Dorian put the tray down on the table by Felix's armchair, glad to see that Felix did take a cookie. His appetite hadn't left him yet.
"You know, I did think about what you said. It might be a good idea to get me a wheelchair after all. I keep having more days where my legs aren't strong enough to carry me, even with the help of crutches... I'm not looking forward to telling father." Felix lips pressed together in a tight line. "He still thinks he can find a cure. It's so sad to see him like that."
"He told me that if he doesn't succeed before you die... at least he will be able to help other parents save their children."
Felix stayed quiet and began drinking his tea. Dorian did the same, staring into the flames of the fireplace.
Eventually, Felix broke the silence. "You were right."
"About what?"
"The tea." Felix grinned and Dorian felt relieved that he was in a better mood again. "It's elfroot, isn't it?"
"Yes," Dorian laughed. "It is."
