Gay jokes, gay subtexts, and queer codes seem to be everywhere in Tony Cavalero's non-Gemstone work.

Miracle Workers (2019-23) is an anthology sitcom, with the same central cast playing different characters in different historical eras. There may be angels about.

In Season 2, set during the Dark Ages, Prince Chauncley (Daniel Radcliffe) tries to win the approval of his macho dad. King Cragnoor the Heartless, in spite of being shy, artistic, and pacifist (but straight). Meanwhile Alexandra Shitshoveler (Geraldine Viswanathan) roils against the ignorance and superstition of her society.

In Episode 2.2 (2020), Ted Carpenter (Tony Cavalero) and his brew-dogs (sort of like dude-bros except one is a woman) square off against Alexandra in a trivia contest.

First question: "Which hunky emperor is well known for his juicy, trashy ass?" Ted gets it immediately: "St. Maxwell the Thicc!" An expert on men's asses, Ted? Funny, so is Keefe.

Next question: "Why does the sun go dark during the daytime?" Ted knows: "The devil gets horny for the sun 'cause they're both made of fire…he flies up there, and he fucks the sun so hard….that all the fire in it goes out."

Presumably instead of gender, these beings go by composition, so two fire-beings together is the equivalent of two men. Or we could recall that the sun is masculine in most cultures. Either way, the Devil is gay.

It is up to you to see the entire season. We don’t want you to miss anything.   Dark Ages is the second season of the series. It was set during the Dark ages, hence the title. The story Revolution, by Simon Rich, is the basis of the season. The cast appears to be facing new challenges. The cast tackles the challenges like medieval villager groups. They are living in a very difficult age due to extreme poverty, inequality, and healthcare problems. While the group attempts positive thinking and addresses the problem, it’s difficult to see how they actually do it.  Season 3 takes place in 1844. It is known as the Oregon Trail. This season is about a preacher who makes a difference in a small town. A preacher teams up with an outlaw on the wanted list, and his adventurous wife. He has joined forces with them to lead a wagon-train west on the Oregon Trail. This will be passing across America’s landscape. This is to help the town that has been hit by famine to improve their living conditions along the Oregon Trail.  Season 4 has not been updated. Season 4 will not be revealed by the makers of the series. The story that it will be based upon is also unknown. The anthology’s format makes it difficult to predict what season 4 will look like. So I filled out the survey on Miracle Workers: Dark Ages and thought I might as well post my review on here

I quite enjoyed watching yet another slowly developing relationship between Daniel Radcliffe's and Geraldine Viswanathan's characters, and also the close friendship between Al and Rosie.

I think that, even when explained in this quirky and unusual way, the storyline of Al, a young non-conformist who wants to change the world, can be quite relatable.

I had been waiting for Chauncley and Al to finally get together from almost the start of the season, so that part of the finale was totally welcome. I was happy to see Al doing everything in her power to save the town she apparently hated so much, and Chauncley's slowly developing appreciation for the "peasants" found its peak in helping her. And as it happened in the first season, Karan Soni's character finally changed his ways to help our beloved protagonists.

I don't think I'd never seen anything like this show, but the first season had a certain Good Omens vibe to it for me, probably because of the subject it was based on: two unexpectedly joined characters trying to stop the apocalypse and getting invested in human lifes.
