After doing a few crossover collages on Alice Liddell from American McGee's Alice franchise, and with there being people who have featured dark teen Alice with Disney's sunny child Alice, I have been considering the idea to do a crossover friendship/sisters/cousins collage on them. Both of them and their stories are drawn from Lewis Carrol's original novel and in away it kind of makes them the same person, or at least a reflection of their dark and light sides. If Disney's Alice had went through what AMA Alice did, there is a chance that she might have become dark and traumatized like her.

Guys, I have a stupid little theory for you that I came up with in ethics class.

In the 1951 Alice in Wonderland movie, the White Rabbit introduces the Queen of Hearts as her Imperial Highness, so she is Empress of something.

From what came up this little meaningless question:

What if Wonderland is the empire and Hearts is the kingdom?

Disclaimer: this is solely how I believe the characters would act IF they found it strange. Personally I don’t think the wonderlandians would find anything strange esp not a special interest 💖

Alice

If you told Alice you had a peculiar interest she would be confused for a moment but would never judge you as she has learnt better than that in her lessons with her sister. She would kindly sit and ask you to explain to her what you find so interesting about the subject at hand. She would most likely make up stories with you about the interest to make it more enjoyable for her and for you <3

The Mad Hatter

The hatter would be taken back a tad but laugh. Not at you, just because he found the situation funny. He will sit at the table sipping his tea and gently listening to you info dump about your special interest and simply enjoy your presence. Occasionally he would interrupt you to make a statement or ask a question, not in a rude way, just being inquisitive and unaware of when it’s deemed polite to interrupt someone. He would most likely make a little song out of it and sing it to you (he’s musically whimsical).

The Cheshire Cat

I know fully that Cheshire would pick some fun at your interest but only out of mischief. He would be more than willing to ask you questions about it and let you talk about the subject but before then he would let out a large chuckle and make jokes every now and again.

The Queen of Hearts

She will most likely not care too much for the conversation and dismiss it unless you keep pestering her until she caves. She would order you to sit next to her and occasionally lose her temper with you due to being impatient and ordering you to talk about the next thing. Or another option would be for her to order you to play croquet while you talk about it meanwhile she keeps interrupting with “OFF WITH HIS HEAD”

The Caterpillar

He wouldn’t be too fond of the conversation as he likes to keep to himself however he would never turn down a nonsensical info dump. He would stare at you, eyes half closed while puffing on his hookah and listening to you rambling on. His face would show a soft grin as he enjoys listening to the words coming out your mouth.

The White Rabbit

Knowing how late Mr rabbit is. He would most likely offer you to speed walk with him while you talk about it. He would however ask questions about it and keep the conversation moving until eventually he would hop off abruptly without another word.

The Flowers

They would offer you a seat on a leaf at first glance but then after some time they would get bored and tired of listening and start singing. To which you find that very rude and they would kick you out for interrupting them.

AIW allusions in the RWBY V9 clips

One thing I haven't seen anyone talking about in regards to the new RWBY clips, is the Alice in Wonderland references, so as an AIW fanatic I figured I would give my take on em’!

Example 1, one of the first things we see is a ”rocking horsefly”. These are just little whimsical bugs that add to the vibe of wonderland.

(First photo is from the new RWBY V9 clip, second is from Disneys 1951 Alice in Wonderland)

Example 2: The flamingo? Flamingos are used as the Queen of Hearts croquet mallets, and they tend to be… unhelpful. Here, this bird has a design that goes pretty well with the AIW design style, and has a sort of smirk on its face. I would also like to point out that it could be related to the Dodo, but that doesn’t seem super likely.

Example 3: The mouse. Mice show up a couple times in AIW usually as background, excluding the Doormouse, who stays at the Mad Hatters table and sleeps. The Doormouse isn’t a guide in the books (that role is filled by the Cheshire), but it seems like she might be an animal buddy/sidekick.

(One could argue that the conversation in the clip is a reference/version to/of “I’m an Alice)

Example 4: Cheshire Cat. I’m mostly just going off the image, and the fact that I love the Cheshire Cat, but it seems like this character is definitely alluding to our favorite wonderland cat. Plus, it seems like Ruby is meeting him soon after landing on the island, so they might be acting as a guide the same way they do in AIW.

Example 5: The Queen/King of Hearts. I’m just guessing here, as the person in this image is donning a crown, wearing red , and the Queen of Hearts is so important in most adaptions of AIW.

Landscapes/Settings:

Example 6: This tunnel thing. Its pretty straight forward, with AIW having a lot of falling down stuff. It actually gives me an Alice through the Looking Glass vibe, with the bright colors and almost mirror like walls. Plus the blue butterfly could also be an allusion.

Example 7: The beach. A decent part of Alice in Wonderland is actually spent on the beach. Alice spends time in beach locations at both the beginning of the book and the end. It isn’t really an allusion but it fits the theme.

Example 8: This last bit here. This image shows a lot of different landscapes, but the garden like one, and the mushroom one both stick out, as the places shrunken Alice spends her time in the book.

Obviously, not everything is an allusion, but these are just some thoughts of mine!

idk, I don't really want to talk about it. but I really don't care, as long as you're not hurting anyone I'm not too invested

I LOVE flags. pride flags, country flags, ship flags, union flags. any flags, I love it. so I like the alterhuman flags :3 and symbols are a great way of recognising other alterhumans!

Day 17: Does fictionkinity connect to spirituality for you?

i not sure, it's complicated

Day 18: Does fictionkinity connect to neurodivergence for you?

for me? yes! autistic people are often seen as weird, which makes me connect more with the mad hatter, cause he is weird. also because the mad hatter has mad hatters disease, which also makes him act out of place.

yes! I won't say exactly why, because it would give away my dead name. but I definitely have been compared to him!

Day 20: How do you express your fictotype? Clothes, merch, cosplay, maybe even name?

arts and crafts, especially sewing. also currently sewing buttons to a brown coat, I can't wait! it already gives me shifts

i don't really consume my media. I watch the movies every once in a while, and I do own multiple books about Alice in wonderland. but for the most part I don't, I know it pretty well as I grew up watching aiw 2010 so yeah!

I want to write an Alice in Wonderland AU featuring Lili as the protagonist. Got any ideas?

Okay, here are a few recommendations

Unlike how Alice was a wide eyed audience self-insert, you will need to lean heavily into the characterization of Lili ready to get frustrated with the craziness going on around her. Repeating the Clairvoyance scene with the friendship bracelet from PN1 will be a good reminder of how Lili would act under stress or dealing with crazy.

PN1 characters, particularly those of the Campers and the Senior Agents and possibly Thorny Towers, would be your friend. Lili hasn't really bonded with the Interns and she'd probably hear about the PN1 story stuff from Raz telling her all about what he went through to save the day. I'd say you'd probably want to use Milla, Sasha, and Oleander (and Hollis), before assigning anything to Thorny Towers Patients or Interns.

If you want to use the style of "Alice in Wonderland" where the story is pulling her along, but not retell "Alice in Wonderland" make it a story that Raz or Truman is telling her... which she falls asleep to and ends up in the world of that story. You can also do this with a possible sickness Lili is dealing with if you want to lean into the crazy of "Alice in Wonderland"

Don't be afraid to use things that weren't used in more recognizable media! If you have the books of "Alice in Wonderland" feel free to use some of those encounters if you want everything to match up with the campers. Some things in the 1951 Disney film may different than say... the live action 1985 film (which features a song that the Cheshire Cat)... and the live action Disney 2010 film is a sequel to the 1951 film with the same name. And some plays have things like the Old Griffon and Mock Turtle.

Make it a brain level! Make an OC that Lili has to deal with going into the mind to. AIWS is a real mental illness, apparently, and it was talked about as far back as 1955.

started playing Disney Mirrorverse & I kinda like it so far so here's some movies/characters I hope they bring in:

Encanto (I mean, come on! I'm fairly certain any of the Madrigal's powers would translate super well/easily here)

Alice in Wonderland (the 1951 version, of course) (listen listen - it's a game called "Mirrorvers" & what's the sequel to AIW? Yeah, that's right: "Through the Looking-Glass". I'm just saying the opportunity to make jokes is far to great NOT to)

I know Tinkerbell is already in it but more of the Disney Fairies!!! They need more love <3 (that being said, Peter Pan would also be kinda cool I guess, since Captain Hook is already here)

Coco (I just think it'd be cool idk

Of course, how can I not say Barley from Onward?

Why is Aladdin & Genie here but not Jasmine. like where is my girl give here to me.

Speaking of, Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty! I'm honestly a bit shocked since they're classic Disney Princesses, though I guess that brings into question what their system/method of adapting these characters are.

idk how they'd do it but I want Lady & the Tramp characters in there somewhere. Though, I kind of doubt they'd do many disney animals (then again, there is Scar, so hopefully we'll at least get The Lion King?)

At the very least, I hope they add more characters from movies they've already put in. The roster feels a bit off/odd, thought that might just be me wanting to play my favorite disney characters sldfjk lol
